Here's the next redesign and I wanna say I really like how he turned out. This was also the first time I drew so many scales, which was annoying to do, but it turned out good. The icon could have been better, but its something im not used to doing.

Anguirus:

A fanged wyvern that recently has rolled its way around the windward plains. Its mysterious appearance since Gojira's first landing in the Scarlet Forest. It seems curious of the recent encounter between the hunters investigating it.

Background:

Information regarding the Anguirus has been scarce along with the recent monsters as well. However, the first introduction when investigating it since recent sightings from the Windward Plain was not as expected. Coming from below the sands and slamming itself on a wild Balahara that was chasing a Kunfala villager.

Which after it looked at the hunter and their handler with curiosity it showed signs of playfulness? While it was knocking the hunter around, which would be mistaken for aggression, it then showed no interest after. Leaving the handler and hunter alone, which left both puzzled and even the villager, leading to the information we have of it now.

Behavior/Ecology:

They’re behaviour is neutral however they are playful sometimes, which again is misled as aggression from both people and monsters. Despite this they are no threat to the ecosystem they live in, which is the Windward Plains. They are omnivorous which they graze alongside Ceratonoth and occasionally foraging bugs. They are more active during the season of plenty in the windward plains.

Weirdly when they sleep, they roll themselves and have the spikes on their backs anchor them, to sleep. When the sandtide comes, they fully cover themselves into a ball to prevent sand or anything hitting them. They are somewhat more cautious during the sandtide, and may act out to defend themselves.

Angurius does become cautious when Rey Dau is around but is aggressive when Doshaguma and their pack are around. He is very defensive when Arkveld is around and will avoid it if Anguirus can. Despite this, Anguirus can hold its own against monsters, even more dangerous ones.

Biology/Abilities:

Their anatomy is very interesting, armor plating across their body with large spikes alongside them. Having sharp head ornaments with teeth to grind plants and molars to help grind bugs. At the end of their tail, a large spiked club tail is used for combat or defense, similar to Duramboros. 

Their most unique ability, that was stated in their behavior, is being able to roll into a ball. Having their plates cover their bodies, tucking in their arms, head and legs, they become rolling wrecking balls. They use this ability for defense, combat, and traversal, which is effective through the hard sand.

One last ability which is one their most unusual, they are capable of roaring loud enough to use it as a weapon. Shouting at other monsters or hunters to disorient them or knock them back.

Strengths/Weaknesses:

When fighting an Anguirus, their biggest strengths are their armor, and their tail. Their armor allows them to take damage, and their tails to heavily injure hunters, possibly stunning them. However their underside or back and head are the best areas to attack.

Knocking it over on its side leaves it vulnerable for heavy damage from hunters. Breaking their head and arms reduces their armor's defense. Severing their clubbed tail will severely weaken their tail swipes and slams.

Their roll ability is quite dangerous, as they are fast when rolling and deliver heavy damage if you do not dodge it charging. It can possibly leave you stunned, which most hunters often succumb to if they’re not careful. However breaking their back spikes will weaken its roll, and heavy weapon wielders can even possibly knock it out of its roll.

Fire, water, and ice do not affect, however blast, thunder, are the best to use against it. Poison and paralysis do little but can work, with ice being the least effective element to use on it. Sometimes if strong enough the blast blight can knock it over if possible from combat.

Other Info:

Weirdly Angurius shares a relationship with Gojira, they have been seen playing with each other, when they both meet. Oftentimes Anguirus is seen following Gojira, as they both roam together in the Windward Plains. Seems both monsters are content with one another, making them friends.

Tempered variants of Anguirus are less friendly but remain the same in their behavior. The only difference, they are more than willing to fight against Arkveld and Rey Dau. Heavily aggressive towards the Doshguma and even more to an Alpha.

The only monster that Anguirus will hunt is a large insectoid species that has been named Kamacuras. It will contest with other Anguirus sometimes over territory if the monster is present. Sometimes even hunting alongside Chatacabra if it decides to.
