"why are you so worried abt random accidents, stuff like that rarely ever happens" well you see I'm too disabled to ever evacuate a situation on my own, so I'd rather be a safety advocate now than become a statistic later
#like. part of the reason i avoid large crowded events at all costs unless they are outdoors#is because i know for a fact i would more likely be a victim of crowd crush than any disaster like a fire#i am slow. i am very fragile. i have extremely poor balance#even if i could walk on that particular day (which is becoming less and less likely by the month)#i would be knocked over almost immediately by a light shove and be trampled#as well as like. my diminishing ability to make it UP stairs in the event of a fire in my apartment#because i live in a basement apartment and there is no elevator or alternative way upstairs in this building#if i were on an upper floor i would bear the injuries and just throw myself down the stairs if it were that severe of an emergency#i know far too well how to protect myself from a hard fall and would likely be able to avoid too severe an injury there#but if i had to crawl up the stairs i don't know if i could make it#these things are also why i fear car accidents so much#i physically cannot use an airbag without it breaking my collarbone; my height and general brittleness guarantee that#so it's just not. active. on my side of the car. like it was manually disabled#and I'm already so severely disabled i just. i can't emotionally handle something else. on top of everything#i have a do not resuscitate order in place bc of that. so if my heart stops for any reason they shouldn't try to restart it#that's a recent choice bc like. i can already barely handle the emotional toll of my current disabilities getting worse#i would not be able to handle something new unless it were like. a more severe form of one i already handle well like. losing my legs#i miss running but it wasn't as hard to give up as; say; losing use of my hands- they're the only way i can do ANYTHING nowadays#the few times my joint pain got bad enough that i fully lost use of my hands for a few days were absolute torment#and I'm far far too scared of my voice being recorded to use anything with speech to text like. it's a BAD paranoia i can't shake it#so i would just kind of. be locked out from most tech. and THAT is currently the only way it's possible for me to be social#so i would actually just fully lose my mind like it's already fragile enough i would break i would just break#i love large transport vehicles but i struggle to trust the safety of most other than trains because those tend to be. fairly safe#I've watched enough train disaster videos to know how robust the rules and regulations of modern trains are#(all regulations are written in blood!)#i trust cars very little though and since buses run on the same streets i worry. a Lot#not that there's any buses that run near my apartment the closest bus stop is three blocks away and it only comes twice a day#and it only runs to the college and nowhere else so there's. very little point to me using it#and very few ways for me to even access it in my current physical state#it's very much not an accessible bus stop the sidewalks are diagonal in most places and my right wheel is malfunctioning now bc of it

Why the Best Network Video Recorder is Crucial for Surveillance

In the modern era of smart security, the quality of your surveillance system can make all the difference. A Network Video Recorder (NVR) is the brain behind the camera system, managing video footage from IP cameras and ensuring it is stored securely. The best NVR systems provide high-resolution video, intelligent storage solutions, and remote access. For industries like vertical transportation, this technology is not just helpful—it’s essential. Whether it's a small business or a large facility, investing in a reliable NVR ensures you never miss a moment that matters.
When it comes to elevator surveillance, having the best network video recorder isn’t just a bonus—it’s a necessity. Elevators present a unique challenge for surveillance due to their confined space and constant movement. A top-tier NVR must be compatible with compact, high-definition cameras and deliver real-time footage without lag. Moreover, it needs to offer ample storage and seamless access for reviewing historical footage. This becomes vital in case of emergencies, disputes, or maintenance issues. The right NVR enhances both security and operational efficiency, making it a critical tool in comprehensive elevator monitoring systems.
How Smart Surveillance Protects Elevator Passengers
Smart surveillance is transforming how elevator security is managed. Instead of relying solely on basic CCTV, modern systems integrate smart features like motion detection, real-time alerts, and cloud-based storage. These capabilities ensure that building managers and security teams receive timely updates about any unusual activity. Particularly in elevators—where incidents can escalate quickly—this proactive monitoring can be life-saving. The NVR plays a key role by coordinating camera inputs and storing video securely for future use. With better analytics and instant access, elevator passengers enjoy safer and more secure rides in residential, commercial, and public facilities.
Beyond just storing footage, the best NVRs support high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) and other compression technologies. This allows them to retain high-quality footage without requiring excessive storage space. For elevator systems, where space and connectivity can be limited, this is essential. The system must also withstand environmental challenges like vibrations or electrical fluctuations. For this reason, ruggedized, elevator-specific NVR models are now becoming the norm. These advanced systems support redundancy and remote diagnostics, helping technicians and facility managers identify and fix issues before they cause system downtime. Reliable storage and rapid access to footage are non-negotiable in elevator security.
Key Features That Define a Top-Tier NVR System
The best network video recorders are equipped with features that support a wide range of surveillance needs. Essential features include multi-channel input, real-time video processing, and remote access through secure applications. In elevator settings, they must also support integration with emergency systems and intercoms. Intelligent video analytics—such as facial recognition or people counting—can add an extra layer of monitoring. In multi-floor buildings, these features help improve passenger safety and manage elevator usage more efficiently. Another important factor is reliability; a good NVR should continue to function even during network outages, ensuring no footage is ever lost.
In elevator environments, security must balance discretion and effectiveness. This is where compact NVR designs shine. A small form factor ensures the system can be installed in tight spaces like elevator control rooms or maintenance closets. Remote monitoring allows building management to observe real-time footage without needing physical access. This saves time and enables rapid response to incidents. Furthermore, with cybersecurity concerns rising, modern NVRs come equipped with encrypted data streams and user authentication. These protections guard against unauthorized access, ensuring that both recorded and live footage are only available to authorized personnel at all times.
Tailored Elevator Security Solutions That Work
Generic surveillance solutions don’t meet the unique demands of elevator systems. This is why specialized products, such as those offered by Elevator Video Systems, are essential. Their offerings are designed specifically for elevator environments, addressing challenges like limited space, signal interference, and vibration. By combining durable hardware with high-performance software, Elevator Video Systems delivers reliable and intuitive NVR setups. These solutions ensure that footage remains clear, secure, and accessible whenever it's needed. Choosing a provider that understands the vertical transportation space ensures optimal performance, lower maintenance, and greater long-term value.
By selecting an elevator-focused surveillance provider, facilities benefit from industry-specific support and guidance. Whether it's a retrofitting project or a new installation, companies like Elevator Video Systems offer customized consultation and scalable options. This means building owners get the right number of cameras, proper NVR capacity, and expert installation. When elevator security is handled with this level of attention, the results are clear: reduced vandalism, faster incident resolution, and better passenger safety. Investing in tailored solutions makes a difference not just in performance, but in the peace of mind it delivers to everyone using the building.
The Future of Elevator Surveillance Technology
As surveillance continues to evolve, the next wave of elevator security will lean heavily into AI and cloud integration. Advanced NVRs will not only store data but analyze it in real time, identifying anomalies and alerting security teams instantly. Features like behavioral analytics and predictive maintenance are becoming part of comprehensive systems. This proactive approach minimizes downtime and improves passenger experience. The shift toward centralized, intelligent control panels makes monitoring multiple elevators across a property easier than ever. With scalable cloud solutions, security managers can access footage and insights from any device, anywhere in the world.
With the rise of smart buildings, elevator security is no longer optional—it’s a necessity. A powerful NVR system is the cornerstone of any reliable setup, bridging high-quality video capture with efficient storage and retrieval. As buildings get taller and smarter, the need for robust surveillance grows. Choosing a system built specifically for elevators ensures durability, compliance, and superior performance. Whether you're managing a high-rise condo, hospital, or commercial tower, equipping your elevators with smart surveillance powered by a top-tier NVR isn't just about protecting property—it's about protecting people. Make the right investment today, and stay ahead of tomorrow’s security challenges.

SUMMARY: A detective falls for his beautiful neighbour, a kind kindergarten teacher- only to discover she’s a drug holder hiding secrets in their swanky apartment building. But when love and loyalty clash, how far will he go to protect her… even if it means betraying the badge?

Park Sunghoon had never wanted an ordinary life.
Even as a kid growing up in Seoul, he’d been the one asking too many questions, staring a little too long at strangers, trying to piece together the puzzle of who they were and what secrets they might be hiding.
While other kids played video games, Sunghoon devoured detective novels, captivated by the thrill of solving what no one else could see. The idea of finding the truth- no matter how dark- set a spark burning in his chest that never went out.
His parents didn’t share the same enthusiasm. They wanted him safe behind a desk, in a respectable office job, not out chasing criminals through alleyways or risking his life in drug busts. They worried about the danger, the long hours, the toll it could take on his body and mind.
But Sunghoon couldn’t picture himself anywhere else.
He put himself through the Police University, graduating near the top of his class. It wasn’t easy. The physical training was brutal, the academic work relentless. But he thrived on the challenge. The more demanding the task, the more determined he became to prove himself.
When he made Detective, his parents finally accepted that this was his path. Especially when they saw how much he loved it.
Because Sunghoon didn’t just like being a detective. He lived for it.
He loved the rush of following a trail no one else noticed, the satisfaction of snapping puzzle pieces into place, the silent pride of bringing dangerous people off the streets. And, perhaps most of all, the power of protecting people who couldn’t protect themselves.
Years of hard work paid off. By his early thirties, he’d climbed the ranks to Detective Sergeant, leading high-profile investigations into narcotics and organized crime. His instincts were sharp, his case-closure record impressive. He’d earned respect in the department- and enough salary to afford the sleek, high-rise apartment where he now lived.
On paper, Detective Sergeant Park Sunghoon was exactly where he’d always dreamed of being- successful, respected, and at the top of his game.
He just never expected the biggest puzzle of his life would be the woman who lived right across the hall.
It started with an elevator ride- Sunghoon was on his way to work. Briefcase in hand, the other stuffed in his pocket, he leaned against the metal wall of the elevator, music flooding his ears. For the past month, nothing interesting had come out of work. The city had been quiet- a bit too quiet.
Before the doors could shut, she’d come running towards him, waving frantically to hold the lift, please. And Sunghoon barely heard her but he was swift- he slid his hand between the opening and let the doors slide open for her. Shyly, she thanked him, hands clasped in front of her, dressed somewhere in between formal and casual- Sunghoon didn’t know the word for it.
He’d never seen this girl before. And it came more as a shock to him when he realised she lived a few doors down from him- two doors opposite of his, the last one in the hallway, to be precise. As more time passed, the more their mornings seemed to align. They’d open their doors at the same time to leave for work, Sunghoon drove down the same road Y/N walked down to reach her place of work- she was a kindergarten teacher- and they both went to the same grocery store on the weekends.
He knew this because once, they’d accidentally bumped their carts into each others’ while exploring the cereal aisle and awkwardly laughed at each other- familiar enough to know that they lived in the same building together, not familiar enough to exchange words.
But after that, Sunghoon tried to make himself more familiar with her.
Y/N was her name- he learnt that after asking the door man, who didn’t even hesitate to give him, a cop, the piece of information. And for the next few days, he’d utter the name under his breath to familiarise himself with it- the way it rolled off his tongue with ease, the way it suited her more than any other name he could fathom.
And in those elevator rides, quiet and still hovering with awkwardness, Sunghoon would observe her, examine her, admire her. It was the way she never looked tired in the mornings, though Sunghoon did most of the time- whether it was because he was on his way to the gym or to work. And it was the way her clothes seemed to fit her so perfectly, the way her hair was always perfectly styled and fell over her shoulder. And every morning in the elevator, she would pass him a curt nod and then look ahead like he didn’t exist.
Sunghoon came to dread weekend mornings- it meant he wouldn’t be able to see her in the elevators, wouldn’t get that simple nod of acknowledgement from her, couldn’t mark his mornings with the sight of her fresh face and light smile resting on her glossed lips.
Then, he started getting off work early- purposeful and calculated. It took a while to figure out but eventually, he’d just asked the doorman again and he told him that she came back home around 3pm everyday.
So, the next day, at around 3pm, Sunghoon waited near the elevator, praying that Y/N would grace him with her appearance.
And she did, with her arms filled with a stack of papers almost comically thick, trying her best to not let them fly away. She greeted the doorman with a respectful smile and bow and scurried her way to the elevator- to Sunghoon, where he stood, waiting for her, when the elevator doors opened at the perfect timing.
“Do you need help with that?” Sunghoon asked her, cooly, swiftly, as though he hadn’t been rehearsing it.
Him, a cop, a sergeant detective, had to rehearse how to talk to a girl- he wasn’t sure how to feel about himself. But he didn’t care.
Y/N, ever so focused on carrying the papers, which seemingly were filled with children’s drawings, looked up at him with raised brows and parted lips- surprised. And she watched as he pressed the button to their floor and moved his hands towards her, the papers she was holding, and held the bundle with one hand with ease, the other holding his briefcase.
“Thank you,” she mumbled to him, utterly defeated by his kindness, blinking up at him like she was looking at him for the first time- sharp features, welcoming smile and thick strands of hair that fell over his eyes.
“You’re a kindergarten student?” He asked, hiding the fact that he already knew.
“Yes,” she nodded, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “And you?”
“Detective sergeant,” he answered proudly and didn’t fail to miss the falter in her expression- the way her smile froze for half a second, eyes darting away before she caught herself.
But Sunghoon didn’t think much of it- most people had that reaction, he realised. It was an instinctive mix of caution and unease, that momentary tightening in the shoulders, the subtle shift in their gaze. The badge on his belt carried weight, even when hidden beneath a suit jacket.
To him, it was normal. To everyone else, it was a quiet reminder that the law was always watching.
“I know I don’t look it,” he offered as a joke, sharp teeth peeking from behind his lips in teasing.
Y/N soft expression came back, eyes wrinkling as she brought her hand up to hide her giggle. “I knew we had a cop living in the building. Just didn’t think it was you.”
“Now you know,” Sunghoon shrugged.
The elevator door spinged open and the pair stepped out. Meekly, she reached towards her pile of papers- the drawings her students made with so much care and enthusiasm, despite their lack of talent and hand-eye coordination.
And he handed it to her, the tips of their fingers brushing- it sent jolts of electricity through Sunghoon and he reveled in it. He didn’t want to deny himself of it.
“Thank you for keeping us safe,” she bowed to him- a sense of respect and caution- before walking away towards her door.
And Sunghoon stood back and watched, stunned by their interaction. He’d read the interaction from a completely different light than she- Sunghoon thought he’d made his flirting evident.
Over the next few days, Sunghoon made it a point to leave work early.
It was a sudden change that left his team blinking in surprise and quietly celebrating the unexpected gift of shorter shifts. Detective Sergeant Park was known for staying late, stubbornly glued to his desk long after everyone else had gone home, but now he was practically racing the clock to leave on time. And every afternoon, like clockwork, he managed to catch Y/N just as she stepped into the elevator on her way home.
Their conversations were always the same. He’d greet her with a polite, “how has work been?” And she’d offer a soft, careful smile and reply, “good. What about you?”
They rarely ventured beyond those simple exchanges. Sunghoon might elaborate a sentence or two about his day, and Y/N would give a quiet hum of acknowledgement, always polite but distant, as though she were determined to keep a safe buffer between them. It should have been harmless- a neighborly routine. But the truth was, Sunghoon found himself craving these moments far more than he ever intended.
At first, he convinced himself it was just curiosity. He was a detective, after all; it was his job to observe, to notice the details other people missed. But curiosity had a way of creeping into obsession, and one night, Sunghoon found himself sitting alone in his apartment, still wearing his dress shirt and tie, staring at the blank wall across the hall where her door stood closed and silent. He tried to shake it off, tried to remind himself that she was just a neighbor and that he was reading too much into things. But he couldn’t stop thinking about how Y/N refused to indulge him in more information about herself.
The next day, long after the precinct had emptied out, Sunghoon stayed behind. His finger hovered over the keyboard for a few seconds, battling with the quiet voice of his conscience. Then he gave in, logged into the department’s secure database, and typed her name.
The screen flickered as the system pulled up her records, and in an instant, her life unfolded before him in cold, precise lines of text- her full name, national ID, place of birth in a small town hours outside Seoul, her parents’ names and current address, her school history, and a clean criminal record.
And then he saw her salary.
Sunghoon stared at the figure, frowning. It wasn’t terrible, but it was nowhere near enough to cover rent in a building like theirs- not unless she was spending every last won on housing and living off instant noodles.
Even that seemed unlikely.
For a long moment, he sat there in the dim glow of his monitor, replaying every seemingly innocent detail he’d noticed about her over the past weeks.
He thought about how Y/N never wore designer clothes like so many of their neighbors. Her wardrobe was always simple- neat blouses, soft cardigans, plain skirts in gentle colors. He remembered how her grocery bags were always small and light, never crammed with the expensive brands and imported snacks he saw other tenants buying. There were no impulse luxuries in her cart- just bare essentials like rice, eggs, and milk. And he thought about how she didn’t own a car. Until now, he’d assumed it was a personal preference, maybe an eco-friendly choice for someone who worked with children. But suddenly, he couldn’t shake the suspicion that she simply couldn’t afford it.
Worst of all, he kept remembering the way her eyes flickered, just for the briefest second, when he said, “Detective Sergeant.” That tiny pause, the split-second stiffening of her shoulders- it hadn’t meant much to him at first. But now, it clawed at his mind like a warning he couldn’t ignore.
If she couldn’t afford her apartment on her salary, then someone else had to be paying for it. But who? And why?
Sunghoon leaned back in his chair, fingers drumming anxiously on his desk, as his detective instincts kicked in, cataloging possibilities. Maybe she had a secret inheritance, but that seemed unlikely given her parents’ modest background. A wealthy boyfriend? He’d never seen any man visiting her apartment. Debt? That wouldn’t explain who was covering her rent. Or- an unsettling possibility twisted in his gut- was she involved in something illegal?
He wanted so desperately to believe she was just a sweet, hardworking teacher who lived a simple life. But Sunghoon had seen too much in his years on the force to ignore the possibility that sometimes the most ordinary faces hid the darkest secrets. And as he sat there, the weight of his discovery pressing down on his chest, one thought refused to leave him:
What was Y/N hiding?
The following weekend, Sunghoon called in sick to work, mumbling some half-hearted excuse about feeling unwell. It wasn’t entirely a lie- his head did feel scrambled, his chest tight with a restless, obsessive energy he couldn’t shake. But it had nothing to do with a virus or a fever.
It was because of Y/N.
So instead of resting, Sunghoon spent nearly all of Saturday posted right inside his apartment doorway, a chair dragged close enough that he could lean forward, pressing his ear against the wood. He sat there for hours, listening intently for any sounds from the hallway, straining to catch even the faintest whisper, the softest shuffle of footsteps outside.
Saturday morning passed uneventfully. The building was quiet, the only noises drifting through were the occasional thump of someone’s vacuum cleaner, a child laughing two floors up, and the distant hum of traffic far below. By afternoon, Sunghoon was starting to feel foolish. His muscles ached from sitting so long in the same position, and he was growing bored, losing hope in the theory that Y/N was involved in anything illegal.
A huge part of him felt relieved. Maybe there was an innocent explanation for how she could afford to live in such an expensive apartment. Maybe she really was just a sweet, hardworking kindergarten teacher with no dark secrets lurking behind her gentle smile.
But as evening fell, the quiet shifted.
Somewhere around seven o’clock, Sunghoon heard footsteps in the hallway- soft, deliberate steps that didn’t match any of his neighbors’ usual patterns. They were heavier than Y/N’s light tread but more cautious than the confident strides of the businessmen who lived on their floor. The footsteps approached, and Sunghoon felt his pulse spike as he heard the subtle click of a key sliding into Y/N’s lock.
He shot upright, adrenaline surging through him.
A moment later, Y/N’s voice carried into the hall, soft and cautious.
“Come in, come in!”
Peering through the slim crack of his door, Sunghoon caught a faint glimpse of her silhouette standing at her doorway, her posture slightly nervous, her hands fidgeting as she stepped aside to let someone enter. The figure who brushed past her into the apartment was a man- taller than Y/N, wearing dark clothes, his face half-obscured by the shadows spilling across the hallway. Sunghoon barely caught the sharp line of a jaw, the gleam of something metallic at the man’s wrist, maybe a watch.
And then the door shut with a soft thud, swallowing them into silence.
Sunghoon stood frozen in the threshold of his own apartment, heart hammering so hard he could hear it in his ears. Every instinct screamed that this was the moment he’d been waiting for- that he wasn’t crazy, that there was something more to Y/N than sweet smiles and pastel sweaters.
He clenched his fists at his sides, fighting the sudden urge to storm across the hallway and demand answers (what answers? He wasn’t her boyfriend yet to accuse her of adultery and he had not enough proof to accuse her of illegal activity). Instead, he forced himself to close his door softly, leaning his back against it as he stared at the ceiling, trying to steady his breath.
Half an hour later, Sunghoon was still standing near his door, tense and silent, every nerve on edge. He kept replaying the image of the man slipping into Y/N’s apartment, trying to memorize every shadowy detail- the broad shoulders, the dark clothing, the quick, almost furtive way he’d moved past her.
Then, suddenly, Y/N’s door clicked open again, the quiet sound echoing through the hushed hallway.
A string of small, hushed voices spilled out into the corridor- soft mumbles of polite farewells, fragments of words like “thank you,” and “see you tomorrow.” Sunghoon held his breath as he edged his door open just a few centimeters, peering through the narrow slit.
The man emerged first, stepping into the hall with quick, purposeful strides. In his hand, he now carried a black bag he hadn’t been holding earlier. It wasn’t anything overtly suspicious- a simple duffel, the kind a person might take to the gym- but the sight of it made Sunghoon’s gut twist. The man didn’t look around as he headed for the elevators, his expression unreadable, eyes focused straight ahead as though determined not to acknowledge anyone who might be watching.
Behind him, Y/N lingered in her doorway, one hand gripping the edge of the door frame, offering a polite smile that seemed just a little too practiced.
“Goodnight,” she called softly and clicked her door shut.
The man gave a short nod without turning, and within moments, he disappeared into the elevator, the doors sliding shut with a quiet hiss.
Sunghoon stood frozen, staring at the empty hallway, his mind spinning faster than he could control.
Why did that man suddenly have a bag? What had been inside Y/N’s apartment that he needed to carry out? And why was Y/N- the gentle, soft-spoken kindergarten teacher- mixed up with a man who slipped away like he was avoiding being seen?
By Sunday evening, Sunghoon was practically vibrating with restless energy. He hadn’t left his apartment all weekend except to crack his door open and press his ear against it whenever footsteps echoed in the hall. Part of him felt ridiculous, spying like a jealous lover, but the other part- the detective part- couldn’t ignore the gnawing certainty that Y/N was hiding something.
So when the same man returned that evening, carrying the same black bag and arriving almost to the minute as the night before, Sunghoon felt both vindicated and deeply uneasy. He watched through the sliver of his door as Y/N opened hers with that same practiced gesture, stepping aside to let the man in. She was smiling, but there was tension in the set of her shoulders, as if her entire body were braced for something she couldn’t control. Half an hour later, the man was leaving again, only this time the bag was nowhere in sight.
Sunghoon decided that tonight, he wasn’t going to simply watch from the shadows.
The moment Y/N’s door cracked open again and the man stepped into the hallway, Sunghoon swung his own door wider, pretending to be in mid-stride, keys in hand like he was on his way out. Y/N and the man both froze, eyes wide, expressions caught somewhere between surprise and unease. But just as quickly, their faces smoothed back into normalcy, masks snapping into place.
“Oh, Y/N,” Sunghoon said, approaching with measured steps, his voice warm but edged with curiosity. “Nice to see you.”
Y/N tucked a piece of hair behind her ear and offered a bright, practiced smile.
“You too. How are you? No work today?”
“Ah, I wasn’t feeling too well, actually,” Sunghoon replied, letting out an exaggerated sigh as he rubbed his temple. “Headache.”
“Oh, uh… do you need anyth- ”
But Sunghoon cut her off sharply, shifting his gaze toward the man who lingered beside her.
“Who’s this?” He asked, tilting his head slightly, as though trying to place a familiar face.
Y/N hesitated, just for a second- a small hitch in her breath that only someone like Sunghoon would catch. He felt the electric thrill of knowing he’d cornered her, even if only slightly. He could see the calculations racing behind her eyes. Y/N was smart enough to know that by now, Sunghoon had begun to suspect something. She would also know how good he was at detecting lies- she’d told him once she’d fallen down an internet rabbit hole researching him after he’d revealed his job.
Sunghoon waited, silently daring her to slip. He was expecting a lie- and he’d know if it was a bad one. He already knew almost everything about her. Everything he needed to.
Y/N cleared her throat lightly, then reached out and patted the man on the shoulder.
“Oh, he’s my high school friend,” she said smoothly.
The man cracked a confident smile, nodding. “Yes. High school friend.”
Sunghoon narrowed his eyes to thin slits, studying them both. He knew it was a lie- but he had to admit it was a good one. If she’d claimed he was her brother, that would have been an instant giveaway; Sunghoon knew for a fact that Y/N didn’t have any siblings. But a high school friend… that was plausible enough to muddy the waters.
“Ah,” Sunghoon murmured, clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth as he considered his next move. He debated asking the man’s name, but quickly decided against it. Pushing too hard right now would make his suspicions too obvious. Instead, he forced a polite smile. “Nice to meet you.”
“Yes,” the man- allegedly Y/N’s high school friend- nodded briskly, then stepped past Sunghoon and headed toward the elevator.
Sunghoon didn’t stop him. He turned slightly to watch over his shoulder until the man disappeared behind the closing elevator doors. Then he shifted his gaze back to Y/N, who was still standing there, her fingers twisting lightly around the hem of her sleeve as if waiting for him to say something more.
If Y/N was who Sunghoon now suspected she was, he knew she would have pieced it together by now- that he was watching her, that the detective across the hall was no longer just her friendly neighbor but someone who had begun to look for the cracks in her story.
Sunghoon felt the options swirling in his mind. He could investigate further, dig until he found enough evidence to arrest her- or he could play this differently. Use the situation to his advantage.
And as he looked at her standing there, eyes darting nervously across his features, Sunghoon’s lips curled into the faintest trace of his signature smile.
“We should go on a date.”
Sunghoon, as a servant of the law, knew he should feel sick for twisting a situation like this. Two things haunted the back of his mind like gnawing teeth: first, that he was refraining from investigating a suspicious woman; and second, that he was manipulating a woman he found irresistibly attractive into going on a date with him under the silent, unspoken threat of his badge. He knew it was wrong, that he was stepping over lines no detective ever should.
Yet, he couldn’t help himself.
It was something in the way Y/N looked at him, cautious and wary, as though she understood the unspoken rules of their new game. Neither of them said it aloud, but in their own ways, they both knew exactly what was happening- that this date wasn’t just a date, that there were secrets between them as delicate and dangerous as glass.
But despite the guilt simmering under his skin, Sunghoon took a sharp, almost perverse pleasure in it. He enjoyed watching her give in, watched her let herself be led, her eyes flickering with worry yet her body following him willingly. He enjoyed seeing her dolled up in a dress he was certain she’d bought just for tonight, even though she’d skimped on groceries for weeks. He enjoyed the way she hovered close as he played with his car keys, opening the door for her, helping her into the passenger seat, leaning in to fasten her seatbelt while his breath ghosted hot against the soft curve of her neck.
“Where are you taking me?” Y/N asked, her voice quiet and timid, as if she were stepping around invisible tripwires, afraid that one wrong word would trigger an explosion.
“You’ll see,” Sunghoon replied, grinning as he settled into the driver’s seat, his hands confidently gripping the wheel. He didn’t miss the way Y/N’s eyes darted down the length of his body, lingering on the crisp lines of his shirt and tie, the way his biceps flexed beneath the fabric whenever he turned the steering wheel.
He drove her to a high-end restaurant nestled in the wealthier end of the city, its sleek black interior accented with soft golden light that shimmered off crystal glassware and polished marble. Y/N seemed visibly uneasy as they stepped inside, glancing around as if searching for escape routes, clearly wanting to protest. But she swallowed her objections, knowing that to protest too much would be to reveal something she was trying desperately to keep hidden. So she followed Sunghoon to the table he’d reserved, perching on the velvet seat as if afraid to touch anything, letting him handle the menu without protest because she didn’t know what tasted good in a place like this- and because he clearly wanted to be the one in control.
Sunghoon ordered steak and pasta, pairing it with an expensive bottle of red wine, while Y/N nibbled at her food in tiny, hesitant bites. Of course, Sunghoon noticed. He watched every subtle movement of her fork, the way she daintily touched the edge of her lips with her napkin.
“You’re barely eating,” he remarked, his voice low but sharp enough to slice through her quiet pretense.
Her head snapped up, eyes wide.
“Sorry,” she stammered, shaking her head. “Just… a bit nervous.”
“What are you nervous about?” Sunghoon pressed, tilting his head slightly, studying her reaction the way he’d interrogate a suspect.
“Never dated a cop before.”
Sunghoon burst out laughing, throwing his head back, utterly charmed and amused because it was so far from the answer he’d expected.
“No need to be nervous,” he said, leaning forward, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial hush. “I’m here to keep you safe, aren’t I?”
For a moment, Y/N only stared at him, her eyes glassy, lips parted in silent confusion. She didn’t quite know what he meant, and Sunghoon could see her brain scrambling for the safest assumption. But she let herself believe, just a little, that Sunghoon might truly be offering protection.
When she didn’t speak, Sunghoon reached across the table, his fingers brushing the delicate bones of her hand.
“I want to get to know you,” he murmured. “I really do.”
“What do you want to know?” Y/N asked, her voice cautious, each word weighed before it left her lips.
Sunghoon grinned, his sharp canines glinting as he flashed the kind of smile that disarmed suspects in interrogation rooms. “What’s it like teaching kindergarteners?”
A knot seemed to loosen in Y/N’s chest at that, and she began to talk. She spoke about the children she taught, about the mischievous little monsters who made her want to tear her hair out, and the sweet angels who adored learning and followed her around like ducklings. She told stories about art projects gone wrong, about tantrums and lost shoes, and the occasional hellish parent who stormed into parent-teacher meetings breathing fire.
Sunghoon listened, genuinely engrossed. He knew some of those kids by name- their parents, to be specific. He’d either worked with them before or helped them handle a crisis. It was a wealthy neighborhood, after all, and everything was connected in one way or another.
Yet when it came time to talk about himself, Sunghoon remained cautious. He offered only vague glimpses of his work, speaking in generalities, avoiding any detail that might make Y/N panic. Instead, he shifted the conversation toward safer territory- his childhood, the younger sister he adored, the years he’d spent ice skating as a boy before giving it up to chase his dream of becoming a cop.
By the end of the night, Y/N had allowed herself to lower her guard just enough for real laughter to slip out, for genuine warmth to appear in her eyes. Not total trust, but enough that her smile no longer looked forced. On the drive back home, she didn’t pull away when Sunghoon rested his large hand on her thigh, his fingers warm and possessive against the fabric of her dress. And as they rode the elevator upstairs, they shared silent, loaded glances, each of them acutely aware of the dangerous undercurrent swirling between them.
When they reached her door, Sunghoon leaned casually against the frame, lingering, waiting.
“Good night,” he murmured, his voice low and husky. “We should do this more often.”
“We should,” she agreed, offering a smile that might have been genuine- or might have been another carefully constructed mask. And perhaps, Sunghoon thought, it was a bit of both.
That night, Y/N didn’t kiss him. Sunghoon wanted to, badly, but he held himself back. He let her slip inside her apartment, closing the door gently behind her, leaving him standing alone in the hallway.
But when he finally crawled into bed, he fell asleep thinking of her. He couldn’t help it. The memory of her at dinner earlier that evening was too vivid, too intoxicating. His hand instinctively drifted downward, fingers curling around the growing hardness beneath the sheets
She had been sitting across from him, her lips wrapping around the fork as she took a bite of dessert. The way her tongue flicked out to catch a stray crumb, the way her doe eyes locked onto his as if she knew exactly what she was doing- it had driven him wild. And now, here he was, imagining that fork was something else entirely.
His grip tightened around his dick, his breath hitching as he began to stroke himself slowly, the friction sending sparks of pleasure through his body. He closed his eyes, letting the image of her take over. In his mind, it wasn’t a fork between her lips- it was him. Her mouth was warm, wet, and inviting, her tongue swirling around his tip before taking him deeper. He could almost feel the heat of her breath, the way her cheeks would hollow as she sucked him in.
“Fuck,” he muttered under his breath, his hips bucking slightly as he imagined her looking up at him with those innocent eyes, feigning naivety while she coaxed him closer to the edge. The thought alone was enough to make him groan, his hand moving faster now, the rhythm becoming more urgent.
He could see it so clearly- her lips stretched around him, her hands gripping his thighs for balance as she took him deeper, her eyes never leaving his. She would be so good at it, so eager to please, and yet there would be that hint of innocence in her gaze, as if she didn’t know the effect she was having on him. But she did, she had to know. No one could look at him like that and not know what they were doing.
His breathing grew ragged, his body tensing as he neared the edge. He could feel it building, that familiar pressure in his lower abdomen, and he knew he was close. In his mind, she was moaning around him, the vibrations sending shivers down his spine. Her hands were on his hips now, pulling him closer, urging him to let go.
“God, yes,” he whispered, his voice strained as he imagined her swallowing every last drop, her tongue lapping at him greedily as if she couldn’t get enough. The image was too much, and with a low groan, he came, his release spilling over his hand as he rode out the waves of pleasure.
For a moment, he just lay there, his chest rising and falling rapidly as he tried to catch his breath. His mind was still foggy, the image of her lingering even as the reality of what he’d just done settled in. He should feel guilty, maybe even ashamed, but all he felt was a deep, aching need for more.
Because now, more than ever, he was certain- whatever secrets Y/N was hiding… he was going to be the one to uncover them.
The next morning, Y/N stepped into the elevator and felt her pulse spike the instant she saw Sunghoon already inside. He stood tall in his usual work attire, his trousers hugging the firm muscle of his thighs, the crisp white shirt straining ever so slightly against the breadth of his chest and biceps. He looked entirely too handsome for someone whose presence posed such a lethal risk to her carefully balanced life.
Y/N gave him a curt, polite smile, trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy, but Sunghoon simply grinned back at her the way he always did. Except now, there was something new between them- a charged understanding, a connection woven from secrets, lies, and stolen glances.
He leaned closer, so close that she could feel the warmth of his breath against the shell of her ear, and murmured, “you look beautiful today.”
Despite herself, Y/N couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at her lips. She knew she was playing a dangerous game, dancing on a knife’s edge, but part of her thrilled at the attention.
“Thank you,” she said softly. “You look good too.”
A fleeting look of triumph crossed Sunghoon’s eyes, and then the elevator doors opened. He strode out, heading toward the parking lot to start his day, while Y/N lingered behind, heart pounding like a warning drum in her chest.
As soon as Sunghoon’s tail lights disappeared, Y/N hurried out of the building and practically ran the few blocks to the café near her kindergarten. She risked being late- it didn’t matter, not compared to what she needed to do.
Inside the café, tucked into a shadowy booth near the back, Heeseung was waiting for her. He was the same man Sunghoon had seen slipping into her apartment two nights ago, and now his expression was tight with frustration, jaw set as he leaned forward across the table.
“You need to move out,” he said immediately, voice low but edged with urgency. “It’s not safe anymore.”
Y/N dropped into the seat across from him and wrapped her cold fingers around the coffee cup waiting for her. She knew he was right. Every part of her logical brain screamed that she needed to get as far away from Park Sunghoon as possible. But the thought of leaving- of severing whatever twisted connection had begun to blossom between her and Sunghoon- sent a cold dread spiraling through her stomach.
Because somewhere during that date, as Sunghoon had smiled at her with those sharp, predatory eyes, as he’d listened to her stories and brushed his fingers over her hand, Y/N had started falling for him.
“I don’t want to,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Heeseung’s glare sharpened, dark eyes glinting.
“I can easily stop paying rent for that apartment, you know that?” He threatened.
Y/N lifted her chin, a hint of defiance flashing across her features. “Who’s gonna stash your drugs for you then, huh?”
Heeseung fell silent, his mouth snapping shut at once. He stared at her, clearly torn between anger and grudging respect.
“I know how to handle this,” Y/N said firmly, pushing back her chair and standing.
But as she left the café and started the short walk to her kindergarten, she felt the lie settle like a stone in her gut. Because the truth was, her way of handling things had never involved loyalty to anyone except herself.
And if it ever came down to choosing between Heeseung and Sunghoon… Y/N already knew who she was going to choose.
Sunghoon took Y/N on more dates over the following weeks- quiet afternoons in cozy cafés, early morning rented bicycle rides through tree-lined park trails, and elegant dinners in restaurants where the chandeliers glittered like stars overhead. He never let her pay for anything; not a single won left her purse when she was with him. Whether it was coffee, movie tickets, or dinner for two, Sunghoon covered it all without a moment’s hesitation, as though he took pride in spoiling her.
It was probably around the third date that Y/N finally kissed him- they’d come back from a modest dinner, the air between them charged with unspoken tension. It happened as they stood on her doorstep, the warm glow of city lights casting a soft halo around her.
She’d leaned in, her movements tentative yet deliberate, her lips brushing against his in a kiss that was achingly gentle, almost shy. Sunghoon had been instantly obsessed. He couldn’t get enough of her mouth- the way it felt so impossibly soft against his, the faint sweetness of her breath mingling with his own, the way her delicate fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt as if she were anchoring herself to him. Even when she tried to pull away, her cheeks flushed and a nervous giggle escaping her lips, he’d caught her wrist and dragged her back in for another, deeper this time, his hunger for her impossible to ignore. The way she melted into him, her body pressing closer, only fueled his desire, leaving him craving more.
Everything seemed perfect- at least, on the surface. Their relationship grew into something that might have seemed genuine to anyone watching. But Y/N’s secret life continued unchanged. Her method of storing Heeseung’s product remained the same, except now he could no longer visit on weekends. She’d given him her spare key, instructing him only to come during the weekdays, when she knew both she and Sunghoon would be safely occupied at work.
Unbeknownst to Y/N, Sunghoon was still investigating her in the shadows, despite how natural and affectionate their relationship appeared. He kept quietly collecting information, determined to trace every thread connecting her to the local drug ring, wrestling each day with the conflict between his growing feelings for her and his loyalty to the badge he wore.
A few weeks later, it was career day at Y/N’s kindergarten- a day her students had been buzzing about for weeks. Each child was supposed to bring in a parent or family member to talk about their profession, and Sunghoon lit up the moment he heard about it. He insisted on coming, eager to introduce himself as the policeman Y/N was dating, and she hadn’t found it in herself to refuse. There was something sweet about imagining her students meeting him.
On the morning of career day, Sunghoon arrived at the kindergarten looking painfully handsome, dressed in a perfectly pressed shirt with his badge clipped to his belt. He crouched beside rows of tiny chairs, introducing himself with a wide grin and explaining in gentle, animated tones what it meant to be a detective.
“Sometimes, I help find people who are lost,” he said, making big hand gestures that made the kids giggle. “Other times, I solve mysteries. Like a real-life superhero.”
Y/N watched him from the side, arms crossed over her chest, biting back a smile as her class practically vibrated with excitement.
One little boy raised his hand and asked very seriously,
“Do you have a gun?”
Sunghoon paused, lips twitching as he tried not to laugh. “Yes. But it stays in my holster, because being safe is the most important part of my job.”
Another child asked if he’d ever chased a bad guy.
“Once,” Sunghoon admitted, eyes wide and conspiratorial. “But he ran slower than me, so I caught him.”
The kids erupted into cheers and applause, clapping their hands, utterly enthralled. Y/N felt a twinge in her chest as she watched him- he looked so natural with the kids, so effortlessly charming. She wondered, briefly, if this was what a normal life with him could look like.
But Y/N didn’t realize the predicament she’d unknowingly set for herself by letting Sunghoon anywhere near her workplace.
Because after career day ended, Sunghoon insisted on grabbing a coffee at a nearby café. It was the same café where Heeseung usually hung around- the same one he’d started making Y/N meet him at since it had become too risky for him to visit her apartment.
Panic coiled hot and tight in Y/N’s chest as she followed Sunghoon out of the kindergarten. She wracked her brain for an excuse to drag him somewhere else, but nothing came to mind that wouldn’t sound suspicious. So she kept quiet, trailing behind him with her eyes wide and anxious.
They stepped into the café, and immediately, Y/N’s gaze darted around the softly lit interior. And there, in a corner booth, was Heeseung- slouched over his phone, absently stirring melting ice in his cold coffee.
The moment they entered, Heeseung looked up and locked eyes with Y/N. A split-second of surprise flickered across his face, quickly replaced by cold calculation. Without missing a beat, he closed his phone, slipped from the booth, and exited the café as casually as if he’d simply gotten bored. He didn’t even spare Sunghoon a second glance.
Y/N’s heart thundered in her chest. She didn’t know if Sunghoon had noticed the brief exchange. Maybe he was too engrossed in flipping through the menu, his fingers trailing over the glossy pages. Or maybe he had noticed and was choosing not to mention it yet.
They’d gone grocery shopping together on a breezy Sunday afternoon when the sun hung low and gold outside the windows of the upscale supermarket near their building.
Sunghoon had suggested it so casually, saying he needed to restock his fridge, and Y/N had agreed, telling herself it was normal- just another thing couples did. But the moment they stepped inside, Sunghoon took control of the cart, one hand wrapped firmly around the handle as he guided it through the aisles with the confidence of a man who’d never worried about a price tag in his life.
“Okay,” he said, glancing over his shoulder at her with a grin. “Tell me everything you like.”
Y/N blinked at him, caught off guard.
“Everything I… like?”
“Snacks. Candy. Drinks. Anything you’ve ever wanted to try.”
Y/N hesitated, trailing a few steps behind him, feeling oddly exposed under the bright grocery store lights.
“No, it’s fine,” she murmured. “I don’t need anything.”
But Sunghoon was already steering them straight into the snacks aisle. He started plucking brightly colored packages from the shelves- imported chocolates in gold foil, novelty-flavored chips she’d only ever stared at longingly, matcha cookies, fruit gummies shaped like tiny peaches. He tossed each item into the cart without even checking the price, looking over at her with that mischievous glint in his eyes every time.
“These look good, right?” He said, waving a bag of truffle-flavored popcorn.
“Sunghoon, I don’t even know if I’d like that,” she laughed, trying to grab it back from the cart.
“So try it,” he insisted, gently batting her hand away. “If you hate it, I’ll eat it.”
She watched the pile in the cart grow higher and higher, feeling both giddy and embarrassed.
“I can’t afford all this,” she finally said, voice soft.
Sunghoon stopped pushing the cart and turned to face her fully, expression gentle. He reached out and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “You’re with me,” he murmured. “I’ll take care of it,” he leaned closer, lowering his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “Besides… what’s the point of money if I can’t spoil my girlfriend a little?”
Heat rushed to Y/N’s cheeks. She tried to protest again, a sense of guilt resting in her stomach, but Sunghoon was already back to tossing more snacks into the cart- fizzy Japanese sodas, tiny jars of imported fruit jam, and gourmet instant noodles that cost as much as a proper meal.
Later, as they stood in line at the checkout, Y/N lingered awkwardly to the side while Sunghoon handed over his sleek black credit card without blinking.
When they finally stepped outside, grocery bags rustling in his arms, he nudged her playfully.
“Next time, I’m buying you every flavor of ice cream in the store.”
And though Y/N tried to roll her eyes and brush it off, she couldn’t help smiling. For a fleeting moment, wrapped in Sunghoon’s attention, she almost let herself believe she could have this- him, the life he offered, and the simple joy of letting him grocery shop for her.
The two-month mark of their relationship was looming. Everything between them had settled into a rhythm that felt almost dangerously normal. Too quiet, too perfect for the reality simmering beneath the surface- a kindergarten teacher who hid drugs in her apartment, and a detective sergeant whose job was to lock people like her away.
Y/N had convinced herself it was fine to leave it unspoken. She wouldn’t bring it up if Sunghoon didn’t. Why risk unraveling the delicate thread of perfection she’d come to crave? She allowed herself to pretend, for just a little longer, that they were like any other couple falling in love.
But that fragile illusion shattered the evening of their two-month anniversary.
Sunghoon knocked on her door, and when Y/N opened it, she froze at the sight of the manila file clutched in his hand. Her name was scrawled across the front in bold letters that seemed to scream at her in the dim hallway light.
Sunghoon’s face was unreadable as he stood there, towering in her doorway, eyes dark and glittering like polished obsidian.
“I know who you are,” he said.
For a moment, Y/N couldn’t move, couldn’t speak. Of course he knew. Deep down, she’d always known he’d find out. He was a detective, and she’d been his curiosity from the very beginning. But still- what was the point of the dates, of the laughter, of pretending to be normal? What had all of it meant if it came down to this?
“Sunghoon- ”
But he held up a hand, cutting her off, his voice as calm and steady as it was when reading someone their rights.
“I have two options right now,” he said. “I can do my job. Throw you in jail and shut down the entire drug ring you’re involved in.”
He paused, and in that tiny, trembling silence, Y/N thought she might die if he didn’t finish his sentence.
“Or,” Sunghoon continued, his voice softening just slightly, “you promise to be with me. And I can make all of this go away. You’ll be safe and free. The rest of them- Heeseung and everyone else- will go to jail. And I can protect you. No one will be able to hurt you.”
Y/N stared at him, heart pounding so violently she could feel it echoing in her throat. And the terrible truth was, she’d already known her choice. She’d known it even before he gave her the ultimatum.
She didn’t need to say a word. Sunghoon could read her answer in the way her eyes began to glisten, in the way her shoulders sagged as though in surrender. Because what else could she choose? The man she loved, who promised her a life without fear and hardship- or loyalty to a criminal world she’d only ever joined out of desperation for a little extra cash?
Sunghoon stepped closer, crowding her into the doorway, the file still clutched in his hand.
“It’ll just be you and me,” he murmured. “No more secrets.”
And Y/N let herself believe him. Because despite everything, the lies, the manipulation, the dark line he’d just drawn between freedom and ruin- he was still the man who bought her snacks she couldn’t afford. The man who smiled at her in the elevator like she was the only person in the world.
She didn’t need to say it. He already knew.
With a sudden burst of desperation, she grabbed the front of his shirt and yanked him inside. The folder fell from his hand, landing with a soft thud on the floor as she slammed the door shut behind them. Her lips crashed into his, hungry, urgent, and he responded instantly, his hands gripping her waist like he was afraid she might disappear.
His mouth was hot against hers, demanding, and she melted into him, her body pressing against his as if she could erase the distance between them. His fingers tangled in her hair, pulling her closer, and she moaned softly into his mouth, the sound swallowed by his kiss.
He broke away just long enough to breathe her name, his voice rough. “Y/N…”
She didn’t let him finish. Her hands fumbled with the buttons of his shirt, desperate to feel his skin against hers. He helped her, shrugging it off and tossing it aside before his hands were on her again, sliding down her back to grip her hips. His touch was electric, sending shivers through her body as he pulled her flush against him.
She could feel the hard length of him pressing against her thigh, and a thrill shot through her. Her fingers traced the lines of his chest, feeling the muscles tense under her touch as she leaned in to kiss him again. This time, it was slower, deeper, and she could taste the hunger in him, the need that matched her own.
His hands moved to the hem of her dress, lifting it slowly, teasingly, until it pooled at her feet. She stood before him in nothing but her lace underwear, her skin flushed with desire. His eyes darkened as he took her in, his gaze raking over her body like he was memorizing every curve.
“You’re so fucking beautiful,” he murmured, his voice thick.
She reached for him again, pulling him close as her hands slid down to unbuckle his belt. He let out a low groan as she freed him from his pants, his cock springing free, hard and ready. Her fingers wrapped around him, stroking slowly, and he hissed through his teeth, his hands tightening on her hips.
“Y/N,” he growled, his voice strained. “If you keep doing that…”
She smiled up at him, a wicked glint in her eyes. “What? You’ll what?”
In one swift motion, he lifted her off her feet and carried her to the couch, laying her down gently before climbing over her. His lips found hers again, hot and insistent, as his hands roamed her body, leaving trails of fire in their wake. He kissed down her neck, nipping at her skin lightly before moving lower, his tongue tracing a path between her breasts.
“You have no idea how long I've waited for this.”
She arched into him, her hands tangling in his hair as he took one nipple into his mouth, sucking gently before switching to the other. Her breath came in short gasps as pleasure coursed through her, her body aching for more. His tongue swirled around the sensitive peak, teasing and tugging until she let out a soft moan, her fingers tightening in his hair. He responded with a low growl, the vibration against her skin sending shivers down her spine.
He moved to the other breast, his lips capturing her nipple with the same intensity, his teeth grazing lightly before he sucked hard. She gasped, her back arching off the couch as a jolt of pleasure shot through her. His hands roamed her body, one sliding down to grip her hip while the other cupped her breast, his thumb brushing over the hardened peak he’d just abandoned. The dual sensations were overwhelming, and she could feel herself growing wetter with every touch.
“Sunghoon,” she whispered, her voice trembling with need. “Please…”
He didn’t need to be told twice. His mouth left her breast, trailing hot, open-mouthed kisses down her stomach, each one leaving a mark of his possession. She squirmed beneath him, her hips lifting instinctively as he moved lower, his hands spreading her thighs wider. His breath was warm against her inner thigh, and she could feel the anticipation building, coiling tight in her core.
When his tongue finally touched her, fingers holding her oanties to the side, it was like a spark igniting a fire. He licked her slowly, savoring every inch of her as if she were the most exquisite thing he’d ever tasted. She cried out, her hands gripping the cushions beneath her as he teased her clit with the tip of his tongue, flicking it lightly before swirling around it in slow circles. The pleasure was almost too much, and she could feel herself teetering on the edge, desperate for release.
“I’m close,” she gasped, her voice breaking as she felt herself teetering on the brink. “So close…”
He didn’t let up, his fingers moving in slow, deliberate circles inside her while his mouth continued its relentless assault. She could feel every stroke, every flick of his tongue, sending shockwaves of pleasure through her body. Her legs shook, her toes curling as the pressure inside her built to a fever pitch. She was so close, so close, but he held her there, on the brink of edge, drawing out the pleasure until she thought she might scream.
And then, with one final, firm suck on her clit, she shattered. Her body convulsed, waves of pleasure crashing over her as she came undone beneath him. He didn’t stop, drawing out her orgasm until she was trembling and breathless, her legs shaking around his shoulders. When he finally pulled away, he looked up at her with a satisfied smirk, his lips glistening.
He didn’t make her wait for more. He stripped off her panties and positioned himself between her legs, his eyes locked on hers as he pushed inside her slowly, inch by torturous inch. She moaned loudly, her nails digging into his shoulders as he filled her completely.
He began to move, his thrusts deep and deliberate, each one sending waves of pleasure through her body. She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer as he buried himself inside her again and again. His name spilled from her lips like a prayer, each syllable trembling with need.
“You’re mine,” he breathed against her ear, his voice rough with possessiveness. “Say it.”
“I’m yours,” she gasped, her body trembling as he hit that spot inside her that made her see stars. “Only yours.”
He kissed her fiercely, swallowing her moans as he drove into her harder, faster. His hands gripped her hips with a possessive intensity, pulling her closer with each thrust, as if he couldn’t get deep enough. She could feel the tension building inside her, coiling tighter and tighter, a storm of pleasure threatening to break. Her nails dug into his back, leaving faint marks as she clung to him, her body arching to meet his every movement.
“Sunghoon,” she gasped, her voice trembling with need. “Don’t stop.”
He didn’t.
His pace quickened, each stroke hitting that gummy spot inside her that made her vision blur. She could feel the heat pooling in her core, spreading through her limbs like wildfire. Her breath came in short, ragged gasps, her heart pounding in time with the rhythm of their bodies. He leaned down, capturing her lips in another searing kiss, his tongue tangling with hers as if he wanted to consume her completely.
She could feel herself coming close, the knot inside her building to an unbearable peak. Her legs tightened around his waist, pulling him even deeper, and she let out a broken cry as the second wave of pleasure crashed over her. Her body convulsed around him, every nerve alight with ecstasy as she came undone. Wave after wave of sensation washed over her, leaving her trembling and breathless.
He groaned against her neck, his thrusts growing erratic as he chased his own release. “Y/N,” he growled, his voice rough with desperation. “I can’t- I need-”
“Yes,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of their ragged breathing. “Please.”
With one final, deep thrust, he buried himself inside her, his body shuddering as he spilled himself with a low, guttural moan. She held him close, her fingers threading through his hair as he collapsed against her, his weight pressing her into the couch. For a moment, they lay there in silence, their hearts beating in sync, their bodies still connected.
He followed soon after, his hips stuttering as he spilled himself inside her with a low groan. He collapsed on top of her, his breath hot against her skin as they both struggled to catch their breath.
For a moment, they lay there in silence, their bodies still intertwined, the air thick with the heat of their shared passion. Sunghoon’s chest rose and fell against hers, his breath warm on her skin. He crawled back up her body, kissing her as he settled over her once more.
“You made the right choice,” he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
She smiled up at him, her heart swelling with something she hadn’t felt in a long time- hope. “I know.”
Sunghoon burned every last piece of evidence he had on her. He did it methodically, late one night in his kitchen, feeding pages into a metal waste bin and watching flames lick across her name until all that remained was blackened ash. Whatever files the precinct held were quietly erased, hidden beneath layers of bureaucracy that only a seasoned detective like him could navigate.
Meanwhile, Heeseung and everyone else tied to the drug ring were arrested in swift, targeted raids. Sunghoon had overseen the entire operation himself, never once mentioning Y/N’s name, ensuring she was invisible in the official reports. It was over, clean and final.
A few days later, Y/N packed up her apartment- what little she owned- and moved in with Sunghoon. His place felt impossibly spacious compared to hers, sleek and modern, filled with warm light and expensive furniture. It smelled faintly of his cologne and the fresh laundry he was meticulous about folding.
For the first few nights, she lay awake beside him, staring at the ceiling while he slept with an arm thrown across her waist, heavy and possessive even in unconsciousness.
It was a strange kind of freedom she’d bought for herself- a life where she didn’t have to hide, where no one knocked on her door asking for packages or money. A life where Sunghoon slipped her credit cards and told her to buy whatever she wanted, where he brought her coffee in bed and kissed her temple like she was the most precious thing he’d ever possessed.
But there was still a flicker of fear buried deep in her chest, a knowledge that the man beside her had rewritten the law to keep her safe- and that he’d do it again if she ever thought of leaving.
Yet every morning, Sunghoon would wake, press a kiss to her hair, and murmur,
“Good morning, baby.”
And Y/N would smile back, whispering her reply, letting herself pretend- for as long as she could- that this was all she’d ever wanted.

Simple Math / Part Twenty
Simple Math masterlist

Ghost/Soap/female reader 4.1k words - AO3 Tags: 18+ mdni, nurse reader, feelings of fear and panic, PTSD, references to domestic violence. Trauma, blood. Flashbacks. Dubious ethics and morality, dark content.
“Are ye comin’ inside?”
“I need a minute.” He needs more than a minute. He needs days, weeks. Needs to wind back the clock and slam it into the ground, over and over again, until the springs and hands and tiny numbers splinter into pieces.
Failure. He failed. They failed.
They failed you.
“Wait, go back.” The video pauses and rolls backward, all the way until Simon tells Kate to stop it when you step out of the elevator. “What’s in her hand?”
“Dinnae,” Johnny’s nose is practically touching the screen.
“The recording is pretty low quality; I’ve tried enhancing it with no luck.” Kate’s voice crackles through the speakers from the other side of the laptop, the other side of the world. This is the first time they’ve managed to get a hold of her in weeks, and even now, the connection is half static.
“Looks like a piece of paper, or a picture?” Johnny murmurs, leaning back.
“This is just before she bolts,” the playback continues, and they watch as you walk down the hall, bright smile fading when you reach the corner. “She’s here for a minute and then runs…” Simon is glued to the screen, forward on his haunches, and Johnny rubs his back, kneading his knuckles into that ever-present knot in his shoulder. He watches your head turn, your back stiffen, and Johnny sucks in a breath.
Kate nods the confirmation. She’s already put the puzzle together.
Graves.
You’re reacting to Graves, seeing Graves. Entire demeanor shifting, changing from their sweet, smart girl with newfound confidence, to a deer, shocked and startled, running from a scope.
Graves.
It’s simple math. Plain as day. You take one look at where he’s come around the corner, running his mouth, chewing that fucking gum, and split.
It’s Graves.
And it all makes sense.
“-you don’t know what he’s capable of. You don’t understand. He’s chased me across the world, he always finds me, no matter what, no matter what I do”
“He’s in the military. Some sort of security work, department of defense, or something. He never really talked about it.”
“He always finds me.”
“He has resources. Has followed me across the globe more than once. My only saving grace is that when he has to work, he has to work, and it’s usually for long chunks of time.”
“I’m originally from Texas.”
Texas. Texas. Texas.
There was a conversation, months ago, that slipped through Simon’s fingers. A wisp of a suspicion, one pushed away by doubt, by disbelief.
Not possible. A coincidence.
He was wrong, about being wrong. He was right, all along.
Johnny nearly flips the table before Simon urges him back down. “Where… where does she go after this?”
“She gets the car,” Simon answers, timeline clicking into place, “she borrows that gits car, comes home, packs a bag, and runs.” Johnny’s hands are shaking, fingers white against his knees.
They’ll kill him. He’ll paint the walls with Phillip’s blood. They’ll do what should have done in the first place.
He should have protected you, should have seen it all clearly. Should have applied more pressure and made you crack, if only for your own safety.
He failed.
They failed.
“That piece o’ shite, I’ll-“
“Kill him.” Simon finishes simply, and they exchange a look. A promise without words. Simon will shatter his skull between his palms if he has to.
Johnny nods. The gears are already turning. Are they so different from a man who has stopped at nothing to drag you back to him?
No.
They'd burn the world for you, to protect you, to bring you home to them.
Kate clears her throat. “There’s more.” More? “I was checking some records, looking at her last clock out, when the last paycheck was paid out and I pulled her personal information, her medical chart.” Kate’s tone is wary, hesitant, and Johnny straightens.
“What is it?” There’s a pause on the other end of the line, unsure trepidation that’s so unlike Kate the hair on the back of Simon’s neck stands up.
“Kate…”
“She’s pregnant.” You could hear a pin drop. Johnny’s rage turns to panic, and an ocean of blood rushes in Simon’s ears.
“She’s- she’s what?”
“She’s pregnant. By now, she’s probably twenty weeks, maybe? I’m not sure. I don’t know much about those things, but her chart notes say both of them are… were in good health. Low risk.”
“Twenty weeks,” Johnny echoes, faraway look in his eyes.
A baby. You’re pregnant.
Pregnant. Pregnant and alone, and scared. Running away.
From them.
Simon’s trying to wrap his head around it, but he can’t. The information doesn’t fit. It doesn’t make sense.
“If she’s twenty weeks, then she’s been pregnant since before she left.” Johnny’s talking to himself at this point, because Simon can’t force his mouth to make words. “Why keep it a secret?” Kate is telling them something about index hits and cameras, but it all amounts to nothing after you board the train, and Simon still fails to make a sound.
And then, she piles it on.
“Graves is in the wind.” Simon’s heart stops like he’s been struck by lightning, electricity jolting him alive.
“How?”
“He went offline. No traceable activity in the last week or so. Last known location was Texas. After that, I’m not sure. Yet.”
‘He can’t be in the wind,” Johnny whisper shouts, all too aware of Penny upstairs, napping. “We need to know where he is. Now.”
“I’m doing all I can. He has resources too, you know. A lot of them.” The screen goes black for a second, before she reappears, lips pressed into a grim line. “I have to go. I’ll keep you updated. Sorry guys.”
They can only nod.
It’s clear as day, what happened now. How you saw them in the hallway, how you drew the conclusion, one that seemed so painfully obvious, connected the dots that appeared in your mind, stringing together bits and pieces until it all made sense.
He knows what will have to happen now. They both do.
Simon presses his forehead to Johnny’s. “We’ll find her.”
“An’ bring her home.”
“No matter what.”
The rest is left unsaid.
You’re having a dream.
It’s a lovely one, more of a memory than anything else, but a dream, nonetheless.
“This still feels like a bad idea.”
“Isnae, ye’ll do great bun. Jus’ the ‘hawk now.” You’ve already finished the sides of his head, which were easy enough, but using actual scissors to cut hair is well outside your wheelhouse.
“What if I mess it up?”
“It’s jus’ hair, pretty girl. It grows.”
“How’s it going out here?” Simon leans out the sliding door, Penny in his arms, and you try to plead with him with wide, nervous eyes. He chuckles. “Looks good so far.”
“See?” Johnny smiles, one of the big ones that stretches his whole face and makes your knees weak. Penny loves them too, and she claps her hands together, giggling.
“But… I don’t… I’m going to mess it up.” Johnny stands, warm hands on your arms.
“Ye could shave me bald and wouldnae mess it up, bun.” You nod, but the acid, noxious taste of worry is still there on your tongue.
“I just… I…” you’re starting to shake a little, fingers squeezing together. He tugs you into his chest, kisses your temple.
“Ye’re alright.”
“I know.” You do know. You’re safe. They’d never hurt you, never betray your trust or even yell at you, but muscle memory doesn’t forget. “I know, I’m sorry.”
“Ye dinnae have to be sorry.”
“It’s okay, bunny.” Simon murmurs, but it’s not.
Is this how you’ll spend your whole life? Afraid? Shaking?
No.
Not anymore.
“If I ruin his hair… it’s not my fault.” Simon chuckles.
“We’ll blame him.” You turn back to Johnny and put your hands on his shoulders, taking a deep breath, surveying the mop of unruly brown strands, and he covers one of yours with his own.
“It’s okay. If ye-“
“No, I can. I can do it.” You don’t know why you’re so nervous. It’s just a hair cut, for crying out loud, but for some reason it feels like plunging into the deep end of a pool. “Okay,” you breathe, making the first snip. He nods encouragingly and you roll your shoulders.
“See? Not so bad?”
“Not so bad.” You cut again and again, trying to manage it all into a proper length, shaping as best you can.
Each snip, something grows. Your hands tremble a little less, your jaw unclenches, lips flexing upward into your cheeks. You breathe deeper.
When Johnny turns around, he doesn’t care about his hair, or the slightly uneven chunks, or the fresh clippings on his shirt.
He cups your face, kissing you before pulling away to rub his thumb across your cheek.
“There she is.”
Spring rain. There’s nothing like it.
It washes away the gloom of winter. It’s the turning of a page, the spine of a brand-new book snapped open with a splintering crack. Cabin fever becomes walks in the park, lunches and coffees outside, hanging out on balconies and patios.
Dead things turned to soil now sprouting new life.
Like you, you guess.
You’ve been dead before. If someone looked really closely, they could see it in your eyes. The grey of decay, the separation of iris and pupil. Dead and brought back not quite right, every time. Sally, stitched together incorrectly, the wrong pieces of patchwork, poorly aligned.
Every time he ripped another piece of you away, you found a different one, one less like you, to put in its place.
Every time, until you weren’t you at all. Until you were a girl in a mirror. Until you were a ghost.
It makes sense that you don’t know yourself now, haven’t known for years. On the run, there’s not a lot of time to stop and consider things like that, those pieces. Coffee or tea? Chocolate cake or vanilla? Do you like snow? Do you like the beach?
Do you like yourself?
You could have had these answers, you think. Could have learned these things, if it hadn’t turned out the way it did. If Simon and Johnny hadn’t turned out to be a hydra, mouths open, waiting to devour you.
Sunbeam kicks. They nail you in the bladder, and you wince, rubbing over the crest of your belly. “You’re killing me, you know that?” You feel like you’ve been hit by a bus, every day. The aches and pains are never ending, your back and hips screaming by the end of a shift. You can’t sleep, the heartburn makes it hard to eat, you’re never comfortable.
The whole time, you curse them, Simon and Johnny.
Their fault, it’s their fault.
And yours too.
But no matter how tired, how sore, how cranky you are, you can’t bring yourself to regret it, and in your dreams, it’s like all the bad, all the awful betrayal didn’t even happen. You dream of a family with them, Penny holding her little sibling, the five you together. It’s all been buried in your mind, too deep and nearly impossible to dig out. The visions of them, the longing, the good memories. You’re infested with them.
You didn’t want this. You wanted them, you wanted it all, and that might be the hardest thing about it. You weren’t given a choice, this decision was made for you, taken from you, just like almost everything else.
Except little sunbeam. You wanted them, chose them, will choose them, over and over, forever, keep them safe, make sure they know they’re loved.
No matter what.
It’s the train, always the train.
Not the long rail train, the commuter train. The one that takes you to and from work, the one that’s sometimes-standing room only, though most people offer you their seat, which is surprisingly kind, compared to where you’re from.
Regardless, you feel the gaze on the train, and no matter how hard you scan, dissect, watch the people around you, there’s nothing. All three faces, three sets of eyes, three profiles, are never anywhere to be seen.
It’s overwhelming, unsettling. The stress of this prickling unease combined with the stress and physical strain of your job is taking its toll on both you and Sunbeam, as the midwife likes to remind you.
Take it easy, take some time off, try to relax. Stay hydrated, eat well.
Yeah… okay.
You rub your belly anxiously, tugging your hood farther over your head, trying to look around without being so obvious.
“Excuse me?” You jolt, startled by a man standing at your elbow, pointing to a vacant spot on a bench. “Would you like my seat?” His smile is subtle, matching an encouraging but not overly intrusive demeanor.
“Sure, thank you so much.” He nods, stepping to the side, into the space between the seat and the divider, close to the door. You try to swing your backpack in front of you, but it gets caught, and he snags it before it falls. “Sorry, thanks.”
“Of course, no problem.” You give him another glance. Really handsome, rich brown eyes you could get lost in. He’s got a baseball cap on, but it’s not pulled down over his face like your hood, he’s not trying to hide. “I’ll move when your stop comes up.”
“Okay, it’s not for a while so, no worries.” He might be kind, but he’s still a stranger, and you’re not going to divulge anything specific. Stranger danger.
Not everyone is a threat but…
“How far along are you?” You blink.
“Uh, about twenty-five weeks, give or take a few days.” He nods.
“My wife is due next week; it’s been a rollercoaster.”
“Yeah, it’s not the easiest.” You laugh, a little apprehensive, but also, a little glad, secretly, to have a casual conversation with someone. He sticks his hand out.
“I’m Kyle.” Your tongue rolls with the practiced name you’ve memorized, the one you’ve drilled into yourself over and over again. “Nice to meet you.”
“Yeah, you too.” The next stop is announced, and he moves gracefully, reaching for his bag and tugging it over his shoulder, barely giving you a second glance.
“This is me, have a good day.”
“Thanks.” He doesn’t look over his shoulder at you when he’s getting off, doesn’t watch you through the window from the platform. He’s completely uninterested, and you breathe a sigh of relief.
The box is delivered on a Tuesday.
The Scottish government gives you almost everything you need. Clothes, thermometers, baby books, a changing mat, a mattress, a sheet, a blanket, the list goes on. The box even doubles as a bassinet.
You cry over it. Rifling through everything, tears drip down your cheeks and you bury your face in your hands. You didn’t get to share an ultrasound with anyone, or have a shower, or hold someone’s hand to your belly as sunbeam kicked, but there’s this. A box full of baby stuff, a box that says no matter how hard it is, you and sunbeam will have a good start. Even Sunbeam’s room is halfway sorted at this point, crib set up, dresser half stocked with clothes, collection of diapers and burp cloths and bottles starting to pile up in various places in their room. You’ve made it comfortable, slowly, mix matched furniture and all.
Every day feels like a year, but as each one passes, you slowly adjust to a new normal, a new life. Something you made, again, from scratch, for yourself, your survival.
And now, for Sunbeam.
One day, maybe it will feel like home.
You really need to stop buying so much crap at the store.
You practically have to drag your grocery loot into the elevator, bags overflowing with fruit, vegetables, cans of formula. Random cleaning products, stuff for baby proofing, a new candle.
Apparently, some call this nesting. You just call it annoying.
You lean against the wall and close your eyes for a moment, shifting your weight to alleviate the pressure on your spine.
Thirty weeks.
Ten weeks left.
Ten weeks left. It’s wild to even think about, to even say to yourself, or out loud. You’re going to be a mom in ten weeks. Going to have a whole human depending on you for every single thing, in ten weeks.
You’ll be alone, with a newborn, in ten weeks.
Alone.
It still aches. Stings. Salt in the wound-
Lit end of a cigarette against your skin.
You instinctively cup your belly, thumb rubbing over where one of your burn scars has been stretched by Sunbeam, and shiver.
You’re fine. You’re safe. Get it together.
“We’re home!” You announce to no one, no one except Gus the goldfish who’s swimming circles around his bowl. You got him two weeks ago on an impulse, following a pathetic, sad desire all the way to the pet store.
It’d be nice to have something to come home to.
You tap a few flakes into the water and watch him gobble them up, oddly soothed by his presence in the flat.
This is how far you’ve fallen. Taking comfort in a damn goldfish.
You blow out a breath and fall onto the couch, swinging your legs up onto the cushions, dragging the pillows under your ankles, or what used to be your ankles. They’re more like overstuffed sausages now, tops of your sneakers cutting into your skin. Every chance you get, you’re finding places to sit at work, caught yourself leaning most of your weight on your patient’s beds, more than once. Thankfully, your coworkers are overwhelmingly understanding.
And when you come home, you do this. Collapse on the couch. Talk to a goldfish, or Sunbeam, or both.
The oddest trio: Mom, baby, goldfish.
You manage to limit yourself to three bites of ice cream before putting the carton away in the freezer. You’re supposed to be watching your sugar intake, apparently, not because you’re at risk for gestational diabetes, but because Sunbeam is already projected to be on the bigger side.
You look mournfully at container, spoon still in hand.
One more. What’s it going to hurt? One more bite isn’t going to turn Sunbeam into a giant, it’s-
Knuckles rap against your door.
Your blood goes cold, colder than ice, and you instinctively find the floor, crouching by the fridge, using it to shield yourself, keeping away from the door’s direct line of sight.
The knocking gets louder.
Someone’s saying something on the other side of the door, but you can’t hear it over the buzzing, beeping sound in your ears.
How.
How? How did it happen so fast? Where did you fuck up?
The fear you once felt for yourself pales in comparison to the true fear you feel now. You’re supposed to protect Sunbeam, supposed to keep them safe.
You’re supposed to be a mom.
A sob claws its way out, and you clap your palm over your mouth, agony squeezing your heart, panic clutching your throat in a vise, choking off your air, throttling you until you’re gasping.
You should run, should sprint into the bedroom and grab the gun from under your mattress, should start crawling out the window to the fire escape.
You should do these things, but instead, you’re trapped, immobile, watching with horror as the deadbolt turns horizontal, sliding the lock free with a bloodcurdling click.
Your baby. You were supposed to keep your baby safe.
You failed.
You stand, so unsteady you have to support your weight by leaning against the counter. The only thing in here are kitchen knives, and you rip two from the block, one hiding behind your back, the other brandished in front of your body like a sword.
You’re going to die.
But not without a fight.
Tears wet your cheeks. “I’m sorry,” you choke, sliding a hand over little Sunbeam, “I’m so- so sorry.”
The creak of the door handle is unmistakable, a metal whine scraping against the frame. You close your eyes.
“Bunny.”
Your heart stops.
The men you thought love you are standing just inside your kitchen, the sight of them turning your stomach, their eyes flicking between you and the shiny, sharp knife in your hand.
Johnny inches forward, his voice a low, gentle murmur, one that cracks your heart. “It’s okay pretty girl, we’re here to take ye home.”
“Get away from me.” The knife is practically rattling in your hand.
"It's alright. We’d never hurt ye, either of ye. We know what ye saw and-“
“N-no,” you sob, voice cracking, shoulders shaking, “don’t come near me.”
“Put that down, sweet girl, it’s alright.” Simon edges around the counter, caution and wary weighing his steps. They’re supposed to be muffled you think, soft, but they ring so loud.
“Stop!”
“Just let us explain, give us a minute-“
“I saw you! I saw you w-with him.” Your vision is blurred by tears, and you look down at your belly, desperate. “Just let us go, please. Don’t- don’t let him-“
“Listen to me, sweetheart. We have nothing to do with Phillip.” His name makes your flinch, and you inch backwards.
“You know him.”
“We do. He tried to kill us, betrayed us, on a mission. Nearly succeeded with Johnny.” The words conflict, mash together into a scramble you don’t understand. It doesn’t make sense.
More lies.
“I don’t believe you.”
“I know, I know you don’t. I wouldn’t if I was in your position either, but we’re telling the truth.” You shake your head.
“No. You’re just… you’re just trying to trick me.”
“We’re not,” Johnny murmurs, “We’ve always told ye the truth, bun. And we’d never hurt ye.” He steps forward. It’s too close, way too close, and you pivot, both knives still clutched in your hands.
“Put them down.” Simon instructs, a little bit of steel in his voice now. He can obviously see the one behind your back, and your heart starts to sink.
There’s no way out. You should have run when you had the chance.
Stupid.
The girl in the mirror stays silent. She says nothing.
For all you know, she’s dead already. Killing blow dealt by your own hand.
You think about Sunbeam, all warm and safe, protected from the world, and despair swells in your chest, an entire ocean beneath your feet, waiting to swallow you up, drag you down and drown you.
“Now, sweetheart. We don’t want you to hurt yourself.” You laugh. It’s a sickly, nervous thing, too tinny and high pitched.
You’re falling apart. You’re not a fighter, you’re a runner, shot lame in a race rigged against you from the beginning. They’re closing in, wolves stalking the bleeding lamb between them, predators about to fall on prey.
“Don’t,” whisper, fingers tightening around the knife in front of your body, unable to hold it steady through the trembling.
“Bunny, listen to us, please.” Johnny is reaching and you get trapped in his gaze, spiraling into the swirl of misery and fear, mirroring your own. “I love ye, we love ye. Ye belong with us, at home, where we can keep ye safe.” You slam your eyes shut, trying to block him out. “I’ve loved ye since the day I opened m’eyes and saw ye leaning over the bed. We’d never hurt ye, we jus’ want to take ye home.”
Out of the corner of your eye, Simon moves. One powerful, huge step, and he’s on you, grabbing your arm, applying pressure to your knuckles to release the knife.
You scream. It’s instinct. Everything shuts down, narrowing down to one objective.
Run.
“Johnny,” he half shouts over your keening, holding gentle pressure against your arm as you try to rip yourself free. “Shhh, it’s okay, you’re okay.” You thrash, trying to twist out of his grip, shoulder shrieking in pain, and he goes with your momentum, providing slack so there’s no tension in your arm. “Stop, you’re going to hurt yourself sweetheart, you’re okay.”
You’re not.
You’re not okay. You’ll never be okay.
The walls close in, and it all becomes so clear. Your future, what will happen if they take you, if you leave here with them.
They’ll take Sunbeam. They’ll turn you over to Phillip, throw you out like trash, and you’ll die.
Are you going to let it happen, just like you let everything else? Are you going to roll over? Let it all be stolen, again and again?
No.
Simon reaches for the other knife and you swing it wide, slicing through the air until the blade meets flesh.
He hisses. Blood spills, drips down the handle, coats your fingers, and you stand there, frozen, gobsmacked.
Did you-
Did you just-
“Johnny,” he barks, but it barely registers, you’re too transfixed by the blood, hypnotized by it, too entranced to even register Johnny at your side, too stunned to see what’s in his hand.
A needle.
He whispers your name, cradles your face-
And then everything goes black.

Chatter and machines beeping filled the ED.
Mel sat down at a desk, updating charts; occasionally glancing over to see dana, perla, doctor collins and princess standing in central grinning at the staff elevators, waiting for something.
“You doing ok, mel?” Frank asked the blonde, mel nodded and pushed up her glasses. “Yeah all good, what’s next?” She asked, standing up from the desk.
Frank sighed and glanced around the ER stopping at the sight of his coworkers waiting, he motioned for mel to follow as he approached the women.
“What’s going on?” Frank’s question make’s princess grin even wider.
“Robby messed up and the ICU attending is apparently making her way down anytime now.” Collins filled langdon and mel in before turning back with everyone. “ICU attending?” Mel asked but was stopped as the interns all ran up to central, half of the ED stopping their activities to watch.
“Is she here yet?” Santos asked, out of breath a bit.
“Did we miss it!” Victoria asked as she and whitaker stabled each other out.
The elevator dinged causing everything to halt.
Out stepped a young woman, her bage swaying from her compression jacket. Wordlessly dana pointed to trauma one where robby stood, picking up gloves from the last trauma.
You smiled thankful before dropping the expression and pushed the doors open.
“What does H.I.T stand for medically robinavitch?” You asked, crossing your arms over your chest.
Robby sighed and straightened out before turning to you.
Taking too long for your liking you answered for him. “Heparin induced thrombocytopenia, moron!” You scoffed, your blood too warm for your liking.
“Is this about that old lady?” He asked, scratching his bread as you quietly seethed at him. “Yes and now that old lady had burns on her legs due to your ignorance!” You raised your arms in annoyance at the older doctor’s calm reaction.
“You’re the attending, it’s your job to caught the tiny details your residents and interns miss!” You argued, robby only nodded in return his attention to the computer in the corner of the room. “It was heparin or she would’ve clotted up.” Robby defending making your scoff quickling turning into laughter.
“That’s total bullshit and you know it robinavitch!” You turned to walk out but stopped as you opened the door to the ED. “I’m sure gloria would love a malpractice lawsuit against the hospital due to the illiterate ER attending!” You added before storming to the elevators and back to your floor.
Robby’s head picked up at your words, quickly following behind you as the elevator closed, separating you both.
Robby groaned, his fist clenching by his side.
Turning around he looked to notice half of the department stood near central watching it all, some of them quietly recording. “Get back to work, you all have patients waiting!” He scoffed and immediately broke everyone away, leaving dana chuckling at him.
“She seems nice..?” Mel shrugged as langdon chuckled to himself. Victoria shook her head.
“Someone already sent the video to the group chat!” Santos chuckled, showing everyone the video, the soundtrack of wicked playing over your yelling.
“Shen said twenty robby falls for her in two months.” Mohan smiled at the texts, langdon pulled out and his phone as bets filled the chat.
“So is she galinda and doctor robby is elphaba?” Mel asked, looking up trying to figure the duo in her head. “She totally gives galinda.” Mohan agreed with victoria.

You sighed as you stepping out of the staff elevator’s to the ED floor, scanning the floor you grinned as you spotted the other attendings.
“Good morning you two!” You smiled to Shen and Ellis.
“Morning.” Ellis greeted, sounding tired from her shift.
“Ahh, there she is, doctor galinda!” Shen smiled happily at you. You rolled your eyes at the two. “Stop being mean to the one who bought baked goods to you all down here in hell.” You motioned to the tote bag on your shoulder.
“Marry me, like actually.” Ellis sighed as she happily followed you to the break room where you laid out your baked goods on the table.
Minutes later robby groaned as he walked into the ED. Dana greeted him with a smile before turning to pick up her bagel, with a head tilt, robby quickly shrugged off his bag and motioned toward’s the baked good.
“Friday treat?” He asked, smirking as he opened up his travel mug.
“You know it, there’s more in the break room, i’d hurry before ellis shoves them in her pockets.” dana pointed to where most employee’s walked out with a baked treat in their hands.
Robby nodded and walked over, looking into the room. All of the interns and few resident’s stood, talking about each treat. “Morning.” Robby greeted, earning muffled greetings back.
“You have to try a muffin, it’s so good!” Langdon moaned as he fell back into his chair, still chewing his half eaten muffin. Robby just nodded and picked up a brownie, as he chewed the treat he looked at the boxes of treats, no note was in sight.
“Who got these?” His question brought the room to a playful silence.
Mel and whitaker both quietly stared at one another.
“Jack?” Robby guessed, only earning a shake of the head from mohan. Shen walked in a smile on his face. “He ate one?!” Shen asked, eyes wide as he stared at the older attending. “You know who got them?” Robby asked shen who began to chuckle.
“Doctor galinda made them herself.” Shen beamed as robby’s brows furrowed at the name.
“Who?”
Ellis groaned as victoria explained the nickname for you, quickly grabbing handfuls of the treats onto a napkin before robby grabbed the boxes.
“Spit them out.” He said before walking towards the staff elevators, boxes in hand.
Langdon shook his head as he continued to chew on his muffin.

You sighed as you leaned against the nurses station, waiting on a patient’s physical therapy to be done.
Quickly perking up as staff passed by, beaming about your baking. “It’s nothing!” You brushed off the compliments and went back to looking at your watch.
The click of the ICU doors being open, you mindlessly glanced over to see a seething robby walking towards you, your baked goods being carried on his forearm.
Robby walked over to your desk and stared you down. Quickly walking over to him. “What’s your problem robinavitch?” You questioned, standing tall as he stared you down,.
“Don’t go buttering up my staff with all these treats!” Robby demanded, his brows furrowing.
Most of the ICU staff stopped, watching you both.
“I don’t know what your talking about, i just thought treats for you hard workers would be nice, even my floor got some!” You defended, now crossing your arms at robby.
“I know what you’re trying to get at, it’s not gonna work.” Robby leaned forwards towards. You rolled your eyes and chuckled, before leaning in.
“I don’t know what you mean by that!” You smirked, quickly standing up straight as the doors opened once more.
Turning your head you smiled as gloria walked in, a tired expression on her face.
“Good morning gloria!” You beamed, quickly getting in step with the woman; who seemingly relaxed at your energy as you began going over patients and their discharge plans, leaving robby to seeth at the nurses station, tossing the boxes onto your desk before leaving the ICU.
An ICU nurse turned to a nursing assistant who had seen the whole thing and both began snickering, the assistant quickly stopped recording on her phone and sent it to a group chat.
“Poor galinda..” One of them joked.
- - - - - - - -
The video from the ICU had spread like a wildfire among the hospital staff.
Santos sat at a desk, sighing as she laid her head down on the cool desk, a small ding from her phone made her look up and pull out her phone to see a video attachment from donnie.
Clicking on the video, it had shown robby getting close to you and muttering something not heard by the camera, the video had ended with robby dropping the baked goods on your desk before leaving. Santos gave a hidden smile, laughing a bit.
Mohan walked up, phone in hand and a shocked expression on her face. “Did you see the video too?” Mohan asked santos who nodded and began chuckling.
“I can’t believe he did that!” Samira scoffed as she replayed the video.
“You two saw the video?” Victoria asked, walking up to the pair, in shock as well. Mohan and santos nodded as the girls watched robby move past them.
“That was kind of a dickhead move, you gotta admit.” Victoria sighed, sitting down across from santos.
“Apparently, She’s not even affected by it.” Mohan told the others as she scrolled through her messages with other nurses on the ICU floor.
Hours had passed by, during a slow moment, langdon had mel show dana the video of robby and you, earning a groan from the charge nurse.
“Dana, see if ICU has a bed available for south 13.” Robby asked the nurse who chuckled and picked up the phone, eyeing robby as she was given a no.
“We were a second too late, neurological took the last available bed.” She sighed, hanging up the phone as robby chuckled, running a hand over his neck. “Oh how convenient.” He laughed.
- - - - - - - -
Walking to your car you sighed, carrying the boxes of half gone baked goods in your hands.
You had notice when you began working at the hospital, the parking lot was always full even for the staff, no one had bothered parking across the street by the park; you were now understanding why no one did.
As you walked through the park, airpods playing your music.
A sharp whistle made you take one out, looking over you smiled at the few ED workers. You quickly made a detour and approached the group.
“How you doing today?” Princess asked as you gently sat the boxes down.
“Been better, my feet are too tired to walk to my car.” You sighed, sitting down next to langdon on a bench. “Thankful it’s friday right?” Langdon asked, bumping your knee with his.
You tiredly nodded and rubbed your eyes.
“Yep, now gotta go clock in for my at home job.” You sighed into your palms.
“At home job?” Mel asked, you smiled and nodded at her. “Yep, cleaning my apartment, water my plants, feed my lovebug, bathtime..” You explained, moving your head around, hoping to pop it.
Sighing, you opened your eyes and quickly rolled them as robby began walking towards the group, donnie behind him, rolling a cooler.
“Alright gotta go before i fall asleep on the bench!” You popped up and walked to your car, leaving the baked goods.
“Lovebug?” Mel asked the others who shook it off.
- - - - - - - -
“Oh there she is!” You squealed.
“Mommy!” a little girl no older then five quickly ran from the porch steps of your parents house towards you.
“My lovebug!” You smiled, opening your arms for the little girl who quickly squeezed you with all her might.
Lovebug; all of the hospital’s staff had heard of the name, everyone had assumed it was a pet you had, no one had suspected you had a child, especially you being a young mother. To you it was obvious you had child, but never outright saying it, assuming everyone else knew it too.
“How was today?” She asked, shrugging off her little backpack, tossing it on the seat beside her carseat.
“It was good, everyone loved our treats!” You smiled at the little girl who smiled widen back.
Your mind had gone back to robby but with a quickly check of reality you quickly thanked your parents before taking your daughter home to your apartment.
“How was your day bug?” You asked, looking in the rearview mirror, your little girl grinned and kicked her legs and she sang something under her breath.
“Great, we colored and then-then we went to eat!” She explained, her little legs kicking in excitement as she recalled her day to you.
You had shaken your day with robby out of your mind, happily thinking about your daughter and her day’s experience.
- - - - - - - -
Robby sighed everyone had left the park, leaving him to be the last one, he scoffed as the boxes of treats sat on the bench, he quickly picked it up and sighed, it had now been only a handful of treats left in the box, with a sigh robby took them with back to his home.
After a warm shower and a decent dinner, robby sat down on his couch, his tv playing whatever show he had on for noise. He sighed as he fidgeted on the couch once more.
The need for something sweet hit him as he flipped through channel’s, passing a cooking show. As he went to get up to go to the market down the street he stopped, the tupperware sat on his countertop, with a hefty sigh and a look at his clock.
Walking over robby, opened the lid and went through the leftover treats, finally ending up picking out a few cookies. He quickly grabbed a bit of milk before going to his couch with his treat for the night.
Sitting down, he mindlessly took a bite of the cookie, part of his mind too enthralled by the tv show on the screen. He chewed for a bit before stopping to stare at the cookie, chuckling to himself.
“Fuck..” He muttered before going back for more. He now understood why his staff were boasting about your treats.

nonchalant boyfriend sae, except he secretly is super clingy. he’s just perpetually unbothered when it comes to speculation on your relationship with him through the eyes of the media. there’s paparazzi pics that had people clutching their pearls; the two of you went out for a run, and while catching your breath, sae goes behind you to pull out your lip balm from the inner waistband pocket of your leggings. no one knows this, though, so it literally looks like he’s just casually reaching down your leggings, in broad daylight, to cop a feel. the worst part is the fact that he won’t address it until his managers force him to explain. what’s harder to explain is when you were trying to take a cute mirror video of you two during a date night. he’s got his arms wrapped around you from behind, hands resting against the flat of your stomach, and it’s almost sweet, until one of his large hands travels a bit downwards and he literally taps his hand against the area between your thighs. you accidentally posted the video & deleted it within seconds but your followers are quicker. someone screen recorded it and sae’s publicity team doesn’t know how to respond to all the “NOT THE KITTY TAPS IN THE DAMN ELEVATOR😩😩”

Rockstar!Steve Harrington x Fem!Reader
wc: 10k
+18 enemies to lovers, rockstar!steve, reader is a bit mean, a bit of fluff, a sprinkle of angst, drinking, smut, p in v (protected), oral (f receiving), fingering, lots of sexual tension, elevator kissing ftw, kinda hate fucking
summary: You started a 'hate' blog out of your irritation towards a certain rockstar, criticizing everything he got out, giving your personal opinion on how it could be better, not thinking that would land you a spot in his actual PR team. He hated you were always right, you hated he was cocky... or, that's what you both thought.
A/N: Joe Keery doing a tour altered my brain chemistry, so here you guys go. Thank you @andvys for proofreading this and telling me if it made sense LMAO I barely proofread this myself, so yeah. I also wrote this all in a single night, so don't mind it if it's... too stupid.
please reblog, don't be lazy.
YOUR BIGGEST FAN HATER
“It’s fucking horse shit, Steve.”
You let go of the talking button from the mixer, and you heard Steve groan from inside the recording booth. Eddie was holding back a laugh from the couch as Joyce snickered on your side. You saw how Steve raised his arms in defeat, staring at you with eyes that were filled with anger.
“What the fuck do you want from me?” You leaned over to press the button again, speaking into the mic.
“I know this isn’t what you want to play, and I know this isn’t what your fans want. Stop trying to be mainstream.” You let go of the button again and inhaled deeply, when you saw him angrily putting the guitar away on its stand, and Joyce sighed heavily as Steve opened the door of the booth, walking towards you.
“We’ve been working on this song for a month already, I tried every fucking version of it, and you are still not happy.”
“I’m in your PR team. I know what will look and sound best for you.” Your reply was cold, and it made Eddie whistle from the couch.
“Let’s not get into an argument today–” But he got cut off by Steve, his eyes never leaving yours.
“Too fucking late, stay out of it Munson.” Eddie sighed, and you crossed your arms over your chest, facing your client. “What if you are cutting my wings off, huh!? Maybe this is the music I want to make, and you are not letting me.”
“Oh no, you are completely free to do whatever you want. But I studied you, Steve, and punk is not your style, nor what you really want to do. Redo it.” Your voice was sharp as you stared into those hazel orbs of his. Joyce stood behind you, and you were either the best decision ever or the worst.
Because you were Steve’s number one critic. Number one hater.
It started as a joke months ago. You were bored, sitting in your bed while watching TikToks, where you slowly but surely started getting angrier and angrier because every two videos you scrolled, Steve Harrington’s song was used. Over. And over. And over. And it wouldn’t fucking stop.
So you decided to Google the bastard. He filled your TikTok, Instagram, car radio, and weekly top song playlists. His song stayed for weeks and weeks, and you were sick of him. When you looked at his photoshoots, you saw the attraction—you really did… until you saw red carpet looks… listened to his album, and—he was fucking overrated.
His songs had different vibes, some lyrics didn’t make sense or didn’t match the tunes, then in the red carpet he was dressed horribly sometimes, and then at concerts he didn’t know how to properly interact with fans, and also how to fucking dress. Who the hell wears a basketball getup singing a ballad?
He almost looked like he didn’t have a PR team at all to advise him.
But you were pissed. It was going to be a small joke. A small blog post giving a detailed critique of his outfit on the red carpet. You were anonymous, so you weren’t worried about that part, but you were surprised when people started agreeing with you, as well as those crazed fans you hated who tried defending his every move. He could have made a lady trip on purpose, and the fans would defend him and say he has a condition that makes his body spasm and do things against his will.
For some reason, seeing people agreeing with you filled you with relief. You got the anger out. Only for it to come back the next day when your little cousin would not stop playing the damn fucking song at a family gathering. You watched an interview of his that night, the latest one he had. You were surprised he was quite charming, but there was still a tone in his voice that made your insides fire up with rage.
And then it was post after post after post. You had a following; some agreed completely with you, some found your content funny, and some followed you only to try to tear you down every time you posted. You didn’t care. You were right in what you were saying, in every little detail you pointed out. You did, though, delete all harsh insults against him. You disliked Steve Harrington but not to the point of being evil and a piece of shit about it.
He had his good points too, which you couldn’t deny. He was pretty, very much so. He had a good voice. He had good hair. He was very nice to people in interviews, and whenever he met fans outside. Still, the dislike won over those points each time he did something unnerving or his only two hit songs played over the most random shit. Like your elevator in your apartment.
You were venting out your anger towards this guy with no other thought than to relieve yourself from how annoying everything felt, only for that venting to be read by someone. The star himself.
Now Steve first laughed it off. He was a bit taken aback by people agreeing on some of the stuff you said, but he rolled his eyes each time, saying you didn’t know what you were talking about. He showed the blog to Eddie, and unbeknownst to Steve, Eddie showed it to Joyce, his manager. Without Steve’s knowledge, Joyce started taking some of your suggestions at hand, be it for his clothes, his getup, his topics of conversation in interviews or podcasts, and you nailed it each time.
His views went up. His following went up. His hashtags trended each time, unlike before. You were good, really good. And Joyce didn’t want you to go unpaid for it.
Two months have passed since Joyce contacted you. At first you thought it was fake, a bullshit account or them trying to dox you, only to find a legitimate contract, and you were in desperate need for cash. This paid well. Very well. The plus? You got to tour around the country and see many states, all paid for.
Steve had tried to fire you on the spot when he met you, but Joyce forbade it. You were under her agency’s contract, not Steve’s. He could complain, but unless you did a bad job, there was no need to fire you. And you hadn’t done a bad job. It was excellent each time. Thanks to you, Steve had risen in popularity as one of the hottest men of the day. You had advised him to be more carefree in interviews and give people a chance to make memes out of him, out of his faces, and out of his gestures.
He didn’t understand it at first until he started seeing a cropped part of an interview of his being used as a reaction. The comments were from ‘Who is this?’ ‘Oh, he is cute!’ ‘Damn he fine.’ He didn’t want to admit it. He wasn’t going to admit you were right.
But now with his music, he didn’t want to give you the satisfaction of being right. Not with the one thing he wanted to do since forever, even when he was still following Daddy’s command. You didn’t know anything about him, so what could you know about his music?
“You are fucking insufferable, I have promised my fans I would give them a sneak peek of my new song weeks ago, and I have till tomorrow!” His next concert was in Philadelphia. He suggested premiering a song he had been working on for a while, and you were skeptical. You started asking him for demos, and each time, you were never happy.
“Then you won’t sing it!” Your voice was sharp as you delivered the order. Your body was tense, sweat pooling at the tips of your fingers, the more you stared at the man before you. There was fire in the room, that is something you could feel on your skin right now.
“I will sing it! I promised that–”
“You are not even sure of your own song, so why sing it? People will not like it if you do not like it.” Steve’s jaw fell at your words, the anger rising up in him more and more. He couldn’t fucking stand you. He couldn’t fucking stand you were good at your work. He couldn’t fucking stand that you couldn’t stand him either.
“And what do you know what is in my mind?” He spat back, and Joyce finally got in between, separating the two of you. You hadn’t noticed just how close you stepped towards him. How his breath fanned over your face. Only when the warmth of it was gone from your nose did you realize the closeness.
“Okay, let’s settle. Steve, I think she is right. You are not even sure of this song…” Joyce tried to explain calmly, unlike you did to him. You could see Steve’s vein popping on the side of his neck as he clenched his jaw. Eddie cleared his throat as he got up from the couch, putting a hand on Steve’s shoulder.
“Let’s go cool off, big boy.” Eddie winked your way, always telling you he would somehow make the waters grow calm again. You wondered if that was going to be the case this time. Steve’s eyes never left your face, and yours never left his.
Finally, he turned around without saying anything else and left the room. Eddie turned to look at Joyce with a wince, only for her to wave at him as thanks. Once the door closed, she turned to you, crossing her arms over her chest. You frowned, confused, shrugging your shoulders in question.
“What?”
“A little more tact, next time?” You rolled your eyes at her request, shaking your head.
“Tact? Tact is what led him to make all the mistakes he did before. No one was telling him what was right and what looked awful.” Joyce sighed, rubbing her temple in annoyance.
“You two…”
“Us two, what?” And it seemed as if Joyce bit her tongue. She shook her head to dismiss what she was about to say.
“Let’s hope tomorrow he doesn’t… do something reckless.”
You doubted it.
It sucked.
People didn’t like it.
Just like you said.
Just like you had fucking said.
He had tried the version of the song he liked best, and people clapped at the end of it, but it wasn’t massive cheering. He went against your order of not singing the song, but he had convinced himself he liked it, and honestly, he couldn’t even blame it entirely on the people. He hated every single version he made of this song.
The lyrics looked good, but the tune of it was what sucked. It didn’t fit. The lyrics didn’t fit any of those beats or genres he played around with. He really wanted this song, but he hated every version he wrote. What was his own version? He thought he had himself figured out, but now? Now it was all a blur.
It was 2 am, and he went down to the hotel bar for a drink because he needed a distraction from looking at his phone and read what people had to say. He sat down at a booth, drinking his negroni, and pulled out his notebook for his songs. He flipped through the pages and found the lyrics of this particular song, and he frowned as he remembered the lack of enthusiasm from the crowd.
He put on his reading glasses and he was scanning it, over and over again, so focused he missed the part where you had sat down in front of him with a beer in hand.
“Told you.”
His head snapped up to look at you. There was no smirk, no smug grin, no ego being shown. You were being professional, but he still hated it. He hated you for being right. For having been the reason his career had been going up instead of plummeting to the ground.
“No need for those remarks right now.”
You studied his face. It was one of those you particularly enjoyed. When he looked concentrated, and that little piece of hair fell on the side of his face, over those glasses, that's when you thought he looked best. Your breathing hitched at the intrusive thought, one of the many you had about the man in front of you, and even more since you started working with him.
“You know, we could try to figure it out together.”
He was surprised at your response, making him look up from his notebook with a skeptical look. He studied your face, waiting to see a flinch that would give away you were joking, or a little tug at the corner of your lips trying to cover up your laughter, but he found none.
“Are you serious?” You shrugged, taking a sip of your beer before looking down at his hand that was holding a pen.
“When I tell you I didn’t find it nice, it didn’t mean I didn’t have ideas.” You confessed to him, and he tilted his head your way, still squinting with skepticism.
“Why didn’t you?”
“It wasn’t my place. Like you said, you know yourself better than anyone else, so I wasn’t going to let my ideas maybe… influence you.” You looked down, a little bit embarrassed because it was the first time you and Steve had a civil talk for once. You were also a little angry for wanting to talk to him like this, but he never gave you such a chance… or maybe you hadn’t.
He blinked a few times in surprise, looking down at his notes for a second. He gulped once, and he cleared his throat.
“You think your ideas are so good that they would influence me? Wow, a bit of an ego there.” You couldn’t help but chuckle because it was just a matter of minutes before he made it a fight, but you were surprised when he laughed along. He didn’t mean what he just said. He hesitated for a few seconds before sliding the notebook your way.
“Collaborative.” You said, and he rolled his eyes, handing the pen to you. You took it, your fingers grazing his for a second, sending chills all over your body. Chills, you were going to pretend did not happen at all.
“C’mon, let me see what your ideas are.” He took a sip of his drink as he watched you study the lyrics. Instead of scribbling on top of his original ones, you were respectful and wrote it all over on a new page. He, of course, noticed it, and it made him move in his seat in which he thought was because he was uncomfortable, but in all honesty, he felt… delighted.
“I think that if you change some adjectives here, or even elongate some phrases, you can make this song like… Slow, but with a slight upturn in the bridge.” You explained as you scribbled a few more seconds before giving the notebook back to him.
He studied it with a frown and–
“God, can you stop being right for two seconds?” Your eyes widened at his outburst, but before you could mention anything of it, he called for a waiter and ordered another negroni and a beer for you. You hadn’t noticed you had drank the entire bottle while writing down notes.
“I didn’t even say I wanted another beer!” You complained, and he glared at you, but there was a hint of something else behind it. Respect, and also, the need for you to stay.
“Well, we’re gonna work on this, so you have to be fueled up.”
And for some reason, that made you happy. It made you feel useful in another kind of way. Instead of clashing all the time, the two of you spent an hour working on that notebook while drinking and letting the alcohol relax you both. You did not fight. You did not clash against each other. You were hearing one another out and that’s– Fuck, that’s all you’ve ever wanted.
When you first met Steve, you tried to introduce yourself nicely; he was a client after all. He obviously had his ego busted thanks to you, so he didn’t want you near him at all. At first, you didn’t care, but then, when you saw him interact with his best friends, or with Joyce, even with random girls, you couldn’t help but feel jealous that you were never going to have that kind of Steve for you. You were never going to have one of his smiles directed your way, or you would never hear his laughter thanks to you.
And that’s because you liked it. You liked that side of him, and you have always loved what you shouldn’t have.
An hour passed, the three beers now kicking in, but just making you tipsy, bold, and to Steve’s surprise, giggly. You laughed at certain things he pointed out, and just like you, he hated that you never smiled for him. He hated that all he got from you were snarky remarks or orders. It intrigued him, which only added to the fuel of despising you. Why would he want a mean girl like you? Why would he want someone who criticized him out of fun? That’s fucked up. He clearly had something wrong going on in his head.
But he couldn’t deny how pretty you looked. There were times he remained silent while you said something because, even when angry because of something he said, you looked pretty. You looked pretty while frowning, glaring at him. Eddie had joked around with him, telling him you two needed to fuck it out and get it over with. Steve didn’t know what Eddie was on about because, why the hell would he want to fuck you?
And now, with four drinks in, he can answer that fucking question with no shame.
It was always a tug-of-war game, see who caved in first. There were times, little ones, when he would be having a hard time with a fan interaction, and you would step up to cover for him. You were in charge of making sure no interviewers asked out of line questions to him.
And on your side, you noticed how Steve would order either coffee or ask Joyce if she could give you a day off. There were times when you didn’t sleep because it was an event, an interview, and a concert, back to back to back, so the content was fresh. You had to do your investigation and see what the people were talking about, and not miss a single hour. Joyce told you that Steve demanded you back off for a while.
You were mad at first, only to realize after sleeping for twelve hours straight just how badly you needed to rest. You tried thanking him after that, but it ended with you two staring at each other before he got called into the recording booth. You never got to thank him for those times when, even if your job was to basically shut him down, he cared for your health.
The two of you weren’t blind to each other, you were just idiots.
“Okay, hang on, so, you and Eddie never banged?” Steve almost spat his negroni, a laugh escaping his lips, shaking his head.
“Why the fuck would you even think that!?”
“He is very touchy!” Steve smirked, tilting his head to the side, making that curl of his hair fall a little bit as well. Damn him.
“You jealous that he is touchy with me?” You gasped, feeling your stomach do a twirl at the accusation, but you shook your head aggressively.
“No! But come on, the girls online also think you two are dating! There’s even fucking fanfictions about you two!” He squinted slightly, now confused.
“What are fanfictions?” Your eyes widened in surprise, a smile of mischief appearing on your lips. You hummed as you grabbed your phone and tapped on the screen. He took this time to scan your features. You looked relaxed, as if you were treating him like a person and not the celebrity you have to keep in check. Then his eyes moved downwards, and– that damn neck of yours. Fuck–
“Here.” You handed him your phone with a smirk on your face. He took it without question, seeing it was text, and he took a sip of his drink as he read, adjusting the glasses over his face. For some reason, he decided to read it out loud, which only made you cover your mouth in anticipation–
“Steve could only look Eddie into his eyes for a few seconds, before his hands started making their way to the belt of his best friend’s pAAAHNT–” He dropped the phone on the table with disgust and a yelp, and you burst out laughing, throwing yourself back onto the booth, holding your belly. “What the hell!”
You couldn’t help but feel the tears building up from laughing so hard, and soon enough he started laughing too, taking his glasses off to cover his eyes as if he were in pain. The song was forgotten, the work, the fans, the blog, everything. You were just in a bar booth, laughing your ass off with a cute boy. That’s what it felt like.
“And you’re always the passive.” Steve choked on his saliva as he leaned down to rest his head into his arms, cradling it while laughing hysterically into them. You wiped your eyes, trying to cease your laughter, but having a hard time doing so.
“I’m gonna kill myself.” He said jokingly, which prompted you to laugh again. After a minute, he finally came back up, his eyes teary from the laughter, and he was taking deep breaths in to calm himself down. “Also, the passive!?”
“Yeah, the one who takes it.” He rolled his eyes and chuckled, leaning back with his arms crossed over his chest, which only made your eyes fall to the extent of his biceps getting slightly bigger because of the flex. You gulped as you were finally left with small giggles, putting your phone away.
“If only my fans knew.” He mumbled, but you caught on to it. You frowned in question, a cheeky smile on your lips as you rested your elbows on the table and your chin at the top of your joined hands.
“Knew what, Harrington?” His eyebrow twitched for just a second in thought before he finally caught sight of you. His body tensed, and the air around you both did as well. You two were lucky no one else was down there at the bar at that time.
So, as his tongue and muscles got a bit loose thanks to the alcohol, his crossed arms came to rest on the table as well, leaning forward, your way.
“If they knew how I really was in bed, I would not be considered the bottom.” Your legs clenched together at those words because– Fuck, it’s been a while since you had sex and, you had been interested in Steve despite hating him, but it shouldn’t be. It shouldn’t happen, and now he is letting your imagination go wild.
“Oh? And how is the nice, charming, gentlemanly Steve Harrington in bed, huh?” You tried to sound as teasing as possible, using the names people called him online, but all you got from him was a cheeky grin, one that was making your entire body turn on like a wildfire.
“That, I keep to myself and whoever I have sex with, honey.” The pet name. The pet name came out by itself and with no restraint. He was staring at your reactions, and– Was he causing any? He noticed how you looked away, taking the last sip of your beer and, fuck, he did. He did cause a reaction, and you looked good like this. You looked good when you were speechless.
And he can think of a way or two to provoke that again.
“As long as there’s an NDA afterwards.” You joked a bit, trying to hide how much you have reacted to his words because the images in your head kept popping up. You have seen him shirtless thanks to photoshoot campaigns, and, thanks to the girls online pointing it out, you obviously stumbled over thirst posts… some were of his bulge thanks to his tight pants.
He huffed a bit as his eyes never left your figure, his tongue licking the inside of the bottom of his lip in thought, trying to gather up even more courage than what the liquid had given him. It was starting to wear off, so he had to use it quickly.
“And what about you?”
“Mmm?”
“How are you in bed? You think that in a so-called fanfiction of this, would you be the bottom?” Your eyebrows went up, stunned at the bold question. You leaned back, putting your hands to your sides, grabbing onto the seat, and popping your chest up as if you were lying back on the seat. His eyes drifted to your cleavage, and fuck, did that dress look good on you.
“Well… If it were a fanfiction of me and you… I would definitely be pegging you.” His eyes widened, his arms still crossed as he leaned back. His pants started to tighten up more and more, and if your teasing before made him hard a few times, the sexual teasing was going to be the death of him.
“Is that right?” He challenged, and the fire just kept spreading more and more, and this was not supposed to happen, because it shouldn’t. You really should get up, say goodbye, and go away. Yet, you stayed put.
“What? You think you could dominate the situation? I hardly believe it, you can barely fight me when I suggest something for your image.” You scoffed to emphasize your mockery, but he didn’t even smile. Instead, his pupils were dilated, looking your way. It only made your limbs grow limp. It was as if he just made your entire self feel like something you could squish with just a hard grip.
“Hmm…” He hummed, his eyes still racking all over your body, and he wanted you to feel it. He wanted you to feel observed, he wanted you to feel like fucking prey for him, because he knew he was good. He knew it, and that is the one thing he won’t tolerate you criticizing.
He really wants to shut you the fuck up.
“I’m sorry. We need to do a clean-up before the morning shift starts?” The waiter came over as politely as possible, and your eyes noticed the discomfort on his face. He was obviously uncomfortable because he knew he had interrupted, but maybe it was for the better. You took a deep breath before standing up. Steve gave a generous tip to the waiter, getting up and putting the small notebook in his back pocket while he hung his reading glasses on the collar of his button-up shirt.
“Thank you.” You mumbled to the waiter before you headed out of the bar, Steve following right behind. Every step felt heavy with tension as you two walked towards the elevators. He stood next to you with his hands in his front pockets, and you were trying not to glance, but the stickiness between your legs was bringing you back to the real world, in which you were wet for the man you ‘hated’, making you move in your place.
“You gotta pee?” He asked as the elevator dinged and the doors opened. Spacious and empty. Your belly flipped, and you noticed how his hand pressed against the frame so the doors wouldn’t close, so you could step in first. You gulped, walking into the elevator, shaking your head.
“No. These heels are just killing me.” He chuckled, stepping inside and pressing your room’s floor first. You were surprised he remembered it. 14.
“Really? You’ve been sitting all night, though.” He reminded you, and you felt yourself flushing over at being caught. You shrugged, trying not to let the nerves, or rather, the need to jump on him, consume you as the doors closed, leaving you two alone.
“They can still hurt. You’ve never worn heels, you have no say.” He chuckled at your response, and then it was silent.
The air was tense, just the sound of the elevator slowly moving as it went up. You scratched the side of your face, trying to distract yourself from the events of the night. He then leaned against the mirror behind him, his arms crossed as his eyes ran all over your body, which only made you scoff a bit.
“What?”
“Why are you acting like you’re the main character of a music video?” You asked, kind of irritated. He chuckled, tilting his head.
“Jealous?”
“Of your ego? Never.”
Then the floor kept clicking upward, and his hand raked over his hair, as if nervously, or maybe fed up.
“You know, for someone who claims to hate me, you have a knack of finding me in every single room we're in.”
Your eyes widened at his words, making your head turn to look at him. He was grinning your way, knowing he was getting under your skin. You level him with one look, shaking your head.
“Please, you orbit me, Harrington.” Then it was silent as you two stared at one another. The air was thick with tension, and you could hear your heartbeat in your ear, a loud ringing that was making you almost lose your balance.
Steve was feeling the pulse in his neck quicken by the second, and it almost felt as if it were about to pop his vein off. He uncrossed his arms, and he took a step closer your way, tentatively.
“Do you still hate me?” His question made your stomach flip, when it fucking shouldn’t. You lifted your chin, trying to make it look like you were unfazed.
“Shouldn’t I?”
That only prompted him to take one more step, and you would only have to raise your hand to touch his chest from how close he got to you. You could feel the heat on your ears, on the tips of your fingertips, in your belly.
“You didn’t look like you hated me when you were laughing down at the bar with me.”
Your breathing skipped as his eyes went down to your lips, and your knees trembled slightly at how good he was with physical teasing. He knew what to do to make you crumble, and you hated him a little more because of that.
“Maybe you just didn’t look like a jerk then.”
“Do I look like one now?” His response was fast, ready to counterattack you. You stayed silent, and that was the answer he needed. He licked his lips, studying your face as his hand itched with the need to touch you. The need to grab you, anywhere. “You’re really… insufferable, honey.”
Your mouth opened in disbelief at his words, only for the elevator doors to open on your floor. Maybe he was only mocking you for the night. Maybe it was his goal to know if you fancied him or not, and he might have gotten his answer, and that made you mad. You scoffed and stepped out of the elevator, ready to go to your room and write a long fucking post on how he sucked ass tonight–
But his hand gripped your arm, pulling you back in as his other hand pressed against another button aggressively, his floor, just four more floors up. You managed to let a small gasp leave you before his lips clashed against yours, the elevator doors closing behind you.
Your body moved instinctively, your arms wrapping desperately around his shoulders as his arms wrapped around your body, his hands on your back, pressing you close to him. It felt desperate, rough, filled with pent-up feelings that both of you were never going to admit.
He backed the two of you against a wall, his hand stopping the impact for a second so you wouldn’t hit it hard, before wrapping it back around your body. You could feel your center throbbing for him, and this was just a kiss. Not even with tongue. His hand glided down to your right thigh, making you wrap your leg around his hip, and then, you moaned into his mouth.
His hard on was tight against his pants, pressing it against you and creating friction on your clothed clit. He took the advantage of pushing his tongue inside your mouth, finally having a proper taste of you, making his stomach flip over. His hips rolled instinctively once, making you groan into the kiss as your nails ran all over his hair, scratching at his scalp.
You heard him groan and grip onto your thigh even tighter, his hand underneath your dress, and someone could walk into the elevator at any moment and see you two together, but you couldn’t care less. Not now. He didn’t care either, even when he should, because he was a rockstar, and this could make it in a post anytime soon.
Your tongue was exquisite against his, and again, his hatred for you only grew. Why were you so fucking perfect? It wasn’t fair. He pulled away after a second, panting heavily against your lips.
“Still hate me?” He mumbled desperately, and you nodded, your hips rubbing against his, earning a moan from both of you.
“So much…”
“Then get off on my floor.”
The elevator bounced a bit as it dinged. He pulled away from you as the doors opened, and you didn’t even hesitate to follow him, like a magnet. He smirked breathlessly as he grabbed your hand, pulling you out of the elevator and walking down the hallway. His hand went into the left back pocket of his jeans, and he got his card out, stopping in front of his door.
You were looking around, making sure you were not being seen, but, in all honesty, some part of you wanted to. Some part wanted people, the girls who thirsted for him, to know he was taking you to his room. Maybe it was your ego talking. Maybe it was just some proud moment of fucking a celebrity… You weren’t going to admit the other possibility of why you wanted everyone to know you were about to fuck Steve.
He passed the card against the lock of the door, and it opened, letting you in first. Once he closed it behind him, he didn’t give you a single chance to look around, to look at the much fancier room he had rented for the night, because he was back on you in an instant. His hands cradled your face as he kissed you roughly, passionately, and fuck you were growing addicted to them. You had never been kissed in such a way, you felt completely and utterly wanted, desired.
The kiss was greedy, desperate, and then he pulled away from you to kiss down your jaw, then your neck, grazing his teeth against the skin of your pulse point. Your hands were dragging against his biceps, trying to center yourself back to earth, a hoarse chuckle escaping you.
“You kiss like you’ve been waiting to do it since the moment I called you overrated in your face.” Your eyes fluttered shut at a particular suck on your neck, making you sigh.
“I have.” He growled against you, “you piss me off so much, I get hard by thinking about shutting you up.”
“Oh, fuck off–” You were cut off as his hand started moving up on your thigh, under your dress. His fingertips dragging against the elastic of your underwear. His hips pressed against you, making you feel his bulge against your belly, his leg sliding between yours, thigh pressing against your cunt. You moaned against your will, feeling that sweet friction on you again. He pulled away from your neck, his nose brushing against yours.
“This what you imagined?” He murmured, and his mouth brushed against yours, making you sigh. “Me, pinning you like this? Getting you wet after talking shit the way you did?”
“I imagined punching you–” You gasped as his fingers ghosted over your clothed pussy, a soft huff escaping him as he pressed even harder, feeling your wetness.
“And yet you are soaked.”
You were going to retort, if it weren’t for the fact that he got down on his knees, right before you. He hooked your leg over his shoulder, his eyes locked in your panties with hunger in them. You were shocked, looking down at him, and his lips found your inner thigh, kissing it softly before giving it a soft nibble.
“Still want to hit me?” You whined as your hips moved a bit towards him, and his mouth was on the wet lace in a second. You gasped, throwing your head back against the wall as your hands went to grab onto his head.
“Fuck–” You moaned out as he sucked on your clothed clit. If this is how it felt with your panties on, you were desperate to know how it felt without them. He moaned at your scent, at your taste, and he got his other hand to move between your legs, while the other gripped onto your ass, and he hooked his fingers on the center of your panties to move them to the side.
You clenched at nothing when the cold air hit your pussy, only for that to be replaced by the warmth of his tongue, making you sigh with delight. He swirled it around your clit, making moans escaping you as he groaned into your cunt, before sliding his tongue between your folds, tasting you completely.
“You taste so fucking good…” He moaned into you as he fondled your ass, making you grip his hair even tighter. He lapped at you like a man starved, as if you were the most delectable thing he ever tasted.
“Fuck, don’t stop… Steve–” You whimpered as your back arched off the wall when he dipped his tongue inside of you. This was the living proof this fucker was a singer. He knew how to move his lips, his tongue, going from licking to sucking and it was driving you wild.
“Never.” You heard him mumble against you, and then his hand left your ass, and you felt the tip of his fingers gliding against your entrance, making you gasp. “Beg for them.”
Your mouth fell open at the request, but he sucked on your clit again and your walls clenched around nothing, when they wanted to clench around something. Your body was flushed all over, hating him just a little more.
“Please…”
“Please, what? Come on, you are super clear when you order me around, you can be clear in your begging too.” You fucking hated him. Your belly turned desperately, feeling even more aroused than before, and your dominating side was slowly slipping away from you.
“Please, use your fingers… Please–”
“Good girl.” Your eyes widened when you felt two of his fingers going inside of you slowly, his ring and middle finger, and– You couldn’t deny it. You had seen his hands before, way too fucking big, and maybe you had fantasized a bit once or twice about them.
Those fantasies did his fingers no justice as he started pumping them in and out of you mercilessly. The squelching of your pussy echoing in the room as well as your moans and his. He was flickering your clit with the tip of his tongue, curling his fingers towards him to try to find that special spot inside of you.
You moaned his name when you felt your belly start to coil, and you realized you were getting close. Embarrassingly fast. This is what you get for not having a moment’s peace to take care of yourself for weeks.
“Steve– Oh–” He could feel your walls fluttering against his fingers and he groaned as he pulled away from your clit, looking up at you.
“Tell me how much you hate me.” And you felt your body growing a sweat as your legs started to shake, the one over his shoulder twitching as your climax built and built.
“I fucking hate–” You gasped at a particular movement of his fingers, making you jerk against him, the first warning you were going to cum making itself present. Your hands gripped his hair tightly, desperately. “-- that you’re so good at this–”
He chuckled and he sucked hard against your clit, his fingers dragging in and out of you. You were breathing heavily, and then, you came undone. You saw stars behind your eyelids as your back arched off the wall. Your leg over his shoulder hooked towards his back, pushing him into you desperately as you moaned loudly, and he had to concentrate on not cumming right then and there because you just sounded incredible.
He slowed his pace as he helped you ride your orgasm out, licking, taking your slick into his mouth to taste your climax. Once he felt you unclench, and your leg relaxed against him as well as your hands letting go of his hair, he pulled away from you. He breathed in deeply as he tried to catch his breath.
He patted your leg, silently telling you to move from him, and you followed the instructions, trying to stabilize your breathing as you put your leg down. He gave one last kiss to your clit, making you groan and jerk in your place at the overstimulation. He chuckled, grabbing the edges of your panties to finally pull them down from you. You stepped out of them, and he finally stood back up, towering over you. He threw your panties onto the small table next to the door.
His eyes found yours, and you saw the darkness in them, the lust, and you trembled once again as you felt him grab onto your waist. His lips clashed against yours, and you could taste yourself, making you a little dizzy as your arms wrapped around his shoulders. His tongue instantly connected with yours as he pressed himself against you. Your hand glided downwards in between your bodies, finally touching the big bulge in his pants.
He groaned into the kiss as he felt you palming him, then pressing your palm against him. He needed more. He wanted more. He pulled away from you, breathing heavily into your lips.
“Bed, now.” You nodded at his request, kissing him desperately again as he pulled the two of you off from the wall, walking you backwards and towards the bed. You jumped a bit when you felt the edge of it on the back of your knees, pulling away from him. His hands gripped the hem of your dress, pulling it over your head. “Oh, fuck–”
You didn’t let him touch you, moving to sit on the bed, getting out of your heels before you moved back onto it, setting yourself in the middle, completely naked. You saw how flushed he was, gripping onto his shirt, ripping it off his body, and then quickly moving to his belt. His movements were rushed as you stared at his stripping. You saw that chest hair you’ve thought of brushing your fingers over a few times before, then the freckles in places you’ve always wondered if they even had them.
Then he got out of his shoes and jeans, and all was left were those blue tight boxers on him and– Fuck. He looked big. He looked so big. He noticed your eyes on him, making him smirk, but also shiver from the attention you were giving him. He grabbed the hem of them and pulled them down finally, his cock springing up and hitting against his belly and your eyes widened.
You didn’t know if in all your life you had slept with smaller than average dicks or if Steve was just… huge. You noticed the smug look on his face, and you wanted to wipe it off, so you stared at him as you were propped on your elbows, slowly spreading your bent legs for him. His eyes fell back to your cunt and he had to take a sharp intake of breath in, his dick twitching for attention.
He got on the bed, crawling your way, but before he completely covered you, he leaned to the side, towards the bedside table. You saw him grab his wallet, opening it to get a condom out, making you roll your eyes. He noticed, straightening up after tossing his wallet back on the table.
“Anything you want to say?”
“Nope.”
“I can absolutely get off of you, if you so want me to–”
“I swear if you don’t fuck me in the next five seconds, I’m walking out of here.” He chuckled at your whiplash of emotions. You saw him rip the foil with his teeth, and that shouldn’t have been as hot as it had been, but here you were. He rolled the condom on himself, and you took a sharp intake of breath as you lay down when he crawled a little closer, getting on top of you.
“Anything your snarky mouth wants to add?” He asked and you were getting pissed, frustrated as you grabbed onto his shoulders, glaring at him.
“Why are you still fucking talking–” Your words were cut off with a gasp when you felt him pushing in. His eyes were on how your face contorted into a silent moan, a satisfying groan vibrating in his throat as he gave a nibble to your jaw.
“Yeah, there you go, shut the fuck up–” You wanted to punch him, but the more he filled you, the more you couldn’t come up with any words in your head. Your mouth was open, choking on your spit at every inch. “Fuck–”
He cursed as he felt your warmth all around him, and maybe Eddie was right. You two needed to fuck it out. He couldn’t believe how good you felt, and he could have had you all these months if he hadn’t been so stubborn. If you hadn’t been one too. If you two had stopped for a second and just talked with each other the way you did today.
But then, this sex wouldn’t have been as delicious as it was going to be.
He growled into your ear as he thrusted inside of you in one sharp movedent, hilting himself into your cunt, bottoming out completely, and you could barely breathe. It was a sudden stretch. It was big, suffocating even, knocking all the air that was held in your lungs. His hands were on each side of your head, but his lips were on your ear, breathing into it.
He waited for a few seconds for you to adjust to him, but also to calm himself down because he was sure he was going to cum two strokes in. He took deep breaths in as he concentrated on anything else but your soft little whimpers. He felt you roll your hips against him, and he cursed under his breath, his hands gripping the sheets beneath you.
His hips started to slowly roll, in and out, soft movements to get you used to the friction, and you were already going insane for it. You felt so full, each drag against you was incredible, making you tremble underneath him. Your nails were scratching on his back, legs spreading even more.
“Steve– More…” You gulped, not even believing the soft whimper, the soft plea that tumbled out of your lips. He hummed into your ear, and his hips started picking up a pace, and your moans finally started leaving your mouth. He felt a wave of heat all over his body the moment his name was called, breathlessly, and he had to see your face.
He leaned up, holding himself up by his hands as his hips snapped into yours. Your face was contorted in pleasure. Your eyebrows were downwards, your mouth was open, and your eyes were half lidded as you stared at the ceiling. You looked marvelous, and fuck he wanted to see more. He wanted to see you choke on your words.
He sat back on his legs, his hands coming to grip the back of your knees to keep you spread for him, and he started moving in fast thrusts, deep, making the bed creak and the headboard hit the wall behind it, over and over again. Your moans became louder, your hands coming to grip the pillow beneath you. Your eyes found his face. He was frowning, the hair now almost sticking to his forehead, his body was flushed red, and you noticed how the veins on his biceps were pronounced, as well as the one on his neck.
He rolled his head over his shoulders at a particular drag of his cock, making you clench around him. Then again, this time, making him moan your name, which made your brain short-circuit.
“You feel so fucking good…” He felt his belly burning, and he knew he had to be quick in making you cum again because he was going to anytime soon. It was embarrassing, but he wasn’t a man of taking groupies, or fucking his fans. He also barely had time to jerk himself off, because he was barely alone.
You whimpered at his words, your back arching off the bed as your body bounced back and forth thanks to his thrusts. His eyes were fixed on your breasts, watching them, and he growled as he moved downwards once again, his lips closing on your left nipple and softly tugging on it.
“Steve!” You gasped and he gave the same treatment to the right one, making you clench around his cock. He growled into your breast, his thrusts becoming slow, shallow, and deep. Each time he pulled out, he kept the tip in, only to thrust back in roughly, rolling his hips inside of you at the end of it.
At each snap, you both heard the loud thump of the headboard, but it only heightened the experience. Whoever was next to him, if they saw you the next day walking out of his room, they would know what happened. He couldn’t care less; in fact, he hoped someone would see you. Someone would see you walking out, with wobbly legs, with his marks all over your neck.
He continues that pace, getting his hand between your bodies, his fingers finding your sensitive clit which made you jerk your hips towards him. You were breathless as tears pooled in your eyes from how good it felt. How amazing he was making you feel, and you wanted to punch him for that. His breath was in your ear as his fingers picked up a pace, making you mewl underneath him.
“Say it.” You frowned in confusion, only for his teeth to bite your earlobe, making you gasp.
“Say what?” He rolled his hips inside of you, making your hands snap towards his biceps, gripping him tightly as you moaned out his name.
“That you don’t hate me.” Another roll that had you biting on his shoulder, a moan escaping his lips, and into your ear.
“I don’t hate you…” You answered and he moaned your name, sweetly, this time, and you felt your body light up at his tone. Your belly started to burn up again, twirling inside out, and his fingers were working overtime now to get you to cum for a second time.
“Louder, baby. Say it louder.” His hips started moving faster, your walls fluttering around him as your hands ran through his hair, pushing his mouth into your neck. You could feel him biting down on your skin, making you whimper and shiver underneath him.
“I don’t hate you, Steve! Please– Don’t stop–” And he doesn’t. He kept the pace, his fingers on your sensitive clit, swirling around as his cock kept punishing your insides. Your g-spot was grazed at each stroke, and your eyes started to roll to the back of your head.
“I’m about to cum– Fuck–” He cursed your name, and you started panting before your second orgasm crashed into you like a tidal wave, stronger than the first one. Your walls clenched tightly around him, your eyes shutting tightly, and your nails digging into his shoulders.
His name came out of your lips with a cry, your cunt trying to push him out of you from how much you were clenching. He huffed a few breaths, choking on his moans from how tight you felt, to the point it was almost painful. He watched you contort underneath him, and you never looked more amazing than right now.
And at your sight, he came. He groaned your name as he spilled inside the condom, his hands coming to grip the pillow underneath your head as he snapped his hips into you at each spurt. His face almost looked pained, but it was the complete opposite. He could barely handle the pleasure he felt, and he was sure he came way too hard into the condom.
You managed to open your eyes to see his reaction, and fuck– He looked so good like that. Definitely another look you liked on him. Then he finally stilled, and that left the two of you breathing heavily, looking at each other with half-lidded eyes.
You two crossed a line that should not have been crossed. You couldn’t blame the alcohol because that just made you both brave—brave to do something you were scared of doing before. It didn’t make you do something you two didn’t want; it urged and encouraged you to do it.
Then, he winced when he slowly pulled out of you, looking down at the mess he had made and– he did cum a lot. You groaned at the feeling, and then his eyes found yours again. Should you leave? Should you just… bid goodbye to him now? You didn’t know what any of this really meant, so you needed some guidance over here. You didn’t want to leave, but didn’t know where Steve stood.
“Well… that happened…” You softly spoke, and Steve huffed, nodding and plopping next to you, staring at the ceiling, same as you. He took the condom off and tied it up, throwing it on the floor, something he could take care of later, because right now, he couldn’t concentrate on that.
“Yeah. That happened.” He was also thinking the same things you were. Should he let you sleep in his room if he leaves? Should he just let himself fall asleep? But fuck, he didn’t want to just pretend that didn’t happen.
So, fuck it.
You were surprised when you felt arms engulf you, pulling you towards a chest as you both now lay on your sides. Your eyes were fixed on his chest hair, feeling your cheeks burning like crazy because you weren’t prepared for him to cuddle you. Not that you were complaining.
His hands rubbed against your back, his thoughts running. He wasn’t going to let this happen just once. Hell, he wanted what happened back down in the bar. He wanted to kiss you whenever you frowned at him. He wanted to make you proud as well, following your instructions, letting you know he heard. Letting you know he took your words into account.
“Still think I’m overrated?” You couldn’t help but chuckle, your arms wrapping around him.
“Absolutely…”
But maybe you weren’t so sure you meant it now. His fingertips were softly grazing your skin, giving you soft caresses that made you melt more and more into him. You hummed appreciatively against him, nuzzling against his chest. Then, you started laughing, pulling back a bit from him. He frowned, a smile creeping on his lips.
“What?”
“I just remembered– So many of the comments I get, say that I secretly want to fuck you. That, that’s the reason why I do the blog.” His eyebrows raised in surprise, then a squint with a cheeky glint.
“Secretly? If only they knew we might have to pay the safety deposit of this hotel room because, pretty sure, we made a hole in the wall with the headboard.” You giggled, covering your face in shame, and he could not stop himself from being amused by this new side of you. “You gonna tell your loyal followers the truth?”
“That I got railed by the rockstar I roast for fun?” You hummed a bit, looking up at him. “Tempting.”
“Only if you include the part where you begged.” He smirked and you scoffed, shaking your head, but your heart was filling up with small little butterflies.
“I did not beg.”
“Oh, honey…” He bit his lip, loving this little banter with you as he rolled on top of you again, holding one of your hands against the pillow. “You absolutely begged.”
Before, you would have wanted to punch the smug grin on his face, but right now, you wanted to kiss it. His hair was all messy, and his skin was all flushed. He just looked too pretty, irking you just a little bit.
“You are more tolerable when you don’t talk.” You snarkily replied, and he coughed a chuckle, giving you a small nod.
“And you’re pretty when you’re helping me, instead of being a bit of a bitch.” Your eyebrows raised up in surprise, your mouth falling open. Your heart skipped a bit, tilting your head at him.
“Is this admitting you like me, rockstar?” He hummed, putting his lips on your shoulder to lay a soft, lazy kiss there. You sighed, your eyes fluttering closed for a second.
“Let’s say, I didn’t hate fucking you stupid.”
“Wow, romance isn’t dead.” You replied dryly, not really liking that answer, not noting the sarcasm and humor behind his tone. He noticed, chuckling and pulling his head back up to look down at your angry face.
“Let me take you out.” And you weren’t expecting that, your breathing catching in your throat as you tried to swallow from the sudden nerves that invaded you.
“Like a date?” He gulped, finally feeling his stomach turning at the fear of your answer. He slowly nodded, finally admitting to wanting more than to share some sheets with you.
“What do you say?”
You couldn’t help but ponder. This was probably a bad idea, wasn’t it? No matter how you looked at it, this would end up in shambles, wouldn’t it? He was someone famous, you were just a person in his team. That’s all. He noticed you were hesitating, making him grow a little anxious and a bit desperate, so he tried talking again–
“You can still make fun of me, my music, my lyrics, and what I wear. I will even let you write a scathing review of my bedroom performance…” He gulped, knowing he was begging at this point, but something about you was driving him insane. Something was telling him to risk it. To dive in.
And you found it endearing. You couldn’t help but find him extremely charming, making you bite your bottom lip as your eyes went back and forth with his. You leaned up and gave him a soft kiss on the lips, pulling away with a small nod.
“Okay… Just one.” He smiled at your response, wanting to fist pump the air.
“That’s all I need.” You rolled your eyes, shaking your head. You weren’t going to show him how happy you were, at least not yet. You poked his chest jokingly, raising an eyebrow at him.
“You’re still not that great, you know?” You fought, and he smirked, his mouth leaning close to yours, his voice low and a bit wicked, which made chills run down your spine.
“Then, let me prove you wrong, again.”

g!p drunk karina idk if i asked this alr i forgot or maybe not
this is the first time you ask this anon!!
cw: alcohol, breeding, creampie, riding.

from the beginning you knew that accepting the invitation to the program on lee youngji’s youtube channel was a bad idea when you knew that you’d have to go with karina
she had already attended that show in 2023, but that episode was so chaotic. karina was the only idol who touched her plate of food during the video, and yet, not even when her mouth was full of food did she shut up or stop being so loud and noisy 😮💨 and when youngji gave her a compliment and she replied “stop lying. you say that to all the female idols.” you didn’t know whether to call it having bad temper or an unbearable attitude
and so it was! that day, it seemed like karina and youngji were competing to see who could playfully flirt with you, giving you sudden compliments and most of them were very unnecessary or stupid honestly
youngji giving you more alcohol than she should 😭 none of the idols who attended got drunk, rather tipsy or something looser, but you and karina? according to youngji’s words, it was a single bottle of soju, but you swear that every time the bottle was about to run out, the moment you looked away from it and back at the drink, it magically appeared full again 🤨 but she said you were probably just being a lightweight with a bad memory and your brain was playing tricks on you
and coming home was a complete horror 💀 both you, but especially karina, were too drunk to be able to use your phones and order a taxi or call the manager 😭 youngji having to take care of that on her own, pretending to be oblivious to the reason why you two seemed so affected by alcohol when supposedly all three of you ingested the same amounts of alcohol, when she was always focusing on talking more to avoid drinking too much and letting you be the ones who drink the most drinks
having to help karina get into the taxi because she was too drunk that she couldn’t get into the car and almost hit her forehead because apparently she forgot that to get into a car you have to bend down a little and lower your head
the way home being complete silence 😶 you feel the driver’s gaze on you at all times, his eyes meeting yours through the rearview mirror was something impossible to ignore 🤐 that old man probably thought you were two idiots who went out with their friends and drank until they got drunk…
karina leaned against the car door, looking through the window with an expression that made it abundantly clear that a part of her was no longer here… but what dominated your thoughts the most was you praying inside that she doesn’t feel nauseous or throw up in the taxi car 😣 it would be too much embarrassment for your own good
upon arriving at her apartment building, you pay the driver and get out of the car with her in record time, you were longing to get home and lie down in your bed, your body longing for that much–loved rest that the next morning would take its toll on you with a terrible hangover
helping karina walk to the elevator by putting your arm around her torso, but luckily, at least she wasn’t pushing her weight against your side because you weren’t strong enough to carry her
but she changes completely when she gets to the door of her apartment?!?!? you innocently thought that maybe the effects of the alcohol were slowly wearing off... how naive of you!
you sit on the couch with your phone in hand, ready to order another taxi so that this time you can be the one to head home
“what are you doing?” you didn’t hear karina’s footsteps when she approached you, much less did you feel when she sat on the couch next to you too close
“uhm, trying to hail a cab home.”
“you’re not going anywhere.”
you look at her with a frown, not understanding what the problem is with wanting to go home after a long and tiring day
“it‘s not safe for you to go home in this state. i mean, you’re a little drunk and it wouldn’t be very polite of me to leave you alone in this state. besides, the driver might try to take advantage of it.”
her words would have been sweeter and showed her concern for you if it weren’t for the fact that her hand is resting on your thigh and dangerously close to your inner thigh, sliding up and down as her head rests on your shoulder with her face almost hidden in the crook of your neck
and you would say something at the sudden and very close touch if it weren't for the fact that she doesn’t let you react and suddenly kisses you
you would object to this but you would be lying if you said you hadn’t wanted for a long time to be this close to your dear leader... but please! she’s the whole combo. that pretty face with pronounced and sharp features that looks good even without makeup. that body… at first, it seemed a little absurd when fans were so obsessed with the term “body goals” or always talking about the artists’ bodies, but god, when you started going to the gym or practicing and rehearsing choreographies for comebacks or performances at awards ceremonies with karina, your mouth watered every time karina wore tight shirts or something that accentuated her chest 👀 and when she wore leggings or sweatpants? it was more than a difficult task for you not to have your eyes glued to the notorious outline of her dick 😣 you felt like a pervert having your gaze glued to your leader’s crotch every time you saw the tent in her pants, almost immediately taking your eyes off her and hoping that if anyone noticed they would think you were just staring at a blank spot or just not focusing your gaze
you don’t remember exactly when you went from just kissing karina on the couch in her apartment to being on her lap riding her cock... but you weren’t complaining!
based on her blurry eyes and lazy grin you can’t exactly tell what she’s concentrating on right now… maybe she was paying attention to the vulnerable look on your face, noticing the frown and grimace you were trying to hide due to you having some difficulty getting used to the size of your leader ☹️ or maybe she was admiring the way your hips moved against hers and how your pussy was having some trouble taking her length completely because look at her! she’s definitely big and just by looking at her face you know it 😉 and the way your tits were bouncing under your shirt? that was something that had caught karina’s gaze and had taken her full attention, if it were up to her, she wouldn’t have hesitated twice to tear the fabric from your skin and let your bare breasts jiggle in front of her face or even bury her face between them and entertain her mouth for a while… but karina’s hands were too busy resting on your thighs and massaging your skin, occasionally rising to sit on your hip bones and guide your movements, or even go down to your ass and give your cheeks a couple of slaps until they have bright red finger marks and then massage the skin to make sure you’re not so sore afterwards because she’s not that mean!
she’s sooo cocky about it. “having a hard time up there? c’mon baby, i know you can take it. do it for unnie.” and she digs her fingers into your hips as she moves her own hips up to meet yours and thrust into you 😵💫
and she absolutely loves it when your orgasm starts to get closer and you lose control completely, going from having your hands on her shoulders to wrapping your arms around her neck and pressing your chest against hers as you lose complete control as you ride her 🥴
and karina is not mean or selfish at all! massaging your clit with two of her fingers in a rhythm that drove you crazy, whispering taunts mixed with compliments in your ear and looking at you with glossy eyes and a smug smile… she really enjoyed it when you came on her cock at the same time as she filled your womb with her seed! 🥰 keeping her cock inside your pussy to make sure she keeps it all inside you until your walls absorb it completely and not even the smallest drop dares to escape
your limp body resting on top of karina’s because riding her took all the energy out of your body and the alcohol was starting to take its toll on you and you were starting to feel dizzy 💔
luckily, karina unnie is always here to take care of her members, especially when it comes to her favorite member ❤️ running a hand through your hair, brushing away the loose strands that stuck to your forehead from the thin layer of sweat covering your body, giving you a kiss on the crown of your head and massaging your back
but karina was in a much worse state than you, even if you don’t believe it! it was enough to leave you lying on her bed for her body to fall on the mattress as if she had no life
and well, the next day is a different story. waking up with karina hugging you from behind, her chest pressed against your back and murmuring a ‘good morning.’ in a deep and raspy voice 😵💫 she offers you to shower with her because according to her words it’s late and you have less than an hour to get ready and go to the company, and well, for one or another reason you two end up having a quickie in the shower, karina pressing your chest against the cold tiles of the wall and fucking you from behind with her hands having an almost tearing grip on your waist and growling in your ear 🤤
arriving at practice with an unbearable hangover and pain in your hips that you try to hide but it’s difficult when you have to do a movement that requires too much effort in that area… the members know that you did nothing but sit and drink with youngji yesterday, but none of them dare to comment on what their unnies do in their free time together

¡vamos! II Laia Codina x Arsenal!Reader
GIF by idontknowwfc
romantic masterlist | platonic masterlist | word count: 1528
summary: amid the joy and chaos after the final whistle in Lyon, Laia wasn’t just capturing the moment with her camera—she was capturing your love too. requested
author's note: hi everyone, this video was our inspiration for the fanfic. We can't wait to hear what you think ! 🥰🥰
disclaimer: everything in this fanfiction is purely fictional and nothing corresponds to reality.
Excited, Laia turned the film camera towards herself, her grip steady as she smirked at the lens, promising: “I’m going to film everything. Don’t worry.”
“Who gave you a camera?”, Katie raised an eyebrow, half-amused, half-bewildered. The Irish woman hadn’t noticed when one of the staff had handed the Spanish defender the small, portable device.
The atmosphere was electric. Arsenal had done what few believed possible at their chaotic start of the season. Now, as the final whistle pierced the air of the Lyon stadium, the players seated on the elevated bench began to rise, one by one, drawn to the pitch by sheer disbelief and joy.
Laia didn’t so much as blink at Katie’s question. She was already on her feet, swept up in the tide of teammates spilling down the steps.
“¡Vamos!”, she cried, beaming as the spring sun which bathed the pitch in golden light.
“Did she just fucking ignore me?”, Katie shook her head.
Chloe, hearing her, turned with a lifted brow and a flicker of amusement dancing in her eyes: “She really does film everything, doesn’t she?”
“She doesn’t even know what she’s filming anymore. Laia’s just carrying that cam like it’s glued to her hand.”, Katie observed.
Up ahead, players surged towards their coach. Renée stood on the touchline, arms wide open, her face lit with pride and wonder. They vaulted the barrier in a blur of movement, laughter spilling out, boots thudding softly against the green grass, tears mingling with shouts of triumph.
“Laia!”, Mariona’s voice rang out, trying to flag her down, remind her, maybe, of what the camera might catch.
But Laia didn’t hear her. She had turned already, her eyes scanning, searching—until they landed on you.
The camera hung loosely now, forgotten at her side. Her whole face lit up, transformed by that unmistakable smile, the kind only meant for you.
You were standing with Alessia and Leah, all three of you suspended in that strange, shimmering moment after victory.
“Hi.”, Laia said, simply.
Mirroring her smile, your cheeks still flushed from the match, you answered softly: “Oh, hey.”
“You were great.”, she whispered into your ear, her voice low, proud.
Your face turned redder, but you smiled wider: “Thank you.”
“Y/n, they want to do a double interview with you and Lessi.”, Renée’s voice cut gently through the moment.
“Coming.”, you assured her, then turned to Laia, ready to say goodbye, but before you could move, she reached for you, tugging you in. Her arms wrapped around you.
And then she kissed you fiercely, without hesitation, like it was the only thing in the world that mattered.
Laia stood there for a second after your lips separated, a huge grin plastered across her face. She just nodded and said, “Okay, cool.”
You winked at her one last time before heading to your interview.
While you mentally prepared what to say, Laia continued across the pitch. joy radiating from her as she made her way to Arsenal’s captain.
“Kimmy!”, she called out, pulling the smaller woman into a tight hug.
Kims eyes widened with surprise. “Did you just kiss her on the mouth while recording?”, she asked, half incredulous, half scolding, as she pointed to the camera still in Laia’s hand.
Laia followed her gaze and flinched: “What? Shit!”
“It’s fine. I’m sure they can cut it out before posting.“, Lotte said calmly as she joined them. Then, with a crooked smirk, she added, “Unless you want to go public with it.”
Laia shrugged: “I guess I’ll have to talk to her about it.”
“You should.”, Kim agreed with a firm nod.
“I will. But first I have to make more videos.”, the defender said, already raising the camera again and heading off to film more celebrations.
Meanwhile, you and Alessia were standing side by side at the interview area. Multiple microphones and a camera were pointed at you both, but you could barely take any of it seriously. You were still exhilarated from the game, the performance and the end result. It all felt like a dream.
So when Alessia was asked how she felt after the game and replied: “Yeah, we’re obviously buzzing.“, you couldn’t hold it together anymore. Her go-to word even made an appearance after such an important game. You had to fight to keep from bursting out laughing, though a little snort still escaped.
Alessia elbowed you in the side: “Y/n, stop laughing.”
“Sorry, Lessi.”, you coughed to cover your smile and trying to compose yourself
Alessia professionally ignored you and continued to reply to the question: “Everyone was just incredibly today.”
“Agreed, it was truly a masterclass from the team on and off the pitch.”, you added, pride clear in your voice.
“It really was.”
Just as the young journalist opened his mouth to ask another question, Katie appeared out of nowhere, grabbing both of you by the arms.
“Time to party!”, she announced as she dragged you off.
The reporter could only watch one as you were swept away and you almost felt bad for him. But celebrating this milestone with your teammates seemed much more important than answering a few more boring questions.
“Follow us, we’re celebrating.”, you called out as soon as you spotted your girlfriend.
Nervously, Laia cleared her throat and pulled you into a quieter corner. “Amor? Can we talk?”
“Of course.”, you replied, though her sudden seriousness left you puzzled. Where had the cheerful Spaniard gone?
“So... I accidentally filmed our kiss and unfortunately, we look very cute on camera.”, the defender confessed, offering a charmingly shy smile.
It was clearly not the explanation you had expected; a disbelieving laugh escaped your lips: “Wait, you did what?”
“Yes?”, the brunette replied, her chocolate-brown eyes sparkling with amusement.
You both jumped slightly as Daphne’s voice chimed in: “I told you, you two look great on film. I still have those photos from our last day out.”
For a moment, you closed your eyes, recalling the picnic the goalkeeper had mentioned, one of those first warm days in a London park when everything felt lighter, the sun warming the grass beneath you. It had been clear then that you and Laia were in love. The memory brought you a sense of calm.
“What do you think, amor? Should we post Daphne’s pictures of us before the video comes out? No more hiding.”, you proposed your idea.
Your girlfriend agreed: “I think we should.”
On the flight home, night had already fallen, and the lights below twinkled like stars. You settled into your seat beside Laia, who was rewatching the video she’d recorded earlier.
“We have to save this, so our future children can see how cool we were.”, the Spaniard suggested with a grin.
Mariona, seated directly behind you, immediately protested: “You two might have been together longer than Lia and me, but you’re far too young to be thinking about kids!”
Her Swiss girlfriend nodded in agreement, chuckling: “Yes—no baby talk on this flight.”
“Alright, alright, we hear you. Katie, hand us the drink.”, you requested with a mischievous smile, glancing over at the Irish defender.
She shook her head and protectively covered her champagne bottle. “Nope, it’s mine.” “Katie.” “You girls can have it, she’s clearly had enough already.”, Caitlin cut in, smoothly taking the bottle from her girlfriend’s grasp.
“Rude.”, Katie muttered, pouting.
“Gracias.”, Laia said brightly as you both took a sip of the golden liquid.
Smiling, Mariona raised her own glass:” Cheers, chicas.”
“Cheers,” Laia replied.
Suddenly, you stood up, your voice thick with emotion as you lifted your glass for a toast: “To a day we’ll hopefully never forget.”
“We won’t! This is historic!”, Leah yelled. Earlier, in the post-match huddle, she’d reminded everyone just how special this moment was for Arsenal.
Kim’s eyes glistened once more. She had given nearly seventeen years to the club when the midfielder first arrived, memories of their last European Cup win were still vivid. And now, they’d done it again.
“We made history today.”, she murmured softly.
Beth quickly pulled her into a hug.
“Don’t start crying again.”, she laughed.
“Shut up, Beffy. I’m not crying but you and Leah are.”, the captain protested, pointing at the two players.
Beth didn’t respond, just wiped at her glazed-over eyes.
Katie interrupted, raising her glass solemnly.
“Now it’s my turn. Tonight, we won through the power of friendship and lesbianism!”
It was such a ridiculous toast that the whole team burst into giggles. “You can’t say that!” Kim scolded with a smile. “Yes, I can,” Katie shot back, completely unfazed.
You knew they’d be bickering about this for a while, so you turned to Laia.
Her face was soft and full of love as she watched the other players.
“Our team…”, she whispered.
You smiled at her: “Yeah, I know. I love them too.”
“Yes,” Laia said, leaning in to press a quick kiss to your lips. “But I love you the most of all of them.”
You smiled against her lips, knowing this night would live in your heart forever, not just for the history you made, but for the people you made it with.

This video showcases my Blender model of the planet that the Scud aliens call home, the fourth and final world I've mapped out for @jayrockin's "Runaway to the Stars" project. A *lot* of maps were created in service of this final render, and also in service of presenting the special qualities of this planet. I intend to show you as many of these as I can under the cut, and also in subsequent posts focusing on some of the more interstitial, ancillary maps and figures that played a part in producing the primary maps you'll see in this main post.
Before I show the first maps I made for this project, what you see below are the satellite-style maps for the Equinoxes and Solstices, in order of (Northern) Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, the latter serving as the texture for the Blender object you saw in the video.
__________
With that matter covered, our next focus is this project's foundation: Geology. While I didn't spin as elaborate a tectonic history for this planet as I did for the Ayrum commission, I did work out as much detail as I could for the more recent geological activity, to set the stage for the elevation data - including a narrower focus on the coastal shallows that host the Scud populations.
__________
Once I could move on to climate, my first step was finding this planet's relative Insolation, which I managed thanks to @reversedumbrella's code and coaching. With an obliquity of only 16 degrees, this planet's yearly maximum Insolation levels stick close to the equator, compared to pole-to-pole oscillation we see on Earth
__________
Having a rough sense of where heat would concentrate seasonally and how the landmasses would deflect water in light of the planet's retrograde spin, I was able to set down the bi-annual ocean currents (Northern Summer above and Northern Winter below), then the monthly water temperatures pushed around by said currents, and finally -after factoring in many other considerations- the monthly land temperatures as well (combined in the second gif)
__________
Next came the seasonal air pressure maps and subsequent wind patterns (my first time creating those from scratch), which later factored into the precipitation maps. The incredible temperatures at the largest continent's interior make a desert of most of it, and the other interiors are fairly dry too, but all that heat on the equatorial ocean generates a *lot* of evaporation which ends up coming down elsewhere.
__________
With temperatures and precipitation mapped out for each month, I was able to find how the accumulation and melt of ice and snow played out, too. Given such a hot equator it's surprising to see freezing temperatures hold out in some places, but low obliquity and high elevation shield what areas they can, it seems.
__________
All this monthly data was then painstakingly combined and compared and plugged into equations to produce maps of discrete climate zones, using both the Köppen (left) and Trewartha (right) classification systems. The higher latitudes see some overlap with Earth's conditions, but the Tropics...
__________
I never really finished the map I wanted to make with my own loosely customized classification system, but I *did* get as far as this breakdown of the areas that sometimes surpass 56.7 degrees Celsius, Earth's record for highest surface temperature ever directly measured. And as you can see, that earthly record is broken by a *significant* fraction of this planet's surface, and far exceeded by the equatorial continent's deep interior
__________
The final phase of this project dealt with creating satellite maps of this planet's surface (which you saw at the top of this post), which started with a map of dry and submerged substrate, then a density map of the vegetation that sits atop it, then the colors of that vegetation under annual average conditions (demonstrating how they would appear in-person, rather than the area's appearance from orbit), and finally plant colors under seasonal conditions (same conceit as previous). In concert with the seasonal ice and snow maps, it was the four maps in the last sequence which were overlaid on the Substrate map, using the plant density map as raster masks, to produce the final Satellite-Style maps.

__________
This planet's sophonts being a marine species, it was then worth focusing on the conditions underwater, which included monthly seafloor temperatures (first gif), annual discharge of sediment from rivers (magenta in the 2nd gif), and seasonal upwelling of nutrients from deeper water (blue in the 2nd gif).
The creation of all my maps seen in this post was possible thanks to Photopea, which has been my go-to for several years now. The resolution kinda got crunched when I uploaded these here, so when I share them on Reddit later I'll add those links under this. These have also already been posted on Twitter, which you can see here if you like. Thanks for scrolling all the way down here!

Part 1
Fenton Crime Family 2
-Batcave-
The batmobile enters the cave with a resounding boom. When it stops, Nightwing, Batman, Robin and Red Robin jump out of the car with Batman going to the batcomputer to make a report. The rest go to change their suit when the elevator bell sounded. Out comes Alfred with a tray of tea and snacks.
Alfred: Returning early today, Master Bruce?
Bruce: *Grunts* Someone has already captured all the rogues before we reach them.
Red Robin: And Oracle can't find any footage of the person in question. All she got is blurry and fuzzy images and the next moment, the rogue has already been tied up. The only thing we know is that the rogues that got beaten up all are around The Bowery.
A revved of a motorcycle enters the Batcave and Red Hood enters with Black Bat and Spoiler following from behind. Red Hood gets off his bike and sits on one of the sofas while taking a plate of cookies from the tray.
Red Hood: I think I know the guy you are talking about.
Red Robin: You know?
Red Hood: Yeah. There is a new gang in The Bowery. They call themselves the Undead. Their MO is completely different from any other gang in Gotham.
Red Robin: So our guy is part of this gang?
Red Hood: Worse. The guy is possibly the leader of the gang.
Red Robin: What?
Red Hood: You say any video of the guy is corrupted in someway right?
Red Robin: Yeah. The image is blurry and the audio is unusable.
Red Hood: Yeah. That's the same thing that happens to all the spying devices I use on them. No recording devices can directly record the leader specifically but from what I know, the leader is supposed to be a child.
Batman: A child?
Red Hood: Yeah. And no. She will not get adopted by you. Apparently, she has a personal vendetta against rich people.
Nightwing: Welp. There goes my new sister.
Robin: I would appreciate it if father put more restraint on his adoption problem.
Batman: *Grunts*
Red Robin: What else do we know about the girl?
Red Hood: Not much actually. Most of the people around her are children around Damian's age so we can assume she is also around that age.
Red Robin: What about her gang?
Red Hood: Remember how I say their MO is completely different from anyone else? Yeah, that's because they don't seem to work like a gang.
Batman: Explain.
Red Hood: They don't partake in any illegal activity at all except for some sketchy gold selling that doesn't have any source. Even those golds are sold at a very high price because they are old gold. Apparently, the collectors are going crazy for them.
Red Robin: Then how do they obtain money?
Red Hood: Using their money as capital, they bought buildings and shops and made their gang members work there. Hell if not for the fact that I know it's a gang, I would have mistaken them as a company.
Red Robin: Anything else?
Red Hood: The leader also has a brother and an unknown sister. Both are older with only the brother ever showing up. White hair, green eyes and around Timmy's and Cass's height.
Black Bat: *Frown*
Spoiler: Wassup BB? Got any news?
Black Bat: I meet the brother.
Red Robin: What? Where?
Black Bat: On a rooftop. He says he is on the lookout for rogues.
Nightwing: You are not hurt right? He didn't attack you?
Black Bat: No. Not hostile.
Red Hood: I thought so. My underlings also say that The Undead is quite friendly. They wouldn't actively hunt other gangs unless provoked first.
Batman: Find out more about them. All of you go to bed. I will finish the report.
Red Hood: Well I guess that's my cue to go. See you never old man.
Red Hood then gets on his motorcycle and exits the cave. The others also move and return to the manor. The others realize that Cass is unusually absent minded the whole time they are going to bed. Cass is usually quiet but her eyes also show that she is not focusing on her surroundings.
She lays on her bed after showering thinking heavily on today's event. The guy that she meets on the rooftop seems so familiar to her. She just doesn't know who.
-The Bowery-
Ellie is not having a good day. First, Danny and Jazz are pressuring her to go to school at breakfast. She says she doesn't like school and their response is how can she not like it when she never experienced it herself. To that response, she has seen how Danny struggles with class and she is pretty sure he is not having fun.
Then there is that new gang that suddenly rises up. It's one thing to make a new gang. But then they have the audacity to send people to kidnap Danny. Sure, Danny is strong enough to raze Gotham to the ground if he wants to. But it's the principle that counts. She is going to punt their group to the ground for doing something like that.
And then there is this Arkham breakout. Why can't all these guys just stay in Arkham anyway? It's not like there is much for them to do outside. After she beats up Condiment King (Ellie swears she is going to kill this guy for covering her in mustard) and Professor Pyg, she gets the news that Danny has already beat up all the rogues near The Bowery.
On the bright side though, she met this cute guy named Damian. He has a little temper but not something she hasn't dealt with before. She is apparently some rich guy's son but she really can't see the similarities in their mannerism from what she sees in this Brucie Wayne guy. After talking for a bit they promised to go out on a date at a zoo. His dad sponsors it and apparently there is a new animal in the exhibition.
After all things are settled she goes back home to have dinner with her family. After teasing Danny a little bit about his date, she goes to bed excited for the date.
