my desc is a lie now I’m so sorry 😭

I was kinda leaning for it to be a multi fandom blog from the beginning, but ever since that one post exploded I felt like I’d be disappointing a lot of the people who followed just for UTMV content so I decided to try and stick to just that

lowkey doing that was a mistake though cause my brain, for the love of its life, CANNOT stay still in one fandom for too long or else it’d explode,,

I’ve been stressing and was considering making multiple blogs for all the fandoms I draw fanart for, but trying to manage over 10+ blogs sounds like.…hell..

I talked to a few friends and they managed to convince my shyass to convert this blog into a multi fandom one so aggshzhz,,,

im rly sorry to anyone who followed just for utmv!! :( I'll probably make a master post or an introduction soon to properly introduce myself! Thank you immensely to everyone who has enjoyed my art so far, I wasn't expecting the amount of attention and despite how shy and hesitate I am to post, it's made me really happy :D ♡

It's amazing how many times I've had this exact experience on tumblr:

I browse a tag and spot someone posting something along the lines of, "I can't BELIEVE how many people unfollowed me after I posted about [extremely worthy cause]! It just goes so show how many [oppressors of various kinds] there are on this site! Unfollow me if you [whatever]!"

And then I'll view the replies and see that a bunch of other accounts have responded, "Wow, so true, we're better off without them!"

Out of curiosity, I will go and find the post(s) in question. And, yes, you guessed it, it's almost always a post about how random tumblr followers need to personally take responsibility for the pain of everyone suffering under [XYZ global evil]. The post also usually says that the way followers should do this is to reblog and expose all their followers to OP's rabid howling. You see, reblogging an """activist""" post whose only call to action is to experience self flagellation and abject misery is the ONLY way forward. If followers don't do that, they're Bad People. OP can SEE them interacting with their popular fandom takes, but not the posts about [worthy cause], and they are DISGUSTED. Etc., etc., so on.

Every time, it is clear that it's not the CAUSE about which they're posting that made however many people unfollow them. It's that the OP has made the choice to start posting vacuous misery-mongering shit and people don't want to watch. ┐⁠(⁠ ⁠˘⁠_⁠˘⁠)⁠┌

No matter how many times I see this play out, it takes me by surprise every time.

and horus's main appearance was in hawkman 2002 where he tells carter that he has ties to him because carter's starting point was in Egypt.

and again. thanagar has had its own lore and language since the 60s. jsa 1999 created a connection between thanagar & egypt that wasn’t weird and orientalist. even hawkman 2018 expanded on that to fit the ktar retcon without being weird.

western writers stop bring weird about egypt challenge: failed. and i've actually been to egypt & was taught the history of it by egyptians so I can proudly hate on this even more.

I had a phone call this morning from a woman who identified herself as working for the power company. She said they had an offer for a certain number of led lightbulbs to be 'installed' free of charge, could someone come by Monday. (There was a little bit of noise behind her, btw)

My (private) response was, "hmmm, really?" I told her that I already HAD led bulbs throughout my house, but that they could give me some if they wanted - just nobody is going to be entering my house. There was a brief silence on her end, during which I could hear the faint background noise . . then she introduced herself to me (again) and started on her spiel (again). She seemed to have no idea that we had gotten halfway through this conversation once. Upshot - no, they won't give me lightbulbs unless they can enter the house and install them, and I told her no thanks.

I HATE treating everyone with a certain accent like they're a scammer. However.

i tend not to take museum photos of things unless i think i can take a good one, and this was in a glass case so it had a lot of glare, but the sargent exhibit at the met has the only know photograph of madame x before he repainted the shoulder strap and seeing that for the first time in my life made me feel like my body was made of static
