Now I’m testing gaming.I don’t have an nvidia gpu, but the emulation scene for Android looks promising. Even makes it easy to change between servers, but haven’t had enough time to test. Mrmc is the one with the most promise to me in terms of what I need and integrated Plex sign in. Kodi is the superior player at this point, and I think I finally have it set up properly using a plugin to map my Plex server as native kodi videos. NVidia should really just be specific instead of vague in the FAQ, and list the devices that work by name, like the FLIRC. I signed up for Plex pass to try the latest player, but it constantly has issues.

Shame Apple TV can’t bitstream my atmos, as I have now watched 4 discs without issue on it. About the only thing not handled by the short cuts are getting into the guide (but there is a dedicated "guide" button on the remote) and the directional keys (also dedicated buttons).

I have even programmed shortcuts on the touchscreen to make it easier to use. I also use the Harmony Hub with touchscreen remote. I really need to look into getting the same shortcuts working when using the app on Shield, but I have not actually done this yet. What has everyone's experience been like on the Shield TV with Flirc I hope the Inter-Key Delays are lower which means no double clicks. When I press a button, a lot of the time, Flirc interprets it as a double press which can get very annoying. While I do use the app on the Shield, the shortcuts I mentioned are actually programmed for my HD-300's. KodiShield 7y I am using Flirc on my Ouya at the moment and I've been having a few problems. I realized after rereading this that people are asking about using SageTV from within the Shield device.

I can't believe I bought the little tube one on a whim without realizing it had a gig less if ram and no USB ports.

I need the USB port since I use the flirc which is just a USB dongle that lets me use any ol tv remote I find and I don't wanna give that up. Because there are so many cool looking remotes in the world any I could use any of them on my tv. Little air conditioning remotes, weird massive 80s ones, whatever looks cool at goodwill I could use.

Have you ever used Flirc for any other kind of home automation tasks? I did some pretty crazy things with Eventghost considering I have no clue how to code! I was lucky enough to witness the birth of the modern smart home and it was a really exciting time. Very few of us were using our voice at that point. I used Vox commando to broadcast a request to Eventghost which then sent the Tellstick request using an eventghost plugin, I was probably literally the only person in the world using their voice to control an RF switch because at that point everyone was using X10, which was way too nerdy and expensive for me. That’s where Eventghost came in I had a USB dongle called a Tellstick that could blast RF frequencies to turn my RF light switch on and off. Vox Commando was incredible for that, but it couldn’t control my lights. I linked the two together before Alexa even existed so that I would be able to control Kodi (which back in those days was called XBMC). One was Vox Commando, which is an incredibly powerful piece of voice software, and Eventghost. I actually cut my teeth on two pieces of Windows software when I first started my home automation journey. I thought it would be a lost cause, but I was amazed when I found FLIRC!
