Happy Wednesday. In honor of my finals may have some FF, I feel like he would commiserate w me and help me prep for my French exam

5-8-24 WIP Wednesday (Open) | Fluent Freshman (FD)

There’s a lot of talking and joking until Tim, one of his foreign language major friends, suggests a drinking game of Never Have I Ever. The majority of the room agree and Smith is nursing his first ever drink and can’t help but wonder what’s in it.

A lot more people have come into the room while he was being coached on Mario Party. Most of the team is there and some other people he’s seen around their floor are also in attendance. The game goes smoothly and Smith, by way of having led a pretty bland and boring life, has not taken many sips of his drink.

It’s only about an hour in when the majority of the room is really tipsy that it’s Matt’s turn, “Never have I ever become fluent in a different language!” he says pointing at Nicky and Aaron who both take a sip but Matt seems shocked that the majority of the room also takes a sip.

5-1-24 WIP Wednesday | Fluent Freshman (FD)

The semester actually starting was a blessing.

Sure, he has classes, and he finally understands the full depth of why so many people had given him pitying looks when he had talked about his class schedule, but it’s so nice to be able to make friends with classmates. His teammates had remained friendly with him, but somehow practices had started to get even more confrontational lately with a lot of the freshmen pushing back against Jack, which in turn had Jack lashing out more often.

Smith had gotten quite a few offers from his fellow freshmen players to go out and do things but he started to decline the invites after they took him to a club and he almost passed out from the anxiety of being there. Smith should not be at a club; he is not built for the loud atmosphere. He had said that they should leave when he really just meant he should leave. The other freshmen had insisted that it was fine. Safe even! Not two minutes later a fight broke out and Smith had simply grabbed Ollie and Karla and walked right out of there the other freshmen following along.
