I rarely share my own experiences on this Tumblr, but I thought that some of you might be interested in seeing more of Seoul and life here through my eyes ) So let me take you on a walk through one of my favorite Seoul neighborhoods - Hongdae 💜

Named after the famous Hongik University , Hongdae is a vibrant cultural hub known for its urban arts, indie music and underground culture, local fashion and night clubs. ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❓What #ToDo and #ToEat 🍴around Hongdae? 🤔 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Any wandering about should start with grabbing a bite to eat! 🍊🥙 One of my favorites - @ddamong.ddabong Healthy and delicious! It doesn't get fresher than straight from a grapefruit, right? 🤗 It's located in a quieter area of Hongdae, so take a stroll and check out all the cute little shops! 🛍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lazy Weekend tip 👉 Browsing around Hongdae Free Market is a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Walk around, enjoy the 1$ ice cream waffles (a must! 🍦😋), have a local artist draw a portrait of you (I have one, doesn't look anything like me, but whatever, it's cute), get some awesome postcards and prints (there are always new artists, so even if you come here every week, you'll see some new artworks.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hongdae is a great place to shop - from the flagship New Balance store, to Forever21, to multibrand Lotte El Cube, to local fashion boutiques ($-$$$) - here you will find everything your heart desires. That is, if your heart desires all things young and trendy. If you are shopping with your mom, this might not be the best shopping destination )). ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tired of all that shopping and walking around? How about lunch/dinner? @hakatabunko_official serve the most heavenly delicious ramen 🍜. They only have like 3 items on the menu and my gosh, do they excel at these! 🏆 #BadaSteak is ridiculously delicious! (📍look up the geotag). Btw, "bada" (바다) means "sea" in Korean. They specialize in seafood 🐟🦐🦀🦑🐙 And they serve black bread! ⠀⠀⠀⠀ In Korea you usually have dinner at one place and then move on to another to get dessert/drinks. Hongdae is packed with all kinds of bars and cafes. Personally, I love the tiny little ones tucked away in the quiet side streets. When you come out of the subway station into the crazy swirling of the crowd it might seem that Hongdae is just that - always bustling with people, always loud. But there's really so much more to it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Speaking of Hongdae Nightlife, there are a looot of clubs in this neighborhood! The more famous ones are Vera, Cocoon, M2, Aura. Fun fact: Gogos2 has no gogo girls, although judging from the name you would expect something special 👯 NB and NB2 are famously owned by YG. As for the places that I like, Secret Society and The Henz 🖤

THE PUNK DRUNK LOVE 24th LIVE

연습실 옆방을 쓰는 지원이랑 처음으로 이런저런 얘기다운 얘기를 나누다, 공연 많이 하고 싶다고 하니까 지원이의 전화 한 통으로 바로 성사된 공연. 대한민국은 역시 인맥 사회임을 다시 한번 느끼게 되는 순간이었다. 일요일이라 분명 사람은 없겠지. 했었는데 그 예상이 적중했고 다른 한편으로는 토요일이었다고 해도 별반 차이는 없었을 것이라는 생각을 했다.

한적한 클럽, 인기 없음. 도대체 무엇을 위해 계속하고 있는 것일까? 이미 늦어버렸다는 것을 ��면서도, 막연한 희망에 기대고 있는 것인가? 단지 즐겁기 때문이라고 하기에는 이제 다들 어깨에 짊어진 삶의 무게가 녹록치 않다.

사실 불안함에 이것저것 둘러보며 죽을 만큼 열심히 하고 있지도 않으면서, 그냥 그렇게 괴로운 상태로 존재한다. 그래서 알 수 없지만, 얄팍한 의미라도 부여하기 위해 필사적으로 이 절망의 일지를 기록하고 있다.

그런데 이런 침울한 생각과는 달리 이날만큼은 공연을 좀 잘했다. 모니터, 사운드 발란스도 좋았고 나의 컨디션도 좋았다. 단순하게도 그 이유 하나 만으로 기분이 좋아서 그날 하루는 충만함으로 채워질 수 있었다. 수많은 다짐과 격론, 그런 것들보다는 한번 잘한 공연만큼 밴드에게 활력을 주는 것은 없다고 생각했다. 당일 촬영한 영상이나 증언, 자료 같은 것은 없기 때문에 혹여나 잘했다는 것을 검증할 방도는 그 어디에도 없다.

170512 survived my final presentation exam on this day. walked all over sinchon looking for wetter posters. gave up and ate ramen and then absolutely delicious cheese curry bread???? gotta go back to find that curry bread shop asap. and then spontaneously stopped by gogos2 to see triss, whyme? and igloobay. was pretty fantastic.

Yesterday night was Fun!

Met so many lovely new -tumblr- people! (really need to figure out everyones url cause I'm confused!)

But anyway thanks aliwalibongo for inviting me cause I had a blast (also follow her everyone she needs more then just a 100 follower!)

We hit up Gogo2 first and I haven't been there in 2 years or so and I didn't like it back then but it was great. No cover, cheap drinks, good music and great people. Ran into Seoul-siren who recognized me and said hi!  (

is it weird to say that I'm starting to feel more and more like a celebrity.... for the past 3 weekends when I went out someone from tumblr came up to say hi or send me messages that they saw me. Anyway I love meeting new people and everyone is so so nice :D.

Anyway in gogo2 (or is it gogos2) I mustered up the courage to send Noona boy a message saying I missed him (보고파) which to my excitement he replied with me too 나두~, after that he reply nor read my messages but well. probably still sleeping.

After Gogos2 we went to Mad Holic if I remember correctly but first we started handing out my chocolate to random cute boys bought more chocolate and gave it to more people. In the club I gave my last piece and we ended up dancing and kissing for the rest of the night.

Ended up in a motel in yongdeungpo (however you write that). Can we just take a moment and laugh at the size of his pepper. I mean businessman probably was still smaller but he wasn't very big. He is cute though and suprise suprise he did actually text me on his way home (he lives in Suwon if I remember correctly). Anyway will see if I hear more from him or not. Nickname for the time being will be Zara since he works there.

But yeah it's almost 5pm and it's time to stuff my face I haven't eaten anything all day and my head hurts!

170421 friday in hongdae. fell in love with potato moyo, had some donburi for dinner and went to gogos2 to see triss, funcity, radio stadium, inplace and the poles. never been a fan of g2 but it was a good time.
