How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

Oh goodness since 2016 now.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

Immediately - knife to throat and I was hooked. Pun not intended. 

What drew you to this event?

Everyone involved! It’s one of my favorite events and I love that it’s still so popular years after the show has ended. Everyone is always so creative, it’s brilliant to watch.

I’ve beta’d for a lot of incredible souls over the years. I’m excited to start making my way back into a move active participant in the fandom. It’s a joy and honor to watch someone’s small seedling of an idea sprout into something beautiful. 

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Being involved again! I love this fandom, I love the folks in it! I can’t wait to see all of the incredible things folks create!!!

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom? 

 I've been on the outskirts for years, but just started involving myself over the fall/winter! 

When did you start shipping CaptainSwan? 

 During the Neverland arc, post-kiss 

What drew you to this event? 

 First, I love any excuse to write more CS!!! But also the creator of the event, Krystal, reached out and encouraged me to join, which made me feel all types of special and wonderful! 

What inspired your topic? 

 A combination of things: 1. A song called "I Can't Wait Til You Get Dead" by That Lying Bitch, 2. A music video idea for the same song that one of the members of the band told me about, 3. A conversation in the CSLB Discord regarding a different prompt.

At the very sight of Neal Gold, Killian’s blood ran cold. Or it would have, if there was any blood in his system. But there wasn’t. And Killian was suddenly very aware of that fact, because a flash of a memory had just returned to him, and he was staring right at the person who’d murdered him. He didn’t remember much. But the distinct image of the man before him, an evil glint in his eye, was replaying itself in Killian's mind. His stomach burned, and he lifted his shirt to find a large, gaping wound through his abdomen.

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom?

I only recently watched the whole show through for the first time this past year but I did watch the first season when it first came out. Just took me awhile to catch up! 

When did you start shipping Captain Swan?

I remember when they first kissed and thinking I might like these two but didn’t really watch them enough to know anymore. I just kept an eye on them via Tumblr over the years before I fully dived into the Captain Swan rabbit hole.

What drew you to this event?

I’ve been reading fanfiction for years and I thought for once I would actively participate in some way rather than just being on the sidelines again.

I’ve been a beta years ago in another fandom but this is my first time for Captain Swan. 

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Reading and seeing all the great fanfiction and fanart that everyone will be creating.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan? 

From the beginning. True Love blade to the throat, baby!!!

What drew you to this event? 

Do I really need to answer this? 😆 Ok... it’s my baby!!! Fall of ‘17, in a conversation with @snowbellewells, bemoaning the SEVERE lack of werewolf Killian fics, the idea for a supernatural event was spawned. After gauging interest, the inaugural year for the Captain Swan Supernatural Summer was born!!! I ran the event for three years but was very glad to hand over the reins to @stahlop and @thejollyroger-writer and just participate this year!

What inspired your topic? 

My love for CS as vampires!!!

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event? 

NOT being at the helm. And OF COURSE ALLLLLLLLLLL the supernatural fics and art!!! 

So if you haven’t figured it out, Krystal is the creator of this event and we are so excited to see her artwork this year. She’s doing artwork for @stahlop, @everything-person​, @teamhook​, and then closing out the event on August 31st with her own original piece.

What drew you to this event? 

I joined last year and felt the urge to partake again this year. 

What inspired your topic?

It's based a little bit off my favourite books series and partly off random tumblr post lol.

Things Emma wished she'd remembered before she signed the lease to her new place: 

 Rule 1- always read the terms & conditions. 

Rule 2 - if something's too good to be true, it usually is. 

Now she's on a journey discovering things she never knew existed... as well as getting to know her new roommates. 

A comedy adventure with hopefully a bit of romance. Good v Evil, salty v sweet, crunchy v smooth- a whole new world is about to be uncovered under the swanky roof of a New York penthouse.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

Pushing myself to write something with more than 2k words... and to finish it lol.

What drew you to this event? I've been a part of this event for the past several years, and I love participating every year!

What inspired your topic? this year it's more like a "Must finish all my cssns ideaaaaaaaaas" vibe

What drew you to this event?

I was watching ADOW season 2 and it just clicked that it would be the perfect CS crossover. Protective!Matthew reminded me of protective!Killian - a trope I absolutely adore in fic - and I knew I had to write it.

All I've done so far for the fic is the plot/outline, but it's basically going to be how Emma (a witch) and Killian (a vampire) meet and fall in love despite the Covenant, and their battle to defend that love with the entire world of creatures against them.

I've beta'd for @hollyethecurious for A Scandal at Swansdown with Cathy ( @ultraluckycatnd​ ), which was super lovely. Right now I think I'm the only beta for Untie My Silhouette by @myfearless-love​ as well. My specialty is beta'ing for non-native English speakers since I'm an ESL English teacher, but I've done beta work for about 6 or 7 different people, whether it was entire stories or just a chapter or two or even just concept checking outlines.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event?

I'm super excited to have people involved in my story and to be really involved in someone's story for an event! I think that'll be fun for me since I've always been so secretive about Perilous Harbor in the past.

Isn't that the fairy way? "It would be if I was a fairy." She morphed into a breathtakingly beautiful woman. The kind that left men speechless, including him. "Captain, I have an offer for you. I could help you get your heart's true desire, but in order to do that, I need to bestow a gift to you." She had called it a gift, but to him it was a curse. Aphrodite had been the name she had used once she introduced herself. One warning is all she gave him: never allow an arrow to hit him, or he will be doomed to unrequited love.

I just love chatting and getting to know everyone.

I was a lurker when the show was on. I didn't talk to anyone, just reposted all the lovely pics. I really started in 2020 talking to other people in the fandom.

Since Season 2 Episode 5 in 2012

What drew you to this event? 

Krystal :)

What inspired your topic? 

Just trying to challenge myself and make art that is different than what I'm used to doing and honestly its fun to picture Captain swan in anything.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan? In 2015 when I started watching the show, but instantly as soon as Emma held a knife to Killian's throat I was a goner!

What drew you to this event? I've done it since the start and I love this so much! I love beta-ing and seeing how creative everyone can get. It's amazing how years after the show ended we're still doing events!

Letting someone into your process is incredible so someone trusting in me to help them means a lot. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to do it again with this event.

How long have you been in the CS/OUAT fandom? I officially joined the Tumblr fandom during season 5 but I was a fan of OUAT and CS long before I joined the online ranks.

When did you start shipping Captain Swan? From the moment they started climbing that stupid beanstalk, it was obvious that there was so much chemistry, and that whole hand bandaging scene just sealed the deal for me.

What drew you to this event? I've participated as a writer for the past three years but since I couldn't come up with an idea I was happy with, I'm offering up my assistance as a beta this time around.

For our betas: Who/what have you beta'd before, or is this your first time? Feel free to give as much info as you like. I've beta'd for several authors before, not only for CSSNS, but for other CS events like the CS Big/Little Bang and the CSMM. I tailor my beta input to what each author prefers. Some like input and suggestions while some only request help with spelling and grammar so I work with each at their comfort level.

What are you looking forward to most about participating in this event? I love seeing new takes on the supernatural theme and meeting new fandom friends!
