I was feeling a little silly :3 (I wrote a whole ass fanfic on Sub! Francis Mosses :|)
—————————————————
You sighed, the sound of your door unlocking echoing in the vast silence of the hallway. Stepping inside your apartment, you closed the door behind you, before taking off your coat. A breath of relief escaped your throat. Work had been particularly unforgiving today, and you were glad to finally be home and away from it all.
You hung your jacket on the hook that stood on the plain wall before you. You slipped your shoes off your aching feet, a delightful scent wafting your way. You perked up. A smile tugged at your lips. Despite the hardships you faced daily at your bore of a job, you could always count on one thing at the end of the day: your beloved husband, Francis Mosses.
“Darling?” a call resounded from the kitchen, enunciated in that tired, gravelly voice that you had grown to love.
“I’m home! Just give me a second, dear,” your response was short lived, as you heard hurried footsteps in your direction.
Before you could blink, two warm arms had wrapped themselves around you, breaking you away from the real world if only for a couple moments. And just as soon as they had appeared, they were gone. You could feel your beloved husband dutifully remove the rest of your work attire before those same warm hands guided you towards the living room.
“How was work, my love?” a gentle tone graced your hearing, followed by a ginger peck on your cheek.
You let out a tired chuckle, “The same as always,” you sighed, taking a seat on the couch, “John can’t keep his mouth shut and Mary’s always on my trail.”
There’s a droop in Francis’s tone. “That woman from HR?”
You’re too tired to speak so instead you just nod in response, the weight of your day creeping up on you.
“Well, don’t worry about that now, love,” you feel his palm cup your cheek, heat bouncing off his skin and onto your own as he turns your head ever so gently. Your gazes are locked together now; a faint sparkle in Francis’s.
“I made your favorite.” the words are uttered so softly that you would not be able to catch them if you weren’t paying full attention to him. The tenderness of the moment overwhelms you, and you can do nothing but smile at the man that had stolen your heart. He returns the expression whole-heartedly.
You feel his warmth break apart from you abruptly, and your eyes trail after Francis as he heads towards the kitchen. The aroma is much stronger now.
You can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude as you get up to follow him.
—————————————————
“Hic—wait—not there-mmgf~!” your husband’s eyes roll back into his head for the umpteenth time tonight, a dizzying flush coating his body.
Your hand is wrapped relentlessly around Francis’s cock, erect and leaking uncontrollably. He lets a gasp as your thumb begins to rub over his slit, a keen clawing at his throat. Your touch glides almost painfully slow across his tip, and the poor man doesn’t know whether to buck into your touch or away from it…it’s just too good.
Instead, his hands paw uselessly at your sides. A series of hiccups escape him from all the crying he’s done, and you lap up the sounds like a man in the desert. You absolutely loved how vocal Francis was. He bites down on his bottom lip in an effort to silence his cries, flush coloring his cheeks out of embarrassment. It doesn’t work, of course.
“Ngh! F~uck…why..”
“Why what, darling?” you crooned, relishing in his state, “Use your words.”
Francis’s mind goes blank. A helpless whine leaves his mouth, and a shaky breath exits him when he feels your hand tighten around the base of his ruined cock.
He lets a sob, “Hnng! I can’t stop..leaking! S-shit~” tears begin to wet his face once again, rolling down to frame his features in a way that you never imagined up until now.
—————————————————
…was that OOC—:0
imagine him falling apart in your lap, his back pressed up against your chest, squirming in your grasp...twitching with whiny moans and drool dripping down the side of his mouth with fat tears in the corners of his eyes. turning back to look you asking if he did a good job ......
AHHHHHH. u did so amazing anon, not ooc at ALL. REAL FRANCIS IS SOOOOO SUB CODED. like he's so inexperienced it hurts and it just makes me wanna UGHHHH.

Any chance for something with Nick Fowler, little spicy. Maybe not respecting personal space because you’re his and why should he, even if you don’t know that yet.
Sending all the love and best vibes for the weekend!
I didn't get to add too much spice, and this does go into semi-dark territory, but I hope you like it!

Ever since you started working for him, the handsome Director of the CIA had no sense of personal boundaries. The man always found an excuse to touch you whenever possible; the small of your back or your hip whenever he guided you through an open door, rubbing your shoulders while you sat at your desk, brushing up against you when you were at the copier. At first you told yourself he was just a touchy-feely person, but you noticed that he never put a hand on anyone else and kept a respectable distance.
So why was it different with you?
“Sweetheart, where’s that file I asked for?” Nick called from his desk.
You counted to three in your head. It was bad enough that he made you stay late, now he was adding pet names on top of it? You were seriously considering filing an HR Complaint against him. “One moment, Mr. Fowler,” you replied, making sure all the needed papers were in the folder.
Nick didn’t look up when you walked in, too busy reading the piece of paper in front of him. “Set it right here,” he said, tapping a spot close to him.
“Yes, sir.”
That made your boss lift his gaze, his blue eyes glancing at you from head to toe. You almost faltered when you walked around the desk to set the file down, his stare too dark, too lustful. “Did I tell you how nice you look today?” he asked, brushing a hand along your backside. You tensed up when he did it again. “You look nice every day.”
“Mr. Fowler-”
“What happened to ‘sir’?” He leaned back in his chair with a smirk. “I like how that sounds.”
You took a breath. “You can’t keep… doing that,” you said, taking a step back.
His hand gripped your wrist, preventing you from moving back any further. “What exactly am I doing?”
“Touching me and using pet names with me. You’re my boss, and that crosses a boundary,” you explained. Holding a position of power didn’t give him the right to abuse it.
Nick didn’t release you as he stood up, and your heart only raced faster when he tugged you close. “You think I’m crossing boundaries now, sweetheart? I haven’t even bent you over my desk yet,” he smiled, like a wolf about to eat the lamb.
You tried not to let it show how nervous you were, but everyone else on the floor had gone home for the day. “You can’t just-”
Your mouth snapped shut when he gripped your chin and leaned in close. “I can’t do whatever I want because you’re mine,” his breath ghosted your trembling lips before he let you go, your legs shaking where you stood. “You just don’t know it yet.”
Nick sat back in his chair and opened his file like he hadn’t said or done anything. You didn’t understand. Why you? It didn’t matter. You had to quit. You could find another job. Maybe-
“You won’t quit, and you won’t talk to HR. So, why don’t you just relax and order us dinner?” he said, his voice crawling over your skin. “We’re going to be here all night.”

Bucky taking care of an exhausted/overworked reader after a long dayyy?(just had the worst day at work lol😭)
Warnings: None, just fluff!
The moment Y/N stepped into her apartment, every muscle in her body ached in protest.
The day had been long - no, brutal. Meetings that could’ve been emails, a coffee spill on her favorite shirt, and a particularly insufferable coworker who thought ‘urgent’ meant ‘Take your sweet time.’
Bucky Barnes had been sitting on the couch, flipping through channels aimlessly, but the second the door creaked open, he turned his attention to her. His sharp blue eyes softened as he took in the sight of his girl - slumped shoulders, dark circles under her eyes. And a scowl that could rival even his own grumpiest days.
“Doll,” he murmured, setting the remote aside. “You look like you fought Thanos single-handedly.”
Y/N groaned, dropping her bag onto the floor with a dramatic thud. “Worse. I fought the corporate machine and lost.”
Bucky smirked, unfolding himself from the couch in that effortless, predatory way he moved. For a 106-year-old ex-assassin, he was annoyingly graceful. “C’mere,” he said, already reaching for her.
She barely had the energy to move, but she didn’t need to. He met her halfway, pulling her into his arms like it was second nature. The second her face hit his chest, the tension in her body started to melt.
“You smell nice,” she mumbled into his shirt. “Like…winter and safety.”
“Not metal and violence?” he teased, rubbing slow circles into her back.
“Surprisingly, no. Just warmth.”
Bucky chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “Rough day, huh?”
Y/N made a noise of pure exhaustion. “Everything was awful. And people were dumb. And my brain is fried.”
He hummed in understanding. “So, you’re saying now isn’t the best time to ask if you wanna go on a mission with Sam and me?”
Y/N pulled back just enough to give him the deadliest glare she could muster. “Barnes.”
His grin was unrepentant. “Alright, alright. C’mon, let’s get you out of these work clothes.”
“Bucky Barnes, are you seducing me right now?” she asked dryly.
“Not yet. First, food. Second, a bath. Then, we’ll see.” He waggled his eyebrows before bending down to untie her shoes for her.
Y/N sighed, letting him fuss over her. This was their routine whenever she had a bad day - Bucky going full mother hen mode, making sure she was fed, warm, and comfortable.
“Okay, tell me everything,” he prompted as he guided her toward their bedroom. “Who do I have to fight?”
Y/N dramatically flopped onto the bed. “Carol in HR. She is the devil.”
Bucky flopped down beside her, throwing an arm over her stomach. “Carol in HR, huh? What’d she do?”
“She gave me two conflicting deadlines for the same project and then told my boss I was ‘struggling to keep up’ when I asked for clarification.”
Bucky sucked in a sharp breath. “I see. And why is she still breathing?”
Y/N snorted, rolling onto her side to face him. “Because I need my job, unfortunately.”
“Fair.” He played with a loose strand of her hair, twisting it gently between his fingers. “I could scare her for you. Just a little. Maybe mention how good I am at making people disappear.”
“Bucky.”
“What? You think the Winter Soldier rep doesn’t have its perks?”
She laughed, which was exactly what he was aiming for. “I’ll handle Carol myself, thanks.”
“Fine, fine. But if she steps out of line again, I’m putting her on my list.”
Y/N lifted an eyebrow. “You have a list?”
“Oh yeah.” He smirked. “Right at the top? That barista who rolled her eyes at you that one time.”
Y/N cackled. “I will never get over that.”
Bucky grinned, clearly pleased with himself. “Alright, up we go. Pajamas, food, bath.”
She whined but let him pull her up. He found her comfiest sweatpants and one of his old Henleys, helping her into them like she was a tired toddler. “There we go. Cozy and adorable.”
“I am neither of those things.”
“You so are.” He tapped her nose. “Now, do you want grilled cheese or pancakes?”
“Both.”
He beamed. “That’s my girl.”
Twenty minutes later, they were curled up on the couch, a plate of grilled cheese and pancakes between them, with Bucky feeding her bites like she was royalty.
“This is the life,” she mumbled around a mouthful of food.
“Told ya,” he said smugly. “Now, let’s find a movie where nothing bad happens, and the dog lives.”
Y/N sighed happily, snuggling into his side. “Perfect.”
Bucky shifted, glancing at her with a small smirk. "Alright, up, Doll. Bath time."
She groaned dramatically, but when he tugged her up, she didn’t resist. Her limbs felt heavy with exhaustion, the weight of the day still pressing down on her, but Bucky’s touch was firm, grounding.
In the bathroom, warm steam curled through the air carrying the soft scent of vanilla and honey. The water in the tub was already drawn, shimmering under the dim glow of candles flickering along the edges. Bubbles swirled across the surface, piled high like clouds, they looked inviting and comforting. The whole setup looked so idyllic that she just stood there, blinking at the scene before turning to Bucky.
“You did all this?” she murmured, voice thick with the kind of gratitude that words couldn’t quite capture.
Bucky just shrugged, but there was something tender in the way he reached for the hem of her shirt. “You looked like you needed it,” he said simply.
Her heart swelled as he helped her out of her clothes, his touch slow and reverent, like he wasn’t just undressing her but peeling away the weight of her exhaustion, one layer at a time. When she was bare before him, he didn’t rush, just let his fingers skim over her shoulders, his lips ghosting across her temple in a whisper of warmth.
“Come on, sweetheart,” he murmured, stepping out of his own clothes save for his boxers before sinking into the water first. He exhaled a quiet sigh as the heat soaked into his skin, his muscles relaxing almost instantly. Then, with careful hands, he reached for her.
She let herself be pulled into the water, sighing as the warmth enveloped her, easing the tension that had knotted itself into her muscles throughout the day. Bucky guided her between his legs, and the moment she settled against his chest, she felt herself melt. His arms came around her, his vibranium hand cool against the heat of her skin, drawing soft, absent-minded patterns along her arm.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke. The only sounds were the gentle lapping of the water, the distant hum of the city outside, and the steady, reassuring rhythm of Bucky’s breathing against her back. She could feel his heart, steady and strong, beating against her spine.
“You okay, Doll?” he murmured against her temple, his voice low and full of something she couldn’t quite name.
She let out a sleepy hum, eyes fluttering closed. “M’perfect.”
Bucky chuckled, the sound deep and affectionate, reverberating through her where she rested against him. “Glad to hear it.”
His lips brushed against her damp hair, pressing a lingering kiss there before he reached for the loofah, dipping it into the warm water. He started with her shoulders, rubbing gentle circles into her skin, washing away the tension like it was something tangible. His touch was firm but soothing, working out the stiffness that had settled deep into her muscles.
She sighed under his touch, eyes slipping closed as the steady rhythm of his movements lulled her into a state of pure contentment. “Gonna fall asleep right here,” she mumbled, half-dazed.
“That’s the plan,” he murmured, a smile evident in his tone. He continued his ministrations, taking his time as he massaged the soapy loofah down her arms, across her collarbone, down the gentle slope of her back. His vibranium fingers followed in its wake, tracing light, lazy patterns that sent shivers down her spine.
As he worked, he pressed small, lingering kisses along the exposed curve of her shoulder, slow and unhurried, like he had all the time in the world. Each kiss was a quiet reassurance, a promise that she was safe, cared for, cherished.
“You always take such good care of me,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion.
Bucky paused, resting his chin against her shoulder. “Of course I do, sweetheart,” he said softly, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “That’s what you do when you love someone.”
Her heart clenched at the simplicity of his words, at the way he said them with such quiet certainty. She turned slightly in his arms, just enough to meet his gaze. There was something unguarded in his expression, something raw and achingly sincere.
She reached up, cupping his face, her thumb brushing over the stubble along his jaw. “I love you, too,” she murmured.
Bucky’s breath hitched slightly, his grip on her tightening just a fraction before he exhaled, a slow, shaky thing. He nuzzled into her touch, his lips brushing against her palm before he turned his head to press a kiss there. “Yeah?” he murmured against her skin.
“Yeah,” she breathed.
Bucky let out a soft chuckle, wrapping his arms more securely around her as he pressed a lingering kiss to her temple. “Good.”
They stayed like that for a while, the water still warm around them, the bubbles slowly dissipating. Eventually, Bucky reached for a cup, filling it with water before tilting her head back slightly. “Close your eyes, sweetheart.”
She did as he said, trusting him implicitly as he poured the warm water over her hair, his fingers threading through the strands with the gentlest touch. He took his time washing her hair, massaging her scalp with steady, soothing movements that made her practically purr.
By the time he was finished, she felt weightless, like every last trace of stress had been washed away along with the suds.
Bucky shifted slightly, reaching for the soap. “Your turn,” she murmured sleepily, turning in his arms so she could return the favor.
He raised a brow, smirking. “I think I like being pampered more than I should.”
She laughed softly, rolling her eyes as she lathered the soap between her hands before running them over his broad shoulders, tracing the lines of his muscles. “Big bad Winter Soldier likes bubble baths. Who would’ve thought?” she teased.
“Only when my best girl is in them with me,” he shot back without missing a beat.
Warmth spread through her chest, and she didn’t bother fighting the smile that tugged at her lips. She took her time washing him, running her fingers through the short strands of his hair, over the defined muscles of his back, down his arms. When she reached his vibranium arm, she hesitated for only a moment before pressing a soft kiss to the cool metal.
Bucky went still, his breath catching for the briefest second before he let out a quiet exhale, resting his forehead against hers.
“I love you,” she whispered again, just because she could.
His grip tightened on her waist, like he needed to anchor himself to the moment. “Love you too, Doll,” he murmured, voice barely above a breath.
Eventually, the water started to cool, and Bucky pressed one last kiss to her shoulder before reluctantly shifting. “Come on, sweetheart. Let’s get you dried off and into bed.”
She sighed dramatically, making no move to get up. “Carry me?”
Bucky chuckled, rolling his eyes fondly before standing and lifting her effortlessly into his arms. She let out a sleepy giggle, tucking her face into the crook of his neck as he stepped out of the tub, wrapping her in a fluffy towel before grabbing one for himself.
As he carried her into the bedroom, she sighed contentedly. “Best night ever.”
Bucky grinned, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Good. ‘Cause I plan on making this a regular thing.”
She hummed, already half-asleep in his arms. “M’not gonna argue with that.”
Bucky just chuckled, holding her a little tighter, savoring the warmth of her in his arms, the quiet, perfect peace of the moment. For the first time in a long time, everything felt right. And as he tucked her into bed, wrapping himself around her like he never wanted to let go, he knew there was nowhere else in the world he’d rather be.

PT. 1 EX! READER X EX! ACE
Description: Angst but also ridiculous-extra stupid-shit. Reader does some wrong but so will Ace. HAPPY ENDING (No one dies and everyone gets what they need in the end) MODERN AU!!
WORD COUNT: 3680
Prologue
Tumblr media
“And you are sure you are getting the promotion today?” Nami raised an eyebrow over to you.
You roll your eyes, “Psh… Nami, you realize who I am right? Cecil adores me, and we already know she’s going to retire. I think she’s calling me in the office because she’s retiring even earlier than accepted, I mean, she’s old as shit.”
“Ugh… she lectured me on how girls her age didn’t wear skirts as short as mine when they were my age… it was below my knee, Y/N. AND I’m not even in the marketing department, I’m in finance, why was she even concerned about me?!”
“Well when I am Chief of Marketing to take her place, I will instead encourage you to wear sexy outfits, Nami.” You wink exaggeratedly.
Nami smiles and shakes her head, “Flattering, but HR might not find that as entertaining as we do.”
“Oh yeah that’s not good.” You pause and fake sigh, “Our love will have to be hidden.”
Nami sheds a fake tear, “We are like the platonic Romeo and Juliet… you know… without the death… and pedophilia…”
“A shame I think it would add drama and spice … the death part- not the pedophilia, obviously.” You sigh and place a hand on Nami’s shoulder, “We are unintentionally HR’s worst nightmare I think.”
She shrugs, “Jinbei will understand.”
You stop at a large entrance with two tall engraved wooden doors with shiny golden knobs, a small white and black houndstooth placemat in front of the door, looking out of place compared to the modern marble floor, white walls, and bold furniture and paintings along the rest of the hallway. You had felt the peculiar feeling of walking through those doors a million times before, it was like time traveling back 50 years. How Cecil, a woman who had seen the dinosaurs and who did not bear the resolve to advance her views further than the 1700s became Chief of MARKETING for a RESORT company? Well nobody was exactly sure, by all means it made no sense. Cecil liked you because you sucked up to her, but made sure the company still advanced by undermining just about every request she had. In fact you were sure if Cecil were left to her own devices, Sabo and the folks in the law department would be drowning in lawsuits.
You turn back to Nami one last time, “My outfit look modest enough?”
Nami nodded, “I can’t wait for you to be able to wear clothes that fit. I’ve seen your actual closet…” She raked your body up and down, making sure to focus on the bland gray and horrid shoes. “...This is a crime in comparison.
“Great. Wish me luck.” You raise up your hand for a high five, to which Nami immediately reciprocates, before stomping off in her purple skirt and blouse with beautiful jewelry that might have given Cecil a heart attack had she seen it.
You knock on the door, “Chief Brookes?”
“Come in!” Her scraggly voice calls out.
You open the door and step through, careful to shut the door and resist walking down the horrifically long, green brown rug Cecil used to guide a pathway to her desk.
“Ah. Y/N.” She gives a smile. Though she was around 68, she looked more to be in her mid-fifties. Absolutely gorgeous woman with a smile that makes you feel safe. That is, until she cuts into you with jabs about your work and overall appearance. Not only that, but so terrible at her job that higher management has been waiting for her to retire. They have come to the conclusion that waiting for her to either kick it or retire in an eccentric manner is better than having to fire her. “My favorite protege.”
Only protege. No part of Cecil Brooke’s favor towards you was accidental. Though part of you had to admire Cecil’s spite and lack of tact. Your admiration might be deeper had she actually been good at her job. “Hello Mrs. Brookes.” You carefully walk up to her desk with a polite smile.
She smiles wider, “You know I’d rather you call me Cecil.” She lies. She enjoys the hierarchy culture. “Sit sit!”
You carefully pull out the chair and sit down. Making a show of laying your hands down in your lap gently, a stark contrast from the person your team has seen these last few years, “Can I ask what you called me in for?"
Cecil nods and her expression hardens. She grabs a tissue box from across her desk and places it in between you two. “Just in case…”
Good sign.
“I called you in here because… very tragically and very suddenly… I have decided to cut my career short.”
‘If she considers that short, I can only grieve for her husband’s self esteem.’
“What?” You make a point of furrowing your eyebrows, “With all due respect-“ which is none. “-You can’t just quit when the company needs you so desperately.”
“I know it’s a lot to take in. You must be shocked.”
“I’m flabbergasted.”
“It’s tragic, truly.”
“Truly” you nod, slowly shifting your expression from false outrage, to false disbelief, to false sadness.
“Don’t worry.” She reaches her hand over yours, “I will still be here for 4 weeks. I will teach you everything you need to know…”
‘Even better sign.’
“I am… heavily considering recommending you to take on my position.”
You gasp, “Mrs. Brookes! I couldn’t-“
“You can.” She smiles, “With my guidance over the next few weeks, I believe I can teach you my ways. I will be testing you along the way though. It won’t be easy.”
‘Anything is easier than trying to make our marketing department mediocre at best with you rejecting all of our ideas.‘
“I understand. I am honored to be in your thoughts…”
She puts her hand over her heart, “You just remind me of myself so much.” She sighs, “Well then… I guess that’s it. I will follow up with you later.” She shakes your hand.
You say your goodbyes and walk down the vomit inducing carpet. It would be the first thing to go.
“Y/N? One more thing for tomorrow.”
——————————————————————
You stand near the entrance of one of the interview rooms on the first floor. The one HR usually uses for interviews. Today, it was your interview room, along with Cecil’s if she ever decided to show up. The possible employee would be there in 20 minutes, 10 if they decide to be smart and come off as a try hard. Cecil’s favorite breed of person.
“Y/N?” You hear a familiar voice call out. Sabo. Team 5 leader in the law department, brother of two significant people in your life. Luffy and your ex boyfriend. Though it’s apparent your ex refrained from giving details of the relationship’s end by Sabo’s continued comfortability and friendship with you, though this day it didn’t seem so. “What are… you doing here?” He gives a strained toothy smile.
“Waiting for Cecil so we can start this interview.”
“Right… but… wouldn’t the… team manager the position is under be doing the interview?” He stays smiling, though it gets more and more unsettling as he whips his head around, “Isn’t it supposed to be Yamato doing the interview? Where is heeee?” He laughs in a rather scared manner.
“Change of plans. New employee is under my team until further notice.” You raise an eyebrow at him, “Why?”
“…No reason.” Sabo squeaks out, “Bye now!” Just like that, he is turning the corner on his heel as fast as he can. You hear a thud at one point followed by a curse but you try to ignore it.
Cecil appears from around the corner, dressed like a neon Cruella De’Vil. Her makeup masking her natural olden beauty with a clown color palette. She gives you a curt nod and unlocks the door, expecting you to follow along with her actions wordlessly and fluently. Thank goodness after years of staring her down to copy her mannerisms, this comes easy. You both sit next to each other in the room as Cecil decides to speak her first word of the day, “I will finish my section, then you will speak your peace. I will give you a 50% say in this. Since the new graphic artist will be under your team. Your first test is managing a new employee on top of the new marketi-“ something something something.
You just nod and smile until she is interrupted by a knock on the door, followed by a muffled sound sounding like Sabo’s voice saying ‘you can just open it’ whoever it is decided that this is a great idea and finally turns the knob. You glance down at the paper you realize you have yet to read any of or review at all. Drinking with your girls out of excitement took up valuable time. You hear the sudden stop of steps as you stay glued to the page, determined to at least scan over the resume-
Portgas D. Ace: Grand Line Resort, Graphic Artist job application.
No. No. No. You look up to meet the face you’ve avoided for a good 5 years. Chocolate brown eyes, splatters of freckles, muscled physique, bronze skin…
You can’t read his mind but if you could you are sure it would be the same thought as yours.
Fuck.
———-
“Fuck” A man you assume is Luffy’s brother says as he stares at you. Frozen like a deer in headlights.
He was coming out of the bathroom. Quickly going to grab a towel from the hallway closet in the flat he shared with his brothers. How was he supposed to know one of Luffy’s… hot friends would be here? The one he would eye across the one class he had with you during a professor’s boring lecture?
Your eyes unintentionally drift down as you try to comprehend what you are seeing. You quickly regret it. Your eyes dart up and you try to forget what you’ve already seen.
You two make eye contact for a few seconds before he, still wide eyed, closes the door while you dart down the hallway. You aren’t going to forget that first impression anytime soon.
————
You remember your first legitimate sight of Ace, a memory that is not helping you in this situation at all. A different memory seems to be playing in Ace’s head by the look on his face as he takes in your appearance. Looking for changes maybe.
Ace shakes Cecil’s hand casually, but falters when he reaches you. What is he going to do? Pretend like he doesn’t know you?
“Good afternoon. I’m Ace, last name is Portgas.” He smiles at you but you can read in between the lines. He is as unprepared as you are.
Though Ace is smiling and behaving semi-normal despite the situation, you are sure your body language and facial expressions convey your true thoughts. You sit there still as a brick as Cecil gestures for him to take a seat.
He doesn’t look at you. Cecil introduces you at one point but his eyes look almost past you. Cecil doesn’t seem to notice anything off about his demeanor, but you do. He runs his fingers through his hair one to many times, his blinking is way too fast, he leans forward too much, and the arm closest to you isn’t on the table like the other one is. Details you aren’t sure how you remember.
Questions go by, when answering Cecil’s questions he turns to your direction but his eyes stare right past you as he answers. As soon as he turns to you his breathing quickens, his hand clenches and his shoulders tense. All things you notice before he turns back to Cecil to make eye contact with her.
Cecil coughs and turns her head in your direction. You know what for, though you’d rather be anywhere but here. You cross your fingers and hope you and Cecil don’t have the same questions since you were not at all paying attention.
“So, Mr. Portgas, how did you hear about this job?” You tilt your head curiously.
He takes a breath as soon as you speak your first word. He looks like he’s holding onto every word as you speak. “My brother works here… he recommended this position because I have an art major.”
You nod. Sabo must’ve been shaken because of you interviewing and having Ace in your team, “Impressive. And what can you bring to the position?” You squint your eyes skeptically
Ace freezes, “I believe…” he loosens his tie nervously.
You glance at Cecil, who is taking note of his behavior. Cutthroat bitch. Part of you is internally celebrating at the prospect of Ace not being a potential employee, but the other half is begging him to get it together.
“I can bring a new and innovative point of view to the team. Though this is my first legitimate office job and that can be a challenge to adjust to… but I’m not worn down from the job or stuck to the old way of doing things because of it.” It’s a decent answer, though Cecil doesn’t seem to appreciate his response.
You can see Ace is overthinking his answer in his mind, though his proud smirk says otherwise. He wants this done as soon as possible. Quite frankly, so do you. “That’s it for me. Thank you.” You say as quickly as possible.
Ace mumbles, “Thank you.”
Cecil didn’t seem too impressed with that either.
…That’s a good thing, yeah?
Cecil’s lips purse as she stares back at him, “Here at Hiraeth Resort, though our other departments may embrace new innovation, I have been sure to play our cards safely by using the same technique all these years. I’m afraid this might not be what you are looking for out of a job.”
Ace’s eyebrows furrow at her response, quickly scanning over your face, searching for something, a reaction to her words. The disbelief that you had confined yourself to a job like this etched across his features. His eyes linger on the bland gray and the jewelry metal that differed from your usual. You told him to never buy jewelry in that color, “I assure you I will do a great job no matter what your focus is.”
“...” Cecil analyzes his response before waving her hand, “That is it for me, we will get back to you at some point. I’m sure somebody appreciates the time you spent in this interview.”
That one stung.
You see Ace’s jaw clench and his features narrow before he sighs, “Thank you for your time Mrs. Brookes and… Ms. L/N.” He sends you a look of deep rooted betrayal masked by a layer of professionalism and longing. You aren’t sure which part of it is worse.
He reaches for a handshake from Cecil, which she does not reciprocate. He hesitantly reaches out for yours, hand shaky. He starts to pull back after a second, but you reach out to meet his hand. The handshake is brief, but the shiver the contact brings you is downright embarrassing.
As soon as that door shuts, Cecil turns to you, “Absolutely not.”
“...Why?” You should probably just nod and agree like you would with anyone else, no matter how qualified you believed they were. Something stops you.
She almost laughs, “He’s a disaster, sure some of his responses were decent… but a new point of view? Creativity? His job is to draw designs for the company mascot and posters! Look at this portfolio. ¼ of it is tattoo designs.”
“Everyone starts somewhere. He has a ton of job experience, it’s not all tattoo designs. He’s done posters and logos for restaurants and other businesses.”
“Ah yes, because a former firefighter will be very helpful in this job field.” She reads off the job list on Ace’s resume.
Hot. “It shows determination and sacrifice.” And it’s hot.
“I just don’t think he’s a good fit for the company.”
You fiddle with your rings, a color you despise, but it is Cecil’s preferred metal. “He has potential, I believe.”
She turns towards you, disbelief in her eyes, “You’re really for this guy?”
If she finds out about you two having dated, a clear conflict of interest, your chances at that promotion fly away.
You slowly nod, “I think he could be helped.”
Cecil scowls before sighing, “4 week paid internship, at the end of my time here, I will decide if he gets the job or not. You are in charge of shaping him to my standards.”
Your breath hitches. 4 weeks of constant… Ace? Nightmare, horrible idea.
“...Yes ma’am. I will not disappoint you.”
She grabs her pen and writes something down, “You best not, your job future is riding on the line as well. Dismissed.”
—------------------------------------
Nami waves you down frantically as you are headed to the local coffee shop after work, a distressed Sabo and Koala next to her.
Nami gestures for you to sit down, which you reluctantly comply with, death staring at all three of them while they give you nervous smiles.
“You all knew?” You ask.
They nod.
“So did everyone else…” Sabo cringes, “But we didn’t think he was going to be under your team… so…”
“Right…”
“Listen… We know the situation is.. Rocky… but Ace needs the job… and there has been a lot going on for him. He got fired from the fire station after breaking Teach’s arm because he insulted pops.” Koala adds
Thank god he didn’t put the fire station as a reference.
“So far one person is for his hiring and the other wants him as far away from her and her department as possible.” You comment.
You immediately are met with a mix of pleading, disappointment and very subtle… threats? The last from Sabo, mainly.
“Guys.”
They continue. “GUYS!” Their attention finally is on you, “I am for hiring Ace, it’s Cecil who is against it”
Nami pauses and looks up at you, “...That checks out… actually.”
“I may not want Ace to be in proximity to me, but I won’t deny him a job. He has 4 weeks of a paid internship before Cecil decides if he gets a permanent job or not. Believe it or not, I defended Ace, no matter how-” You sigh, “... He is.”
—-------------------------
Sabo opens the door to Ace’s apartment, watching for a moment as pots and pans are roughly dropped on the counter as Ace stomps from fridge to cabinet to counter. “What.” Ace roughly lets out, not making eye contact with Sabo.
“...How’d the interview go…?” He awkwardly smiles. Ace whips his head up and scowls, the expression on his face giving all answers, “Right…”
Ace exhales deeply, “As soon as I saw her there I just knew… Why would you even let me go if you knew before that it was happening? Life just adores me, clearly. We break up, then I finally find some peace with my firefighting job, now that’s over and I come face to face with her. Waiting for her judgment, jobless, unworthy like some pathetic…! Ugh…” He rubs his temples, “I didn’t even read the email, I don’t want to deal with it. I should’ve just stayed at the tattoo shop, but I need to make enough to travel and… Jesus.”
Sabo stays silent before quietly glancing at Ace’s computer, pictures of your instagram open. He gives a wide-eyed stare back at Ace, who closes it and tosses it on his couch. Sabo ignores it and continues his thought, “Y/N defended you. Cecil despised you, but she says that you are being given a 4 week paid internship. Cecil- Mrs. Brookes- will decide at the end of it whether you actually get the job…” He gives a smile and a shrug, “Do with that information what you will.”
—--------------------------
Reason One to hate Portgas D. Ace:
He’s uncooperative
You point the camera back at the tall tan man across from you, trying to forget you have seen this aggravating man naked on your first meeting, “You realize we are doing this interview for you guys’ sakes right? All freshman basketball players this year. You’re on the starting lineup, so people are actually looking at you. And all the answers you have given me are inadequate.”
Ace leans back in his chair with a sigh, “I don’t see the point, really. I’m not trying to go to the NBA or anything.”
“Why?” You say, intrigued.
“...I don’t know?”
You throw your hands up, “Oh. My. God!”
“Why are you doing this anyway? Shouldn’t some sports journalism majors be doing this?”
“They all got caught using Chegg on their assignments and sharing answers in a group chat, so now me and some other Marketing students with a journalism minor have to do it.”
“...Oh.”
You groan, “Let’s try this again, why don’t you want to do basketball after college?”
Ace inhales, “...I don’t know… I guess… I mean… I like it, but I mostly do it because of the people on the team. Also it’s too much publicity… worrying about stepping on people’s toes and shit. Doing it professionally just seems… wrong… I don’t really know what I want to do with my life that I’d be good enough at…”
You turn off the camera, it didn’t seem like the type of response that should be recorded. For a split second, there was no camera, there was no mini microphone you had attached to his shirt. There was no 5 foot distance between the couch he was sitting on, his posture now up straight. It was just… you and this guy. Granted it was a guy you had first “met” when he was naked coming out of his bathroom, but still. Just you. Just you and ‘Ace’  “...It’s freshman year, you still have some time.” You shrug.
“...Yeah…”
You shake your head and turn on the camera again, “Uhh… now for the other questions.”

Your day had done rather well, Maul seemed to have a bit of an attitude but when did he not. While going through some documents for Dathomir and noticed something odd, every single deal had involved Maul and strangely they all involved someone named Savage Opress, you presumed he was the Dathomirian advisor but why would he be a man. The night sister ran the organisation right?
You walked over to Maul who was seated in an office at the end of the hall. The red Zebrak looked at you with pure annoyance “Hey Maul, I noticed something on the papers for Dathomir.” He glanced up from his computer “and that would be?” Maul always had that stern face it was quite hard to explain, the only way you could describe it was that it was the total opposite of obi wans. “Well, there’s a man named Savage Opress but I thought it was a woman owned company?” You asked a bit hesitant.
“That would be my brother, he works for the company” he made eye contact and continued “you don’t know a thing about Dathomirs history, do you?” You were indeed a bit out of your depth. "When we go to the night sisters tomorrow, let me do the talking “ he stated “Are you satisfied with your answer?” He went back to typing “I think so.” He pointed to the door “then go.”
Maker, he was petty. Closing the door behind, you let out a long sigh. Maul could be really tiresome to be around. You heard a huffed set of laughs. Looking over to the desks, you saw Quinlan trying to hush himself and his desk friends Kit and Obi wan.
You walked over, hardly able to keep from laughing yourself. “Did he kick you out of his office?” Obi wan questioned with a mischievous smile on his face “he did, why does he have an office anyways?” Maul sat at the back of the office normally. “He threatened Rex for it" Quinlan giggled out. “Maker, I can't imagine how bad it must be to work with him,” Kit let out with a loud sigh.
You took a bit of offence, sure maul could be arrogant, prideful and a downright rude but he was a hard worker that just seemed a bit guarded. “It really isn’t that bad, he works really hard and we get along somewhat well!" Quinlan passed a look towards obi wan “Wouldn’t you want to work with someone else?” You thought it was a bit of a strange question. “I mean it's sometimes a bit difficult but he knows a lot of stuff about Dathomir, I don’t think anyone else would be more suited for the job. His brother even works there.” You ended with a bit of a smile.
Rex's voice boomed from the front desk, you rushed back over to your desk. There was a man standing next to Rex that you didn’t recognise “Y/n this is is Bail Organa, HR representative and a weekly nuisance “ you were a bit taken aback by that. "I thought I planned the meeting on Monday next week, did you not get the email?” he let out a rumble laugh “I don't check emails from my branches, I thought it would be a good idea to check up on how you blended in with your peers” that was nice at least. Rex started awkwardly stepping away back to his office. He must have been uncomfortable, you thought.
Bail guided you to a nearby conference room (which really was more like a table with 6 seats). He pulled out a chair and crossed the room to sit in front of it. You took the seat. “So tell me how you’re blending in?” Bail asked “Well I'm doing rather well. My first day was a bit of a hassle but I think I’m really getting the hang of it now” you beamed. You liked your new job a lot, the hours were kind, the people were ever kinder and your pay was great. “I heard you were late a few times, may I ask why?” He looked at you nonchalantly. “Well my car broke down on my way over on that infamous first day." "Did you find a good garage?" he asked, ''Yeah , Its called MustaCar and they’re fixing up the car as we speak. It took them almost an hour to get there but they did it.” Bail looked shocked when you said MustaCar "Who was your mechanic?” He questioned a big to quickly “Anakin Skywalker.” that was one name you weren’t going to forget quickly. He nodded and smiled. “Are there any other things you would like to speak about?” You shook your head “No, not really.”
Bail shook your hand as you both left the room, you noticed that he walked over towards Obi Wan but his hologram went off before he could get there. He bid a quick sympathetic goodbye to the paper company before walking away. And your day continued as normal.
You walked down the stairs to the parking lot to catch your ride home, 'Shaggy' the minivan. Qui Gon was standing by the beauty but Obi Wan was nowhere in sight. “Hey y/n, how was your day?” He greeted you warmly “My day was pretty great. How long do you think we need to wait on Obi Wan?” He let out a laugh “He kept talking too much so now he's running behind with his work, which means i will give him a lift later." He looked at you knowingly but of what you didn’t know. “Are you in a rush?” He asked “Yup, could you drop me off at this address? “ You had written it down back at your desk because Shaggy didn’t have a GPS. “Well then we better get going!” Qui Gon said while stepping into his car.
It didn’t take too long for you to get there. MustaCar...” was all Qui Gon let out before bidding you goodbye and you did the same.
Tumblr media
Stepping out of the vehicle you wave your thanks to Qui Gon before walking the short distance to MustaCar. Making your way into the reception, you are greeted by a gruff man who tells you to go out back to see your beloved Shelby. Pushing open the door you are greeted by a ball of fur curling around your legs. Bending down, you pat the sandy loth cat before spotting your shining glory. Shelby sits looking rather sad but nevertheless still beautiful. You cross the distance to her, loth cat in tow, and run your hand over her blue bonnet.
“She won’t be done for a while you know?” the voice from beside you makes you jump out of your skin. “Didn’t mean to scare you” Anakin says smoothly, leaning on the side of shelby. You walk around the car, checking that she hasn’t acquired any scratches or dents.”I swear I haven’t damaged her one bit, my apprentice has been working on her mostly” he pauses “but don’t worry she knows what she is doing.”
You up at the apprentice, noticing his ruffled hair and rolled up sleeves. ‘Damn’ is all you think to yourself before shutting out those ideas circling your head. He was just a guy after all. With enough charm to sink a battleship. You mentally elbow yourself before speaking; “how long is a while?” “At least another few weeks, parts are difficult to ship in at the moment” He explains before shooting you a winning smile, “means I get to look at you more often if you continue to stop by.” You roll your eyes at him, maybe to make up for the feeling in your gut.
Interrupting Anakin's remarks, the loth cat wanders up to you and makes a sound that basically implies ‘attention please’. You bend down to pat it, but it gets a different idea and basically jumps onto you, luckily your reflected kick in and you manage to place your hand around it. It settles comfortably in your arms and you are able to stand back up. You hear Anakin let out a laugh. “Sorry, she’s new to the place” he says, “showed up the other day, hungry, but very friendly.” You nod, giving the animal a scratch behind its large, pointed ears.
“She is very friendly, does she have a name?” you question, looking at the creature's large, chocolatey eyes. “Snips wanted to name her Honey.” “I can see why, she is very honey coloured.” He smiles “yeah, and sickly sweet.” The cat nudges your shoulder playfully, and you scratch under its chin. “I can tell” you laugh.
“Hate to break up your bonding session” a female voice says as she walks over. You recognise her as Ahsoka, Anakin’s teenages apprentice. “But the boss wants to see you” She points an accusing finger at the man beside you. He nods before turning to face you, “I'll see you around sweetheart.” He shoots you a winning grin before he walks off inside the building. Ahsoka rolls her eyes dramatically before beginning to tell you exactly what she has been doing to your Shelby.
You are left with a strange feeling in your gut and a lot of questions to ask yourself.
Tumblr media
So sorry this took so long. We live in different parts of the world and planning can get tricky. We will definitely finish this project anyways… We hope you enjoy <3

How to be a Jock Ch.7: Work
Tumblr media
(ID:https://www.instagram.com/fitbidlan/?hl=en)
You don’t need a work-life balance when your work is your life. The Jock derives joy from performance. From success and objective measures of victory and hard fucking work.
For a jock their paycheck and the numbers they pull in for their job are as much a thrilling rush as their days crushing skulls on the court. The line just gets higher. That’s all they care about. Coming in an hour early and leaving only when they’ve given 110%. A real company man through and through. Winning promotion after promotion, award beyond measure.
They’ll smile for their “Best quarterly earner” photo, but inside it’s a different story. An almost psychotic drive. Fiery passion and bloodlust mixed with frigid calm and efficiency. Willing to do anything, step on anyone’s back to get to the top of the ladder and then kick it down after them. Because unlike most of the other worker drones, they aren’t working for someone else; not really. They might have a boss but they are basically interchangeable. Just a place filler while the Jock climbs their way to the top. Maybe a source of hatred and vitriol, or perhaps being a cause for inspiration and aspiration. But ultimately just another enemy. Another obstacle to be broken in half and left on the field.
*Subtle demonic whispers here*
Take Karan for example. A young up-and-comer in the Avis Athletics Agency. Scouted from university specifically after the recruiting agent saw him take down a guy twice his weight on the wrestling mat in a minute flat. Dude never broke a sweat, every second with that soft but piercing glare of absolute victory. Like his opponent was just an object to be manipulated for his own pleasure and purpose. He didn't let go of that Death grip until the Ref shook off his astonishment and counted the poor jobber out. A perfect fit for an internship at our illustrious corporation.
He’s such a good team player too. Practically integrated with all of the other interns and made them into a single unit. A well-oiled regiment that followed orders and executed them with deadly efficiency. Best Copy-and-coffee squad the office has ever had. But of course, Karan was never satisfied. He plays his work like a game. Just another sport to break records with. Get the high score at one level, move on to the next, collect all of the rewards, leave destruction in your wake.
The CEO saw him wait around until his team member clocked out, only to kick his fucking teeth in in the parking lot for holding him back on his reports. It was decided that his talents would be better served at a higher level. One where that drive and deadly commitment to efficiency could make some real profit. That and the HR policies covered actual employees better than interns. So he got the job, no question. Along with a well negotiated 6 figure starting salary with stock options later down the line. Plus access to the 24 hour boxing gym on site so we could make sure we keep those interns for a little bit longer.

How Aima’s Management Aptitude Test Sets You Apart in Today’s Competitive World
In today’s fast-paced academic and professional landscape, success depends heavily on making informed decisions. One such important decision is choosing the right aptitude test to assess your skills and plan your future. A management aptitude test plays a crucial role for students and working professionals who want to pursue a career in business, leadership, or management roles.
These tests help evaluate critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and leadership potential — all of which are essential in the world of management. Among the various testing options available, AIMA stands out as a trusted name that offers a structured, industry-relevant, and highly respected management aptitude assessment.
Let’s explore how the right aptitude test, especially the one offered by Aima, can be a turning point for your career journey.
Why Take a Management Aptitude Test?
It’s a gateway to discovering your potential in the field of business and management. This type of test is designed to assess a candidate’s ability to think strategically, analyze situations, manage data, communicate ideas, and solve real-world problems under time constraints.
Whether you are aiming for admission to a management program or applying for a managerial job, aptitude testing gives you a competitive edge. It reflects your capabilities to institutions and employers and helps you stand out from the crowd.
The Role of Aptitude Tests in Career Planning
Taking a professional aptitude test early in your academic or professional journey can make a big difference. It helps you:
Identify strengths and weaknesses
Understand which career paths match your skillset
Prepare for interviews, entrance exams, or job assessments
Make confident decisions about your future
For those who want to explore careers in leadership, marketing, finance, HR, or operations, a focused management aptitude test is an ideal starting point. This is where Aima plays a critical role by offering a well-balanced, modern, and effective test that aligns with today’s industry demands.

Ideal for Both Students and Working Professionals
Whether you're a student looking to get into a management program or a professional aiming to move into a leadership role, a good aptitude test can help guide your next step.

Professionals can take the test to evaluate their readiness for promotions, job changes, or further studies.
Aima’s test is designed with both groups in mind, making it a powerful tool for anyone aiming to build a successful management career.
Recognized by Institutions and Industry Leaders
One of the strongest advantages of Aima’s management aptitude test is its recognition by top management colleges and companies. Many institutions use the scores as part of their admission or recruitment process, making it a trusted and valuable credential.
This recognition ensures that the effort you put into preparing for and taking the test adds value to your resume or application.
Why Choose Aima?

How to Prove Genuine Vacancy for Skilled Worker Visa Sponsorship
Ensuring you have a genuine vacancy is a vital first step in sponsoring a skilled overseas worker in the UK. Businesses must show that a paid role truly exists and meets the sponsor licence requirements set by UK Visas. Demonstrating this correctly strengthens your application, protects your licence, and builds trust with UKVI officials.
Why proving a genuine vacancy matters
Safeguarding the UK job market
Since December 2020, employers no longer need to advertise publicly before hiring a skilled overseas worker—but they must still prove the role is genuine and necessary. This protects local workers while allowing businesses to access essential talent when UK candidates aren’t available.
Avoiding licence penalties
Tumblr media
If UKVI suspects a role is bogus—created merely to secure a visa—they may refuse the application, revoke your licence, or impose heavy restrictions. Keeping clear, documented evidence helps satisfy compliance and maintain your sponsorship privileges.
Understanding the UKVI genuine vacancy test
Does the role really exist?
You must prove the position is genuinely required by your business. The duties must match what’s described in your job advert and aligned with your company’s operations .
Isn’t the role unsuitable?
A genuine vacancy must meet the skilled worker job eligibility criteria—correct skill level, SOC code, and minimum salary threshold. It should not be downgraded or inflated simply to satisfy visa requirements.
Was it created just for sponsorship?
UKVI will check whether the job was tailored to exclude UK talent—descriptions or requirements shouldn’t be set to deter local applicants.
Gathering evidence effectively
Job descriptions & organisational fit
Keep copies of job descriptions, your business structure, and how the role supports your company’s scale and plans. These documents should reflect real operational needs.
Recruitment records
If you advertised the vacancy, retain advert screenshots, dates, platforms used, and the number of applicants. Include interview summaries and explain your hiring decision.
Sponsor licence data
Document your Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), confirm the job meets sponsor licence requirements, and record how the worker was recruited—essential material when responding to Home Office enquiries.
Compliance documentation
Save HR procedures, job offer letters, and records showing the worker’s role aligns with your genuine vacancy test obligations under SW 6.2 and 6.3 of the Skilled Worker Annex.
Common challenges and how to overcome them
Unadvertised roles
It’s acceptable not to advertise every vacancy, but you must clearly explain the recruitment route—for example, internal promotion or specialist outreach—and provide supporting documents .
Salary and skill level
Ensure the position meets the skilled worker job eligibility standards—correct skill level and threshold salary. If either is incorrect, UKVI will reject the CoS or application.
Role mismatch
UKVI may question roles that seem inconsistent with your business activity. Be ready to clarify why this role is essential and aligns with your operations .
Steps to strengthen your application
Understand requirements fully
Make sure your team reads the UKVI genuine vacancy test guidance and the sponsor compliance rules carefully. Use them as a checklist for gathering evidence.
Keep clear records
A paper trail matters. Save adverts, recruitment steps, interview notes, and CoS records. This helps answer any UKVI queries or audits.
Get specialist support
Consider working with corporate immigration advisors or immigration advisors UK who offer sponsor licence assistance and can guide you through each stage, including documentary compliance.
Regular audits and training
Conduct internal reviews of vacancy evidence and CoS use. Train hiring teams to understand the sponsor licence requirements and broader sponsorship duties.
Benefits of getting it right
Stronger compliance, reduced risk
Following the genuine vacancy test instils confidence with UKVI and avoids licence cancellation or rejection.
Access to global talent
Once verified, you are better placed to recruit expertise from abroad, strengthening your business competitiveness.
Future business growth
Strong compliance supports additional routes like Scale Up visa assistance, intra-company transfers, or hiring overseas worker programmes.
Conclusion
By proving a genuine vacancy—with clear job descriptions, recruitment evidence, aligned roles, and proper documentation—you satisfy UKVI’s rules, including sponsor licence requirements and skilled worker job eligibility. This delivers smoother skilled worker visa sponsorship, stronger business compliance, and access to global talent.
For help with a sponsor licence or help with a skilled worker visa application for an employee, UK Visas offers expert corporate immigration assistance and immigration support services for UK businesses. Talk to our team and ensure your skilled worker sponsorship journey starts on solid ground

She Replaces the Fire Safety Certificate Quietly — But Keeps Everyone Safe Speechless
In a busy office skyscraper in the center of Singapore, meetings are booked, deadlines are achieved, and deals are sealed — all in silence as someone quietly keeps the whole building safe from one of the most lethal perils of all: fire.
She doesn't wear a badge or blow a whistle. But annually, anonymously, she performs one important job: she  renew fire safety certificate Singapore mandates. It's a low-key duty, one that doesn't get noticed — until it counts most.
Let's enter the realm of the unseen people — those who keep us safe, yet frequently without our even noticing. And let's dig deeper into why the renewal process to renew fire safety certificate Singapore requires is more than just checking a regulatory box.
The Certificate That Protects Everyone
The fire safety certificate Singapore requires is a formal certificate issued by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). It is a guarantee that a building's fire protection measures — from alarms to sprinklers, exit signs to fire extinguishers — are functioning and well-maintained.
But that's not all. This certificate is to be renewed every year.  renew fire safety certificate Singapore isn't a regulation for regulations' sake — it's a mechanism to provide ongoing protection against changing perils, shifting regulations, and declining infrastructure.
And someone —usually someone unassuming and out of the spotlight — is taking this responsibility to heart.
Why Renewal Is More Than Just Paperwork
To those not used to building operations,  renew fire safety certificate Singapore needs may appear as straightforward admin work. But those who've gone through the process know better.
From coordinating professional inspections and submitting technical reports, to coordinating fire drills and interacting with SCDF,  renew fire safety certificate Singapore is a several-step, compliance-driven process. It demands diligence, precision, and most of all — care.
Because when it all goes pear-shaped — when a fire alarm fails to go off or an emergency exit is obstructed — lives are lost. And that's why this quiet yearly ritual counts so much.
Drako Fire: Renewing with Confidence
Enter Drako Fire, Singapore's reliable brand of fire protection services. Drako Fire has serviced numerous businesses and building owners in the years past to renew fire safety certificate Singapore requirements — with reliability, compliance know-how, and personal dedication.

When you do business with Drako Fire, you don't only meet the standard. You maintain the safety and peace of mind of all who enter your building.
What If You Don't Renew?
The repercussions for not  renew fire safety certificate Singapore aren't only legal — they're profoundly personal.
Companies can be shut down or face hefty fines.
Insurance claims can be invalidated if a fire breaks out during a gap.
Tenants, staff, and consumers are at greater risk.
Homeowners lose credibility and trust.
That is, to miss a renewal isn't just to impact paperwork. It impacts lives, livelihoods, and reputations.
The Quiet Heroes of Fire Safety
There is someone like her in every building — someone who looks after the unseen things that make us safe. Perhaps it's the facilities manager who reviews the alarm reports. Perhaps it's the HR executive who organises the drill every year. Perhaps it's the admin team who coordinates with get the renewal forms done timely.
They don't demand credit. They don't share it online. Yet their efforts may be the difference between life and death for everybody if there ever is a fire.
How to Renew Fire Safety Certificate Singapore Requires
Following is a step-by-step guide to keep you ahead:
Hire a certified fire safety expert
Inspection and testing of systems
Obtain and audit maintenance history
Submit all documents to SCDF prior to the expiry date
Coordinate building inspections and fire drills if necessary
Get the updated certificate for another year of safety
Having professionals such as do the work can eliminate the stress factor, providing certainty and accuracy.
Conclusion
The next time you enter an office building, a shopping mall, or even your residence complex, take a moment to appreciate the unobtrusive systems — and individuals — that protect you.
To keep fire safety certificate Singapore requires may seem minor. But it symbolizes something much greater: concern, stewardship, and a strong passion for the welfare of other people.

5 Incredible Workflow Automation for Business Owners: Your 24/7 Employee That Never Sleeps
Tumblr media
Introduction to AI Automated Workflows
Imagine having a team member who never sleeps, never makes mistakes, and always delivers on time. No breaks, no burnout—just pure, consistent performance around the clock. Sounds too good to be true? Welcome to the new era of workflow automation. For business owners, time and precision are the most valuable assets. Whether you're managing client requests, processing invoices, or coordinating marketing campaigns, repetitive manual tasks can steal hours from your day. Workflow automation offers a smarter, faster, and more cost-effective way to handle those processes—liberating you to focus on the big-picture growth strategies that drive your company forward. In today’s ultra-competitive business environment, staying ahead isn’t just about working harder—it’s about working smarter. Workflow automation doesn’t replace your team; it enhances their capabilities, eliminating bottlenecks and creating seamless processes that deliver better results with less effort. In this guide, we’ll break down five brilliant ways workflow automation is transforming how business owners operate—from smarter task management to future-proofing your company with scalable systems. Get ready to discover how this silent team member can make your business more efficient, profitable, and resilient. The New Workforce: How Workflow Automation Acts as Your Silent Team Member Think about the behind-the-scenes work that keeps your business running—task assignments, follow-ups, document approvals, inventory tracking, data entry. Now imagine all those tasks happening without your intervention. That’s what workflow automation brings to the table. It quietly replaces manual, repetitive processes with intelligent systems that run in the background like a high-performing, invisible employee. Workflow automation, at its core, is the use of technology to execute recurring tasks or processes in a business where manual effort can be replaced. It’s not just about saving time—it’s about creating consistency, reducing human error, and unlocking productivity at scale. For small business owners and growing enterprises alike, this kind of automation acts as a silent workforce, constantly handling critical tasks so you and your team can focus on what truly matters. The Shift from Manual to Automated Operations Historically, business workflows have been linear and hands-on. You assign a task, wait for confirmation, follow up via email, and hope nothing falls through the cracks. But today’s business climate doesn’t tolerate inefficiency. Customers expect instant responses. Team members juggle multiple priorities. Markets evolve rapidly. Workflow automation systems step in to connect the dots—moving information, triggering notifications, and updating records in real time without human input. Think of it as a relay race, where each baton pass happens flawlessly, no matter the hour. For example, an automated sales workflow can handle everything from new lead capture to follow-up emails, CRM updates, and even task assignments for sales reps. The result? Less manual coordination and faster lead conversion—automatically. Always-On Support Without Overhead Unlike employees, workflow automation doesn’t take holidays. It doesn’t sleep, ask for time off, or require benefits. Once set up, it works 24/7—processing tasks across departments like HR, marketing, sales, finance, and customer support. This round-the-clock reliability is what gives businesses a competitive edge, especially in industries where response time and consistency are key. Business owners often find that the value of automation compounds over time. A one-minute task repeated 100 times a month becomes a 100-minute drain. Multiply that across different teams, and suddenly, you’re looking at a full-time workload being absorbed by automation—without ever posting a job ad. Scaling Without Stress As your business grows, so do your workflows. More clients. More invoices. More complexity. Workflow automation doesn’t just keep up—it scales with you. Rather than hiring more staff to manage growing demand, you can expand your automation setup to handle increased volume, new services, or evolving customer needs. Imagine onboarding 50 new clients in a month and knowing each one receives the same warm welcome email, tailored documents, and scheduled check-ins—all without lifting a finger. That’s what workflow automation enables: effortless, scalable, personalized service. Eliminating Human Error from the Equation Let’s face it—manual work is vulnerable to mistakes. A missed deadline, a lost form, a forgotten follow-up. These errors aren’t just frustrating; they can cost your business money and credibility. With workflow automation, accuracy becomes the default. Tasks are triggered by logic, not memory. Deadlines are enforced automatically. Approvals don’t stall in someone’s inbox—they move seamlessly to the next step. In industries like healthcare, legal, and finance, where compliance and accuracy are non-negotiable, this alone makes automation worth the investment. A Culture Shift: More Focus, Less Firefighting With repetitive tasks handled automatically, your team can shift their energy to creative, strategic, and high-impact work. You’re not just creating efficiency—you’re building a culture of innovation and focus. For business owners, this shift is a game changer. You’re no longer stuck in the weeds, approving every invoice or forwarding every lead. Instead, you can focus on growing your business, strengthening your brand, or even reclaiming some personal time.
Workflow Automation for Smarter Task Management and Faster Turnaround
When it comes to running a successful business, efficient task management isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Yet many business owners still rely on manual processes like spreadsheets, emails, or verbal instructions to get things done. The result? Missed deadlines, confusion, and wasted time. That’s where workflow automation steps in, offering a smarter, faster way to manage tasks, accelerate operations, and deliver results. Think of workflow automation as your behind-the-scenes project manager—one that never forgets a deadline, always assigns the right task to the right person, and keeps every moving piece in sync. It ensures that nothing slips through the cracks, enabling your team to work faster, more accurately, and with complete clarity. The Chaos of Manual Task Management Before automation, managing tasks was often like herding cats. A client emails a request, someone jots it down on a sticky note, another person adds it to a spreadsheet, and a third follows up days later. This patchwork approach creates room for error, slows everything down, and leads to constant firefighting. Workflow automation eliminates this chaos by turning every repeatable process into a structured flow. When a task is initiated—like a new customer order or a support ticket—the automation system triggers each next step automatically. This could include assigning team members, sending notifications, updating databases, and even notifying the customer that their request is being handled. Suddenly, your task management isn’t guesswork—it’s a finely tuned system that moves with purpose. Faster Turnaround Times with Trigger-Based Actions Speed matters in business. The faster you can respond to leads, fulfill orders, or resolve customer issues, the better your reputation—and your revenue. Workflow automation gives your business that speed by using trigger-based logic to move tasks instantly from one stage to the next. For example, when a lead submits a form on your website, automation software can instantly: - Send a welcome email - Add them to your CRM - Assign a follow-up task to your sales rep - Schedule a call on the rep’s calendar All of this happens within seconds. No delays. No dropped leads. No manual entry. This kind of speed not only improves internal efficiency but also creates a better customer experience, which is a competitive advantage in any industry. Prioritization Made Easy One of the most underrated features of workflow automation is intelligent task prioritization. Rather than leaving it up to team members to decide what’s most important—or worse, reacting to whatever feels urgent—automation tools can assign priority based on rules you define. Let’s say a high-value client submits a support request. Your automated system can flag that ticket as high-priority, assign it to your top technician, and escalate the issue if it's not resolved within a set time. Meanwhile, routine tasks continue to flow as normal, without clogging your pipeline. This structured prioritization helps teams stay focused, keeps important clients happy, and ensures that nothing gets buried in the backlog. More Accountability, Less Micromanagement Workflow automation also introduces transparency into task management. Since every step is tracked and time-stamped, it’s easy to see who’s responsible for what—and when it’s due. This accountability reduces the need for constant check-ins or status updates. Instead of micromanaging, business owners and managers can simply consult their dashboard to get a real-time view of all active workflows: what’s been completed, what’s in progress, and what needs attention. This visibility fosters a results-driven culture where employees take ownership of their responsibilities, and managers can make informed decisions without interrupting the flow of work. Freeing Up Mental Space for Strategic Work When you remove the mental load of juggling dozens of tasks and reminders, your team becomes more focused and creative. No more wasting energy remembering who needs to do what next. Workflow automation takes care of that, allowing your team to concentrate on strategic initiatives, innovation, and customer relationships. As a business owner, this also gives you your time back. You’re no longer the bottleneck or the person everyone relies on for next steps. Instead, your automated workflows keep the engine running while you steer the ship in the right direction. Integration with the Tools You Already Use One of the great things about modern workflow automation is its ability to integrate with your existing tools—like email platforms, CRMs, accounting software, customer support tools, and more. These integrations mean that your automated tasks can pull data from one tool and use it in another, keeping your entire tech stack in sync. Imagine creating a proposal in your CRM and having that automatically generate an invoice in your accounting software, schedule a follow-up task in your project manager, and update your inventory system. That’s the magic of workflow automation: systems talking to each other so your team doesn’t have to. The Competitive Advantage of Smart Task Management In today’s fast-paced digital world, the businesses that succeed are those that can move quickly without sacrificing quality. Workflow automation gives you that edge—by optimizing how tasks are assigned, tracked, and completed, you not only boost internal efficiency but also impress your clients with faster delivery and consistent service. Smart task management isn’t just about organization—it’s a revenue-driving advantage. The less time you spend on admin and manual follow-ups, the more time you have to close deals, deliver value, and grow your business.
Reducing Human Error and Increasing Accuracy with Workflow Automation
Mistakes in business are costly. A misplaced decimal, a skipped approval, or a forgotten customer follow-up can all result in lost revenue, damaged reputation, or regulatory penalties. And while humans are creative and strategic, we’re not always great at the repetitive, detail-oriented tasks that keep a business running smoothly. That’s where workflow automation becomes a business owner’s best friend—it ensures critical tasks are done right, every time, without fail. Whether you’re in retail, healthcare, finance, logistics, or service industries, reducing human error isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential. Automation removes the variable of inconsistency, replacing manual input with machine precision that boosts both accuracy and efficiency. Why Human Error Happens in the First Place To understand how workflow automation helps, it’s important to recognize why errors occur in manual workflows. In most businesses, employees handle dozens—if not hundreds—of small tasks a day. These may include copying data, sending emails, updating systems, routing approvals, generating invoices, and so on. When people are multitasking, rushed, distracted, or simply fatigued, mistakes happen. It’s not a matter of poor performance; it’s human nature. Even the most detail-oriented professionals make occasional errors. But in business, those small errors can snowball into big problems. That’s where workflow automation shines: it executes repetitive tasks perfectly, every time. Built-In Logic that Prevents Mistakes Before They Happen Workflow automation systems are designed to operate on predefined logic—"if this, then that." For example: - If a purchase order exceeds $10,000, route it to a senior manager for approval. - If a new client is added to the CRM, automatically assign a welcome call task to the sales team. - If an invoice is overdue by 30 days, send an automated reminder to the customer and notify accounts receivable. This built-in logic ensures that critical steps are never missed and that rules are consistently enforced. Humans no longer have to remember which form goes where or which box to check. The system does it for them—instantly and accurately. Data Entry Without the Disasters Manual data entry is one of the most error-prone tasks in any business. Typos, duplicate records, or missed fields can wreak havoc on customer service, reporting, and compliance. Workflow automation reduces or eliminates the need for manual data entry by: - Auto-filling fields from integrated systems - Using drop-downs or logic-based entry instead of open text - Validating information before submission Let’s say a customer fills out a form on your website. Instead of someone copying that information into your CRM, workflow automation can capture it instantly, populate the necessary fields, and trigger follow-up tasks without anyone touching a keyboard. That means no misspelled names, no missed emails, and no lost leads. Improved Compliance and Record-Keeping For industries with strict regulations—like healthcare, legal, or financial services—accuracy isn’t just about efficiency; it’s about compliance. Failing to follow protocol or misfiling a document can result in legal consequences or lost licenses. Workflow automation helps by: - Creating timestamped audit trails for every step in a process - Ensuring documentation is completed, stored, and accessible - Automatically flagging or escalating non-compliant actions In a world where regulations are constantly evolving, having a system that enforces accuracy and documents every step is a major advantage. Streamlining Approval Workflows to Eliminate Bottlenecks Many errors in manual workflows stem from unclear or delayed approvals. Maybe a manager didn’t see the email. Maybe a document was left unsigned. These little issues add up, causing bottlenecks and incorrect assumptions. With workflow automation, approvals are streamlined and tracked. The system knows who needs to sign off and when, sends reminders automatically, and even escalates if someone doesn’t respond. This not only improves speed but ensures no important step is skipped or done out of order. You can even include conditional logic to ensure only the right people approve the right things. For example, small expenses go to department heads, while large purchases require executive review. Everyone sees only what they need to, nothing more—reducing both delay and confusion. Real-Time Error Detection and Correction Modern workflow automation platforms don’t just follow instructions—they’re smart enough to spot inconsistencies. If something seems off—like a mismatched email domain, a missing attachment, or duplicate records—the system can automatically alert users, block submissions, or suggest corrections. This proactive approach prevents problems from reaching customers or affecting your bottom line. Instead of discovering a costly mistake weeks later, your automation system flags it immediately, giving you a chance to fix it before it causes damage. Saving Time, Stress, and Money When you reduce errors, you also reduce the time and cost of fixing them. Correcting a mistake takes more time than doing the task right the first time. For business owners, that means fewer headaches, less rework, and more consistent outcomes. Employees also appreciate not being blamed for mistakes that automation can prevent. This improves morale, increases trust in internal systems, and allows your team to focus on value-added work instead of cleanup. From Reactive to Proactive Operations Perhaps the most valuable impact of workflow automation on accuracy is that it transforms your business from reactive to proactive. Instead of constantly fixing issues as they arise, you’re preventing them before they happen. This shift allows you to build a more resilient, responsive, and scalable operation—one that’s built on precision, not patchwork.
How Workflow Automation Empowers You to Focus on Strategy Over Admin
As a business owner, your time is your most valuable asset. Yet too often, it's spent buried in the weeds—answering emails, processing invoices, checking project updates, or handling routine approvals. These tasks, while necessary, pull your attention away from where it’s most impactful: strategy, growth, innovation, and leadership. Workflow automation changes that narrative. By handling repetitive administrative tasks automatically, it frees up your time and mental bandwidth so you can shift from "doing" to "leading." You become less of a firefighter and more of a visionary, empowered to work on your business rather than constantly being stuck in it. Reclaiming Time with Seamless Administrative Execution Imagine walking into your office and knowing that emails were already sent, documents were properly routed for approval, follow-up calls were scheduled, client data was updated in your CRM, and invoices had gone out on time—all without you lifting a finger. That’s the magic of workflow automation. These automated processes allow your business to run smoothly even when you’re not directly involved. Instead of chasing updates or checking off low-value tasks, you're free to spend time analyzing performance metrics, connecting with customers, developing new services, or identifying growth opportunities. In short, workflow automation turns your back office into a well-oiled machine—running 24/7 so you don’t have to. Unlocking the Strategic Potential of Your Team It’s not just your time that’s wasted on admin—your team’s talent is too. Skilled employees often spend their day mired in low-impact work: manually entering data, moving files from one place to another, or checking project statuses. Read the full article

Navigating the Maze: Your Guide to Choosing the Right Risk Management Software
Tumblr media
Choosing the right risk management software is crucial in today's environment, as solid risk management is fundamental for compliance, avoiding costly issues, and protecting critical information. This guide offers a shortcut to navigate the overwhelming number of options, drawing on key insights from an article by Gavin Altus. The goal is to provide clarity and confidence for an informed decision, considering everything from specific needs to true costs.
The following are the 10 crucial questions to consider
1. What Kind of Risks Does the Software Actually Handle?
One size definitely does not fit all in risk management software.
Software is often geared towards specific areas: finance, operational, compliance, or HR (e.g., employee retention, data privacy).
Match the software's specialty to your main vulnerabilities and what keeps you up at night.
Practical advice: Ask vendors directly what risks their platform is built for and push them on customization to fit your unique business risk profile.
Consider future-proofing: does the system have the flexibility to adapt as your business changes and new risks emerge, preventing obsolescence in a short period?
2. How Well Does it Integrate with Existing Systems?
Seamless integration is almost a necessity.
Direct communication with existing systems (HR tools, payroll, employee database) allows information to flow automatically, saving significant time on manual data entry and drastically reducing human errors.
It also provides a more unified picture of risk across the entire operation, eliminating data stuck in silos.
Advice: Ask vendors for real examples of successful integrations they've done with systems similar to yours, seeking proof, not just promises.
3. Does it Have Robust Compliance Features?
Compliance features are non-negotiable and often a huge driver for obtaining such software, especially concerning OHS regulations or specific industry standards.
A strong compliance toolkit actively reduces the risk of fines, legal issues, and reputation damage.
Must-have features include:
Automated check systems that constantly monitor if requirements are being met.
Detailed audit trails to prove compliance when needed.
Real-time updates as laws and regulations change, keeping you automatically informed to avoid surprises.
4. How Easy is the Software to Use (Usability) ?
If the software is clunky or confusing, people will find ways not to use it, defeating its purpose.
Look for intuitive design:
Clean designs and customizable dashboards so users see what's relevant to their job.
Drag-and-drop functionality.
Mobile access is increasingly standard and essential for many roles, especially for on-site incident reporting.
Practical tip: Get a demo, but don't just watch it; get your team (the actual day-to-day users) to try it out and click around. This is the only true test.
5. What About Customer Support and Training?
Buying the software is just step one; you're investing in the support system around it.
Hitting snags during rollout is common, so you don't want to be left stranded.
Key questions to ask:
What support levels are included (e.g., 9-5 or 24/7)?
Do you get a dedicated contact person who understands your setup?
What is their onboarding process like? A good vendor should have a clear, structured process for guiding you through setup and training.
Ideally, it should feel like a partnership, not just a one-off transaction.
6. Is the Software Scalable?
As your business grows, adds users, handles more data, or operations become more complex, the software needs to keep up without "falling over".
Having to switch systems again in a few years is disruptive and expensive.
Look for signs of scalability: configurable workflows and risk templates that can be easily adapted.
Ask about their future plans and product roadmap to ensure the software will evolve with you. A scalable solution is an investment for the long haul.
7. How Robust is its Data Security?
Protecting sensitive information is paramount, as you're often dealing with highly confidential customer or employee data.
A data breach can be devastating financially and reputationally.
Essential security features:
Strong encryption for data both in transit and at rest.
Robust access controls with fine-grained permissions, ensuring only authorized people can access specific information based on their role.
Strongly advise involving your own IT security folks in the evaluation, as they understand your specific security posture and can assess if a vendor's security truly stacks up for your needs.
8. What are its Incident Management Capabilities?
A fast, effective response when an incident occurs can make all the difference in minimizing its impact.
Features to look for:
Easy reporting: Anyone should be able to log an incident without complications.
Tools to track the resolution process and figure out the root cause to prevent recurrence.
Automated escalation protocols that immediately alert the right managers or teams when something serious happens.
Advice: Ask for a demo specifically on incident management to walk through their process and see if it matches your operational needs.
9. What Analytics and Reporting Capabilities Does it Offer?
Risk management software is about data-driven decisions. The software needs to provide tools to understand your risk landscape, spot trends, and measure control effectiveness.
Key reporting features:
Customizable reports that can be tailored for different audiences (e.g., board, managers, regulators).
Dashboards that provide a visual, at-a-glance overview of key risk indicators.
Analytical tools to dig deeper, identify patterns, quantify risk levels, and even model different scenarios.
Some advanced systems may offer AI-powered predictive analytics.
The core point is that reporting needs to turn raw data into actionable insights that you can use to make better, more proactive decisions.
10. What is the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)?
The initial price tag is just the beginning; you must look at the whole life cycle cost.
Factors to consider beyond the initial purchase price:
Implementation costs (getting it set up and integrated).
Training for your staff.
Ongoing maintenance or subscription fees.
Potential hidden costs that vendors might charge extra for, such as migrating old data, specific customizations, or major software upgrades down the line.
Advice: Push vendors for a full, detailed cost breakdown to understand every line item. Then, weigh that total cost against your budget and the expected value or ROI.
Key Takeaways and Benefits:
Knowing your specific risks and ensuring the software fits.
Prioritizing integration and usability.
Ensuring strong support and training from the vendor.
Thinking long-term about scalability for future growth and adaptability.
