Nine..."Ship" Songs

Tagged by the ever so lovely @ghostoffuturespast who is so patient with me as I get through my tagged backlogs thank you as always for thinking of me ❤️❤️

I put "ship" in a very loose sense because my V and Johnny's relationship is platonic and it really does show in a lot of the songs that I think represent my take on SilverV-- a lot of songs about hate and anger but still managing to find the twisted parts of love even through it, and a lot more focused on a vague sense of devotion rather than explicit love. That being said, I do really like my selections for these two and had some struggles narrowing it down...I had a lot to choose from lol.

I'm a little late to the party on this one. Is there anyone that hasn't been tagged and wants to do it? Please feel free if so!

Heavy Is The Crown by Linkin Park // this is what you asked for, heavy is the crown, fire in the sunrise, ashes raining down, try to hold it in but it keeps bleeding out, this is what you asked for, heavy is the, heavy is the crown (this song was in Arcane and I rotated it in my mind for a hot minute thinking about how Viktor deserved to get worse on purpose and then I was like wait... that's just Scorpius)

Nemesis by Shriekback // big black nemesis, parthenogenesis, no one move a muscle as the dead come home (to be honest this is just my favorite song they play at my local goth night but i put it on this playlist months ago and it just lives there now)

This is hard because my music is a mess and my 'favorites' change like, hourly 😅

These are in no particular ranked order. I pretty much just grabbed whatever I have in my ON Repeat Playlist at the moment to make this a bit easier lol

1.

This one gets played in the car a lot and also at work because it perks me up just enough without over hyping me. (2am dance party in the office with few witnesses is one way to work at least lol)

2.

Listen someone posted here that this is an amazing Solavellen song and I agree 1000%. Also one of the songs I have been consistently listening to when I syart writing because it has that daydreamy feeling to it. Also Morgan Clae has FANTASTIC epic-style music, including covers. Highly recommended if you're looking for some new jams to write to.

3.

I listen to this a lot. It's a perfect like... Getting Ready song. Also Jojo had me singing about a broken heart at like 10. One of those song where you put your heels on and walk around thinking about murder.

4.

Hard to pick just one song by Iniko, they just have such a good vibe to their music! This song and Jericho I listen to a lot when I'm writing or in the car or just vibing.

5.

Sometimes I like to pretend I'm the final girl in a thriller/slasher movie and I listen to this when I do (whole album to be fair! Which does have a song titled Final girl lol).

Nine Lives (Rugan/Tav, BG3, explicit): AO3 link

I have a lot of silly feelings about this fic + its prequel. Waaay too many and far too shameless to put in the end notes on AO3. Consider this the dvd commentary for anyone who would like to listen to my rambling.

I. the working title

This fic was originally supposed to be called amor fati ("love of one's fate"), and Nine Lives to be the overall series name. I nixed it because two Latin titles back-to-back would have been too confusing.

Writers always put a little bit of themselves into their work. Tav and Rugan in this story both have a bit of my younger self in them. I'm glad I got to give them a hopeful ending :)
