FINALLY got around to reading Flames of Hope and it was underwhelming as fuuuuck lol

I had high hopes, I loved every other book in this arc, but man the total faceplant of the climax...

Explanation for The Scorching was so fucking boring man. It's the whole scale issue WOF always has. Like what do you MEAN dragons burned an entire fucking world because of ONE GUY eggsnatching? That's IT? Tbh I wish they had just kept the Scorching a mystery this was just bland.

Why were Sky and Wren there? At all? Why are they on THE COVER? So we could get a human perspective here and there? They were way more interesting in Dragonslayer tbh

What was the point of Dusky? Why was he there? Who are you?

Also from the beginning of this arc the racism/slavery allegory was bad. Boring and bad. Boring, bad, and rushed as fuck.

I really liked Lizard/Freedom though. Wish they had done literally anything else with her.
