So... the Simon and Marcy comic. I don't like how it ends.

Like ungolbing her just doesn't work when the original ends with her becoming Golb. It's like if Vader lived past episode six of star wars. Also... just having Hunson Abadeer do it? I don't want exact power scaling here, but there is no way in hell that Hunsen Abadeer is stronger than Golb. Like, do you think if finn were to just stab golb with a sword that would work? Becuase it works on Hunsen, all the time.

Also Golb and Betty being separate entities in a single body, with Betty just still being herself... that's super boring. Golbetty as this Bizarre god being who is so far beyond a human she is detached from human emotion and no longer behaves like she has human emotions at all, that's fascinating. Also how can Betty exert energy over golb to control him? The whole point of her becoming Golb was that she cannot exert power over golb. The only being with the power to make golb stop... is golb. Her as a separate entity that is fully herself and puppeting golb as golb tries to fight it just doesn't make sense.

Yeah it's a happy ending, but it's just narratively unsatisfying and superficially emotional. After years of tragedy tearing them apart over and over again as they try desperately to recreate something that can never be again, they just sort of get to reset everything to what it was. It's like if Walter white got a redemption arc and started to recover from his cancer. It's just wrong feeling.

Fair trial doubts as Kem Sokha treason case resumes in Cambodia

Fair trial doubts:

After local elections in 2017, in which the CNRP turned in a strong performance, hundreds of police raided Sokha’s house.

Sokha was arrested for treason, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. The charge was based on a video in which Sokha said he had received advice from the US on how to build up an opposition movement.

Political deals:

Sam Rainsy was granted a royal pardon that allowed him to return to the country from a previous period of exile and run in the 2013 election.

Other CNRP leaders have been allowed to re-enter politics after seeking so-called “rehabilitation” from the government.
