genuine question: would you support the meat manufacturing boycott if it were vegetable farmers calling for a boycott instead or are you just posting about it to further an unrelated political goal

You mean would I support the boycott of a particular plant-based food if workers were calling for a boycott? Absolutely. I boycott several companies on the grounds of human rights abuses, despite the fact that they make vegan products. It is not the case that vegans are capitalising on the workers call for a boycott to push our own agenda, it’s that our agenda is and always has been tied to the struggles of the workers involved in the animal agriculture industries, which unfortunately, just about every other social justice movement seems quite happy to ignore.

It goes without saying that as a vegan I can care about more than one issue; I advocate intersectional veganism and for the idea that all oppression is linked. Animal rights, workers rights, women’s rights, indigenous rights, the civil rights movement - these are all part of the same struggle against systematic oppression, a hierarchy based on the idea that some lives are worth less than others, and the rejection of the principle of equality. It is just not the case that these issues are unrelated. As an animal rights activist my focus is of course on advocating for the victims of animal agriculture, but that does include humans as well.
