2019 Hyundai Santa Fe Overview Each generation of the Hyundai Santa Fe has fallen squarely into the midsize crossover category, with comfortable amounts of space for five passengers. For the 2013 introduction of the current model, Hyundai chose to expand the line a bit, renaming it the Santa Fe Sport. The automaker created a longer-wheelbase 7-passenger version that became the non-suffixed Santa Fe nameplate. Now, for 2019, things have reversed. The current 7-passenger version continues as the Santa Fe XL, while the 5-passenger gets a ground-up redesign and the return of the Santa Fe name. Length grows a bit thanks to a longer wheelbase, but overall dimensions of the Santa Fe are about the same. Design-wise, not much of the new Santa Fe is like its predecessor. The biggest change is the face, which is a new Hyundai corporate look also seen on the new Kona crossover. On each end, the daytime running lights are in line with the top of the grille, tied together with a strong chrome horizontal brow. The headlights, fog lights, and indicators are all in a single assembly mid-bumper. There’s a strong character line that runs down each side, and, thanks to stalk-mounted side mirrors, the glass area is completely uninterrupted—an upscale feature that’s better for visibility. The rear end has a clean design. Rugged details like the abundant use of plastic lower cladding and the rear skid plate carry over from the older Santa Fe Sport. The 2019 Santa Fe has chiseled distinctive, looks and a luxurious feel. The interior sees major changes, too. The dashboard is comprised of three stitched sections that flow smoothly into each other and other panels in the car. The dashboard showcases a free-standing infotainment screen—a recent industry trend. The deeply-recessed instrument panel is just as significant. Several elements, like window switches and cup holders, were changed for better ergonomics. There are far fewer buttons on the center stack than before, and those that remain are organized neatly and logically. Overall, the interior comes across as thoughtful and cohesive. As before, the second row seats are 40/20/40 split-folding, and they create a completely-flat load floor when folded. Cargo room is as low as 35.4 feet with all seats in use, but it’s as high as 71.5 cubic feet with the second row folded flat. Both of the Santa Fe Sport’s basic powertrains return for 2019. The base 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder returns with an estimated 185 horsepower, and there’s still a turbocharged 2.0-liter upgrade with an estimated 235 hp. The big news for the 2019 Santa Fe is a new diesel engine. Hyundai expects it to make 190 hp and 322 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which peaks at just 1,750 rpm. The diesel exclusively comes with an occasional-use third row, expanding the seating capacity up to seven. All three engines get a brand-new 8-speed automatic transmission whose gear range extends for better off-the-line performance at low speeds and more efficiency at higher ones. The Santa Fe now uses a more-advanced all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup that can vary the amount of torque going to each axle to an even greater degree. There are Normal, Sport, and Smart Modes to help drivers fine-tune the system for specific types of driving. Hyundai offers a load-leveling suspension to keep the rear end in check despite cargo or trailer loads.,etc Share this video: https://youtu.be/6o5QLbD-j-c If you enjoy our content, don't forget to support us and subscribe :) SUBSCRIBE HERE https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm2go1-R8BEb9c4fvWhUCSw?sub_confirmation=1 ⚠ Don’t miss next videos: Press the little bell 🔔 to get notifications.Thank you for your visit.
