In April, Ezibon Khamis was dispatched to Akobo, South Sudan, to document the horrors as humanitarian services collapsed in the middle of a cholera outbreak. As a representative of the NGO Save the Children, Khamis would be able to show the consequences of massive cuts to U.S. foreign assistance made by the Department of Government Efficiency and the State Department. Seven of the health facilities that Save the Children had supported in the region have fully closed, and 20 more have partly ceased operations.
Khamis told us about passing men and women who carried the sick on their shoulders like pallbearers. Children and adults were laid on makeshift gurneys; many vomited uncontrollably. These human caravans walked for hours in up to 104-degree heat in an attempt to reach medical treatment, because their local clinics had either closed completely or run out of ways to treat cholera. Previously, the U.S. government had provided tablets that purified the water in the region, which is home to a quarter-million people, many of whom are fleeing violent conflicts nearby. Not anymore, Khamis says; now many have resorted to drinking untreated river water. He told us that at least eight people—five of them children—had died on their journey that day. As he entered a health facility in Akobo, he was confronted by a woman. “She just said, ‘You abandoned us,’” Khamis told us.
We heard other such stories in our effort to better understand what happened when DOGE dismantled the United States Agency for International Development. In Nigeria, a mother watched one of her infant twins die after the program that had been treating them for severe acute malnutrition shut down. In South Sudan, unaccompanied children were unable to reunite with surviving relatives at three refugee camps, due to other cuts. Allara Ali, a coordinator for Doctors Without Borders who oversees the group’s work at Bay Regional Hospital, in Somalia, told us that children are arriving there so acutely malnourished and “deteriorated” that they cannot speak—a result of emergency-feeding centers no longer receiving funds from USAID to provide fortified milks and pastes. Last month, 14 children died from severe acute malnutrition at Bay Regional, Doctors Without Borders wrote to us. Many mothers who travel more than 100 miles so that a doctor might see their child return home without them.
One man has consistently cheered and helped execute the funding cuts that have exacerbated suffering and death. In February, Elon Musk, acting in his capacity as a leader of DOGE, declared that USAID was “a criminal organization,” argued that it was “time for it to die,” and bragged that he’d “spent the weekend feeding USAID into the wood chipper.”
Musk did not respond to multiple requests for comment for this article. Last month, in an interview with Bloomberg, he argued that his critics have been unable to produce any evidence that these cuts at USAID have resulted in any real suffering. “It’s false,” he said. “I say, ‘Well, please connect us with this group of children so we can talk to them and understand more about their issue,’ we get nothing. They don’t even try to come up with a show orphan.”
Musk is wrong, as our reporting shows—and as multiple other reports (and estimates) have also shown. But the issue here is not just that Musk is wrong. It is that his indifference to the suffering of people in Africa exists alongside his belief that he has a central role to play in the future of the human species. Musk has insisted that people must have as many children as possible—and is committed to siring a “legion” himself—and that we must become multiplanetary. Perhaps more than anyone else on Earth, Musk, the wealthiest man alive, has the drive, the resources, and the connections to make his moon shots a reality. His greatest and most consistent ambition is to define a new era for humankind. Who does he believe is worthy of that future?
For more than 20 years, Musk has been fixated on colonizing Mars. This is the reason he founded his rocket company, SpaceX; Musk recently proclaimed that its Starship program—an effort to create reusable rockets that he believes will eventually carry perhaps millions of humans to the Red Planet—is “the key branching point for human destiny or destiny of consciousness as a whole.” This civilizational language is common—he’s also described his Mars ambitions as “life insurance for life collectively.”
He claims to be philosophically aligned with longtermism, a futurist philosophy whose proponents—self-styled rationalists—game out how to do the most good for the human race over the longest time horizon. Classic pillars of longtermism are guarding against future pandemics and addressing concerns about properly calibrating artificial intelligence, all with a focus on protecting future generations from theoretical threats. Musk’s Mars obsession purports to follow this logic: An investment in a program that allows humans to live on other planets would, in theory, ensure that the human race survives even if the Earth becomes uninhabitable. Musk has endorsed the work of at least one longtermist who believes that this achievement would equate to trillions of lives saved in the form of humans who would otherwise not be born.
Saving the lives of theoretical future children appears to be of particular interest to Musk. On X and in interviews, he continuously fixates on declining birth rates. “The birth rate is very low in almost every country. And so unless that changes, civilization will disappear,” Musk told Fox News’s Bret Baier earlier this year. “Humanity is dying.” He himself has fathered many children—14 that we know of—with multiple women. Musk’s foundation has also donated money to fund population research at the University of Texas at Austin. An economics professor affiliated with that research, Dean Spears, has argued in The New York Times that “sustained below-replacement fertility will mean tens of billions of lives not lived over the next few centuries—many lives that could have been wonderful for the people who would have lived them.”
But Musk’s behavior and rhetoric do not track with the egalitarian principles these interests would suggest. The pronatalist community that he is aligned with is a loose coalition. It includes techno-utopians and Peter Thiel acolytes, but also more civic-minded thinkers who argue for better social safety nets to encourage more people to have families. The movement is also linked to regressive, far-right activists and even self-proclaimed eugenicists. In 2023, The Guardian reported that Kevin Dolan, the organizer of a popular pronatalist conference, had said on a far-right podcast that “the pronatalist and the eugenic positions are very much not in opposition, they’re very much aligned.” Via his X account, Musk has amplified to his millions of followers the talk given by Dolan at that 2023 conference.
Although other prominent pronatalists disavow the eugenics connection, the movement’s politics can veer into alarming territory. In November 2024, The Guardian reported that Malcolm and Simone Collins, two of the pronatalist movement’s most vocal figures, wrote a proposal to create a futuristic city-state designed to save civilization that included the “mass production of genetically selected humans” to create a society that would “grant more voting power to creators of economically productive agents.” Last month, the Times reported that Musk has “privately” spent time with the Collinses.
Musk has also dabbled with scientific racism on X. The centibillionaire has engaged with and reposted statements by Jordan Lasker, a proponent of eugenics who goes by the name Crémieux online, according to reporting from The Guardian. On his Substack, Lasker has written about supposed links between national identity and IQ—defending at length an analysis that suggests that people in sub-Saharan Africa have “very low IQs” on average. Musk may not have explicitly commented on Lasker’s work, which implies a relationship between race and intelligence, but in 2024, he responded favorably to an X post that argued that “HBCU IQ averages are within 10 points of the threshold for what is considered ‘borderline intellectual impairment.’” The original post was ostensibly criticizing a United Airlines program that gave students at three historically Black colleges and universities an opportunity to interview for a pilot-training program. In his response to that post, Musk wrote, “It will take an airplane crashing and killing hundreds of people for them to change this crazy policy of DIE.” (“DIE” is Musk’s play on DEI.)
Musk frequently engages in this type of cagey shitposting—comments that seem to endorse scientific racists or eugenicist thinking without outright doing so. Those seeking to understand the worldview of one of the most powerful men on Earth are left to find the context for themselves. That context should include Musk’s own family history, starting with his upbringing during the apartheid regime in South Africa and the beliefs of his grandfather Joshua Haldeman, who, as Joshua Benton reported for The Atlantic in 2023, was a radical technocrat and anti-Semite who wrote of the “very primitive” natives of South Africa after he moved there from Canada.
As Benton correctly notes, the sins of the grandfather are not the sins of the grandson; Musk’s father, for example, was a member of an anti-apartheid party in South Africa, and Ashlee Vance reported in his biography of Musk that the apartheid system was a primary reason Musk left South Africa. But, as Benton also writes, “when Musk tweets that George Soros ‘appears to want nothing less than the destruction of western civilization’—in response to a tweet blaming Soros for an ‘invasion’ of African migrants into Europe—he is not the first in his family to insinuate that a wealthy Jewish financier was manipulating thousands of Africans to advance nefarious goals.”
Musk is also preoccupied with the far-right theory of white genocide, posting at various points in the past couple of years on X about how he feels there is a plot to kill white South Africans. Though South Africa has among the highest murder rates in the world, there is no evidence of a systematic white genocide there. Yet during Musk’s political tenure, the Trump administration welcomed 59 white Afrikaner refugees while effectively closing off admission from other countries, including Sudan and the Republic of the Congo.
Here’s a thought experiment: Based on the programs that Musk has cut, based on the people he meets with and reads, based on the windows we have into his thinking, who do you imagine might be welcomed on the Starship? On X, Musk has implied that the following are all threats to “Western Civilization”: DEI programs, George Soros, the supposedly left-wing judiciary, and much of what gets put under the umbrella of “wokeness.” Transgender-youth rights, according to Musk, are a “suicidal mind virus” attacking Western civilization.
Even the idea of empathy, Musk argues, is a kind of existential threat. “The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy, the empathy exploit,” Musk said in February on Joe Rogan’s podcast. “They’re exploiting a bug in Western civilization, which is the empathy response,” he said of liberal politicians and activists. Musk, of course, was defending his tenure in the federal government, including his dismantling of USAID. Canceling programs overseas is consistent with his philosophy that “America is the central column that holds up all the places in civilization,” as he told Baier during his Fox appearance. Follow that logic: Cutting global aid frees up resources that can be used to help Americans, who, in turn, can work toward advancing Western civilization, in part by pursuing a MAGA political agenda and funding pronatalist programs that allow for privileged people (ideally white and “high IQ”) to have more children. The thinking seems to go like this: Who cares if people in South Sudan and Somalia die? Western civilization will thrive and propagate itself across the cosmos.
hose who believe in this kind of thinking might say that line items on USAID’s ledger are only of minor consequence in the grand scheme of things. But the world is not governed by the logic of a science-fiction plot. “The fact is, it’s all interconnected,” Catherine Connor, the vice president of public policy at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, told us when we asked about the grants Musk’s team had terminated at USAID. “If you take one thing away, you’ve broken a link in a chain.” She described a situation that her organization is seeing play out on the ground right now, where new HIV-positive mothers take their infants for a dry-blood-spot test to determine if the child has HIV as well. The spot test must be transported to a lab to get results, which will determine if a child is HIV positive and if they should receive lifesaving medication. “In many of our sites, in many of the countries we’re working in, that lab transport has been terminated,” Connor said. “So we can do all these things, but because we lost the lab part, we don’t know if this child’s HIV-positive or not.” A link in the chain is broken; people are left on their own. The future becomes less certain, a bit darker.
“There’s a sense of despondence, a sense of hopelessness that I haven’t sensed in my time working in this field,” Connor said. “The level of uncertainty and the level of anxiety that’s been created is almost as damaging as the cuts themselves.” It seems this hopelessness is a feature of a worldview committed to eradicating what Musk calls “suicidal empathy.” Regardless, Musk, it appears, is much more interested in talking about his self-landing rockets and a future he promises is just on the horizon.
But much as Musk might want us to divert our eyes upward, something terrible is happening on Earth. The world’s richest man is preventing lifesaving aid from reaching the world’s poorest children, closing off their future as he fantasizes about another.

Earth 101 : A Manual for the Visiting Cybertronian
Chapter One : Planet Earth
Planet Earth is located within the aptly named ‘Milky Way’ galaxy, as the humans liken the hazy starlight to ‘spilled milk’ [ See: Earth Fuel/Foods ,Earth Phrases for more information ]. A young star system in comparison to Cybertron, the planet of Earth is located in what the humans rather creatively called the Solar system, as their measurements of time are based on the rotations their planet takes around the center of their system, a star they call the Sun.
They appear to regard it as one of the main factors for life capabilities on Earth.
Earth is the 3rd planet from this Sun, and is in what humans call the 'Goldilocks Zone' [See: Earth Fables and Folklore for 'Goldilocks' definition.] , resulting in its capabilities for sustaining life.
Earth has only one moon orbiting itself, and is not a large planet, but still one of impressive accomplishments, being the only planetary body in its system which hosts any form of life at all.
Earth is a planet rich in water, as an impressive 71% of the planet is covered in dihydrogen monoxide, also known as H20, or commonly referred to by the native humans as water.
Astoundingly however, the majority of this water is not able to be used by the population as sustanence due to the large part of their seas being salt water, which in large quantities is harmful to the populace.
The Earth is divided into several continents, which they populate, save for a handful which are so cold that no human in their right mind would inhabit.
Editor’s Note: It appears this information was flawed, as human scientists have in fact resided in the Arctic and Antarctic on months long expeditions in sometimes sub zero temperatures that would be harmful if not for their fortified shelters in these cold enviroments.  Why they would do this remains wholly confusing to our own kind, as such temperatures are deadly if exposed for too long.
Within these continents, various countries exist, which are populated by various organic beings, but the majority being human cities or colonies which vary in levels of technology and density of population.
Most impressive about Earth is the biodiversity, as its entire planet houses various forms of weather and ecosystems.
Earth can go through various types of ecosystems, ranging from calm forests, scorching deserts, freezing tundras, lush rainforests and jungles, and even entire cavern systems below ground, and amazingly, there is a report of an entire cavern in a secluded area of the planet, which created its own weather system of a sort. A fascinating show of how wondrous this planet can be.
Our Maximal and Eukarian natives have often stated that the various biomes of Earth remind them of their own home worlds and other planets that they had visited eons ago, which has offered a comforting reminder for some.
Terran flora can come in a great and numerous variations.
Flowers who grow and blossom for a mere few hours, and trees whose height far surpasses that of any regular Cybertronian, and could rival that of Combiners or a smaller classed Titan. Terran flora can also be quite vicious, as there are many a poisonous plant that exist and can harm humans if used incorrectly in medicinal and even casual usage such as cooking.
When asked how humans determined which plants were safe to eat and which were not, the method of 'trial and error' was the most recognized, despite the fact this meant the possibility of grievous harm to their health.
It is truly a miracle how humans survive such a deadly and dangerous planet so easily and calmly, though human media suggests they are quite heroic in survival matters.
Editor’s Note: I have been informed that the 'heroic propaganda' cited above is what is known as action movies, a common pastime and entertainment form on Earth. Apologies for this error.
Equally impressive however is the existence of flora who in fact hunt, consuming insects rather than photosynthesizing for survival. The plants are small but it would appear that some can capture quite large [for human standards] bugs or even small animals if they are the correct size.
That said, though we are of great stature in comparison to Terran fauna, please do not feel inclined to challenge the native wildlife.
Many a Cybertronian medic has had to repair dented frames from foolish mechs and femmes alike who did the following :
Gave chase to predator species in an attempt to scare them off. Result : Scratch marks and punctures of claws
Fought undersea wildlife, primarily sharks who in self preservation tactics, would bite and leave teeth imprints and even teeth themselves on a mech's plating.
Said undersea incident also resulted in the tangling of seaweed and kelp within said bot's joints.
Bots who attempted to befriend wildlife instead would also be met with hostile reactions at times. This is a reminder that a real wild bear is not the equivalent of the toy known as the 'Teddy Bear'. Real bears will attack you.
There are animals who have tusks and horns as defensive features to their bodies. These will dent and at worst, puncture your plating or even through your frame.
Do not attempt to pet the bison/buffalo. They look friendly. They are not.
No, predatory species known as the 'big cats' are not in fact like regular domesticated household pet cats. They are not friendly.
Wolves are also not the same as household dogs. Approach with caution. Or don't. Please.
Birds of many varieties like to collect 'shinies'. We apologize to those who are stationed in the continent of Australia, as the species known as magpies are particularly vicious.
Reinforced plating is advised for those visiting the particularly wild nation of Australia. All Australian wildlife in general appears to be particularly deadly in some capacity.
Though small in size, bugs will splatter on windshields in your vehicular form. No, it cannot be prevented. We advise regular trips to the human creation known as a 'car wash'.
Rather interestingly as well, Earth’s native flora and fauna sometimes resembles Cybertron’s very own, just in organic manner. This could be due to the fact that centuries ago, Earth was one of the many worlds which Energon hoards were stashed till the planet itself began to grow its very own after the prolonged exposure.
Editor’s Note: Things have been revealed that this editor will simply say…they explain a lot more now.
A LOT more.
To be explained perhaps in another section of this field guide/manual to your cohabitation on Earth.
However, Earth does very clearly differ still from our own home, as it is as stated before, organic in nature, and its iron, steel and other metals are found deep within the Earth, not like on our world where they’re so clearly topside in comparison. Earth manufactures its metals, wiring, and other technological components, which are otherwise not found naturally.
Earth also, despite having Energon, doesn't use it as a fuel source, instead it will use oil, most commonly petrol, electrical currents and in some bizarre cases, even use nuclear power to power various forms of human settlements.
Editor's Note: As it seems, humanity is actually unaware of what Energon is despite the planet being quite rich in its deposits.
They appear to not have the technology to even detect it, deeming it as, in the words of one of our allies 'Just another pretty thing to look at'. Absurd by our standards, but we do not judge for their inability to comprehend the importance of it.
Despite this, Earth has been trying for roughly a vorn, to transition to alternative power sources, such as solar power, kinetic energy like that of the air with their windmill turbines, and even using organic matter of various kinds to attempt to form alternative fuels.
These endeavors are well documented and admirable, as their main source of fuels, aptly named fossil fuels, are in fact, the liquidized form of the planet’s previous inhabitants known as 'Dinosaurs' ,which went extinct many many centi-vorns ago.
[See: Cybertronian-Earth interconnections : Dinobots for more details. ]
This concludes the introduction to the basics of the planet Earth’s status.
Any and all queries related to further information of the Earth’s composition, atmosphere, and otherwise related geographical information, please direct them to the author appropriately so that your query, dear reader, is properly answered with dutiful knowledge and understanding, to help your fellow Cybertronian!

The Harms of Vitamin D Deficiency and the Importance of Supplementation
Tumblr media
Introduction
Vitamin D is a crucial nutrient that plays a fundamental role in our overall health. Among its various forms, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the most effective in maintaining adequate levels in the body. Despite its importance, a large percentage of the global population suffers from vitamin D deficiency, which can lead to severe health complications. This article delves into the dangers of vitamin D deficiency, the importance of maintaining optimal levels, and how to achieve this through diet, supplementation, and lifestyle modifications.
The Critical Role of Vitamin D in the Body
Vitamin D is essential for many bodily functions, including:
Bone Health – It promotes calcium absorption, preventing osteoporosis and fractures.
Immune System Support – It enhances the immune response, reducing the risk of infections.
Muscle Function – Helps in muscle contraction and reduces the risk of falls in the elderly.
Heart Health – Plays a role in regulating blood pressure and reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Mental Health – Linked to mood regulation and prevention of depression.
The Dangers of Vitamin D Deficiency
A deficiency in vitamin D can result in serious health problems, including:
1. Weak Bones and Increased Fracture Risk
Vitamin D deficiency leads to poor calcium absorption, weakening bones and increasing the risk of fractures. In children, this can cause rickets, while in adults, it results in osteomalacia and osteoporosis.
2. Weakened Immune System
People with low vitamin D levels are more prone to infections, including colds, flu, and even more severe conditions like pneumonia and tuberculosis. Studies also indicate that adequate vitamin D levels can help in autoimmune disease prevention.
3. Increased Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases
Low vitamin D is linked to high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. It plays a role in regulating blood pressure by affecting calcium levels in the arteries and heart.
4. Depression and Mood Disorders
Vitamin D is essential for brain function. A deficiency can lead to symptoms of depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline, particularly in older adults.
5. Muscle Weakness and Chronic Fatigue
People with low vitamin D levels often experience fatigue, muscle weakness, and joint pain, reducing overall quality of life.
6. Increased Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Vitamin D affects insulin secretion and glucose metabolism. Studies suggest that deficiency can contribute to insulin resistance, increasing the risk of diabetes.
7. Potential Link to Cancer
Emerging research indicates that low vitamin D levels may be associated with an increased risk of certain cancers, including breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer.
How to Increase Vitamin D Levels
To combat vitamin D deficiency, we must focus on diet, sunlight exposure, and supplementation.
1. Sunlight Exposure
The human body naturally produces vitamin D when exposed to sunlight. Spending 15-30 minutes in the sun daily, especially between 10 AM and 3 PM, can significantly boost vitamin D levels. However, factors such as skin tone, sunscreen use, and geographical location can impact production.
2. Vitamin D-Rich Foods
Certain foods are excellent sources of vitamin D, including:
Fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines, tuna)
Egg yolks
Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt)
Fortified foods (cereals, orange juice, plant-based milk)
Mushrooms (especially those exposed to sunlight)
3. Vitamin D Supplements
Due to modern lifestyles and limited sun exposure, many people need vitamin D supplements to meet daily requirements. Vitamin D3 supplements are the most effective. Experts recommend 600-800 IU per day, but people with a deficiency may need higher doses under medical supervision.
Who Is at Risk for Vitamin D Deficiency?
Some groups are at a higher risk of developing vitamin D deficiency, including:
People with limited sun exposure (those living in colder climates or working indoors)
Elderly individuals (as aging reduces the skin’s ability to produce vitamin D)
People with darker skin (melanin reduces vitamin D synthesis)
Obese individuals (vitamin D is stored in fat cells, making it less available)
Those with malabsorption issues (such as Crohn’s disease, celiac disease, and IBS)
Pregnant and breastfeeding women (higher nutritional demands)
The Importance of Vitamin D3 Supplementation
Among vitamin D supplements, vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is superior to vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) in raising and maintaining optimal levels. Regular supplementation can prevent deficiency-related complications and improve overall well-being. If you are considering a supplement, choose a high-quality product like this one.
Conclusion
Vitamin D is essential for health, affecting everything from bones and immunity to mental well-being. Deficiency can lead to severe health issues, but it is easily preventable through sun exposure, a nutrient-rich diet, and supplementation. If you suspect a deficiency, consult a healthcare provider for testing and guidance on proper supplementation.

Food Rant??
Imma be mad if y'all are being tricked by food companies so here....
Topics covered: instant coffee, "raw milk", double hydration / gatorade, and nitrate free meats
If you are stuck depending on instant coffee, you can get a Vietnamese Metal Coffee Filter to make coffee with hot water and coffee grounds. It's a great alternative if you only have hot water or don't have a coffee machine or stovetop. They range at about 7ish American dollars for a cheap one. Robusta beans are a form of coffee bean that is "cheaper" than other coffee beans and are often used in instant coffee, an already cheap product. The global prices for coffee beans can be pretty low compared to the labor of them, so being able to buy from a trusted company is really important. If you wanted to try a different coffee from a different brand, hopefully now you can. That or doing something like switching to tea or a less labor-intensive product can help farmers a lot. :D

This one is more influencers.... :/
A fortified food is a food where an important nutrient has been added, usually to prevent disease or malnourishment. For instance, many milks are fortified with Vitamin D. Vitamin D does not occur naturally in milk, BUT it is super important for the absorption of calcium. One of the main ways most people get calcium is through milk products, and Vitamin D deficiency is REALLY REALLLLLLY common. Decades ago, so was calcium deficiency which hurt a lot of people's health. To prevent that calcium in milk from not being absorbed, Vitamin D is added (usually by government regulation in a lot of places but it's also super common otherwise).
Plus, a lack of Vitamin D has other health problems associated with it like depression and cancer.
I hate when people say "raw milk" is healthier for you because it's "unprocessed". I'm so sad about it. A "process" is literally anything that people do to the ingredients of a food before selling it. "Unprocessed" means an unfinished product. Unprocessed foods aren't always dangerous or anything, but milk is kind of the exception. Yes, the chance of "raw milk" itself hurting you is pretty low, but you're avoiding all the things that make milk so healthy. People put so much effort into making you that processed milk. :'(
Unfortunately, "Nutritionist" isn't a designated term for a healthcare professional. Someone is often just trying to sell you a brand or lifestyle.
Read More (2): (both from NIH) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK532266/ (VD Deficiency), https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6116165/ (About Fortified Milk)
Gatorade, Double Hydration, and other hydration drinks rely on Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT). ORT is a rehydration technique involving salt, sugar, and water which all need to be absorbed together. The solution can often be made at home.
Recipe: 6 teaspoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and one liter of water (it can vary from place to place because different areas have different intakes of salt and sugar in their diets but it's mostly the same)
It won't have the same flavor though. It's just important to know the basic science behind those drinks and that they're easy to make at home, so you can if you need.

...they have the same health risks and they're LITERALLY not nitrate free because *cELerY sAlt

Vegan Masterpost
Want to make a change for the animals, for the planet and for your fellow humans? Here's how to start: 1. Replace your favorites with plant based ones. Look up vegan recipes + your fav meals. Stop buying animal products and start buying alternatives! That's basically it! You're probably going to start getting exposed to a bunch of new plants and flavors to cook with. Embrace the fun! I'm not going to lie, you will probably crave animal flavors and textures at first. There's nothing wrong with having these cravings, just accept they are normal and will go away. 2. Look up vegan nutrition needs. You will probably need to supplement with B12 (found in fortified foods, such as fortified cereals or nutritional yeast). This is fine. Supplements are a good things! We put iodine in salt, and most carnist cereals and cow's milk are fortified for a reason. Take advantage of modern efficiency and accept that fortified foods and occasional supplementation is normal and healthy. My doctor recommends everyone where i live to take vitamin D daily, due to the lack of sunlight. Getting nutritional needs met in the most efficient and cruelty free way is good, actually. If you have specific needs around allergies or are dealing with an eating disorder, talk to a vegan nutritionist if you can afford it, otherwise consult with the vegan community and do your best.
3. Start using a cronomoter if that feels okay for you mentally. A lot of vegans don't eat enough at first! We need to load up on those delicious carbs and protein rich foods and keep consuming fats. 4. Integrate yourself into the community! Join vegan facebook groups, vegan hobby groups, vegan book clubs, follow the vegan tag. Follow animal sanctuaries on every social media. Seeing animals as animals and not objects is a big step in being vegan and seeing how happy these animals are in fulfilling caring environments is a positive reminder of the difference you're making. The hardest part of being vegan is the reaction from non-vegans. If you feel supported through the vegan community, you're much less likely to feel strong in the face of non-vegan pressure to conform or "cheat". A lot of us are genuinely pretty welcoming, probably because vegans are more likely to be liberal, poor, nonwhite, and lgbt+ than average. 5. Educate yourself! Read through vegan books, watch educational videos about what animals go through, and/or look at the vegan boot-camp. You are not required or expected to put yourself through watching animal violence, but if you have trouble connecting to the animals and think you can deal with it, it can help you realize how horrible and violent their lives and deaths are. I personally have not seen Dominion nor do i plan to, i have no need. The only people who need to be watching that stuff is non-vegans who are dismissive of the suffering animals go through. 6. Prepare yourself for a lot of unprompted excuses and defensiveness around non-vegans! Here's some lists of common "gotchas". You'll have them memorized within the first 3 months because of how often you'll hear them. There's also vegan debaters on youtube if that's your jam. Remember, you can always disengage and say "honoring my personal values is important to me and you should respect that" if you don't know what to say or don't want to argue. Numbers 13:2‭-‬3‭, ‬17‭-‬21‭, ‬25‭-‬33 (ESV). “Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the people of Israel. From each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a chief among them. So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran, according to the command of the Lord, all of them men who were heads of the people of Israel. Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan and said to them, “Go up into the Negeb and go up into the hill country, and see what the land is, and whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many, and whether the land that they dwell in is good or bad, and whether the cities that they dwell in are camps or strongholds, and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are trees in it or not. Be of good courage and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the season of the first ripe grapes. So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near Lebo-hamath.
At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the people of Israel in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh. They brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. And they told him, “We came to the land to which you sent us. It flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. However, the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. And besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the Negeb. The Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the hill country. And the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and along the Jordan.”
But Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”
“Fear Is Your Cue” By In Touch Ministries:
“What scares you? God invites you to bring it to Him and receive His peace and courage.”
“You’ve probably heard that the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, but do you know why? Because in their fear, they doubted God’s call. He had intended for the Israelites to finally inhabit the Promised Land, but when Moses sent spies to scope it out, they reported, “The people who live in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large” (Num. 13:28). The Israelites became afraid and mistrusted what the Lord had said. As a result, they didn’t reach the land of milk and honey.
One of the reasons we, like the Israelites, often question what we’ve heard from God is the fear of failure. Feeling afraid is a normal, human response, but it’s also an internal cue that it’s time to do two things:
Investigate what is going on inside: What is scaring you? How do you think God views this situation? How do you believe He’ll respond to your feelings?
Connect with the Father. You are always safe to share your fears with God—He wants to know about them.
It’s the Lord’s desire that we move through life with confidence and assurance in Him (2 Timothy 1:7). Whenever fear tempts you to change course, take a moment to pause, look inward, and talk to God.”

Powdered drink mixes that are widely promoted as “toddler milks” for older babies and children up to age 3 are unregulated, unnecessary and “nutritionally incomplete,” the American Academy of Pediatrics warned Friday. The drinks, which are touted to parents on TikTok, in television ads and on other sites, often contain added sugar and salt. The manufacturers make unproven claims that the drinks boost kids’ brains or immune systems, said Dr. George Fuchs, a member of the AAP’s nutrition committee, which released the new report. Formula industry officials said the drinks could be useful for filling “nutrition gaps” in kids’ diets. But Fuchs said older babies and toddlers should be given a balanced diet of solid foods, as well as drink breast milk, fortified whole cow’s milk and water after age 1. [...] Infant formula is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and must meet certain nutrition requirements as a replacement for human milk for babies up to 12 months. The facilities where infant formula are made are regularly inspected. There are no federal regulations governing milk drink mixes for older babies and toddlers.

i worked in a pet store that sold raw milk from a local farm. in my state it's illegal to sell raw milk for human consumption, period. but it's not illegal to eat dog food. people would come in and buy the milk and they wouldn't even have pets. we had to be really careful when people asked about it, since it was illegal. sometimes we'd essentially have to cover our ears and go "lalalala can't hear you!" if a customer started talking about it
we threw out gallons upon gallons of it every week because it goes bad so fast and we never sold enough of it. we'd be dumping out giant gallon jars of spoiled raw milk down our dogwash tub every week. the owners only fed their unvaxxed kids raw milk and wondered why they were sick all the time.
their belief is that pasteurization, like other forms of cooking, destroy nutrients. which is true! it's part of the reason why most milk is "fortified," to put some of it back in (and to make up for american diets having a lack of naturally occurring vitamins in the first place) but generally, it doesn't do as much harm as they claim. cooking anything 'burns off' nutrients but not enough to risk getting sick, which is what you're trying to counteract with the nutrients anyway
honestly, if it's about the taste, people should just add some cream back into their milk. and buy from local small farms. they're still pasteurizing but it will taste better.
also, of note: feeding raw milk to pets is preferred. they cannot drink pasteurized milk, but raw fermented goats milk can be a great additive

The Science Behind Milk-Based vs. Plant-Based Proteins
 By Rizwan Farooq Channa
Protein is one of the most discussed nutrients in modern nutrition—and for good reason. Whether it’s for growing children, recovering patients, or active adults, protein supports nearly every function in the body: muscle repair, enzyme production, immune defense, even hormone balance.
But one question keeps coming up, especially from healthcare professionals and consumers alike: Should I choose milk-based or plant-based protein?
At Nutritech Nutrition in Pakistan, this is a conversation we’ve had hundreds of times—with patients, doctors, dietitians, and even athletes. The truth is, both sources have value. But the decision depends on who the protein is for—and why they need it.
So let’s break it down, without hype or jargon. Just science, made human.
Milk-Based Proteins: Fast, Familiar, and Functional
Milk-based proteins like whey and casein are extracted from dairy during the cheese-making process. These are complete proteins—meaning they contain all nine essential amino acids the body cannot make on its own.
Whey, in particular, is known for its:
Fast absorption—ideal for post-surgical patients, children with growth needs, or athletes after training
Rich leucine content—a key amino acid for stimulating muscle protein synthesis
High bioavailability—meaning the body can use it efficiently
Immune-supporting compounds, such as lactoferrin and immunoglobulins
In clinical settings, whey has been shown to help prevent muscle wasting, speed up recovery, and even support healing after burns or trauma.
Casein, on the other hand, digests more slowly—making it useful for sustained protein delivery, such as before bedtime or during long recovery periods.
We use both in several Nutritech formulas—especially in Enerbest Protein, which is commonly used in hospitals and by individuals recovering from illness.
Plant-Based Proteins: Sustainable and Sensitive-Friendly
Plant-based proteins are derived from sources like soy, peas, rice, or even hemp. While they’ve long been used in vegetarian diets, they’ve grown in mainstream popularity as more people seek dairy-free, allergen-sensitive, or environmentally sustainable options.
Some of their strengths include:
Hypoallergenic potential—ideal for people with lactose intolerance or cow’s milk protein allergy
Lower saturated fat content—which can be relevant for cardiac patients
Greater sustainability—plants generally have a smaller environmental footprint
Better satiety for some users, due to fiber content when used in whole form
However, not all plant proteins are created equal. Many are incomplete, lacking one or more essential amino acids—unless blended correctly.
At Nutritech, we often blend soy isolate with other plant sources or fortify them with missing amino acids to create a complete profile. This is especially important in products designed for maternal nutrition, diabetes care, or general wellness.
Clinical Application Examples
A malnourished ICU patient may need a whey isolate formula, rapidly absorbed and protein-rich, to prevent muscle loss.
A vegetarian expectant mother may benefit from soy protein fortified with iron and folate, key for fetal development.
A child with cow’s milk allergy may require a plant-based blend, but one that’s complete and balanced.
An elderly COPD patient, struggling to eat, might need a casein-rich shake before sleep to maintain overnight nutrition.
Context is everything.
Our approach at Nutritech Nutrition
We don’t pick sides—we pick solutions. In Pakistan, we serve a diverse population: urban and rural, young and old, with varying beliefs, allergies, and needs. That’s why our portfolio includes both milk-based and plant-based proteins, developed through careful research.
And this isn’t just local work—it’s part of a global dialogue. As a nominee for the upcoming 2025 Go Global Awards in London, hosted by the International Trade Council, we’re proud to bring this nuanced perspective to a world stage.
This event isn’t about trophies—it’s about collaboration. About meeting peers solving the same problems in other corners of the world. About learning how others are blending tradition and innovation in nutrition.
Milk or plant? It's not a debate. It’s a design choice, made with the patient in mind.
Final Thoughts
There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to protein. What matters most is quality, completeness, and clinical relevance. Whether it's sourced from a cow or a crop, protein must serve the person it’s given to—with care, precision, and respect for their unique health journey.
So if you’re choosing between milk-based and plant-based? Start with the person. Their body will tell you what it needs. And we’ll be here to help.

The Role of Micronutrients in Supporting Cardiovascular Function
The human heart beats over 100,000 times a day, tirelessly pumping blood and nutrients throughout the body. Yet despite its critical role, cardiovascular health is often compromised by poor lifestyle choices, stress, and nutrient deficiencies. Among the many factors that influence heart health, micronutrients—vitamins and minerals required in small but essential amounts—play a foundational role.
Micronutrients help regulate blood pressure, support blood vessel integrity, modulate cholesterol levels, and even assist in reducing inflammation. As more people turn to natural ways of maintaining heart health, targeted interventions like a blood pressure supplement enriched with key micronutrients are gaining popularity.
In this article, we’ll explore how specific vitamins and minerals contribute to cardiovascular wellness and how they can be effectively incorporated into your lifestyle or supplementation routine.
Why Cardiovascular Function Depends on Micronutrients
The cardiovascular system is a complex network of the heart, blood vessels, and blood. For it to function optimally, it needs a delicate balance of electrolytes, antioxidants, and enzymes—all of which are supported by micronutrients.
Micronutrient imbalances can disrupt:
Blood vessel tone (leading to hypertension)
Cholesterol metabolism
Clotting mechanisms
Heart rhythm regulation
Inflammatory response
Let’s examine the most crucial micronutrients for cardiovascular function—and how a high-quality blood pressure supplement may help bridge dietary gaps.
Key Micronutrients for Heart Health
1. Magnesium
Magnesium is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, including muscle relaxation, nerve function, and blood vessel dilation. It helps maintain healthy blood pressure by:
Promoting vasodilation (relaxing blood vessels)
Reducing vascular resistance
Improving endothelial function
Deficiency in magnesium is associated with increased risk of high blood pressure, arrhythmias, and even sudden cardiac death.
Sources: Leafy greens, legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole grains Supplement Tip: Look for forms like magnesium glycinate or citrate in your blood pressure supplement for better absorption.
2. Potassium
Potassium plays a direct role in balancing sodium levels, thus regulating blood pressure. It helps:
Reduce the effects of sodium
Relax blood vessel walls
Lower risk of stroke
Modern diets are often high in sodium and low in potassium—a dangerous combination for cardiovascular health.
Sources: Bananas, sweet potatoes, avocados, beans, spinach Supplement Caution: Excessive potassium supplementation should only be done under medical supervision, but controlled doses in a blood pressure supplement can be beneficial.
3. Calcium
Calcium is well-known for bone health, but it also aids in muscle contraction, including the heart muscle. It regulates vascular tone and helps control blood pressure when balanced correctly with magnesium and vitamin D.
However, excess calcium without co-factors like K2 or magnesium may increase the risk of arterial stiffness, so it’s important to consume it in balanced amounts.
Sources: Dairy, tofu, fortified plant milks, leafy greens Supplement Tip: Look for calcium paired with magnesium and K2 in heart health formulations.
4. Vitamin D
Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to:
Hypertension
Arterial stiffness
Increased inflammation
This fat-soluble vitamin helps regulate the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS), a key mechanism in blood pressure control.
Sources: Sunlight, fatty fish, fortified foods Supplement Use: Vitamin D3 is the preferred form in a blood pressure supplement, often paired with K2 for arterial protection.
5. Vitamin K2
Vitamin K2 directs calcium into the bones and away from the arteries. It helps prevent vascular calcification, a major risk factor for heart disease.
Clinical studies show that regular intake of K2 may improve arterial flexibility and reduce the risk of coronary artery disease.
Sources: Natto (fermented soy), hard cheeses, egg yolks Supplement Insight: Look for menaquinone-7 (MK-7) form of K2 for best results.
6. Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)
CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant involved in energy production in heart cells. It also helps:
Reduce oxidative stress
Improve endothelial function
Lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure in some individuals
Sources: Organ meats, fatty fish, peanuts Supplement Form: Ubiquinol (active form) is highly bioavailable and often included in blood pressure supplements for cardiovascular support.
7. B Vitamins (especially B6, B9/Folate, and B12)
These B-complex vitamins regulate homocysteine, an amino acid linked to increased risk of heart disease when elevated. They also support red blood cell production and vascular health.
B6: Lowers blood pressure and reduces inflammation
Folate (B9): Assists in nitric oxide production, which promotes blood vessel dilation
B12: Supports nerve and cardiovascular function
Sources: Leafy greens, beans, eggs, meat, fortified cereals Supplement Tip: Use methylated forms like methylfolate and methylcobalamin for better absorption.
Why Blood Pressure Supplements Are in Demand
With so many critical micronutrients involved in cardiovascular health, it's no surprise that blood pressure supplements have become a convenient and effective option for those looking to support their heart function naturally.
Benefits of using a well-formulated blood pressure supplement include:
Filling dietary gaps caused by modern eating habits
Reducing reliance on high-sodium processed foods
Supporting the body's natural blood pressure regulation mechanisms
Complementing medication (when recommended by a doctor)
These supplements typically combine clinically researched nutrients into one formulation, allowing for daily support with minimal side effects.
Lifestyle Synergy: Making Micronutrients Work Better
Micronutrients work best when paired with healthy lifestyle choices. Here are essential habits to adopt for optimal heart and vascular health:
Exercise Regularly: Aim for 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity weekly.
Reduce Sodium Intake: Limit processed and packaged foods.
Manage Stress: Chronic stress affects blood pressure and heart rate.
Limit Alcohol and Quit Smoking: Both can weaken blood vessels and increase inflammation.
Stay Hydrated: Water is essential for nutrient transport and vascular tone.
Final Thoughts
Micronutrients may be small in size, but their role in cardiovascular health is enormous. From regulating blood pressure to supporting vessel elasticity and energy metabolism, these vitamins and minerals act as the heart’s silent defenders.
If you're experiencing early signs of hypertension or simply want to be proactive about heart health, a blood pressure supplement—backed by science and paired with a heart-healthy lifestyle—can be a smart and effective addition to your routine.
As always, consult your healthcare provider before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if you’re on prescription medication for blood pressure or cardiovascular conditions.
Because when it comes to your heart, small daily choices—like the right micronutrients—can lead to powerful, long-term benefits.

Why Organic Vitamin D3 Drops Are a Smart Daily Ritual for Your Child
It doesn’t matter how balanced your child’s meals arethere’s one vital nutrient many kids still miss out on: Vitamin D. Whether it’s due to limited sun exposure, picky eating, or seasonal changes, this “sunshine vitamin” often falls short in growing kids’ diets.
That’s where vitamin D drops for kids come in. They’re quick, easy, and incredibly effective in giving your child what they need to thrive—without changing their diet or daily routine.
Tumblr media
But for health-conscious parents, not just any drop will do. More and more families are turning to organic kids vitamin d3 liquid drops to ensure their little ones get clean, reliable, and high-absorption support with every single drop.
What Makes Vitamin D3 So Important for Kids?
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the most bioavailable form of vitamin D—it’s what the human body naturally produces when exposed to sunlight. For kids, it's vital because it helps with:
Calcium absorption for strong bones and teeth
Immune system support, especially during seasonal changes
Mood regulation and healthy brain development
Muscle and nerve function
Without enough vitamin D, kids may experience slow growth, frequent illness, irritability, or even early signs of bone softening (rickets). The problem? Most kids simply don’t get enough sunlight, especially those living in cities, colder climates, or spending long hours indoors.
That’s where vitamin d liquid drops for kids become a reliable safety net.
Why Liquid Drops Work Better Than Pills or Gummies
About 200 words in—time to focus on format. Why drops? Simple. They’re easier to give, absorb better, and don’t require chewing or swallowing.
Vitamin D liquid drops for kids allow for:
Easy mixing into food or drinks
Direct application on the tongue (with no taste or just a mild flavor)
Rapid absorption, especially for younger children
Unlike gummies or tablets that may lose potency or be filled with sugars and colors, liquid drops offer a more direct route to consistent, clean supplementation.
For babies, toddlers, and even older children who struggle with other forms, drops are the go-to option.
What Makes Organic Vitamin D3 Drops Stand Out?
Let’s zoom in on the key point: organic kids vitamin d3 liquid drops aren’t just convenient—they’re clean.
When you choose organic, you avoid unnecessary additives that may show up in synthetic supplements, like:
Artificial sweeteners or colors
Preservatives
Synthetic flavors or allergens
Organic formulas typically feature just a few, simple ingredients:
Vitamin D3 derived from lanolin (or algae for vegan options)
A natural carrier oil, like organic coconut or MCT oil
Sometimes a hint of organic flavoring (like berry or citrus)
It’s the kind of label you can read without squinting—no mystery ingredients, no unnecessary extras.
When Should You Start Vitamin D3 Drops?
If you’ve been wondering whether your child needs these drops, the answer is likely yes—especially if they’re:
Breastfed (breast milk has little to no vitamin D)
Not eating fortified dairy or fish regularly
Living in low-sunlight regions
Spending most of their time indoors
Doctors often recommend starting vitamin d drops for kids as early as infancy, and continuing throughout childhood. It’s one of those small things that builds a strong foundation for growth, immunity, and energy.
Daily Use Without the Daily Hassle
One of the best things about vitamin d liquid drops for kids is how effortlessly they fit into your day. Here are some easy ways parents use them:
Add to a spoonful of yogurt or applesauce
Mix with milk or juice at breakfast
Drop directly onto the tongue with no fuss
Most products require just one drop per day to meet the recommended daily intake. It’s one less thing to worry about—and one more way to feel confident in your child’s well-being.
Small Drops, Big Benefits
In a world full of complex parenting decisions, some choices are refreshingly simple. Giving your child organic kids vitamin d3 liquid drops is one of them.
Without overthinking, over-researching, or over-supplementing, you're filling a critical nutritional gap in the most natural way possible. Every drop supports their bones, brain, mood, and immunity—and that peace of mind? It’s worth its weight in sunshine.
