I refuse to accept THW, and while I owe no one an explanation [the EcOsYsTeMs] in this essay I will ---

You know what hurts most about this scene?

I noticed while rewatching some httyd 3 clips, that at this point Hiccup didn’t have his leg, obviously because he had to lose it to get rid of Grimmel.

But it’s so much more than that.

As Hiccup draws away from Toothless after saying goodbye, he hobbles and Astrid helps him stand.

He literally can’t stand alone at this moment.

A major part of him is missing in this scene, and a major part of his life is now leaving. The leg itself symbolises their bond, and now it’s gone.

He has to lean on Astrid physically and figuratively, because his best friend is now gone. He can’t rely on Toothless, can’t lean on him.

It almost mirrors the scene in the first movie where Toothless helps him stand with his new leg, instead now he is going, giving the responsibility of helping Hiccup up to Astrid.

Anyway I’m gonna go sob and deny this movie exists-

After a hard long day, even as the Trollhunter, sometime’s you need that little bit of escapism to feel that touch brighter.

Fun fact! just as Gun Robot is Toby’s favourite film, Jim’s is his worlds Httyd. Evidence from the picture of toothless on the home page of his laptop at the end of episode one!

So I head-cannon he listens to the music when he has had a particularly harsh day, and needs to take his mind elsewhere.

This is cannon in my mind.

i dont understand why the live action httyd isnt being treated the same as the disney live action remakes? just because its dreanwoks and its something you feel nostalgic over instead of millennials doesnt make it any less of a soulless cash grab, stop watching it on theatres oh my god youre all part of the problem
