heyyy so ill share my marauders hcnons on their nationalities because its some that i dont see often and i wanna share them ykyk

So lets start with james who is very obviously greek from his mom's (Effie / Euphemia is a greek name and like she has that greek personality and i think she loves cooking deserts and taking care of james and monty but also lowk strict, begged james to take a jacket with him and treated monty like her own child.) and i am not 100% sure but the name james i think translates to greek im not sure though. now he is also half brazilian from Monty's side, from Rio and i think he liked the carnival and danced and played football. (i think monty and james would be such football fans and Effie is like "Apapapapapa football, eh not for me" But she is in front of the screen whenever Olympiakos plays). Also i feel like Monty would be a chill guy, in Chemises (idk if thats a word in english but in french its chemise) and would he very fun to be around at parties. obviously james speaks both greek and Portuguese

Sirius Black is french and filipino. i love the asian black brother headcannon and i think they would be filipino, he had grown up in Marseille and moved to Manila when he was younger before hogwarts. and i think when he went to the Potters home in Greece, he would have learnt greek very well and go out at nights , in Athens, with james and then they would smoke there and have fun. He would speak French, Tagalog, English, greek (not fluently but like b2 level) and latin. and he would love football (psg)

Okay hear me out. Ukrainian-welsh Remus Lupin. Idk he gives me the ukrainian vibe , and obviously he is welsh and i don't have much to say (mostly because i dont know a lot about those countries) about that except that he would love ukrainian culture and music. I get the eastern European vibes from him tbh!! He would speak ukrainian, welsh and english. (forgot yo add he would grow up in a small villagw in wales and be neighbors with lily)

peter is Swiss. he grew up in the Alps and had a little house like Heidi (tot didn't get inspo from there. He speaks German (swiss german) , and english. and i think he would be surely really fond of nature.

Regulus black. is sirius brother. As we know he is half french and half filipino. i think because of james he would learn greek and adore greek mythology. regulus would speak latin, tagalog, french,italian, spanish, english, german and russian

Lily Evans the icon you are. she is irish and welsh, speaks both languages and teaching them yo younger people so they wont be dead languages. She grew up along with remus in the small village in wales and thats how she picked up a bit of ukrainian.!!

Marlene McKinnon. Marlene are a Polish-German Person and thats the reason they hated history class especially 1950s history.(i hc Marlene as non binary thats why i way they/them) They speak german and polish and english and i think they would have a bonding hour with Remus over their eastern European grandmas

Mary McDonald. Mary is an icon. i dont know if i Have to say otherwise. Mary is Half Jamaican, half Egyptian. ( i never see arab hcnons on marauders) she speaks arabic, and english. she grew up in Cairo and went holidays in Jamaica. She would absolutely dress as Cleopatra every Halloween and james would say "MY MOM SAID CLEOPATRA WAS GREEK" and they would argue every yearl

Barty crouch jr, is italian - russian. He is a slavic guy ane no one can convince me otherwise. He would eat pasta every day and curse in italian whenever someone put pineapple on pizza (disgusting really). And he would absolutely love visiting Italy ( Venice) every summer.

evan rosier the man you are... evan is greek and serbian he loves servia and the balkans and his Grandma and he loves nostalgic movies. And he would also be in the eastern European bonding hour with Marlene and Remus. he would speak greek and serbian (although i do like to hc evan as hoh so we'll add greek and serbian sign language there)

Pandora rosierrr - panda is the twin sister or evan and she is also ofc greek -serbian and she loves the serbian side of the family more because panda is such a nature girly. i could see her as a fairy and ahe has that fairycore outfits. and greek side i could imagine her as a mermaid every summer in the Dodecanese islands she also speaks greek and serbian, and both sign languages for evan.

dorcasssss meadowes. dorcas is an iconnnnn she is from cameroon and would totally flex that to everyone she meetssss. She would ofc braid her hair and dance traditional cameroonish dances. she didnt grow up in cameroon so she didnt pick up the language butttt she would try to learn it.

Signe/476I88X21 is fairly resourceful — they have to be, belonging to the Elites, the highly revered soldiers at the head of Eden Inc. But in the same note they’re very rigid and sheltered (at least to the outside world), because of their upbringing in Eden. If they were to escape leave Eden, they probably wouldn’t actually understand how to survive.

Crow’s birth name (also deadname) was obviously not Crow. But he chose it for himself just around the time that he was picked up off of the streets for the first time, and it stuck. Back in his old life, when he was a different person altogether, his older sister Elmira would endearingly refer to him as Zajushka/Zajushen’ka. It’s Russian for “little lamb”, a nickname that she came up with when he was just a little kid. Aurora (his younger sister) would also call him “Zi” a lot, which directly relates to his deadname.

He despises both of them.

Felix is Jamaican, Vietnamese, Colombian and Brazilian (and a smidge of French). He knows how to speak Spanish most fluently, as it was what was spoken to him growing up most frequently. But he’s also fluent in English, Vietnamese, Patois, and a bit of Portuguese. Reagan tried to get him to learn some French as well, but he ended up tuning her lessons out and daydreaming about going outside.

Ciro is a small size, abnormally so for a Noroi of his strength. He looks to be no more than a child, no older than seven or eight. But because of this, he is quite light on his feet. He is quite fluid with his movements, and extremely fast, making little to no sound when he moves. It’s almost as if he isn’t moving at all.

ᯓᝰ.ᐟ Do they like receiving gifts? Giving gifts? What is their ideal gift?

Anya loves to make other people happy. In such, she loves gift giving, as seeing another person’s face light up at the sight of a thoughtful gift is always certain to put her in a good mood. It makes her feel content. Receiving gifts is something she doesn’t get often, so she also feels quite happy to recieve them!! It’s always an unexpected surprise for a girl who is so used to offering herself up for other people. Her ideal gift would probably be a trinket from the town, a souvenir or something. She doesn’t get to go out often, so having a reminder of the outside world would be nice.

ᯓᝰ.ᐟ How would they describe themselves?

Estrella doesn’t really have a concept of who she is. Her identity before her death is entirely forgotten, with not even an inkling or a snippet of her past life left inside her mind. Her life in the Aether has revolved mainly around finding herself, who the person she used to be was. She’d have a hard time describing herself, waving the question off and mutter something about how all she cares about is getting answers.

Books of 2024 (in no particular order)

Hi, hello dears! Since I’m out here trying to bring back things, I’ll give a shot to this one too from last year. The “rules” were to list 9 books you’ve read and loved this year, and boy I’ve got recs to gush about. (somehow I could read 40+ books which is just insane)

So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole. ya fantasy, Jamaican-inspired, dragon riders, M/F and F/F focus

God I wanted to yap about this one for so long. This book literally got me back to reading, so naturally it became an instant fav and a life-changing book. And, honestly, gave me hope for some YA since I’m not the audience for those usually. The setting is as breathtaking as fresh within the genre, and the story is a very exciting one with all the dragon riding, the academy and the gods that would loan their power. Not to mention the characters which I surprisingly grown to love very much. (And man the romance part made me kick my feet and squel in excitement at some point). So yeah, give it a try please all. Like, now.

Why We Swim by Bonnie Tsui. non-fic, great audiobook, title says all

The read that rekindled my love for swimming and being in the water. A very interesting little book about incredible lives that were saved by or moved by swimming and the waters, while it also shows light on some beneficial aspects that not everyone might know. It’s a half memoir/biography too, but that part wasn’t as impactful I’d say. However the rest did make a strong impression on me so I’d recommend this to everyone who wants to know whats the swimming and water crazed people’s deal.

Jade City by Fonda Lee epic&urban fantasy, east-asian martial art movies and the godfather vibes, grimdark

And here we come with the big guns. I didn’t know this story is gonna be the second all time fav fantasy series on my list, nor that Fonda’s gonna become the tradpub female writer idol for me, but life’s just that unpredictable. Seriously, this book has me by the throat and I don’t want the grip to soften. All that you can imagine from the bleak, smoke filled gangster life to the flying-jumping double kicks of Michelle Yeoh, it’s in it. The story also very heavily leans onto the political intrigue, and lore aspect so keep that in mind. Oh and the best ever erotica (for my taste personally) is sprinkled around there casually too, so there’s that.

Penance by Eliza Clark litfic, fake-true crime, thriller

I was never a true crime girlie, but I was a litfic one. This book is kind of a satire about how true crime impacts people, especially teenage girls, and what's up with the obsession over it. It also explores where reality and fiction blurrs, and how that can impact lives. A brutal read, in my opinion, and I ate it up in two days smh. Also, I'm going to be real honest with y'all here; I was very confused at the beginning because I never read a fake investigated interview/essay before, so I completely believed it to be true (even tho I found it in the fiction genre). So yes, Eliza Clark is brilliant in that sense, will definitely check out her other books, and will never forget the true tragedy she based the crime in the book. Oh and when she brought up tumblr and tumblrinas in the book... ugh.

Cultish by Amanda Montell. non-fic, great audiobook, title says it all

2024 was the year of litfic and non-fic on my end, or at least I tried and am still trying to get back to them. This one was a very interesting book about cults and how cult leaders use language as a tool to create their communities. Or, well, not just them but everyone. I love learning about how and why we use language as we do, and I also love learning about anything cult related even tho they make my skin crawl. This book luckily did justice on both ends.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. litfic, fake-rockumentary, fleetwood mac/stevie nicks-inspired

Continuing my march on the "reading the books my favourite series and movies are based upon" journey. Daisy Jones is something that was great in book, but excellent on tv. The whole fiasco and the documentary part works better on screen I think, especially after they literally wrote, produced, sang and perfomed songs. Like what the hell. Still listening to the songs cuz some of them are peak 70s. However, the book and the series has the same vibe, so that's why I could enjoy both. (not to mention it inspired me too) What I would really highlight tho, it’s Simon’s story in the series because my god I love her so much. Sometimes even wish it would have been about her than Daisy, lol.

The Poppy War by R. F. Kuang. (ya) historical fantasy, very heavy war stuff, chinese mythology

It's not ya, okay? There are elements that match that, but overall, it's just not. What the book (and the whole series) actually is tho, is a raw portrayal and an essay about the horrors of the Second Sino-Japanese War, and what went down there, coated with a touch fantastical world and some magical/mythical elements. Loved the first book to pieces. This one might be the closest to ya, with all the academy time, the hint of enemies to whatevers, but only up until the half of the book. After that it blurrs and morphs. Still, the whole series is the most educational fantasy I've ever read, and will always keep the first book as a favourite. It's something everyone should read at least once, I think. But never ask me about the last installment.

The Red Palace by June Hur. ya historical fantasy, mystery, romance

Imagine a book that literally reads like a korean period drama. I mean, literally. Funny enough, I needed a second try to get to this book, but after that, oh man it checked all the boxes. It's easy to read, a fun little murder mystery in the palace, and a great experience if you're a kdrama junkie like me. I still think about this book from time to time, and will read all the other works from the author for sure. (fun fact: the royal family stuff are usually historically accurate because that's June Hur's whole sthick, which i love that for her)

We Will Devour The Night by Camilla Andrew. gaslamp fantasy, court intrigue, light vs dark, some impeccable erotica

We all know and love Cammie. And trust to bring an amazing next installement to the The Essence of the Equinox. I loved the book to pieces, because it contained everything I'd crave in a continuation. An interesting and gorgeous expanded world, escalating political intrigue and a ton of great character interactions. While, of course we still got to spend time with our best girl Laila, and best dick Darius.

Even though we are most conscious of the big, widely spoken languages like English and Chinese, most languages are spoken by a much smaller number of people. Because of the sheer number of languages in the world, something like Estonian is much more typical. To a first approximation, nobody in the world ever learns Estonian. If an Estonian person wants to talk to someone who’s not Estonian, they speak English. In the past, they might have spoken Russian. But nobody is learning Estonian. And Estonian is very complicated, with 14 noun cases and all kinds of other trouble. But as Trudgill points out, even Estonian — with its ~1 million speakers and solid K-12 education system and some broadcast media — is much more widely spoken than most historical languages. The vast bulk of human history consists of language communities that had no television or radio or even writing, speaking face-to-face mostly to other people they actually know. Communities like that are Petri dishes of linguistic innovation. When I used to host “The Weeds,” Dara Lind liked to jokingly say things like “Teds Cruz” to mean “people like Ted Cruz” modeled on the pluralization of attorneys-general. That became an inside joke that Sarah Kliff and Jane Coaston and I picked up. And Trudgill says this is how language change works in small oral communities — someone makes something up because he or she thinks it’s clever, and if other people like it, they copy it. There aren’t a lot of entertainment options, language play is fun, and there’s no influx of foreigners learning your language and needing to simplify it. So you end up developing a kind of anti-creole, with lots of weird flourishes.

Im gonna start with my favs

Fudou Akio

I headcanon him as Japanese and Puerto Rican. Whenever he s mad he ll curse in Spanish cause no one knows it in the team. Kidou understands just a few words while Gouenji and Haruna understand very well the language. He listens to old school reggaeton on repeat. His favorite songs is probably “Caile” by Tito “El bambino”. He also listens to rock a lot!

Once in a while when he has time he will invite all his old team mates and start a party. They will listen to all kinds of music and dance and drink and have a lot of fun! He has a cool tattoo on his back! Ever since he started growing his hair he styles is in a mullet like wolf cut or something

Kidou Yuuto

I headcanon Kidou as blasian! Japanese and Jamaican to be exact. He really has that strong accent. He listens to pretty chill songs. Nothing to wild. He has a few reggaeton songs recommended by Fudou that he likes such as “Zun Da da” by Zion

He only knows a little Spanish but understands clearly whenever Fudou curses him

F: Hijo de puta

K: I’ve heard that idiot

He is a lady Gaga enjoyer and also enjoys French music such as Alor on Danse by Stromae and Positif by Mr. oizo

What he does in his free time? Visits his grandparents in Jamaica when he has time! He once brought Fudou there and they had a blast!

Endou Mamoru

He is Japanese! He usually listens to pop music! What he does in his free time except playing football? He skates! He once had a hyper fixation to learn how to skate on roller skates and once in a while he goes and skates for hours to clears his mind! He does enjoy Megan the stallion a lot! His fav songs is Mamushi

Gouenji Shuuya

Gouenji is half columbian! He also enjoys a bit if reggaeton but not us much as Fudou! He actually love mysterious music such as Lovers from the past by mareux

He actually enjoys all kinds of music as long as it sounds good. He hates when a song had a cringe beat, if he feels uncomfortable listening to it he’ll hate it. He loves cruising in his sports car. Oh yeah Gouenji would own a sports car. He love driving, it calms him down and helps clear his mind.

Haruna Otonashi

She s also blasian(Japanese and Jamaican). She loves songs that have in theme woman power. But she also likes songs with pretty explicit lyrics! When Fudou organizes a party Haruna and him will be the ones to dance like there is no tomorrow. They’ll both get drunk and dance together. One time Haruna put this song “so mi like it” by Spice. Fudou was shocked to see what Haruna listens to but imagine how kidou was when he saw Haruna dance in the song and sing it. SPEACHLESS!

She loves drawings in her free time. She s not good at it but she learns and loves seeing the progress she makes everytime she draw

Bun and Cheese!

Miles would watch his mamí cook such delicious foods, his honey brown eyes landed on container that were meant for his boyfriend. It got him wanting to help her, since his mom would give him leftovers to Hobie.

"Mamí, yo puedo ayuda?" The eighteen year old asked.

"Oh, sí, mi amor." His mom happily smiles, "What got you wanting to cook?"

"Um... I see your making extras for Hobie, and..." Miles looks bashful as he went to help her chop some onions, "I... maybe you can help me make his some food for the week?"

Rio's eyes lit up with joy, "Oh mi bebé, of course I will! Besides, this will be great for you to learn when you live on your own." She kisses her son's cheek being so happy seeing her son wanting to bond with her through cooking, and to make food for someone he deeply loves.

"Waahhh," Baby Billie cries being awake from her nap through the baby monitor.

"This is also good for me. You can cook while I deal with mi otra bebé!" She let Miles' handle the stove with all those pans and pots, "Let me go feed her. I'll tell you what to do."

"Uhh, okay!" Miles said with a slight panic in his voice. When his mom came back holding his baby sister, who's teary eyes blooms at the sight go him. It looks like all her sadness were washed away.

Miles listens to his mom telling him how long each side of the chicken should be cooked, when to stir the habichuelas, and check on the rice. "Tu nova es parte Jamaiquino?"

"Yeah, his family is a mix between Jamaican and West African... I think part Haitian, too."

"Oh, él también podría ser en parte dominicano. Comparten la misma isla. Recuerden que el papá de tu prima Moni y primo Flaco es dominicano y tenía un poco de Haitiano." She switch to speaking English, "His family lives close to boarder with a ranch and everything."

"Well, I dunno if Hobie knows much on his family. They don't talk much on that, but maybe. He knows like four languages and Haitian Creole is one of them."

"Look at him y tu? You should already be fluent con tu Espanol!"

"Mamí, tu sabes que lo estoy- umm trying." Miles tries to speak in full Spanish from time to time, "I mean, at least I understand everything in Spanish. Good thing, I know Korean and Sign Language." He's fluent with Sign Language and he's so proud of that.

Rio giggles, "Remember summer we'll be going to Puerto Rico, and all your family would want to speak with you." She went to get a formula bottle to feed her daughter.

Miles could only give a sheepish smile, he needs to work on that.

The Next Day

Miles came by to his boyfriend's place to drop off some food, "Mi amor, you here?" He went inside to find his boyfriend being shirtless with his skinny jeans and thick red boots. Hobie turns his head making his wicks bounce, his whole body turning pink.

"Sunflower!" He looks so happy to see his boyfriend, he was busy washing his dishes finishing up his breakfast. "I didn't expect you to come by. I would've clean up." He took off his rubber washing gloves revealing his hands having rings and neatly painted black nails. The punker saw his Sunflower set two big bags on the small round table, then rushes over to hug and kiss him.

"Mmm-mwah!" Miles' arms tightly hug his Hobie's waist with his head looking up with so much love. "Mamí wanted me to give this to you as soon as possible. She made some grilled chicken, steamed vegetables, and bean stew."

"Mmm sounds delicious, luv." Hobie leans over for another kiss with his arms hugging his Sunflower. "But it looks like she made other dishes?"

"Oh yeah, I help her make tostones," Miles hums.

"Ohh, so you cook too." Hobie's eyes gleam with joy by this fact.

"Mmhmm. Hope you like it, baby." He kisses his boyfriend's lips again and again.

The Punker picks up his Sunflower, "I will always love everything you and your mother make, but right now, I think I want a treat." He took his boyfriend to the bedroom only the sounds of giggles came out of the room.

A week later on Earth 1610, Miles was preparing Hobie's lunch and the rest of his week meal plans. He started to make Bun and Cheese, a savory sweet sandwich that's very comforting for many Jamaicans. Heck, his dad is a huge fan of them, too.

So Miles spend his free Friday making Jamaican Spice Buns with dried fruit, it almost reminded him of a fruit cake. He took a small piece to try and like the sweet spices with the molasses taste of this dense bread. "Mmm." He quickly got his knife to make thick slices of bread.

The whole home smells off cinnamon and raisins, the teenager got some sharp cheddar cheese knowing his boyfriend likes eating it that type instead of regular cheddar. Maybe he should've got the Tastee Jamaican cheese, since he saw Hobie having in his cabinets. "I'll leave some slices for him." He softly said to himself.

Then the timer ring, making Miles go over to the stove to flip over his steak making Bistec Encebollao, and he made a batch of fried sweet plantains knowing his man loves them so much. Then a big batch of rice and peas, he smiles to himself at the view of his cooking.

"Look at me go!" He did a happy dance.

Jeff came through the front door smelling the house, "Whoo, something smells good!" The middle age man went over to the kitchen being surprised his son cooking, "Miles, son? Your cooking?"

"Hey, dad! Yup. I want to make Hobie some lunch." Miles happily said.

Jeff nodded, "Alright." he went over to look at the food, "Smells good. Ohh, is that bun and cheese?" He took one of the sandwiches to munch on being hungry.

Miles looks over to see his dad's reaction. Jeff took a big bite, then his eyes widen and went, "MMM." He always buy store bought spice bread, but the homemade one taste way better. "This is good! You added nutmeg?"

"Yup!" His son proudly said.

Rio came out of her room with little Billie in her arms, "Hola, mi amor! Ohh, something smells so good."

"I'm making Bistec Encebollao!" Miles happily said seeing how his parents like his cooking.

The next day, Miles had packed all of Hobie's meal plans and a special lunch. He made sure he added a cute note, and sweet treat with some homemade lemonade. He went to HQ knowing his boyfriend might be there trying to change the minds of new comers about Miguel's dictatorship, or start some drama like always.

When he took the large plastic bags filled with Hobie's meals for the week, he got so excited to see his reaction. Happily to find his boyfriend in the hallway with their friends, "Bae!" He happily rushes over.

Hobie turns pink by the sound of his Sunflower, he turns to find his beautiful boyfriend running to him. His arms open up to let him fall into his arms, "Sunflower!" His nose being buried into his Miles' hair, "Mm! What you got there?"

"I made you lunch and meal plans instead of mi mamí!" Miles happily said with a bright beaming smile.

Hobie felt a cupid's arrow dig into his heart falling in love with his Sunflower all over again! The bright blush pink covers his whole body with hearts, and 'I love yous' all over. Then, the biggest font over his forehead, "I'M GOING TO MARRY HIM!"

Pavtri and Gwen gawks at the font having to point at it. Then saw Miles looking bashful! "Bae, I hope you like it! I work so hard."

"Anything you make for me is never awful." Hobie happily took his lunch box, and his bags for the week. "Smells heavenly, darlin'."

"You don't believe in heaven, Hobie!" His boyfriend giggles.

Gwen and Pavtri being nosy had look at the bag smelling some good food. Hobie putting on his charming smile, "Luv, you're my heaven!" If Heaven does exist, he knows for sure Miles would be his true happiness, ever lasting peace and love.

Hobie saw his Sunflower leaving with a rush. "Ohh, Miles cook for you! Oh, we should eat lunch together. I wanna see what he made for you!"

"Alright." Hobie shrugs trying to play off being chill.

At the cafeteria, Gwen and Pavtri got their own lunch, they sat in front of their Punker friend, who's beginning to open his lunch bag. He took out containers of hot foods, then a sandwich wrapped in aluminum, a drink and some sweet bread with a little folded note. "Ohh, open the containers! What is it?"

Hobie open the large container to find his sweet Sunflower made him, his favorite fried plantains, habichuelas with rice, and some delicious steak with some onions with a hearty sauce. Then, he opens the aluminum wrap with his eyes gleaming at the Bun and Cheese.

"Ohh, that smells good. Is that bread homemade?" Gwen asked as she sniff the air of delicious spices of nutmeg and cinnamon.

Pavtri said, "Oh that looks like a really good lunch."

Hobie took a bite of his Bun and Cheese and fell in love, "MMM!" He groans at the sweet taste of the freshly baked bun, it's way better than store bought. Then, with the sharp cheddar cheese giving a savory taste- Man, he loves this snack! Then he opens his bottle to sip at the homemade lemonade.

Everything tasted so perfect and delicious, he couldn't help but shove his food like a beast! He chews with his dark eyes catching the note, picking it up to read it.

(These are old drawings of her, so of course they don't really look the best. It was my first time drawing scenes hairstyles! Leslie Lee, 23-24 (In season 2 when we are first introduced to her)

Leslie Lee is an aspiring musician just trying to get through in this hard life. Of course, considering her conditions, you would think it wouldn't be that easy. Leslie is a bit different from other girls and musicians, and no, I do not mean that in a pick me way, she's quite literally different, because unlike most people attending a high class college for the musically talented, Leslie is blind! However, she doesn't let her disability stop her from pursuing her passions, which are playing instruments, writing songs, and dressing up!

Of course, this is just one of the many special things about Leslie. There is so much more to this scene girl than meets the eye. (pun intended)

I feel like in the show, Leslie isn't a main character (none of my ocs really are LOL), but she is a reoccurring character that I feel like everyone would love despite not having a lot of screen time. She'd definitely shine more in the 3rd and 4th season and the movies. Just like Knubbler!! (Wait... maybe not like Knubbler... maybe....)

•In Leslie's concept (which I've never drawn) she was going to wear all black and blue from her clothes to her hair, she was also going to have her eyes covered by her bangs.

•Her last name Lee comes from the Evanescence singer Amy Lee, who was one of Leslie's inspos.

•In her original design, she was blasian (Korean and Jamaican), but now she's Indian and Jamaican, but she can speak a good chunk of Korean.

•Leslie is bisexual.

•Her voice claims would be: Dokkaebi from R6 Siege, Juliett from Lolipop Chainsaw, Deb from Finding Nemo (aka Vicki Lewis her VA)

•I know I mentioned her being blind, but I can't really describe what she sees. It's not pitch black, though. I'm still researching.

•She also was a part of a band called GLITTERWRIST as the singer, but I kinda scrapped that idea?? Maybe I'll add it back, but idk.

•Whenever her friends or loved ones are down, she is always there to make them feel better she will never leave you alone unless they yell at her to leave.

•She's the type of person to eat A LOT but never gain weight.

•Speaking of quality time, she's very fashionable and LOVES fashion (preferably scene stuff, y'know?) She loves to go shopping with her friends and loved ones.

•Even though she loves scene music and pop, she very much loves classical music, which shocks many!

•Speaking of classical, she is very VERY skilled on the violin. Obviously, Dethklok finds weird since the violin is just so...boring to them. It's a grandpa guitar but fancier.

•She also plays a bit on the piano and keyboard, but she's horrible at guitar no matter how hard she's tried to play!

•She doesn't like needles, which is ironic since she has piercings on her nose and snake bites under/on the side of her lips.

•She also has a nice singing voice, but you wouldn't know that since whenever she does make music, it's filled with that Ke$ha type music. But don't say she can't sing. She's definitely good at it.

•She is roommates with my other oc, Skyler Lovelock. (who we will also learn about in a later post)

•I wanted to mention this in a later post, but there is a running gag with her that whenever she's with Toki, she never dies or even gets hurt, but instead has near death experiences that are usually dealt with by someone nearby them (that isnt dethklok ofc), I can't explain this well sorry, but if you've watched scary movie 2, just remember the road scene with Brenda where she mentions bad luck and the couple behind her gets hit by a bus. That's kinda what happens.

Tbh you think I'd remember but I really don't. I have vague memories of making Pokemon OC's but wasn't really introduced to the concept of fanfiction until my older sister got me into Hetalia and I found out about it while looking up fanart. I think I've discusses it before, though, that I didn't feel confident writing full-on fanfic for the longest time because I was too terrified about writing characters OOC. Idk what exactly made me get over it, maybe GG just instilled enough brainrot I couldn't help it

Probably in part due to oversaturation, but Bridget is just...kinda boring. I find her concept and story endearing and sympathetic, of course, but she doesn't have the same kind of complicated themes and bizarre lore that engages me like a lot of the series' other characters to the point where I can delve into it and get on that level of brainrot.

Can't simply say 'a.' I feel like I take a lot of bits from a lot of different stuff! I find I like to try and find 'weird' media frequently, though, I like seeing the bizarre concepts people can cook up and wonder if I'm not thinking outside the box hard enough. hweeeehhhh why do you always give me the tough ones. There's some really obvious picks, you and Jim and Roy and Crow, but I've probably done you all like three times already! Easy picks

Lemme see, if I wanna try and do something a little different than the obvious, I do have a couple recs! For anyone that's into Psychonauts, I totally recommend BabyCharmander (ESPECIALLY 'Cavity,' do not read anything else before you go into it, reading it for the first time hits you like a truck to the face) and The_Angst_Alchemist (Particularly if you're a Thorney Towers fan, they write the inmates with such panache and easily some of the best interpretations of Fred) It's a little more niche, but if you're an ARMS fan I recommend anything by MeltyMetroid, for a series that has such little lore they've written several incredibly fleshed out and well-constructed longfics (I'd recommend 'DisARMed' and 'Broken Mirror' for the plot-heavy jaunts and 'The Brass that Saved Christmas' if you want a good laugh)

Admittedly in general I don't pay as much attention to specific writers as I should, or the series I look for stuff for is so niche it doesn't really have dedicated writers

Heyy! this is just a small(ish) rant that I though wouldn't nesseserily relate with, but you understand and could possibly give me some advice on.

so basically, I know your Colombian and so am I (well half because of my mum). my dad is Jamaican and I was born in Jamaica, then after of a year of me being there my family and me moved to England so I was raised there. but the problem is that my family was never ever practiced my Colombian side/culture.

dont get me wrong, I love the Jamaican culture and how strong and passionate Jamaicans are, but ive always wanted to embrace my Colombian side and im looking to do that more by my self now im a little over and I can make my own decisions.

I honestly have no idea about my Colombian side and surprisingly my mum had never really claimed it. so I know NOTHING about it. I really wanna learn more about it and wanna learn Spanish but I have no idea on where to start so im seeing if you maybe have any advice for me on what to do? I LOVE YOU!!!

Uhm well, first of all, bienvenida hermana colombiana... let's see, you can start by looking for what specific place your mom is from and from there see what traditions are specific to her place of birth, because in every region of Colombia, traditions are different. But uh, I'll make a small list of festivities that we do around here in the whole country…

We have Día de Velitas, we celebrate it on December 7th and it has a religious connotation, but you don't necessarily have to be catholic to celebrate it, you just get together with your family and light candles (each candle you light can be a wish or goal for the next year), there is food such as buñuelos and natilla.

Our Independence Day is July 20, not much is done on that day, it is a holiday and usually, at least in the capital, there is a parade of military aircraft.

We celebrate Christmas on December 24, or something like that, that day we wait until midnight to open the presents and have dinner with the family.

We have Holy Week too, usually in schools and universities they give all that week as a little vacation, everything is very religious, I personally do not celebrate that week but if you do it's ok.

Oh, we also have 18 to 20 holidays throughout the year, so those days we are not going to study or work, since Colombia is the country of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, all those holidays belong to saints or martyrs. As I mentioned, I don't believe in any of that, so those days are for resting hehe.

You mentioned that you want to learn Spanish, that's great, although I warn you that it can be a bit complicated language because it has too many grammatical rules, but if you want to start, listening to music in Spanish with subtitles helps a lot, you can also use Duolingo, it's a classic and if you can afford classes or get a tutor, it would be the best, but if not, learning empirically on your own also works, that's how I learned English.

in the reblog for the midi of sean paul's "get busy" you said you liked how they wrote the lyrics out the way he says them (Inna di club, dem waan flex wid us/To get next to us, dem cyaan vex wid us). these are actually the official lyrics because they're in jamaican patois! the op wasn't writing that way for no reason :)

it's a creole language, so it can be quite similar to english aside from the accent, and exists on a continuum. it's really interesting to read about if you get the chance! sean paul was one of the first reggae dancehall artists to find success in america, and it's cool how the language is simultaneously familiar and new. anyways just thought i'd share, have a nice day ^_^

Task 2: What Has Influenced Me?

Living in Toronto which is one of the most diverse cities in the world, I have been surrounded by so many different cultures that have influenced the way I eat, dress, and spend my life! These influences have come from many different areas of the world and have become part of my everyday life. Here are five ways culture has influenced me. 

One of the top cultural influences in my life is food. In my neighbourhood, I can find everything from Indian food, to Chinese food, or Jamaican food! One of my favourite foods is sushi and miso soup which comes from Japan. Another one I love is Indian butter chicken. These different foods have become normal meals I eat many times throughout the year, even though they come from completely different cultures than mine.

Fashion in Toronto is very interesting and influenced by peoples cultures. I often see people wearing clothes inspired by their culture, like saris and hijabs. I really enjoy streetwear which is from hip-hop culture and Japanese fashion. People also like to mix and match different styles from different cultures to express themselves. Cultural fashion has shown me to appreciate different styles and traditions, and respectfully like to incorporate them into my own style. 

The buildings in Toronto show different cultural influences too. In the downtown area, there's fully glass modern skyscrapers next to old European churches, which is super cool to see. I've been to Chinatown and the architecture is more traditional Chinese like how they are in China, designs like curved roofs, dragons, lots of color, and pillars. These different types of buildings make Toronto feel like a mix of so many peoples' different worlds and cultures into one city and always amazes me to see the beautiful buildings from different cultures. 

A lot of my favourite activities actually come from other cultures. I love yoga, which comes from India. I also play soccer, which is popular all around the world, but mostly in Europe and South America. During the summer I go to different festivals, one I went to was Caribana, which is full of Caribbean culture like music, dancing, and food. Events like this make my spare time fun, educational, and give me something to look forward to!

When it comes to entertainment for me, I watch films and TV and listen to music from many different cultures. I've watched my fair share of Anime, which is Japanese. And on the streaming service I use, I’ve watched shows from India, Spain, and France that ended up being really good. This kind of entertainment has shown me various stories from certain cultures, taught me bits from different languages, and film styles. 

In conclusion, everyone's culture is living all around me and has helped me grow, learn, and shape me as a person having influences from all sorts of different places. Between food, fashion, and entertainment, I've learned to really appreciate different backgrounds and traditions as they’ve really influenced me. These cultural differences have made me so much more open minded and I'm really grateful for the diversity around me.

Learning Activity 3.5, Task 2: What has influenced me? Growing up near Jane and Finch in Toronto, I never identified with my ethnic background. Although I love the Germans and Newfies in my family, it is just impossible for me to tie my identity down to just those places. Instead, the person I’ve become has been influenced and built by everything around me. From the lunch special at the Jamaican spot across from my home, to my Japanese rock playlist that fuels my Muay-Thai workout, my identity has always been rooted in Toronto’s cultural blend. My everyday life is so affected by food, fashion, entertainment, and even architecture, I truly am a product of a cultural mosaic.

The most present influence from other cultures in my life is food, and with over 9,000 restaurants in my city, could you blame me? I will literally eat everything, sushi platters, jerk chicken, shawarma wraps, schnitzels, poutine. It’s not just the food I’m consuming, but the culture too, with spots like Daldongnae where me and the boys learn so much about Korea just from talking to the servers. Every meal comes with a side of culture whether it’s learning a couple words in a new language, or the entire history of India from a drunk guy at Tamasha. Food has always been the easiest and my favourite way to step into someone else’s world.

The scene of my life is shaped a lot by fashion and entertainment as well. Clothes, music, and self-expression are the core of how I live my life. I might pull up to a Korean Karaoke spot dressed in Japanese streetwear, or train at the gym in Thai boxing shorts.

Once you indulge in hobbies from other cultures, the fashion kind of just seeps its way through the seams of your life. Music does the same thing. You can’t listen to as much punk rock as me and not let it change the way you dress, talk, and think. Entire playlists consisting of U.K. punk will have you dressing in ripped skinny jeans and black leather jackets during the hottest Toronto summer days.

Let’s not forget about how important architecture is to the diversity of a city. I spend a lot of leisure time downtown, and every building I pass tells a different story. You’ll see a glass tower right next to an old worn down Victorian style townhouse. I’m typing this out from a brutalist library next to a century old church. This contrast is not only cool to look at, but is a physical example of cultural diffusion. Where else can you see two completely different buildings, from two completely different cultures, stand right next to each other? It is said that tradition and modernity often clash, but Toronto proves otherwise. Just like our social environment, our city’s buildings are diverse and adaptive.

After stepping back and looking at my life, it’s surprising to see how many different cultures affect almost everything I do. What’s even more surprising is just how easily these influences are blended in. Food, music, entertainment, every day activities, and even architecture from different cultures seep into my life in a beautiful way. Living in Toronto, you never hear the word “acculturation”, because you feel it all the time. It isn’t thought about, it’s just the way it is.
