What did you think about episode prompto?

I have a lot of feelings about Episode Prompto, mostly good ones!TL;DR, it’s very good!

The full of it though… You are pretty much going to get a review, and BIG WARNING for spoilers because this will be full of it. So if you don’t want spoiled then do not read!

Again I really loved it and it was an emotional thing for me because I really love the sunshine boy. But I also felt it was disappointing too, in a few ways.

There was a lot of telling and not showing. Verstael is supposed to be a terrible, vile, awful little man. Worse than Ardyn in a way- Ardyn is terrible but he had more motivation over time to do what he did and Verstael was supposed to be the evil who was doing it for the hell of it. He wanted to push his work further to see how terrible and powerful it could go, and he did a lot of it for amusement even. And down to the point where he was using his own flesh and blood (I know there can be debate on this because he was working with clones. He said it was all created from his own flesh and blood- and if it was all from himself entirely then this asshole was so egotistical and vein as to think he himself was the perfect specimen because of, well, perfect genes. But there is the flipside of he could have legitimately had a son at one point and used him in all of this too and the whole “My own Flesh and Blood” still applies).But I still feel like there was a lack of showing him being a grotesque goblin. I know, I know, he was making the daemons that destroyed Insomnia and would come to destroy the world. But again that is as much as Ardyn’s fault too and in the end he still gets blamed more for the creation of such abominations than anything. All they really did was give logs that strictly told how bad he was and didn’t show much more outside of that again and I feel he was a disappointment as a villain.

And that was another thing too. Verstael was disappointing in how little time he had.I was expecting for a bit of a struggle and for Prompto to get away and for this to cause a final showdown with him and Verstael. And I was expecting this all to be dragged out and having to deal with him plenty just so Prompto could feel the hurt of this and his origins even more. But that didn’t really happen.You got a couple of minutes with him, only so he can be taken out by a bullet and bought down for most of the damn thing.Yes he came back and there was a showdown, but I feel like the way it was handled it went by too quick and all in all it was so… unsatisfactory.

Ardyn’s bits was very unsatisfactory too because they keep cutting him off awfully quick, and it feels like they are way too afraid right now to show how much more terrible he gets (we know what happens in Gralea or whatever the places name is, the fact that Ardyn has to re-break Prompto AGAIN. And tbh I’ve been hoping they’d show that just because I really want them to make me hate this fucker.Unless they have something planned… Like… Verstael knows how to transfer souls and memories which mean Ardyn knows. A theory I have is he got a new cloned MT body, killed off the old Prompto body and transferred that all into the new one [killing the new one’s mind, if it really had one, while at it] and clipped part of the other off just to make it easier to break him. Then again Prompto is literally torturing him so he probs doesn’t need to make it easier because he enjoys suffering too lbr.. imagine how shitty that would be :’) )But I am hoping that will change with Episode Ignis maybe. I FUCKING HOPE

Also… No fucking Ravus :’) Give me my boy :’) Please let me see him :’) He needs screen time :’) WE NEED MORE OF HIS STORY :’) I know you fuckers have fight animations for him already just let me see him and how he fights and his techniques PLEASE

But outside of the those short comings I would say it’s very good!

I know a lot of people hated the controls but I didn’t really mind them? The worst was the snowmobile but once I upgraded it, it was pretty good! And it was hella fun running everything over in it! But the shooty bit was also fun too- I think the big problem a lot of people had with it was it was different, and a lot of the people in the fandom don’t seem to be used to 3rd person shooters and that has to be hard. But I��ve played those plenty so it’s not an issue for me.

It gave me a lot of what I wanted with Prompto still. The good moments, and the very sad ones. Getting to watch him realize what he is and where he came from, questioning himself, and even hurting himself over all that. And I love the fact we got to see his epiphany and the startings of accepting himself too. So the DLC gave me the rollercoaster I was asking for.

HE GETS MORE CLOTHES. CLOTHES MEANT FOR COLD WEATHER! Good because my bby keeps freezing his ass off and did not have decently suited clothes for this and I am thankful!

ARANEA!!!! Oh god I love her… I love her so much. SOOOOOOOO MUCHI wish she had more time still but I will take what I can get and I loved seeing her dish out some tough love.Tbh I just want her and him to be friends together. Either they can go in a shippy way, or she can eventually become fond of him and give him noogies and treat him like fam or something. I don’t care in what way they are around each other and together I just need this in my life okay?But having her in combat was so fun and so handy and she made shit so much easier.Plus she is gorgeous and I am gay for her god damn the way she straddles over the snowmobile god I wish that was me

Overall all it’s really good and really fun! A fun way to spend a few hours, in which I am going to go back to this because I honestly loved the scenery, just the gorgeous snowy mountain and how lovely it looks at night and that’s a big point for me. I do honestly think it’s well worth the time/download/cash. I recommend it

ALSO! it has a robot yeti and has a quest name called Sins of the Father and- bless you square for giving me this helping of mgs

While Numa obviously doesn’t know this - the “Brother,” Generation Is used For an Older Generation Cheap ened Out Of Child Birth - By The Pro- Duct Ion Of a “Younger Gen-” By Their Progenitor Rule Breakers- - I really liked this episode.

A fact that would probably be helped If I could get the bittersweet taste of this good portrayal of child soldiers after last episode horrendous example

[And the pattern of having one good episode. After a whole lot of mediocrity

And the fact that the best episodes are the ones that don’t feature our main leads

For the episode itself, I think it was good;

Two criticisms I would have to speak though;

The set up between the scouting team and normal team seems a little mixed up; it would make more sense for Waxer and Boil, to be on the normal team that split up, instead of the scout team; Making sense how they didn’t find the information

And I think they could’ve gotten a bit more emotion out of the clone characters (Being former child soldiers themselves)

But those are nitpicks bordering on aesthetic dis -pleasure

It had an absolutely chilling villain. (I’m not sure Wattonboar is going to be able to follow up on that, Having less character, [and how do you follow up on a mega lo maniacal Robot Bent on destroying its enemies with ruthless efficiency?
