Remembering Marianne Faithfull 1946-2025

British singer / actress Marianne Faithfull has died at 78. She was an It Girl in swingin' London in the 60s. She intertwined with The Rolling Stones as Mick Jagger and Keith Richards co-wrote her hit single "As Tears Go By", she dated Jagger from 1966-1970, sang backup on "Sympathy for the Devil", co-write their song "Sister Morphine" and was a part of their Rock and Roll Circus, among many other collaborations.

She also was friendly with The Beatles: covering "Yesterday" in 1965, singing backup on "Yellow Submarine" and on "All You Need Is Love" (she appears in the video too). The song I remember her most for was Metallica's "The Memory Remains", which she sang on, appeared in the video for, and performed with them on SNL.

For her acting she had some supporting roles in Paris, Je T'aime, Marie Antoinette, and a voice actor in Dune: Part One.
