Drifter Revolver: Omega aftermath
After watching the door they came from burn down, Samantha helps Redrix sit on a bench. "I guess there won't be a way to go back." Redrix winces a bit and breaths slowly. "This omega timeline would be a safe place for you to stay in." He looks around to see where Core!Frisk was and couldn't find them. "I guess that child has better stuff to do." He looks at Samantha. "By the way, I didn't catch your name." Samantha finishes healing Redrix's wounds. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Samantha but you can call me Sam if you want." She smiles softly.
Redrix smiles back. "Nice to meet you, Samatha." He adjusts himself and cracks his neck “How was life in your home AU?” Samantha looks at the ground. "It was peaceful. Before that bastard came." Redrix pats Samantha's back. "I'm sorry for your loss." Samantha looks away and shifts her sitting position. "Thanks..." Redrix moves his hand away from her. "Say, you want to have a drink?" Samantha rubs her forearm. "No... I will take a walk to clear my mind. See you around and thanks for saving me." She gives him a sad smile as she stands and walks away.
Chara appears beside Redrix. "Giving her space?" Redrix sighs and nods. "She is still grieving. I don't blame her, she lost everyone she cared for." He reaches into his coat's inner pockets and takes a cigar. "She will need time to heal that wound." He smokes it after igniting its tip with his finger. Chara sighs. "Then you should find a bladesmith to fix or reforge your knife." Redrix gets off the bench and lets out a smoke puff. "Okay, I will look for one." He heads into the town in search of a blacksmith.
Chara floats in front of Redrix and looks at him. “Hmm?” Redrix lets another smoke puff and looks at Chara. “What is it?” Chara notices some dark circles under his eyes. “When was the last time you had proper sleep?” Redrix rubs his chin. “Don’t know. Maybe 10 days ago before, our encounter with my lookalike?” He raises a brow. “Why you ask?” Chara floats beside him. “No particular reason.” Grace appears and notices the townsfolk gazes. “Guys, I think we need a private place to talk.” Redrix looks at Grace and then the townsfolk. “We will find an inn after I fix my knife or buy a new one.” He covers his face with his bandana.
After searching for hours, Redrix finds the blacksmith's shop. “Finally, we found it.” He lowers his bandana before entering the shop. “Hello, is there anyone here?” The blacksmith comes out of their workspace. “Oh, a new customer. How may I help you, sugar?” Redrix sees the owner is a strong dark-skinned woman roughly the same height as Samantha. “I seek your help with fixing my knife, madam.” He shows his knife to her. The blacksmith examines the knife and its damage. “Sorry, hun. But your knife is unusable and I can't reforge it since I don't know the metals used for it." She puts it on one of the tables close to her. "I might have something that could fit you, cowboy." Redrix looks at the woman with a raised brow. "How so, madam?" The lady walks to the counter and looks for something among the blades she made. "A strong, reliable, and sharp knife." She pulls a knife a bit bigger than his knife. "This baby is strong and can cut anything with a well-placed strike." She carefully puts it on the counter.
Redrix walks to the lady and checks the knife. "Can it withstand extreme heat?" The lady smirks. "It's forged out of strong metals and enchanted with magic." Redrix unsheaths it and heats it with his fire as its edge turns red hot when his fire becomes blue. "Wow, this is an amazing knife, how much for it?" The lady waits for the knife to cool down before putting it back in its sheath. "230Gs." Redrix reaches into his coat and pulls a bag of Gs from it. "This is your payment, madam." The lady takes the bag and counts the Gs. "All good." Redrix puts the new knife with its sheath on his belt near his old knife’s sheath. "Alright, that's settled. Could you tell me where I could find an inn to stay in?" The lady puts the Gs away and looks at Redrix. "There is one, not far from here. Called the serpent’s rest." Redrix tips his hat. "Thank you, madam." He takes his old knife and heads out of the shop.
Somewhere in the middle of the town, Samantha sits on a bench after her long walk and loosens her jacket belt. “This place looks peaceful.” She looks at the variety of different species and sees kids playing around as a bitter smile forms on her face. "They would love it here." She sighs and checks if she has any money as she finds a few Gs. "This will be enough for either one day's room or my food for today." She looks around and sees an open shop nearby. "I guess I will need to find a way to earn money." She heads to the shop.
The shop owner hears the bell as Samantha enters the shop. "Welcome to my humble shop, miss. How can I help you?" Samantha eases up. "Thanks for the welcome, good sir. I was wondering if there is a hotel nearby." The shopkeeper rubs his chin. "There is a hotel called The Serpent's Rest. It's affordable for newcomers." He takes a paper and writes something. "Here are the directions to the place." Samantha takes the paper and smiles. "Thank you, sir." She leaves the shop and heads to the hotel.
After some time, Redrix and Samantha meet at The Serpent's Rest. Redrix opens the door for Samantha. "Ladies first." Samantha smiles. "What a gentleman." She giggles before entering. Redrix follows behind. "This place looks bigger on the inside." Samantha looks at the hotel's architecture. "It's unique, to say the least." Redrix notices the staff. "I guess I know why they call it The Serpent's Rest." He walks to the front desk and rings the receptionist.
A skeleton naga slithers to the front desk. "Hi, how I may help you today?" Samantha stands beside Redrix. "We would like to book two rooms please." The receptionist checks the record of available rooms. "Unfortunately, the single's section is fully booked, but the couple's section isn't." Redrix glances at Samantha and notices she is a bit uncomfortable. "Do the rooms in the couple's section have separate beds?" The receptionist checks the records again. "Yes, some rooms have separate beds." She shows the keys to the rooms.
Samantha looks at Redrix. "I guess we will be roommates." Redrix rubs neck. "I guess so." The receptionist smiles and hands a contract to the two. "This is a rental agreement for any of the rooms." She gives them two pens. "Please, write your names and your signatures along with which room you are staying in." Redrix takes one of the keys and signs the contract. Samantha signs it and hands it back to the front desk. "Here you go." The receptionist puts it in a file and presses a button. "One of the staff will take you to your room." Another naga slithers in and looks at Redrix and Samantha. "May I see the number?" Redrix does so. "Here." The worker smiles. "Please follow me." He slithers past Samantha and Redrix.
Redrix follows behind the worker. "That's interesting." Samantha follows them. "The place or the people?" Redrix checks his inventory. "All of it. It reminds me of home before it vanished. We... more or less achieved peace between humans and monsters." Samantha strolls beside Redrix. "Oh, what caused it to disappear?" Redrix shrugs. "I don't know. The last thing I remember, before I became like this, was heading to work." Samantha raises a brow. "What do you mean by that?" Redrix scratches his head. "I have no idea how but this lady living in an empty void, somewhat similar to this place, changed me from a skeleton monster to a human with altered monster magic." Samantha notices the scar on Redrix's eye. "That explains the scar." Redrix touches the scar. "I guess so." The worker stops in front of their room. "Here is your room, sir, ma'am. Clean towels are available in the restroom and the closet. Have a good day or night." He leaves the two.
Redrix enters the room after opening it. "Tell me about yourself." Samantha closes the door behind her. "Well, I was a teacher back home before my village was attacked by that bastard. And I'm a demon with angel ancestors." She sits on one of the beds and stretches. "And that's it." Redrix opens his menu and pulls one of his cloth bags from his inventory. "I see. By the way, do you want to shower first?" He looks at Samantha and sees her dumbfounded. "What?" Samantha shakes her head. "How did you do that?" Redrix tilts his head and shows her the menu. "You mean this?" Samantha nods. "Yes." Redrix sits the bag down. "It's a long story but the gist of it is I have 7 human souls somewhat fused with my soul which still is a monster's soul." He sits on the other and takes his hat off. "I don't know how I have a monster's soul in a human body but it feels weird. Either way, the soul that allows me to use the menu is Chara's soul from my universe. She is a helpful woman along with the others." He takes some clothes from the bag. "Anyway, since you didn't answer my first question, I will shower first." He hands her the bag. "Find you something to wear after the shower. Hopefully, there is something that would fit you." He heads to the restroom and showers.
After some time passes, Samantha and Redrix are in their beds. Samantha looks at glances at Redrix. "Thank you for letting me borrow these pajamas." Redrix gives her a thumbs up. "You can keep it as it does not fit me for an obvious reason." He looks at her and Samantha sees his eyes glowing in the dark. "You can have the room as well. Because I will be leaving after I heal up." Samantha sits up. "Why?" Redrix looks at the ceiling. "I'm always on the move. Either way, get some rest" He gives her his back before drifting to sleep. Samantha sighs and gets comfortable in her bed. "Good night, Redrix." She closes her eyes and sleeps.

My personal headcanons about Eddie’s dad that the book may end up contradicting but at this point idgaf
Warning: Mentions of child abuse, loss of a parent, homophobic language
Masterlist
Feat young Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Al Munson
-He’s Wayne’s younger brother. Both their parents passed when they were young adults, so Wayne always felt obligated to look out for him, which was a lot easier said than done because Eddie’s dad has always been pretty wild.
-I assume the Munsons aren’t originally from Indiana, since Wayne’s accent definitely isn’t Midwestern. In my mind, Eddie’s dad was a little bit of a drifter that rolled into Hawkins one day when he was like 24 or so and started seeing Eddie’s mom (who was like 18 and freshly out of high school at the time) with the intention of moving on in a few months and forgetting all about her.
-Instead she winds up pregnant, and he definitely isn’t interested in settling down and raising a family, but Wayne ultimately talks him into doing the right thing and marrying her.
-Eddie’s dad was never really cut out for family life. He hated being stuck in Hawkins, and has always resented Eddie because of it. When Eddie’s mom was alive, he was pretty absent, always going out drinking or committing petty crimes, hopping from job to job, probably seeing other women behind his wife’s back.
-Then his wife died and he was suddenly the sole parent responsible for a kid he never wanted in the first place. Those few years where Eddie was living with just his dad were pretty rough.
-A non exhaustive list of shit Eddie’s dad put him through at the time:
When Eddie’s mom first died, his dad would want to go out drinking, so he’d just put little grade school Eddie in his car and have him sleep there in the parking lot of whatever dive he was hanging out at. (Eventually he gave up on this and just started ditching Eddie at home)
He hated spending money on Eddie. They barely had any to begin with, and the priority with what they did have was always booze and cigarettes. There were nights that Eddie went to bed hungry because his dad didn’t bother buying any food for him. Most of Eddie’s clothes and shoes were old and ill fitting because he wouldn’t bother replacing them.
Even when he wasn’t out drinking, he was neglectful of Eddie. He rarely put in effort to make sure he was properly taken care of. Eddie would come to school covered in dirt because his dad never made him take a bath, his clothes often went long periods of time without washing etc. His peers would often pick on him because of it, and at the time he didn’t have D&D or anything to fall back on.
Eddie’s dad had a nasty temper, and no matter how much Eddie tried, he’d always end up doing something to anger the man. He’d scream at and berate Eddie, and sometimes get physical. He’d also take this opportunity to throw their situation into Eddie’s face. He’d say Eddie was a burden, how he was unwanted and how it was his fault his mom was dead.
I’m a big Eddie has ADHD truther, and I’d imagine this was a point of contention between him and his dad. ADHD wasn’t really known back then, so his dad would just chalk his symptoms up to him being “dumb”. Eddie would struggle with school work and his dad would tell him he was just stupid and that he shouldn’t bother because it’s not like he’d ever amount to anything.
He made Eddie keep his hair buzzed. If Eddie expressed interest in growing it out he’d say stuff like “long hair is for women and f*gs”
-At some point, when Eddie was middle school age, his dad finally got arrested for something that came with serious jail time. He wouldn’t be out until Eddie was at least 18, so their options were either for a relative to take him or he’d end up in the system. Of course Wayne didn’t hesitate to take the boy in, and the rest is history.
-Wayne has forgiven his brother for a lot of the shit he pulled, but one thing he can’t ever forgive is the way he treated Eddie. It took a little while of living with Wayne before Eddie came out of his shell, all thanks to the abuse his father put him through.
-Wayne does still communicate with his brother though, sometimes talks on the phone and even goes to visit every once in a while. Eddie on the other hand doesn't. He has no interest in a relationship with his father and Wayne isn’t going to force it on him.
-Eddie’s dad dropped out of high school at 16. Part of the reason Eddie’s so insistent on graduating is because he doesn’t want to be like him.
-But of course, even with all Eddie’s efforts, it’s still hard to escape the shadow of his father’s reputation. People have always assumed that Eddie is just a no good delinquent like his father. They were even more convinced when Eddie started getting into “immoral” activities like D&D and metal music (never mind the fact that Eddie’s dad didn’t like either of those things).
-Overall, Eddie’s dad is just super bitter and jealous of his son. He’d never admit it to anyone, not even himself, but deep down he hates that he threw his life away and now he’s rotting in prison; he wants to see Eddie end up the same way because the thought of his son being a better person than him upsets him.

Gallery: Vintage Drag Racing Through the Lens of Dave Kommel
Dave Kommel fell in love with drag racing in 1960 as a 10-year-old reading about Don Garlits in Hot Rod Magazine. He went to his first race in Union Grove, WI, in 1966 and started shooting trackside, mainly on the west coast, in 1972 through the ’70s until forming Auto Imagery in 1979 with Richard Shute. From 1980 through 2013, he traveled the country shooting NHRA, IHRA, IDBA, ProStar, various independent drag races and a little bit of NASCAR. Now retired, Dave still shoots races that catch his fancy and has begun scanning his extensive cache of slides and negatives from the 1970s.
Bob Glidden’s Pro Stock Pinto at the 1975 Winton Finals at Ontario Motor Speedway. Glidden went on to win the event and also the second of his ten Pro Stock championships.
Unknown Top Fuel team in the pits at Irwindale in 1971. This team was relatively high-dollar for the day as they had an enclosed trailer and a spare motor.
Jr. Berona at Lions in 1972. The central California-based team of Barnes and Berona ran a series of inline six gassers for a number of years.
Dave Beebe in Rich Guasco’s “Pure Hell” Funny Car at OCIR in 1972. Beebe drove numerous Fuel Altereds, Funny Cars and Top Fuel Dragsters in the 1960s and ‘70s.
Richard Herrera in the Herrera & Matsukane BB/A Opel GT at the 1973 Winternationals. The Herrera family ran a series of good-looking AA/GS and blown altereds.
Danny Ongais riding out a fire in the Rossi & Lisa car at Irwindale in 1973. A very young John Stewart is in the near lane.
Fred Goeske trying to put it on the bumper at Irwindale in 1975. Goeske ran Funny Cars and rocket Funny Cars from the mid-60’s through the early 80’s.
“TV Tommy” Ivo at the 1975 Winton Finals. Ivo was a child TV star in the 1950s and later became one of drag racing’s first full-time touring pros.
Tom Lemon in the Kazanjian and Lemon BB/FC at Salt Lake City in 1975. Kazanjian and Lemon always had good-looking cars and they are still competing today in Nostalgia Funny Car with Rian Konno at the wheel now.
Ray Motes in John Pusch’s Funny Car at the 1976 Winernationals. During a 30-year career, Motes drove everything from Top Fuel, Funny Car, Top Gas, Alcohol Dragster and Alcohol Funny Car.
Ed Renck in Terry Hudson’s “California Wolverine” at Fremont in 1976. Renck raced in Top Fuel and Pro Comp for many years and now drives a 200 mph roadster at Bonneville.
“Broadway Freddy” DeName at Beeline Dragway in 1977. DeName was probably drag racing’s closest connection to organized crime.
Richie Zul in the Reher & Morrison Monza at the 1977 Winternationals. Zul was a temporary replacement for Lee Shepherd after Shepherd crashed in 1976.
“Lil Joe” Nowocinski’s AA/DA at the 1977 March Meet. Long after most had abandoned the front-engine paradigm, Nowocinski and his small-block Chevy powered “Warsaw Express” continued to fight the battle in Pro Comp and Top Alcohol Dragster at least into the late ‘80s.
Ron Colson in Roland Leong’s “Hawaiian” at Irwindale in 1977. Leong was well known for the number of drivers he employed, but Colson lasted longer than most.
“Lil John” Lombardo at Irwindale in 1977. After a series of unusual paint jobs, this was probably the best looking car Lombardo ever had.
Gary Burgin’s “Orange Baron” at the 1977 Winton Finals.
Art Peterson’s “Indian Uprising” Super Stock GTO at the 1978 Winternationals. Art is still racing today and has been racing this same car for over 40 years.
Allan Patterson’s F/Modified Production Corvette at the 1978 Winternationals. Patterson went on to become one of the top sportsman engine builders and today, Patterson Engines are found in many Comp and Super Stock entries.
The “Vega Killer,” seen at Inyokern in 1978, redefines “short wheelbase.”
Chris Karamesines at the 1978 March Meet. Now 84 years young, Karamesines is still competing in Top Fuel on a limited schedule.
Bob Dell has half a car length on Doug Kerhulas at Fremont in 1978.
Les Shockley’s “Shockwave” jet dragster at Sacramento in 1978.
Harry Holton’s Super Stock Hemi ‘Cuda at Fremont in 1979. Holton was one of the top hemi engine builders for many years.
Bill Ranney’s “High Plains Drifter” AA/Fuel Altered at Tucson in 1979. After a few years campaigning the Fuel Altered, Ranney stepped out of the seat and ran a Funny Car with his son Mike driving.

*glances at GS Drifter who's only change at ALL from canon is just the shift to the dax sleeves*
Sometimes what works just works
Seeing all these wonderful fashionable Drifters is really funny. Cause they got this amazing drip, they got the colors on point. Then mine hasn't changed his attire since Duviri.

All of stalkers thought bubbles read "lucky to have you"
Ordis goes, "Getting blood all Over my codex table, he has a ROOM you know," Then, "If you weren't here to help..." then, "This is acceptable" as he's snuggled by a dozing drifter.
At the bottom, Hunhow says, "Shadow, what the hell took you so long?" And stalker responds, "Our drifter is an idiot."
Next panel, Hunhow goes, "So... its our drifter, now?" And stalker goes "DONT."
