I’ve seen fics where Haytham prefers / enjoys horseback riding more than travel at sea and it is always very amusing. I would like to make an addition: horses absolutely hate Shay’s guts on SIGHT and he has learned to stay away for self-preservation. He has no idea why, he’s a sweetheart to animals by nature, but horses? Horses as a species have decided to commit felonies against this specific irishman the moment his fingers are anywhere near nipping range.

Haytham will not let him live it down. Monthly source of entertainment whenever he sends Shay on an errand of “utmost importance” that absolutely requires a trek on horseback.
