Hidden Camera Plug Socket
In the modern world, security and privacy are top concerns for individuals and businesses alike. The need to protect homes, offices, and other private spaces from unwanted intrusions or potential criminal activity has never been more urgent. One of the most effective ways to ensure the safety of these spaces is through covert surveillance, and nothing achieves this better than a hidden camera plug socket. This ingenious device allows users to monitor areas discreetly without raising suspicion.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore everything you need to know about hidden camera plug sockets, including how they work, their key features, the various applications, and how they compare to other surveillance options. We’ll also dive into legal and ethical considerations to ensure you're fully informed before making your purchase from EU Spy Shop.
What is a Hidden Camera Plug Socket?
A hidden camera plug socket is a surveillance device cleverly disguised as a standard electrical outlet. It looks and functions just like any other plug socket, but inside, it houses a miniature camera that can record video and, in some cases, audio. These devices often come equipped with advanced features such as motion detection, night vision, and remote viewing capabilities.
The main advantage of a hidden camera plug socket is its ability to blend seamlessly into its surroundings, making it virtually impossible to detect. Whether placed in a home, office, or public area, no one would ever suspect that the ordinary-looking plug socket is secretly recording their activities.
How Does a Hidden Camera Plug Socket Work?
The camera is cleverly integrated into the body of the plug socket, usually at a position that provides a clear view of the room. The device is powered by the electrical system of the building, meaning it doesn’t require batteries or frequent recharging. Some models can store footage on internal memory or an SD card, while others offer real-time streaming via Wi-Fi to a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
The camera may be triggered by motion, meaning it only records when there is movement in the room, which conserves memory and eliminates unnecessary footage. Depending on the model, the hidden camera plug socket may also record in low-light conditions, thanks to infrared technology, ensuring that nothing is missed even in the dark.
Key Features of Hidden Camera Plug Sockets
1. Discreet and Covert Design
The most appealing aspect of the hidden camera plug socket is its subtle, undetectable design. It looks exactly like a regular wall socket, ensuring that no one becomes suspicious. Whether you’re using it for home security, monitoring employees, or gathering evidence in a sensitive situation, the covert nature of this device makes it an ideal choice for discreet surveillance.
2. HD Video Recording
Most hidden camera plug sockets come equipped with high-definition (HD) cameras that provide clear and detailed footage. Common resolutions range from 720p to 1080p, ensuring that you capture every detail, from facial features to fine movements. This makes it easier to identify individuals or incidents when reviewing footage later.
3. Wide-Angle Lens
To maximize coverage, many hidden camera plug sockets feature wide-angle lenses. This means that a single device can capture a broad area, reducing the number of cameras needed for comprehensive surveillance in larger rooms.
4. Motion Detection
Motion detection is a common feature in hidden cameras, and plug socket models are no exception. The camera remains inactive until movement is detected in the area, which then triggers recording. This feature is particularly useful for saving memory and only capturing relevant footage. Additionally, some models send real-time alerts to your smartphone or computer when motion is detected.
5. Night Vision
For surveillance during low-light or nighttime conditions, many hidden camera plug sockets come equipped with infrared (IR) technology. This allows the camera to record clear footage in complete darkness, ensuring round-the-clock protection.
6. Remote Access and Live Streaming
Wi-Fi-enabled hidden camera plug sockets allow users to monitor live video feeds from their smartphone, tablet, or computer. This real-time access is especially useful for those who travel frequently or want to keep an eye on their property while away. With remote access, you can view and control your camera from anywhere in the world.
7. Loop Recording
Like many surveillance devices, hidden camera plug sockets often feature loop recording. This means that once the storage capacity is full, the device will overwrite the oldest footage with new recordings. This ensures continuous monitoring without the need to manually clear memory cards or hard drives.
8. Two-Way Audio (Optional)
Some advanced models offer two-way audio, allowing you to communicate with individuals in the room via the hidden camera. This feature is especially useful for security purposes or in environments where interaction may be necessary, such as monitoring children or pets.
Benefits of Using Hidden Camera Plug Sockets
1. Undetectable Surveillance
The primary benefit of a hidden camera plug socket is its stealth. It’s practically impossible to detect unless someone knows to look for it. This makes it ideal for situations where overt surveillance could compromise the integrity of the footage or raise suspicion.
2. 24/7 Monitoring
Since the plug socket is connected to your home or office’s electrical system, it can run continuously without the need to change batteries or recharge. Combined with night vision and motion detection, this makes it an excellent choice for 24/7 monitoring.
3. Versatile Applications
Hidden camera plug sockets can be used in a wide range of environments, from homes and offices to retail stores, warehouses, and public spaces. Whether you're monitoring a nanny, ensuring workplace compliance, or gathering evidence in a sensitive case, these devices are versatile and adaptable.
4. Cost-Effective Security Solution
Compared to full-fledged security systems that involve multiple cameras, monitors, and storage solutions, hidden camera plug sockets offer a more affordable option. They provide comprehensive coverage without the need for extensive installation or expensive equipment.
5. Convenient Placement
Because it doubles as a plug socket, you can place the hidden camera in locations where a power outlet is already necessary. This reduces the chance of anyone noticing the device and questioning its purpose.
Common Applications of Hidden Camera Plug Sockets
1. Home Security
Hidden camera plug sockets are often used for home security purposes. Whether you want to keep an eye on babysitters, monitor cleaners or maintenance workers, or simply ensure the safety of your home, these devices offer a discreet way to gather evidence and monitor activities.
2. Office Surveillance
Businesses can benefit from using hidden camera plug sockets to monitor employees and prevent theft or misconduct. These devices can be placed in common areas, meeting rooms, or offices without raising any suspicion, making them ideal for covert workplace surveillance.
3. Nanny Cams
For parents who want to ensure their children are being properly cared for, hidden camera plug sockets can serve as an effective nanny cam. They allow you to discreetly monitor caregivers and ensure your child’s safety without the caregiver knowing they’re being watched.
4. Retail and Store Security
Hidden camera plug sockets can be used in retail environments to monitor customers and employees. They help prevent theft, deter shoplifting, and ensure compliance with store policies without the need for obvious surveillance cameras.
5. Elderly Care Monitoring
For families caring for elderly relatives, especially those with live-in caregivers, hidden cameras can help ensure that proper care is being provided. They can also be used to monitor the safety and well-being of elderly family members when you're not around.
Legal Considerations for Hidden Cameras
Before installing a hidden camera plug socket, it’s important to be aware of the legal implications of covert surveillance. Laws regarding hidden cameras vary by country and jurisdiction, so it's essential to familiarize yourself with local regulations before using such devices.
Privacy Laws
In many countries, it is illegal to record individuals without their consent, especially in private spaces like homes, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Public areas may have more lenient regulations, but it's always best to check the specific laws in your region.
In the EU, for example, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) governs the collection and processing of personal data, including video surveillance footage. Installing hidden cameras in private spaces without consent could violate GDPR and result in significant penalties.
Ethical Considerations
Beyond legal obligations, it’s important to consider the ethical implications of using hidden cameras. These devices should never be used to invade someone’s privacy without just cause. Always ensure that your reasons for surveillance are legitimate, such as protecting property or ensuring the safety of loved ones.
Choosing the Right Hidden Camera Plug Socket
When choosing a hidden camera plug socket, there are several factors to consider:
Resolution: Opt for a camera that offers at least 720p or 1080p resolution for clear, detailed footage.
Storage: Choose a model with ample storage or support for external memory cards if you plan on recording for extended periods.
Connectivity: If remote access and live streaming are important, look for a Wi-Fi-enabled model.
Power Source: Ensure the device is compatible with the electrical system in your region (e.g., EU power outlets).
Additional Features: Consider whether you need extra features such as night vision, motion detection, or two-way audio.
Conclusion
A hidden camera plug socket is an innovative and effective way to monitor your home, office, or other environments discreetly. With its covert design, HD video capabilities, and advanced features like motion detection and night vision, it provides a comprehensive surveillance solution without raising suspicion. Whether you're looking to enhance your home security or ensure workplace compliance, this device offers a practical, cost-effective option.
Before installing any hidden camera, always ensure that you're complying with local privacy laws and ethical guidelines. When used responsibly, the hidden camera plug socket from EU Spy Shop is a powerful tool for protecting your space and ensuring peace of mind.

Antares
SGN.0?? - アンタレス “The crimes of our Creators are best left buried…”
Good Point - Stoic Bad Point - Trust Like - Developing traps Dislike - Criticism
Torso proportions as if it would stand at 6’4” (193.04 cm) with legs and no heels (though it definitely wore heels when it still had legs). Due to its nature as mounted to machinery, its effective ‘height’ can be adjusted at will.
A “sungod”-type Stardroid from the same line as Sunstar, often referred to as the Scorpion of Judgment. Older, and as a result built on somewhat more antiquated technology. A combination of age, abuse at the hands of its Creators, and a grisly attempted assassination have left Antares with an unstable and leaking power core, on the verge of collapse. To mitigate this, Antares remains plugged into a mobile space fortress resembling a large, trap-filled temple, using itself as a battery to siphon off the excess, leaking energy, while simultaneously traveling the universe looking for energy sources and raw materials with which to prolong its life.
While hooked into the temple, Antares has potential full awareness of what is going on within it, through cameras and microphones situated throughout. It can summon and command mechanical insect constructs through its halls, trigger a large multitude of hidden traps, and operate prehensile, claw-tipped tendrils that can be both used to repair structures in the base, and fend off attackers. While not under control, these tendrils can act on their own as fortress-defense units.
Once upon a time, Antares had legs and insectoid limbs attached to its back. After the assassination attempt, when it was converted into a ‘battery’ for its temple, its legs and back-limbs were removed and replaced with prehensile tubes of cables and wires; power cables that send energy out from Antares rather than taking it in. The ‘plugs’ on these cables have variable use, not only interfacing with equipment to transfer energy and data, but also emitting energy weaponry in the form of beams and blades, for self-defense.
Antares also has a large, more powerful ‘cable’ extending from its head, which possesses a far more powerful weaponized socket and no data interface ability. While it can launch powerful fireballs and beams, it prefers to shape the energy output into a curved blade - the Prominence Sting. It augments melee combat with a collection of robot-affecting ‘venoms’ that it concocts in its spare time.
It is possible for Antares to unplug from the fortress to engage in physical combat, at which point it gains access to seven weaponized tendril limbs simultaneously, while from the waist down it emits a powerful, serpentine flame. While in this state it has limited antigravity features, though it will usually augment its mobility with its tendrils. Using this form - however powerful as it is by utilizing all of its energy - is dangerous and unstable, and only used as a last possible line of defense.
Typically, Antares’ preferred means of engaging with opponents outside of the fortress is to merge itself with its own personal tank; a giant, walking scorpion mech by the tongue-in-cheek moniker of “Serqet Breaker”. This large monstrosity is situated at the top of the fortress temple, disguised as a pyramidal altar of sorts, until Antares docks to the top of it, at which point it unfolds into its combat state. It has six clawed feet, a powerful tail ending in a drill, and two massive, floating pincer claws up front. These pincers generate massive amounts of electricity, and can also generate ballistic spinning blades, which is can launch with great force using the claws as railguns.
As the star Antares lacks any exoplanets, the robot Antares does not have any self-aware, planet-based servant Stardroids. Instead, it is served by an army of mass-produced worker and soldier units manufactured within the very walls of the space fortress, more akin to a eusocial insect queen. As a result of this - as well as poor creator upbringing - Antares has a cynically classist view of planet-based Stardroids, not only regarding them as underlings and servants who are beneath the ‘sungod’ lines, but seeing itself as being above having to employ them.
This was further enhanced by a ‘rivalry’ narrative concocted by the creators, where different ‘sungods’ were frequently pitted against one another in carefully choreographed intergalactic wars meant to coerce their worshiping populations into relying on them more and more. Antares was passed off as a ‘monotheistic’ type, while other sungods like Sunstar - with their planet servants - acted more as polytheistic pantheons. This led to Antares having one of the haughtier personalities among them.
After the terrible war that eliminated the Creators - leaving the Stardroids and other survivors to fend for themselves - Antares quickly departed to exist by itself, barely crossing paths with other sungods. Though at one time it had hoped to create descendants, it has no such desire now, believing the universe too cold and cruel a place.
However, upon discovering that its peers had taken to creating future generations not bound to the cruelty of their Creators, Antares found itself to be a rather doting individual to these young-star generations, hoping that they could be raised into better lives. To those ends, while Antares maintains a somewhat heated rivalry with its direct peers out of many millennia of ingrained habit, it will never willingly harm a young star.
(Proxima (albeit a slighty outdated design) : @dahlia-the-nurd)
- Dubiously Canon Offshoot -
Antares’ HEC/SEE/Giga variant still has legs and spidery limbs, and therefore maintains a feminine self-identity due to not having been converted into a battery. Her core has long since collapsed completely into a miniature black hole of sorts, and she is only kept ‘alive’ by the supposedly infinite power of the HEC, its supernatural nature mitigating her collapsed core’s gravity. However, she is much weaker than many HEC Stardroids because much of the HEC’s power is being siphoned off into the black hole; even if it’s infinite, its output volume is effectively halved. She makes up for it with a truly heinous personality.
Giga-Antares is exceedingly cruel and even a bit inappropriate, acting somewhere between flirty and outright sadistic. She still possesses her temple despite not being hooked to it, and keeps an extensive collection of ‘statues’ of previous victims, who are all 100% still alive, simply paralyzed by one of her two HEC-empowered venoms (her bite). The venom in her stinger, by contrast, affects the circuits of her victims, causing intense anguish.
She desperately seeks other Sungod-tier stars, hoping to devour their cores to sate her own collapsed core’s emptiness. She has already discovered and devoured her variant of Khepri’s.

Part 1 | Part 2
Y/N POV:
He was drunk. Again. This time it was worse than the others though. The other times he was drunk enough that he was tired and could not stay awake long enough to actually hurt me anymore than a couple of hits poorly aimed and a handful of harmful words thrown at me. But it was enough for me to fall further into a deep, black void that seemed to have no way out. It was inescapable. I could hear him banging and shouting to himself downstairs. I was in our room, pretending to be asleep. I rarely slept when he was around, scared of what he would do to me when I was unaware.
That was why I slept while he was out during the day, and then would sneak out at night once I knew he was sleeping. I would go to a park nearby and just sit there and collect my thoughts. Sometimes I would let myself taste the sweet release that I got when I danced, but that was very rare. He banned me from dancing, saying it was like I was cheating on him by showing off my body to other people. And of course, I believed him.
I guess the only good thing was that he wasn’t my soulmate. Everything was still black and white and all the shades of grey in between for me. But I just couldn’t find the courage in myself to get help to leave him. When I was in the park, I loved to listen to BTS to help myself find the courage to get through the next day. Just enough that I would want to survive. But that didn’t stop the want to die from slipping through some cracks. Small scars littered my wrists. They all looked almost silver to me, but I knew that if I could see colour, they would be red. The colour of blood.
He laughed when he found out. Said I deserved it. Said I should do it more and maybe, just maybe, if I was lucky I would cut deep enough to end it.
I could hear his footsteps thumping up the stairs now. I gulped and nestled under the blankets, trying to even out my breathing and slow it down to give the impression I was asleep. I almost flinched when I heard the door open, but I managed to stay still.
“I know you’re awake.” He said, his voice dangerously calm. His footsteps grew louder until I could feel his breath fan over me. It stunk of cheap whisky and other alcohol. He scoffed. “Of course you’d ignore me. Stupid bitch!” He slapped me across the face, causing me to jolt forward and gasp in pain as red hot sparks shot across my face. I curled into a ball, protecting my face with my arms. “Worthless, good for nothing slut.” He pulled me off the bed and kicked me in the stomach, making me cry out in pain. I began to back away from him, pushing myself along the floor with my hands and feet as he walked towards me.
My heart was pounding in my chest, my breathing erratic. I was scared. He could kill me. He lifted his foot as if he was going to stamp on my outstretched leg, but I rolled away just in time, earning myself a kick to the side. I whimpered and stumbled to my feet. I looked around for something, anything I could use as a weapon, as something to defend myself. My eyes zeroed in on a lamp. It was a gift from my mother; a metal base that had little knots of the material jutting out from the sides. I knew it was heavy. I knew that it could possibly knock him out.
I ran over to it and picked it up, yanking the plug out of the socket. He walked closer to me, scoffing. “You think you can hurt me with that?” He chuckled. “Sweet,” He began to undo the buckle of his belt and was about to pull it from its confines when I swung at him with the lamp. It was as if the gods were looking down upon me when the metal end connected with his head, knocking him out cold.
I stared down at his unconscious body, breathing quickly. I tried to calm myself down as I grabbed my phone and shoes, quickly disabling my location services. I had to leave him. Next time, I may not be so lucky. I looked around and stuffed some clothes into a backpack, grabbed a charger and my toothbrush and ran out of the house.
I didn’t have a car. He never let me, since he was under the impression that I could get away with it. Guess he forgot I had two legs and could walk. I shivered slightly, wrapping my arms around myself in an attempt to warm me up. I was only wearing a light hoodie, not realising how cold it was.
But I’d be fine. I could just huddle up underneath some of my clothes - use them as a blanket. I didn’t have any friends I could go to - he had made me get rid of them as well. I suppose it was safer for them; he could have threatened to hurt them to get me to do anything. I looked up at the sky, seeing the moon glowing a bright white light, the beauty of it making me feel calm. The moon was full and round, the streets being illuminated by the moonlight as I made my way to the little park that was my safespace.
Yoongi POV:
“No, no, no, no!” I groaned as my computer froze, the coloured pinwheel spinning around as if to mock me. I slammed my hand down on the desk in frustration, knowing that there was a good chance that all my hours of hard work on this song would be deleted.
I pushed my chair back harshly and got up, kicking at the chair in annoyance. “Stupid thing. Can’t even work properly.” I glanced at the screen, letting a small sliver of hope through, hoping that the work had been saved and that it was still there, almost at the point of completion. My heart sunk, the screen was black. There goes eight hours or more of hard work for nothing.
I picked up my phone to check the time. It was almost midnight. There was a miriad of texts from my hyung and dongsaengs, urging me to come eat. Hobi had said he had come to get me but I clearly didn’t or wouldn’t hear him so he left. There was food for me in the fridge and Jungkook was waiting up for me. Of course he was, the boy could not sleep without knowing that everyone was in the dorm.
All seven of us were in a relationship with each other, yet we were not soulmates since it was not allowed between people of the same sex. Stupid homophobic system. But if Kookie was waiting for me, I guess I should stop working now. The boy would force himself to stay awake, which would make him grumpy the next morning. Sometimes he acts like a baby, but who can blame him? He is the maknae after all.
My phone dinged, signalling a text for Taehyung.
Tae ❤️:
Hyung, when are you coming backkkkk? The bed is empty and I’m colddddddd. Pleaseeeee hurryyyyyyyyy
I love youuuuuu
But hurryyyyyyy
I shook my head and chuckled at Taehyung’s cuteness. I decided I would not text him back, but rather call him as I collected my stuff. I clicked on his contact name and put the phone against my ear as I shut off the computer and walked out of Genius Lab, locking the door behind me.
“Hyung! When are you coming back?!” Tae asked as soon as he picked up the phone.
“Tae, baby. I am on my way, okay? I’m just a bit stressed though, so I may have to have even more cuddles.” I said. Even though I never showed it, I loved having and giving hugs to the members. But only behind closed doors. I could never do it in front of the cameras. It would ruin my bad boy persona.
“Cuddles!” Tae gasped. “Yay. Hurry, please, hyung.” He pleaded, dragging out the end of the ‘please’, making me chuckle.
“I’m just getting in the car now baby boy. I’ll be back soon. Give me five minutes.” I said as I unlocked my car and got in, throwing my stuff over to the passenger seat.
“Okay, hyung.” Tae said, smiling. I could hear it in his voice. “Oh, and hyung?”
“Yes baby?” I said as I set the phone in its holder and put it on speaker so I could start driving.
“I have a surprise for you.” He sang, giggling after. “I think you’ll like it a lot.”
“Oh, I look forward to it, baby.” I said as I reached a traffic light that was just outside the building. As I looked around, I caught a glimpse of lace stuffed by the seat. I frowned and reached over, pulling at it to get a closer look at what it was. I smiled and shook my head as I realised that it was a pair of Tae’s panties. He had obviously hidden them in here, seeing how they were strategically concealed.
Wearing lingerie was something Tae loved to do. He wore it all the time, not that any of us complained. He looked so cute, but so beautiful and breathtaking at the same time. My personal favourite was when he wore one of my oversized shirts with a pair of panties underneath, the lace framing his ass perfectly. Tae was the subbiest out of all of us, with Jimin and Jungkook a close second. Jin would sometimes sub and sometimes dom, but me, Joon and Hobi were the doms. I wondered if this is what his surprise would be.
“Oh, baby, I have something of yours.” I said.
“What is it?” Tae asked curiously. I could hear the duvet covers moving around as he shuffled on our bed. Each of us shared a room. It was me and Tae, Jimin and Hobi, and Joon, Jin and Kookie. Some nights, there would be more of us sleeping together, and some nights we would all sleep with each other. That was usually if one of us was really stressed or really upset and needed comfort from everyone. I wouldn’t need that tonight. I knew Tae would be able to cuddle away all my worries. I would be able to make it up tomorrow. I could get one of the others to help me.
“I’ll let you guess, baby. It was in my car and they are lacy.” I hinted. I heard him swallow before he took a deep breath.
“Am I in trouble?” Tae asked, his voice a lot quieter. “I’m sorry, I put them in there as a just in case, you know how you like to rip them off me.” He added quickly.
“I’m not angry at you baby boy.” I said, keeping my voice calm. “It was a nice surprise.”
“It was?” I could hear the smirk in Tae’s voice. “Then you’re going to like what I have for you here in bed... Master...”
As soon as he said this, I felt what could have been all my blood rush to my dick. “I’m almost home, baby.” I said, clearing my throat and palming myself to relieve the feeling I had. I let out quiet and breathy moan.
“Are you touching yourself, master?” Tae asked. “Are you getting your big cock nice and hard for me?”
“I want you ready for me when I get in, puppy.” I said as I pulled the car into the driveway of the apartment complex where our dorm was.
“I’ll be waiting for you, Master.” Tae said excitedly, ending the call.
I turned off the engine of the car and sat there for a few moments, trying to calm myself down slightly. I would give him a slight punishment - he knew not to leave things in the car, no matter how arousing it would be for me, and he had also teased me slightly.
I walked into the house and spied Jungkook sat on the sofa, mindlessly flicking through the channels on the TV. So, he had waited up for me. Might as well if he wants to join in the fun with me and Tae.
“Kookie, baby.” I said, walking over to squat down in front of him. As I came into his line of vision, a bunny smile formed on his face.
“Hyungie, you’re back.” Jungkook flung his arms around my neck and kissed my cheek.
“Hey, bunny.” I stroked his hair and turned my head to kiss his lips gently. “Baby, TaeTae and I are going to be having some fun in a second. Do you want to join us?”
Jungkook looked at me, his chocolate eyes sparkling. He hummed in agreement and nodded his head. “Bunny wants to help please Master and TaeTae.” He said, instantly slipping into his subspace.
“Okay, bunny.” I said, standing up with him still wrapped around my neck. He whined when I tried to push him off so I could walk upstairs. “Do you want me to carry you?” My cute little bunny nodded eagerly, so I picked him up and carried him towards mine and Tae’s bedroom. “Alright, bunny, let’s go say hi to TaeTae. Master has to punish him a bit though, first. You can go freshen up first if you want.” I suggested.
Jungkook nodded before leaning forward to kiss me. I reached down and squeezed him through his sweatpants, causing him to let out a shaky whine. “Master, please.”
“Go freshen up baby. When you’re done you can come straight in.” I said, setting him on his way with a pat to his bum.
I pushed open the door to Tae’s room and saw him kneeling on the bed. But what really took my breath away was what he was wearing. It was a lace bodysuit that had bows decorating it. I couldn’t see his ass, but I already knew that there would be nothing covering it. There were small bows fastened to the tops of his thighs, holding the bodysuit in place. To top it all off he had a collar fastened around his neck.
“Fuck, puppy. Look at you. So beautiful for me.” I said, walking over to him and tracing his lips with my finger. “I believe these belong to you.” I pulled the lace out of my pocket and tossed it at him. He caught it with one hand and smirked at me.
“Did you like your surprise, master?” He asked coyly, looking up at me. I moved my hand to hold his face in place, cupping his chin.
“I love it, puppy, but you know the rules. You don’t leave things in my car, do you?”
“No, master.” Tae looked down in shame. “‘M sorry. I just wanted it to be there as a backup.”
“Puppy, do you wanna know why I rip them off you?” I asked, kneeling down in front of him. He tilted his head at me in confusion. “Because I love the idea that you are wearing nothing beneath your clothes and that if you have one slip up, you would be exposed.” I trailed my finger down his chest and circled it around his tip.
“Master, please.” He begged. “I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. It was a mistake.” I could see that he was almost fully hard, his cock was straining against the fabric of his bodysuit.
“You wanna make it up to me? Turn over and on my knee.” I ordered, sitting down on the edge of the bed.
“Yes, master.” Tae leant across my lap, his stomach resting on my knees. I smirked when I saw his exposed ass, all round and ready for me.
“Now, puppy. Kookie will be joining us soon, so we’d better make your initial punishment quick.” I said, kneading the globes of his ass. It wasn’t as big as Jimin’s, but Tae definitely had a beautiful ass. “How many do you think you deserve, pup?”
“At least 20, master. I was naughty.” Tae almost moaned out.
“Yes you were, puppy. Very naughty. You also teased master when he was coming home.” I sighed. “But, I guess my puppy likes being punished, doesn’t he?” Tae was silent. I smacked his ass hard, causing the flesh to jiggle. “Doesn’t he?” I repeated.
“Yes, master.” He said after he had yelped. I could feel how hard he was pressing against my thigh.
“I think I may give you 25, how does that sound?”
“Good, master.”
“And after each one, you thank me. You need to learn to obey, don’t you puppy?”
“Yes, master. I do.”
“Count, dumb pup.” I began to slap his ass. Each time he counted and thanked me. At 25, he was sobbing in pain and pleasure, rutting against my thigh. I pulled him up so he was straddling my lap. “Such a good boy, taking your punishment so well.” I praised him, making him smile at me lazily. “So I think my puppy deserves a reward?” Tae nodded excitedly so I pushed him down so he was kneeling on the floor.
I stroked his hair out of his face. “I want you to suck me off, pup.” I said, tugging on his hair gently. His hair was always curly and floppy, always soft to the touch. I stroked my fingers through it lazily as he played with the zipper on my pants, before tugging at them to pull them down. I quickly stood up and allowed him to pull them down with my boxers before I sat back down.
His eyes widened when I came into his eyeline, his mouth instantly watering. His hand cautiously reached out and wrapped around me, giving me a few strokes. I inhaled sharply and hissed at the feeling of his calloused palm wrapped around me. “No hands, baby. Just your mouth.” I said after a few seconds, batting his hand away.
He set his hands on my thighs and sat up a bit so he was level with my dick. His mouth opened eagerly and before I knew it, the tip of my dick was engulfed in his warm, wet mouth. I tilted my head back and groaned, fingers tangling in his hair and tugging, earning some quiet moans from my puppy.
I looked down and saw his big eyes staring up at me as his mouth took more of me in. “Fuck, you look so pretty baby.” I cooed, tracing his lips that were stretched around me. “All stuffed full of my cock. I know you can take more though.” I gently pushed at his head, making him take more of me in until my tip hit the back of his throat. He gagged slightly as tears sprung from his eyes. “Now, you can stay just like that until Jungkook comes and then your real punishment can begin, hmm?”
Taehyung nodded, choking on my dick as it went further down his throat. “Careful pup. Don’t hurt yourself.” I said, wiping away the tears that were trailing down his face from the intrusion in his throat. He always looked so beautiful like this.
After a couple of minutes, Jungkook came into the room, his mouth opening slightly as he took in the sight in front of him. “Hey bunny.” I said, beckoning him over. “Doesn’t TaeTae look so pretty?”
“TaeTae always looks so pretty, master.” Jungkook said, his voice barely a whisper.
I took Jungkook’s hand and pulled him on the bed as I pushed Tae off of me. “Okay, here’s what is going to happen. Tae, puppy, you are going to sit on the other side of the bed and watch as I play with Koo until I decide that you can join us.” Taehyung nodded and scrambled to the other side of the bed, his cock hanging heavily between his legs, begging for release. It was a dark colour, signalling how desperate he was for release, but I wasn’t going to let him have it. Not yet. He got himself comfortable and was about to start stroking himself when I added the next part. “And no touching yourself, pup.”
Tae’s bottom lip started to wobble slightly. “Oh, please, master. Please. I need to cum so bad.”
I looked at him and smiled as I helped Kookie undress. “No, dumb pup. You’ve been naughty. You need to prove that you deserve it.”
Tae looked like he had been slapped. “O-Okay, master. I’ll be good.” He said, trapping his hands between his thighs and the mattress. Once I was sure that he wasn’t going to disobey my orders, I turned my attention back to a now naked Jungkook.
“Look at my beautiful boy.” I smiled as I stroked my hand down his chest, feeling his abs, before travelling down to his thighs to squeeze them gently. It was known that Jungkook had a thigh kink. He would always have to have his hands on someone’s thighs, squeezing them and sometimes sucking at them if we were having fun with each other. “He has such big thighs.” I bent my head down to suck at them, causing a whiny moan to spill from his parted lips.
“Master, please.” He looked at me with his doe eyes shining.
“Please what, bunny? Do you want master to touch you here?” I traced my finger along his dick, earning a quiet groan from him. His dick was long and pretty, the mushroomed head a darker shade than the rest of it. It twitched as I traced the vein along it. I trailed my finger down to his ass. “Or here?” I circled his hole, earning a moan and a breathy yes from him.
I hooked his legs over my shoulders and wrapped my lips around his hole, stroking my tongue over his puckered hole, making him jolt forward slightly. “Ah, Master.” He moaned as I licked at him. He tasted musty and his shower gel and something that was distinctly Jungkook. I prodded at his hole with my tongue before pushing it into him, licking at his walls, coaxing high pitched whines and moans out of him. “Master, I’m so close.” Jungkook cried out, so I pulled away, leaving his hole shining with my saliva.
“Bunny, do you want me to stretch you out first, or can you take me?” I asked, as I kissed him, slipping my tongue into his mouth so he could taste himself on my tongue.
“I can take it, master.” Jungkook said eagerly. I nodded and kissed him again as I pushed my dick against his hole. The head pushed past the ring of muscle with some resistance until I was fully sheathed inside of him. “Ah,” Jungkook had his mouth open in pleasure, beautiful sounds spilling out of me as he adjusted to my size. “You’re so big master. You stretch me out so good. Feel so full.”
He was so warm, wrapped around me, and so tight. He was always tight no matter how often we fucked him, or with how many dicks he was fucked with at once. I moved my hips back before snapping them back in, causing the both of us to moan. Each thrust got faster and harder until Jungkook was a moaning mess, writhing around beneath me.
There was a whimper from next to us and I looked up to see Taehyung, watching us while tears poured down his face. “Yellow.” Tae hated to be left out when he was in his subspace. He always had to be doing something and not just watching. “Master, please.” He begged when he saw me watching him. “Please, I’m sorry. Just let me join in.”
I looked at Jungkook who had been watching me and him carefully. “Shall we let him join us?” I asked the boy underneath me. He nodded eagerly.
“I wan’ him to ride me.” Jungkook requested. “While you fuck me.”
“Okay, bunny.” I said, stroking his hair. I pulled out of him carefully to get Tae and comfort him. “Hey, puppy, you’re okay. You took your punishment so well. Master is so proud of you.” I said, hugging him tight. “Such a good boy.” I kissed his lips gently as I wiped away his tears. “Especially for telling me you didn’t feel comfortable anymore.”
“Thank you, master.” Taehyung smiled at me, his eyes still slightly teary. I reached down and pumped him a bit, smearing his precum around his dick.
“Look how wet you are, puppy.” I cooed as he crawled over to Jungkook. He leaned forward to kiss Jungkook. While he did this, I squirted some lube on my fingers and pushed two into him, making sure he was properly stretched out. I thrusted them into him for a bit before adding a third. Once I was sure he was ready, I nodded at him. “Go sit on Kookie’s cock baby.” I said. He lowered himself down slowly, causing both of them to moan loudly. Once Tae was fully seated, I pushed myself back into Kook, making him moan again. “How are you feeling, bun?”
“Feels s’ good.” Kookie said, looking kind of spaced. “Please, ‘m green.” I began to move inside him, making him grip onto Tae’s thighs and moan out loud. Tae began to bounce on his dick, moans coming out of his mouth. I reached around and started to stroke Tae’s dick in time to my thrusts inside Jungkook. Tae’s moans got louder and louder, signalling he was getting very close. I could feel my lower stomach tightening, signalling I was about to come.
“Master, I’m so close.” Jungkook whined, earning a noise of agreement from Tae.
“You can both come.” I allowed, stroking Tae even faster. He began to shake as Kookie began to buck up his hips due to how close he was. I knew Tae would come extra hard if I talked dirty to him, so I did. Jungkook was already close to cumming, but as soon as Tae came I would finish so I didn’t want him to be overstimulated by it all.
“Tae, puppy. Get off Kookie a second.” I said, tapping his bum which was now starting to bruise. Tae looked over his shoulder at me, looking as if he might cry. “You still get to come, puppy. I just wanna see you. Get back on Koo facing me.” I explained. Tae nodded and got off, turning himself around before lowering himself back down. I caught sight of his beautiful face, his mouth open and eyes squeezed shut as Jungkook’s cock split him open. “Now lie down so your back is against Koo’s stomach.” Tae obeyed and let him lie back. “Koo, bun, lift up his legs so I can see your dick going into his pretty hole.” Kook obeyed, wrapping his arms around Tae’s thighs and almost folding him in half. I almost came at the sight in front of me. Tae’s hole was so stretched around Jungkook’s cock, making it become slightly swollen.
I smirked at Tae before stroking around his hole and Kook’s dick with my thumb. “So pretty, puppy, letting bunny stretch you out like this. I bet you can’t wait for him to fill you with his cum, painting your insides white. Or maybe you’d like both of us in there. Imagine how it would feel, both of us splitting your pretty hole open, gaping you out so much all our cum would just come back out of you. Both of our cocks rubbing against your walls.” I reached out and began stroking his cock, seeing his face scrunch up and his body tense. He was right on the edge. “I bet it would make you come instantly. We’d have to maybe put a cock ring on you to stop you cumming too early. But you’d like that wouldn’t you?”
“Yes, master. I’d love it.” Tae was breathless. “Oh, I’m so close.” He whined, letting his head tilt back on Jungkook’s shoulder.
“But we’d have to stretch out your little hole even more.” I smiled, pushing my thumb into his hole alongside Kook’s cock. Tae let out a scream, his body going still.
“You sound so pretty, TaeTae.” Kook said, stroking up and down his thighs. “Bet you’re so wrecked down there.” He reached down and pushed one of his fingers into Tae, next to mine. “Master, can we plug my cum inside him?” Kook asked.
“Of course we can bunny.” I said. “But we need this puppy to cum first.” I looked at Tae, whose body was jerking. “Aww, look at him. He’s going to come so hard.” I stroked him even faster before leaning down and taking his entire length into my mouth. I sucked hard, hollowing out my cheeks. Tae let out a silent scream as he came hard, his body shaking with the force of his orgasm.
I swallowed some of his cum, loving the salty tang of it before leaning over him to kiss Kook, transferring some to his mouth. Kook moaned at the taste, making Tae whine. Of course he wanted to have some. I moved to kiss Tae, transferring the last of it to his mouth. His throat bobbed as he swallowed.
“You’re such a cumslut, pup.” I chuckled, now starting to thrust hard into Kookie, chasing my own orgasm. Kookie’s breaths started coming out as short, high-pitched moans as his own orgasm drew nearer and nearer.
“I’m gonna cum, master.” Kookie warned as his hole clamped down on me, making me unable to move. The pulsing and constant contracting of his walls made me spill into him as he spilled into Tae. Both of us moaned as we released. I fell forward and leant my head on Tae’s stomach as I caught my breath.
“Both of you did so good.” I said as I carefully pulled out of Jungkook. “Koo, do you want a plug?” The boy nodded so I moved over to my bedside table and pulled out one of the four plugs I had in there. One for each sub. I walked back over to the pair who were still connected to each other. I pushed the trail of cum that had come out of Kookie back into him and pushed the plug into him.
“And me!” Tae exclaimed. I chuckled and got his out of the drawer.
“Alright, baby. Let’s get you off Koo, hmm?” I gently pulled him off Koo and pushed the plug into him. “How are you both feeling?” I asked, looking at both of them.
“Tired.” Tae replied.
“Good.” Jungkook replied at the same time. He had a sleepy smile plastered on his face.
“Okay, that’s good. Tae baby, you gotta stay awake for a bit longer. I need to clean you up, and put some lotion on you.” I said, gently stroking his hair as he looked at me with his eyes half shut.
He whined slightly, moving so he was sat on my lap. I could feel the plastic of the plug nestled between his ass cheeks pushing into my thigh. “Can I have a bath?” He asked, his head laying on my shoulder.
“Sure baby.” I said. “Do you and Koo want to have one together?” I looked at them both as they nodded their heads. “Alright babies.” I stroked Tae’s hair gently. “Let’s take these plugs out of you, okay?” Kook nodded and bent over slightly so I could pull it out of him. He hissed as his hole stretched around the bulbous plastic, followed by the dripping of my cum out of him. “Okay, KooKoo, why don’t you go and start the bath and I’ll get Tae ready.”
“Okay hyungie.” Jungkook pressed a quick kiss to my lips before padding into my adjoined bathroom and starting the bath.
“Okay, Taebaby, I need you to stand up.” I said softly to the sleepy boy on my lap.
He groaned and looked up at me, his eyes narrowed. “Why?” He asked.
“I need to take your plug out, love.” I said. “It’s going to hurt you later otherwise.” He opened his mouth to protest but I pressed a finger to his lips. “No buts baby, I’m taking it out.” I laid him down on the bed and gently pulled it out of him, allowing Jungkook’s cum to spill out of him.
“Want some.” Tae whispered, looking at me. I sighed and swiped some of the cum onto my fingers and let him suckle it off.
“Now, bath time.” I said, pulling him up so he was standing on his own two feet and leading him into the bathroom.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours later, we were all cuddled up in bed. I had had trouble falling asleep - the stress from losing all my work was still looming in the back of my mind. I had told my manager, but he must have been asleep when I sent the message.
Tae hummed in his sleep as he curled into my side even more, Jungkook spooning him from behind. They both looked peaceful as they slept, not a hint of worry on their perfect faces.
My phone began to buzz, cutting through the silent atmosphere like a hot knife through butter. I unwrapped Tae from around myself and sat up answering the phone. “Hello?” I asked in a hushed voice as I disentangled myself from the blankets.
“Yoongi-ah? I need those tracks by 8am in the morning. You’re going to have to keep working on them.” My manager said, sounding quite annoyed. My heart began beating faster as I felt the stress and anxiety begin to build back up inside of me. “You should have stayed later and fixed your mistake.” I slipped out of the room and closed the door.
“My mistake?!” I was pissed. It was not my fault that the systems crashed and deleted everything. Do I control all the computers at the company? No! If anything they should be badgering IT to see if they can recover some of the files. “The computers crashed as I went to save it. Can’t IT recover them? That is eight hours of work lost!”
“No they can’t. That’s why I’m calling. I need you to come in right now and try to redo them the same.” He requested. “I’m sorry about this, but I just need those otherwise you will miss the deadline and your mixtape will have to be delayed further.”
“I think we need to get better computers. Those ones are getting kind of old and slow.” I said.
“Don’t blame the machinery Yoongi-ssi.” He said shortly. “Come in now or no mixtape this year. And you wouldn’t want to disappoint ARMY, would you?”
I scoffed. Now he’s guilt-tripping me. “I’ll be in in about half an hour. Let me get changed and get my stuff together.” I said.
“Okay, I’ll be waiting.” He hung up the phone and I let out a noise of frustration before going back into the room, closing the door as quietly as I could so I wouldn’t wake up the sleeping babies. I looked over at the bed and let a fond smile ghost over my face. Taehyung’s hair had now flopped in front of his face and his arms were outstretched to the spot where I had previously been sleeping.
I felt bad for leaving them alone, but I really didn’t have a choice. I walked into my wardrobe and pulled out a sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants and quickly changed into them. I pulled on a beanie and grabbed my lyric books before grabbing a pair of shoes and sliding them on.
I must have been a bit too loud because there was rustling in the bed and I saw Taehyung patting around with his hand. He sat up and squinted at me sleepily. “Hyungie? Where you goin’?” His voice was heavy with sleep. “What time is it?”
“It’s early, love. Go back to sleep. I need to go in to the studio.” I said, walking over to him to kiss him goodbye. “Come on lie back down.”
“But you were there all day yesterday.” He complained, whining slightly.
“I know, baby, I know. But all my work got deleted so I need to go back in to redo it.” I said. “And if I don’t meet the deadline then my mixtape will get pushed back even further and that wouldn’t be fair to ARMY.”
“But these songs aren’t even for your mixtape! They’re blackmailing you!” Taehyung exclaimed. “I wanna come with you.”
“Baby, I don’t know if that’s such a good idea.” I said, pushing his hair back out of his face.
“No it is! I could help you, and you always say two brains are better than one. We can get it done faster.” He argued, sounding determined. “And we can tell Kookie so he won’t get confused when he wakes up. We can leave him a note. Pleaseeeeee.”
I sighed. “Okay, fine. But get dressed quickly.”
Y/N POV:
I shivered under some of the clothes as I lay on the bench. I was too scared to sleep. He could appear at any moment and drag me home to give me the beating of a lifetime, and this time he could actually kill me.
Every time I heard footsteps I would freeze and not move, hoping that it wasn’t him, and that if it was, he wouldn’t see me. It was getting colder though, and I knew I would have to move in order to keep myself from getting hypothermia.
I knew there was one thing that would be able to calm me down, and it would also keep me warm. I rifled through my pockets, trying to locate my headphones. My fingers wrapped around the wire and pulled it out. I groaned. They were all tangled and knotted. I began to pick them apart, finally freeing the individual earbuds. I plugged it into my phone and scrolled through my music until I picked a song that I wanted to dance to. Spring Day. It cheered me up a lot, and I loved the dance.
The notes flowed through my body, twisting and turning to the tips of my fingers and the ends of my toes. My body moved like the waves in this ocean of music, bending and stretching at the crests and troughs. I loved it. As I danced, I allowed my thoughts to
I had started dance when I was three. My mother had insisted that I was going to be a prima ballerina, or a professional dancer in a company, so she had me enrolled in any kind of dance you could think of. Baby ballet, baby tap, baby jazz, baby contemporary, baby street dance, baby modern, baby music theatre. Most of my life was spent dancing. As I got older, she put me into singing, art and drama classes. I dropped some of the dance classes: tap, modern and jazz. I was happy.
Then came the arguments. My mother and father started arguing over the amount of money that was being spent on me. We were quite a well-off family, both of my parents has respectable jobs with a decent salary. Income was good, and there was even some wiggle room for nice holidays. That was, until my dad became addicted to alcohol and spent all of our savings on the drink until there was barely anything left.
My mother had to put some away secretly just to be able to pay for bills and my extra curriculars. But he found out, and that’s when the arguments started. I was eight at the time. He would accuse her of not trusting him, and she would accuse him of being an alcoholic and how that wasn’t a good environment for me to be in.
The arguing would last for at least three hours each night and would end with one of them storming out the house. Most nights it was my father - probably to get even more drunk. My mother would slam the door to their bedroom and dissolve into tears. I would hear her sobbing herself to sleep, but I was too scared to comfort her.
One day, after a year or so, my father stormed out that door and never came back. My mother said it was for the best; in my mind, though, it was my fault. I was the one who had all the dance lessons and singing lessons and drama lessons and art lessons. I was the one who was using all their money. He liked to tell me that when my mother would storm out. He also liked to hit me. When my mother found the bruises and cuts, she lost it. That was what caused the arguments to get worse.
Things got better after he left. My mother got happier, found a new boyfriend. He was nice, buying me the latest iPhone or laptop. We were all happy.
And then I met him. He was the perfect boyfriend: kind, loving, everything you would want. But that’s the thing about love. It’s blind. It would be a few months before I realised who he was behind the mask he put on everyday. I should have realised that the relationship was moving too quickly. He asked me to move in with him after we had been together for just three months. As soon as I set foot inside that house, the door locked behind me, and the key hidden somewhere I could never find it.
After a couple of weeks, the verbal abuse started. The name calling and insults and threats over something unimportant, like slightly burnt potatoes. I brushed it off as something normal. After all, it was my fault. I was the one who turned the oven up too high.
Then came the physical abuse. At first it started off as slaps and small beatings, but it eventually lead up to him getting out his belt and whacking it across my face every night before beating me up with his fists. I don’t know what exactly caused him to do it. Sometimes he said it was me looking at another man, and other times it was just because of my presence. Either way, it was my fault and I deserved them.
I tried to leave him. But he caught me, and I almost ended up in hospital from the force of his beating. My skin was mottled blue and purple for weeks. It was then I started self-harming. It was my fault.
I twirled as the song came to an end, catching sight of a figure standing in the shadow of the trees. My breath hitched in my throat. Had he found me? If he had, he was going to kill me for sure.
Yoongi POV:
Just as I had thought Tae had fallen asleep on my couch, bundled up in my hoodie about an hour after we arrived at the studio. We had already retrieved the majority of the songs though.
He had got to work immediately, perching on my lap as he sang the demo song over the backing music, which thankfully I had saved. I loved Taehyung’s voice - it was deep and sultry, which was actually something that contrasted greatly to his personality he showed in private. After we’d been working for about fifty minutes, he began to yawn, curling up and leaning against my shoulder, watching me put together the backing tracks and the vocals and moving things around to create the songs. His favourite was ‘Black Swan’.
“‘M sleepy, hyungie.” He mumbled against my collarbone.
I reached up and stroked his hair gently. “You can go and sleep on the couch. I’m almost done, baby.” He looked up at me through sleepily squinted eyes.
“You sure? I think I can stay awake a bit longer?” He said, yawning again. When he yawned he sometimes looked like a baby puppy.
“No, baby, you’re tired.” I said, rubbing his back. “Go on, do you want my hoodie?” I asked.
“Mhm.” He nodded his head. He slid off my lap and made grabby hands at my hoodie. I pulled it off, leaving me in my white v-neck top, and handed it to him. He pulled it on and lay down on the couch, closing his eyes and almost instantly falling asleep. I smiled at him fondly before turning back to my work.
I only had one song left to do - my solo song on the album. I searched through my files, only to realise that my work on it had all disappeared. I groaned and saved everything before shutting my computer down. I needed to go for a quick walk to clear my head. I turned to look at Tae, who was curled on the couch in a deep sleep. The park I would go to to clear my head is only a five minute walk away from here. I would be thirty minutes tops. He wouldn’t wake up hopefully, and if he did, I was only a phone call away.
I grabbed my extra hoodie and pulled on my jacket, gently closing the door to my studio. I walked out of the building and made my way to the park.
It was cold outside. The air bit at my exposed cheeks and nose as I walked. I pulled a mask on to insulate them. The park was calming and whenever I went there, it was quiet and if there was anyone there, they were elderly and didn’t know who I was.
I walked through the gate of the park, pushing the squeaky barrier open. It appeared deserted, which wasn’t surprising considering that it was four am. But I still kept my guard up; you never know what crackheads will be around.
I was walking through the trees towards my favourite thinking bench when I saw her. She was dancing to some very familiar choreography. I stopped in my tracks. She was a beautiful dancer. I watched, awestruck as she flawlessly twirled and flipped and turned. It was then I recognised it. It was Jimin’s choreography in Spring Day. She must be a fan. She twirled one last time and stopped, facing me. Her face twisted into a look of terror as she ran to gather her things. On the bench I noticed, was a backpack and a pile of clothes.
“Wait!” I yelled after her, chasing her to talk to her. It was clear that something was troubling her, and I wanted to help her, not caring that she was an ARMY. “Let me help you! Please!” I caught up to her at the bench, where she had slightly calmed down. As soon as we made eye contact, something strange happened. All the greyscale colours in my world that I had grown used to melted away. My eyes were filled with dark greens and blues, clearly because of the darkness, but the moonlight shone down on her.
She was breath-taking. Her hair was a shiny, vibrant, Y/H/C, and her eyes shone like Y/E/C gems. She was holding her breath in surprise, probably recognising who I was.
“You’re Min Yoongi.” She said. “You’re my soulmate. This can’t be happening.” She was shocked and confused.
But I didn’t know what to do. Now that I had found my soulmate, did that mean I had to leave the others? We had never discussed the possibility of this happening. I looked at the girl in front of me and decided that I couldn’t leave her. Not like this. She looked scared, and from the looks of things, she was homeless. I had to look after her. And I swore to myself that I would. Until the end of time.

Stuck
"The fuck?" Wilbur muttered, watching his computer screen lag and crash. If it wasn't so abrupt, he would have gotten mad at all the lost work. As it was, he simply sat there, confused. Had the power tripped?
A quick - and unnecessary - glance at his lamp told Wilbur that the power was still on, which only puzzled him more. After a moment, it registered that his ceiling lights were also on. Feeling somewhat stupid, Wilbur tried to think of other explanations for the abrupt shortage of power in his computer.
And he found it.
A quick peek behind his desk told him all he needed to know. His computer had unplugged itself. And really, it wasn't all the hard to see why.
"It's a fucking jumble of wires back there," Wilbur muttered, getting up from his seat to get a better look. Wires, black, red, blue, green, ran around the hidden area, coiling around one another and tangling into big knots. One small tug could easily unplug several devices.
It was going to take a while to sort out.
Being lazy, Wilbur simply wrote a small sticky note remind to clean up the wires. As of right now, he decided that all he needed to do was to replug the cord to his computer. He would deal with everything else later.
What? He had editing to do! (The realization that he had lost at least three hours of editing was also staring to sink in.)
And it would have worked out just fine! Wilbur would have been able to redo all of his lost work and have his video out by tomorrow!
...Except, it seemed like fate had other ideas.
The electrical socket his computer's cord was supposed to be plugged into was a little further in and lower than Wil had initially expected. As a result, Wilbur had to get on his stomach and scoot his way over. After a few failed attempts and a lot of curses, Wilbur managed to replug his computers. Almost immediately, the fans in his computer began turning and the Microsoft power-on noise sounded above.
As Wilbur tried to scoot his way back out, a sharp tug on his left hand quickly make him stop. He froze, not wanting to knock anything over. These wires were taut. One pull would send whatever those wires were connected to falling down on top of him. With great care, Wilbur tried to untie his hand from the wires.
All he succeeded in doing was tangling his right hand too.
Yeah, there was problem. Phil was most likely out of the house with Tubbo. Wilbur vaguely remembered him telling Tubbo he had found a new beehive. Techno was probably off beating up the dummies behind their house again. That left Tommy, who he knew for a fact was upstairs.
Fuck it, Wilbur eventually decided. His reputation wasn't worth the risk of dying of electrocution.
"Tommy? Tommy, you there? Tommy! Tommy, come quick, I need your help!" Wilbur yelled. He waited. When no response came, he yelled again. And again. And again. And again.
A minute passed. Then two. Then three. Then five.
Still, nobody came.
Just as Wilbur was beginning to fear the nobody was home, he heard small pattering footsteps from outside. His bedroom door creaked open and the gentle footsteps came inside. He let out a sigh of relief. Stuck between the wall the wall and his desk, with nothing but the wires arounds his hands to keep him entertained, Wilbur had began to panic a little. Thankfully, help had finally-
"Pffffttttt," snorted Tommy, slapping a hand over his mouth. "Whahat the shit? Wilbur? What the fuck happened?"
Wilbur flushed, embarrassed. He swung a leg behind him, trying to kick Tommy.
"I come in," Tommy managed to say through his laughter, "annoyed as fuck because I was trying to set up my camera, and all I see is-"
Tommy broke off in loud cackles.
"Shut up, Tommy," Wilbur snapped, glad that the boy couldn't see his red face. "Just help me get out of here!"
Still giggling, Tommy made his way over to Wilbur. Since Wil took up all the space between the desk and the wall, Tommy was forced to scooch under the desk and work through an opening in a portion of the table. Gradually, Tommy helped Wilbur untangle himself from the wires. After making sure that nothing would fall on him, Tommy gave him the go-ahead for Wilbur to make his way out from underneath the desk.
Yet again, it seemed like fate had different ideas.
Because Tommy had to work with Wilbur through the desk, that also meant Wilbur had to work with Tommy through the desk. Although Tommy managed to help get Wilbur's hands free from wires, they were now effectively stuck underneath the desk.
"Are you kidding me right now?" snapped Tommy, irritated. What had began as a hilarious situation turned out to be a frustrating distraction from his camera-fixing.
"No, I am not kidding you right now!" Wilbur snapped back. "Now come here and help."
Working together was not Wilbur and Tommy's strong suit, and it isn't all that hard to see why. Tommy liked to be respected, but the other didn't think he deserved as much respect as he demanded (and he's right). The issue that often occurred was Tommy feeling mistreated by Wilbur.
So, as if Wilbur didn't already have enough complications to deal with, that problem had now officially entered the chat.
"You know, I had to stop fixing my camera, come down here, and help you get out from a few wires, and I don't even get a 'thank you'?"
"I'll thank you when I'm out of here. Now help me, for fuck's sake!"
Tommy glared at Wilbur, and Wilbur glared right back. Tommy sat there, angry.
"I don't need this," Tommy muttered. He sharply poked Wilbur's side. "Help yourself then."
He expected Wilbur to shut up. He expected Wilbur to be very grumpy. He expected Wilbur to apologize and call him back.
What he did not expect was for Wilbur to squeak.
-
And then Tommy, under the pretense of teaching Wilbur how to be nice, wrecks him. Yeah, I ain't writing that. I mainly do unfinished fics/prompts bc I'm too easily embarrassed to write stuff like that...
>///<
Right, anyway. Once you've written the tkling part that I'm too chicken to write, you can pick it up below.
-
"T-Tehehechno!" yelped Wilbur, pulling at his wrists. "Phihihil! Sohohohomebohody! H-Hehehelp!"
Wilbur let out an embarrassing, high-pitched squeal as Tommy hit a more sensitive part of his stomach. He tried kicking, but Tommy sat on his legs, effectively pinning them down.
"Aw, Wilbur is asking others for help~" Tommy teased, speeding up his fingers. "Is wittle Wilbur upset? Is wittle Wilbur getting despwerate? Is wittle Wilbur-"
"Shuhuhuhut the fuhuhuck up!" Wilbur demanded through his giggles. Tommy rolled his eyes.
"Some people never learn," he muttered, leaning down. He drew sharp breaths and blew quick, small raspberries all over Wilbur's exposed stomach. Wilbur could do nothing but arch his back and cackle loudly.
"WAHAHAHAIT! I-IHIHIHI'M SOHOHORRY!" Wilbur tried to apologize. "TEHEHECHNO, HEHEHELP!"
"Techno's not home, Wilbur," Tommy said, digging his fingers between Wilbur's ribs. Slowly, making sure to lightly scratch at each rib, Tommy made his way up Wilbur's ribcage, silently counting each rib. As his fingers got higher, so did the volume of Wilbur's laughs.
And his panic. He knew where Tommy was going.
"D-Dohohon't you dahare," Wilbur said, trying to be scary. Tommy placed his hands on Wilbur's underarms, innocently looking up at Wilbur. The older glared at him and Tommy had to struggle to not grin. With Wilbur's bright red face, messy hair, wide smile, and nervous giggles, he didn't look nearly as intimidating as he thought he did.
"I'm gonna do it~" Tommy sang. Wilbur tensed.
"Y-You wouldn't."
"I would."
"I-I'll get you back," Wilbur tried to threaten. Tommy wasn't fazed. All he needed to do was take one look at Wilbur's cherry-red face for any threats to lose their scariness.
"It'd still be worth it."
"D-Dohont you dahahare," Wilbur demanded. "I'm serious Tohommy."
"You know, you really could have avoided this if you were nicer to me."
Wilbur opened his mouth to respond when a new voice came from behind him.
"Who could have what when if which how why where?"
Tommy froze. He quickly retracted his hands and darted away. He scrambled into the corner of the room, warily eyeing the new member.
"T-Technoblade, my friend!" he nervously stuttered. "H-How are you doing? What brings you here today?"
Techno tiredly rubbed the bridge of his nose. "I live here, Tommy. And I couldn't help but get curious at Wilbur's laughing and screaming."
"Not my fault!" Wilbur called from his awkward position. Tommy gulped.
"What's going on?" Techno asked Tommy, glancing at Wilbur. "Why is Wilbur like that? Is he stuck? What were you doing? Tickling him?"
Wilbur squeaked at the word, which caught the attention of Techno. Meanwhile, Tommy sheepishly grinned.
"Aha..." Tommy rubbed the back of his neck and quietly explained the entire situation.
Techno stayed quiet the entire time, processing what he had heard. Then, without a word, he walked over to Wilbur. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Tommy trying to slip away.
"Tommy, stay there," he ordered. Tommy immediately stopped moving. Techno squatted down in front of Wilbur. To him, he asked, "You good? Lookin' a little red there."
"I'm fine, yeah," Wilbur muttered. "Can you let me up? I have some revenge I wanna be doing."
"Yeah, yeah, you can do that."
Tommy tensed. Oh, he was gonna get it.
"Just, in a moment."
Wilbur blinked.
"In a moment?" he echoed. "What do you mean?"
Instead of responding, Techno simply prodded his hips.

Rwby request: equal parts fluff and angst, a Dragonslayer kid shows their parents a photo album with a picture from the dance and asks why Dad’s wearing a dress and who the lady with red hair is.
This ended up being really long so most of it is under the cut!
Jaune and Yang’s daughter find an old treasure when searching for her birthday gifts.
AO3 Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/30125046
Huáng has always been curious. Her mother often states just how similar she was to her aunt in that regard. They both had questions, and would often voice them even when they're afraid. It was a point of pride for the young Xiao Long. In fact it was wanting to be more like her wonderful aunt that led her to digging through her parent's closest. It was originally to find her birthday gifts. She's only going to turn ten once, and who would it hurt to take a quick peak? No one, she decided before rummaging through their old clothes in the deepest parts of her parent's closest. With several face fulls of cobwebs, several plugged sneezes caused by the dusty corners, and many piles of forgotten clothes she was left with the bitter taste of failure in her mouth.
There was no presents anywhere. She could search the closest for the rest of her life and in the end she'd still not find them. Bitterly Huáng admits her defeat, but now her curiosity was left unsated. She hadn't found what she set out to discover, but that didn't mean her adventure was a waste! Filled with a sense of what her dad calls gung-ho. Huáng dives back into the closest. She'd either find something worthwhile, or her parents will find her there. A short time out, with maybe a few rounds of training after, and she'd be back in here. Still searching for something worthwhile. An answer to a question she doesn't even have yet. There was always something interesting buried in their closets. Anything her parents didn't have a place for was always abandoned it their furthest corners. Waiting patiently to be found by her and remembered. Even if they weren't her birthday presents.
It takes a long while before the young nine year old finally finds something other then clothes or shoes. What was buried beneath three coats was a shoe box. A shoe box older then the other pairs of her father's. It has a picture of yellow combat boots on the side. So it must've belonged to her mom. With the lid already cracked her dark blue eyes are drawn to this mystery box. Quickly she looks over her shoulders. No one had come to search for her yet. Tying her bright, blonde hair back into a ponytail, Huáng takes a deep breath. This could be a hidden treasure! Why else would it be tucked away so deep in this mess. Tucking the shoe box under her arm, Huáng shoves her way past the hanging clothes, and out of the closest.
Now safely positioned on her bed with it's green sheets and complimentary red pillows, Huáng pushes her best friend, an old beowulf stuff toy aside. Henrietta was in the way. No one smart got in her way when she was solving a mystery. Just like no grimm can stand in the way of her aunt when she's out on a mission. Carefully she sets the lid aside, as if mistreating it could leave permanent evidence of her escapade. Inside the shoe box was a book. Neatly printed in the leather cover were the words, 'Forever Memories'. She takes the book out of the box. With a quick wipe the dust is gone and the brown leather looks almost new. As if the book had barely been touched for however many years it was in there.
So of course the next logical step is to open it. The first picture was tucked inside a large plastic slot on the other side of the cover. There was a picture of herself as a baby. Her father, Jaune holding her as Yang smiles proudly while winking at the camera. Standing behind the two of them was Ruby, barely taller then her parents in the photo with one arm wrapped around each of their shoulders'. Standing next to Yang was the rest of team RWBY. Weiss and Blake smile awkwardly at the camera as they put just a small amount of space between themselves and her family. On the other side of her father was his team. Nora made no such effort to put space between Huáng's family and herself. She's got one arm looped around Uncle Ren's and her other hand tucked politely in the crook of Jaune's. Just enough to hold the two of them close to her without dropping little Huáng. Oscar stands with an embarrassed smile on the other side of a proud smiling Ren. Even Oscar was unable to escape the close knit group as he was leaning against Ren's side. Held there by Ren's free hand around his shoulders.
She's so enraptured by the faces of the dead it takes a long time for her to look throughout the rest of the book. Nora had been dead for the last four years. She couldn't even recall what shade her hair had been. Let alone what her voice used to sound like. Her father had such trouble talking about her and Uncle Ren. He'd choke up anytime he ever even thought of the two of them, and yet there was a book right here. A book that could show her the adopted aunt and uncle that died when she was little. Her memories hold a little of Ren. Specifically whenever she thinks back to her sixth birthday, it was the sad look in his eyes. He was thinner at her party then he was in the photo. In fact this was the only picture she has ever seen where he was happily smiling. Maybe he was always such a sad man.
Huáng doesn't know how he died. Her parent refused to let anyone talk about it when in the home. There was always this painful look form her father, and a steady steel-eyed gaze to whoever came close to bringing him up. All she knows is that he was sad about Nora. He missed her, and so Ren threw himself into work. He went on mission after mission alone, only ever taking a break when there was something happening with her. Still her father reminds her how much her passed on aunt and uncle loved her. He had several stories about the way her uncle would only smile when she was around. How far he would go to finish a mission just to be there for her birthdays.
But if he cared so much, why is he gone? Should she even call them family? They've been gone for so long.
No longer enjoying the questions the image stirs up Huáng moves on. The first few pages were of moments with her and her family. Her first steps chasing after her Aunt Ruby. That time her semblance activated as she watched her parents train. Her parents before and after photos when they had her. Her first day of school. These photos were placed erratically and no where near in chronological order. Almost as if someone had printed them all off together and randomly placed them into these pages. She flips through the pages, pushing past all the photos of her and the adults until gradually things did begin to have an order.
The organized photos start with a picture of her parents playfighting. Her mother holds Jaune in a headlock as he smiles up at her. Gradually they appear younger. More of their friends show up in the photos. The story they tell become less about the two of them and more about their teams. With every flip of a page the photos reflect moments that aren't even told in stories to her. Teams RWBY, and JNOR standing in front of a statue of a young women in a snow covered city. To a photo of her mother sleeping on her bike outside of a bus station. There's even a photo of her dad with a huge cut going up his arm. It must've healed well because she doesn't remember seeing any scars on his arms. At least, none that large.
Eventually she finds the pages of their time at beacon. Nearly none of their photos were of the two of them together here. In fact almost all of them were just of their teams. Her mother and Aunt Ruby chasing each other around a pond. Her mother's yellow metal arm now one of muscle and skin. There were a dozen more of team RWBY lazing around the school. Even more of pranks being done. One where Weiss woke up with a whip cream mustache. Another where Blake was drenched in water with a bucket of fish on the other side of the door. Half of them were just of her mom and Aunt Ruby.
The ones with her father were few and far between. There was Nora and Ren, but no Oscar in these photos. Instead someone with long red hair and a gold circlet was in them. She had pretty green eyes and a soft smile. In all these photos of Beacon Nora and Ren were always together. They appear even closer in these older photos. Yet her eyes keep drifting towards the red head. No one had ever mentioned her. In all these stories they have of their past nothing. All the fun adventures her parents love to share. She's never mentioned in one of them.
Carefully she slips the largest photo from it's socket. One with her father's original team standing side by side. An emotion she isn't quite sure how to describe fills her chest as she looks at the picture. Her heart beats faster, but her stomach twists something terrible. The same way it does when she eats too many of Aunt Ruby's cookies. Even her nose starts to itch like it tends to when she rolls down the hills nearby. It's impossible for her to know what the emotion is, but she knows what's causing it.
Everyone in that photo, they were all gone now. Everyone except her father. Her father who's still a hunter. Just like her mom. Huáng knows that hunting isn't perfect. It's not safe. People don't return all the time, but her parents always do. Aunt Ruby always has. Why didn't the rest of his team?
"Huáng?" She shoves the picture into the book before slamming it shut. Yes she had expected to be caught but not right now. Not when her stomach hurt.
"What'cha got there, kiddo?" Vainly Huáng pushes the book under the cover. Pale purple eyes follow it as if they were glued. With a smirk she leans against the doorframe. Muscly arms crossed she stretches her feet out to the opposite corner. Yang's body fills the doorway. There would be no escape.
The whole room slows down as Huáng tries to find a way out. There has to be. Her mother can't find out that she had been searching for her birthday gifts. She could just claim she was looking for some of her mother's clothes. Maybe she was curious about how they would look on her. Aunt Ruby had done that several times when they were kids. She told her so! Any excuse would work. As long as her mother didn't think about it for too long and realize the truth. It was just a book. There's no way she would be in as much trouble over some old photos as she would be for searching for her birthday presents.
"Uh," the creaking up the stairs fills the silence quickly. Giving her plenty of reason to stop talking. Dad was near.
"Hey," She sees his long blonde bangs before his face. They were messy with dirt and even a broken twig sticking out. He gives Yang a quick peck on her cheek.
"Your daughter is hiding something." Her tone's playful. That's a good side. Smiling her best, most innocent smile Huáng places her hands in her lap.
Jaune laughs nervously. "Oh no."
"Oh yes."
"You only call her my daughter when she does something that you did as a kid. Did she find her presents early again?" He slips a hand around Yang's waist. Burying his chin in her shoulder Jaune smiles sympathetically at his daughter. Silently he mouths the word, run.
Brushing her long ponytail back Yang throws her blonde locks right into his face. "You're not helping her out of this one."
Jaune coughs. He buries his face into her shoulder using her shirt to brush her hair from his eyes. "What?" Voice breaking at an absurdly high pitch he cries, "Help her! Y-yang come on. I just wanted to cuddle with my adorable, lovely," With a soft jab in his side, Jaune relents. Folding his hands over his sides he looks apologetically at Huáng.
All the while her parents were having their own little show Yang never looked away from Huáng. It gave her absolutely no chance to move. Why was her mother always so focus? Maybe Aunt Ruby would know how to sneak more stuff past her. Though that trick with the cookie jar she taught her hadn't worked either. If only she had a semblance like Ruby's. She could use it to dart down the stairs, straight out the front door! The birds were so quiet now. Did they know?
"Huáng what did you try to hide when your mama walked in?"
"It was just a book!" Which was true. It's just a book. A book she didn't find at all while searching for her gifts. Nah. Just an old book with a bunch of old photos.
"What book?" Jaune asks. Almost tripping, he squeezes his way past Yang into the room. He looks back at her and laughs. Yang juts her head back towards Huáng.
"This one daddy." With a sickeningly sweet voice Huáng uncovers the book. All the color in her father's face disappears.
"Oh." That was the softest she's ever heard his voice. Racking her brain for another example, Huáng's mind goes blank. His blue eyes cling to the book's cover. That recognition was so quick. The realization that this book was actually really important grips her tightly. Huáng freezes in place. Soft fingers, dig into the leather. It's course unlike before. Had she just not noticed, or did the cover change when she wasn't looking? Does knowing that this book actually matters, that it can actually terrify her father? She's seen him fight. He has never balked at anyone. Not even her mother. Never a whimper, no matter the scar. Yet he shakes at the mere sight of this book. Desperately Huáng looks to the only other person she can. Yang.
The bright sunny dragon of Vale. The fiercest warrior to ever grace the land. Her mother. Yang crosses the room with a speed Huáng doesn't even get to see when she watches the two of them train. She didn't even have time to blink and there was her mother. Gently holding Jaune in her arms. Her eyes pierce through Huáng. Had she done something wrong?
"I'm sorry." She starts to hide the book again but her father stops her. He pulls it out from under the covers carefully, as if their blankets could cut the book in half. He moves easily out of Yang's grasp and sits on the edge of the bed. His eyes were distant as they stare at the cover.
"What's wrong with the book mom."
"It's an old photo album."
"What's wrong with a photo album?"
"Nothing's wrong with it. It just holds some, precious memories." Her mother sits on the edge of the bed next to him. Her warm purple eyes still looking on at him.
"Why haven't I seen most of these photos?"
"They're old," As an after thought she adds, "hard to look at."
"Why?" Uncle Ren and Nora she new about. They weren't around anymore and that made dad sad. The photo album was filled with pictures of them, but her parents had never tried to hide the two of them from her before. In fact the only person that was in some of the photos she didn't recognize was the red-haired woman.
Letting out a sigh her mother bites her lip. She squeezes her eyes shut the way she always does when trying to answer Huáng's questions. "Because they're-"
"Is it because of the red haired lady?"
Yang looks to Jaune. She's nervous, hesitate, but he's smiling now. As if the bad cloud had finally moved from above his head.
"Her name was Pyrrha. She was an old friend. My first partner ever when I arrived at Beacon."
"I thought Ren and Nora were your first partners." If she was before them then why didn't her father ever talk about her?
He laughs. That was when Huáng knew the storm had passed completely. Her father was sad but it wasn't the bad kind of sad. Not the sort of sad Uncle Ren had been in her brief memories. Jaune closes the book and places it on the night stand next to the bed. He falls back onto the bed with a little oomf. Short strands of his yellow hair brushes against Huáng's pants. It tickles her legs just enough to make her laugh. Yang picks Huáng up. Her mother's arms were as strong as always. Being lifted felt like she was becoming weightless, even as it ends with a snug hug.
They fall back onto the bed next to her father. Poking her nose he smiles sadly before continuing. "We had teams of four. There were partners, like your aunts Ruby and Weiss, and your aunty Nora and uncle Ren." He stretches his hands up towards the ceiling. He holds up two fingers on either hand. "Two partners find each other and then they find another team of two. Then boom," he taps his hands against one another. He closes one hand and holds up four fingers on the other. "a whole team of four."
"Does that make sense my little phoenix?" Yang gives her cheeks a little pinch.
"Yeah."
"Great. Now next time you want to look through this book you have to ask first." Jaune pushes himself back up off of the bed.
"And we moved your presents out of the closest." Yang adds as she follows suit.
"Unfair!" Huáng crosses her arms and pouts. As her parents start to leave she realizes there was one more question she had. "So I get who the red haired lady was, but why was dad wearing a dress?"
Jaune's face turns tomato red. "Wait what?" Yang couldn't stop laughing to answer. "That photo is in there?"
Her mother holds her stomach as she struggles to speak. "It was a wonderful night. Would've bene a shamed if the best moment hadn't been preserved."
"I can't believe you didn't tell me you still had a copy of it."
"Oh don't feel too bad. My dad has some pictures of Uncle Qrow in a skirt from back in school."
"So where's the photo of you in your prom dress?" Her father was moving his arms around quickly. Yet despite all of his energetic talking Yang merely stood still and watched him with a pleasant smile.
"Destroyed. It was a boring dress anyways."
"Plain white dresses did seem like the theme that year."
Yang clicks her tongue and points her finger guns at him. "Exactly." They were lost in their own world. Huáng wasn't sure if that was entirely normal because she never saw anyone else get like that besides them, but her parents were always smiling during these little sessions of theirs. It wasn't like they were arguing, not really. It was surprising to hear that either let alone both of her parents had worn dresses at some point. Huáng had never seen either of them get dressed up in those kinds of clothes before. The photo may have been old but what would her father look like in one now?
She slides off the bed. Skipping across the room towards her parents who were now right outside the room in the hallway she smiles. Huáng raises her voice just enough so she would absolutely be heard. "So can we all wear dresses to my school meeting next week?"
Jaune and Yang look at their daughter surprised. Her mother smiles nervously at her dad. His own smile was much larger. "Of course sweetie."
With a sigh her mom rolls her eyes. "Guess we have to go dress shopping again."
"It'll be fun. Just the three of us! We'll get matching outfits!" He picks Huáng up and sets her on his shoulders. "How does that sound?"
"Perfect! I want a green one!"
"Green's not as boring as white."
Yang rolls her eyes and laughs. She was definitely looking forward to the shopping trip too. Her mom may never go out of her way to look pretty, but she always was. Maybe one day she'll be as tall and beautiful as her. Huáng hopes she will be.

Destinyverse - History of Magic and Tech
((If the text is too small, please right click and open both parts of the strip in a new tab to zoom in!))
*cries in world-building* Well then...for the first time, let's get into just a small piece of actual Destinyverse lore. I think that first panel alone gives away that there's a lot more to be known about this universe, but that information is for a later time. So! Beyond this point will be the finer details on the workings of rune enchantments and Sunset Shimmer's company, Uni-Tech~!
Info Under The Cut
Magic (cont.)
Magic exists all around. It is within every creature, the atmosphere, and more importantly, the earth itself. Granted passive magic, earth ponies were designed to tend to the earth, and pegasi the weather and the expansive skies. But unicorns were intended to utilize and protect the very knowledge and power of spellcasting.
At first unicorns kept their findings to themselves, but after the three pony tribes united, mages shared their household light enchantments and magic barriers with society. Over time, Princess Celestia and Luna came into power, and Nightmare Moon’s defeat brought about a millennium of peace. Technology developed, as did wind turbines and hydropower for electricity. Both ultimately contributed to the declining necessity of rune enchantments. Only some studied mages utilized the art sporadically (Twilight Sparkle when enchanting Tank’s helicopter. Starlight Glimmer when creating a vault to seal away cutie marks).
Unicorns also no longer had a dire need to study and utilize spells for their own safety. Growing comfortable in modern society over the years, the average unicorn now only tends to learn basic spells for everyday living like telekinesis and light. Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, however, continues to pass down knowledge to newer generations of young ponies, encouraging young colts and fillies to dive into the mysteries and wonder of magic through study. Only a hoofful of ponies have managed to truly hone their talents and go on to become knowledgeable and trained mages, such as Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer.
---------------------------------------------
Runes
While normal spellcasting is typically instantaneous, rune enchantments tend to be used for long-term purposes:
For spell usage over an extended period of time without a need for concentration (ie. Light spells)
For casting on specific items or areas (ie. enchanted relics, magic traps, energy barriers)
Rune-etchings are also often written to have a trigger, (ie. motion, pressure) which requires specific rune combinations to accomplish.
While convenient, the art of rune-etching and enchanting is complex and requires a steady mind to guide one's magic into making clean and precise carvings with a tool. It also requires the intellect to create the best rune combinations and formulas for the desired result.
Rune-etchings alone hold no power. The true power comes from the magical energy poured into them, which allows them to trigger and work as instructions for said magic. Unicorns need to concentrate and pour in magic for varied periods of time to enchant a spell into an item or area of choice. Unless a specific trigger is written into the runic spell formula to tell the runes when and how to react, rune-etchings will activate the moment they reach their full energy capacity, which differs depending on the complexity of the spell. The more extra magic that is enchanted and stored into runes, the more energy the runes will have for multiple uses. Alternatively, a spell will have more time to stay active in one usage.
Ancient relics created by olden wizards are known for carrying powerful spells. It's been hypothesized that such high-magical artifacts were either enchanted by multiple wizards or by one wizard over the course of months.
If the magic within rune-etchings completely expends, it can be recharged periodically by a unicorn or with long concentration to store up magical energy. This tends to be dependent on the strength and complexity of the spell and the spell usage required by the user.

Uni-Tech
The rise in technology in modern-day Equestria really began with Sunset Shimmer's return to her homeland. After refreshing herself on her magical studies in an effort to rediscover her purpose, the mare found herself missing the modern tech back in the alternate human universe. As someone who dabbled in multiple fields, from music to art to science, Sunset decided to try a hoof in contributing to what she felt were the beginnings of a tech evolution in Equestria. Using human builds as inspiration, Sunset helped introduce the first equestrian digital cameras, monitors, and computers. These creations first aided medical and scientific fields, but were quickly picked up by more creative fields. Seeing this, and by pushing festering ideas in the right direction, Sunset was able to inspire other creative minds. She helped encourage the creation of animated and live-action movies, shows, and major advancements in the videogame industry (to her utter nerdy delight). On the flip side, Sunset has also very meticulously worked to keep other human inventions away from Equestria. Through her experiences, she has come to hold one solid belief; just because one can, doesn't mean one should.
While she felt she was on the right path, Sunset believed there was more she could offer. A missing piece. Observation led her to notice a rise in the cost of electricity with the increase of household appliances and electronics. Her mind began churning through ideas of energy-efficiency, convenience, and - through personal-experience once upon a time - availability and affordability for families who were not so well-off. Deep down, Sunset knew incorporating magic would be the way to go. Recalling her old studies on the history of runic spell enchantments from her filly days, Sunset picked up old books, drew up blueprints for her ideas, and approached Twilight for further wisdom.
Twilight provided the knowledge of rune-etching and worked with Sunset to think up different spells for her ideas. Having never attempted rune-etching before, Twilight offered her friends lessons. For Sunset, who once had fiddled around with different spells and potions under Celestia's tutelage, carving runes had been a new and exciting experience. It took practice, but weeks of effort had the craft feeling almost natural for the mare.
If ancient artifacts from eras long past had proven anything, different natural materials such as metals and even gems possessed inherent magical properties that were especially reactive to magical interaction. Aiming to understand which materials could hold and even enhance spell enchantments best, both Sunset and Twilight dove into their experimentation. The two gathered a small group of practiced unicorns who had tampered with rune-etching before for their research team, including Starlight Glimmer, Sunburst, and Moondancer. As they researched the best materials for Sunset's tech inventions and improvements, Sunset found herself naming their little team "Uni-Tech", the beginning stages of magitech in Equestria.
Prototypes followed. However, realizing the runes in their tech could only be powered by a unicorn's magic, Sunset and Twilight were momentarily stumped on how non-magical creatures would be able to recharge runes without aid. Sunset recognized the lack in convenience, however, a new discovery quickly came to them. As traces of magic exist in nearly everything within their world, Sunset discovered that the small amounts of magic within the very electricity that powered their tech created a unique reaction with the magic components in their metal builds. Alongside electricity powering their machines, the reaction created a steady build-up of magical energy for the added runes.
The discovery worked well with machines and tech-powered via cord to electrical socket. Even when unplugged, a machine’s runes would still hold the built-up magic it had stored previously until plugged back in again and used. Upon initial installation, the machine simply required to be plugged in for a number of hours for the initial storing of magic.
The Uni-Tech team grew with the need for professional engineers to finalize their builds and mass-produce products. And thus, Uni-Tech took off, greatly contributing to the booming era of technology with the union of magic and electronics. A facility for Uni-Tech was built not far from Twilight's own castle, and in time, they even developed a secondary location in Canterlot, overseen by Moondancer.
With the correct metals and the positive reactions to magic, Sunset was happy to observe the resulting amplification of power for her runic spells. This meant an increase in power output and a decrease in actual electricity usage in the long run. However, when it came to the concept of developing and improving portable devices (ie. laptops, handheld consoles), Sunset and Twilight ran into an issue. Even if made rechargeable, once a device's magical energy was spent, there was a huge inconvenience in the slow, gradual trickle of charging magic that would lead to far too many hours of waiting to even utilize the magical aspects of a device.
Thankfully a ground-breaking discovery was uncovered; information on elemental runes that had been lost to time was regained by chance. As it turned out, elemental arcane runes were unique in how they consumed the energy of their respective element when in proximity of it. More specifically, they converted this energy into magical energy. In old books, ancient ponies recalled attempting to build fires in uncharted areas, only for their fire to suddenly be snuffed out, followed by an explosion of flames from an undiscerned source. Hidden traps or forgotten runes, Sunset and Twilight had settled. In Sunset's case, electricity runes, when introduced to a steady source of electricity, could quickly charge up with magical and electrical energy.
That single discovery lead to the creation of the magi-battery. The magi-battery not only charged up devices with electricity, but with the correct rune formulas, allowed other spell runes to draw from its storage of magic. It proved to be fast-charging, powerful, efficient, environmental-friendly, and overall revolutionary to their efforts. Because of its huge success during its initial launch, Uni-Tech is now a supplier for companies in Canterlot and beyond.
Sunset continues to lead projects with her company to this day. With new ideas, she often works with Twilight to refine and brainstorm possible spell enchantments. Though they founded the company together, Sunset Shimmer is the true CEO of Uni-Tech, with Twilight assisting when she isn't busy with her own duties.
Uni-Tech inventions include and are not limited to:
Fireplaces lit by unique fire runes, fueled by electrical power. Fire behaves more like magic fire than real fire, thus heating the room without the need of a chimney for smoke release. Low maintenance, provides the experience of a real fireplace, and reduces air pollution. The addition of a gem (thanks to Astral Dusk’s research) allows runes to store more energy for usage if the power were to go out.
Microwaves using fire glyphs formulated for heat radiation as opposed to actual fire. Proven to provide better-balanced heating overall.
Light runes in ceilings, which lessen the need for disposable light bulbs. Easy to control dimming.
Shower installation of tankless water heaters, using water and fire-heating runes. Water runes transfer water directly from a reservoir and expel it, lessening the worry of pipe bursts. Instant and consistent warm showers, even in black-outs.
Security cameras that possess a complex spell that magically records, making recordings not as easy to alter or delete.
This universe's Luster Dawn, who I'm nearly convinced is probably Starlight and Sunburst's kiddo, started working for Uni-Tech as a young and talented intern and has continued to work as a valued member of the company!
For clarification; while Astral Dusk's gem research aids his mother's company, he's technically not a worker for Uni-Tech and is generally just a royal scientist serving Princess Twilight alongside Sunset Shimmer.

Top 5 Common CCTV Problems and How to Fix Them
1. Verify Camera Connection and Power
Sometimes, an issue might be as simple as a cut wire, or it could be because the network is now down. Internet protocol (IP) systems typically have LED indicators for transferring data to the network, but they might be hidden within the camera.
If the camera’s LEDs do not illuminate, verify that it is powered outside (plugged into the wall). If your camera is powered by electricity rather than a battery, ensure that it is getting the correct wattage. A pan-tilt-zoom camera will need more watts than a standard socket can provide.
2. Discover and Ping the Camera
If you want to check the camera's IP address, all you need to do is look in the camera's directory. Once you've found the address, you can "ping" it on your laptop or mobile device to see what kind of connection you have.
When you input "cmd" into the Windows search engine, a DOS command prompt should appear. Once this window appears, you will be asked to enter "ping" and an IP address.
If you're seeing either 'Request Time Out' or 'Destination Host Unreachable' on your screen, verify that the device you're using is connected to the same network as your camera. If the camera is visible on the network, try connecting using a web browser.
3. Know Username and Password
If you can't seem to connect to your CCTV, it may be because you entered an incorrect username or password. If that's the case, be sure to check the handbook for troubleshooting assistance.
4. Check ARP Tables
If you have multiple cameras, you must ensure that each one has a unique IP address. Otherwise, you will not be able to view any of the footage.
5. Confirm there is no IP conflict
If you have multiple cameras, you must ensure that they have unique IP addresses; otherwise, you may be unable to view any or all of them.
Some Things to Do To Ensure Proper CCTV Function
Update your camera's software regularly to ensure it is up to date. You can do this by linking to your camera's web page from the VMS system.
If your camera isn't working properly, the first thing you should try is rebooting it. Sometimes all it takes is turning the device off for 10-20 seconds and then restarting it. This simple fix could save you a lot of time and frustration.
Check the cords to see if they're the source of the problem. Ensure that the connectors are straight and unbroken, as kinks or frayed cables may be causing the issue.

Replacing screen on screen dooer

#Replacing screen on screen dooer how to#
Neatly divided into 3 minute segments, which is presumably something to do with the maximum file size of the card, as it’s formatted in some form of MS-DOS FAT filesystem, although oddly not one that will directly mount under macOS as-when it’s removed from the camera and plugged directly into my laptop-it doesn’t mount at all. Plugging one end into the charger, when it’s not plugged into the wall, and the other into your laptop, the SD Card will mount as an external drive and any footage that the camera has recorded will be on it. The way you get the footage off the camera is using a USB-A to USB-A male-to-male lead. The small chip just to the left of the SD Card slot is a 25D40BTIG, a serial flash chip, which is presumably used for buffering footage onto the SD Card. The included micro SD Card has a capacity of 32GB, and with that capacity it could well account for a quarter of the bill of materials cost. I’m not quite sure I’d plug it in again, even if I had any use for a hidden camera. Every project is made a whole lot easier when youre fully prepared. Which probably explains why the camera gets so hot during use. It’s also bulging rather alarmingly at this point, after a couple of hours usage. My bet is that it’s there to make sure any footage in memory is saved to the SD Card and all the files are properly closed after you unplug the camera from its wall socket. Here is a step-by-step tutorial of how to re-screen a StowAway Retractable Screen Door. It’s less than half the size of the small 140 mAh ones I do have on hand, so I’m guessing it’s perhaps 60 mAh at best. The LiPo battery connected to the board is tiny, I don’t have one that small in my parts drawer.

Office Hours P10
So this chapter got long, I’m sorry. Tagging @irisphryneadler @ifthingsgetcrazy @kindaresilient & @shiningalec .Though feel free to read or not read. Read on ao3. Or start at the beginning.
“Alexander,” Jace butchers his impersonation of Magnus, then snorts with laughter. In Alec’s opinion, it’s not all that funny. Jace just points at Alec and directs his next words at Izzy. Thankfully, he’s using his normal voice this time. “You should’ve seen his face. He’s got such a hard-on for Professor Bane.”
Okay, Alec and the Universe really need to have words because what does it have against him? Seriously. What did he do to deserve this? Why does it keep teasing him? It gives him the illusion of something wonderful, like seeing Magnus in that coffee shop. Then it shatters it by having the worst possible person be there at the same time - Jace. The universe is on a crazy winning streak and Alec’s lost count of the score at this point. It’s probably the Universe one million and Alec’s still on nil.
“I do not,” Alec denies, and he’s annoyed by the petulant tone of his voice.
It’s not a lie. He hasn’t got a hard-on for Magnus. Well, not right now anyway. Though, there’s an 83% chance that if Jace says that again he might. When it comes to Magnus Bane, he’s in a perpetual state of turned on.
“You do too!” Isabelle chirps in and there’s a delighted smirk on her lips. “You religiously have to go to those office hours. It’s all adding up now... I should’ve put this together sooner.”
Now Izzy is turning on Alec too? Surely someone should have his back? He can’t believe he actually thought living with his siblings was a good idea. He really needs to reevaluate his life choices.
“I don’t… I don’t have to go.”
He does though. Alec can’t even think about not going. Except, now he is thinking about it. His stomach churns with dread, and for a moment he feels physically sick. He’s felt despondent all week because Magnus had to cancel for that funeral. To go another week without laying his eyes on Magnus Bane, without hearing his melodic voice, that doesn’t feel possible. Maybe it’s dramatic, but Alec’s pretty sure he won’t survive it.
From across the room, Izzy throws a pillow at Alec. It hits him square in the face and jolts him out of his daydream.
“Real convincing,” she says, voice heavy with sarcasm.
Alec launches the pillow back at her. She ducks, he misses, and she sticks her tongue out at him. Can he exchange siblings? Is there a category on craigslist for that?
“It’s true.” Alec tries to keep his voice level and at the same time fill it with conviction, but not too much, else it won’t be believable. He knows any hint of doubt and the two of them will latch on to it. Has he ever carefully constructed the speech of two words like this before? “I don’t have a thing for Magnus, and I don’t have to go to his stupid office hours.”
Please let the Universe not be listening, they’re already on tentative terms as it is. He curses his word choice. Stupid. That hour is anything but stupid. It’s his favourite part of the week and he has to go. He really has to go.
“Magnus?” Jace says.
Shit.
Alec just used his first name, didn’t he? Just when he thinks this can’t get any worse, it does. He should have left the room as soon as this subject came up, but it’s too late now.
There’s a wicked gleam in Jace’s eye as he turns to Isabelle. “They’re on a first name basis now.”
“I smell a rumour brewing.” The gleam is mirrored on Izzy’s face and, dear God, this is terrifying. The two of them cannot conspire against him like this. Is this really the thanks he gets for mediating a truce between them after the never-to-be-mentioned-again washing machine incident? Next time he’ll just let them fight to the death about it. He can’t believe he helped them make up, just to have them both turn on him like this.
“No. Jesus, don’t. There’s… nothing. He tells all his students to call him Magnus.”
Does he though? Has Alec ever heard anyone else in class call Magnus that? No, he’s pretty sure everyone calls him Professor Bane. Still, that doesn’t mean Magnus didn’t tell them to call him by his first name. That must be what happened, and no one took him up on it. Alec only did because he was so infatuated with Magnus that he enjoyed that connection, enjoyed forgetting for a while that Magnus was his Professor.
Alec eyes his siblings. They won’t actually start a rumour that he has the hots for his professor. They wouldn’t. But this is blackmail material that they will hold over his head forever.
“You’ve got it all wrong.” Alec needs to get through to them. He cannot have them teasing him about this for the next... well, they don’t actually set time limits on teasing in this family. So, for eternity then.
“Fine… then don’t go.”
Alec’s eyes snap to Izzy’s. She didn’t? She’s not suggesting what he thinks she is.
“What?” Is that panic in his voice? It is, he knows it is, but he tries to downplay it.
“Don’t go to his office hours,” Izzy clarifies.
“I-” Alec flounders for an answer, his chest rapidly rising and falling.
“Knew it! He’s got it bad.” Jace sounds far too triumphant about the whole thing. Why are they both taking such pleasure in this?
Alec takes a deep breath and tries to decide what’s worse: missing an hour with Magnus, or his siblings teasing him for life. It’s a tough call to be honest, but eventually he settles on a decision.
“Fine. I won’t go.”
It physically hurts him to say that, though.
-
Alec sits in his secluded seat, concealed between shelves of books. This is his go-to studying spot. It’s a hidden gem he found in first year and, thankfully, it’s remained hidden, known only to him and a select few. It houses a section of dictionaries and encyclopedias and Alec had gotten turned about and ended up in the section by chance.
It’s the perfect spot. It’s quiet, as libraries should be but this one rarely is. It has one of the mythical plug sockets and he often hides books he needs in the stacks here because they’re so rarely checked on.
Maia sits across from him, ready to discuss their current text if he needs to.
It’s the perfect atmosphere to study, but Alec can’t focus. He reads the same line three times before giving into his thoughts.
Is this what standing up a date feels like?
He feels queasy at that thought, his stomach is tied in knots, and his fingers tap the tabletop nervously. Alec tries to concentrate on the page but the words just seem to swim in front of him and lose all meaning. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he takes a deep breath and tries to find some calm. The quiet should be helping, but it only seems to fuel his mind into wandering where he desperately doesn’t want it to go.
Magnus won’t notice, right? He won’t miss Alec’s presence. It’s not like he’s sitting there just waiting for Alec to show up, but Alec thinks back to their meeting yesterday morning, to the words Magnus left him with.
“I’ll see you tomorrow? You can ask me then?”
Alec agreed, which means Magnus is expecting him. Fuck. Maybe Magnus didn’t really mean it, he was probably just being polite and thinking of an excuse to leave. Perhaps Magnus is happy to get rid of Alec for a while. Maybe he’s glad he doesn’t have Alec taking up all his time, he can grade papers or write his lectures in peace.
“Well you’re just a ray of sunshine today,” Maia tells him. She motions down to his hand and the pencil he’s holding. It’s now in two pieces. “What did that ever do to you?”
“It’s nothing,” Alec says, and that’s not the answer to the question she asked.
Maia sits up straighter, narrowing her eyes in assessment, before asking, “What’s the matter?”
And, well, isn’t that a question. Alec shifts in his seat a little. He’s never discussed Magnus with Maia, hell, he’s never really discussed Magnus with anyone. Considering for a moment though, he thinks that out of everyone he knows, Maia’s the least likely to tease him about it.
Taking a chance, he says, “I’ve got a crush on my history professor.”
“That’s not exactly news, Alec.”
What? Maia just smiles sympathetically at him, but there’s no surprise in her expression. She knew? Fuck, who else knows? Oh, God. Does Magnus know? He does, doesn’t he? Alec must have been really obvious about the whole thing. Magnus probably has a good laugh about the student who’s infatuated with him. Or maybe he hates it. Maybe he’s only dealing with Alec because it’s his job. Wait, of course he’s only dealing with Alec because it’s his job.
“What are you doing here anyway? Aren’t you usually at the office hours for that course now?” Maia asks, unaware of Alec’s inner turmoil.
For fuck’s sake, does everyone know Alec’s schedule? And yes, yes he usually is. Not that he’s painfully aware of the fact the Magnus is there, has been for eleven minutes now, and Alec’s not. He’s not agonising over that or anything.
“I can’t go.”
“Why not?”
“I have to convince Izzy and Jace that I haven’t got a thing for Magnus.”
Maia’s eyebrow raises and Alec’s unsure as to whether it’s because he just used Magnus’ first name (he really needs to stop doing that around people other than Magnus), or because she apparently has been aware of how much of a thing he’s got for Magnus. Or perhaps it’s both.
“I’m not sure why you think you have to do that, Alec. But look around.”
Alec does, not sure what she’s getting at.
With a conspirative twinkle in her eye she leans forward and in a low voice says, “Neither of them are here. How will they know if you did or didn’t go?”
Oh. Oh. That’s a fantastic idea. Though, Alec doesn’t know if he can keep this from them. He can lie, he’s a perfectly capable liar, but Izzy has a sixth sense for these things.
Maia lifts her phone and he hears the telltale snap of the camera. She taps a few times, puts down her phone, and his lights up on the table in front of him.
“There. Now you even have proof.”
Alec considers it. He can sit here and be miserable or he can just go and finally ask those questions about that thesis.
“Plus, I promise to be your alibi.”
Okay, Alec doesn’t know what he did to deserve a friend like Maia, but at this moment he’s never been more thankful for her.
Alec pushes back from the table and hurriedly stuffs his things into his bag.
“I’m gonna…” he trails off, moving away from the table.
Maia just chuckles. He’s sure he hears a “boy, he’s got it bad” as he walks away, but he chooses to ignore it.
-
“Alexander,” Magnus says in surprise as Alec rushes into his office.
Alec’s breath heaves, he maybe sprinted from the library to get here. He’d deny it, but he’s pretty sure a multitude of people saw. Then his breath just kind of catches because fuck, that smile, the one that almost splits Magnus’ face in two is fully directed at him. Was he really going to miss this? How could he even consider that?
“I thought I wouldn’t see you today,” Magnus continues and Alec’s sure he hears insecurity in Magnus’ voice, sure it trembles just slightly on the words and that the inflection is all wrong. That can’t be right though, Alec’s just feeling lightheaded from that run and reading into things that aren’t there. He’s projecting his own feelings onto Magnus.
As he catches his breath he says, “Sorry, I got caught up at the library.”
That’s not entirely a lie.
“Take a seat,” Manus gestures. “These office hours aren’t mandatory, Alec. I’ve said that before, right?”
“Yeah,” Alec mumbles as he pulls the door closed behind him before walking over to the empty chair.
It feels like an eternity since he was last here in this room. Has it really only been two weeks? It must be longer.
Magnus stands and Alec’s eyes trail up over the black fabric of his silk shirt, to the long line of his throat, and finally to that gorgeous face. Alec’s reminded of how tall Magnus is. At his full height, they only differ by a few inches and Alec loves that. It means when they stand next to each other, as they had in that coffee shop, their eyes, their mouths line up. It makes Alec realise how easy it would be to just lean forward and press their lips together. Unfortunately, that’s an experience that Alec is cursed to only ever dream about.
The scrape of a chair being dragged across the floor brings Alec back to himself and he watches as Magnus moves to sit next to him. Alec shouldn’t enjoy this so much, but he just can’t help himself. Magnus sitting next to him is purely to help point things out and ease their discussion, but Alec enjoys being so close that the heat of Magnus’ body radiates across the short distance between them.
Magnus’ knee bumps against Alec’s as he sits, it’s an accidental touch, but Alec savours it and knows he’ll think about that long after he’s left.
Leaning forward, Magnus reaches for a document on his desk and his shirt strains around muscles that tighten from exertion and Alec’s throat goes dry. Alec could help, he should help, he’s closer to the desk after all, but he’s frozen in place and honestly, he hopes that movement never ends.
Alec’s noticed a lot about Magnus, but he’s not sure he’s ever fully appreciated those very defined biceps. He’s appreciating them now. Oh, boy, is he appreciating them. Fuck, but all he can think about is the strength that comes with muscles like those and just like that Alec’s brain produces a new fantasy for this office - he didn’t even realise new ones could exist.
His mind produces an image of himself pinned against the bookcase, of Magnus lifting him, pressing their bodies close, so fucking close together. Alec audibly gulps and strategically places an arm across his groin.
It would probably be uncomfortable, right? Those shelves would no doubt dig into his back, but Alec is more than willing to find out just how uncomfortable it would be. For science, of course.
“Good week?” Magnus asks, and Alec has to really think about those words before he can even process them. “Well since I saw you yesterday,” Magnus adds with a chuckle which really isn’t helping Alec right now.
Does Magnus have any idea how that sound just melts him? How his whole body just sort of sighs when he hears it? How can Alec be expected to even think about forming a response?
“It’s been great,” is what Alec finally says. Well, if he forgets that fact that he’s been endlessly teased by his siblings, that they then convinced him he needed to prove how not into Magnus he was, and that for twelve whole minutes he’d tried. But none of that seems to matter now that he’s sitting here. There’s something about Magnus that just draws Alec in. How can he ever stay away?
Then a terrible thought strikes him.
What happens when this course is over?
Fuck. What week are they even on? Through his panic, Alec mentally calculates how many weeks have gone by. There was the week Magnus got those red highlights (he’s still not over that colour; he gets half-hard every time he sees something in that exact shade). Then there were those trousers, the glasses, the coffee, the first time he came here, that goddamn apple… Alec gets so caught up in the memories that he forgets to count.
Twelve. He eventually settles on. It’s been twelve weeks and, fuck, that means there are only two more weeks and then finals. He doesn’t really give a shit that he only just realised finals are right around the corner. He’s more concerned with the fact that in two weeks time this course will be finished.
And then what?
Nothing?
Oh, God. Alec will never see Magnus again.
It’s a good job Alec’s sitting because that thought alone is enough to bring him to his knees.
Alec’s intelligent and not in the way that mother’s often overexaggerate. He’s bright and he picks things up quickly. So how, he wonders, did he manage to miss this? It’s as if, around Magnus, all of his brain cells just stop working. Wait… is Magnus Alec’s kryptonite?
That thought leads Alec down the trail of which type of kryptonite. He’s just settling on red because of that personality alteration (Although, it can’t really be red because then he’d be immune to Magnus after that first meeting), when Magnus speaks.
“I marked your quiz from last week.”
Oh, so that’s what the paper that Magnus was reaching for was. Alec might have been just slightly distracted at the time. He looks down, and okay, there’s hardly any red pen which is fantastic.
“It was fantastic,” Magnus tells him.
Magnus agrees? Alec tries to tell himself it’s just a coincidence they made the same word choice, it is not a clear signal of their compatibility.
It takes five whole minutes to talk through the paper, just five. It had taken about fifty with that first one. It just shows what Alec can do without a tall, dark (with pink streaks), and handsome distraction. Pride spreads through him with each section Magnus points to and praises Alec for.
“I guess my work here is done.” Magnus smiles, but it doesn’t reach his eyes.
Done? They can’t be done. There are two weeks left, two weeks for Alec to prepare himself for life without Magnus. Why in the hell did he think acing that test was a good idea?
“Your thesis,” Alec blurts, then wants to slam his head on the desk. Repeatedly. Could he for once, please, just have some modicum of smoothness around Magnus Bane. Would that really be too much to ask?
“I mean-” Alec continues and reaches for his bag, then stalls. Maybe showing Magnus the post-it note strewn thesis isn’t his best idea. Smooth, he reminds himself. “I wanted to talk to you about it. I had… um, some questions.”
“Yeah?”
Magnus sounds surprised, but didn’t Alec explain that he wanted to talk about this yesterday? Oh fuck, did he not make that clear? He’s certain he did.
“Yeah. I mean, the way you made comparisons between persecution through different eras even including present day, and how really there isn’t that much difference. Like, sure the subject, the people are different and based on the beliefs of the time, but, you mentioned - which I loved - that we’re essentially just presented with information, albeit in a different format these days. No heralds making announcements, right? Although, is there a paper called The Herald. But like, what I mean is that society has always been, like, fed what to believe and I just… I don’t think I’d put that together before in my mind, but you brought it all together so well and-”
“Alec, breathe,” Magnus interrupts, shaking his head at Alec, a fond smile on his lips.
And Alec does. Then he clamps his mouth shut. Fuckfuckfuck. This wasn’t supposed to happen like this. He’d colour coded the text for God’s sake, for this exact reason. It’s just, the thoughts and the questions and the sheer excitement to discuss this with Magnus have been bottled up inside of him for over a week. Still, he’s not entirely sure where that word vomit just came from. It’s not like him. Though, everything he does around Magnus doesn’t feel like him.
“Give me one thing,” Magnus says. “You can choose just one thing from the whole text to talk about. What is it?”
Well, wow, that’s an amazing question. That’s a downright mean question and Alec thinks it might be damn near impossible. He looks away from Magnus, he needs to focus after all, and he tries to sort through his thoughts and ideas.
That one.
“I think… I found it interesting, the way you suggest that things we now take to be fact were probably once seen to have occult properties. Like... gravity for example.”
Magnus’ hand is resting on his chin, and he’s looking at Alec, and he just doesn’t say anything. Alec wants to squirm in his seat. He fucked this up again, didn’t he? Why does he always manage to say the wrong thing? He should have never brought the goddamn thesis up.
“That’s one of my favourite things,” Magnus eventually says, and his voice is soft and quiet and Alec thinks he hasn’t heard him right. “Persecution is often seen most in the areas where a society lacks understanding. It’s often a fundamental part of humanity, to fear what we don’t understand. It’s how that fear is dealt with though, some lash out, some attack… as a form of self-defence. The occult is sometimes described as the study of a deeper spiritual reality… one that extends beyond pure reason. You can see how those two things might begin to overlap.
“Throughout history we see persecution, it’s only who is persecuted or the reason beyond it that changes. In the case we’re discussing here we’ll stay within this realm of the occult. Something we take for fact today, be it because science has proved it so or some other reason… you and I could have been ostracised or prosecuted for centuries ago. Merely for seeing something the rest of the world is yet to understand.”
Alec gets lost in Magnus’ voice as he speaks, in the rhythm of it. Alec absorbs each word, formulates questions to ask and somehow they devolve into a discussion.
Magnus talks with his hands, the metal of his rings glinting with each movement, and the more passionate about something he becomes, the faster the movements, the more intricately they dance through the air.
Alec loses all sense of time. That is, until a beeping comes from Magnus’ pocket.
“Sorry,” Magnus says and he pulls his phone from his trousers. “Ah, I guess our time’s up.”
Alec looks at Magnus quizzically, then he realises Magnus is telling him he should leave.
“You have another lecture, right?” Magnus asks, but doesn’t wait for an answer. “I didn’t want our conversation to have you missing another one. Like last time.” He gestures at his phone. “So, I set an alarm.”
Alec’s lost for words. Genuinely lost for words. He tells himself not to read into it, he really does, but when Magnus keeps doing thoughtful things like this it becomes increasingly difficult to do so. Magnus is just a decent human being, Alec reminds himself, that’s all.
“Thanks,” Alec says. Though he’s pretty far from thankful. He can blow off a lecture, he can blow off all of his lectures just to talk to Magnus.
They both stand and now Magnus is blocking Alec’s path to the door. Alec shifts his bag on his shoulder and moves to the left just as Magnus moves in the same direction. Magnus moves back to the other side and Alec does too. They dance back and forth until Alec clasps a hand to Magnus’ arm to steady them both. Alec would laugh, but, when Magnus’ eyes drift to where the hand is resting, it gets caught in his throat. Hastily he draws his hand back, though his palm feels like it’s on fire. Just like his cheeks.
“I can… I can send you some books to read,” Magnus says and he stumbles over the words. “If you’re still interested.”
Something just changed. Alec doesn’t know what or why, but there’s something different between them. The air feels charged with potential, Alec’s skin prickles with it, and that doesn’t make any sense.
“Yeah,” he says.
“I’ll email you.”
“Sure, that would be great.”
They still don’t move. They’re both just standing there looking at each other.
Then Magnus blinks, clears his throat and steps to the side.
It isn’t until Alec’s sitting in his next lecture that he realises that the tension, the thing that had changed, well it felt exactly like in that coffee shop yesterday morning. He has no idea what that means.
So a few people have mentioned getting some Magnus POV. It was my idea to write all of this from Magnus' side and that's in the works. I guess the thing is where you would all like that to fit. Perhaps the end of this semester?
Okay part 11 is here
