Thank you for your brave advocacy, Rick and Morty is not edgelord slop! They're actually pretty sincere in how they write the characters and relationships between them. I think of it as like a more cynical spiritual successor to Futurama.

to be honest, i think Futurama is probably more cynical even. most people my generation probably don’t realise how cynical Futurama is because they just don’t “get” a lot of the jokes but it’s very much The Simpsons Of The Future in how it makes fun of the 90s/2000s through retrofuture parody
