Sunset Dream at the Blue Lagoon

In the Blue Lagoon, beneath twilight hues, the turquoise waters glow with a tranquil sheen. The sky dons shades of gold and rose, in a gentle dance where light bursts and flows.

Lava ground mingled with light mist, in a dream where calm is a luminous twist. The steam rises like an ethereal veil, painting a scene of sacred beauty unveiled.

Au Blue Lagoon, sous les couleurs du crépuscule, les eaux turquoise vibrent d’un éclat paisible. Le ciel se pare de teintes d’or et de rose, dans une danse douce où la lumière explose.

Sol de lave mêlé à la brume légère, dans un rêve où le calme est une lumière. La vapeur s’élève comme un voile éthéré, dessine une scène d’une beauté sacrée.

Took a 1.5 hour drive from Nis to Devil’s Town to see these amazing rock formations that were created partly from erosion and the thermal mineral water running through it. One myth is that the people of the town were too kind, so the devil wanted to mess with them, so when they drank the heavily mineralized water they became crazy, much to the devil’s delight! Then a brother and sister were going to get married and the fairy that was looking over them tried to stop the wedding, but couldn’t by herself, so she asked the Gods to help her! The second picture shows the people at a stopped wedding, in stone! I loved this myth and could see it in this natural phenomenon. The white ribbons on the tree by the church are people’s wishes for health. In seven days they will bury the tree and we will experience wellness where we rubbed the white ribbon before tying it on. Pretty neat last day in Serbia if you ask me! Sorry, no selfies, forgot to ask my ladies to forward them on! Treating myself to a warm soak in a natural geothermal pool to relax my body. It’s one of the ways I treat myself on this expedition. I like to find the off the beaten path public ones where locals go instead of paying for the touristy spa. Sometimes I opt for that if it’s affordable and my body needs it, but I’d rather ride 6 hours in the cold to go to a public one. True story. Transforming into a swimsuit is so funny to me. I literally shed 10lbs of gear: helmet, gloves, jacket, pants and boots. It feels like what a turtle would feel like if you took of its protective layer of a shell. Lol.
