Fan Post: An ode to those of us who remain

I will not even bother with the departures, they are even more depressing to be honest. These were dark years, if you guys have been part of the ride as long as I have, or even longer, then you will realize that this was even worse than 1996/99, and close enough to the 80’s before Berlusconi bought the club.

We are now entering a new era, where our new patron Yonhong Li and the dynamic duo of FassoBelli® are now in control, given the clear instruction to go for the throat and bring this titan back on its own two feet. And what a god damn statement they have made in less than 2 months.

As soon as they got in control, they ensnared Kessie. Soon after, Musacchio was confirmed. Then they began working on RR and confirmed him 1 week after confirming Kessie. Then we were all completely astounded as on a SUNDAY they confirmed Andre Silva for less than estimated and completely out of nowhere.

In the meantime, they were managing the Dollarumma incident masterfully, in which Raiola had to concede defeat in the end and fucking because he was completely outplayed, while keeping up negotiations for Conti and Biglia, they suddenly snapped Borini ,on loan with obligation, from the clutches of Lazio and in the same weekend hammered a deal for Hakan Calhanoglu, once again out of nowhere.

Things then slowed down, a bit more than a week after we had Conti, the Mercato seemed about over, and we were looking at Kalinic or Aubameyang. Suddenly, a rumor for Bonucci came out. And let’s be honest, all of us thought at the moment “Us? Buying Bonucci? That’s bullshit.”

2 days later Bonucci has actually joined us, and never have I seen our own Fossa brimming with so much activity since the days of The Offside.

The Old Guard, you know who you are. We have been here through thick and thin. We’ve endured depressing mercatos, depressing football, Pippoball, Mihajlovic’s attempt at whatever that was not 442.

For all of those who like me kept our chin up, suffering every morning, watching the A.C. Milan games even knowing that perhaps your whole day and/or weekend was about to get ruined, enduring this sick obsession. This is what it means to be a red and black rossonero.

Thursday was the biggest statement of intent I have seen from our ownership since the day we brought Zlatan back to Italy; we are announcing to the world, we are coming to take back what is rightfully ours. And it’s not a puny scudetto. It’s the good ‘ol big eared one. The one that our bianconeri rivals have lost 7 times in the final.
