Mechari was originally founded as a research centre that was a hub for all scientists to congregate without hassle or political nonsense. The country used to house various humanoids alongside robots until W03 came into power.

A harsh propaganda campaign fuelled by Patria Magia had Mechari's residents feel uneasy about their leader becoming a robot compared to the humans they had in the past, and were encouraged to move, much to the chagrin of W03. This event tanked their economy for almost two decades, as he worked hard to get the country to become self-sustaining.

This worked out in his favour, as the economy is now stable again. It's also one of the few places that provides all types of bots with jobs, energy, and shelter compared to the rest of the planet which has a mild disdain at best and utter hatred at worst.

Most bots who live there just want to be left alone to their own devices, and couldn't care less about the opinions of humanoids. New robot residents are usually refugees built in other countries that have escaped forced servitude, or built from scratch from recycled materials if necessary. Though sometimes there's a rare occasion where two robots will couple up and build a bot of their own.

Gender and sexuality are seen as null by the oldest generations of bots (60+ years), opting to be called it, and rarely bothering with relationships. Bots which were made during the period of time that Dr. Gale was an Overseer (under 60) enjoyed the presentation of femininity (referred to as 0 or Port) and masculinity (referred to as 1 or Plug). There's no design that says you have to look a certain way to be referred to as either, but some robots have opted to follow humanoid presentations. Unfortunately, the outside world still refers to bots typically as it/its or offensively as robot.

If humanoids do enter the factory, they're usually left alone unless they cause trouble. Most robots understand that sometimes, people want to get lost or focus on their work. But the occasion has become less frequent in recent years.

The most recent humanoid visitor turned resident is Oxsvan. And, well... That's where the story starts.
