See, I 100% believe Jon Bois when he claims he'd never heard of Homestuck prior to writing 17776, and it's totally plausible to me that what similarities exist between JUICE and Dave Strider are purely a product of the fact that they're both affectionately parodying the same extremely specific Type of Guy, but it still fascinates me that both authors were so personally acquainted with that Type of Guy.

I've always been vaguely aware that John's battle anthem, "Heir Conditioning", is blatantly name-checking some Touhou soundtrack or other, but I just looked up exactly which Touhou track it's referencing, and... well, given that the person who wrote "Heir Conditioning" did so way back in 2011, all I can say is that's one hell of a called shot.
