Hexagear Weird Tails Night Stalkers Ver. (Kotobukiya)

Weird Tails remains my favorite Hexagear build, and I think it looks amazing in a darker color scheme! This kit comes with 2 options for the accent color, but I went with the red instead of the metallic grey to match its sibling. Same mold as the standard Weird tails, so another fun and smooth build!

Gunpla is freedom.

The great thing about the 30MM/MS lines are that they work exclusively with either C-Clips or 3mm pegs/holes so kitbashing is incredibly easy. Also a lot of the kits come with extra connectors.

Some of the Build Fighters extra parts sets (like the Arm Arms) are also really nice to have for arms, connectors and the like. Bandai is really trying to help close the skill gap for custom builds with their kits

Also worth noting Kotobukiya’s Frame Arms/HexaGear/Zoids/Frame Arms Girl/Megami Device/Arcanadea lines all follow similar 3mm peg building so it’s easy to even pull parts from them

i'm not fully done with it but i'm mostly just in the clean-up phases now

the woundwort is the hottest frame and i have stuck FARRRRR too many guns on this poor space rabbit

if i can get my grubby paws on a fourth and slap it on this poor thing i'd do it

Finially finished this kit! Really fun to build and it's so posable!!

I like the hexagears concept and that theyre entirely modular, the designers even encourage building your own unique mecha with it. Def gonna try and get some more of them!

As a zoids plamo fan discovering Hexagear was the worst financial mistake of my life. Very hype for Lord of Zoatex, very cute.

additional hexagear rambling

I really love the animal hexagear designs. Scratches the itch of new feeling designs that zoids wild has just been disappointing me on. They also remind me a lot of mgs designs? I like that the heads don’t always hard resemble an animal. They’re like.. extra robotty. The more standard mechs and vehicles are also very neat, but not my jam. Should pick up a governor at some point just to check them out...

Kit-wise I’mmm idk they’re okay builds. They feel a lil more delicate than the hmms and gunpla that I usually build. I’m a sucker for the interchangeability in parts. I’m that guy who unironically loved the blox zoids line. Unfortunately they don’t feel like that can take the beating that blox kits could, so on my shelf they will remain for now.
