Swedish Royal Family - The Royal Court has announced that Princess Birgitta, King Carl XVI Gustaf sister, has passed away in Mallorca on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at the age of 87.

Princess Birgitta was the widow of Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern (1932–2016) and then lived abroad for a long time. The princess leaves three children with families.

On the occasion of the passing of H.K.H. Princess Birgitta, H.M. The King makes the following statement:

"With great sadness today I have received the news that my sister, Princess Birgitta, has died. My sister was a colorful and straightforward person who will be deeply missed by me and my family. Together with my entire family today I send my condolences to Princess Birgitta's children and grandchildren. ”

How often do kristallen awards go to the same series? Like what is their previous record? I feel like if they win this year it probably won't do well next year or something

And what are their chances of winning based on their competition this year?

I don’t really know the history here and if the awards are distributed but the jury should not be biased by that. And new jury members each year.

For young adult I think Thunder in my heart will win. It is praised and very well written and executed. Alexander Abdallah is also nominated for best male actor for that show and Gustaf Hammarsten for best supporting actor. For viewers choice I think Spökjakt will win. They won last year and viewers seem to love it. I have never watched it so I can’t tell. It’s also their last year doing it. Joakim and Jonna are loved and have highly engaged viewers. Or Benjamin’s could also win since it TV4 so all Swedes can watch it and it’s a Wahlgren/Ingrosso and they are also highly appreciated. YR stand a chance as well but I don’t think they will win this year.

Voting for viewers choice is made during the Kristallen is airing a by sms or calling in. That highly limits the possibility for international viewers to vote. If they could vote at all, if I remember correctly it was only possible to vote in Sweden.

It would have been nice to see individual acting nominations but also tough competition. Hopefully next year.
