@fives-ren @lepidopoda @loki-wants-an-army @leenathegreengirl (srry for tagging yall but this is just so yall see it)
(Also to answer yer question: maybe, but Iâm not focusing on that)
So.
I like to think it starts when he gets his first night of leave and sneaks into a drag bar (which thankfully is neutral to clones) with a group of clones to see a show because an older clone said it was fun. The queen that night was more of a comedy queen than anything else, and I like to think this completely altered his brain chemistry in like. A fun way.
IMO, fives is a naturally witty guy, so he starts practicing comedy: seeing what makes his brothers laugh, what makes Anakin & Ahsoka laugh, even what makes yularen crack a smile. He doesnât start doing drag until after echo blows up, but thatâs mainly because he doesnât have all of the items necessary to do it until then.
I like to think he mainly focuses on comedy and impressions (I donât think heâs bad at lipsyncing or dancing but. You donât really get the time to do that when yer deployed), and he has a KILLER Padme impression strung together from anakinâs stories about her & meeting her in small amounts.
(Anakin hasnât seen the impression, and would hate it if he did. Padme HAS seen the impression, and thinks itâs the funniest thing in the world)
I also think that he spends a lot of time in that one drag bar while on leave: the owners know heâs a clone, but honestly donât give a shit about that so long as he doesnât arrest people. I think that a few months after echo dies, he asks the owners if he could do a show, and theyâre like âsure dude but ya gotta pay to do it & weâll see if we can fit ya in,â so he spends the next few months deployed saving up credits and asking his brothers for credits (and inevitably racking up a debt to a LOT of brothers, but thatâs par for the course), and he comes back to the bar while on leave, pays to get scheduled, and ends up doing a show the night before heâs deployed again. It goesâŠsurprisingly well: telling stories about the war (how incompetent nat-borns can be, how the clones deal with too much, how the Jedi do all this crazy shit but he had to help Ahsoka get anakinâs hand out of a microwave that one time) is surprisingly effective in getting people to laugh.
(Side note, idk what his name would be. Iâve flaunted a few ideas (kaminhoe, Torrentina, etc) but idk which one is best. Iâm also not sure if the audience would pick up on him being a clone, or if he would even make that part of his persona. Idk)
Anyway itâs time for canon events (under the readmore)
So, the chip arc isâŠtraumatizing.
By this point, fives has done a few shows at that bar, and madeâŠsomething of a name as a performer.
(The local queens know him, at least)
Why is this important?
Because the chip arc plays as normal, right until Fox shoots fives.
In this universe, the blast ends up passing âharmlesslyâ through his gut on whichever side doesnât have the vital organs (I say harmlessly cuz itâs nothing bacta canât fix). However, a mixture of adrenaline, stress, and the drugs Nala se pumped into him causes fives to basically drop dead for like a few minutes: long enough that everyone thinks heâs dead, but short enough that when he wakes up on a ship about to leave for Kamino, he ends up escaping (with bacta to treat himself) and makes his way toâŠsomewhere.
His own general and captain donât believe him.
Heâs an enemy of the state thanks to Palpatine.
He goes to the drag bar and prays to the force that they donât turn him in (he doesnât know that heâs considered legally dead).
He ends up working something out with the owner: heâll earn his keep working at the bar, bussing tables & cleaning, and in return heâll have a place to stay since heâs not legally considered a person.
The arrangement goes well, and fives even starts performing again, but this time, the jokes have an almost bitter edge to them: itâs almost like youâre supposed to laugh at how stupid the characters in his stories are, instead of how insane the stories sound.
Most of the audience laughs.
The shadows that attend these shows for missions donât.
Ahsoka sure as hell doesnât.
So, fun fact: Ahsoka does NOT know that fives is a drag queen, or that he was âkilledâ a few weeks ago, so for all she knows, this random drag queen is making fun of her old friends and master.
I think she starts heckling him, and he jabs right back at her. It almost becomes a dance between them.
Do I think they both find out before Ahsoka goes back to lead the 332nd company? Idk, but the long and short of it is that heâs not going back.
And then order 66 happens. Fives is devastated. Sure he doesnât really like the Jedi or the GAR at the moment, but they didnât deserve to die like that. (That bitter part of him increases tenfold, since itâs proof that they didnât listen to him about order 66)
He, the drag bar owner, and a whole bunch of other drag queens end up fleeing from coruscant once the harsher bits of palpatineâs empire start crashing down on the populace. I think they flee to Alderaan probably, which coincidentally is whereâŠIâm just gonna call him âspace RuPaulâ lives, and yes, RPDR does exist in this universe, keep that in mind.
Fives finds that under the Organas, he can really flourish in the art of drag, and hey! When the people at space customs saw him, they told him he could get registered as a person! So now he can do fun people things, like have a social security number, and own property!
Anyway, over the next 5 years, he flourishes: he performs to bigger and bigger audiences, he gets a lot of brand deals, he gets âblessedâ by a nightsister to halt his physical aging until his chronological aging catches up, itâs all coming up roses for him.
His style is still comedy, but itâs more how it was at the beginning: telling fun stories about being in crazy situations.
He also ends up on Space RuPaulâs Drag Race too! Idk how far he gets, but he does get to do snatch game.
This entire spiel to say, I think itâd be really fuckin funny if Hera Syndulla meets up with Omega one day and shows her a clip of SRPDR where some drag queen that sounds a lot like a clone is doing an impression of the late Senator of Naboo that has Space RuPaul in stitches.
Yâall wanna hear âbout my AU where fives is a drag queen?
#then omega shows that clip to Rex & Rex is like âHES NOT DEAD?????â#star wars#clone trooper fives#arc trooper fives#drag queen au#anakin skywalker#ahsoka tano#captain rex#yularen

hi <33 i love your writing it makes me so happy and its the best part of my day toođ
if you want to, can you do a slashers reacting to their s/o doing the corset trend thats on tiktok?
if not thats fine!, i hope your doing well <33
Hi boo! Thank you, Iâm glad that youâre enjoying it. Iâm not on tiktok so I had to search it up. Iâm slow on the trends lol
Slashers react to their s/o doing the corset tiktok:
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm what are you doing?
Michael doesnât understand the whole âinternetâ trend thing and definitely doesnât know what tiktok really is.Â
He just thinks youâre doing random stuff on camera like always lol
Usually watches you sometimes if youâre making a video. It made you feel embarrassed at first (making vids in front of ppl is awkward as hell) but he watches you do anything anyway.Â
When he sees you with the corset, heâs curious. Never seen them before, just thought it was a weird shirt
Once he sees you do the tiktok, he pays attention to the fact that it tightens up a lot.Â
This maybe another way to torture or kill someone...how interesting.
Might want to keep an eye on your corset lol
As for the lyrics, it makes him confused. Who wants a waist over 9 inches? What does that even mean or look like?
Also, who cares? Thereâs better things to do than worry over that
She joins in on making the tiktok after seeing you practice for it.Â
Like she wouldnât have tons of black lace corsets in her closet, sheâs totally has the tools for this already. Sheâll give you a better looking corset so youâll be stylish
I could see her also knowing what the song is, having heard it a couple of times (probably downloaded it) before the trend started.Â
You two have fun making it-Â lipsyncing, dancing, even laughing a couple of times.
As for this whole thing, it was just something fun to do. She didnât think to far into it and the whole trend. Itâll come and go like all of them do
But, she really wants to continue making more videos with you, it was so much fun doing that
âWhy are you doing that tiktok? And why are you putting your face out there on the inter- nevermind. Just as long as you donât film me, do what you wish.â
Predictably, not amused at anything that has to do with âinternet trendsâ. Asa is like a young boomer. Knows what these trends are, but thinks most of them are stupid. Unless itâs somehow intellectual.Â
Pretty much a stuck up smart person lol which can get annoying
He sees the corset and pretends to ignore it, but heâs gonna watch you do it.
Watches with a straight face-but cringing internally at the lyrics. Also he thinks you look a little weird lip-synching (still pretty tho)Â
The only thing he likes about the corset is that it makes your hips and chest flare out a bit more. Otherwise, he really doesnât like it. He feels like you might start to worry too much about your body image if kept.
Your corset will be missing by morning. He will feign ignorance if you ask him if heâs seen it, but he knows where it is and how youâll never see it again. The trend was stupid to him anyway

haikyuu!! music idol au (seijoh and shiratorizawa vers.)
hello hello! now for the groups with seijoh and shiratorizawa! if you like this why not check out music idol au karasuno vers.
CROWN ENTERTAINMENT
okay so basically this is now the entertainment company for the groups FALCON and KING
HAHAHS THE NAMES I REALLY CAN'T GUYS I'M SORRY THE NEXT POST ABOUT NEKOMA AND FUKURODANI ARE GONNA BE MUCH WORSE
okay but yes
they're one of the biggest names in the country and their groups have been around for quite some time
washijo is CEO
they're known to be very hard to get into because all of their idols are trained to be polished at whatever they do
but all of their releases are top quality
so lets get into the groups !!
KING - seijoh
okay so KING has 8 members and most of their comeback concepts are pretty bubblegum pop and boy-next-door
our leader for this group is oikawa of course
he's also wanted to be an idol for so long and trained really hard for it
âą he managed to pass the auditions but his trainee years were hard on him because of all the expectations and work
luckily he befriended iwa who was also a struggling trainee
they spent years helping each other out and leaning on each other for support until their debut came
oikawa's the all-around vocalist, visual, and dancer so he's almost always in the center
the kind who nails all the notes while busting out the hardest dance moves
he's also multilingual because he wants to talk to a variety of his fans
everything he does seems so natural but in reality he practices so hard that iwa has to drag him to bed
iwa's our main rapper and main dancer of the group
his audition tape of him dancing was a bit embarassing because he was wearing a godzilla sweater and his hair was gelled up
everyone likes to bring it out from time to time
his fans also like sending him anything godzilla
his rapping is pOWERFUL and he can also beatbox really well
he also leads the dance breaks in performances
everyone thought he was scary until oikawa accidentally called him iwa-chan in a radio show and now everyone calls him iwa-chan
while oikawa is the leader, iwa is the one who manages everyone and makes sure no one gets lost when they go to awards shows
matsukawa and hanamaki were trainees that came in later and they became friends because they were roommates
hanamaki saw matsukawa taping printed out pictures of memes on the wall beside his bed and immediately knew they would be friends for life
and they were
they're notorious for sneaking food into their dorms and also picking on oikawa
they're kind of like an inseparable duo especially since hanamaki is on vocals and matsukawa is on rap
they have a lot of onstage moments and fans love how playful they are
they kind of improvise a bit sometimes when it comes to dance moves which makes washijo want to pull his hair out but fans like it so :/
they're the oldest members but they still call iwa and oikawa 'mom and dad'
they like doing weird shit to hanamaki's hair and taking videos of itÂ
the âwhatâs a contract? never heard of itâ duo basicallyÂ
yahaba's like the resident beautiful guy apart from oikawa
his voice is really melodious and he's often the one harmonizing with the high part
also sUCH a fLIRT
camera: *is directed at him*
yahaba: *blows a kiss*
matsuhana try to get him into their pranks on oikawa but he's too much of a goody two shoes
likes to film his skincare routine for the fans
secretly oikawaâs favorite junior
kyoutani auditioned for CROWN because he thought they were forming a hip-hop group or something edgy but no he was put into KING and he has to be around softies
he was desperate to get kicked out at first until iwa convinced him that he could still keep his look
they gave up on making him smile or look bright on cameras and said that if he's going to glare at least make it sexy
only listens to iwa and always stands next to iwa during award showsÂ
kindaichi and kunimi are their most treasured juniors and they'll do anything to protect them
both of them are vocalists and even though they don't often sing the melodies or hit the high notes, they're great harmonizing
actually knew of kageyama back in their auditioning days and were lowkey jealous of him
kindaichi is the sweetest junior he's always the one giving the members water and making sure they're alright
kunimi just silently observes the entire time and barely says anything but he'll often approach iwa for pointers when it comes to dancing
they were super young when they debuted and attended high school together in between practice
their seniors surprised them by coming to their graduation and even performing at the ceremony
both of them aren't as good as their fellow members yet but kindaichi works hard to be able to earn a few more lines in their songs
kunimi doesn't show much effort but he secretly likes to learn songwriting and music production because his dream is for KING to perform one of his songs
FALCON - shiratorizawa
another group that debuted about a year or two before KING
it is a POWERHOUSE of talent
also pretty much the OG group for most fans that inspired other upcoming groups
a lot of their concepts are centered around a mature gentleman image
idk what im saying but i'd compare them to super junior pretty much
they also do a lot of edgy concepts
ushijima's the leader of the group plus main rapper
he was actually inspired to become a rapper after watching another idol's performance
tbh he never expected to debut with a group but he had grown attached to some of his fellow trainees
he's also really talented at writing and producing songs
super stoic, even in front of the camera, but fans love his attempts at humor
tendou's like their main dancer and rapper
when he was younger people said his dancing looked weird because tendou could do those really cool, almost jerky movements
when washijo saw his audition tape he was like 'hmm we could use that'
thats because FALCON is super big on choreography, especially the ones that look like all the members are creating this huge other thing just by using movement
tendou pretty much leads the dance breaks all the time and he looks super serious and intense
he likes saying the most random, funny things during interviews
sometimes you'll catch him dancing by himself when theyâre just waiting for results in award shows
so many conspiracy videos as to whether or not tendou has joints
now we have our shirabu kenjiro
this boy is like a prodigy he was destined to be recruited by CROWN and to end up in FALCON
the more i spell out these names the more i see how absurd they all look i'm sorry
tendou likes to call him his 'beloved junior'
he's as serious as ushiwaka is but with sASS
is known for sassing out interviewers and show hosts when he can tell that they're making up bullshit and now everyone's scared of him
he's main vocals and visuals
his voice is like a really nice baritone and he's very powerful with his singing that people don't question whether or not he lipsyncs
actually gets the most lines in their group
he likes to challenge the limits of his contract and even cut his own bangs and that's why they're Like That
he ended up getting chewed out by washijo for it
ya boi semisemi is out here being a dAncE gOD
he can learn choreography really quickly and in variety shows the hosts always challenge him to learn another group's choreo by looking at it once
so far he has not lost
everyone in his team cheers him on
also basically the group's main choreographer. he'll lowkey get mad at someone who forgot the choreo but teach them anyway
interacting with fans makes him so happy and soft he treasures every letter he receives and likes giving out gifts during fanmeets
he keeps his room really neat and likes to display the presents he receives from fans
also main vocalist in the group but just gets a line or two
his real skill though are opening dance performances during music award shows
he, tendou, and goshiki slay every opening performance and its amazing
reon is the last main rapper of the group and basically The Mom of the group
he's the one calming everyone down and checking up with people before they perform
his rapping sounds really smooth and very close to how he speaks normally so he shines most in the b-side tracks of their album
he had a lot of struggles passing auditions because most companies would discriminate because of appearance but washijo saw a lot of potential in him
he likes to speak out about the discrimination in terms of appearance in the music industry
everyone in FALCON supports him
lastly we have goshiki the precious little maknae of the group
everyone dotes on him because he was a skinny child when he debuted with the group
goshiki's like the legendary maknae who could do pretty much anything
he's main vocalist, dancer, and visuals
when he started out he was always super active and full of initative as a trainee
he trained super hard just to debut with FALCON because he looks up to ushijima
like shirabu, he gets a ton of lines and sings a lot during the chorus
when he graduated everyone from FALCON attended and he treated them all too lunch
after every comeback tendou's jus like 'our little baby goshiki is growing up'
i basically wrote him as jungkook from bts didn't i?
additional hcâs for funsies
oikawa was actually supposed to debut much earlier with FALCON but he had grown attached to his fellow trainees (iwa and matsuhana) and wanted to be in a group with them
FALCON and KING have a small rivalry ongoing to see who can get the most views in one day during every comeback video that the members do all these crazy things to get their fans to stream their comebacks
one of them was matsuhana promising to release a rare picture of kyoutani smilingÂ
FALCON has Boardgame Fridays where they just play boardgames all night and itâs super fun and precious because goshiki gets super competitive
also all of his seniors tried to get him drunk after his graduation and goshiki did in fact get drunk and ended up spilling some secrets about how shirabu cuts his bangs on instagram live
FALCON and KING love having dance-off sessions with each other and the music they always choose is âCrazy in Loveâ from the White Chicks movie
the reon and semi have a mukbang series on instagram live and sometimes yahaba and kindaichi join in
ushijima allegedly wrote and produced a song about the joy of farming but washijo rejected it from appearing on the album because it was weird but thanks to tendou spilling about it, fans demanded to hear the song and ushijima performed it in one of their concerts
kunimi also wrote a song about that was supposedly about a loving a bad boy despite being a nice girl and when people asked what his inspiration was he just said âkyouhabaâÂ
haikyuu!! music idol au series: karasuno vers., seijoh and shiratorizawa vers., nekoma and fukurodani vers.

top 5 magnus relationships (romantic or familial or friendships whatever!!)
jdhfjkdhfbjdkhbskdhbgjsdkg shara i love you for this askÂ
by the way these are in no particular order theyâre just as my brain goes
1. malec!!!!!!!!!! duh!!!!!!!!!! okay so they are basically soulmates and they love each other so much and theyâre each otherâs family theyâd never thought theyâd have??????? like magnus didnât think marriage was an option for him because of immortality and because no one stayed and even those he loved the most left him eventually because he was too much and not enough all at once. and alec always thought if he did get married it would be to a woman and heâd be doomed to forever be in a loveless marriage and die young because thatâs the shadowhunter way. so for them both to find each other and find the kind of love they never anticipated and especially for magnus, never having loved and been loved this way with anyone before and so heâd never been married??? until alec????? poetic cinema
2. magnus and raphael!!!!! iâd like to think that of all his downworld children, magnus has a soft spot for raphael especially. like magnus rescued raphael and saved him, helped him adapt to being turned, control his thirst, come to terms with his faith and how to continue practicing even though he couldnât go to church anymore, coping with having to leave his family behind. and raphael in turn learned about magnusâ trauma and suffering at the hands of camille and asmodeus, about how his sire was truly evil and horrible and raphael will avenge magnus and vows to take camille down someway somehow (camille is raphaelâs sire right?????) maybe i have a fic exploring this in the works. and in the not so angsty part of things!!! magnus and raphael cooking together!! my personal fave headcanon that they both queued up to watch the original star wars films for hours and are og princess leia fangirls!!!!!!! the two of them talking shit about others at downworld parties with the rest of the immortal squad!! RAPHAEL AND MAGNUS CUDDLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also all the jokes magnus would torment raphael with about alec technically being his stepfather akfdkahbkdafgb
3. magnus and catarina!!!!!!!!! i love this dynamic duo so much i feel like theyâve got this best friend/sibling dynamic and theyâve helped each other through a lot of shit and also two academic legends!!!!! they both motivate each other to pursue learning new languages and degrees and inventing new spells and potions!!! they collaborate to make something and BAM brand new shadow world medical miracle! i feel like they also are the type to prank others, especially ragnor, relentlessly and they give off this air of sophistication and regality and elegance and yes theyâre all that but theyâre also little shits who will prank you and talk shit about stuffy clave officials and irritating assholes like lorenzo. also they get dressed up together for events and swap outfits and accessories all the time, magic helping to adjust the measurements accordingly. magnus was also the first person cat turned to when she wanted comfort/reassurance/encouragement to adopt madzie and he definitely cried when he saw the signed adoption papers (because thereâs gotta be some formal adoption thing for warlocks since theyâre usually abandoned by their parents when their marks manifest)
4. magnus and ragnor!!!!! so a lot of people see ragnor as magnusâ dad which im not saying is bad, but i prefer that ragnor is like magnusâ favourite older cousin, the kind of cousin whoâll give you advice and get you out of a jam but also get up to shenanigans with you, you know? like yes ragnor probably taught magnus alot (especially if you believe that they met shortly after magnus first banished asmodeus) and helped him get back on his feet. when they donât live in the same city they probably have like weekly weekend tea sessions with the rest of the immortal squad for gossip, and whenever either of them are working on a new project, theyâll portal over to each other and discuss magical theory and the like! also ragnor would definitely be the one to embarass magnus in front of alec with stories of his antics over the centuries and magnus retaliates with stories of his own, whilst alec just fonds over magnus because he is whipped for his husband. iâd also like to think that ragnor is the one who helped magnus choose his name and he wouldnât admit it but whenever ragnor gifts magnus something (like jewellery) itâs always got protection spells cast on it to keep magnus safeÂ
5. magnus and freddie mercury!!!!! (disclaimer: i mean absolutely no disrespect to freddie mercury or his legacy! this is just some harmless fun and headcanon based on what little the writers have told us about magnusâ history and his implied relationship with freddie mercury) this one is a mix of pure speculation and a shit ton of discussion and headcanons with @tothetrashwhereibelong. so magnus and freddie were probably not deeply in love like romantically, but they probably were very close companions and had a friends with benefits relationship, which probably continued until freddie met jim hutton. iâd like to think that magnus told freddie about being a warlock and that even after they werenât friends with benefits anymore they were still very close, iâd like to think that freddie wrote some songs about magnus (good old fashioned lover boy anyone?) and that they loved each other as friends very much. also that magnus was one of the first people freddie told that he wasnât going to get treated and would just live as long as he could. and that magnus probably mourned and grieved him as much as anyone else in freddieâs inner circle. less sad headcanon: magnus loves to lipsync and dance around to queen songs at home! ridiculous hairbrush microphone and elaborate outfits and all! it helps him feel connected to one of his dearest friends and sometimes if he closes his eyes and really loses himself in the music and dance and energy, he swears he can hear a âmagnus, darling, youâre fabulousâ called out to him in an achingly familiar voice, accompanied by a laugh he hasnât heard in a long time.Â

Sensory Overload (Branjie) - SnowBun
A/N: Well⊠this took about a week to write, and a lot of feigning ignorance about finals. But, WHO CARES? This was so draining to write, but it was tons of fun to do. Hope you guys enjoy! xoxo
His eyes glaze over as he drinks in the faded orange of the Los Angeles skyline. He feels the warm summer air against the bare skin of his arms, and even if he never really left, everything somehow looks different. It looks so much bigger, so much more free than he remembers.
He doesnât remember much from the first two days home from the show. All he can recall is that heâd curled up and cried about not making it to the finale the first night, and that heâd slept the whole day for the second.
By the third, heâs awake enough to realize that the exhaustion has seeped into his muscles. He can still feel his back aching from every comment Michelle threw at her, every attempt to do better only to fall flat on her face weighing it down for weeks.
For now, no one knows, and she returns to being the gay communityâs favorite meme.
He doubts heâll be able to shake off the memories clinging to his clothes like the smoke of menthol cigarettes, however long itâs been since filming ended.
Menthol cigarettes.
He remembers the way her lips, painted a bright shade of pink like the filling of Pop Tarts that she used to eat as a kid, wrap around the end of what sheâd once jokingly called âa white death stick.â Brooke had laughed and confided that sheâd tried to quit many times before.
In the heat of the competition, he knew better than to push the topic.
Looking across the horizon again, he remembers how the same orange hue would paint the gravel of parking lots on smoke breaks. It brings him back to toned arms snaking their way around her corset-trained waist.
âFuck it.â
Heâs reckless, and he knows it. He knows that heâs getting into a sports car, and slamming his foot on the damned pedal like heâs inviting the fucking car crash to come at him. He misses him enough to not really care.
He types out the message on his phone, tentative fingers making up empty words that he fills with all the hope he has. Sure, theyâd agreed to give whatever was going on between them a shot, but outside the four pink walls of the werkroom, it all seems like a fever dream.
Without even going over the message, he presses send and immediately texts Silky to invite her out for a drink or ten before rushing right out the door.
When he returns home to Nashville, the first thing he does is cuddle Henry and Riley. He showers their tiny furry faces with kisses, and completely forgets his suitcases by the door. His heart swells at their affectionate meows before they rest lazily at his feet.
He doesnât even bother to change out of his sweatshirt and shorts when he sprawls his long limbs out on the couch, his feet hanging off one of the armrests. He relaxes for once after numerous sleepless nights spent practicing a magic show or finishing dresses made of denim and dried oranges.
He blinks and all of a sudden, the light streaming in through the window is gone. As Henry curls up on his chest, he realizes that heâd drifted off to a deep, comfortable sleep. He scratches at the dark grey fur, and reaches for his phone on the coffee table.
A quick sense of dread flashes over him before he opens it. He expects a hundred different emails about future gigs, but he knows that any mention of work will only remind him even more about how tired he is.
What he doesnât expect to see is Vanessaâs name at the top of all the notifications.
The smell of strong, musky cologne and artificial vanilla from liquid lipsticks cloud his senses. His brain is suddenly addled by the fusion of reality with the almost fantastical world that heâd just left behind.
He opens the chat, and quickly glances at their brief exchange from ages ago. Heâd messaged her after sheâd been eliminated on season 10, and he almost feels a sense of pride at knowing he was right in saying that she would move on to bigger things.
V: Hey, you back yet lol
He smiles to himself, in spite of how dazed he is.
B: Yeah, why?
It only takes a moment before three gray dots start flashing. He canât say heâs not amazed that he wants to talk to him, not after how the show had ended. Theyâd said it wasnât personal, but he still feels bad about pulling her away from her dream.
V: Nothing, just checking on you lol
It doesnât take long before his phone starts to ring with Vanessa Vanjie Mateoâs name drawn out in big white letters right on the screen.
âHey.â
He knows itâs ridiculous for him to miss his voice, he really does. What had happened between them was supposed to be light and easy; but when he feels the pang in his chest when he picks up the phone, he knows he wants more.
âHey yourself.â
âHow you been?â
âI just got back earlier. You?â
âBitch, Iâm tired as shit.â
Tired tastes like cocktail kisses in Untucked. Tired sounds like the rumbling of the van engine after a long day of filming. Tired looks like gold glitter shimmering on tan skin. Tired feels like a warm embrace when everything feels like too much. Tired smells like coconut shampoo.
He knows that heâs not tired because he wants to be.
âI miss you.â
The words are a shot in the dark, and all he can hear is the quiet chatter of the TV on the other end. He wonders what he looks like, what heâs wearing, what heâs doing. He doesnât have to wonder how heâs feeling. His heartâs always on display.
âI miss you too.â
Thereâs a silence that washes over them, but neither of them hangs up. He knows his phone bill is probably going to be fucked if this keeps happening, but he doesnât care. He thinks that he hears Julia Robertsâ voice come from the TV, and he canât help himself from smiling.
âIâll be in Chicago a couple of days,â He feels for the words in his mouth, trying his best not to think too much. âWant to meet me?â
âAs long as youâre paying the hotel, bitch.â
The next two months pass by in a hazy, busy bliss. Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville and just about every city where they hole up in hotel rooms all day turn into pictures that they post on Instagram because right now, they have the luxury of not giving a fuck.
Jose waved off any bad flood from their lipsync and Vanjieâs subsequent elimination. He could practically hear the thoughts running through Brockâs head, and quickly kissed them away, stating that âit was just drag.â
It still doesnât stop Brock from holding him closer and pressing featherlight kisses to his temple on nights when he fears the statementâs half-hearted.
The reality that theyâve built for themselves is safe. Heâs so utterly content that he thinks his heart might explode in his chest, and bitch, Allie and Noah better watch out.
He nuzzles his face into Brockâs neck as he basks in the afterglow. His hand splays out on the planes of his toned stomach, fingertips lightly tickling the skin there, and he hears a contented sigh.
âBoo.â
âMmm.â
He nips at his skin, fully intending to leave a mark. Anything that would scream that in some far-flung country, state or city, there was a man that wanted to see flowers bloom on skin because he wanted him, craved him, longed for him.
âWhat are you doing?â
âNothing.â
His body shakes in his arms as he chuckles. He takes a deep breath, and he knows that heâs never going to forget this. The zing of deodorant. The sex in the air. The smell that is just so completely Brock that he wants it to fill his lungs and destroy them the way he knew cigarettes destroyed his.
Brock slaps his ass, and he groans at the loss of contact when he rolls out of bed. âIâm going to get a snack, you want anything?â
He props himself up on his elbow, and raises his eyebrows at her. âYou got the munchies?â
Thereâs a wordless shrug, and he leaves the room. He lays in silence for a moment, cocooning himself in the sheets the way he imagines Asiaâs cursed little butterflies did. Itâs warm and perfect and just oh so safe.
When Brock returns with leftover chicken and two sets of utensils, even though heâd never answered him when he asked if he wanted anything, he feels it like a punch to the gut that knocks the wind straight out of him.
Heâs truly, totally, utterly fucked.
Neither of them is quite sure how they did it, but theyâd successfully spent the whole month apart. Brock feels like heâs 16, pining over a boy and letting his heart leap out of his chest at the sound of Joseâs voice on every Facetime call.
They go to a bar to meet Detox the night he arrives in LA. Her eyes dart from queen to queen when Jose presses a kiss to his lips before excusing himself to go to the restroom. The look on her face is so quizzical that he has to laugh.
âSooo,â Detox draws out the word, swirling the bright pink straw in her drink. âYou won more than just challenges I guess.â
He laughs, and blushes as heâs teased until Jose returns to practically sit on his lap for the rest of the night.
By midnight, the two of them are standing at the curb outside. He feels a forehead press against his back with arms wrapped around his waist as he tries to book an Uber. He brings a knuckle up to his lips, and feels the hold on him tighten.
âItâs almost here, boo.â
Thereâs a sigh when he pulls away from him, and a silver car pulls up in front of them shortly. They climb into the back, and he shoots a glare at Jose when he cackles at how his legs fold in the small backseat.
The ride is initially silent, apart from the Christian music playing on the radio. Thereâs a hand spread out on his thigh, and he turns to him with raised eyebrows. Heâs still looking out the window, but the teasing smile on his face gives him away.
The driver starts to hum along to the music, and the hand drifts to the front of his pants, right out of the driverâs purview. He lets out an almost inhuman squeak, and fuck, his brain has stopped working.
The palm starts to work gently, applying extra pressure, and he has to bite back a moan. The world has started to turn dark with lust, and he knows that the ten-minute ride to the apartment is going to feel like hours.
They pass a gay club that he knows Vanjie frequently performs at, and hears the driver grumble about queens being too loud, but his brain is too far gone to really process the words properly.
âIâm never quiet, am I?â Thereâs a low whisper against the curve of his ear, and he feels a shiver run through his body. He plays back the sound of his scream as he pushes him off the precipice of ecstasy, and he almost faints.
The driver turns the corner on to the street of the apartment, and the palm works harder. He tries to focus on the song playing, something about a king, as they get closer. The hand stills on his half-hard dick, and he sighs in relief as the car stops.
He doesnât remember rushing up to the apartment, but he knows he gets there in record time. He backs him up against the door, and kisses him like itâs too much. He is too much, and he wants all of it.
When his jacket falls to the ground, he feels his skin burn as hands claw at him. He whispers his name against his lips, over and over again, trying to say all the words he knows he cannot say because his brain is a clusterfuck.
He holds his breath as the other man falls to his knees, fully intending to worship everything that he is. Thereâs only one thought that he can muster before everything gets reduced into sound and feeling.
Heâs completely fucked.
âThis is my boyfriend, Jose.â
It feels good.
No, it feels right.
The smile on Brockâs face is so full of pride. It is the universe deciding to invent itself at some point, or no point, in time. It is everything that is real, but should not be because nothing should be so perfect.
He repeats the words to his mother, his sister, his drag mother, everyone he cares about. This is the birthday gift he never knew he wanted, all tied up with string. He thinks itâs almost as good as winning the crown.
Almost.
âShit, I think your mom tried to kill me.â
He feels like heâs eaten his body weight in food when he crashes onto the couch, and hears Brock laugh as he pours out two glasses of wine for them in the kitchen. With each little movement, he whines at the slight discomfort.
âThat just means she likes you.â He looks to the kitchen, and sees Brockâs head buried in the fridge, trying to find the Chalet sauce that heâd purposely saved from lunch earlier in the day.
âBitch, how can you still eat?â
âItâs Swiss Chalet.â He answers matter-of-factly, and drinks the sauce.
He watches him saunter over to the couch, and set the wine in front of them. He turns the TV on, returning to the part of The Notebook where theyâd stopped earlier in the day because heâd complained that âtear markings ainât a good look when meeting someoneâs mom.â
They end up cuddling on the couch as they watch the movie, his legs thrown over Brockâs lap and their fingers intertwined. The credits start to play, but they donât move. No, itâs too peaceful for either of them to try.
âI love you.â
The words are muffled into his hair, but heâs never heard anything so clearly in his life. In hindsight, it doesnât really change anything. He knows that the words started to blossom like wildflowers without either of them being aware of it.
But he sees the bright colors of the petals in Brockâs hands, holding them so gently as to not crush them. He hands him the words, and he can feel how delicate they are, how easy it is to let them fly in the cold air of Toronto.
âI love you too.â
He hears the chime signaling midnight come from Brockâs phone, and feels a kiss at the top of his head.
âHappy birthday, boo.â

âI think we need to take a break.â
The words are a joke, and he knows it. Itâs easy to break glass bottles and KitKats and highlighters that cost a hundred dollars, but breaking what they have? He thinks it may need years and years to tear it all down. Words donât seem to suffice.
Thereâs a quiver to the bottom of his boyfriendâs lip, and he instantly regrets what heâs done, even though heâs convinced himself a million times that this is what would be best for them. For him.
Heâs not sure heâll be able to survive it.
The expression on his face cycles between a handful of emotions. Anger, sorrow, confusion, and a mix of all three in different parts. His heart is still out on his sleeve, and heâs slicing it open and pouring salt on the wound.
âWhy?â
The answer to his question is gone. He doesnât know why. He only knows that before that moment, there was a reason so important that he took a flight just to say it. He deserves better than a sorry excuse on a Facetime call.
His voice is stuck in his throat, and he can barely breathe, and the words are all tangled up in his brain like the yarn he tossed at his cats before he left for LA, andâJesus, he didnât think it would hurt this bad.
âIâm just not sure I can handle this right now.â
His answer is honest, but not completely. He doesnât tell him that he canât handle his own thoughts. He doesnât tell him he canât handle one night when he wants so much more. He doesnât tell him he canât handle feeling something so strongly that it threatens to destroy him.
The humorless laugh that comes from his mouth is cruel, and he knows he deserves it. He deserves the pain that comes with giving up. He deserves to watch the flowers theyâve planted wither away in the cold of winter.
He wants him to say something, anything else that will hurt. Anything that will convince him that this isnât a mistake; but he knows that he wonât. He knows that heâs too good for him, too amazingly kind for him, and he will never kill that longing for him because itâs what he deserves.
âAlright bitch,â The tone of his voice has no malice, and his heart breaks in half. âIf thatâs what you want.â
He nods, even if it isnât.
The second night of promo week is full of screaming and laughter. Some of the girls like Nina and Soju have changed out of drag, but she canât be bothered. Sheâs spent too much money on her outfit that she ignores the discomfort of the pink feathers tickling at her neck.
âYeeess!â
The girls are yelling as Silky and her take shots of tequila. She feels it burn as it travels down her throat, into her stomach, and settling in the open wounds she hasnât quite allowed to heal yet.
Everyone starts to diffuse about the hotel bar into their own little groups, but she doesnât move. She wants to convince herself that she doesnât want to go around because of the fact that her heels are squishing her toes together, but sheâs never been very good at acting.
The world hasnât ended. Not really. The earth has continued turning on its axis, and rotating about the sun. It doesnât give a fuck about the broken heart in her chest that canât quite understand how to heal.
New York is the epitome of it all. It feels like a large, open space that has a place for just about everyone; but she doesnât feel like she belongs anywhere. At least not tonight.
âHey.â
Thereâs a smile on Brookeâs face as if thereâs nothing wrong, but it doesnât quite reach her eyes. She looks absolutely gorgeous, and she wants to fucking yell at her for it. Or maybe she just wants to fuck her. Either works, really.
âHey yourself.â
Brooke orders them two more shots of tequila, and she cocks an eyebrow at her.
âYou trying to get me drunk, Miss Brooke Lynn?â She throws the hair of her pink wig over one shoulder. This isnât what she was expecting. She thought theyâd spend the next week only talking for interviews, and ignoring each other beyond that.
But she doesnât complain.
âI,â Brooke raises her glass, and she sees the color of diluted amber swish in it. âJust wanna hang out with a friend.â
The word friend burns more than the tequila does, but hell, if it isnât the best that sheâs felt in two weeks.
âSo, you been getting your bookings?â She tries her best to make small-talk, even if sheâs always been way too loud for that kind of thing.
âYeah,â She leans against the bar, and she notices that she looks drained. No amount of makeup can hide the lack of a smile that sheâs become accustomed to. âIâve been here and there lately. I just wanna go home to the cats, though.â
âOooh, bitch,â She throws her hands up. âYou really love them pussies, donât you?â
Brookeâs laugh is priceless, and when she hears it, she feels like they might be alright. This isnât what sheâd expected or wanted, but itâs a start. The realization is enough, for now.
Theyâre okay.
âHey, where you at?â
The volume on his phone is low, but it sounds like sheâs on speaker. Even over the thumping bass of the club, Vanjieâs voice rings true andâwell, the word isnât clear exactly. Itâs just loud.
âWeâre outside already, hold on.â
âYâall better hurry over here, or Iâm whoppinâ your asses!â
She hangs up on him, and he turns to Nina, as if to ask if he looks alright. She gives him a thumbs up, and he feels a flash of gratitude. Of all the queens he wants to be with him tonight, itâs Nina.
Theyâve been texting and Facetiming for the past month. On his birthday, heâd called him after three shots, saying happy birthday in the back of a bar somewhere across the country. His voice was soft and sweet, and he made his birthday wish to have him in his arms the next morning.
As they make a beeline for the back, he canât hear anything but the pounding of his heart in his ears. Everything fades away when the door opens, and he sees her standing in her glittering upside-down jersey and short pink wig.
He thinks sheâs never looked better.
âHeeey!â
When her arms wrap around his neck, he thinks he might burst into tears. Sheâs so close, and he feels how warm she is, smells her signature cologne, hears her whisper that sheâs happy to see him. Itâs sensory overload.
Too quickly, she lets go and moves on to Nina. She begins to copy Vanjieâs voice, and the room fills with laughter. His sides start to hurt, and it feels so damn good to laugh like this again.
Vanjieâs in the middle of telling her manager something when Nina starts a conversation with him without words. She widens her eyes at him, and he lets out a shaky breath. It takes a moment, but he relents with a nod.
âHey Vanjie,â She whips her head to look at him, expression so soft and kind that he almost loses the courage to speak. âCan we talk? Like alone?â
âUhm,â She looks around the room, and apologetically throws a look at her manager. âCan we get a minute?
Nina ushers Vanjieâs manager and the barâs owner outside, and before she leaves, she flashes him a smile for luck. The door clicks shut, and the room is filled with the vibration of the music and the air conditioner, but in the silence, he isnât sure what to say.
Sheâs standing at least eight feet away, but he feels like itâs farther than LA to Nashville. He wants to pull her close, wants her to understand. He has to breathe deeply to keep himself from passing out.
âSo,â She clicks her tongue as she runs a hand through her wig. âWhat did you wanna talk about?â
âIâm sorry.â
The words tumble straight out of his mouth. The look on her face is puzzled, so he musters up the courage to continue what heâs started, even if it means tearing down the walls that keep him safe.
âI donât want to be away from you.â He says, tears threatening to spill out his eyes. âI was so scared of wanting something so bad that I started to overthink, and I just want you to know that I love you andââ
She pulls him down to cut off his rambling. He thinks she tastes like alcohol, vodka perhaps, and itâs all so fitting because heâs drunk on her again. She tangles her way into every fiber of his being, and the world turns into shades of wine-red and pink.
He doesnât believe that the universe falls into a place when he kisses Jose, but the feeling of his lips shows him what it feels like. It isnât quite the stars aligning, but itâs good enough for him.
âIâm sorry.â
He whispers the words against her lips, and she shushes him. He knows that thereâs probably lipstick on his face, but he doesnât care. He kisses her again, softer this time, savoring the way she feels.
âHey, baby?â
âYeah?â
âThey got a camera up in here.â
He looks up to the corner of the room, and proudly kisses his boyfriend with fervor.
âLet them see.â

CALLBACK AUDITION PART I : PERFORMANCE
MGA5 contestant Sohn Youngjae Performing iKON -Â ìŁœêČ ë€ ( 00:00 - 01:54 ) Outfit
â And suddenly you know itâs time to start something new â
The worst possible outcome would be that he didnât even make it back to the MGAs this year. Eric had always been a young man of great confidence, but even someone like him might take a dent from rejection after rejection and failure following more failure. Had he been denied from the very get-go he might honestly have felt his world collide yet again as he was still getting back on top after his argument with his brother. There was no bad blood left between them anymore, but Eric was still jealous of the otherâs trainee position and that only meant that he had to work doubly hard to make up for lost time.
But he also knew that he couldnât just do whatever he pleased anymore. So far he had gone through life with the mindset that as long as he did what he wanted to the world was going to bend down to his feet and accept it, but that had not exactly brought him very far. It was time to step back, take a look at his experiences and evaluate what could possibly have left him with rejection thus far. His age was something he supposed, but that was not exactly something he could do anything about. Yet again he found himself amongst many adults when he went to the designated venue for the audition. There was a fear that they were going to cut him off because he was too young and inexperienced again, but the only thing Eric could do about that was to believe in himself and not let his worries show. Prove them that even someone so young could make a name for himself.
What he actually could do something about was his performance choice. In the last season he had simply stuck to one side of his abilities for that was what he knew best. Even for the triple threat challenge he had stuck to female artists. He thought it was enough to expand his repetoire with hip hop, but alas. Eric liked to tell himself that it was because his heart hadnât been in it enough, but as expected the sourness of the aftermath still remained within him and he greatly regretted the outcome and not trying his best. At the time he had thought only TRC had been accepting auditions. He was a fool.
This time he wasnât going to make any mistakes. If anyone saw him as a cute boy who was jumping around a bit to girl group songs he was about to wreck that image completely. Heavy eye makeup in dark colours already hinted the theme of his song choice, and if that wasnât good enough, the harness he had acquired for the occasion would also give the image of a dark and more mature concept than he had ever shown before. If any of the judges actually took his previous performances into consideration or even remembered him, this moment was to blow them away. Hopefully at least. Heâd do his absolute best and if this wasnât enough, what even would be?
To his surprise Eric spotted many a familiar face at the venue -- Moonbokâs long hair was impossible not to take notice of, and wasnât that Jisung over there? These bastards hadnât even told him that they were auditioning, but then again Eric himself supposed that he hadnât told anyone either. Not because he had any fear of the outcome but because it was more fun to keep it as a surprise. But he was still upset! He himself was excused; they werenât. That was just how it worked!
Unfortunately they were rushed in before Eric could really get a chance to talk to any of them, but he figured heâd just hit them up later. Easily forgotten were his hyungs as the excitement built up within him the closer he got to the stage, and the moment he stepped out he could hear gasps and murmur around him: the cause clear the moment he locked eyes with the five CEOs of Koreaâs biggest entertainment industries. Honestly he wasnât too surprised -- he himself couldnât remember how early they got involved last year, but shouldnât it have been obvious that they would appear sooner rather than later? Well, he supposed that some people might feel extra pressure performing before them, but in the end it was no different in concept -- it was still doing a performance, get judged for it and evaluated. Pretty simple if you asked him.
Getting seated it didnât last long before the first contestant was called to stage and the young teen could immediately feel the rush of anticipation as it all began. There was just something about watching people do their best up close that was incredibly exciting and that he could never get enough of. And he couldnât wait for his own turn. Everyoneâs eyes on him as he took the stage for two minutes and made it his own. But for now it was time to let others shine, and certainly they did.
Seeing another kid he knew the face of slide across the stage on skates had Eric almost cheer his lungs out in pure amazement. The return was not quite as elegant however, and Eric gave a loud gasp followed by a brief laughter as Haruto fell off stage. He then turned to tug the sleeve of the person seated next to him once the younger hopeful person had made his way back to his seat. âThat was so cool, wasnât it?!â he beamed at the older male even though he had never met him before and had no idea what his name was. As the other was called in later he would come to know him as âSuwoongâ.
With every performance Eric clapped and cooed enthusiastically as if he simply couldnât cease to be amazed, and finally his own name was called. Going to the middle of the stage, he gave a nod to all five individual judges before speaking. Always make sure to greet his seniors he thought. âMy name is Sohn Youngjae, and you might remember me from my brief appearance on last season. If you donât though, Iâm gonna make sure you definitely will this time!â It might be a pretentious claim, but Eric was dead serious and he was definitely not going to hold anything back. Once the tyre screeches of his backing track sounded Eric began his performance.
Itâs killing me, once again Your traces remain And they torture me Itâs killing me I turned around like youâre a stranger But why am I so lonely?
The song was so far from anything he would usually listen to and like. He barely ever listened to boy groups, and when he did, it was songs with a much softer and brighter concept. Something like this was so far away from his repertoire as anything could be, but that didnât matter. He would take even this song that was so foreign to him and make it his own.
I thought Iâd be indifferent about breaking up But thereâs one habit of yours that I have Not being able to throw things away Foolishly, these feelings remain Something that feels like regret Opposite from you who is doing great Iâm half dead
I didnât know the weight of this break up I was selfish, I ignored your tears
Barely even knowing what love was, Eric was only just recently starting to realise what it meant to have a crush on someone. What it meant to have feelings for someone. And the difference between a celebrity crush and an actual tangible crush. Something like a breakup was still so far away and so foreign a concept that he couldnât really conceive the feelings behind it, but all he could do was act his way out of it through his use of tone. It had been an absolute pain recording the song beforehand with his voice as the backing just in case he had to lipsync or even just for basic support considering he had to both sing and dance. He wasnât a professional, he needed to take everything into consideration to keep himself stable.
Itâs killing me, once again Your traces remain And they torture me Itâs killing me I turned around like youâre a stranger But why am I so lonely? Killing me
As the dance break after the chorus came up, for some reason a single girl popped into his mind. Come to think of it, not even Lily knew that he was going to be here today, did she? He couldnât wait to see her reaction to his performance once it aired in television (if it even would, he had no idea how much of this would even air when it came down to it) and for a moment an involuntary smile appeared on his face that was quickly replaced with the stern expression that he had tried to maintain for the sake of capturing the mood of the song. As he thought of her, he suddenly started to imagine how it would feel if these lyrics had been about her, and somehow the thought didnât sit quite well with him. It bothered him and he couldnât quite understand why it did so. He tried to shrug it off as the chorus came to a close and the next part came up, for this was something he needed his full focus for.
Freedom and new relationships But behind that is an empty heart On this dark night, Iâm alone again This isnât right Her existence is such a big part of my world I try but I canât take her out of it Once I did take her off, I broke down But I canât tell myself to be ready to die So itâs killing me
Eric could easily have skipped the rap part. He wasnât by any means a strong rapper although he had practiced a lot and definitely got better. Honestly speaking it would probably have been more profitable for him if he didnât include it, but he wanted to challenge himself and show a different image from thus far. The fact that it was a more melodic rap than anything else had made it easier, but flow was still a very important thing, and it was hard to keep his mind on that at the same time as his dancing. Even more so was it difficult when he was so used to dancing with a more feminine touch to suddenly switch to masculine movements, but he had a long time to prepare considering he already had an idea how things were going to progress. There was not a lot left of the song now that he had finished the rap more or less successfully.
I didnât know the weight of this break up I was selfish, I ignored your tears
As the music came to a close Eric sang a last âitâs killing meâ and placed both hands over his throat as the choreography dictated. For a brief moment he simply stood there, chest heaving for breath now that it was over and done with. Immediately after he broke into a big smile and sent a victory sign off to the nearest camera he could spot before he jumped back to his seat with skipping steps. He had been in doubt of whether it had really been a good idea to perform something so far from his league, but now that it was actually over and done with it did feel quite good. He had done his best, and if nothing came out of it, he would definitely be disappointed.
Returning, Eric yet again returned to his seat mate and almost shook the strangerâs arm in his simple inability to control his joy. âDid you see me hyung? Hyung, wasnât I totally cool?! I did it! Iâm so happy!â He didnât have much time to celebrate however as another familiar name was called, Moonbok stepping up to the stage to give his performance and Ericâs attention was immediately directed back to the show itself and his own attempt was already long pushed to the background with what was happening on stage taking all of his focus. âYasssss!â he yelled eagerly as Moonbok stepped down, soon after followed by Jisung who seemed to be a wreck of nerves. âLETâS GET THIS BREAD JISUNGIE HYUNG!â he yelled at the other without thinking about it, and only afterwards did he realise how weird his sentence was and brought a mouth to his hand in an attempt to silence himself.
There was simply all too much happening at once for a young boy who just wanted to show support for those around him.

Holding Court In A Crown {Roger Taylor}
Sequel to And All The Queenâs Men {Roger Taylor}
A/N: 3630 words. Giselle is fun to write and I love her. Another article style, based off of many conversations between @ginghampearlsnsweettea and I. Let me know what you think.
[And All The Queenâs Men âverse masterpost]
HOLDING COURT IN A CROWN - GISELLE TAYLOR in conversation with Vogue UK about her fashion evolution through the decades. (Published June, 1991)
When stepping into the Taylor home, it becomes immediately apparent that this is a home in which public image has always been very important. Gold and Platinum albums alike line the front foyer, shining reminders of the achievements of both artists who reside here. Itâs surprisingly modern, hardwood floors and large windows that allow light to stream in, though the house itself is smaller than one might expect. Giselle herself greets me in the front hall, looking carefully casual in a flattering, warm yellow summer dress, that hits just above her knees, and a pair of matching yellow slip on shoes.
Iâm lead through the house, past closed doors, one of which Iâm told is a personal recording studio, into a open-planned kitchen-dining area. Itâs a strange marriage of two aesthetics, no pun intended, the German-inspired open planned living with the dark counters, appliances, and features that make the space feel a little smaller, though it comes together to make something modern and chic, and perfectly suited to both Giselle and her husbandâs images.
âRogerâs with the girls,â she tells me, referring to her daughters, pouring us both a glass of water in some of the fanciest crystal glasses Iâve ever seen, ânot that he wouldnât jump at the chance to talk about his âfashion choicesâ,â her air quotes, not mine, âbut I thought Iâd spare you the half hour argument about the wine stain, and all the other, sundry fashion choices of mine that he likes to take credit for.â
Giselle herself admits that sheâs always been very fortunate in terms of fashion, âI mean, I look good in everything,â though thereâs an air of self deprecation about it, âActually, Iâve had a certain liberty with my work attire that not a lot of people have, unless youâre in the entertainment industry.â What began with a rented cocktail dress bloomed into one of the most influential fashion timelines of the 70s and 80s.
Beginning her career in an establishment modeled after American prohibition-era speakeasies, Giselle started off wearing cocktail dresses rented from the pub itself. âI actually did start off as a waitress, but for that you just had to provide your own black pants and white top, you know, wait-staff attire.â When the pubâs regular singer leaves, Giselle auditions to be her replacement, âthey were just grateful I could fit into her dress, I could lipsync for all they cared.â Except, as well all know, Giselle can sing, and begun to make a name for herself in the community that frequented the pub.
Pulling out a polaroid of herself and music industry giant Ray Forrester, she shows me the only proof she has of the dress that started it all. Itâs a rather ill-fitting, wine-coloured, sateen slip dress, it looks cheap, and according to Giselle, âit itched like crazy, it was cleaned once a week, and I was just glad that I was the only singer, some of the members of the jazz band had interchangeable costumes.â We both shudder at that, and she puts the photo on the counter.
As soon as she was given some modicum of control over her wardrobe, she took full advantage of it. Without a coherent aesthetic solidified by the release of her first album, Giselle admits she used the tour for Velvet Roses to experiment with both fabrics and styles. I personally have always favoured the midnight blue, velvet bouffant-style dress she wore during her stops in Belfast and Paris, but she goes on to praise the white, silk slip dress she had during her stop in West Berlin.
âSilk! Oh the silk, I dream about that dress sometimes,â she laughs a little, and now that weâve begun to discuss her tour outfits, she leads me upstairs, âat the time it was the most comfortable thing Iâd worn⊠ever; being able to work, to perform in something so luxury? It was a blessing.â
Her closet, at least the closet she stores her tour garments in, is separate from her bedroom, and locked. Sheâs got the key in her pocket, prepared, of course, for the interview, and as we step in I can hear the hum of a dehumidifier, and feel the chill of the air conditioning.
âItâs my one real extravagance.â As she turns on the lights, weâre greeted to the sight of a room, approximately four meters deep and half as wide, lined with railings that are practically stuffed with garment bags of varying sizes, and the end of the little room has a built in area for her jewel toned and bejewelled shoes alike. Three mannequins pose in the ample amount of space in the centre of the room, each wearing one of her most iconic outfits.
Each section of the racks around the side are carefully labelled by year, and it takes only a moment for Giselle to go through the section labelled 1971 before sheâs pulling that same white dress from a garment bag. It still looks pristine, and when she offers for me to feel it, I understand what sheâs saying.
âIâve always tried to keep a very high standard in term of the materials I wear,â it was the first part of her aesthetic identity that was formed. âIâd never really had access to luxury on this scale before; Iâd lived in sweaters and jeans for most of my [university] days; I was one of those girls in the little skirts and beaded tops at clubs- I lived my life in gogo boots every weekend of my first year.â Apparently she still has her favourite pair in the back of her personal closet, but seems hesitant to show me.
When asked what prompted her aesthetic shift, she reveals her passion for luxury stage-wear was only part of the decision. âIâd go on stage in silk pyjamas like Hugh Hefner if I could, but itâs not my brand.â Forrester was a big motivating force behind her solidification as the picture of elegance.
We get to the first of the mannequin dresses now, the fitted, black, off the shoulder cocktail dress, shining with sequins and beads, a perfect frozen reminder of her performance on Top of the Pops. To see it in person, still pristine, I get hit with just a hint of nostalgia, as does Giselle herself it seems. Marvelling at it with arms crossed over her chest, Iâm granted a closer look at what was quite possibly the most iconic outfit of the 1972 lineup on the hit British musical program. The gloves themselves are more intricate than first imagined; what was assumed to just be red glitter is actually hand stitched, red sequins from the tips of the finger all the way to the wrist where it fades to chunky, red glitter, glued on and somehow width standing the test of time, to then dissolve into fine and sparsely scattered red glitter from the mid-forearm to the elbow. The beads and sequins on the dress itself are affixed with barely noticeable, shiny red thread, that gives the dress dimension up close. Giselle cites Gothic Romanticism as an inspiration to add depth to her jazz-bar persona, as well as the theatrics of musical theatre, going so far as to called the dress the âMerry Murderessâ despite the fact that the musical Chicago premiered almost three years after the dressâ initial debut.
Despite this look being regarded as one of her classics, and therefore setting the standard for her public image for the years to come, thereâs no denying that Giselle didnât enjoy experimenting with her outfits.
âIâve never technically worn pants on stage,â as we move further into the room, she begins to pull various garment bags from the racks seemingly at random, âskirts, skorts, shorts - which some might argue are close enough - dresses, and even full jumpsuits, but never actual pants; Iâve always been worried that they were too masculinising for my act.â Moving on to the rack labeled 1975, she pulls out a particularly slim bag, and from it she pulls a pair of shorts made of what looks like liquid gold, but I know is made of velvet, with suspenders to match. It hangs over a sheer, flowing, cream crop-top with bell sleeves.
This outfit is cited as the first time she had deviated from her skirts and dresses, though the outfit itself is still exquisite and has an air of regality. âI was in Phoenix in â74 when I wore this; Iâd had it included in my repertoire for the Hand Held Heart tour in case it became especially hot,  which, being Arizona in the summertime, it was.â Itâs here we start to see the influence of other artists bleed into her work; the occasional feathery flamboyance borrowed from Elton John, the avant-garde pattern and makeup work popularised by David Bow, and of course, the extravagance and glitz of Queenâs Freddie Mercury.
âYou always have to specify that itâs [Freddie Mercury],â sheâs very serious on this point, holding up her iconic, short, incredibly sheer white, long-sleeved fitted dress, marbled with red sequins to protect her modesty. Itâs reminiscent of the red and white shorts Mercury had been known to favour on tours. âThe others, while, yes, they could be well dressed on occasion, [Roger Taylor]âs lime green jeans aside, they never had the flair or audacity that Freddie had to be truly influential.â
After recording a cover of Queenâs Jesus for her third album, Giselle entered into an unofficial partnership with the band, which she tells me included a collaboration with Mercury himself on their costumes.
âIâd spent a long time trying to merge my style and my musical origins with modern aesthetics; I worked very closely with a designer, since itâs not technically my strong suit.â She pauses for a moment, and we make our way to the mannequins again, this time to the second, a floor-length, evening-gown style dress in lilac, capped sleeves, looking as though itâs tie-dyed with blackcurrant glass beads instead of fabric dye. âGetting to collaborate with the band was easy enough; I did talk with [Jim Beach] regarding the use of the song, but he ultimately he ruled that it was up to them, and so once that connection was established, I actually asked Freddie to help me with some tour outfit designs.â
People often assume Giselle is referring to her team contacting Queenâs lawyer, but she goes on record now to explain that itâs not true. âIâm a lawyer, my own lawyer, and I also work for several big-name bands in the music industry today. EMI picked me up halfway through my final year, but I still continued to go to [university], and I did actually intern under (sic) [Beach] while writing my second album. â Iâm assured that she had just regular suits in her personal closet; three, in grey, black, and cream, well fitted, âbut not why youâre hereâ she adds with a self-deprecating smile.
The lavender and blackberry dress was one designed by Mercury himself, the pale lavender representative of elegance and femininity, while the darker blackcurrant is used to bring depth to the dress the same way Giselleâs unwavering, calculated persona brings depth to her performances. It was Mercuryâs idea to interweave the two in the tie-dyed style, keeping Giselleâs traditional aesthetic through the glass beads and the cut of the dress.
As we continue along the timeline, itâs clear to see the effect Mercury had on Giselleâs stage wardrobe, the use of geometric patterns coupled with bold colours, and more glitter and sequins than you can shake a stick at becoming more prominent throughout the late 70s, somehow still managing to keep in line with her traditional aesthetic simultaneously.
âI refuse to wear print.â Sheâs adamant about it when the possibility of wearing a garment like Mercuryâs vest with his cats painted on it comes up. âGeometric doesnât count; the texture in my wardrobe is always going to be,â she pauses for a moment, searching for the right word, fingers brushing through the fur of the fur-cuffs of a long-sleeved purple velvet number, âdiegetic.â She settles on, and itâs clear what she means; patterns on her clothes are always wrought through beads or diamonds or fur or other things attached. âItâs the reason I have it locked, [Lilith Taylor, 7] has left the âindiscriminately grabbing things that feel niceâ stage a few years ago, but Rosie [Rosemary Taylor, 4] is just at the tail end of it. Theyâll have free reign of this place one day,â she looks around at the fashion legacy she has built for herself, she wears an expression of pride, though itâs more focused on her daughters than the clothes themselves, âbut for now I want to keep choking hazards and expensive furs out of danger.â
Around the very end of the 70s to the beginning of the 80s we see a return to form, with the resurgence of her form-fitted cocktail dresses. âThere was a lot of change happening in my life at that time, and as much as I enjoy experimenting with my looks, it helped me feel secure to know I was in what was objectively my strong suit, pun not intended.â Â According to her, sheâd just begun seeing Roger Taylor, and she used her fashion choices to exercise control in her life that she felt she was losing.
âMy private life has always been very private, now here I am with the man who trashes drum kits and throws TVs out window; I was so afraid that every time people took a photo of me, or even looked at me, theyâd think I was compromising my morals or integrity - which Iâm not, and I wasnât then.â She quickly clarifies. âOur personal history is not void because of where we are now, but Roger and I have also changed as people, and weâre allowed to have our feelings change. Iâm honestly a little offended people think I we would have gone through all we did for mere publicity.â
Speaking of Roger, Iâm a little surprised her wedding dress isnât one of those on the mannequins, but I understand her choice, and weâll certainly get to that soon. Her wedding dress sits at the back of one of the racks, carefully distant from any of the year labels. As she removes it from the garment bag, she gives it a softly nostalgic smile, brushing the fabric gently. âThis should really go in my own closet.â Itâs unlike most of her other outfits here, such a pale cream itâs almost white, floor-length and sleeveless with a Roman-inspired cinched waist topped with what I hesitate to even call ruffles, their drapings so loose itâs reminiscent of curled hair rather than a traditional ruffle. The material is so soft and light that even on a hanger it looks a little ethereal. Itâs simple, elegant, and the very sight of it brings joy to her face.
ââ81.â The year is surprising, as is the revelation she shares about how they celebrated their tenth anniversary a few months prior. Putting the dress away, we move to the early eighties, and itâs almost cyclical the way weâre brought back to the âMerry Murderessâ aesthetic with the lineup from her âThe Bend Before The Breakâ tour.Â
âEveryone and their mother seems to have read the article [All The Queenâs Men, Rolling Stone, 1985] and figured out I was in a shaky place at the time; itâs again about having that modicum (sic) of control. Part of me reverted to portraying myself in the way when I felt like I was at the height of control in my relationships and career. Itâs a pretty aesthetic,â she gently pulls a velvet, wine-coloured cocktail dress from the rack, giving it a gentle pat, âit made my stage presence feel good, honestly.â It doesnât sound bitter, but she puts the dress back.Â
Apologising for a moment, she explains the large gap between â82 and â84, with her Finally, Sunlight tour. âAfter coming home from the [The Bend Before The Break] tour, I took some time to myself; I was, of course, still writing, but I couldnât really perform or make any big public appearances after like, July in â83, because I was quite pregnant, and, again, Iâm a private person.â The Finally, Sunlight tour is known for two things, Giselle wearing gold, silver, and copper, in any and every way she could, and the Atlanta Breakdown.
âI wore metallics because Finally, Sunshine is about my baby girls, and they are so precious to me.â As was made clear in the Rolling Stone article, Giselle and Roger lost one of their twin daughters to illness in Autumn of 1984, though Lilith survived, it took a devastating toll on the couple. Moving past that, weâre finally brought to the crown jewel of the collection; her Live Aid dress.
Itâs almost the antithesis to the âMerry Murderessâ, though it shares a similar neckline and off-the-shoulder style. The Live Aid dress, which Giselle calls âQueen Midasâ for reasons Iâll get into later, has a white, crushed velvet bodice with an inbuilt corset, and basque waistline. Beneath the waist is a enough layers of thin and flowing georgette to become completely opaque, like a waterfall from the waistline, the colours fading from a bright, sunshine yellow at the hip, to a rich, sunset orange by the knee, and finally to a smokey, warm-toned charcoal where it brushes the ground, with gold jewels dotted around the bottom and creeping almost to the knee in some sporadic places, reminiscent of embers in a fire. Her gloves are white velvet, and just like with the first of her most iconic outfits, itâs gold sequinned fading to actual glitter and diamonds.Â
âI took a hard look at where I was and what I had achieved, and... whether or not I can help it, I effect people, through my music, my actions, through what I wear, and can be a double edged sword. Sometimes it can hurt, or I can hurt others by saying or doing the wrong thing, but sometimes I find myself wanting for nothing; everything Iâve held close has turned to gold. I wanted to show that, to be able to be a part of something that gives back to the world where itâs given me so much.â
With all her most well-known outfits having been covered, thereâs one more that comes to the top of my head; the jacket of 1980. The tabloids had a field day with her choice of wardrobe as she stepped out of a car with the rest of Queen wearing a salmon and green floral, double breasted suit jacket, with silver buttons and silver stilettos, with sheer, thigh high white socks held up by a garter belt, hair fashionably messy, but makeup pristine. The deviation from her usual pristine image had shocked both paparazzi and public alike, however the daring outfit had quickly been lauded as one of her best, many publications who ran photos even citing it as the entertainment industryâs hottest innovative look of the decade. Even since it has stood the test of time, and has been attributed to the rise of patterned and bold suit jacket purchases by men and women alike, with the outfit have been cited as inspiration for more than one celebrityâs red carpet look.Â
Now, however, something, possibly amusement, possibly annoyance, crosses her face, and she tells me itâs not here. The jacket is Mercuryâs. âWe were on our way to a party being hosted by [Elton John], and Iâd only been with Rog for a few months at this point; so weâre in the back of the limo with the other [members of Queen] and Rogerâs spilled his wine on my nice, white cocktail dress.â It seems like a bittersweet memory, and she reminds me of her earlier comment about the âwine stain argumentâ. âIn hindsight, everything worked out, but at the time I was absolutely livid; very nearly killed him in that backseat. Poor [John Deacon] literally had to drag me off of him. [It] took both him and Freddie to hold me back when Roger got out once we arrived, and they had the driver circle the block again so I could change into Freddieâs jacket, which he so kindly lent to me.â
From her tone, and her following comments about how her husband likes to bring it up, it seems as though itâs a well worn argument of how Roger Taylor enjoys taking credit for the look, though Giselle doesnât seem like she enjoys giving him the satisfaction.
âMy image has always been about how much I can control what people see of me, and to have that control taken away by a careless action, it really hurt. A man like Roger, in the entertainment industry, is never going to face the kind of scrutiny that I do, itâs the reason youâre here at all, talking to me about fashion rather than say, how difficult it is to be a practicing lawyer in the music industry while raising two beautiful daughters. And I still write music on occasion. But people remember what you show them, how you present yourself; my tour wardrobe is a reflection of the persona I let interact with the world, and itâs beautiful, and a legacy that will probably outlive me to some extent.Â
âDo I regret any of my fashion choices? I donât really have the liberty to, do I? And either way, theyâre part of the reason Iâm where I am today; I made a niche for myself that was built initially on my aesthetic, if Iâm being generous, so I suppose Iâll always be grateful to it.â

MNET GLOBAL AUDITIONS EPISODE 4 ; DUO PERFORMANCES
partner ; @ericxrkâ song choices ; anything you can do (i can do better) - annie get your gun cast [ 1:06 - 2:20 ]  + love never felt so good - michael jackson [ 0:44 - 1:14 ] guy part both times *both dancer choreographed by eric and yugyeomÂ
the end of episode three does not come with dry eyes.Â
yugyeom thought he would be able to handle seeing one of his friends get eliminated, he thought he would be fine as long as he stayed because he was still getting the chance to work for his goals and he could carry on with the dreams of his friends. thats what he thought going into this. and really, he never had thought there would be a reason to worry because his friends are all crazy talented--more so than him--and they would survive on this show longer than he would.
it was something he was so fucking sure of. something he would have staked this whole show on. no one he considered a friend would leave, not suwoong, not hyunggu, not jinyoung.Â
then why was jinyoungs name coming up as someone eliminated?Â
there was obvious shock on his features, his eyes wide and mouth open as he takes in what had just happened. he couldnât believe of everyone in this room, it was park jinyoung they eliminated.
his eyes watered without his approval, and he furiously wiped at them with the back of his hand as he tried to keep a straight even face. trying to keep calm when really he wanted to stand up and tell them they were wrong for cutting jinyoung. they were wrong for eliminating the best singer on this show. how could they not see that about his hyung?
and then to top it off the next episode was going to be fucking duoâs again. sure, yugyeom is all for routine. heâs all for getting a set schedule going and following it as well as he could with maybe some blips here and there. but this show was supposed to show who had the skill to be an idol right? if they have them do the same shit over and over then how are they going to really show off? he supposes theyâre weeding people out well enough but he canât help but question how the fuck theyâre deciding who goes and who stays when a performer like jinyoung was cut---hell, he had thought jinyoung hyung and jeonghan ssi performances were the best of the show.Â
it hurts more too because he feels between him and jinyoung it should be his hyung moving on. he doesnât feel like he should even go home and face the older tonight when heâs holding a spot that so obviously belongs to his hyung.
his hand it back rubbing at his eyes and god he wishes hyunggu was here beside him right now. he wishes he could have reached out to clung to the younger as hyunggu always seems to know what he needs. he likes kyungsoo enough but he wouldnât be turning to the other in a moment like this, wouldnât show his weakness off to someone who was now just another rival contestant as they arenât paired up.Â
speaking of... he supposes he should go and find his partner.Â
eric turned out to be a bright kid, friendly and talented and a dancer. which yugyeom couldnât have been more happy about because ( no shade at you kyungsoo, you were great ) it would be so great to be back in his zone with dancing. this kid was, well, a kid was really the first thing yugyeom noticed and focused on and it was absolutely a point of stress for him this week because heâs been known to not be good with kids.Â
but thereâs a time to start and apparently that was now. besides, he could have been paired with someone who was hard to work with or someone who was even a worse dancer but he didnât and small victories are what heâs focusing.Â
he is ignoring the growing distress he feels regarding jinyoung and the second chance his hyung has because he really will lose it.Â
the week practicing with eric is a good time. like he said, the kid was cool--or did he say that yet? well, the kid is cool. his style of dance doesnât match with yugyeoms preferred style but they make it work. he thinks they managed to get it figured out so that they were both showing off their own skills while also making a balanced performance that would be fun to watch.Â
his mind recalls the harsh comments he had gotten from nakyung during the third episode. how she said he seemed to bring kyungsoo down and as much as he didnât believe that he didnât want to bring eric down as well. he didnât care what she said--he canât even remember what she had done last time or the times before that so she must not have been all that good--and heâll show her she can stuck her foot where her words come from.Â
with eric and this performance they have figured out heâs sure he can show the ceoâs, the other contestants, and everyone watching the show that he deserves to keep going.Â
heâs not dragging anyone down.Â
the day of the next episode comes around and yugyeom meets up with eric a bit before the time they are supposed to show up for recording. he could hear dongmin in his mind teasing him for being a mom as he whips out a water, and an granola bar. âhere, eat up. itâs important to stay refreshed and recording last a while.â he speaks as he brings out the container he also packed that had some cut up fruits in it for them.Â
âdonât worry about the performance, okay? just go up and have fun, thats most important.â sometimes its funny how a year ago he probably wouldnât have been as supportive or helpful even if theyâre partners or teammates.Â
soon enough theyâre inside and finding a seat. heâs making sure not to lose eric the whole time, while also checking for hyunggu as he hadnât gotten the chance to check in on his best friend today yet. too focused on his duo partner. not that he has to worry much about hyunggu, the other male isnât that much younger than him and heâs more than capable of looking after himself. blame it on the time heâs been leader and also his relationship change with dongmin.Â
he lives with concern for those around him. always making sure they have what they need and making sure theyâre taking care of themselves.Â
throughout the recording and the other performances, yugyeom is making small comments to eric the whole time. mainly trying to keep the teen smiling, or keep him relaxed. the two of them look cool in their matching black outfits and now it was important to keep that vibe going.Â
especially when their names are called.
cool vibes... cool vibes. thats what yugyeom kept saying to himself because what heâs about to do is so not cool.Â
they get onto stage and stand side by side, together they recite. âbang bang! shoting for your heart, we are sharpshooters!â while doing finger guns at the ceoâs. yugyeom even pivots on his heel slightly to face the side. raising his finger gun up and blowing it off like they do in cool moves. âiâm kim yugyeom, please look forward to our performance!âÂ
so lame.... so corny...Â
but fun. and yugyeom wanted this stage to be fun.Â
and then its time to begin their performance. they step to opposite sides of the stage, itâs eric who starts as he has the female lines in this song. theyâre doing something so different than what theyâve all seen so far from this show. a musical number and then a classic song from the world famous michael jackson. both times they are dancing--but for the first song they were also going to lipsync. with all the needed facial expression.Â
Anything you can be, I can be greater. Sooner or later I'm greater than you.
their whole act is that they are trying to one up one another. which, isnât that really whole this whole show is about? one upping the others on the show, trying to show and prove how youre better than they are so that the judges keep you around. thereâs a sense of irony in his performance with eric today, he thinks.Â
itâs a little hard to not laugh or break out into a grin as he lipsyncs along with the song. itâs a funny song, and the dance that him and eric had choregraphed was fun and amusing all at the same time. he had a lot of fun performing it.Â
it had taken a lot of practice for them to get it down, in all honesty. some of the moves were not up yugyeoms alley of dance--at least not for their first choice. the second was the one where he would be showing off more.Â
the first song came to an end with a bang, the two of them posing and trying to pose in front of each other. they were only about a minute and fifteen into their time limit now. and it was time for the small mock argument which him and eric had talked out. they would mostly mime looking angry at each other before yugyeom tugged eric back to him with a grin.Â
âletâs do it together then, yeah? â he said as the next song faded in, the familiar michael jackson song he had listen too a million times before needing to hearing it a million times more when choreographing for it. this one didnât have all the needed facial expressions or lipsyncing. this time they were just supposed to look like they were having a good time when dancing which.Â
for yugyeom, not hard at all. he always tends to have a blast when he gets to dance and heâs sure that showed as he dance. his expression was bright, energetic, and he looked as if he was really enjoying himself on the stage.Â
and as the song fades, his smile only grows. not a grin as he normally has but a bright smile as his arm comes to sling around erics shoulder once the music ends. he feels proud of what theyâve done. like they really came onto this stage and showed off a fun performance. he thinks, for real this time, he did something that was creative and different. he thinks how was that nakyung? despite not even looking her way. instead he just smiles, and ruffles erics hair as they make their way back to their seats.Â
âyou really killed it just now kid, that was awesome!â he cheers, bright and happy.Â

THE FINAL POST
To everyone who thought that this blog was dead, you were mistaken. Yes, I have risen from the emotional shambles that was moving out of residence, and as I [start to] write this post I will be sleeping in my bed in BDot for the first time of the summer. Essentially, with this post, Iâm hoping to hit some of the highlights of the year, but mostly itâs just going to turn into one long [and I mean looooong] sappy post dedicated to all of the friends that Iâve made along the way. So buckle your seatbelt ladies and gents and let me walk you through my first year of university.
One of the things that always gave us something to look forward to was going to Arvindâs concerts. If you remember, Arvind is my friend who is in the music program at McGill, and he plays the flute [most of the time at least]. The first concert of his that we went to was on November 2nd, but we went to many more throughout the year. In second semester, Arvind wasnât placed in one of the major ensembles, which was very upsetting, but also meant that we got to see him perform in the university chorus, yes that means singing. All of us marked it down in our calendars, and I thankfully captured the song with hand motions on video [Come Sweeeeeeeet Death]. Despite being constantly challenged by his teachers, Arvind definitely pushed through first year and is no doubt on his way to becoming the best flutist at McGill.Â
Towards the end of our first semester, we started having frequent game nights, where uno was by far the most popular pick. Through our game nights, many new catchphrases were created, such as: âoh is that not good for you?â, âcAnât gO?â, âdonât trust Michael, donât trust Michael [to the tune of frere jacques]â, âeeYEAHHHâ, and many more that Iâm probably forgetting. This was especially helpful to help us all deal with the stress of final exams, and âuno in 503?â was a question that would often appear in our group chat [503 was Anna and Sayakaâs room number]. I know, I know, really? You guys stayed in to play uno instead of going out to some party? Most of the time, yes. I canât believe it either.
Soon after first semester was over, the Owlâs Nest realized that our residenceâs dining hall was just not going to cut it for the rest of the year, and we started eating at other dining halls much more frequently. Speaking of food, group outings became a defining feature of my friend group, and we would often plan dinners or brunches at our favourite restaurants weeks in advance [so that we could save our money haha]. Universel was definitely our favourite breakfast place, and Iâm pretty sure all of us took our parents and friends there whenever they were in town. Fisshu, although we only went twice, was a delicious sushi restaurant, oh my goodness I can taste the maki from here, yum. Moving on to the more classic university experience, late night trips to Tims, or orders from Chef on Call [their veggie burger gets an A+ from Michael, Sena and I], were probably a little too frequent than weâd like to admit. Yes, thatâs right everyone I am still not eating meat, and Iâm quite proud of that fact so please try not to eat chicken wings in front of me or I might cry (I wonât eat them though, Michael stop judging me).Â

As I mentioned in my last post ions ago, I was a part of Hall Council this year. After the Halloween event, we had many more successes. We hosted two coffee houses [like mini talent shows], a winter formal, another beer pong tournament, a residence wide month long elimination game called Gotcha, a free food event, and a âFlashback to Froshâ event. Iâll insert videos of my friends and I performing at coffee house, I have some talented pals let me tell you! While hall council meetings were almost always a little bit chaotic, and we had our fair share of drama, I wouldnât give up my experience on it for the world. We had so much fun running events for our peers, and I got to spend so much more time with my friends doing things that we love [i.e. being in charge haha]. Our council advisors said that we were one of the most cohesive councils that theyâve ever worked with, and I think that our ability to work well together really showed. Even though we were a group of almost 30 people, which was challenging at some times, we really made things happen. Between running our own events, and going to the events hosted by other councils, we all had a really good time within the residence community and Iâm really thankful for that.Â

Moving on to RezWarz, which I mentioned in one of my very first posts, there were several events throughout the year that contributed to the accumulation of RezWarz points. The first notable one is the IronChef competition. A team from each of the residences [or most of them], competed against each other in a cooking competition, where they had to cook both a protein and a vegetarian plate within a time limit, making sure to incorporate a few of the mystery ingredients. My friend Anna [who you should recognize from previous posts] competed alongside my friends Himanshu and Flemming, and they WON! It was very exciting for everyone involved, other than them who were actually competing because they didnât even want to win! The winners of the first round would represent McGill in the next level, which was taking place at the University of Massachusetts. While they were very reluctant at first because of the time commitment that competing would mean, they decided to go, and they even got third place! Winning the IronChef competition was pretty remarkable for a few reasons. For one thing, C4 does not have any kitchens for students to use, so Anna, Flemming and Himanshu had to practice for RezWarz in another residenceâs kitchen, and only for a few hours. Additionally, winning the IronChef competition meant a TON of RezWarz points, putting Carrefour Sherbrooke in FIRST PLACE. But this was not the last competition, so we had to fight really hard to try to stay on top.Â

(Anna, Himanshu, and Flemming holding their prizes!)
Our final RezWarz challenge was to create a lipdub, which, if youâre unfamiliar, is basically a crazy upbeat video where a bunch of people dressed in funky outfits lipsync to the camera in one take. C4 had managed to hold its lead in RezWarz up till this point, but it was really important that we made a really awesome video in order to secure the win. I had always wanted to make a lipdub video, so I kind of made this project my baby, with the help of wolves [thatâs what we call my friend Emma if you havenât caught on by now]. After making the track that we would be lipsyncing to, creating a shotlist of where each song would take place, and assigning the people who would âsingâ each part, it was time to film. Filming, while very tiring, and not quite as crisp as I wouldâve liked it to be, was a success. I then poured the rest of that night into editing and after probably around 15 hours total working on the lipdub, it was complete. The winners of RezWarz were to be announced in a couple of days at council dis-orientation, as well as the highest scorers for the lipdub. As it turned out, we won the lipdub, and as a result, WON REZWARZ! Iâm sure it doesnât sound like that big of a deal, but it really was for us. This was so ridiculously exciting for myself, all of my friends, hall council, and C4 as a whole. I hope I havenât talked it up too much, but attached below is the C4 Lipdub. I know that this will be something that my friends and I can look back on for years to come, so Iâm really happy that it turned out so well.Â

Next up on my list of bullet points, birthdays! The Owlâs Nest knows how to celebrate a birthday. After Emma and Michaelâs birthdays which I already mentioned, we celebrated 4 more birthdays throughout the year [Sorry Arvind and Sena who have their birthdays over the summer]! We celebrated Annaâs birthday on November 15. Anna booked us an airbnb for the night, so that we could cook ourselves a meal, and bake some desert to boot! Overall the night was a lot of fun, between screaming the lyrics to every ABBA song, to Michael blaming the tomatoes for the mediocre pasta, to eating a delicious brownie with ice cream, to playing board games, to trying to make eggs in a pot in the morning, we had a blast. Next up on the 30th was Jonathanâs birthday. For his birthday I collaborated with his girlfriend to hold a surprise party for him in my room while she was in town. We went out and bought all the decorations: streamers, a banner, balloons, noisemakers, glow sticks, the whole nine yards. I spent a couple of hours setting everything up in my room, and I gotta say it looked pretty good considering it was just me [for the most part, thatâs right Michael, you barely helped]. I swear he almost peed his pants so it was all worth it!Â

The next birthday was actually none other than yours truly! As you might have seen on facebook, for my birthday I decided I would like to go skating in old Montreal. But first, we stopped at A&W so I could grab the beautiful beyond meat burger with sweet potato fries hehe. After a treacherous walk in the cold we finally made it to the rink, which was stunning. I had to reteach myself how to skate for the first while, but once I got it, all was good. The walk back was much less pleasant, all of the owls had to defrost when we got home, but it was worth it [right guys?]. Writing this has reminded me that Iâm the old lady of the group, and now I feel weird, but thatâs alright, admire the photos.

Finally, the last birthday that we celebrated of the year was Sayakaâs! For her birthday we all went out to a Japanese restaurant [sheâs the tiny Japanese one if that wasnât obvious], and then we came back to rez and had a little party. By little party, I mean we got a little too drunk in my room, but thatâs fine. We already have plans to visit Sena and Arvind for their birthdays so they wonât feel left out, donât worry!Â
Before I move on to the really sappy stuff, here are some various photos of various fun things from throughout the year that didnât really fit with the topics above.

(Myself, Michael, Sena, Anna, Arvind and Sayaka after the St. Patrickâs Day Parade, heading out to the Irish bar)

(Wolves, Michael and I went to the Montreal Youth Climate March that was observed by hundreds of thousands of students around the world)

(Wolves, Anna, Sena Lili and I at our first [and only] frat party)

(Sena, Michael, Arvind and I before heading to upper rez for a party with Michaelâs friend from home)

(A photo taken on the walk home from karaoke. It was around -25 degrees and also the middle of a snowstorm [and also the night that Arvind and I ended up taking Michael to the hospital for a stomach bug])

(You canât really tell, but a few of my friends from rez went across the street to protest the protestors who blew airhorns everyday at 10am and 3pm for months)

(From when Sena, Michael, Arvind and I met up in Toronto over the Christmas break)

(A picture of Arvind, Sayaka, Jonathan, Anna, Michael and I with the head chef of our dining hall at the holiday banquet)

(Self explanatory)

(Sena and I counting worms for our biology project)
(An awful photo but an incredible night. We had just had âcamp councilâ which is basically just code for hall council getting drunk with the floor fellows. We were going to go out to a club or something, but instead we ended up having a massive snowball fight on McGillâs lower field, which was definitely 1000x more fun)

(From the night I climbed Mont Royal to take some photos)

(Michael and I at what turned into our favourite bar, McKibbins)

(Taken on one of our last nights together in Rez)

(Itâs always snuggle time)

(My roommate Delal and I, right before I moved out of residence)
Okay here comes the really sappy emotional stuff, so feel free to skip ahead if youâre not up for it. I want to write little open letters to the people who made my first year away from home so incredible. So here it goes.Â
To Sayaka:
Our little Japanese! Itâs so hard to believe that at one point you were just the crazy roommate of twin #1 that was moving into 503. You are definitely nothing like what those twins said you would be. What we gained instead was a caring, sweet, GIGGLY new friend that we could adopt into the owlâs nest. Whether it was scream-laughing too loud in the dining hall [I can still feel Ahmedâs intense gaze], or singing a little tune, or looking at anyone with those big eyes, youâve always had such a positive attitude, and I think we could all learn from that. I will always remember standing in line for warehouse and you asking if you could touch my hair hahaha. A few things to clarify: no you are not 6 feet tall, I live east of you not âupâ, the easter bunny has nothing to do with jesus, and so on. However, if you ever need anything, I will always be around to support you, how could anyone abandon the little one and make her japaNESE MAD. I have lots of love for you, and you donât have to ask to pet my straight hair anymore, I give you eternal permission!
At the end of all these little open letters Iâm going to say the song that reminds me of each of the owls, and since musical theatre is something we could always bond over, the song that makes me think of you is Poor Unfortunate Souls. While I was barely in The Little Mermaid AT MY HIGH SCHOOL, Iâm so mad I missed you performing as Ursula. Although, I totally cannot imagine little ole you performing as the big nasty sea witch. I guess thatâs just some Disney magic for ya.Â
To Jonathan:
Obviously, our friendship started with quite a few boulders to overcome. It definitely was not easy all of the time, but Iâm really glad that we both stuck to the nest, because it just wouldnât have been the same otherwise. We all know you as drunky jack, or white bread, and I truly hope those nicknames stick around, theyâre just too funny lmao. You were one of the first people that I ever felt comfortable around in residence, ever since that night that you, Arvind, James and I walked around in search of an SAQ before we landed in Tims. From the way that we stayed up just talking for hours that night, there was absolutely no way that we wouldnât remain friends. Donât lose your spirit. Sometimes throughout the year it was clear you were a little down, but whenever the white boy dance moves were busted out, everyone had the chance to smile for at least a second. Try not to be a stranger.Â
A song reminds me of you [and obviously first year in general], is Body. There was something about drunky jack in the first week of school that just screams body, so I think itâs a perfect fit [the video of you at beach day, yikes].
To wOlves:
I remember thinking that I would never even get the chance to meet you. What crazy struggles getting that study permit (or whatever it was hehe). I also vividly remember meeting you for the first time and thinking âdamn it this girl knows more memes than meâ. You literally started flossing in the middle of the room and I just - wow. And you already know how impressed I was that day that you gave that man directions, not in french, no, in SPANISH. We definitely got a lot closer throughout second semester because of our favourite men [who helped us find the aREa of the potatOID]. I see a lot of myself in you, from our taste in bOys, to our taste in music, to our taste in sporcle quizzes, weâve got a lot to talk about. Youâre always there to laugh at my sarcastic side comments, and let me tell you I will always be there to laugh at yours. Some days I swear our minds are linked together. You overcame a lot this year, and Iâm proud of you for that. As soon as we get back to Montreal, you, Sena and I must have a cuddly movie night, okay?? I absolutely loved screaming harmonies with you every chance we got, we gotta jam more now that Shelby is fixed and ready to play more Billie. I swear weâll give you a better birthday party this year, but come on, we tried. One day, ONE DAY, you will perfect the mOve, and I will be there to capture the moment in all of its essence. We have many more inside jokes to create [haha eh :P] so I donât know what you were planning buuuut youâre not going anywhere. Youâre also the only one in the nest whoâs movie taste I trust [come on Sena, you want to watch an action movie again??]. We need to do a day where we watch each others favourite movies, even if itâs a lot of them! Iâve thoroughly enjoyed our movie dates over text message and we better keep doing that all summer, it makes me feel less lonely! I love you like youâre my child and I will keep screaming at you not to eat timbits during shabbat [shabbafe bampus hehe]. I swear one day we will run into linear algebra boy and simultaneously confess our love for him, but until then we can only dream. Donât forget your worth. I love you so much my little wolf.
Sis, you already know what your song is. No Flex by our favourite boys TMG. I feel like this doesnât need any more explanation. [my body count up in the double digits (11), I got a TEXT, thatâs all, no further comments thank you].
To Avinash Arvind Krishendeholl [the Indestructible Lotus]:
Wa-ow, what a year itâs been eH? First of all, thank you for being everyoneâs emotional support dog, youâre probably one of the most dedicated friends that Iâve ever had. I probably would have cried myself to sleep many times this year if it werenât for you. I donât know what it is about you, but I think that everyone can just automatically sense that youâre trustworthy even when they first meet you. I felt instantly heard by you, and thatâs a very special quality to have, and I mean it. I know we kid all the time, but I actually want to take the time to be completely honest with you in this little message because I feel like I donât tell you enough how much I appreciate you. Arvind, youâve really felt like my partner through the year and I know that a lot of the nest feels the same way. Youâre the safety patroller 1 to my safety patroller 2, and I feel like it works for us. That first crisis really bonded us, I think it became evident to both of us that we are both the type of people who wonât just go to sleep if we feel that any one is in danger that we can help. Weâre problem solvers my dude. I know everyone says they donât know what they would do without you, and thatâs just become something that people say casually, but seriously. You were a grounding force for all of us, someone that we could go to for actually anything. Whether it be conflict within the group, conflict with someone else, just a bad day, a big paper due, or even wanting a good laugh and a bite to eAT, you were there. You were there if I just wanted to sit in a room with someone else, or if I wanted a shoulder to cry on, and I hope you feel that I can be the same for you when you need it. Beyond all of this sappy crap, youâre seriously a force to be reckoned with. I know this year was tough for you in music [seriously why would they put a flutist in a choir, Schulich wyd??], you have the ability, and the perseverance to do absolutely anything that you want. I actually canât wait to see what the future holds for you because whatever it is you end up doing, youâre GOING to dominate, no doubt in my mind. Your section would be incomplete without a mention of all of your catchphrases so here we go: what are we gonna eat NOW, wait whyâd the mood change, L-O-L, sAAAd, I have received communications from Mr. McIntosh, you want some cUHrry, im JOKING im joking, gUUUYS, senAAAAAAH, waaow, in FAAAACT, the power of seven theorem states, thatâs a fallacy, whatâre you gonna do gIRL, OPE, wait whyâd you look down, Iâm on a diet, letâs get the gOO, knowing me knowing you ahah, chef?, Iâm in mUsic, now wHaaat are you doing, bwaaaaaah, ooooozgayyy, weeeeeelll??, heeeeet [hoot hoot], schWWIIING, the sweet meats, motion, notice, stOP gUYS, eeeeeYeaaah, Kaaaaaasssidyyyy Michael saaaaaiddd, heLLO, just a petit quelque chose, I am holding a notice in my left paw, proceed in B flat minor. Nest donât punish me for forgetting a bunch, heâs a very quotable boy.Â
Your song was already mentioned in this post, and I believe it is very fitting Knowing Me, Knowing You [ahaaaah]. Anything ABBA will remind me of you and Michael instantly, for obvious reasons, but I chose this song because it became one of your catchphrases and I think it suits the two of us the best [you know me all too well].Â
To Shishtar:
I get to tell you all of the things I love about you everyday next year in our cute little apartment hehe. But of course I will give you your space here as well. I am proud to be the first fluent speaker of Sennish [other than the creator herself]. I know Arvind and Michael give you a hard time, but they just donât get you like I do. I hope you donât mind that I totally latched to you during frosh, but I think it worked out well for both of us, what do you think? If you go back and read some of my first posts, it was all Sena all the time. I canât wait to live with you in just a few months. It going to be like having slumber parties every night, and oh my the DECORATING! I had so much fun every single time we went out together [that might be trouble hehe] youâll always be my best dance partner. I know that no matter what Iâm feeling I can go to you and trust that youâll feed that emotion back to me. If I want to laugh, youâre in, if I want to cry, you pull up the audition videos, itâs really a good set up weâve got going. I want you to know I will always always always be here for you. If a shishtar is in need, a shishtar is here for her, those are the rules. I just know we have so much in store for us and our friendship and I canât wait to do it all. I feel like youâre the friend that I can adventure with, youâll never turn down a good time [unless youâve already drank too much and canât make it out lmaoooo]. Iâm so happy that we raised our worm babies together, even if that experiment was VERY questionable! I wonder how theyâre doing now actually, probably thriving. Letâs not carry soil back from across the city again though, that was not too much fun. I will now go into some roommate vows. As your roommate I pledge to always repeat myself when you say wait..WHAT?, and only get annoyed at it sometimes. I promise to cook you breakfast when I get the chance, and more importantly, teach you to cook some things other than âthin meatâ and âcubed chickenâ because that has to be a crime. I promise not to force you to every bafe tuesday [only some], and to help you study when you need it. Thereâs more, but Iâm sure weâll cross those bridges when we come to them. I canât wait to take the next step in our friendship, even if our landlords are trash. Weâll manage. [AND I CANâT WAIT TO SEE THE JONAS BROTHERS WHAT THE HECK]
The song that I chose for you may be surprising, because it is not a Sena song. I picked Electric Avenue, because of that one Cafe Campus tuesday that we went to. One of the first songs that came on that night that got us bopping was electric avenue [which I captured on video]. I just know that Iâll never be able to hear that song without thinking of you and that night, even if it ended with us running full speed in the wrong direction!Â
To Michael:
We all know how much I love you, but I guess Iâll try to scratch the surface with words. Not that your ego needs to be stroked any more than it already is, you are definitely one of the smartest people Iâve ever met. You somehow just know so many things and you are able to talk intelligently about virtually anything. I donât know why, but you seem like a completely different person now than from when I first met you. I still remember us wandering around together at RezFest, going back up for more samosas [eyeeeah], but to be completely honest I didnât think that we would really become friends. That day I kind of felt like I was a placeholder until you found the people who you actually wanted to be friends with, which sounds sad as I write it, but I was happy to be that. Much to my surprise, you stayed with me the whole day, and we hung out with almost everyone who would soon become the nest [first the deanâs list though hehe]. Iâm absolutely honoured to be your friend, and honoured that weâve shared so much with each other starting with beach day. Youâre passionate. Thatâs something that I really admire. Even if nobody wants to hear it sometimes, thereâs not a chance youâre shutting up about wave particle duality, and thatâs something I respect [even if sometimes it drives me crazy] about you. You donât give up easy either. Not getting into McGill didnât stop you from coming here [yes I had to bring it up hahahaha], and that mentality drives you, which I have mad respect for. The fact that you canât sing doesnât stop you from spewing nonsense about the circle of fifths [hehehe right @Arvind?]. In all seriousness, you are more than aware that you mean so much to me, and I appreciate that you standby for my moments of existential crisis. You donât give up on me even when I act insane and I am very thankful for that, because lots of friends would take a step back, but you persist. Your sarcasm and sass makes me laugh like no other. I know youâll never stop making fun of me for knowing so much about astrology, but thatâs so libra of you. Try not to be as much of a doormat living with Arvind as you were living with Grant [yes, you were a doormat, even at the end], although Iâm sure Arvind wonât try to see how high he can pile his clothes, so youâre already ahead of the game. Oh I almost forgot! Thank you for helping me in my pescatarian adventures. Having someone else so close to me live the same lifestyle really helped me out, especially every time Arvind ordered chicken wings. Along the same lines, thanks for always backing me up on my environmental speeches to not only the nest, but in council too. Just like I said with everyone else, I canât wait to make even more memories with you, and I hope that youâre in my life for a long long time, because I donât know what I would do without you!
No surprises here, the song that reminds me of you is The Chain, although this might as well be any Fleetwood Mac song. This is unrelated but just so you know, my gramma just said âthereâs chippyâ as a chipmunk ran around the backyard and I thought that that was an odd coincidence. But yes, listen to the wind blow [insert incredible bass line].Â
To Anna:
My dear sweet Anna. Iâm not crying youâre crying!! You have kept my life interesting from literally the moment I met you. Please go back and read one of my first posts from the first night when you went on about your boy troubles, what a night. From that moment on youâve filled my life with so many interesting and emotional moments. I think that everyone remembers the night that you said that this friendship probably wonât even last a month, and look at us now baby. We all have gone through so much this year as a group, and I know that a lot of that had a huge impact on you. You may be small, but by god are you tough girl. The amount of bullshit that you have gone through this year is remarkable, but youâve never given up on any of us. You and I have gone through our fair share of trouble, but never once did I question that we would resolve whatever it was and be stronger than ever. We both confront problems the same way, so that means that whatever the problem is, it will be solved in record breaking time. Youâre the one person who I always go to with the hot gossip and I feel like we could actually talk for hours about nothing. But for real back to the toughness thing, you endure so much. Youâre very independent by nature, but it always surprises me that you are able to stay alone so far away from everyone. You have done so much for me this year and I doubt you even know it. I feel like you always understand whatever it is that Iâm going through better than anyone else. I wonât forget the time in my room that we literally just read each other our poetry and cried on each others shoulders. You can sniff out when Iâm upset and youâre so good at comforting me and making me feel loved. Okay I was joking before, but I seriously am crying now. It was so hard for me to leave your room particularly because I feel like I was safest to be myself in there. We spent so much time in 503 that it was my home away from home. You also always gas me up?? Like thank you girl because you know that sometimes I need that validation! I always trust you for that fashion advice because you shop so much that you must know what looks good by now [hehehe]. For real though, youâre so incredibly beautiful inside and out and Iâm so proud to call you my friend. Youâre simultaneously like my daughter, sister, sometimes my mom and always my best friend and thatâs quite remarkable Iâd say. Stop doubting how smart you are! You are doing great just where you are, youâre meant to do this, donât let anyone tell you different. Youâre strong. I literally can not wait to share every single little thing with you the moment it happens, so if you donât mind, I would love to do just that for a long long time.Â
My song for you is one from our girl dodie, itâs Human. Every time I hear this song it brings me back to the two of us sitting in your room just feeling the feels. The lyrics are true. Paint me in trust, Iâll be your best friend. Love you so much my tiny little friend.Â
Okay that concludes the sappy letters to my best friends. Iâm sure youâre tired of reading at this point, and Iâm tired of writing, so to finish off this blog post I thought I would let a video fill in the blanks. For those of you who donât know, I have been taking a one second video every day since October of 2017. This has turned into an amazing way for me to look back on the memories made throughout the years. So here is my collection of one seconds for my year in Montreal, starting with move in day!
youtube
Thank you for keeping up with me this year, even though I totally slacked on writing these posts. Long story short, Iâm absolutely in love with Montreal, and with McGill. So thank you for caring and staying tuned for the Thrilla in McGilla, catch ya next year!

TDR Charm School 4 Final Exam - It's the Final Countdown
For the final exam, our students had to produce a mock audition filled with everything theyâve learned from the beginning of their time in Tumblrâs Drag Race Charm School 4, decked out in their fabulous Personalized Prom and Why You Gotta Be So Extra-curricular looks. Letâs see how they did!
Kushboo
Personalized Prom
Extracurricular Activity: Student Government
Letha:Â Hey Girl! So starting with the Prom look, I quite like it! The combo of the black/gold really goes well together, and the brown hair works with it as well. I will say the dress is a bit short and it should either be lengthened or shortened to have a silhouette that makes a bit more sense. The white heels throw off the outfit a bit as well. The styling of the hair could be neater but the height/volume is definitely there! I think if there was a little headpiece or gold crown or something it might add more interest to that area and tie it in with the outfit. On to the extra curricular look, I do very much get that feel from the top half of the outfit, including the hair (very Michelle Obama), and the skirt is a bit more out there which helps to make it less pedestrian in that regard. I think having maybe some signs or other props might have helped sell it more as well, as the journal is okay but not the most effective. For the lipsync, I think you had good presence and sold the song, but I wish you had connected more with the audience throughout through the lens. Performing on camera is a bit different than real life, in that looking into the lens is how you connect with people. You can deviate from that and emote/focus on other areas for a little bit, but you should always try to return to the lens. But the overlay and emoting is great! For the monologue I must admit I was a bit lost. I wasn't too familiar with Tennyson if I'm honest, but after reading up a bit on Ulysses this was a very interesting choice indeed. I think you could have sold it a bit more? Emoting frustration and discontent might have made it a bit more clear, in my opinion. Finally, the makeup! I think you really have improved throughout this cycle and it does show, but there are things that I think you could work on. One would be to make your lips more dimensional, with either outlining in a darker color, highlighting the center with a lighter color, or both. Same for the brows, the shape on the prom look is fun but a bit static, and the shape on the government look is very flat and not a shape that would be easy to emote through. I like the colors your picked on their own, but I'm not sure if they coordinate with your outfit choices, so keep that in mind for next time. Your lashes are looking better placed, now would be a good time to start practicing doing liner, either a really sharp wing of or a smoked out pencil. It really adds dimension and helps to restructure things. I think that just about wraps it up for me, so I'll leave you with saying how proud I am of your progress and can't wait to see what your Drag will evolve to after charm school!
Laveau:Â KUSH. This prom look is AMAZING. You look amazing! I love the entire package. The only thing I would have liked to see is more jewelry. May be a bracelet or a bigger necklace to give it a more elegant touch. I am enjoying this beehive on your head. Itâs a bit messy, so going forward, be careful and pay attention to the little details as far as that is concerned. While your makeup has improved, you still have work to do, but donât let that stop you from being proud of your progress so far. As for your student government look, I feel like you were going for the right idea but then you lost me with the skirt. It just feels like you either didnât have a pencil skirt or just wanted to add an unconventional element to the look and it kind of takes away from the look as a whole. A better way to sell this concept would have been to incorporate more school supplies in the rest of the outfit. A fascinator made out of pencils or paper balls would have tied the look together a bit more. I really enjoyed your lip-sync! I appreciate the attitude and range of emotion throughout your performance. It was definitely fun to watch! Your monologue was well done. It was a bit hard to follow, but I do appreciate the concept. You have grown leaps and bounds in this competition. I am so proud of you and I canât wait to see what you do in the future! <3
Sally:Â Hi Kushboo! Iâm gonna talk about your outfits first, and then your audition reel. There are really intelligent attempts at work here, and Iâm impressed with most elements, however there are some things to look out for next time. Both outfits seem to have flair about them that works super well, but technical issues seem to produce problems for me. Your prom look is stellar â the black and gold colour clash is really appealing, I get prom from this clearly and your character to me defines elegance so it wouldnât be wrong to see Kushboo rock up to prom in eleganza like this. Remember to give us head to toe camera angles â these are close to head to toe, but I canât see you feet until I watch your audition reel so I donât know if youâre not wearing heels or not and if they correspond to your dress too â I donât think they do correspond, but weâll let it slide. Your exposure on the first picture with the light makes you look really heavenly but the second one diminishes details that I can see with the exposure. Your student government look is super cute; you look like youâre running for like Junior Councillor for the Head of a school, but the flair of having an unconventional skirt with resist propaganda on is a really smart touch. I wouldnât have mind if your entire jacket had it too, or if the colours matched up better, i.e. writing with bright red / grey on black paper perhaps. Again, careful of your angles, I wanna see your shoes in your pictures next time and I donât care if youâre wearing little biscuit heels or jelly flip flops! In your audition, it was quite long and I can see room for small technical touches here and there. For example, Iâve noticed you use fillers (um and erm) â with that you could cut out those and any pauses you too, that way your point comes across quicker and your train of thought is clearer through the edit. Remember to nail your runway in 15 seconds â itâs better to edit out your walk to your starting point rather than have it within your audition, and try to have your full body in the frame so that we can see the entirety of your costume move too. Â All in all, youâve excelled really well in your knowledge of yourself and progressing your drag character throughout charm school. Iâm really proud to see your journey continue to this point. Great job!Â
Toni:Â KUSHHHHHHHHHHHHHIm going to be doing this by segments so lets start with your outfits! I really love your prom look because I think based on what you've shown us it really does reflect your personal style. It's giving me Cinderllas stepsisters from into the woods and I really enjoy that. I think if there were a lot of stones added to the outfit as well as having the hair cleaned up a bit more and look more sleek it would be a perfect look In my opinion. The student government look I am really conflicted about. I get what you're trying to go for but I think if you wanted to do that you should have done all NONCON or all cloth just because theres a huge disconnect between the top and the bottom. I also think if you had done a suit or a jacket as well that would have been fierce. Your lipsync was SO GOOD I really enjoyed watching it and I think you kept it interesting through the whole thing so props on that. I would love to see you push the energy up thought to make it AMAZING. For your monologue the background noise was a large distraction but I do really enjoy what you produced, I think there were a few awkward pauses and I can't tell if you meant them to be there or if you were trying to remember lines but they need to be not there. I am so proud of everything you have done and how much you have grown <3
Dotte:Â I am absolutely LIVING for your prom look! I wish the other concept you had was better realized. A lot of the focal point is on the skirt and it doesn't really match the rest of the outfit. Ahhhhhh your lipsync was so cute though I feel like you've shown massive amounts of improvement there. Like we talked about, it's important to know what to do when there isn't any music playing and I'm glad to see you've figured that out. And I like this camera setting you have! It really allows for us to see your face really well! I'm so proud of you! Cycle 10 will be here sooner than you think and I can't wait to see what you do in the time between then and now!
Marcella:Â Ok Kushboo, this was a colossally long video, and it didnât have to be. Itâs important to plan your answers, and use things like jump cuts if youâre stalling a lot. That said, I think your responses were spot on for you and you have a good sense of self-perspective. I loved your prom look, and I felt your make-up for it was your best yet. Now for the lipsync â good choice, great job of articulating the unusual sounds in the song, and decent job of occupying the space and keeping it interesting. Between now and c10, I want you to work on your finesse. Your ideas and the aesthetic youâre going for are solid, but I want you to really focus in on details, and executing things as flawlessly as you possibly can, because honestly I think that is your biggest weakness as of now. I know you have it in you to polish up! Good luck for c10!
Harper:Â Whew, this was a long video! I think something that works for you is that you are very authentic and earnest, and that really comes through when you are speaking. I'd agree with some of the other judges that you could stand to edit out some of this (and film in horizontal next time, please), because while I think you did a fine job answering questions, it was a little dry in some spots. Try to be concise, personable, and minimize the sniffing! I liked your prom outfit, and I think it's very true to your aesthetic. I would like to see you wear a corset with a bit more structure to give you a smooth silhouette, and I will pass on to you the same critique that I'm sending to everyone tonight: LASHES. BIG ONES. I think you have a tendency to have really good ideas that just fall a little short on execution, and that's something you can really work towards in the future. I thought you did a nice job with the monologue and the lip sync, and this was overall a good final submission for you. Can't wait to see how you continue to progress, best of luck!

Extracurricular Activity: Athletics
Letha: Hey Luna! First off, well edited video. Everything is clear and labeled which certainly helps. On to the actual content, starting with the prom look. I love it from head to toe. The hair is very effortless but it works for me, the crown adds a nice touch of shine, and the black and red color scheme is gorgeous. I wish there were some nails though. For the makeup on the prom look, overall it's really good, love the red lip, my main critique would be to try for a harsher cheek contour, as the one you have now is very light and gets washed out easily when seen from a distance. For the sports look I really enjoy the boxing idea, and you really committed to it! The outfit and hair choices make sense. That being said, the end result is maybe a bit too totally masculine for me. I think if the shape was a bit more feminine with boobs/pads it might come across better. Also the flats make SENSE but I just think doing a black pump with a red leg warmer would be a bit more drag than a sneaker, ya know? The makeup here isn't bad either, a bit subtle though. The blood works but I think some more  Sfx makeup would have sold it a bit more. On to the performances! The monologue. Girl. Gretchen's Crack has a long and infamous tdr history for being quite overdone, so I was surprised to see it done again. That being said, it was okay, there have certainly been worse renditions of it. Now the lipsync is where you really shone, in my opinion. I was thoroughly entertained and you really pulled every stunt/trick out of the bag. The song was a classic and you had your words down, so props to you! I'm so proud of the work you've put into this cycle and can't wait to see where your drag takes you next!
Laveau: Luna! I see you are here to knock out the competition! One of the things I appreciate most about you and your drag is the attention to detail and how you package your content. I love the cohesive color scheme and how you tied everything together. I absolutely love your after school look. The oversized robe, the realistic blood, the attitude, but I feel like it lacks a certain drag flare. If you are to continue on to TDR C10, one thing that will set your submissions apart from the competition is adding a little bit of razzle dazzle (see: glitter/rhinestones/sparkles). I feel the same way about your personalized prom look. While itâs absolutely gorgeous and screams Luna, it leaves me wanting more. I feel like jewelry and/or rhinestones could have amplified this look to its full potential. Your monologue was HILARIOUS. Idk if you were going for an even more crazed/deranged version of Gretchen Weiners, but you nailed it. But girlâŠthis lip-sync⊠IS HOW YOU LIPSYNC FOR THE CROWN! That is how you fill an instrumental break!!! There was never a dull moment and for that, I thank you. Overall, I think you have shown fantastic growth as a queen throughout charm school and I canât wait to see what you do in the future! <3 Win, lose, or draw, youâre already a winner in my heart. <3Â
Sally:Â Hello Luna! I am gonna start off by critiquing your outfits and then your audition. Your outfits overall were not what I was expecting coming from your amazing turnout for costuming week with these themes, I was a tad let down by some choices, but others brought it back up. You look adorable in your prom look, albeit looking a tad costume-y. Your styling is super cute and from head to toe the concept works well with your aesthetic. While your nose is looking pinched and proper, Iâm losing definition around the cheeks â itâs probably just a personal thing for me, but if you could practice adding a flush of colour to the cheeks â a blush or a darker contour tone might bring out some definition there too. Â For your athletic wear, I like some elements, and others just throw this off. Those shorts are hurting my soul so much, because of the cut of them, and I wouldâve preferred you in an actual bra than compression bra, because I am losing proportions. When you get a concept like Athletics, it is hard to get out of the idea that you have to pertain to the standard â wearing tennis skirts for tennis, going for a realness factor. When you get an assignment, you should always question how you can make it draggier. Rhinestone your gloves, make your robe have a crazy train, little things like that can amplify your concepts, and surpass your progression from past weeks.Your audition was really well constructed, and I enjoyed watching it. Your runways were concise, quick and simple, You had your flow down to a T and you moved really elegantly. You have such a strong camera presence and I was really surprised that I could still hear you over your music in the monologue section (be mindful if your overlay music is loud, turn it down if you can!) All in all, youâve really defined yourself as a strong competitor consistently, and even when you had your lows, you managed to improve on yourself for a comeback each week. Great job!!
Toni:Â I plan on doing this by segments so lets start with your outfits! I really love your boxing out fit! When you first suggested it to me I was worried ti wouldn't come off as drag but it really does. i think the hair choice was really smart and I love the look head to toe. Looking in on the makeup its clear how much you've grown in charm school, I think a few minor things could be adjusted like the placement/angle of your brows could be changed to look a bit lower and I really would have loved to seen the same red lipstick you used in your prom look but a bit smeared to add the "i've been fighting" feel to it. Onto the prom look I really love this on you!! It reads as fun and girly but still lowkey badasss. I think the only thing I would change at all about this look is adding a few black stones onto the bodice just to add a little something extra. YOUR LIPSYNC WAS AMAZING! I really enjoyed what you did because there wasn't really a moment where I was bored or distracted away from it because you kept every bit fresh and new. I think the air guitar into a slipt was honestly amazing, and I love that you paired your lipsync up with a look because it really helped to sell the performance. Now onto your monologue.... I hate this monologue (not because you did it but like as a piece) and every cycle someone does it and thinks it's a good piece but there are better pieces you could have picked IMO. That being said I think it was a really good rendition of the piece but I did find the music very distracting to the point where I was unable to focus on you so in the future please make sure the music sin't too loud. My favorite thing to come form your Q&A was how you talked about not wanting to win jsut for yourself but so that you can fight on cycle 10 for the chance to lead and help build the community because thats a huge factor in what judges look for on cycles when planning to crown someone is "how will they do in the leadership role". You did an amazing job and I am so proud of everything you have done over the past few weeks <3
Marcella:Â Your video felt like a real tdr audition to me. Sectioning each part off, having slides for your questions, these sorts of things might seem insignificant but, to me, they show that youâve acquired a degree of polish during charm school that I appreciate very much. I enjoyed your monologue, and your lipsync was thoroughly entertaining! I loved the splits and the leg guitar, and the energy was just so right. Look-wise, your sports drag was very unexpected, but I do feel it could have been dragged up some more. It felt a bit âboyâ, especially when you were moving around for the performance. I know the shoes were fitting, but girl donât let me see flats again, k? Between now and c10, I want you to experiment. Especially make-up wise: try lighter make-up, try different eye shapes, polish up that nose contour. See what happens when you twist and turn the basic silhouette of Luna and adapt her to different ideas and scenarios. Best of luck for c10!
Harper:Â Overall, I think you had the strongest submission this week. I thought both of your looks were distinctly you and well put together, my only critiques were that the prom dress was a bit Halloween Store and the extracurricular could have been a bit more femme. I really recommend getting some fake chicken cutlet titties! It wouldn't have been much, but just a little bit of curve and some Rachel-Green-From-Friends-Nipples could really make it read just a bit more feminine. Overall, I think your makeup is strong, but I'd like to see you in big lashes and with a bit more contrast. There's nothing wrong with using stark black, it's just learning how to incorporate that black with appropriate shades and highlights for the full effect. I would like to see you choose a different monologue for the real audition because, in my opinion, this one was a bit played out, but you did a nice job with it. Overall, though, I think your lip sync was the highlight of your submission. The song and the look worked together, and the routine was perfect for your tough-girl character. I lived for it! I know there's a lot of pressure coming into a competition where you might be held to a higher standard because you are starting at a more advanced place, but I think you did a great job of trying new things and refining your skills. Looking forward to seeing what you pull out for your actual audition because if this is any indication it will be great!

Personalized Prom

Letha:Â Hey girl! So starting with the outfits, I think the theater one is very cute, and it being shorter helps you get away with the shape not being the most flattering. That being said, I do like it. The prom dress is okay, a bit pedestrian/run of the mill, but the hair and flower crown help to make it a bit less conventional. My makeup notes for both looks are similar. Lashes are a must, work on blending the shadow on the eyes so there isn't a stark line, clean up contour lines on the cheeks, and better overdraw/define on the lips. I really enjoy the liner shape on both though! For the monologue, I had to google what it was about and having done that, I would say that the lines don't quite match up to the monologue, but it's not bad, you were just quiet and not really emoting as much as I think you could have. For the lipsync, you had some definite choreography and I quite liked the performance. It was a bit hard to see your sync at some points, as the lighting wasn't the best, so watch out for that in the future. Overall you should be very proud of the work you've done here in Charm School, and I can't wait to see where your drag goes from here!
Laveau:Â Marina: Your prom look is stunning but it looks like you grabbed a wig and a dress, pout them on and called it a day. Your makeup has improved for sure, but still lacks a certain element of refinement for drag. I love your after school look. Itâs giving me Columbia from Rocky and I liiiiive. Would have liked to see some jewelry, but the outfit itself is cute. Your lipsync was very entertaining. I loved the emotion and dancing throughout the performance. I just wish you would have filmed in landscape so we could have seen the full frame. Â Your mologue was good as well, It was just pretty hard to hear you throughout it. You come so close to nailing it, but I feel like attention to detail is holding you back. You say that procrastination is holding you back, so now that you know that about yourself youâve got to work hard to overcome that in order to succeed if you continue on with TDR. Make a list of things from head to toe/start to finish that you need to prepare for your submissions and systematically check them off the list in a timely manner. I see the potential in your drag, but it feels like you keep missing the mark. Congratulations on all of your growth this semester, and I canât wait to see what you do in the future <3
Sally:Â Hey, Marina! I will talk about your outfits, then your audition reel second. Both of your outfit choices really reflect you as a person, and I applaud you for that, however some elements can be added to produce a full effect. Your prom look teeters on being a bog standard dress - I can kind of see this at a prom, but not really. I see this being more of a forest nymph than personalised prom. I wouldâve preferred a longer cut on your dress, so maybe you couldâve added more length to it with an underskirt perhaps and added a few embellishments to really drag up the dress. The colour story is great - remember to take pictures of your feet within the shots too because I canât see your heels in either of your shots in your submission and your audition with this concept, therefore I donât even know if youâre wearing heels. Your drama club look is so fun and I love it honestly - really cute, playful, I get drama from it instantly. The colours pop and itâs exciting. I wouldâve loved to see some sort of prop with this to sell it more, maybe one of those drama masks on a stick and you just throw it on your runway, mightâve excelled this more. Your audition is a kind of toss up. Remember to find your light, use a flashlight on a phone from far aback if need be, because some of your shots are really, really dark. You come across as quite shy, remember that youâre only talking to a camera and whoeverâs on the other side wants to see you to the fullest, so when you film, remind yourself to be true to you to the fullest. Your runways are quite quick, take your time and make sure to film in an area that you can see your entire body clearly, your second runway seems to be a bit darker and a bit off-centre. All in all, you have improved a hell of a lot since the start of this competition, youâve really proved to yourself that you can achieve a lot when youâre against all odds and I applaud your hard work. Great work!
Harper:Â I was getting serious Joan Cusack vibes from you this week and I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. You are so young and have so much potential, but I'm going to be real with you for a second: you've had excuses every single week and they are going to cost you opportunities. point blank. I know that's hard to hear, but it's something that I've had to learn as well as someone who also struggles with time management issues. Moving on, I thought both costumes suited you and the wigs you paired them with, but I would have liked to have seen more pizzazz with your prom look! It just came off a little flat when your extra curricular look was was so fun. Your makeup has definitely come a long way, and I think you have really gotten the hang of what shapes suit your face. I think the next steps moving forward for you are going to be to clean up your lines and add a lash. Please. Lashes will be what takes your look to the next level! As female drag queens, we have to work twice as hard to be taken seriously, and that means really owning the transformation: padding, contouring, cinching, wigs, and lashes because if any part of the "real girl" underneath peaks through people WILL call you out for it. It's not fair, it's frustrating, but it is what it is. I think the lip sync and monologue were both good choices for you aesthetically, but PLEASE film in landscape mode! It really does make a big difference. I think you have grown a tremendous amount through charm school, and I really hope you stick with it. Good luck!

Extracurricular Activity: Science Club
Letha: Girllll you know I love me some flowers so you had me with your prom look. I love the contrast of the stark (yet also muted) colors with the white. I think there could have been a bit more shape in the waist considering this length, but it's still very striking. I'm also not totally sure about the black shoes (I know shoes can be a bitch to find though, so forgiven). The makeup is great as an idea and I can see the direction it was taking, just work on cleaning up your lines to get that graphic style. I really do love this look though, the head piece is great. For the science look, it's honestly so fun. The shape is very much The Jetsons, and I love the transition of the appliquĂ©s from the outfit to the skin. I think a trim along the bottom of the dress would have helped clean up the lines, and I think maybe another color besides the white and purple would have added more interest, maybe a green? The hair is a bit of a nest but I think that was the intent so I can get behind that. The shapes on the makeup are interesting, but they just need to be defined/shaded/highlighted more to be believable and trick the eye. Also lashes are a must. For the monologue I was a bit lost, it seemed you were a bit stiff maybe? I'm not the most familiar with the material you pulled from, but it wasn't my favorite. The lipsync was great, as I expected, but check the overlay because it was off by quite a bit when you uploaded it. Still really good though! Overall, you have really outdone yourself, and looking back on week one you can see how far you've come. I'm so proud of you for that, and I hope you're proud of yourself as well!Â
Laveau: Miss WatersâŠ.I was so in love with your prom look until I got to the shoes. That being said, itâs obvious how much work went into making this look and you did a fantastic job. I wish the dress gave you more of a shape but that could be fixed with either larger padding or by cinching the garment a bit more at the waist. Your science look is KILLER. I love the concept and how you sold it. You look like a science experiment gone RIGHT. The hair and makeup could use a bit of refinement, but I absolutely love your concepts and style of drag. Your monologue was a bit monotone, so I would, in the future, work on changing inflection so that you can show a bigger range of emotion in acting challenges. On to the lip-sync. I love that I could feel the passion in your lipsync. This is the range of emotion Iâm talking about. Bring that to your acting. Congratulations on a wonderful semester and I canât wait to see what you do in the future! <3Â
Sally:Â Hey Ophelia! As per usual, Iâm gonna give you my thoughts on the outfits and then your audition. Overall, your outfits are bold choices, but are a little rough around the edges. Iâll start by talking about your personalised prom, because it is extremely eye-catching. This is clearly Ophelia to the fullest and Iâm seeing a strong aesthetic with what you enjoy in drag and how you produce your concepts in execution. Itâs exciting, the colours youâve chosen pop off the whites youâve used in your scheme, and the clash of materials is exciting to look at. I would only say that the length of your gown doesnât hit the floor, therefore exposes your black shoes. You couldâve added more fabric and flowers to the bottom, or even used socks and hot glued flowers onto the socks, putting them over your heels to make them correspond to your concept. For your science look, this is feeling a little bit rougher around the edges. I love that your silhouette is the shape of a science beaker and that your hair is frazzled like that of an experiment gone wrong, your purple scheme pops from the white again, and your choices in costume creation are so smart, but be careful with your makeup. I think a good example to look at for creative makeups like this for science is the partial face cover. Adrena Lin did this in Cycle 8 for the Pokepaint challenge using Muk, I think your normal face couldâve worked more than the scary-sludge lip youâve done too.Your audition is super cute! Your camera presence is clearly strong, I feel like you know itâs a camera and not several people watching you on the other end which is a great attribute to have. You came across as quite awkward in your runway, make sure to just go with the flow when you walk, present yourself however you feel suited, and remember, take several takes if you have to! All in all, youâve excelled into dragdom through this entire process and Iâm really proud to see how well youâve done throughout all of the weeks. Excellent work!
Toni:Â I'm going to be doing this by segments so lets start with your outfits! I think out fo the two the science one is my favorite. It has appliques and I am a slut for that, i love how the hair is styled and I think it's really fun but in a new way for you. I also want to point out the gloves because those are super cute. The makeup for that is really nice!! I would have just liked to see the eyes blended out so it was fading into the skin tone or if you had done like full black soot smokey eye to kinda match your hair. The prom look i really love too! the flowers are beautiful. I think it does lack a little shape but if you added a belt to it that could help the shape a lot. I also think if you had added a few stones among the flowers that just slightly catch the light that would have been cute too. The makeup for this one is the same as on the science one for me, just blend it a bit more so it doesn't look as harsh! onto your monologue it made almost no sense to me and I have literally no idea whats going on for it? I wish there was a bit of explanation in the video for it because I feel like it was kinda like a joke...that I just wasn't in on and for an audition or a show thats just...not good for the audience to not know whats going on. The lipsync was sadly off which i'm shocked to get from you because I know you know how to do that. Its hard to really judge the sync bc of that but I know you knew your words. I do wish there was an extra PUNCH of energy in this song. I think that would have really driven it home. I love that because of charm school you were able to find out more about your drag character and it's been so amazing to watch you grow these past few weeks!!! <3
Dotte:Â I wasn't expecting these looks from you at all! I love the ideas that you have going on here, but, as you said, attention to detail would be key here. One of my pet peeves is when someone's face is painted a color and their arms are bare. I'm not going to get into the lipsync missing it's sync but I'm really happy with the emotion you put into it. I hope you continue to experiment with different ways to lipsync and add complexity to your move-sets so it doesn't seem so "one-lineish." Hope you had fun on Charm School and thanks for playing!
Marcella:Â Ophelia, I was impressed with you this week. I felt you really pushed your costuming in particular, and both of your looks were super creative and pretty fierce. Your lipsync overlay was off :â[ but I could tell it was solid in spite of this. Great emotions as always, and good connection. I would love to have seen you inject a bit more drag flourish into your performance. You virtually HAVE to twirl when the beat kicks in, and I wish Iâd seen you stomp and dance around a bit more. Your answers were very insightful and I definitely understand your drag character more from hearing you discuss your journey. To work on in the run-up to c10, I want you to think about exactly how Ophelia does everything. How does she sit, how does she dance, how does she interpret things? Youâre onto a character, and I would love to see that character blossom and for you to fully embody her in every single aspect from head to toe. I wish you all the luck for c10!
Harper:Â I really liked the concept behind your looks, and I think both fit your character well. Something you touched on in your interview was the attention to detail, though, and I think that is definitely true for this week. I did not care for the fact that the body paint on your head and face didn't extend to your arms, and I feel as though you are relying on it again. It's fine to use the paint as a base, but the drag makeup should be good enough to stand on its own, and I feel that without the white it would not hold up. Take it a few steps further than what you are doing now, I know you are capable of it! I think that's also my critique for your lip sync. I'm going to hold you to a higher standard of the other girls because we share the lsfyl background, and mama... this overlay was very off. Don't be afraid to play with concepts for lip syncs in TDR like you did for LSFYL... most of the other girls are going into it doing really super basic lip syncs in dirty rooms and having a lsfyl background gives you a real opportunity to help yourself stand out in a positive way. I'm going to challenge you to think outside the box next time. I think the best part of this video is seeing how much more comfortable you are in front of the camera than you were when we met a few years ago. You seem so much more relaxed and personable and I'm really proud of you for that growth. Keep it up!

BTS WINGS TOUR JAKARTA FANACCOUNT
Iâm sorry for neglecting my page for so long but this time I want to share this because I'm so happy that I want to write it all so I don't forget x'D I probably miss a lot of things, so there might be different things happening than those that are recorded and posted on net. I can't remember all, but ALL THE EFFORT I PUT. ALL THE THINGS. IT'S ALL WORTH IT. NOTHING IS WASTED. IF THEY MAKE A CONCERT AGAIN, I WILL DEFINITELY WATCH IT.
Okay, so first I'm gonna call out on the promotor. They're kinda shitty :( A lot of mistakes and a lot of unclear things happened :( I hate that they don't even clear up the lining. We ARMYs are neat and civil but they kept telling us to stop pushing and running but there's actually no clear information from the start :"( A lot of (almost all) of the ARMYs were disappointed with the promotor's service.
BUT AT LEAST THE CONCERT WAS WORTH IT.
I came with my friend and we both got Sound Check benefit. IT WAS GREAT. AWESOME. MAGNIFICENT.
Imagine a place that can hold 15.000 people. In a section where there should be 3.000 people. Only 500 was selected. Only about 450 got in (poor 50 people :"( blame the promotor). IT FEELS LIKE AN EXCLUSIVE CONCERT. They were all very relaxed. And actually they seemed kinda tired but they still smiled for us :")
The moment we got in, we're greeted with someone saying "Selamat siang, tidak usah dorong-dorong ya," [Good afternoon, please don't push each other, okay? --- in Bahasa Indonesia]. I thought they must have brought a translator, but it turned out that NAMJOON was the one saying that. Let me tell you that the sentence wasn't something you pick from a book. It's conversational language. THEY MUST HAVE REALLY STUDIED INSTEAD OF JUST GOOGLED OMG I LOOOOOVE THEM SO MUCH.Â
THEY WERE ALL BAREFACED, IN CASUAL CLOTHING, AND WERE COMPLETELY STUNNING. OMG. YOONGI EVEN LOOKED SLEEPY AF AND TAEHYUNG WORE HIS USUAL LOOSE OUTFIT BUT THEY ALL LOOK SO DAMN H A N D S O M E .
The camera catch them close up and their bareface wasn't smooth x'D They have acnes and such but they're STILL BEAUTIFUL WTF AAAH. I CANT WITH THEM. But there's strictly no camera allowed at the soundcheck so you probably can't find the footage everywhere :")Â
Tbh it made it feel so much more special because ONLY US got to see them like that x'D GOSH IT'S WORTH IT.
Jimin wore sunglasses and I wanted to laugh so much because he looked so ridiculous bc the venue was very dark and he wore sunglasses like why bro x"D I know he was probably insecure about his bareface but still, it looked funny to us because the sunglass was very big and square that it's flooding his face x'D he looks cute tho.
Then some of them started talking in Korean. The mic wasn't that loud yet that time, so between the screams we couldn't really hear what they were saying. (I couldn't catch anything) But they murmured things here and there. And since none of us understood, we just kept screaming x'D
They played Baepsae first. They just stood and walked around without dancing it xD They went around everywhere and say told us to sing. I really liked it. The fans were SO HYPE. They kept NOT SINGING AND GAVE US THE MIC AHAHAHAH. Taehyung gave us the mic and HIS EXPRESSION when we sang along was sooooooo proud and smug like "Oh yeah, that's my ARMY~" OMG I'M SO PROUD TO BE AN ARMY.Â
Then they got to Dope, and they still didn't dance. xD Jin moved as if he wanted to dance but the others didn't so he just fidgeted around SO CUTEEEE.
DOPE WAS DOPE AF WHEN HEARD LIVE. JUNGKOOK'S VOICE WAS SO AMAZING. I CAN'T. Â
But they were worse than when in Baepsae x"D They didn't even sing that much because they kept telling us to do it. And daaaaaamn they were so happy we did. Gosh it's the best thing <3
And then they performed 21st Century Girl. This time they danced it. XDDD I really liked it, they clearly told us to have fun and WE DID. The song was really fun to scream into and THEIR DANCE IS EVEN MORE PROMINENT LIVE. I got to see Taehyung's dance style and it's true that he really does dance ANYWAY HE WANTS. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH OMG.Â
In between the songs, the members talked Korean in which we didn't understand. We kinda hoped Namjoon would translate but he was blissfully ignoring the others like okay mon, okay :") We only understand when Hoseok said "Next song~!" to indicate the next song :")Â
I HOPE I UNDERSTAND KOREAN GOSH
After 21st Century Girl, Hoseok told us, "See you next song," but then they left and we were ushered outside :") such a tease. I forgot when in the checksound this happened but.
TAEHYUNG NOTICED ME. He went to the side stage and crouched, and then SMILED THEN CLOSED ONE EYE AND SHOOT A FINGER GUN TO US OMG. I'M DEAD. MY BIAS NOTICED ME MY LIFE IS COMPLETE.Â
Jimin also teased us. He crouched and pushed down his sunglass a bit and WINKED AT US HOW DARE HIM. BLESS HIS PURE SOUL. Jungkook played around and bouncing all the time omg such bunny. Seokjin and Hoseok played around with each other A LOT X'D it was really cute. Seokjin even MADE POUTY-KISSY FACE in which the others made fun of but he was like "Whatever imma do what I like" X'DDD
Yoongi was so inactive, like he was still sleeping and would appreciate it if he could be back asleep lol THE LAZY IS REAL. Namjoon was being really chill too but he was smiling a lot and HIS DIMPLE OMG IT'S EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL REAL LIFE AAAH.
Okay the soundcheck part is ending. Then we had to wait outside while they rehearse and practice again :") We literally could hear the music from outside and their voice when they were training. Such hardworker, such love put for us :") They practiced Cypher pt 4 a lot. Like a looooot. Since we first waited, they only practice other song for like once or twice on some song but they practiced Cypher pt 4 for like 5 times :") I'm so touched the rapline were working so hard for us.
Okay skip to the actual venue.
We got in at about 18.00 and they played the MV on big screens but in low voice xD We sang and chanted to it anyways because by now the ARMYs remembered the MV by heart so they all know when to sing what even when it wasn't audible lol. Then it switched to black and we all got impatient xDDD Then it went into safety explanation. I was so impressed that the ARMYs generally stayed quiet and paid attention, despite being so hyped just a moment earlier :") ARMYs are so good mannered I love them <3
After that Indonesia's National Anthem was playing. We all stood still and sang it even though no one told us to. X'D I was so impressed by this OMG. I secretly hoped that Bangtan would hear that and be proud that we sang it so beautifully :") I hope they came to know our national anthem as well.
THEN THE VCR VIDEO. I got all the videos jumbled so I didn't really remember but all the VCRs are about all the stories before Spring Day. On one moment it showed Seokjin holding a video camcorder, recording 7 bangtan lined up, but then zooming in to Jungkook close up in the middle, but when it zoomed out JUNGKOOK WAS ALONE QAQ It's like RUN but they were all just standing instead of partying and it was clear that JIN was the one recording them. What is this mystery again omg. They really liked to make us confused. At almost the end of the video, I could see the sillhouette of the members standing in white outfits and I screamed like "BANGTAN IS THERE!!!" and I think everybody realized and started screaming as well. xD
The first song was NOT TODAY and it was literally ON FIRE. They put on fire at the front stage and IT WAS REALLY HOT. I stood so close to the stage that I could feel the incredible heat OMG IT MADE THEIR STAGE FELT EVEN HOTTER. It was fun, we screamed along to "TODAY WE FIGHT" and I think they didn't expect it x'D
Then they played the same song as the rehearshal (Baepsae, Dope, 21st Century Girl). But this time they danced it all xD They looked SO COOL AND THEIR VOIZ DAYUM OMG OMG AND THEIR SWEAT AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH I COULD SEE THEIR SWEAT IN HIGH DEFINITION OMG IT'S A BLESSING.
Then at some point they stopped and greeted us xD
I forgot the order, but they all introduced themselves IN BAHASA INDONESIA. OMG. It was just "Halo," and their usual greetings but it was very sweet x'D As I said, they must have REALLY STUDIED because their language wasn't stiff, it's really almost slang, to be honest xD The last one to introduce was Hoseok, and he said, "Harapan, J-Hope" [Hope, J-Hope, it doesn't sound special in English but the way he pronounced it, the way he even KNOWS the word, that was so sweet and we SCREAMED SO MUCH] x'D
Then they performed Am I Wrong. And I forgot the rest and probably got the order mixed up but then they moved to the next stage performance. NEXT WAS SOLO PERFORMANCE.Â
VCR was shown before, but I couldn't remember much x'D The first to go was Jungkook. We all expected it since Begin was the first line up of the solo stage. He sang it in jazz-style, with beautiful dance and sparkly suit. He's so cool. I can see for myself his determination to be number one, his full intention towards making the song perfect. The backup dancers are cool too, and the stage was emotional it was beautiful :")
Next up is Lie, Jimin. We screamed so much when we realized the song. There is actually a beautiful transition between all the solos, but I kinda forget what this one was x'D I guess it was a little VCR and just getting the backup dancer ready. I know Jimin said he couldn't have sing this in live because the note is too high and the dance is difficult. Let me tell you that IT'S ALL LIE. Jimin SANG AND DANCED so BEAUTIFULLY. I mean it. His voice was like flowing water, so emotional and heartwrenching, and his dance was LIKE AIR ITSELF. It's really really really beautiful. He didn't sing the 'caught in a lie' part but he sang everything else and if anyone ever accuse him of lipsync FIGHT ME HIS VOIZ IS SERIOUSLY LIT. The backup dancer created echo around him and making the performance grand :") Then there's a moment where he PUT ON A BLINDFOLD AND CONTINUED DANCING OMG. We screamed so much because lfkasjdlfakjsldkfj reference to BST adkfjalksjdf. And then he removed it again but then he was being LIFTED while there was a CANDELABRA GOING DOWN OMG I swear Jimin is so extra. The stage ended soon after but it was really beautiful reallllly.
The next one is VCR and melody about Suga. It's like all of his best scene in previous videos, compiled. It's really emotional and aesthetic, moreover when we see that there's scenes of Yoongi playing piano with metronome on top of it, slipped in between his best scenes. The metronome remind me so much of Rap Monster's solo mixtape, Do You. And it was emphasized as the Yoongi scene ended, the metronome got bigger and became animated, playing as the back ground over and over. Then the violinist that had previously prepared themselves there got spotlight, and Yoongi appeared from the middle WITH A PIANO. It's a beautiful piano, brown and tiny, like the one he played in the video, like the description he got in the song, like the one he got his first love with :") He didn't play it and didn't even stay on the seat for long, but it's seriously so emotional and aesthetic. It's so heavy with story and emotion that I was almost suffocated. Suga is so INTENSE I can't.
After being heavy with Yoongi, the song switched to VCR of psychedelic butterfly. To be honest I think Hoseok's story is the most painful ones. The VCR showed distorted butterfly with a lot of changes, then J-hope in butterfly wings, which got distorted and broken. Then J-hope in short film setting, with brick wall behind him and a lot of "placebo" appearing and disappearing behind him. Okay so I CHECKED. There's a reason I used PSYCHEDELIC and the word PLACEBO appeared. Psychedelic means "Of, containing, generating, or reminiscent of drug-induced hallucination, distortions of perception, altered awareness, etc; (of graphics, etc) Having bright colours, abstract shapes, etc." and Placebo means "(medicine) a dummy medicine containing no active ingredients; an inert treatment" and additionally, Placebo Effect means "(pharmacology) The tendency of any medication or treatment, even an inert or ineffective one, to exhibit results simply because the recipient believes that it will work."
THIS IS A BIG REVELATION. Because we know that since I NEED U, J-Hope was so close to drugs. But the words PLACEBO itself just appeared on WINGS TOUR (or Iâm the only one being left behind lol). IMAGINE THE SIGNIFICANCE. ALL THE MEDICINE HE TOOK. ALL THE THINGS THAT HE THOUGHT MADE HIM CRAZY UNTIL HE EXPERIENCED THE PSYCHEDELIC IN SHORT FILM AND BLOOD SWEAT TEARS. THOSE ALL ARE INERT TREATMENT. THOSE DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE ANY EFFECT AT ALL. HE JUST BELIEVES THAT IT WORKS AND IT aCTUALLY WORKS. IMAGINE HOW FUCKED UP AND TWISTED THAT WAS.
IRONICALLY, his song is Mama, a serenade song for his mom who have raised him to be the Hoseok he is now. Isn't it strange? Of all the solos, Yoongi's and Hoseok's are probably the only two that got the least relevance to the story BUT. WHAT IF his mom itself is an illusion. What if all of his happy memory is just an illusion? JUST AN ALTERED PERCEPTION?? Isn't it strange that J-hope's the only one with cheery-themed song? The only thing I can imagine is that he's HIGH.
Okay so I didn't think about this at the concert lol. I just got the word placebo on my mind and looked it up when the concert was over. IT BLEW MY MIND :") His stage itself is AMAZING. It started with the dancers appearing on the center stage. They played around as if saying, "Where is Hoseok? Where will he appear?" It was cute af and adorable, and then suddenly Hoseok appeared between the dancers, and they placed white jacket and white cap to him xD it was cute. The performance is full of cheerful dance, and it's soooo cute, just as expected of J-hope. And while he danced, the screen portrayed his YOUNGER PICTURE. FROM HIS NEWBORN PHOTOS TO SCENES OF PREDEBUT JHOPE TO HIM UNTIL NOW. It was touching, and at some point he removed the white jacket to reveal sparkly jacket inside. It's cute, really, like he really wanted to put on a show. xD I really like it tbh.Â
When the performance ends, Lost started. The four vocals appeared in the center stage with casual red and white outfit combination. Lost was beautiful, I still prefer they sang House of Cards but honestly Lost is beautiful too :â)Â
Then they sang SAVE ME. There was a project that was distributed before the concert. It is to hold out a handbanner with part of SAVE ME lyrics, "In this pitch black darkness, you still shine this much" during SAVE ME. I was so proud that all the ARMYs did it very beautifully. That moment, I really think that all ARMYs are family, and that we really want to make Bangtan happy :") Because of the banner, I couldn't see much, but I knew the members were kind of distraught and touched. They were distracted when singing and dancing, and from my spot, I could even see Jimin looking at us (ME!!!! XD) holding our banner and covering his mouth, like he wanted to cry but couldn't. All the members looked around to see us all really holding the banner, it was so sweet :")
I forgot if they said something directly after the song, but I think they didn't. The song continued into medley of N.O, No More Dream, Boy in Luv, Danger, and RUN. Then, they performed I NEED U. In the medley, the members run around so much and we all sang and had fun xD
Then it's back to solo songs. There's VCR about Rap Monster, and the interesting thing is, aside than him between glasses and reflection, is the visual of him approached by whale, which is WHALIEN 52. GOSH WHAT IS THIS AGAIN. DOES THIS MEAN THAT NAMJOON'S ISSUE IS LONELINESS??? There were a lot of props going around, and there was three section of stage being lifted, with the rightmost containing a phone box littered with writings. I suspect it's either quotes from Catcher in the Rye or Demian, or even their own translated lyrics. It's beautiful, Namjoon appearing with the background screen showing night stars, so beautiful. His outfit is simple patterned white shirt and loose-taehyung style black pants x'D In Indonesia, his style is so similar with "remaja masjid" (mosque youth), so my friend and I got hysterical for awhile because he looked SO HANDSOME IN IT. In the instrumental interlude, we chanted "Kim Namjoon! Kim Namjoon! Kim Namjoon!" over and over and I swear I saw his expression was so at peace :") Namjoon is one of the member that receive fewer love than he deserved so I was SO PROUD that ARMYs show them that much love. Then, when Namjoon sang "I wish I could love myself" we all sang, "WE LOVE YOU", and at that moment I really wanna cry, it was so touching :") I think Namjoon wanted to cry too but he didn't, he finished the song and ENTERED THE PHONEBOOTH....
ONLY FOR THE UPLIFTED STAGE TO SHOW VANDALIZED ROLLING DOOR AND TAEHYUNG SINGING FROM INSIDE THE PHONEBOOTH. This once again emphasize the significance of Namjoon, Taehyung, and the phonebooth that connected them. There is no "Liar" writings like in the short film, but seriously, Bangtan's theory fucked me up.Â
Taehyung sang STIGMA so beautifully. It was so. BEAUTIFUL. I mean. His voice. I can't. It's so emotional live. IT'S SO DAMN SOULFUL I GOT MY SOUL SUCKED OKAY. I LITERALLY STOPPED SWINING MY ARMY BOMB AND JUST STARED AT HIM FOR THE DURATION OF THE SONG. Then he came out of the phone booth, down, towards the center AND SANG HIS HEART OUT. He's so concentrated I really love him so much :") Everytime the monologue appeared we SCREAMED SO MUCH OMG HE'S SO SEXY There's a stand mic appearing and he put the mic there and continued singing until the end. HIS HAND IS LITERAL SEXINESS OMG. But then a stupid thing happened x'D He came forward, leaving the stand mic in favor of stage gimmick, and went back, but then he HIT THE STAND MIC OMG TAE :") I CAN'T WITH YOU. But then he just acted like there was nothing happening and stayed cool, like, okay, bruh, scool x'D
Then the violinist came up again, and the phonebooth was removed. The stage came a little up, and I think there was VCR but I forgot. Then Seokjin came forward with AWAKE. It was beautiful. When he entered the chorus, there is five parts of the stage, with him in the middle being the lowest, while the others beside him rose higher, forming a wing, with the background screen as feathers and sky :") It's like a representation of flying, that even if he says he can't fly for real, but he flied in the stage, he's floating, he had wings :") It's probably also a satire to his song's implication, that he himself doesn't rise, but he let the others beside him rise up :"))) He's so sweet. I can't. AND HE'S SO HANDSOME OKAY ALSDKFJLAKSJDF
Then the rapper line came up with Cypher pt 4. It's really cool if not for the outfit x'D Namjoon wore sunglasses that really made him look like a lame nerd and he looked hilarious af. All of them wore thick colored oversized robe and Suga's was so large that it looked like pajamas x'D He looked like he was about to sleep here and there. But then at the chorus he SPRAYED OFF WATER TO US ALSKDJFLAWLKLSJRIU I GOT SUGA'S HOLY WATER OMG I'M BLESSED LAKJSDLFKJALSKDJF THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE. Okay I didn't get it, the water just reached the ones at the frontmost and I got back for better viewing pleasure but still x"D
Then VCR again. I think I omit a lot of things but okay x"D This VCR is the most beautiful thing here. Let me tell you. It is scenes of all the videos before but with proper storytelling and NARRATION. IN INDONESIAN. THE LANGUAGE IS BEAUTIFUL. LIKE. I AM SURE THAT IT WAS ACTUALLY TRANSLATED FROM KOREAN BUT IT'S SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL. TOP NOTCH TRANSLATION.Â
My friend recorded the whole thing and I'll put what I can get here :")
School, home, narrow street, sea Covering the young sky, in vain This dead end is an entryway to sinuous road Like the bloody stigma on your palm The piercing pain reaching your stretched wings Dreams rising high up Looking for a sea that can't be found The boy walks The boy with not one but seven hearts Seven beats and One step forward New perspective and One is Seven Running will get you hurt Againts the valley In the world full of temptation What will you find with closed eyes? When the curtain opens to crash the mirror Outside In, Inside Out The world coincides Intersection to all Two worlds one aside the other Keep colliding into one Now Seven boys is on their way Seven, but One Seven boys with One heart One boy with Seven hearts One and Seven, reflection of each other How much path should be passed before the boy can mature Road is another name for world Day and night, intersection and tunnel Road with a neverending intersection And always alone when you have to decide Crossing the corner And does this red flower of youth still bloom? Where does this dream lead to? Fear is another name for hope Tears is another way to smile The boy smiles He can smile if he's whole The boy keeps walking
(original Indonesian that I saw at the concert and rough translation that you probably will get when the DVD is released)
GOSH THIS EXPLAINS A LOT. alkdjflaksjdlkfjalskdjf seriously I wanted to cry. I know the tour VCR is made BEFORE Spring Day was out and ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL THAT THE LAST SENTENCE IS "The boy keeps walking" and the title of the next album is YOU NEVER WALK ALONE. It's so aflksjdlfkajlskdjf alksdj bangtaniswear.
Then they performed Outro: Wings. We're still in shock and in emotional roller coaster so we weren't as loud but we still screamed from the top of our lung :") At the instrumental break of the song, J-Hope told the members to dance x'D I didn't remember all but they either did sexy dance or ridiculous dance. Suga did his grandfather dance and Jin attempted proper dance (he didn't look like a disaster live HAHAHAHHA).
Then it's talk time. THEY ALL SPEAK IN INDONESIA LAKSDJFLAKJSDF I CAN'T. IT'S NOT EVEN FORMAL INDONESIA OR GENERAL PHRASES. WE ALL COULD TELL THAT THEY LEARNED TO SAY WHAT THEY SAID.
Okay I forgot a lot but here's what I remember:
V: Akhirnya malam ini sudah hampir selesai. * Kalian pasti berharap malam ini tidak pernah berakhir, kan? * Aku juga!! * Apakah kalian suka (konsernya)? * Aku sukaaaa!!! * Aku cinta kalian! [Finally this night comes to an end. You must have wanted this night to never end, right? Me too!! Do you like it (the concert)? I liiiikeee it!!! I love you!] * is for ARMYâs scream lol
Jin: Aku pernah ke Sulawesi tetapi.... A: HAAA??? Jin: Tetapi Jakarta juga indah! Aku cinta Jakarta! [I've been to Sulawesi but.... but Jakarta is beautiful as well! I love Jakarta!]
Suga: Karena kalian, kita bisa menampilkan Not Today PERTAMA KALI di Wings Tour Jakarta. Ini semua berkat kalian! Mantab! [Because of you guys, we can perform Not Today for the FIRST TIME in Wings Tour Jakarta. This is all because of you guys! Great!] When he said Mantab, it actually was a slang and it's kind of appropriate translation to the phrase he likes so much, kkaepjjang x'D We were so excited he knew our slang
RapMonster: Ini adalah Episode terakhir dari Tour kita. Dari Episode II: The Red Bullet, Episode I: Begins, dan sekarang, Episode III: Wings! Kita tidak bisa melakukannya tanpa kalian! [This is the last episode of our Tour. We can't do it without you!]
I forgot what Jimin, J-hope, and Jungkook said x'D but both Jimin and J-hope said something cute and Jungkook stuttered like he didn't really memorized his part (but succeed anyways) it was so cuteee.Â
Then Namjoon talked about the project, RM: Do you guys remember the small paper, the one you raise during Save Me? (he said it in English) A: YEAH! *some raised the banner JM: *sings that part i kkaman eodum sogeseo, neo neun ireohke bitnanikka A: *sings along geut soneul nae mireojwo Save Me Save Me, I need your love before I fall RM: It's very beautiful! We were very touched, it was very beautiful A: AAAAAAA RM: But sadly we've come to the last songs. (basically he praised our projects and said farewell)
Then they performed FIRE (cue real fire coming out again!!!) and then Boy Meets Evil. Boy Meets Evil was only performed for a short time, but JHope was dancing and wasn't rapping. He danced up to "too bad," and then the instrumental switched to Blood Sweat Tears and the venue EXPLODED. I think us Indonesian ARMYs still like this song SO MUCH xD They were SO SEXY LIVE ALKSDJFALKSJDF too bad Jimin didn't do his "accident" but then again they're already TOO SEXY I CAN'T. After that, they exited the stage, and the screen turned to WINGS LIVE TOUR text.
We were shouting for encore and of course, we got it after awhile xD They came out with Spring Day outfit, the oversized shirt and plain tshirt. They sang I NEED U and we all did our projects again xD The festival ones which are the nearest to the stage covered their lightstick with pink plastic bag, and the seating created the color of red and white, our national flag. We celebrated the one year anniversary of HYYH so we used pink x3 I could tell that they were touched as well x'3
And then they talked again, they basically told their farewell again and I thought they wanted to address the project but didn't know what to say (I don't think they know what it means but whatever x'D) And then they told us that it's really the last and at the end, they sang 2!3! and we all did our projects (again! We had 4 projects, honestly lol). We chanted "Saranghae!" instead of "Gwaenchana", and the real chant included sentences that answered Bangtan's doubt in that song, but we couldn't pronounce it well so I think Bangtan only recognized the "Saranghae" :"D I could tell, they were puzzled but I know they recognized the word saranghae. Then we kept singing even at the end of the song, even when the light dimmed and they got ready for Spring Day formation. I think they waited until we finished singing then started Spring Day. :")
Then they performed Spring Day, and, as per the project, we lifted up the yellow rose x'3 I didn't know what this one meant, but Bangtan was touched as well :") I think they were speechless because we did so much projects. Their expression was NO JOKE THO. Their sadness filled up the venue :") Maybe that's what the yellow roses were for.
At the end, we kept singing the uoooh oh part and that's the part when they said their goodbyes :") They went around the stages a lot, all of them. I got noticed by Jin, Rapmon, and JHope the most. During the whole concert, I got a lot of Jin blowing kisses at us and dancing in front of us; Namjoon smiling around goofily and danced too; Yoongi pushing out his mic telling us to dance; Taehyung walking around and dancing and crouching; Jimin and Jungkook just walking around and JHope TEASING US, smiling at us and winking and generally becoming a horrible human being that doesn't have mercy on our heart. At this encore JHope came SO CLOSE to where I stood and reached out to pick the banner. He picked it with SUCH GENTLE FACE I CANT. He read it, POSED IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA WITH IT, AND GAVE IT BACK OMG SUCH ANGEL. He did it again with the yellow rose I CAN'T. Jungkook picked up fans with Jin's and Jimin's derp face and put it on his shirt HAHAHAHA. He did it SO PROUDLY and he was happily jumping and showing it around LIKE A CHILD OMG THIS BUNNY. Jimin crouched down CLOSE TO US but then he was like, "Okay, I'm near, no need to push around, hello, it's okay" Taehyung went SO NEAR the camera and did aegyo and picked a box with V on it OMG this cutie x'D Namjoon picked a pink dolphin stuffed animal and happily played with it. At the end of the farewell every member had came to the stage (AND TAE NOTICED ME AGAIN MY LIFEU IS COMPLETE) and went around. When they gathered again at the stage, I saw Namjoon struggling to put the dolphin on top of his head and was so proud that he finally did it and crossed his eyes x'D it's so cute. Jin played with Jungkook's collection and blew kisses with his derp-fan-face lol. Jimin just looked 100% done with maknae like always but he played with the fan anyways lol.Â
In the end, they all bowed and left the stage.
There was one more VCR, about the backstage and practice, and they are were sweet basically :")
In the end, we all went home safely, I think. My friend and I were so tired that we slept right after. We met up with our other friend at the airport and we ended up CRYING A LOT at the plane :") because of Bangtan omg. It's an emotional trainwreck, honestly.
WINGS TOUR JAKARTA IS MAGNIFICENT. GRANDIOSE. AWESOME. DEFINITELY WILL COME AGAIN TO BTS CONCERT. ALL THE MONEY I SPENT WERE WORTH IT. NOT A SINGLE MOMENT, NOT A CENT, WASTED.
