Julianne was originally gonna be a bear!! i really wanted a bear to be my fursona/sona in late 2023 and began looking to mascot characters for inspo bc she was just gonna be a versatile tool for my art. However, I fully leaned into Julianne being a cat after reading BTTWNS bc I guess I was more inclined to having a cat instead of a bear.

But thinking of it now, because of my short hair and my appearance, I think Bear!Julianne would end up looking a lot like Sam in Praludium except a lot more feminine. Julianne is still Julianne (lost, scared, traumatized) but a lot more put together as she already KNEW what she wanted to be growing up (an artist) and had a better support system (compared to Sam's) made the idea of Julianne dating Sam be so much more complex bc physically- it's weird, right? Julianne looks a lot like you when you were where she is but she's a lot more competent and a lot more emotionally mature! but at the same time she isn't!!

And I think Sam would be very jealous of this, not outwardly admitting to it, but projecting her own helplessness on to someone who IS helpless but could at least juggle it better than Sam who just hides or denies it. She'd also have some resentment for how she isn't a bear. like Julianne IS a bear but she's not cruel or cold or selfish or dominant; She's sensitive, soft, submissive, and vulnerable. Julianne wants warmth and acceptance which bears aren't wired to be (at least to Sam) but she'll try. Just so Sam could reciprocate the love she wants from her.

TLDR; Toxic Doomed Yuri would have been even more Toxic and Doomed and Violent if I stuck to Julianne becoming a Butterbear ripoff.

I might play with it again bc I really like Julianne being a ghost of not just Lola but also of Sam in the past bc. I didn't mean to imagine Bear!Julianne looking like 20 year old Sam but. Come On.
