A little biting never hurt nobody for jongerry?
“A little biting never hurt nobody.”
Look it’s not Jon’s fault that he instinctively tended to bite down when something was put in his mouth. It was just something that happened. Gerry knew this, and still chose to shove his fingers into Jon’s mouth, he hadn’t even broken the skin.
The mild chewing certainly did not warrant the rigid ring currently forcing his mouth into what he assumed was a rather obscene open position. The obscenity was probably not helped by the fact that the gag made it impossible for him not to drool a little bit. He couldn’t even wipe his mouth, as Gerry had decided Jon did not get to use his hands today. So they were fastened behind his back, which had the added benefit, according to Gerry, to making Jon’s chest jut out for him to play with.
“Now a little biting never hurt nobody,” Jon grumbled, and if he could move his mouth would have probably pointed out the improper grammar in that inane comment. As it was he hoped the withering glare he shot up at Gerry from where he was kneeling properly conveyed his message.
“Oh shush, we didn’t all go to Oxford,” Jon hoped the amused look his glare morphed into conveyed the sentiment that he hadn’t said anything, and in fact could not. Gerry seemed to get the hint.
“Even when you can’t talk you’re a brat aren’t you?” Jon’s silent retort was interrupted by Gerry’s fingers pressing bank into his mouth. He gagged slightly, but Gerry was gentle enough, his other hand sliding into Jon’s hair gripping it near his scalp holding him still. Jon blushed at the rather obscene noises he couldn’t hold back, drool dripping into his chest.
“This is a much better use for it than letting you mouth off, in my opinion,” Gerry pulled his fingers out, they were dripping, and Jon whined as Gerry squeezed one of his tits, adding more drool as he fondled Jon. Jon knew in other contexts he’d find the whole thing rather gross, but Gerry someone how made it simply arousing. Jon couldn’t hold back his moans with his mouth held open, and Gerry was smirking as he continued his onslaught, moving to his other breast.
“So pretty for me,” Jon could barely keep his legs still as he felt himself getting wet, though the slight movement he couldn’t hold back clearly wasn’t unnoticed.
“Poor thing let me help,” Gerry’s help consisted of pressing the toe of his boot between Jon’s legs and while Jon couldn’t hold back a squeak. He also managed a rather impressive glare, which was also ruined when Gerry tugged one of his nipples and Jon’s whole body shook.
Deciding that getting to come was more important than his dignity at the moment, not that he had a whole lot of that, he pressed down against the shoe between his legs. Moaning as he couldn’t stifle them, while Gerry used one hand to play with Jon’s tits, the other in his own pants, clearly fingering himself to Jon’s debasement. Jon did his best to grind himself into an orgasm, Gerry helpfully commenting on how good he looked, and how pretty he was, and other embarrassing endearments.
Of course a part of Jon’s brain was also plotting revenge, he’d show Gerry how bratty he could really be.
#get your JonGerry here#*rings a little bell*#I hope this is acceptable#I am here to objectify Jon#Gerry is also here for that#JG#Gerry my beloved#also bratty sub Jon my beloved#he is getting off on this but he will have his revenge#hehe#answered asks#ask meme#Jon’s oral fixation but it’s biting my beloved#also yes Jon would call out Gerry’s grammar#because he is a posh little brat

Hi Esther, I hope you are free of your MCU marathon (but enjoyed time with your nephew).
One of the ideas I've been toying with this morning is that the reason Jonsa is Like That in the show is because it's free(r) of sexualisation. That ask from another anon about incest being morally reprehensible because it is the ostensible place girls and women should be free from the encroachment of sexual harassment/sexualisation made me wonder if the reason so many of us oscillated with Jonsa in the show because a) it was, genuinely, the only dynamic set up in any way that had emotional catharsis and relief without power dynamics until S7/S8 (even then Jon entrusts his power to Sansa); up until this point Sansa had nobody she could be honest with - this is conveyed by Sophie's acting alone, and b) the writers, the misogynists they are (the show is really a travesty for me but let's not go there), wrote Jonsa as a more loving and equal dynamic because they couldn't objectify her as a love interest. If I were to go into examples here, let's just focus on the reunion: it is completely and totally earnest and rewarded relief for both characters, and both perspectives are emphasised. We are usually shut out of the woman's in a male-driven romance.
Objectification is the problem in male-driven romance and really shows through with Jon/D/aenerys and I don't think it's just an issue of chemistry. There is something structurally deeper there that's wrong, and they failed to write it as a Gothic romance (which I think they sortttt of went for with Dragonstone and the tone of the relationship) and as an enemies-to-lovers dynamic (aka riffing off the 'hate to love' romcom expectations, less so any true tension as actual political enemies). The fans who enjoy JD in the show are really attracted to this element and it's no coincidence that this is the predominant archetype in romance genre fiction (and it's no coincidence JD attracted normies hgdjhgfi).
So I wondered if we picked up on the romantic elements in Jonsa... because it's not the misogynistic male view of romance. Which is kind of ironically counter to what that ask was trying to say - but I think this is actually argument for why women can be attracted to the motif in literature, the romance genre, fanfic, etc. because it is where there should be freedom from objectified sexualisation, and by virtue that is attractive, because the characters can meet each other with vulnerability and the female character can expect she should be safe with him (and the forbidden love is attractive lmao). This is only really possible with same-age/non-intergenerational incest and whilst I do think the incest motif in Victorian literature is not necessarily down to these elements, I do think there is a persisting reason on both sides (male writer side and female audience side, in this instance) that this dynamic might have attracted us? Obviously they're more aware of the incest motif in GOT, and probably teased parallels to other incestuous relationships for a reason, but is there the possibility they didn't even really know what they were doing?
This is with the hypothesis in mind that Jonsa either doesn't happen in the books or GRRM, for whatever reason, held that card to his chest, or they discarded the idea altogether.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, because whilst I do feel Jonsa is Romantic in the show, I think it's potentially more to my sensibilities. No way did I ever expect D&D to write a compassionate, mutual romance lol.
P.S. to address the refutation - 'Then why does Kit Harrington look at his sister like that' - I don't know what was going through that man's mind. I am not familiar enough with his oeuvre to say one way or another - in terms of comparing his romantic acting choices - but I would still potentially write that off as the reasons I've described here. Women's view of romance in fiction is often quite different to men's. (I am not prescribing gender here, just speaking generally, and speaking to specific traditions between men and women's spaces).
(related to this ask)
I’m fascinated by this message. Yours is the first, “they didn’t mean it to be romantic” take that I’ve heard and found believable.
it was, genuinely, the only dynamic set up in any way that had emotional catharsis and relief without power dynamics until S7/S8
Dude, even at the end of s8, other than the Lannisters, it was the relationship that escaped with any dignity. It still blows my mind that they didn't allow Jon and Arya any bonding time in s8, and that their last scene is Jon telling Arya to come visit, and her basically being like, "thanks but no thanks bro" with the audience getting the distinct impression, this is the last time they'll see each other which is actually what D&D wanted to convey based on the script. Mind boggling! I've said before, Jon and Sansa's dynamic and the themes of their relationship carried through the last three seasons in a more coherent, meaningful way than any other relationship. One could argue that's because the actors cared and carried that emotional journey through with their acting, but I think it's in the writing too.
the show is really a travesty for me but let's not go there
I'm a show fan, I still enjoy show verse fics/art/meta, but I understand! I haven't watched an episode since the finale, and I didn't/wont watch HOTD either.
wrote Jonsa as a more loving and equal dynamic because they couldn't objectify her as a love interest.
This has merit because apparently in the script of when Jon met Dany they describe Dany as "cute as a bug" or something, so to them, they did reduce Dany to her beauty, the dynamic to "hot people meet, hot people bang" without regard to the political reality that were meant to be working in (as in, a marriage alliance was something Dany mentioned before coming to Westeros, would have made sense in s7 to resolve their stalemate and was only discussed in s8 because people realized they were interested in each other, but at that point it wouldn't have been beneficial politically??? WTF?) and also without care for the ramifications of what they did to Jon "I will not father a bastard" Snow immediately trying to father a bastard with an invader who blithely talked about letting his family/people die and massacring everyone in KL. I too see genocidal conquerors who don't give a shit if my loved ones die a horrible death and Westeros as a whole is conquered by ice zombies as romantic prospects, but I expected better of Jon! The idea that that registers as "mother of my child" to him might even be considered a red flag as to his mental state.
Obviously they're more aware of the incest motif in GOT, and probably teased parallels to other incestuous relationships for a reason, but is there the possibility they didn't even really know what they were doing?
I think it were it were only the jaime x cersei and jonsa parallels, we could conclude they exist to tell us, "jonsa is the good/non incestuous sibling duo." Or, if it were only braime and jonsa parallels, we could conclude, well this is to show what mutual care and respect can do for people. Or if it were only nedcat and jonsa parallels we might conclude, these exist simply because it will help the North rally to them/to show them as the new heads of House Stark. But,what are they getting at with all three, all romantic pairings? What can possibly be gained from the sam x gilly and jonsa parallels? There's no connection there unless it's romantic, no? Or the robb x talisa and jonsa parallels, why shoot them the same way? Now that I think about it, the recreation of SamGilly scenes with Jonsa may be the most damning, because I can come up with explanations for the others (Robb is KitN, Jon is KitN, maybe they wanted to film them in the same way?), but the SamGilly stuff is just romance tropes they used once and then reused for a sibling duo. The fact that all these other pairings had sex is a little sus. At the very least, it wasn't only accidental actor chemistry. Some of those writing/framing choices show intent.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, because whilst I do feel Jonsa is Romantic in the show, I think it's potentially more to my sensibilities. No way did I ever expect D&D to write a compassionate, mutual romance lol.
I'm gonna say something outrageous here, I don't know that D&D are as dumb as most of the people in the fandom claim. A lot of fans blame them for things that I believe are a version of plot points Martin gave them. As in, they were holding him responsible for "destroying" Stannis the same way they hold them responsible for "destroying" Dany, and they were blamed for King Bran too, but all three of those things are gonna happen in the books. What else…they also hated Jaime dying with Cersei. That’s happening in the books too! SO, it's possible that a lot of the crimes we hold them responsible for, were them trying to pull together a story Martin is still expanding, and mow down developments that even in his hands, I'm simply not gonna care for. I mean, maybe we're getting the ideal Jonsa in the books, but it's possible that Jon has more parallels/contrasts to Rhaegar in store for him and that he was meant to agree to a political marriage to Dany although he's in love with a Stark girl (which would tie in with the Jace/Sara stuff), and D&D thought, show Jon simply isn't dark enough, they couldn't do that, so instead they discarded the acknowledged Jonsa romance and the Jonerys political marriage and tried the weird, enemies to lovers/forbidden love thing with Jonerys that made no fucking sense and was universally panned by critics. 🤷🏻♀️
I do not know the beats Martin wants to hit, so I bitch about D&D while also trying to give them room for feeling helpless when it came to delivering on what might potentially be, a pretty convoluted wrap up. That doesn't change the fact that they mischaracterized my favs and really fucked up the landing, but before and after s8, Martin has compared it to the adaptation of Gone with the Wind, and I've pointed out before, that's one of the best book to screen translations I've seen. I'm not sure that I've seen a movie that remained as tied to the source material, so that lurks in the back of my mind in a positive and a negative way. Negative, Jon may go through a lot more shit I don't want him to experience. The positive, they understood some significance to the Jon and Sansa relationship even if they never fully clarified the nature of what was happening there.
P.S. to address the refutation - 'Then why does Kit Harrington look at his sister like that' - I don't know what was going through that man's mind. I am not familiar enough with his oeuvre to say one way or another - in terms of comparing his romantic acting choices
I actually did watch several of Kit's movies and some appearances in TV shows after s8 purely for Jonsa reasons. 😂 I wanted to know if he was a very limited actor so he couldn't express different types of love or if his anger/intensity always comes off a little sexual etc. Jonsas have posted comparisons of some of this, I can't find all the gifs now but Kit acts the forehead kiss similarly to how he kisses a romantic lead, he hugged Sansa in the same way he hugs his character's romantic partners in The Eternals and Testament of Youth (his fingers splayed across their backs and dipping his face into their neck). I didn't think he was a great actor, but I also didn't think he was incapable of delivering on the expected emotion. Other fans have said that he had personal issues during filming of the last seasons which explain his acting struggles, but in s7-8, he did just fine in scenes with Sansa, Tormund, Gendry, Tyrion... The only time he was consistently not delivering were Dany scenes, so I don't fully buy that. In fact, the specific look he gives Dany when he declared her his queen is one he uses on the red carpet for pics, (it's def his version of Flynn's "the smolder" lmao) it isn’t one I saw him using in a movie to communicate sincere emotion, love or vulnerability, so I think it's more likely D&D knew Dark Dany/dead Dany was going to be so hated they opted not to pull the trigger on Jon's story. It makes sense to me that they screwed him over in the edit attempting to appease Targ fans and keep them around for HBO's spinoffs.
I'm totally fine with that not working as an explanation for others, it’s an unpopular opinion, but the other factor here is that Sansa was incredibly jealous in s8. Sansa looked at Jon with heart eyes and then walked away in a huff when Jon looked at Dany during the feast (8x04). After that, I did see people who hated Jonsa and even professional reviewers questioning the nature of Sansa's feelings, and yet, nothing came of it. Sophie was always great, her acting was never criticized so what to make of that other then, she was instructed to deliver that performance, I don't know. Makes me wonder what instructions D&D were giving Kit, cuz Cogman was out there after s8 defending them by saying they’re responsible for crafting every performance that we loved. 😐Sansa had clear reasons to dislike/distrust Dany, the jealousy issue was clearly personal and about Jon/his feelings, so, like some of the parallels, this speaks to D&D's intent, not to the actors being bad. Some said it was just another example of D&D's misogyny that Sansa and Dany couldn't get along, obviously, I disagree. Sansa wanted the North's freedom, of course she wasn't going to be fine with giving it up, but there was an entirely different thread through their interactions and in the Jon/Dany scenes which inevitably involved Sansa in s8, all of which was entirely unnecessary unless there was more, something unspoken, there.
If you accept that, there's an awful lot of stuff that suddenly makes sense. That's where I always end up because imo, D&D wanted to do Dark Sansa, they teased it, they didn't do justice to her perspective even when she was right, they were critical of her treatment of Tyrion making him out to be the good guy even though he married a little girl and murdered his gf, and they wrote in their finale script that Jon couldn't forgive Sansa. On their own, would they also write the hero coming to have great respect and trust for her? Would they write her coming to power unprompted? Would they write her having an inexplicable power over Jon? Would they write Jon killing the most popular character to protect her for lolz? I don't think so. I think they were caught between a rock and a hard place and tried to deliver on certain Martin ideas without alienating the entire fanbase. As a lover of characters, I think that was a huge mistake, but judging by the success of HOTD, clearly, their calculations were correct.

not any of my business AT ALL but noticed you said buck was too young for you at 6 years older and then I got curious....what is your type? (obvs feel free to ignore)
it’s absolutely your business my daddy issues is my favorite topic. just. imagine me tucking my feet up under myself 🥰
no read more link i'm making this everyone's business <3
(we're doing this mainly based off of looks just to make it easy. i'm also someone who values physical attraction greatly, so it makes sense to me. personally. i'll talk a little bit about just general personality and vibes at the end, though!)
get in losers, we're objectifying men! (with respect, and the acknowledgment that just like women, they are all real people, and have a lot more to offer, even the characters, they're played by real people. and i'm sure they're all wonderful people until i'm proven otherwise.)
okay. so.
i’m a pretty introspective person and i’ve actually been thinking about this lately because my taste is. relatively. unpredictable.
i did indeed say that buck would be too young for me at roughly 6 years older and i stand by that because here’s the thing: i feel like when people think of daddy issues in terms of age, they think of. people being interested in people who are. a little bit older. my personal daddy issues run so deep, i need them older. (we’re specifically talking about men. i like women too - but that’s neither here nor there and i have a good relationship with my mom, so that’s not what we’re talking abt rn.) i’m into men that like. if i told you they were my dad, you would not fucking blink.
and it’s not just the age. being an objectively attractive man roughly 20 years my senior? that’s not necessarily enough. we’re going off of celebrities and fictional characters right now cause it’s just an easy way to explain things but there are plenty of men who are very objectively attractive and are twenty years older than me, but who just. don’t look it. and i absolutely see why people thirst after them but they’re just. not for me. like. okay.
manny montana? very pretty. i love looking at him. and he is much older than me. and yet, not my type.
same with like. andy samberg. so. very. pretty. and roughly a couple decades older than me. my type? nope.
now - tony dalton?
yeah. yeah.
^^^ and it’s not just “lalo’s hot” no no no no no my ass is in the discord server at 3am losing it over pictures like this:

(^^^ he's not btw. not to me.)
when i tell y’all i’m hopeless i am HOPELESS
anyway moving onto someone else i’m feral about: billy burke but ONLY when he’s scruffy okay?
this? i mean i wouldn’t… not let hit, but
when i say im feral abt billy burke i’m talking about charlie swan and i’m talking abt this:
honorable mention i am also feral as fuck abt robert knepper
and now, i can hear you saying "oh nie, i get it, so you're not attracted to men who have like chronic boy face, i get it!!! you're into like. the jeffrey dean morgan, joe manganiello types!"
nope. i am not the slightest bit attracted to either of those men. like. *vanessa hudgens voice* i get it. i respect it.
not for me tho.
NOW. there is a little bit of a gray area when we talk about men who like... have chronic boy face and everything else about them is just... not that energy.
like. raul castillo for example.
(he looks a lot like a young version of my maternal grandpa, but that's just. something we're not gonna touch rn.) first of all? my immediate reaction is not "let me hit" my first reaction is very similar to manny montana in the sense that like. so. pretty.
but also? tummyyyyyyy so nvm let me hit yk what i mean?
(for some reason jon bernthal also goes in this category. they don't look anything alike but. same vibes to me in terms of how attracted i am, personally. where it's like. sure. yknow?)
i am also forever a mustache warrior, okay, shave off a mustache? doesn't usually necessarily ruin it for me, but grow one? it's better. immediately. actually, while oliver, just like buck, is too young to be my type, the only picture in existence where i am even the slightest bit attracted to oliver is the one from that photoshoot where the lighting accidentally made it look like he had one:
that's it. that's the only one.
(while we're on the topic of 9-1-1 cast: ryan also is too young for me, but i am very attracted to him when he has long hair. the second it's gone, he's just a silly little guy to me. i'm not really attracted to peter, although i wouldn't... say no. i'm here for kenny, though. absolutely. anytime.)
now so i feel less bad about objectifying every single man mentioned in this post, let's talk personalities (not specifically the ones mentioned, because i don't know them. this is just abt me and just general vibes that i'm drawn to) i need the vibe to be like. relaxed, which i think loops right back around to daddy issues, of course - it's not that i would be turned off if i'm with a man and he needs to cry on my shoulder 'cause something happened, that's fine - but generally there needs to be a feeling of just. not a lot of stress, not a lot of anxiety, things are handled, things will work out - you know. and usually, you tend to get that from people who are. a lot older. even people in their 30s don't usually have their shit together like that. (which is fine!!) but it's just so. just. easy to breathe when someone's like "eh, i'll fix it" (and yes, my love language is indeed acts of service)
as i put it in another post at some point: [billy burke in twilight] awakened the innermost parts of me that yearn to be railed by scruffy, mustached men old enough to be my father who look like they smell like a campfire and taste like tobacco and like i would tell them i wanted dick and they would nod once and say "yes ma'am"
the end <3

Its so interesting hearing how other people also tie Jay's relationship with clothing to his home culture and his experiences as a survivor of... what he is a survivor of (I just played minecraft for an hour and my brain is rocks, I forget the smart words). I think that's a really interesting reading, that would make a lot of sense for Gamorra's geopolitical location, and it boosts the idea I'm presenting here that Nia is showing an intimate knowledge of her friend while also definitely not understanding at ALL the nuances of why he behaves the way he does. She's a white lady from America, I doubt she gets the nuances of modesty in ANY religious context except MAYBE the protestant one (and if you've spent any time in the midwest you know thats a maybe). You can also tie it into Jay's racial coding as an indigenous man, something I've argued for in the past, as a lot of indigenous cultures from that area have traditional clothing styles that shows almost no skin (due to the mountainous terrain) and also have similar modesty cultures.
I also feel safe to float a similar reading in that like... speaking as a csa survivor myself, I recognize Jay's aversion to being seen as being tied to his aversion of touch. Between the Implications That Go Unremarked Upon of what being in a colonizer's Torture Chamber for six months could mean, and what is becoming apparent as uncontrolled PTSD, Jay is REMARKABLY un-touchy for most of his appearances. Hell, the first time we ever see earth-0 Jay reciprocate a hug was this year in Shazam #20 (You may think it was Super Son, but he doesn't hug back! Go check!). Its also quite literally his power, and stands in stark contrast to Injaystice, who... offers a stranger from another universe a hug completely unprompted. This tied with his seemingly utter and complete desire for No One To Look At Him with his clothing choices, something that has significantly gotten more pronounced since his recapture.... Makes me go "haha, I know that one".
Jay's relationship to clothing is one that is REMARKABLY consistent across books and its one I find really interesting to study and try and figure out his internal drive for, because its so rare nowadays you get characters with consistent fashion choices like that. Its so consistent that when Jay had his sleeves rolled up in Ground Zero, I felt like a Victorian man seeing an ankle. SCANDALIZED.
It also plays interestingly with his role as a love interest. Its STUPID rare you see a character like Jay who is permitted to be modest and non-objectified, while still being BLATANTLY sexually desired by our main hero. Jon wants that man so badly it gives me secondhand embarrassment. Decorum before the lord, son. All without the writers and artists feeling the need to shop Jay out to us like a piece of meat (something that I think would undermine his story as a trafficking survivor if they did).
But no you're not crazy. Its one of Jay's most consistent traits and I am FASCINATED with it.
Lock in, JayNia fans, I'm about to cornplate in ways hereto unseen by humanity.
Something that caught my eye while reading Secret Six issue 2 was Jay's prison uniform. It has white sleeves.
(Disclaimer: Yeah yeah I know probably none of this is intentional at all. Segovia probably just thought sleeves looked cool. Walk with me anyways because I can make anything insane.)
I've talked before how Jay is a surprisingly modest character. We've seen him in short sleeves exactly one time and it was during a pride special not written by any of his main authors. Most of the time, he's almost completely covered, including (especially) in his current costume.
Jay's prison garb in Bendix's prison was essentially a medical gown. You ever worn one of those you know they're uncomfortable, revealing, drafty, and leave you feeling uncomfortable.
The prison uniform Jay got under Nia's watch had an undershirt.
Knowing Nia was the one primarily keeping watch over him, bringing him food and what not, it begs the question- Did she bring him that? Did she recognize he'd be more comfortable like that, and go out of her way for it?
The idea of Nia observing Jay's a very modest person and hates revealing clothing and going out of her way to make his PRISON UNIFORM more comfortable for him. THE SYMBOLISM OF THAT. To Nia it's a little act of resistance, a way to try and help her friend in what she views as an impossible situation, since as we saw the page before, she's been in that spot! But to Jay it's what, a fucking taunt? Making him 'comfortable' does not change Jay's material circumstances as a prisoner of an imperialist state, even as its Nia showing effort. One of them thinks there can be kindness here, but the other knows even the act of imprisonment makes any kindness devoid.
Read this way, its representative of their entire relationship.
#normally i wouldnt bring up that sort of heavy stuff to anybody but like i know what youre about i see the shit u post in the jon tag LOL#csa mention //

My Peak TV Journey *American Auto*
Last season I said I would not mind if it wasn’t renewed the second season was much more enjoyable and now I am bummed that there will not be a third. Like Grand Crew, it had a season finale that works as a series finale. But I also want to see more of these
First I’m going to discuss why I think the second season was better than the first. Then I’m going to discuss the regular cast and how I appreciate them.
Some of what it was this was after a crisis management while the first season was all about getting into the crisis. The absurdity was still dark, but didn’t feel like it was all doom and gloom. It’s is also that as with all good sitcoms, it played around with how various characters in the ensemble played off each other and got some interesting results.
The cast was led by Ana Gasteyer as Katherine Hastings who I have enjoyed since her SNL days. This is really the first time I have seen her as a lead. I am not sure that’s a great fit for her, but as her character also is a bad fit for the company, Payne Automotive, there was room to work with that. She didn’t like cars, (which I relate to) but pushed full speed ahead with ideas that did not have. Her signature project is the Pika, a very inexpensive car that no one who likes cars can see the appeal of.
Harriet Dyer played her most frequent ally and uncomfortable appeaser. I had never heard of her before. Over the first season I sometimes thought of her as the lead like the series was about her handling Katherine and how that complicated her romance. That perception was probably a sign of how the show needed rebalancing? But also means that i would like to see Dyer as a lead.
Michael B Washington played Cyrus Knight, the chief engineer and the coworker most profoundly frustrated by Katherine’s ignorance of cars. He’s my favorite character. His schemes and disdain for most of his coworkers should have belied his likability but didn’t.
Jon Barinholtz played Wesley Payne, one of the heirs to the company’s founder. I was familiar with him from Superstore where he played Adam. I didn’t realize that he and Ike Barinholtz were brothers until Ike appeared here as his brother/antagonist. I never realized they looked a lot until I saw them side by side. Wesley was entitled, thinking he shone to a point he can’t tell he’s a punchline. But his entitlements does come with a real enthusiasm for his family’s legacy. Better developed raport’s in the second season especially the sweet goofy one with Dori.
Sadie’s love interest, Jack, was played by Tye White. Jack the character with the most implausible CV, and he knows it. Has an appealing modestly in response to being frequently objectified and very lucky.
I never heard of X Mayo before seeing her here as Dori. She is delightful, playing well off of her costars. I especially liked seeing Dori and Cyrus compete over creating fake Twitter followers for Katherine. and her a Wesley brainstorm cost cutting ideas. I was always disappointed when she wasn’t on every episode.
Humphrey Ker as Elliot also was not in every episode, but I didn’t miss him as much. I think it was a strong performance, if more familiar than the characters who excited me more. I think I also associated him too strongly with the dark and not fun aspects of season one. There was a scene where he was on the phone with a family member in England trying to save them from a possibly defective car without saying that it was possibly defective that I think of as an example of the first season being too dark to be funny. I really enjoyed the episode where he did not realize that the “woman” he was talking to was an AI.

I love your SuperStar stories!! You write them so diggity-dang well and I’m hooked. I am a sucker for jealousy fics, so if you have time, could you bless me with a Drabble of either Mar’i or Jon jealous?
Consider yourself blessed 😘 😘 😘
------------------------
“These are beautiful!” Mar’i exclaims, smelling a bouquet of fresh flowers Maya set out on their stall.
“You really out did yourself this time, Maya.” Jon agrees, helping Kathy unload some of their produce. The two powered beings act like normal humans as they pass crates of vegetables to each other. Their girlfriends watch them before exchanging a silent look.
“Hamilton County Kids.” Mar’i says.
“Droite? Ils ne les font pas comme ça n'importe où.” Maya laughs. Kathy laughs as she lifts apples onto the table.
“I think our girls are objectifying us, Jon.”
“Was bound to happen.” Jon snorts, setting a crate of tomatoes down. “But they’re cute, they get away with it.”
Mar’i sticks her tongue out at him, “You’re mean sometimes.”
Shaking his head, Jon chuckles, “I’m going to check out a few stalls. You girls try not to take over the world.”
“No promises.”
Knowing that’s the best he’ll get, Jon leaves the three girls to their conversation while he explores. A few people recognize him, asking about his family, commenting on how grown up he’s gotten. Jon chats with a few of them, laughing at some old stories they remind him off.
“Honey! Fresh honey!” a voice calls out. Jon looks over, noticing a pretty blonde glancing at him. Figuring she’s looking for a sale, Jon goes over.
“Hey, how are you today?”
“Much better now.” She says with a smile, “You lookin’ for anything specific today?”
“Just helping some friends. They asked for some help with loading and unloading stuff. You here with someone?”
“My dad, but he’s gettin’ stuff from the car. I’m Mary Elizabeth.”
“Jon.” He offers his hand to her.
At Maya and Kathy’s stall, the others chat about the flowers and veggies for sale. Mar’i smiles as Maya tucks a loose blonde curl behind Kathy’s ear, “Things good for you two?”
“When she’s not speaking in French, acting like I can’t read her mind.” Kathy winks at her girlfriend.
Maya smiles, kissing Kathy’s cheek, “Quel est le plaisir de parler une autre langue si je ne peux pas te taquiner dedans, ma belle?“
As the two girls tease each other, Mar’i looks for Jon. It doesn’t take long, seeing how she towers over most people. Maya and Kathy notice the princess stiffen, impossible eyes narrowing. They follow her gaze to Jon at the honey stall, oblivious to the girl’s flirty body language.
“Excuse me a moment.”
“Bless his heart.” Kathy laughs as Mar’i moves away from the stall.
“You’re not from around here, are you?” Mary Elizabeth asks.
“Grew up in Hamilton, but I live near Metropolis now.”
“Anywhere else?” She leans forward.
“Smallville to see my grandparents. My brothers and I help out on their farm when we can.”
“Oh, so that’s where you got those muscles.”
Jon blinks, feeling heat rise in his cheeks. “Um...”
This is why the others think you’re innocent, dumbass. Jon thinks, trying to figure out what to say. Mary Elizabeth blinks as someone approaches the stall, while Jon relaxes, hearing a familiar heart beat.
“Hey, babe.” Mar’i kisses Jon’s cheek, her arm sliding around his waist.
“Oh, sorry, I didn’t realize...”
“Don’t worry,” The princess offers a kind smile, “Jon forgets how cute he is sometimes.”
Jon buys a few jars of honey, cheeks burning as they walk back to Maya and Kathy. The former assassin hides her laugh, “I don’t know if I’ve seen Mar’i jealous before.”
“Not jealous.” Mar’i pouts.
“Definitely jealous.” Kathy nods at Maya. Jon slides an arm around Mar’i’s waist, kissing her temple. “How do you not notice a girl’s flirting with you, Jon?”
“I thought she was being nice! Besides, why would I notice when I already have the best girl for me?” That gets a smile from Mar’i.
“Smart man.” Maya snorts, turning to help a customer.

When Bumblebee Gets A Honest Trailer
I hope it's something like I've been joking about how it might be. I've been wanting to make this for a long time. Listen I don't like Honest Trailers a whole hell'va lot. Yet I swear it's interesting of how the hell their honest trailer for Bumblebee is gonna look like.
Even though it could be negative like they usually are which I hate. But God considering the reaction to Bumblebee and what the previous Transformers films were I hope to God it's something like I've thought of especially today I've thought of some new additions to this joke. I just remember now what I forgot I just want Jon Bailey to swear a lot like he did for The Wolf On Wall Street honest trailer.
Now here's my possible idea of how a honest trailer for Bumblebee is gonna look like.
"Wait.....what is this? Why isn't Charlie being objectified and sexualized? Why isn't Memo being a racist stereotype? Why aren't their mindless explosions everywhere? Why are the Transformers not interchangeable and actually recognizable!? Why are the Decepticons actual characters and not mindless animals!? Why is this movie actually funny!? Why isn't the military taking all the focus!? Where's all the sex jokes!? Why can you actually see the fight scenes!? Why does the story make sense!? WHY AM I ACTUALLY CARING ABOUT THESE CHARACTERS!? WHY AM I ACTUALLY CRYING ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!? YOU MADE ME CRY DURING A LIVE ACTION TRANSFORMERS FILM HOW THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT!? YOU MEAN WE'VE BEEN WAITING ALL THIS FUCKING TIME FOR A GREAT TRANSFORMERS MOVIE AND WE ACTUALLY FUCKING GOT OH MY FUCKING GOD!? Listen it's not the greatest movie ever made BUT JESUS FUCKING CHRIST WE'VE GOT FIVE MICHAEL BAY TRANSFORMERS FILMS AND TRAVIS KNIGHT COMES ON TO DIRECT AND WE GET THIS!? HOLY FUCKING SHIT PARAMOUNT AND HASBRO GIVE ME MORE FILMS LIKE THIS I WANT THAT OPTIMUS PRIME AND CYBERTRON MOVIE RIGHT FUCKING NOW!? IT TOOK THAT FUCKING LONG MY GOD IT FINALLY HAPPENED A GREAT TRANSFORMERS FILM AND IT'S THE BUMBLEBEE MOVIE THEIR IS HOPE OH MY GOD!?"
The new joke and it's the starring part.
"The epic voice guy as Soundwave and Shockwave. *Cuts to him at the mic* Hell yeah you thought that was Frank Welker or Corey Burton no it was me! Hell yeah bitches I'm in a mother fucking Transformers film!"
Now the one which I was inspired by some comments I think below their honest trailer for The Last Knight.
"Bumblebee thank God for Travis Knight"
Now a new one I just thought of for the final moment.
"Now I hope to God Michael Bay doesn't come back because he clearly doesn't wanna do these films anymore. *See's Lorenzo's confusing comments on the movie* Okay Lorenzo buddy get the fuck out of this franchise BECAUSE I AM NOT DEALING WITH YOUR BULLSHIT ANYMORE MOTHER FUCKER!"
Tags dealt with I've been wanting to make this for a long time now. Hope folks don't mind in the Charlie Watson tag.

Reading & Response #1
Postmodernism can be difficult to define due to its many components. The concept says that there is “no real truth” because knowledge is always discovered or invented by humans. There may or may not be some sort of truth to this knowledge we invent, but we will truly never know according to Postmodernism. Overall, Postmodernism is a 20th-century movement defined by subjectivism, relativism, skepticism, a suspicion of reason, and an acute sensitivity to the role of ideology in asserting and maintaining political and economic power. It is a way of thinking about culture and many other things. For example, one work of art is never better than any other, it’s only that you prefer it based on a certain set of principles, standards or tastes that makeup who you are as a person. Something I found to be rather interesting upon researching Postmodernism is that according to the concept all ideas and facts are “believed” and not fully “known”- which can make one think “wow have I been living a lie? Are my truths, beliefs, and reality what is the actual 100% truth?” .. kind of a trippy thought if you ask me! There’s a lot that comes with Postmodernism (I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all) but these bulleted points I am about to list below have helped me understand the concept better!
Postmodernism is..
- an emphasis on the centrality of style, at the expense of substance
- recycling past cultures and styles
- a playful use of “useless” decoration
- celebration of complexity and contradiction (mixture of high and low culture)
- sensitivity to the subtleties of image, language, and signs
- intermixing different styles (collaging)
- accepting the collapse of distinction and difference
- celebrate pluralism and diversity
- skepticism towards absolutism
- decline of the idea of only one source of meaning (truth)

Postmodernism examples through art!
1. Escaping the confines of museums
Title: Untitled
Artists: Travis Czejaksju, Jon Stommel, Rather Severe
Year: 2017
This piece is really cool and actually located right here in Denver on the Cherry Creek Trail! I think this absolutely escapes the confines of the museums because you do not have to go to a museum to witness the art. We are lucky to live in a city where there is art like this every where :)
2. Collapsing boundaries between “high” and “low”

Title: Mona Cat
Artist: Romero Britto
Year: 2010
This resembles escaping high and low for me because it is mixing a classic masterpiece that is treasured with a fun twist on it!
3. Rejecting originality

Artist: Yesenia Caloca
This piece rejects originality because she is obviously “copying” and remaking her own interpretation of this Frida piece! It is sad that imitation is the highest form of flattery, and I think she did a great job :)
4. Jouissance

Title: Boats in the Harbour
Artist: Andre Derain
Year: 1905
“Art must not be intelligent; art is a jouissance, an enjoyment.” – Andre Derain - I think he nailed it.
5. Working collaboratively

Title: Olympic Rings
Artists: Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat
Year(s): 1980-1986
These two artists worked together for years to create this masterpiece along with many others! Team work makes the dream work baby!
6. Appropriating

Title: Mona Lisa Duckface
Artist & Year: Unknown
This was a brilliant representation of appropriation! Using a timeless classic with the twist of society today.
7. Simulating
Title: Maple Street #4
Artist: Gregory Crewdson
Year: 2003
I personally struggled with this one, but I think the book’s example of Gregory Crewdson was perfect! He photographs In suburban settings or on elaborately detailed sets of American homes, interiors, and neighborhoods- Gregory Crewdson stages haunting, cinematic photos of alienation and eerie quietude.
8. Hybridizing

When learning about hybridizing, this image is the first thing I thought of. I think it does an incredible example of showing different cultures of people into one piece of art to share a message. I unfortunately could not track down the artist, year, or title of this piece!
9. Mixing media

Title: No title
Artist: Taylor Stark
Year: 2018
I have this piece hanging in my room! It’s mixed media because it’s a combination of oil paint and gold foil all combined together to create this.
10. Layering

Artist/Photographer: David Samuel Stern
Stern uses different photographs and combines them in a layering effect to create a sense of “mood” when viewing the image! It places an emphasis on emotion and depth.
11. Mixing codes

This image is the perfect example of mixing codes because we all associate the color green with “go” and the color red with “stop”! This creates a state of confusion for the viewer. I unfortunately was not able to locate the artist, year, or name of this photograph or sign.
12. Re-contextualizing

Title: Allegory of Venus, Restored (oil on panel)
Artist: Kathleen Gilje
Year: 1997
Kathleen shows the viewers re-contextualization by adding hidden twists to classic pictures that change the context of the picture entirely!
13. Confronting the gaze

Title: Vertical Screws
Artist: Judith Berstein
Year: 2014
Upon researching “confronting the gaze” I’d have to say it’s probably my favorite! For centuries, women have been sexualized and objectified in way that’s appealing to men. Nowadays, a lot of feminists use this form of art to show their freedom of sexuality- an example of this is that their art can be depicting their sexual desires in a way that does not cater to men, but to themselves in a way that’s liberating! Judith has titled this piece “vertical screws” but I think we all know what we truly see, which is confronting the gaze!
14. Facing the abject

Title: Chicken Knickers
Artist: Sarah Lucas
Year: 1997
Abject refers to the “ugly” in art and the unsavory parts of life. The abject has a strong feminist context, in that female bodily functions in particular are ‘abjected’ by a patriarchal social order.
15. Constructing identities

Title: The Emancipation Approximation (Scene 18)
Artist: Kara Walker
Year: 1999-2000
This piece resembles constructing identities to me because the girl in black (I would assume to be her true self) feels the need to wear a mask or disguise as the girl in the white, which is what I would guess society expects her to be like.
16. Using narratives

Title: Andromeda freed by Perseus
Artist: Piero Di Cosimo
Year: c1510-1515
This piece tells a story and really lives up to the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” which uses narratives!
17. Creating metaphors

Artist: Joey Guidone
This is heartwarming picture showing how the smallest gesture can make someone’s day. The man with the umbrella may not of thought he was doing much, but as you can see it totally made the homeless man happy!
18. Irony, parody, and dissonance

Title: La Clairvoyance.
Artist: René Magritte
Year: 1936
Upon researching this piece of art, it appears Magritte is painting a self-portrait of himself painting a bird. But, as with all of Magritte's work, there is so much more going on. Not only is he painting a picture of a bird, he is using an unhatched egg as his point of reference. Magritte is painting more than what is right in front of him: he is painting the possibility, potential, the future!

AM: Wow, it’s crazy to think about how far Jon and Liz have come. From Jon awkwardly, pathetically trying to flirt with her to him brazenly objectifying her, and eventually to them just being together just… because? Truly a timeless love story. I like Gard’s face at the end here; it’s a subtly change but it’s funny.
JK: Sigh, love witchy shit. I don’t know. Jon’s flirting, I guess. Not doing a great job. Liz is you know turning him down. Which happens. And it’s like, OH Jon is not great at flirting. Which we know. At least he has a nice green shirt on. I guess. I don’t fucking know, man.
