idly wondering with what experts would diagnose me if I was 100% truthful and could remember every single thing that happened to me and every single quirk I developed because of it <3
#like esp. at the start my mother would sit in on all my therapy sessions#and i didn't yet grasp what therapy was for at age 11 so i just talked about my day#and showed the nice lady my latest drawings orz#all that got me was a 'oh that kid is just shy and a little scared going to school just force him to go it'll be fine <3'#never said anything about the nefarious bullying or the things going on at home#because at that point i was so naive i thought it was NORMAL#and other therapists later on only ever focused on my weight and how sloppy i dressed. never addressing all my other issues so i gave up#never talked about all the other stuff for a while.#also that ONE situation i can barely remember but that fucked me up the most i think back in kindergarten... never told anyone about it#except a friend last year. wondering what therapists would say about that if i ever opened up about that to them#after a bit of thought it'd also explain my aversion to being touched/examined by doctors in that area. great.#ANYWAY just wondering <333#also all the 'negative' feelings i immediately throw in the repression bin. like jealousy frustration anger annoyance entitlement etc#been told one too many times that these things are ugly and shouldn't be displayed. should stop acting like a spoiled brat#never learned how to handle any of that <333#recently have taken to being overly analytical about it all. trying to find what triggers these emotions and then rationalising them away <3#they do still fester deep in my soul tho <333#good thing i'm so good at repression that i forget about it all eventually until something makes me remember and then i suffer#but then i repress again and i can live in blissful ignorance again <333333#wish i could be a dumb silly billy more often and not think about things too much like i usually do haha#maybe that's why i'm so drawn to and fadcinated by the bimbocore subculture/movement...... 🤔#anyway anyway just thinking haha

part 2 here!
girl dad!zayne who simply smiles when his daughter knocks on the door of his office one night. she lets herself in, a deep crease present on her forehead, fingers wrung together. he can tell the moment she entered that something's bothering her, so he shuts his laptop off in favor of giving his daughter his undivided attention.
"what's wrong?" he asks with an encouraging smile on his lips.
girl dad!zayne who puts on a nice front when she tells him that a boy is coming over tomorrow night for dinner. he almost says "no.", mouth opening to reject the very prospect of boys. "you're too young to be dating." he very nearly says, if not for the quiet "please." that stops him in his tracks.
suddenly, he's taken back to a whole decade ago.
suddenly, his little girl has just turned seven years old.
suddenly, she's pleading with the widest doe eyes he's ever seen for him to get her the slice of carrot cake displayed on the counter of a bakery.
damn it, he thinks. those eyes are the bane of his existence. not once has he been able to resist them. curse you and your genes for passing those godforsaken eyes to your little girl.
so he smiles. he pulls his daughter into a warm, comforting hug.
"of course." he says, trying not to sound like he's forcing the words through gritted teeth. "i'm not mad at all, sweetheart."
"really?"
zayne merely hums, and when she squeals in delight, jumping up to plant a small kiss to his cheek between an onslaught of thank you's and i love you's, he almost forgets that he just agreed to having some boy over in his house.
girl dad!zayne who huffs when you press a kiss against his lips to stop him in the middle of his rant. he's spent the last half hour citing complaints about his daughter. how boys her age are stupid and none of them could even dream of treating her the way she deserves to be treated.
"when did she even get old enough to start talking to boys?" he manages to insert between exasperated claims every five minutes.
"it's part of being a teenage girl, love." you pull yourself away from his lips, lazily moving around to straddle his thighs. "let her be."
"and you're not the least bit concerned?" his breath hitches against his throat when you start to slowly trail kisses around his neck. he doesn't hear your response to his question, mind clouded with the feeling of your lips drawing stars on his skin.
his girls are truly going to be the death of him.
girl dad!zayne who purposely lingers near the front door so he can beat his daughter to opening it. he hears the doorbell ring and the subsequent thundering of her footsteps from upstairs, but he's already opened the door before she can even rush down the stairs.
girl dad!zayne who relishes in watching the way this boy's face falls. he's secretly glad that his career is as remarkable as it has been at this very moment, because he sees exactly when it dawns on the boy who exactly is standing before him.
the father of the girl he likes is the doctor zayne. world-renowned cardiac surgeon doctor zayne.
the boy splutters. he unfolds into a stuttering mess right in front of zayne and he has to resist the urge to slam the door on his face.
if doing so didn't end in him being in the receiving end of your sermons, he never would've opened the door in the first place.
girl dad!zayne who’s overtaken by surprise for a quick second when the boy finally collects himself.
“thank you for letting me join you tonight, sir. it's really an honor.” he says his name. zayne's impassive expression doesn't deter the boy as he holds his hand out.
zayne reluctantly takes it. he's about to settle on just giving him a subtle shake when the boy himself takes initiative, shaking zayne's hand with just the right amount of enthusiasm.
"this is for you and your wife." he hands over the basket that's been sitting beside his feet. zayne eyes it with his arms crossed over chest.
the basket is decorated with a ribbon tied into a neat bow. it comes in his daughter's favorite color, an oddly specific shade of pastel blue that she's been obsessed with since she was five. the inside is parted down the middle, one side filled with fruits and food that you like. the other half is, very obviously, for him.
it's packed to the brim with a whole assortment of sweets. a variety of cake slices from a bakery at the other side of the town he's been meaning to visit. packs of candies he likes. his favorite pastries from the bakery near the hospital.
zayne is ... delighted. but he refuses to let the boy know he's slowly winning him over so he quietly takes the basket in his hands and lets him in.
"dinner will be ready shortly." he says before disappearing into the kitchen.
zayne catches his daughter with a small bouquet of her favorite flowers in her hand.
girl dad!zayne who intends to stay quiet over dinner, but is forced to make small talk when you kick him under the table.
"be nice." you remain silent as you smile at the young boy sitting beside your daughter, but he knows that's what you mean with the threatening glare you send him.
"so," zayne purposely says his name wrong as he clears his throat. "what do you do for fun?"
he sees you shake your head from the corner of his eye.
girl dad!zayne who still isn't entirely convinced that this boy deserves to be with his daughter, the literal light of his life, his little girl, but relents a little as the hours go by.
zayne remembers telling his daughter time and time again to never settle. that he himself would pluck the night skies free of stars if you so much as imply that it's what you want. that she should look for the love you share with him, unconditional and boundless.
and as zayne watches with a keen eye how he treats her, he thinks he's done a good job at instilling those beliefs.
he's attentive to her needs, handing the bowls of food that's way out of her reach. he places a small portion of vegetables on her plate and successfully coaxes her into eating them, something even zayne struggles with. he's quick to cover the edge of the table with his hand when she leans down to pick up the fallen spoon from beneath the table.
girl dad!zayne who ends the night standing behind his daughter on their porch as she waves him goodbye.
"drive home safely." zayne says, uttering his name correctly as a sign of respect.
he doesn't miss the way his daughter's face lights up. and if accepting someone new in their small family lets him see that smile more, zayne thinks it's all worth it.
this has been in my drafts since the i made that girl dad!zayne post a few weeks backdhejhd

Sighs. Okay yeah i have thoughts about cgi toothless.

First of all, why does he look so... slimy? He feels too smooth. Like they just stretched some scaly skin over a skeleton and let it walk around. Immediately offputting.

His body language is. Fine? Am i being nitpicky or does it seem just the tiniest bit less expressive? I'm guessing this is either the scene right after hiccup cuts him free, in which case he should be way more intimidating, or the fish-sharing scene, in which case he should feel a little friendlier and more curious around hiccup. It's a quick shot so i won't put a ton of expectations onto it, but i think it's worth noting.

Okay this is a legitimately cool detail though. He has a secondary eyelid!! You can see it slipping away when he opens his eyes. That's a detail exclusive to the books so i like that they included something as small as that.

Sighs again. And this is the shot that prompted me to make this post.

Look at the original, and then look at the cgi version. I could write an essay about how inferior the cgi version is in comparison.
First off, they flattened his face. I swear every iteration of night furies after the first movie has just been compressing their snouts until they're sufficiently 'cute' enough for the audience to forget they're supposed to be sleek and aerodynamic.
Second, his eyes. Absolutely radioactive. I understand using a brighter colour for his eyes, especially in a relatively darker environment to make him stand out and seem more fantastical. But. They're just so bright. It's mildly unsettling how saturated they are compared to everything else.
Third, his eyes. Again.
Toothless is supposed to be terrified but still threatening in this scene, and the original shot conveys that perfectly. If it's a threat, then by all means hiccup should kill it or at least run, but instead he draws a connection between both of them being scared of the other and decides to cut him loose instead. And that's the core of their relationship. Toothless is staring him down with a slitted pupil that could just as easily be interpreted as "fuck around and find out" but hiccup just acknowledges that there's a frightened, injured animal in front of him that needs help, and he helps.
Is any of that conveyed in the cgi version? No!! It's trying so hard to be cute that it's gone full circle back to just being scary. The wide-eyed stare, the dilated pupil, he's basically just saying "🥺🥺 uwu pwease i'm so cute and innocent don't kill me aha 👉👈". Which is a lot less of a compelling reason for hiccup to free him!! Plus the fact that toothless turns up to look at him instead of lying and accepting his fate like in the original, which only makes it seem even more like he's trying to show off how apparently adorable he is.
Idk. Just the difference between the in-your-face sanitised cuteness of "teehe you wouldn't kill little old me would you? 🥺" and the expert subtlety of his "please don't hurt me" of the original doesn't give me high hopes for a toothless that stays true to his character from the first movie. Even from something as small as this. He's gonna get woobified. I can feel it.

𝐁𝐅𝐅! 𝐘𝐔𝐉𝐈 | your best friend wants to know what kissing feels like MDNI
warnings: heated make out, perverted thoughts, dry humping
Your best friend's lips were wet with spit and delightfully pink when he asked you if you've ever kissed before. You shake your head, confirming that you haven't, and if it weren't for the fact Yuji was your best friend you would have been embarrassed admitting that. But he was, so you weren't. You knew that he also had never kissed someone. Neither of you had ever dated anybody - always too involved in your own little bubble together. Attached at the hip.
"How come you're asking?" you question him, your eyes locking with his. He dodged the question, stuttering out nonsense as his cheeks turned the color of his hair.
"N-no reason," he blushed, and you nodded slowly - taking in how nervous your friend became.
It didn't take a whole lot of prying - it never did with Yuji. It wasn't unlike him to bring up something silly before trying to dismiss the fact he ever said it - like the time he asked your bra size. You looked up at him in shock, the skittle you were biting down on caught in your throat, causing you to choke. After recovering you gasped out, "Sorry. my what?" you asked him to clarify and his cheeks turned their signature rosy hue.
"I'm sorry... I don't know why I asked that," he stammered, pulling his his hoodie over his face and tightening the draw strings. It didn't take long for him to admit that he was just curious - and that he was sorry for how perverted it sounded. You patted his back, telling him it was just unexpected before giving him the answer to his question. You almost didn't notice how his lips formed an "o", silently picturing your response in his mind.
This day was just like any other for you two, honestly. "You've been thinking about kissing, Yuji?" you ask him nonchalantly. You found it always went down better if you acted like it was no big deal.
"I guess," he mumbled, trying to busy himself with the weather app on his phone.
"Did someone try to kiss you?" you kept prying, slowly but surely getting to the root of his question.
"No!" he all but shouted and your eyes narrowed.
"Then what's up?" again, your tone was nonchalant while he was anything but. He fidgeted under your gaze, knees bouncing with anxiety while he bit down on his bottom lip.
"I guess I was just wondering what it feels like... I don't know," he says dismissively, shaking his head before putting it in his hands; effectively avoiding your gaze. "I thought you would maybe know," he tells you, his words muffled by his large palms.
"Oh sorry, I don't," you tell him, going back on your phone in silence. When he hears a video play, he takes his head from his hands, looking up at you as you giggled at your screen, already deciding to forget about what he asked. Out of the corner of your eyes, you can see Yuji frowning at you - like he still has something he wants to say. You use your foot to poke his leg, leaning further back onto the end of your couch. "Spit it out Yuj," you tell him, not bothering to look up from your phone.
"Do you ever wonder what it feels like?" he asks you, his typical playful tone now painfully timid. Your eyebrows quirk, looking back up to him and noticing how nervous he looks.
"I guess sometimes," you say, biting your lip while you waited for him to continue.
"D-Did you maybe want to... I don't know...," he rambles, lifting his hand up to cover his face again. You patiently wait for him to recover himself. "You can say no," he begins, hands noticeably shaky. You sit up abruptly upon noticing his hands quiver - scooching over to be closer to him. He looks up, a little shocked seeing you so close to him and his throat bobs from swallowing harshly. "Do you maybe want to kiss me? Just to know what it feels like," he spits out, saying it so fast you could hardly catch his question but you do. Your lips part in surprise.
Was it a bit of an odd suggestion from your best friend? Sure, yeah. But was Yuji an odd guy? Absolutely. Your best friend was a fanatic for all things weird - you had known this your whole life. Hell, you sat right next to him while he watched his obscure, gory horror movies that made your stomach church. All though he assured you that you didn't have to watch them with him, Yuji was your best friend. Anything he was interested - anything that he wanted to do, you were down. So was it odd to kiss your best friend? Most would say yes. But Yuji and you weren't most people, that's why you two were so good together. You 'matched each other's freak', for lack of a better term.
Despite the fact neither of you had kissed anyone, the two of you got the hang of it fairly quickly. It started with a few pecks; you leaned even closer to your best friend, eyes watching as his lips twitched in anticipation. "Let me know if you want me to stop, Yuj," you told him before closing the gap between you two. His lips were soft against yours and smooth as butter. You planted a few light kisses, pulling away to check in with him. His face was flushed and you looked just a few inches down to see how strong his hand gripped the couch's arm behind him, causing his muscles to flex - showing off his toned forearm and bicep he earned from his years of hard work in the various sports he played. "Was that ok?" you inquire, ghosting over his lips. He nodded desperately, adjusting himself to fully face you before dragging you onto his lap and smashing his lips into yours.
You didn't have time to be taken aback, too distracted with abrupt change in pace as his lips smushed against yours. He groaned, snaking his hands around your back and pulling you flush against him, deepening the kiss. He could feel your squishy breasts push against his hard chest and his head began to spin. Your scent was permeating in his space, clogging his senses. He was entranced by the foreign feeling of another mouth on his, causing him to not think clearly. At least that's what he told himself as his lips moved against yours. He wasn't himself. That's why he was so desperate. That's why his tongue licked along the seam of your mouth, silently asking you to part your lips so he could slip it in.
That's why when you opened up for him he couldn't help bucking his hips up into you. He had to fight back an embarrassed whine from the realization he was humping his best friend - all because she let him explore her mouth. You sat on his lap patiently though, allowing Yuji to use your unsuspecting lips to know what it feels like to kiss.
His hands rose from your hips, sliding up to feel more of your body as he kept unknowingly thrusting himself up against you - too lost from the feeling of your tongue wrestling his. Even his tongue was stronger than you - you were unable to fight for control over your own mouth as his unskilled tongue explored yours. His hands stopped just below your breast, using his thumbs to subtly massage the underside of your tits. You were completely pliant under his grasp, allowing your friend to explore and hump you while you took what he gave you. It was completely new to you - what he was doing with his body to yours - but you'd be a liar if you told him you wanted him to stop. It was overwhelming and confusing but you would be the last person to put an end to what was happening. You both were young adults and embarrassingly inexperienced. Even though the awkwardness between you two for the rest of the day would be palpable; you two were too excited to finally get in on what every one else your age had already long since experienced. It didn't hurt you both found each other attractive...
The longer you found your tongue tangled up with his - the more handsy Yuji got. He wasn't only experiencing his first kiss - but many firsts. Like his first time touching a woman's breasts; feeling the weight of yours heavy in his hands as he kneaded and squished the supple skin. Since you two were just relaxing at home you didn't bother to wear a bra - something Yuji was grateful for as he reached under your shirt, his thumbs grazing your hardened nipples. He experienced making a woman moan for the first time - his attentive hands on your sensitive chest coupled with the feeling of his hard on barely confined under his loose sweatpants brushing against your center caused you to whimper - a sound Yuji could never forget even if he tried.
Your lips finally detached at the sound of your muffled moan - spit trailing from both of your mouths as you two pulled back. Both of you were out of breath, still holding onto one another while you struggled to fill your lungs up with air. "We should probably stop there," you suggested, all though the tone you used suggested otherwise.
"Yeah, probably," Yuji says unconvinced, his covered length beneath you twitches while you two only watch each other - eager to see what the other's next move might be. His hands are still on your chest - just beneath the underside of your breast and he fights to keep his hands from squeezing you one last time.
"Okay," you say, still perched in his lap.
"Okay," he responds, still holding your breasts.
You can only watch him as he watches you - both fighting against the realization that what was happening needed to come to an end. "How about just one more kiss?" he suggests and you nod, moving in to peck his lips; taking your time before pulling back to face him again.
"One more," you find yourself saying, again kissing him before pulling away. You both stare at each other - faces painted with pain trying to fight against what you both wanted but shouldn't be doing.
"We don't have to stop...." Yuji finally suggests, eyebrows scrunching nervously waiting for your response.
"Yeah... that works..." is all you say.
should i make a part 2? idk if i liked this....

Sunsets in the Summer (LH43)

Pairing: Luke Hughes x Fem!Reader (a follow up to LIH/TSOU - reading is encouraged but not required to enjoy)
WC: 9.6k
Description/Warnings: some brief snapshots into the LIH!lovers second summer together while they figure out their flow as a couple - fluffy, suggestive interactions and mentions of sexual acts (including some brief hand action but not a detailed description) with fade-to-black smut, no angst!! hallelujah (some brief insecurity but not expanded on enough to be angsty), usual amounts of sarcasm and banter and cursing probably- rushed tbh so doesn't flow too well but I think it's cute lmao
A/N: I WAS GOING TO QUEUE THIS TO POST WHILE I'M AWAY IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS BUT IT IS MEG'S BIRTHDAY SO I PUT MY ASS TO WORK TO GET THIS DONE!!! PURE FLUFFY BLISS FOR THE ICON THE LEGEND AND THE MOMENT HERSELF!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY @star2fishmeg I LOVE YOU A LOT HOPE YOU HAVE YOUR DOLLS TO HAND AND I HOPE YOU ENJOY!! (if anyone reading this hasn't already send your love to meg bc she deserves it!! from the day I posted LIH part 1, she's been nothing but supportive and wonderful to me, and 3 seconds on her page will show you she's one of the kindest-natured and most wonderful people on here)
I had a couple requests for Luke and LIH!reader's first proper date, and one that was for how they spend their summer, so I sort of combined them to create this, it's a bit of an unstructured jumble of little moments between them, but I hope you guys don't mind it turned into a hybrid of requests! If you do want me to write individual moments feel free to send in another request, I don't really ever want to let these two go!! But to answer the question about their first date specifically - I genuinely think they just jump right into cutesy/dorky date nights, and Luke would eventually deep that they haven't done anything ~grown together - which is where the idea for the end of this really came from 💕
It doesn’t take long for you and Luke to get into a routine once you’ve come back out to Michigan in the summer.
You spend most of your days together - aside from when he’s at a check up or a physio appointment, or you’re out with Ellie or a few of your other friends still lingering in the area - and end up back in the same place every night - curled up against Luke’s good side in bed, your leg slung over his, and your face smushed into his peck by the time you wake in the morning.
Except for the few times he’s up before you.
Like now, when your eyes flutter open slowly to an empty space beside you.
His pillow is a little crinkled, his sheets are haphazardly straightened back out, and the spot where he had been laid is still warm - so you know he can’t be far.
After relieving your bladder and brushing your teeth, you slip into a shirt he had strewn across the chair of the little vanity he had set up for you, letting it fall to the top of your thighs as you amble throughout the house with little regard for anyone else you might bump into.
You sort of have a one-track mind when it comes to mornings with your boyfriend, and you honestly forget to consider who might not want to catch a slight glimpse of your ass cheeks so early in the day.
You find him in the kitchen, as assumed, and you almost think you’re half asleep when you take in the state of him.
His hair is a soft but unruly mess, and his briefs are so barely pulled up you can almost see his ass cheeks - as perfect as they are - the structured muscles of his back almost forming an arrow to point down, and you can only see those muscles because he’s for some reason wearing one of your shirts. How he got that on, unassisted, with the sling, you’ll never know.
You’d laugh if it wasn’t so hot - if the fabric wasn’t stretched so tight across his broad shoulders that it makes him look even thicker.
And because you can’t laugh, you pretty much groan as you draw in on him, wrapping your arms around him from behind and pressing your face into his back.
“Morning, baby,” he drawls, his voice raspy and low, and good god, you’re fighting to consider the fact you aren’t alone in the house. You’d climb him like a god-damn tree already if you were.
“Missed you,” you mumble into his spine, your palms flat in the strip of stomach between your top and his briefs, and his skin is so warm you want to keep your hands there forever.
“Making you breakfast,” he says, wriggling a little out from your embrace so that he can show you - two slices of toast with unevenly chopped banana, and an adorable, crooked smiley face drawn on each one with honey.
You love him so much.
It must slip out without you even realising it because he turns in your hold, his free hand travelling slowly down your body until it lands at your hip and pull you flush to his, and he tells you that he loves you too.
He leans down for a kiss - sugary sweet, like he’d licked his fingers or something from the syrupy residue of honey on them - and you lean into it, revelling of the feeling of his large hand slowly curling around the back of you, fingers curling around the globes of your ass and squeezing.
And you let him turn the two of you until the base of your spine is pressed back into the counter, your hands running through his unruly curls and your tongue chasing more and more of the sweetness of his kiss.
“People eat in here,” you hear Jack as he steps into the kitchen, and you part from Luke slowly, slipping another peck against his lips before you glance around his slinged-shoulder at his older brother.
“What do you think we’re doing?”
You don’t even intend the double entendre, but seeing his face curl up in disgust almost makes it worth it.
“Too early for your crap, dude,” Luke huffs, his hand still in place, and you see him wince when he cranes his neck back.
“What is this, Freaky Friday?” Jack snorts as he opens the fridge, nodding towards the two of you and your weird clothes-swap mishap.
You bite your tongue to stop yourself mocking him straight back, and Luke spares you a knowing look as he waits for Jack to get what he assumes is the greek yoghurt he usually has for breakfast and go back upstairs.
He’s been getting on your last nerve all week, and he knows it.
Ellie is away on another family vacation, already, and you’re pretty sure Jack has formed an alliance with Quinn to cock-block you and Luke to fill his time, but you’re hardly gonna point the finger.
You’re trying to be better.
“Freaky Friday is where they swapped lives, not clothes.”
“You knew what I meant,” Jack huffs, slamming the fridge closed behind him and glaring at the two of you as he grabs a spoon out of the cutlery drawer for his yoghurt. “You look like a dork.”
“You-,”
And Luke’s hand on your ass squeezes before you can carry on, like a warning.
“Don’t you all have training this morning?”
“Gonna be leaving in ten,” Jack confirms, “So if you two could maybe wait until we’re gone to be gross, we’d all appreciate it.”
You press your lips together, a sardonic smile flashed toward him when he smirks over at you, and you watch as he retreats - the tension only seeping from your shoulders when he’s out of sight and out of mind.
“Maybe that can be our thing,” Luke leans forward and mumbles into the curve of your neck, just low enough for the sound not to travel in case Jack is still around, and the combination of his hand grazing the soft flesh of your thigh beneath the hem of his t-shirt, and the way his lips just brush the sensitive skin below your ear makes your breath hitch in your throat. “Freaky Fridays,”
Your eyes flutter shut as you shudder against his him, “Why do I get the feeling you aren’t talking about swapping clothes?”
“We could have a fuck-it list,” and you can hear the smirk without even opening your eyes to look at him, “Cross off all sorts of positions while everyone’s out training on Friday mornings,”
“You’re not gonna be in that sling forever, babe,” you chuckle, finally looking up at him craning your neck a little due to the proximity, and he stays leaning, your nose almost bumping his where he’s in the same position. “You’re gonna end up joining them at some point.”
“All the more reason for us to get started immediately,” his eyes glimmer with mischief when you meet them, “No time to waste.”
You can’t even bring yourself to fight it when he’s looking at you like that - all charming and intentional - not that you want to, anyway. You’re not oblivious to how weirdly fortunate the two of you are to be in this situation, as much as his injury was upsetting at first. It’s the only reason you have so much alone time with him, even this early in the summer.
And you’ve been limited thus far - the start of your relationship being a little jumpy between the end of his season, the end of your school year, and everything that followed with his injury and you going back home. You’ve barely had the opportunity to bask in the honeymoon period - especially now that you’re at the house and his brothers are around.
“Fine,” you acquiesce, “Fuck it.”
The two of you barely make it the promised ten minutes before he’s propped up against the headboard of the bed you now share, and you’re straddling his lap - following the seams of his sling along his chest with kisses that make his spine tingle, and he’s listing off all the positions he says he’s wanted you in since you first hooked up last year.
While the two of you slowly work your way through Luke’s Fuck-It List - a little limited when it comes to his current lack of mobility - you also make more of an effort to do things just the two of you.
It starts with movies, because of course it does, and Luke insists you go to watch them at the actual movie theatre. You share a bucket of popcorn, and you rest comfortably under his arm slung over your shoulders, and it all feels so normal and right.
And you do that a couple of times before you decide to switch it up a bit. If you’re going to be making the conscious effort to start up date nights, you should really be trying out different things, you think.
Which is what has you sat behind the wheel of Luke’s BMW and driving him to an undisclosed destination, drowning out his constant questions about it by turning the radio up, and singing along to his country music playlist he’s been forcing on you for too long, now.
You’re quite proud of this idea for a first attempt, and you can’t help but glance over to gauge his reaction when you pull up to the venue and put the car into park. He’s quiet as he works his way out of the car, still insistent on being a gentleman and opening your door despite his shoulder.
“Mini golf?” He asks as he helps you out of the car, his fingers interlacing with yours as you hit the gravel and bump the driver’s side door shut with your hip. “This is your genius date idea?”
“You said you felt left out at the course,” you pout, sidling up beside him until you’re pressed together, craning your neck up a little to meet his eye, “I wanted to give you the next best thing while you’re still in the sling.”
“I’d still need two working arms for a putter, babe,” he chuckles, lifting his arm over your head with your hand still in his until it’s wrapped around your shoulder, your hips bumping as you walk side by side up to the kiosk.
“You could beat me with no arms and a blindfold, I’m pretty sure,” you tell him, “But if you want to go somewhere else we can, I just thought this would be cool. It’s nice out tonight, and I don’t think there’s any chance of your brothers gatecrashing.”
Luke hums, leaning a little to press his lips to the side of your head, “It is nice to get out from under Quinn’s supervision,” he agrees, and you smile up at him when you register the levity of his tone. “Can barely look at you without him having something to say about it.”
“Imagine the scandal if you knocked me up at mini golf,” you gasp, and he gives one of those easy, heart warming laughs that almost make you stumble in your step. “We might have to fake a scare, just to send him into cardiac arrest.”
“You’re evil.”
“You’re the one who loves me,” you shrug, reaching into your back pocket for your phone when you reach the cashier, keeping a hold of Luke’s good hand despite him trying to pull it away so he can’t sneak his own card forward to pay. The teenager behind the counter hands over two putters and two balls without even glancing up from his own phone, and you twirl out from under Luke’s arm, pulling him up the path toward the start of the course.
“You gonna let me stand behind you and tell you what to do?” He asks as he follows you, smiling despite the fact you’re facing away from him at the quick burst of laughter you release.
“When have I ever let you tell me what to do?”
“Was worth a try,” and he’s still smiling, big and broad, when you swivel back on your heels to face him. You drop his hand to give the putter over, and throw the balls down onto the start of the first hole, kicking one onto the line and the other off to the side.
“I’ll tell you what,” you look up at him as you step closer, “Why don’t we make things interesting?”
“Interesting, how?” He smirks, a teasing tilt of his head causing your lips to twitch up.
“I don’t know,” you hum, edging just a little more toward him, “Winner gets-,”
“Head,” he finishes, almost immediately, and your eyes widen in response, hardly expecting the speed in which it comes out of him. It’s not exactly like the two of you haven’t been intimate back at the house - you’re making steady progress with the list - but there is the whole hardly ever alone thing to consider. “In the car, so no one back home can interrupt.”
“That was quick,” you snort, pressing your fingertips into the flat surface of his belly, avoidant of his sling, feeling the ridges of definition beneath the fabric of his t-shirt. “You’ve been giving that a lot of thought, huh?”
“Got a lot to time to think when we’re in the car and I’m not the one driving,” he explains, “Don’t have to focus on the road, so I get to look at you,” he coos, craning his neck a little and seemingly pushing past the slight discomfort when he does so, dipping to your level, “Get to think about your pretty mouth when you’re singing along to the radio.”
And it makes your spine tingle, just how easy it is to slip in a sweet observation with something so forward. He’s so good at doing that - masking burning desire with gentle adoration.
“Fine, winner gets head,” you agree, extending onto your tiptoes to make closing the distance easier, and softly pecking at his waiting lips until you part with a teasing smile, because kissing him seems so much more efficient than a handshake to seal the deal.
“Beauty before brains,” he offers, pointing to the starting line with his putter and quickly avoiding your attempt at a playful shove.
You step up, anyway.
The first hole is an easy one, although you know from past experience at this exact course - a favourite amongst your sorority sisters for bonding activities - that there’s a trick to a good shot.
The last time you were here, you figured out that aiming for one of the stones that line the green is the key to a hole in one - and you shoot your shot with ease, the ball ricocheting off the surface and making its way straight to the desired target. All you can do is watch with a smile.
“Oh my God,” he groans, staring wide eyed as the ball putts and drop into the hole with an almost comical plonk, “You’re hustling me!”
“Who, me?” You gasp, feigning offence with a slacked jaw and widened eyes - both of which do little to hide the smile that’s twitching at the corners of your mouth. “I’d never.”
You bite your lip in amusement as he stands there, his gaze lingering on the course like he can’t quite believe you just potted a hole in one, already, and you amble up beside him, curling a hand around his free bicep and leaning up.
“You want me to stand behind you and tell you what to do?”
“You’re going down,” he scoffs, shrugging you off to tee himself up at the starting line.
“No, baby,” you call out, pointing your putter over to him as he looks back at you, his own pretty lips parted in defiance as you wink and tell him, “You are.”
You think it’s sort of embedded into the very fibres of your relationship that you and Luke will always resort back to movies - and for as much as you’ve been trying other options for dates, like the arcade where he thrashed you at air hockey, or the trips to the mall, where Luke thought buying one thing from each joint in the food court would be a good idea and you had to drive home with your jeans unbuttoned from the bloating - so it’s no surprise when the weather’s acting up, and you still don’t really like venturing out anywhere during a storm, Luke has the genius idea to finally sit you through the entire Star Wars movie franchise, beginning to end.
It’s something you’ve been putting off for a while, and it’s not that you’re against it, per se, but the thought of having to dedicate the brain power to remembering a bunch of random stuff almost gives you a headache.
The two of you are just settling in together on the couch, practically knotted up like pretzels with the way you’re snuggling up to him, when Jack and Quinn return from the store with Cole Caufield in tow.
“Sick, it’s like a home theatre in here,” Cole exclaims as he leads Quinn and Jack into the room, the eldest sibling biting back a knowing smile when he meets Luke’s horrified gaze, “What are we watching?”
“We’re not watching anything,” Luke gestures between the lot of them with his good hand around your shoulder, before he angles his head down toward you, “We’re watching Star Wars.”
“Prequels first?” Jack gasps as he reaches for the case by the TV, flashing the cover back over to you, “That’s not okay.”
“Good thing you’re not the one watching, Jack,” Luke argues back, and he visibly loses the will to argue when all three of them sink down onto the remaining couches and seemingly get comfortable. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“It’s raining out, Luke, what else are we supposed to do?”
“Literally anything, anywhere else?”
“It’s fine,” you tell him, cozying up a little extra, because it sort of works in your favour to have them insert themselves into this situation. “They’re right, we can’t hog the TV.”
“Yeah, Lukey, you can’t hog the TV.”
You roll your eyes and ignore Jack, settling back into Luke’s side and absentmindedly stroking at his belly as the movie tees up - and what starts off as unintentional, innocent petting, slowly drifts as time ticks on.
“What are you doing?” Luke whispers covertly, eyes stuck on the screen as your fingers trace along the bare skin that is revealed between his hoodie and his sweats, scratching softly until you can move the elastic a little to unveil more of his hipbone.
You know you shouldn’t tease him - but your whole plan to get out of sitting through Star Wars in the first place was to try and distract him - and the only thing you can think of that’s worse than sitting through all three prequels is sitting through them with his brothers around.
“Just touching,” you whisper back innocently, nails tickling at what you know is very sensitive skin.
“You’re teasing,” he corrects you, a quick flash of a knowing gaze sent down at you, but his hips still shuffle beneath your touch - like he’s giving you further access - and your lips twist at the movement.
There are telltale signs of arousal - sharp intakes of breath when your touch travels a little too low to be innocent, the constant rolling of his neck and shoulders like he’s trying to keep his head in the game, and, obviously, a shift in the front of his sweatpants, a subtle, gradual tent forming beneath the fabric that becomes harder and harder to ignore, no pun intended.
“You don’t seem to mind.”
Luke sighs as he shuffles again, his eyes darting to where his brothers and Cole sit on the other couches, making sure none of them are looking before he looks back down at you.
Your eyes lock on his as you bite back a smile - a wordless agreement between you both taking place, and you wriggle up a little, yourself, from where you’re situated against his side - high enough that you can sort of cover the movement of your hand with the rest of your body, and press a firm kiss the the sharp line of his jaw.
He can’t help the satisfied hum that comes out when your fingers slip beneath the waistband of his pants, edging down slowly, and it only takes a second to realise he isn’t even wearing underwear.
You try not to giggle into his flesh, nipping playfully as you move in your ministrations.
He probably had no intention of sitting the whole way through Star Wars, himself - not tonight, at least.
“Who’s teasing now?” You barely even make a sound, so close to his ear that you don’t need to and he can make out what you’re saying, “Commando, Luke, really?”
He smirks, and you see the smile settle as he stays looking forward.
“You get handsy when you’re bored.”
“Oh, now I’m predictable?”
He glances down before he meets your eye again, quirking his brow in a wordless response, as if to say, am I wrong?
And the only way to bite back a scoff is to kiss him - a kiss that starts out soft and subtle, but escalates before you even realise. His palm caresses your cheek, long, slender fingers tucking your hair behind your ear, your hand is down his pants, and your tongue is in Luke’s mouth, his soft lips closing around the muscle until the sloppy sound of him sucking on it is too loud to mask.
And then you’re knocked out of your reverie with a harsh smack of a pillow against your back - the two of you darting apart and your hands slipping out from under his waistband.
“What the fuck?” Luke whines, and you both glare in the direction of the other three guys in the room - the three guys you, honestly, shamefully forgot were even there for a second.
“Knock it off, you’re being gross.” Jack frowns, leaning differently in the absence of a cushion behind him.
“Yeah, keep it PG, you two,” Quinn adds, “I’m under strict instruction to keep an eye on you both.”
“Ew,” you frown, “It’s giving Peeping Tom.”
“No, it’s not,” he scoffs, despite the way Luke snorts out laughter from beside you, “It’s giving responsible older brother.”
“It’s giving dude who isn’t getting laid,” Cole chimes in, and you and Luke simultaneously hum in agreement just to annoy Quinn even further.
If they’re all going to intrude on your date night, the two of you may as well have your fun with it.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Quinn turns his attention to the blonde currently lounging back into the opposite couch, “Do you want to sit here all night and witness those two swapping spit and getting handsy?”
“I can think of worse ways to spend my Friday,” Cole shrugs, and the rest of you all let out some form of grossed out exclamation - Luke shuffling out from beneath you to throw the pillow back in his general direction - watching as it smacks straight against Cole’s face and cuts off whatever the hell he’s about to add onto that about you.
“We’re going upstairs,” Luke huffs, pushing himself up off the couch and grabbing your hand - and you don’t put up any sort of protest, obviously, letting him drag you behind him as he throws out a, “You’re on a 24 hour timeout from even looking at my girlfriend,” he jabs a pointed finger towards Cole, and you bite back a smile at how hot you find his possessiveness - a trait he so rarely lets take over, but you can’t help but get excited when he does.
And as gross as the thought of Caufield watching you was - and as much as you sort of know he’s joking - you’re honestly thankful, because Luke isn’t the kind of guy to let that slide when you’re both safe behind the closed door of your shared bedroom, and he’s pushing you back onto the bed before you even have a chance to think about it.
“Are you done yet?”
“Almost.”
You watch Luke’s tongue poke out of his mouth in concentration as he dramatically swipes the paintbrush against the canvas you set up for him earlier - the bare back of which has been taunting you for at least fifteen minutes since you finished your own portrait.
Tiktok said this would be cute.
Painting each other as you share a pizza and sip at what is quite honestly a borderline undrinkable glass of wine - you won’t be trusting Luke on a liquor store run ever again.
But you probably overestimated your creative abilities.
Your portrait of Luke looks like a haunted blob of sickly pale skin and messy brown curls, and the longer he takes to paint you, the longer it stares back at you and you hate it.
He’s gonna hate it - and what was supposed to be a sweet, stay-at-home date idea, turned into something stupid.
You feel stupid, and maybe it’s the extra fifteen minutes he’s spent perfecting his creation that’s making you feel worse.
“It isn’t being hung in the Louvre, Luke,” you roll your eyes, leaning forward onto the table with your chin tucked in the clammy palm of your hand.
“That’s what you think,” he snorts, finally laying the brush flat on the surface beside his easel and tilting his head to peak at you from the side. “I’m finished.”
“Okay, who’s going first?”
“Uhh,” he narrows his eyes at his own work before they flick back up to meet yours, “You first,”
And you can’t help but pout a little as you grasp at either side of the canvas, fingers clenching a little as you build up the nerve.
“I’m not an artist, okay,” you glance over at him, a begging look in your like a silent plea to take it easy on you, “It isn’t the best.”
“Baby,” he pouts back, “You could have smeared your boogers on there and I’d love it.”
“That’s disgusting,” you cringe, but the sentiment sort of helps you build up the courage to flip your easel around, wincing as you watch and wait for his reaction.
He stares at it for what feels like a whole minute, gaze going side to side and up and down like he’s taking in every single brushstroke, and you find yourself holding your breath in anticipation of his feedback.
“Do I have a lazy eye?”
“What? No,” you frown, quickly swivelling it back to take another look. His eyes are a little crooked - you’re drinking wine, you're bound to have a shaky hand - but you wouldn’t call them lazy. “Is it that bad?”
“It's no worse than mine," he snickers, pushing his chair back and nodding his head to the side of him - a gesture for you to come over, and when you do, and you're stood before him, he parts his legs for you to perch yourself on one of his thick, muscular thighs.
You circle your arms around his neck, trying to balance yourself and ignore the heat in his gaze when he watches you do such a mundane and routine thing, his hands gripping at your waist to help you.
“See,” he nods toward the painting, “I’d personally hang it on our wall but I think it’s obvious why.”
Despite the fact you don’t think you’ll ever get over him referring to anything in this house as part-yours, you manage to gloss over that small fact when you take in the monstrosity in front of you.
It’s so bad your jaw drops a little, and you try not to outwardly laugh to avoid offending him.
“Luke-,”
“Before you start-,”
“You started with my boobs didn’t you!” You accuse, swatting playfully at his chest as you let a smile overcome you.
“What?” He scoffs, “No, why would you think that?”
“They’re huge,” you snort, shuffling a little on his lap as he steadies you with a hand on your hip, “It’s like you painted them too big and ran out of room for everything else.”
You watch as a soft flush spreads across his cheeks, sheepish and self-conscious as he casts a glance back over his painting whilst trying to ignore your own eyes on him. His face scrunches a little, crinkles forming around his eyes and nose as he really takes in the lack of proportion, and you can’t help but smile at how cute he is.
“Alright, maybe I did,” he pouts, “Is that so bad?”
“I look like a balloon animal!”
“It is a little disproportionate,” he admits, his bottom lip jutting out in a way that makes you want to kiss it, and you roll your eyes to fight the urge. “We should have done naked paintings, then I’d be winning.”
“You wanna draw me like one of your French girls?” Your tone is still sultry as you mock him, and watching the slow, suggestive curve of his lips does little to fan out the flames of attraction in the pit of your belly. He’s so pretty, it’s stupid - especially up close, and that’s after you’ve spent the past 30 minutes glancing up at him to try and do justice to all the intricate, beautiful parts of his face with a cheap paint set and a brush that was falling apart.
No wonder you were so insecure about your attempt.
You don’t think there’s even a colour you could mix that would capture the unique hue of his irises - a soft combination of maybe blue, maybe green that you can’t even begin to think where you’d start when it came to creating it, yourself. And the smattering of little freckles and beauty marks that litter his skin - you’d never quite map that constellation correctly. The soft curl of his hair, the smooth curve of his lips, the unwavering dedication he has to whatever the hell is growing below his nose - you wouldn’t get it right in a million years.
Maybe him painting you as 70% boobs and 30% everything else is the better picture overall.
“Nah,” he smiles soft, his gaze drifting around your own face like he’s thinking the same thoughts - lingering on your mouth a little too long before he says, “Do wanna take you upstairs, though.”
You smile, too - easy and unwavering - and you feel a familiar heat creep up your neck before you press your lips to his in a slow, amorous kiss.
His knee bounces in a quick jolt as he responds, his hand rising to cup your face and hold you against him, mouth moving until his tongue swipes against the seam of your lips, deepening the moment into something neither of you would want to retreat from.
You honestly can’t remember life before he kissed you like this - how you ever even lasted a day of denying your feelings for him, because you don’t think you could ever love anyone like you love Luke.
It’s something that seems to consume you, regardless of where you are - whether it’s painting stupid portraits together or it’s watching movies or it’s sitting out on the deck chairs on the back porch and talking to his brothers - just his presence, just knowing he’s close by and the way he feels about you is exactly the same settles you beyond what you can put into words.
“Jesus Christ-,”
You both groan in frustration as you part, turning to glare at Jack as he interrupts you, the kitchen door swinging closed behind him.
“Quinn, they’re at it, again!” He calls out, lips curled in disgust as he makes his way over - empty beer bottles stuffed between his fingers that he throws into the recycling with a clink.
You don’t want to move from Luke’s lap, so as Jack nears the table, you don’t even think to get up - despite the fact that he’s heading straight for the painting you really don’t want to hear his criticisms of.
“How cute!” He coos, but you can see straight through him - his lips curling into a borderline sinister smile as he picks up the little canvas. “She even got your lazy eye, Lukey!”
“I knew it!” Luke gasps, his fingers squeezing at your sides, teasingly.
“Hey!” You shoot up, reaching over the table and snatching it from his grip before turning to your boyfriend. “I did not give you a lazy eye!”
“Did he paint that zit that’s coming in right there,” he points to his temple as his eyes narrow your way - and event though you know you don’t have a zit coming in, you bring your hand up to cover the side of your face, anyway.
“She doesn’t have a zit,” Luke defends you before you can do it, yourself, and your features soften just a touch when you glance his way.
“Let me see-,”
Jack reaches out for Luke’s painting, and the two of you leap forward to yank it away before he can get his hands on it, yelling out, “No!” In unison.
“It can’t be that bad, Luke,” he snorts, eyes narrowing on you in particular as your cheeks burn with embarrassment - it’s not like they’re your actual boobs, and it’s not like they’re even anatomically accurate, but you don’t want Jack of all people seeing you portrayed like that. “Mom kept your paintings on the fridge at home until like two years ago, I know you’re a shitty artist.”
“M’not a shitty artist,” Luke grumbles, specifically turning to you as you both still clutch one hand each at the canvas.
“I know, baby,” you coo, your tone overtly-sweet and sickly in a bid to make Jack’s stomach turn - and make him go away, “Don’t listen to Mr. Meany, he doesn’t get you like I do,” and then you lean back in to kiss him, your pout turning into a grin when you hear his brother’s exaggerated gagging from the other side of the table.
“You both make me sick,” he huffs as you hear him leave, and you and Luke resume your previous position, fingers loosening on the painting until it drops to the floor. His hands clutch at your hips, and yours move to settle on the broad expanse of his chest to balance yourself a little better, shuffling until you’re straddling his lap - and still so consumed by your love for him that you couldn’t care less who else might end up disrupting you.
“We could rent some bikes?”
Luke’s suggestion comes out in a muffled yell, his head half in a large storage box in the garage as he roots around for god-knows what, and you perch yourself on the workbench by the side while you wait for him.
The two of you have been trying to figure out how to spend the day together - the other boys having taken the boat out with their friends - so many friends that there wasn’t space for you to tag along and Luke didn’t want to leave you behind on your own.
It’s beautiful out, and you had wanted to go out on the boat, so everything else seems dull in comparison.
A trip to the mall is a waste of the sunshine, even though you sort of want to visit the bookstore, and spend hours just walking around and holding Luke’s hand, and going to the park just seems boring, even if you do rent some bikes while you’re there. It would get tiring pretty quick, and as much as you think you could spend time doing nothing with Luke and still be happy, you sort of had your heart set on something else.
“I don’t know if I trust you not to fall off,” you tell him, swinging your legs as you place your palms flat on the surface, leaning forward to try and get a look at what on earth he’s doing. “What are you even looking for in there?”
“I’ll tell you when I find ‘em,” he mumbles, and you roll your eyes, looking around the rest of the garage and waiting for an idea to spark.
“What about that boat?” You point to the smaller vessel, covered in a faded tarp and perched on a rusted trailer.
It’s a lot smaller than the other boat the boys take out - probably fits two or three people, max, from what you can see of it, and a lot older, too - but if it gets you out on the water with Luke, and you can lay beside him as it sways on the tranquil water, skin to skin while the sun shines down on you - it’ll do.
“That’s Quinn’s,” Luke tells you as he retreats from the box, putting the lid back in place before he moves on to the next one down. “I’ve been explicitly told that if I touch it, I die.”
“Why does Quinn have his own boat?” You ask, jumping up and stepping towards it.
“Don’t know,” Luke calls a little louder, knowing you’re further away without even checking, like he has an instinct for where you are at all times. “Came home one summer and it was just in our parent’s garage, Dad said if he didn’t move it, it was getting sold, so it just sits in here.”
“And he doesn’t use it?”
“Can’t,” Luke shrugs, “I’m pretty sure it’s written off, I think it was just a project to keep him busy when he was injured or something, he hasn’t touched it in a while.”
“Why doesn’t he sell it, then?”
“Don’t know, not his keeper, babe,” Luke’s voice is a little clearer, now, and you crane your neck back to see him standing up straight, a pair of old rollerblades in his hands and a big grin on his face. “I could teach you to skate?”
You gasp as you make your way back over, “Are they my size?”
“They used to be mine, so they might be a little long, but we can pad your feet up with socks.”
“Is it the same as skating on the ice?”
“The mechanics are pretty much the same,” Luke shrugs, handing you the rollerblades so he grab some of the pads that were in the box with them and close it back up, “But if you master this, we’ll get you some actual skates, and I’ll take you down to the rink to teach you.”
Ice skating is never something you’d considered before - even when you would watch Luke play, the thought of it was always daunting - but since the start of summer, you sort of like learning all the stuff Luke knows or loves. You like watching him play golf, like listening to him nerd out about his historical movies, like playing chess for some reason, as dorky as that is, and you even enjoyed Star Wars when the two of you managed to sit down together and watch all of the films - and skating seems like the final boss, in a way.
It’s exciting, like the last piece of a puzzle.
“Might have to get your dad to teach me,” you suggest, “You fall too much for me to learn from you.”
He teasingly swats at your ass with a pad, and you snort out a laugh when you see the amusement shining in his pretty eyes, leaning up when he bends a little to kiss you chastely.
“It’s part of the Hughes charm,” he mutters just after your lips part, “You’ll fit right in.”
And you try to ignore the way your heart hammers at the thought of fitting right in with the Hughes clan in a way you never really did with your own. Despite your previous problems with Jack, and despite Quinn’s newfound hobby for cockblocking you all summer, you honestly think they’re accepting of you too.
And that’s without taking into account Luke’s parents, who welcomed you back to Michigan with open arms, even if your place in Luke’s life wasn’t this solid the last time they saw you last summer.
For the first time in your life you do fit right in, and you’d be doing yourself a disservice to deny it.
You’d be doing Luke one, too.
So all you can do is smile as he leads you out into the driveway, and he sets up a little course for you to practice your skating - cones and obstacles that you do your best not to trip and stumble over, but when you do, he picks you straight back up, dusts you off, and lets you go again.
He’s patient, and he’s gentle, just like he’s always been with you, and if this is what it’s like to be a Hughes, - and as crazy as it sounds considering how fresh your relationship still technically is - you have a fleeting thought that one day you’d want to be one, for real.
“Do you think Jersey’s nicer than New York?”
You’ve been an anxious mess for the entire week before you and Luke flew out to stay with your mom - irritable and snippy and emotional - but now that you’re here, things seem to have settled.
It’s only a long weekend - three days and you can go back to the safety and security of the lake house, with the rest of the summer ahead of you and every passing day having you fall more and more in love with Luke Hughes - and your mom is actually being good company for once.
She’s present, having taken time off of work to make sure she’s around to properly acquaint herself with the first boyfriend you’ve ever brought home, and she’s sober, and she’s actively trying to get to know him.
The two of them have pretty much ticked off every other topic of conversation by the time she gets to your big move, and you can’t even let yourself stress about it.
You’re sat in between Luke’s legs on a chair out in the backyard, your stomach full of barbecue food, a cold bottle of beer gripped between your fingers, and your back pressed firmly to his chest, and there’s no way you think you even could still feel anxious in such a position.
Luke somehow manages to rinse those feelings straight out of you with just one touch.
For as much grief as your mom gave you when you first came home at the beginning of summer, you think your time away might have calmed her about the whole NYU thing - and maybe seeing you with Luke, seeing how sturdy and serious the two of you are, is quelling her fears, too.
“I mean I haven’t lived in New York, so I might not be a fair judge on that,” he chuckles, “But I like it. Feels a lot more relaxed, I think.”
“And you live with your brothers?”
“Just one of ‘em,” he says, “Jack, he plays on the same team as me,”
“So the two of you won’t be moving in with each other,”
“Mom,” you cringe, rolling your eyes at her even asking such a question when you’ve literally sat her down and talked her through your shared housing options.
“Not yet,” Luke says, easily, and you turn back a little at how casual he sounds about it.
The two of you haven’t really talked about it - not in depth, at least. He has no intentions of moving out of his and Jack’s place, as far as you know, and you’re definitely not moving in - the lake house during summer is bad enough in his brother’s company, no matter how civil the two of you have become.
“Not yet?”
“Well, it isn’t not ever,” he snorts, “I think we’re quite good at living together, I’d like to do it again. Would much rather live with you than live with Jack for the rest of my life.”
As if it’s that simple. The rest of his life.
“She’s a great cook,” your mom chimes in, like he needs her making a pros list. “And she always picks the nicest smelling detergent for laundry, I always get compliments on my uniform at work.”
“Mom,”
“She never forgets anything from the store, either, even when it’s not in her notes,” Luke adds - because clearly he already has a list. “Like I’ll be cursing myself thinking it’s too late to let her know we don’t have salsa, and I forgot to tell her in the first place, but she always remembers anyway."
“Oh my god-,”
“Exactly!”
And Luke’s arms tighten around you, a teasing embrace that you don’t really want to shake, not now, not ever. “If she’ll still have me by then, I think we’d revisit it next summer, but at least we’re closer now than we were before. I’ll still be around for her.”
Your mom smiles softly at his clear adoration for you, and when she meets your eye, you feel a sudden wave of relief wash through you. There’s something in her gaze that reads like approval - and for a woman who, this time last year, told you that there isn’t a single man out there worth your time, or who won’t hurt you - she doesn’t have to say anything for you to know she’s eating her words. For a woman who lost all faith in forever when she divorced your dad, you’re grateful to see her entertaining the idea of it when it comes to you and Luke.
“Don’t worry, I think she’ll keep you around,” she reassures him, a subtle wink sent his way as your cheeks go burning hot - and you divert your gaze to avoid the depth of her perception, eyes lingering on the softened pink hues of the summer sunset you all came out to watch.
You think you’ll keep him, too.
“This is so fancy,” you sigh, something between awe and anxiety swirling through your brain at just how nice this restaurant is - so different to all the other date nights you and Luke have spent together over the course of the summer.
But summer is coming to an end, and Luke said he wanted to try something different.
“My mom told me about it,” he replies, eyes glancing up from his menu to meet yours, “Which I realise loses me cool points, but I promise she has good taste.”
“Your mom is cool, babe,” you laugh, “No points lost.”
“I mean, it’s better than the club, right?”
It’s definitely better than the club - and not only because you’re not reminded of having to work there last summer every time you tag along with Luke for an afternoon on the course, or a trip to the bar.
“Yeah,” you smile softly to reassure him, “It’s nice, it’s just weird, I think.”
“Weird?” He frowns.
“Not like weird,” you’re quick to cover your tracks at the sight of his expression, like a wounded animal, and guilt nips at your stomach. He’s trying to do something nice. He’s giving you a chance to get all dressed up, and he sent you to get your hair blow-dried at one of the nicer salons in town, and it is a treat to be pampered.
You just sort of like all the other stuff the two of you have been getting up to a little more.
But you can put on your big girl pants and enjoy it, for his sake.
“I just mean like, I feel like I need Duolingo to help me out with this thing,” you chuckle, waving the menu a little in your hands.
You need to be more grateful, you think.
He’s making such an effort.
In one of his nicest suits, tailored to perfection - and the two of you had a little bit of a walk from the car, you got to see how good his ass looked when he paid for the meter a couple blocks away, bending to read the machine and giving you the perfect view - he honestly looks so good it’s almost alarming.
And you think you do, too. You feel good, at least - especially with how Luke looked at you when he came out of the bathroom and saw you in this dress back in the house. Black satin, a sweetheart neckline just begging for his gaze to linger, and it fits like a glove, too - you swear he was starting to drool at one point.
“Yeah, it’s a little excessive, actually,” he sighs, his finger hooking into the knot of his tie and loosening it a little.
“Baby, I promise, it’s nice-,” you reach over to wrap your fingers around his hand, and it turns, palm-up, until you can properly interlace yours with his. “I’m just not used to this sort of place, but it’s gorgeous, I really appreciate all the effort you put into tonight.”
“I’m sorry that it’s the first time we’ve done it,” he frowns, “I promise I’ll try and do better-“
“Wait, what?”
Do better?
You don’t think for a second he ever has to try?
This summer has been like a dream, and the dates the two of you have gone on have far surpassed anything you’ve ever experienced in any other relationship.
Nights together watching movies - a routine the two of you kept up every Sunday, and even more throughout the week - even if that was with his brothers, or his friends, or even his parents, a couple times.
Days out on the lake, wake surfing, or just treading water. Swimming, socialising, sailing, sunbathing - a maintained sense of calm providing comfort over the past few months that you wouldn’t trade for the world.
Mini golf, portrait painting, lego building, cooking together, shopping together, even nights as a group, doing whatever activities anybody else wanted to do.
You don’t think you’ve ever been so happy - and Luke is at the core of it all.
“You don’t have to do anything better.”
“I just feel like all our dates so far haven’t been super involved,” he sighs, “Like I fought so hard to get you, I should be trying harder to keep you.”
“Where is this coming from?”
“Jack said-,”
And you can’t help it - in as serious of an environment as this is - you reach over the table and swat at his head with your menu. It’s really more of a light tap, but the surprise of it jolts him a little, widened eyes staring back at you.
“What the hell?”
“I thought we knew better than to listen to Jack, babe.”
“But he said-,”
“Don’t make me hit you again.”
He narrows his eyes your way, a warning, almost, and you roll your own eyes in response, a quick squeeze of your hand to let him know he can carry on.
“He said he makes a point of being the one to take charge of the dates, ‘cause Ellie told him it makes her feel valued. And I know we don’t listen to Ellie, either,” and thank god he does, you think - because for as much as you’ve forgiven the both of them for the gigantic mess they made of yours and Luke’s relationship back in the Spring, Jack and Ellie are still gigantic morons, and their relationship couldn’t be any further from yours if they tried. “But it just made me thing back on all the stuff we have done together this summer, and how I sort of left it to you to take the reins.”
You suppose that’s technically true - a lot of times you came up with the ideas, but it’s not like he never contributed. It’s not like he never made an effort, or you felt like he didn’t care.
“You do realise I like being in control, right?” You ask, your lips twisting a little to soften the blow when he meets your eyes again, and you drop your menu to free up your other hand, leaning forward and reaching for his free hand, too.
“I’m very aware, actually,” he snorts, and you’re sort of relieved to hear it - because you know deep down that you and Luke understand each other on a deeper level than you’ve ever experienced before, and to hear him second guessing it sort of stings. “And I like you being in control,” he adds, thank god. “I just feel like I always leave it to you to organise stuff like this, without even realising I’m doing it, and I guess I feel bad.”
“I like looking after this stuff, Luke,” you admit, a little sheepish, though you don’t really know why. Maybe it’s leaving this sort of unspoken for so long, or maybe it’s past experiences of guys who would feel emasculated by you adding, “I like looking after you.”
“Really?”
“Is that so hard to believe?”
“I don’t know,” he pouts, “I guess I just thought you’d want to be with someone who looked after you,”
“You do.” You assure him, and you could probably list a thousand ways in which he’s already proven that. “Looking after me goes beyond dates,” you tell him, “It’s about how you make me feel.”
“And how do I make you feel?”
You’re thankful to see the way a slow, sure smile creeps up on his face - like whatever thoughts Jack had infected him with before - whether intentionally or not - have been eradicated.
“You know how you make me feel,” you smile back.
“Yeah,” he nods, self assured and seriously sexy. “Still want you to say it, though.”
“How about we get out of here and you let me show you, instead?”
And you don’t think you’ve ever seen him move so quick.
He’s practically dragging you out of the restaurant in under a minute, making sure to thank and tip the maître d' on the way, and the two of you barely make it back to his car before he’s pouncing - his kiss firm, his adoration clear, and your love continuing to grow with every waking moment you spend in his company.
“Is that the last box?” You ask as Luke places it gently down beside the others he’s just hauled up to your apartment from the truck he rented to have your stuff shipped over from storage in Michigan.
He’s been pretty insistent on helping you move in - he’s been pretty insistent on helping with everything, and you couldn’t be more grateful for his input, if you’re honest.
He’d come out to Jersey to check out potential apartments with you, had given advice on all the best areas, with all the best travel access to get yourself across the river - because the thought of living in a different state again, despite just how close the two of them are, just didn’t sit right with you when it came to deciding where you’d live while you went to graduate school.
And now he’s brought up every single box without you having to lift a finger - so far from the slinged up version of him you’d started your summer with a few months ago, which is really wonderful to see. He’s worked really hard to rehab his injury, and you’re so proud of all of his progress, beyond using it to your own advantage.
You can’t wait to spend the next year watching him thrive.
He makes you so happy you could probably burst if you give it too much thought.
“Yep,” he smiles, and he flexes his muscles at you with a suggestive wiggle of his brows, “You think me bringing all these up 5 flights of stairs is enough for people to start thinking I have the potential to bulk?”
“I’d say you’re plenty bulky,” you say, beaming up as you practically skip over to him, placing your hands on his muscular chest and leaning to press a kiss to his lips, “Gonna miss my big strong boyfriend while you’re away for the weekend.”
Him and his brothers have a little trip planned for the three of them, and as much as you want to spend your first few nights in your new apartment with him, you know how important it is leading into the season that they get their sibling time in - especially with Quinn.
“I’ll come straight here when I get back on Monday,” he promises, kissing you again and again until you start to feel a little dizzy, his strong, calloused grip on your waist guiding you back towards the couch that the landlord left behind for you - and while you’re quite keen to christen a few of the spaces while you have the chance, you can’t contain your excitement for much longer.
“I got you a present.”
“I’m supposed to get you something, I’m pretty sure,” he scoffs, watching as you spin on your heels, retreat back to the table you were standing at when he came in, and come back over to him - placing something small and cold in his palm.
A key.
A key to your apartment.
“So you don’t have to call ahead.” You tell him, although obviously it means much more than that.
He smiles - that same pretty smile that got you hooked over a year ago, now - and you smile straight back.
He lifts his hands to cup at your beaming cheeks, the cool metal of the key pressing into your skin - not that you mind - as he pulls you in to kiss you, again. His excitement is clear, and you're quickly consumed by the familiar thumping of your heart that will never go away when you're around him.
Finally the two of you have somewhere you don’t have to worry about interruptions, or rushing, or hiding away.
Finally you have somewhere - and someone - that’s just yours.

In Defense of Donnie's Gifts
I'm ngl I sorta think the shock collar was still just an odd writing decision but as far as PREMISE:
It CANNOT be a coincidence that this is the first time (and one of VERY few times) that Donnie's soft shell is referenced. Once, when Raph is hesitating to tell Donnie his gifts suck ass, and he uses the soft shell metaphor, and after that with Meat Sweats and his paprika, describing it as not just soft, but delicate. Weird, but he is a cannibal, so. (Side note, Meat Sweats never removed his battle shell? How does he know? Or did he take it off and replace it after the pound of butter? Is he using it to facilitate steaming and tenderness? Is it broken? I feel like it should have something in there that could break him out of the sausage links)
Then in that last little scene- "Forget it. You guys are great the way you are!" - we get the shot of Donnie from behind pre group hug, with his brothers facing the camera. (Idk if I'm making shit up, but I feel like this is a staple for Donnie episodes? It def happens in the Purple Game, maybe Smart Lair.) The framing draws attention to his battle shell. The battle shell even kinda matches the gifts, compared to the rest of their gear and even Donnie's tech, color coded and way more streamlined than stuff like the tech bo.
Donnie's soft shell is an innate, unchangeable part of him, a feature of his species, that he treats as a handicap. Probably MORE unchangeable than the character traits he sees as holding his brothers back, which they do sorta... not mature out of, but refine, rather, over the course of the show. Donnie's shell can't experience a character arc, but he sees it as holding him back. So he FIXES it.
The Mad Dogs don't really have a motivation for beating stuff up besides "Hero Time!!!" at this point. That's why it's so interesting how EARLY this happens, unlike with Mind Meld, he isn't trying to change his brothers to make them better at a task that he actually CARES about. Donnie in particular never gets a super intense moral compass besides stuff that threatens people he already cares about, and he doesn't have any grudges (no Purple Dragons) at this point in the series. Hero Goals are largely devices for him to hang out with his dum dum brothers. I'm not diagnosed or anything but my vibes are certainly... Spectrum-Adjacent, I definitely have trouble with literal thinking and reading people. One thing that happens sometimes is people will be using "task" as "reason to hang," and I will get a lot more fixated on completing said task than I really should, to the point of annoying people. I confuse "Successful Task Completion" with "Successful Social Interaction." It makes me come across as bossy and controlling without realizing it.
So, we got a Donnie who thinks Arbitrary Goals are essential to Hero Bonding, who has been treating his life like an mmorpg - armor upgrades, skill trees, grinding, sometimes fighting through random dungeons to hang out with his bros. He's probably even slightly better at Fighting Stuff than his brothers atp, he isn't dealing with a mystic learning curve and his special interest has been Weapons of Mild Destruction for years already. His brothers want to level up, take harder missions, he tries to get them there with his access to High Level Loot.
Of course, his brothers are all min-maxing, not trying to multiclass their purple ass out of squishy glass cannon town. So, it doesn't go well. Unfortunately, the lesson Donnie learns (besides brotherly affection) is that his brothers don't NEED fixing like he does. Mind Meld and Donnie vs. Witch Town sorta finish this arc out as best as the series can.
Where I would have liked to see this go:
A S2 Donnie's Gifts or Mind Meld style episode (Donnie tries to improve his brothers, to their dismay) where the motivator isn't goal completion, but protectiveness. We see a bit of the fear in Purple Game, a bit of the contingency planning with the escape pods in the movie. Maybe a more upfront "training montage" type scenario, a high tech robo dojo to develop their mad skills, or just a tense moment after a skin of their teeth Genius Built rescue.
The brothers confront Donnie eventually-- not just the passive conflict resolution of Donnie's Gifts. They get mad. Push Donnie to the point he's at in Turtle-Dega Nights. They get a rant about not wanting them to get hurt, of course, but also that he's already done so much to FIX himself, make sure he's not a LIABILITY, why can't they at least try to stay SAFE? The dangers are real now, and as far as Donnie knows he REALLY can't do anything about threats like the Shredder. His tech did nothing the first time. His brothers are the ones with the mystic mojo, and they don't even realize how SERIOUS things could get.
Anyway. Protective Donatello my Beloved. Let my boy go apeshit.
//I REALLY Like the 2003 episode where Leo is hurt and Donnie is fucking PISSED at Usagi. All Donnies should be allowed to enter a feral protective rage, as a treat.
//If anyone knows of any Purple Game Aftermath fics lmk. Like, going home, getting donnie out of the evil gamer chair, guilt, whatever. or just good Purple Dragons being Assholes content.

I’m not being mean - Head Coach Leah x Arsenal! r (+18)
Summary: Coach! Leah punishes the reader during a forbidden make-out session.
Warnings: +18!!!!!! dominant!L x lots of kissing x fingering x reader being needy and L being mean x little bit of aftercare.
Word count: 1.2k.
Masterlist here
I'm kinda new to the Woso world, so I don't know if you guys like fics like this... but I'm a slut for dominant woman so yeah :D.
..
Leah’s tongue was wet and warm against Y/n’s mouth, her icy hand gripping the youngest girl’s hip, pulling her closer as Leah deepened the kiss.
Y/n moaned, tilting her head to give Leah room to explore her neck. The blonde woman found her lips at Y/n’s jugular, sucking it lightly.
“Don’t,” Y/n whined, pushing Leah away slightly. “You can’t leave marks, or the other will see them.”
“Use a turtleneck,” Leah mumbled unrepentantly, pulling Y/n closer, her mouth back on her neck.
“I can’t use a turtleneck for training,” Y/n said, her words and moans blending together. “That’s so good, Leah, more.” She whispered, opening her legs and grinding against Leah’s knee.
Leah smirked. Y/n was just like that, always worried about everything and everyone, but as soon as Leah touched her, she went limp.
Leah had agreed to become Arsenal’s manager after a career-ending injury had shattered her world. It took her some time to accept her new life, but Leah couldn’t say she was unhappy. The ex-lioness had been very successful in her new role. She led Arsenal to many victories, cups, and titles.
Unfortunately, being a manager also meant that Leah couldn’t kiss Y/n, the new Arsenal signing for the season.
Leah and Y/n didn’t get along at first. Leah was too grumpy and Y/n too enthusiastic. Y/n had said they were like a black cat and a golden retriever. Leah disagreed; she didn’t like cats.
The truth was: Leah and Y/n didn’t get on. Leah was rude when Y/n was kind. Leah was confident when Y/n was not. If they spent too much time talking, they would argue, so that’s when the make out sessions came in.
When the two women were making out, nothing else mattered. It was as if their bodies had known each other for centuries. Leah knew where to touch Y/n and the young girl was quick to do whatever Leah wanted of her.
Leah stopped their kiss to pull at Y/n shirt. It was dirty with grass and dirty from the pitch, but she didn’t care. “Fuck, you’re so hot,” Leah whispered, looking at Y/n’s chest. The girl was wearing a smaller training bra, her erected nipples drawing Leah's attention.
The blonde quickly stripped Y/n’s down to her shorts, her mouth sucking on Y/n’s breast as Y/n rubbed herself even harder against Leah’s leg.
“Can I leave a mark here, love?” Leah asked teasingly, grinding in her teeth on Y/n’s nipple before taking it with her teeth.
Love.
Leah only called Y/n love when they were like... this. Y/n didn’t mind, or at least she told herself she didn’t mind that the only time Leah was affectionate towards her was when they were having sex.
Y/n was ripped from her thoughts as she felt Leah’s firm grip on her jaw. “Look at me,” Leah said. “If I ask you a question, you answer it immediately, understand?”
Y/n nodded, moaning as Leah gave her a sharp slap on her ass. It would have hurt even more if she hadn’t been wearing her Arsenal shorts.
“Good girl,” Leah smiled, kissing Y/n again, more intensely.
Leah was clearly more dominant than Y/n. She liked to boss people around and hated it when they didn’t do what she wanted. Leah fucking loved it having the upper hand.
Y/n liked being told what to do, she enjoyed when Leah treated her like she was just a stupid horny girl.
Leah knew the effect she had on the girl’s body, knew how wet Y/n’s pussy got when she was a bit mean to her.
“I want you, please.” Y/n murmured against Leah’s ear. The throbbing in her pussy was getting too much, it hurt.
“I don’t think you deserve it,” Leah bit Y/n’s earlobe. “You forget your boots again, didn’t you? That’s why you were a bit clumsy on the field today.
Y/n had a bad habit of forgetting things, being late… all the things Leah hated.
“I—I’m sorry, it won’t happen again,” Y/n promised, whimpering as Leah’s finger finally found its way into to clit. “There, please.” The girl moved herself against Leah’s hand, trying to find more friction.
“You say that every time, love, you never learn, do you?”
Leah noticed that Y/n’s legs were shaking, so she held Y/n tighter against her, teasing Y/n’s wet hole. She put a finger, and then another, Moving them slowly.
“I do learn,” Y/n tried to protest.
“No, you don’t, you need me to remind you of everything, just a little puppy you are.” Leah whispered in Y/n’s ears, her warm walls welcoming Leah’s third finger.
“Please, Leah, let me? Please?” Y/n begged, feeling an orgasm approaching. It was as if her chest was tightening, as if there wasn’t enough air for her to breathe.
“Are you close, love?” Leah asked, cupping Y/n’s face and kissing her mouth softly.
Y/n nodded, moving her hips, feeling Leah’s fingers deep inside her.
Just a little more and she would come, just a little more.
“Too bad, not today, darling,” Leah said, removing her finger from Y/n’s pussy as she held the girls hip firmly, scared that Y/n would fall.
“What?!” Y/n cried. “No, more!” Y/n begged as she closed her hands around Leah’s and cupped them on her pussy. “Don’t be mean, please, more.”
Leah quickly grabbed Y/n’s wrists with one hand while holding her jaw with the other. “I’m not being mean, you were the one who left your things at home, this is your punishment.”
Y/n looked at Leah desperately. She was almost there; her tights were already shaking with need.
“I’ve already said I’m sorry,” Y/n grumbled looking down, her cheeks wet.
Leah wiped away her tears, kissed her forehead and pulled the girl into a hug.
“You know I don’t like you crying like that,” Leah said as she sat in her chair, Y/n on her lap. Leah put a comforting hand on Y/n’s back and let the girl cry for a while.
“Come on, let’s get you dressed, shall we?” Leah kissed Y/n’s cheek as she helped the girl back into her training clothes.
Y/n didn’t say a word, she just let Leah do as she pleased.
The blonde women took some tissues to wipe Y/n’s face. “I’m sorry I cried, I know you don’t like it,” Y/n mumbled, placing her head on Leah’s shoulder.
“It’s okay,” Leah told her. “Are you all right now?”
Y/n nodded. “Yeah, I’m fine. I should probably get going.” Y/n lifted herself form Leah’s lap, but the older women held her down.
“You don’t have to go now, you can stay here a little longer, just so I can make sure you’re really ok.”
Leah might be grumpy and distant, but she gave good aftercare.
“I know you have things to do,” Y/n gave Leah a sad smile. “I have to go home anyway.”
“All right then,” Leah agreed, taking her hands off Y/n.
Y/n was still a bit shaky, but she didn’t want Leah to see it. It was hard to let yourself be vulnerable with someone, and even harder when your feelings weren’t reciprocated.
Leah got up and opened the door to her office, taking a quick look outside to see if anyone was around. No one could know about Leah and Y/n, or well, now about their sex arrangement.
“No one is here, you can go,” Leah said, no more softness in her voice. She was back to being the team’s Manager. “I’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
Y/n walked out the door. “Yeah, bye,” she mumbled.
“Don’t forget your boots again.” That was the last thing Leah said before closing the door, leaving Y/n alone in the corridor.

My heart absolutely breaks for (name) in the ‘Hold me, console me’ au, like they’ve gotten the short end of the stick entirely.
If the Batfam do like try to reconcile, I don’t think it could ever end well at all. Of course, it never really does in Batfam aus, but in this one especially it’s just so tragic.
(Name) can literally never have a normal family, even in ‘reconciliation’ the family employ the same treatment they use on D/n and M/n but it’s even worse on (Name) because they aren’t some little kid or a mother, no they’re an emotionally unstable teenager who has no qualms with absolutely destroying anyone’s self-esteem.
It’d probably be difficult but also really eye-opening for Bruce as well, that he’s made his child feel so unwanted that they reject everyone and make absolutely no effort to reciprocate anything the Batfam do at all.
You made this so well I should give the story right to you frfr/j
Anyways
Let me just write this on my phone Grammarly.
"may you never forget me" By Temachii

So much more.
Special
3rd POV
It would be hard to track the [name] [last name] down, even if their face is on all the billboards that could be seen across the world.
They had become very popular in a matter of three years, three years of leaving Wayne Manor.
No surprise to them that no one tried to contact them through messages only that mother-daughter duo that seemed desperate. However, they couldn't help but facepalm at their own stupidity of not leaving Alfred a way to contact them.
But after tracking bombs, bomb threats, and villains, well, tracking down one big face in the world shouldn’t be hard for the vigilantes of the most crime-rated city.
That's what Bruce Wayne thought, he never thought that his child would arm their security so well, that it might as well have two arms. (THAT DUDE)
However, through peer luck, they found a breakthrough (they found them and followed them home).
[name] was surprised when their doorbell rang, one of their maids offered to get it but she refused and made their way to the door, opening to a family reunion outside or something.
“It’s time to stop this madness and come home [name], you’re putting a bad name on us.” Damian huffed peeking at the interior of this massive apartment/penthouse complex.
He couldn’t help but be a wee bit impressed, not only because these apartments seemed so expensive, it’s also that on top of owning this place they also owned the whole building.
“I hate to admit this, but Damian’s right. Don’t be a child [name], so what if we didn’t give you attention? Shouldn’t you understand we’re busy? Even finding the time to come here and retrieve you has impacted our schedules” Tim scolded the 21-year-old like she had used a Sharpie to draw on the wall.
They seemed to believe [name] would fold just by their presence.
‘‘Did you guys come to bring me back or have the door slam shut in your face.” [name] seemed serene but the more these strangers blabbered in their ears, they couldn't help but feel as if nails were on a chalkboard just for the peer satisfaction for themselves to let out their own complaints on the victim.
“Don’t be like that guys, you'll have to forgive them [name] that's just how they are, you know? Listen, [name], mom and [D/D] are worried about you, you don't want them to be nervous you're out here gone with no one keeping an eye on you, let's forget about this and go home." Dick tried to calm the tension but it only increased when he once again covered for mistakes his family made.
[name] could only narrow their eyes at this pathetic attempt to convince them to return to the manor and lock away.
"Even now, it's always, 'you know how they are [name]. You'll have to forgive them [name]. They had a difficult childhood [name]. We had a difficult childhood [name]. Me, me, me. That is all I'm hearing from your "convincing stories." You're ruining our family name, [name]. Stop acting like a child, [name]. Just shut up!" [name]'s words were rushed out sparing them any words of argument. They were breathing heavily regaining their composure.
"That's enough, out of all of you. [name], at the end of the day, those are your brothers, and you, their sibling. Besides, you're too young to be able to leave the house. As your father, I'm telling you to come home. No punishment will happen. You're making [M/D] and [D/D] very distraught, hm?" Bruce stepped in playing the role that was left empty for years.
[name] could only scoff.
"When did you want to be my father figure? Wait- no-, who am I kidding, you're doing this for [M/D] and [D/D] right? This isn't about bringing me home, is it?" [name] could only huff before motioning for the maid and they went to the living room.
“Let’s do this somewhere more comfortable.”
The maid lined up slippers making the family that arrived slip off their outside shoes and glance at each other.
The maid led them to the living room they could only admire the expensive layout before a bulter set a set of tea down at the table making each a cup.
After that heated moment, the atmosphere became awkward with nothing to bring up to kill the quiet tension.
"What made you think I would come back home?" [name] decided to break the silence. Taking a sip of the tea.
"[name], this isn't about [M/D] and [D/D]" Bruce decided to bring up the point they made at the doorway. They didn't give a reaction though, reverting back to the kid that was once hidden in the manor's wall not seen nor heard.
Guess they did learn one thing being there, poker face.
"We all want you home, we came here to apologize, we do want you home. We do. Didn't you love the house? When we go back all the attention will be on you-" Dick was about to approach them, holding their hand like a comforting sibling's, eyes that would convey 'it would all be okay.'
Tim was nodding his head, and Damian was just watching this all go down as he was advised not to speak at the moment since he was driven to say things that would make the situation worse, but can't [name] just see? It's because he also wants them back home.
"Do you think I'm still that child that would beg for a scrap of attention?" [name] wanted them to snap out of their delusions just like they had to, years back.
"For the longest time, I had believed I deserved to be treated like I didn't exist. I was known as [name] Wayne, only by name, only to myself was I even known by that last name. No matter how hard I would tug at someone's sleeve to come to a recital or a performance, and even competition I would only get to see my other competitors get something I didn't even if I was first or the best. familial love." They sat their teacup down.
"So I thought 'they're busy' since that's always the excuse right? I resorted to leaving card invites, and flyers, which didn't work so it may have been the event I was doing. No matter what I switched to, it never mattered. I only stopped when I took more notice of how many invitations I would see in the trash, thrown away like a candy wrapper. You couldn't even imagine how I had such a degrading mindset for myself at that young age."
They looked down at the hands of their lap. Finding it an old habit when they sat alone at the very center of attention of the event they were doing after scanning the crowd just to be disappointed each time.
"Did you even look at what was on the piece of 'useless' paper or did you just see my name and know it was a waste of time?" They stared at all of them, not expecting a response.
Their words sunk so deep into four of the most respected and influential people in the world, the four hero vigilantes.
"I think I've spoken enough for the day, so you'll have to understand my reasoning for not wanting to forgive and reconcile with you and your family, or wanting to go back with you and that those simple words of 'I'm sorry' doesn't fix anything. I'm sure you all are busy. You always are, aren't you?"
"Do see them out." [name] handed a maid their finished cup of tea.
"[name], we do care about you... no matter how many events we missed. We came here for you... didn't we?" Tim crossed his arms.
"How old am I?"
"What?"
"That might be a hard question. Let's give this another go, how old was I when I entered the manor?"
"I don't-"
"That's shocking that Tim does not know something for once."
"Well, that's not fair. I wasn't there when you first entered the house." Damian tried to make a point.
"You're right. When's my birthday."
"..."
"What's the first sport I tried."
"... Soccer? No- wait, ice skating."
It was ballet.
"No. What's the first instrument I played?"
"What's my favorite activity to do?"
"What's my favorite food?"
"When did I get into business?"
"When did I get into the medical field?"
Question after question was left with no answers just blank stares and idiotic guessing attempts.
"How long has it been since I've moved out of the house?"
"... a year at most?" Dick guesses again.
"Three years, I left on my birthday, since you don't remember when that is I'll just tell you it was on my 18th birthday when I became legally of age."
[name] turned to Bruce who kept silent the whole time during this trial, maybe it was because he didn't know the answers, but maybe it was also that even with the question he learned facts about [name] that he brushed aside before.
18th year of age? No. That couldn't be, you, who was once so little roaming around the halls with those small steps?
And that was three years ago, so that makes you what? 21? you could be drinking any day without him knowing.
"So Bruce, am I still too young to be throwing a "fit" running away, are these guys really my siblings and the others while I'm at it? Did you really come here for me? Or are you still lying to my face that you didn't only come here to make [M/D and [D/D] happy?"
They could only sigh at the sight in front of them, the Waynes acting shocked like this information came out of someone's left ass cheek.
"Send my regards to Alfred and I guess [M/D] and [D/D] I can see why they don't like it there, you're treating me like how you would with them, acting as if I'm incompetent, unable to do anything for myself. I pity them, I do."
With that, the mission was deemed a failure.
Escorted out of the building with the Valet driver handing over their cars.
Originally this was supposed to be a chapter before I started putting more ideas for my So Much More series. There will probably be a chapter like this but different as the chapter 3 I'm making is a major plot twist.
Also, I wanted MC to be calm in any situation and level-headed so that is also why this wasn't going to become a chapter until I saw this really amazing request!
I hope the request was done correctly halfway through writing this I was like 'Is this even right?' as if I didn't know what was going on in my own story.
I also didn’t include all of the family members bc that would be to many so we’ll just say they had missions and didn’t want anything to happen to [M/D] and [D/D] which making Alfred watch over them.
Also they didn’t sedate [name] as they weren’t able to with the amount of maids and butlers around and [name] is too smart and rich not to hire some sort of security or protection.
I will be working on my SG x DC series next chapter after this but also on fanfiction for another account, I have on Wattpad that I haven't updated in months and wouldn't want my readers over there to be too starved.

Anyway, with all that said and done tysm for reading!
(The interior of the penthouse/apartment I was imagining- can you tell I like K-Drama?)

(I'm not sure if you guys wanted to be tagged in this since it is not another part but just a special but here's a tag list)

Following the anon i sent so I was thinking that singer!reader has always struggled with loving her like thighs and stomach or smt but hear me out if you’re comfortable with it maybe some mentions of self harm like
A scenario
So reader and Chris are laying in bed cuddling or some shit and he’s like tracing his fingers up and don on her thighs and he notices her scars orrr
They’re laying and he compliments her and she goes on a rampage of how she’s not and how ugly her stomach is or smt
⋆.˚✮ rapper!chris knows how to make singer!reader feel pretty
tw: mentions of body image issues
you're sat on the edge of the couch in chris' big living room, scrolling through photos on your phone. your gaze lingers a little too long on a paparazzi picture of yourself from last weekend, your legs prominently featured. a familiar wave of self-doubt washes over you, and before you can stop yourself, you mutter under your breath, "fuck, my thighs look huge."
chris, who’s been freestyling under his breath while jotting down lyrics in his notebook across the couch, freezes mid-bar. his head snaps up, and his eyes narrow, like he can’t believe what he just heard.
"hold up, what'd you say ma?"
you glance at him, trying to play it off. "nothing, forget it," you mumble wearily as you shake your head.
"nah, nah, we ain't doin' that." he gets up, his notebook abandoned on the coffee table, and strides over to you. "what’s this bullshit 'bout your thighs?”
you sigh, trying to avoid his gaze, but chris crouches down in front of you, his icy blue eyes locking onto yours.
"they’re just... big," you mumble. "like, bigger than they should be."
chris scoffs like you just insulted his entire existence. "bigger than they should be? mama, stop fuckin' wit me right now."
you try to laugh, but it’s weak. "i’m serious, chris. i see all these girls online with these slim legs, and then there’s me. i just feel...i dunno...out of place, i guess."
he sits beside you, shaking his head, still looking like he’s offended on your thighs’ behalf. "you’re trippin'. hard. have y'seen yourself? like, really looked at y'self? 'cause if y'did," he says, reaching out to lightly squeeze one of your thighs, "you’d know your thighs are perfect. thick, pretty, sexy as hell—are you serious?"
your cheeks heat up, and you roll your eyes, but he’s just getting started.
"y'know what your thighs say to me?” he continues and smirks a bit, leaning in. "they tell me you're perfect, tell me y'got the full package. tell me you’re built like a model, and that i’d be a dumbass not to appreciate you."
you can’t help but laugh at his over-the-top delivery, and he grins, knowing he’s getting through to you as he brushes his fingers lightly over the smooth skin on your thigh.
"listen baby," he starts, using his free hand to gently cup your jaw and turn your face to his, "i know the world tries to tell girls all this bullshit 'bout what they’re supposed to look like, but lemme tell you sum'n real: you are it for me. all o'you. those thighs you’re trippin' over? they’re one of my favorite things 'bout you."
he moves his hand down to your knee, his thumb drawing little circles. "so stop comparin' yourself to edited pictures on the internet, aight? you’re real, 'n you’re beautiful, 'n if anyone’s got a problem wit' that, they can see me 'bout it."
your chest feels lighter, the weight of insecurity lifting under his unwavering gaze and heartfelt words. you smile, finally meeting his eyes.
"okay," you whisper.
"okay?" he teases. "that’s it? after i jus' dropped the most fire compliments of all time?"
you laugh again, swatting his arm. "thank you, chris. really."
"'course," he says, pressing a sweet kiss to your forehead. "now stop geekin', i gotta go write a verse 'bout how my girl’s got the finest thighs in the game."
you roll your eyes, but your smile lingers long after he’s returned to his notebook on the other side of the couch.
𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: i'm not comfortable writing about self harm, so i hope this was good!
thank you for reading!! <3

Hey Look At This Comic: Calvin and Hobbes
I liked the idea of putting some more daily strip comics into my rss reader, and gocomics DOES post old strips in sequence every day (keeping archival materials in lively circulation 👍), and there IS a site that generates an rss feed for gocomics (they don't provide rss feeds themselves because they want you to subscribe 👎) so, I added the current Nancy run to my feed, alongside Peanuts and Calvin and Hobbes. a few days later it paid off big time with this strip:

I love this strip, but it's a bit weird, isn't it? I'm sure some people read the way you're "supposed to" move panel to panel in a typical comic: left to right across the top strip, then the middle, then the bottom. Easy. I didn't, though. My eyes darted across the page, circled around the upper left hand panels, before zipping to the big point of interest on the page: that big panel of Calvin's teacher as a great pink alien monster! the second panel in strip two, the view through the spaceship porthole of the alien landscape, got orphaned, turned into something I glanced at after the fact as I pieced the sequence back together.
which might just be how comics reading actually goes, in practice. more recent theories of comics, particularly ones coming out of the Franco-Belgian tradition, suggest we take in the page as a whole first before diving in panel by panel. that bottom left corner is also kind of a privileged position on the page, with a beautifully lumpy and toothy monster filling up almost the whole frame. no wonder my eye was drawn there "ahead of sequence"!
is that a mistake? one of my friends, when I posed the question, thought so, that the strip means to build up to that point but the page composition encourages you to read ahead. She also, intriguingly, suggested to me that even though we enter the strip seeing the whole page, we induce a kind of forgetfulness in ourselves so that we don't get spoiled. when we see the monster, do we already know it's there while experiencing it for the first time? (hypnosis, she suggested to me, is "merely a set of circumstances to help the mind do a set of things that it already does every day".)
others corroborated the weird reading orders but suggested it was deliberate. for Sarah, the whole left side of the page draws your eye down compositionally, from Spaceman Spiff's (Calvin's alter ego) gloved hands on the wheel, down to the Z shaped mesa, to the monster. this cuts out almost two thirds of the comic! but for her and a few other friends, that made sense: Calvin is daydreaming in class, and the point where his teacher pops up in front of him to demand his attention is a moment of concrete interest in a hazy sea of nonlinear sensation. another friend drew a diagram of an even weirder reading pattern:

actually, I think this makes some sense. theorist Thierry Groensteen's notion of "braiding" in comics suggests that we're constantly recomposing comics in our brains, not just panel by panel, but over the whole corpus of panels, looking for rhymes and resonances and ways the story relates to itself. it feels a little like panels 2 and 3 rhyme, to me. the frames are long and thin more than any of the others, they both have this prominent horizon line, and they both sit on top of panels 4 and 5. they relate to each other, to the point where I see how you could jump from one to the other, then back up the page and over! if I understand Groensteen right, he's not suggesting we necessarily jump around the page this way, I don't want to put words in his mouth, but I do think one of the implications of braiding and of taking in the whole page is that we might get off track and start wandering through time and space... which is exactly what Calvin is doing, after all.
I love that the actual joke of the strip hinges on these two little panels buried at the bottom of the page: the only shot not from Calvin's point of view, of him looking frazzled after Mrs Wormwood's dressing down, and then a little panel of him holding the book. that's braiding too: we understand the previous and future panels because we draw an analogy between all the perspectives we've seen elsewhere of hands (or claws) and get that Calvin is drifting into a daydream again, taking on a new role. the scenario shifts, and the color scheme changes to a complimentary one (red to green), but both daydreams are much more powerful, on the page, than the interruption by reality.
how do you read the page?

Takami Keigo doesn't want to see you.
Of course, he's too well trained to say it in so many words, but when he 'forgets' his session this afternoon, you get the message.
Unfortunately for him, you're stubborn. You show up at his apartment in the dormitories, ring his bell until your fingers numb.
Only then does he crack open the door, just enough for you to catch his forbidding smile, a caustic gleam to his eyes. "What can I help you with, this fine evening?"
"You missed our appointment," you say pleasantly. "This is the third time."
"Oh, must have just slipped my mind," he says with a dismissive little wave. "I'll catch you next time."
The door slams in your face.
Being so curtly dismissed by a top ranking officer should probably send you into a panic, but the stats you pulled up for him after his no-show are even more concerning. This is quickly turning into an emergency, and unfortunately it's your job on the line if he succumbs to corruption.
Who would blame the second most powerful Sentinel alive, when there's a feckless guide as a scapegoat.
"I'm going to ring the bell again," you say, loudly.
After a moment of silence, you think he must not have heard you.
Then the door swings open. "Fine," he snaps.
You follow him to the living room, watch as he drops himself on the couch with a sigh, eyes squeezed shut.
You'd never known guiding to be this much of a chore for Sentinels. Most of your roster is rather clingy and covetous of your time. None of them has ever been late to an appointment with you.
"Well?" he prods. "Get on with it."
You hesitate. The tension he seems to be holding will make this a lot more difficult, strenuous for you both. "Do you maybe want to talk for a bit? Or I could put on some white noise."
He opens his eyes just enough to give you a cutting look. "No."
You surrender with a sigh, coming to sit next to him on the couch. Every Sentinel prefers contact a different way; some want you to hug them, pet their hair, a few have even asked you to kiss them, fuck them, though you've never fulfilled that type of request, your boundaries in this job too firm for it.
You want to ask him what would make this easier for him, but you're sure waiting any longer will only set him off. So, delicately, you take his hand.
The first draw is always the hardest, the corrupt energy being nullified by your own. Some outside force reaching in, invasive despite the relief.
Takami flinches.
You go slower, a soft steady ebb, pulling the poison from him in silken thread.
His hand relaxes in yours.
You reach deeper, welcoming the full flood between you, warmth and light suffusing you both. And it feels how it's supposed to -- natural.
When your watch chimes, signaling the sessions end, Takami blinks out of his stupor. He'd melted during the thirty minutes you worked on him, body curled toward yours, face falling onto your shoulder.
He pulls away swiftly, shocked by his own willingness to lean on you.
You rise, marking off the details of your appointment on your tablet. "I can come back tomorrow, to finish up. You haven't been guided in a long time, so I couldn't get it all in one session. Does 2pm work for you?"
He's not prepared for the question. "Um. Yeah?"
You mark that down as well, then see yourself out.
It takes three more sessions for you to fully clear the corrupted energy from his body. In his haze he admits to you the reason he's so standoffish to Guides, why he dodges his sessions with such fervor.
"It's never felt good. Always felt like I'm being held down, trapped. Made me feel antsy, nervous." He buries his face against your throat, inhaling deeply. You'd started off just holding his hand again, but now he hugs your entire arm against his chest, your fingers twined. "It's not like that with you."
"I'm glad, Mr. Takami," you return. "Please don't ignore my emails from now on."
As you make your notes, you ask him his availability for next month.
He blinks at you. "You're not coming back tomorrow?"
You check your calendar. You'd had to push back several of your regular appointments to make room for the past few days. "I'm booked solid for the next two weeks, at least."
You glance at him, taking in his appearance, his general well being. You reach a hand out to cup his cheek, urging him to meet your eyes. He startles, first, before leaning into your touch.
"You seem fine," you decide, pulling away, already heading for the door. "I'll contact you later about our next session."
He trails after you, linger at the precipice as you take the elevator back down to your floor.
...
He never ignores you emails, after that.
In fact, he sends many of his own. He gets your phone number, somehow. Some days he shows up with coffee, or snacks, sits with you on the couch while you eat.
He's always touching you during those times, brushing hair behind your ears or straightening your shirt collar. Mostly he just holds your hand, playing with your fingers or clutching it in his own lap.
You don't guide him during any of these impromptu visits, too weary from the rest of your overfull schedule -- but you've heard of this type of attachment from other Guides.
Sentinels tend to imprint on guides they have a decent connection with. Part survival instinct, part status seeking. A Sentinel without a guide is doomed. A Sentinel with a high match-rate is likely to be stronger than their peers.
But that's the thing about un-bonded Sentinels, they're always on the lookout for a better Guide, their perfect mate.
Takami is overly attached to you now, but it will pass.
...
Or so you thought.
You're sent out into the aftermath of a battle that rocks the city. Dozens of Sentinels pushed themselves to the breaking point, on the brink of corruption, about to turn into the very monsters they fight to suppress.
You spot Takami in the midst of the wreckage. Exhausted, but giving you a shakey smile when your eyes meet. He limps toward you, so glad to see you, so ready for the safety and warmth of your arms--
Someone calls your name. Urgent, an emergency. Another Sentinel with no one to take care of them.
You turn away from Takami, and you go.
He'd fought hard, but his body has grown used to the abuse over the years. He's in bad shape, but it's not life-threatening like some of the others you help today.
It's hours before you can see him.
Slumped on a curb, hands folded neatly in his lap. Like he's been waiting so patiently for you this whole time.
You come to your knees before him, letting him take your hands, draw you closer. "Why didn't you go to another Guide?"
Surely he could have found someone else, despite the chaos of the scene. If not you, one of the high ranking Guides, slotted exclusively for S-rank Sentinels.
He looks at you, trembling, confused. "I don't want another Guide."
When he asks if you'll hold him, you do. You take him in your arms, let his weight settle on you. Feel his warmth all around you, his breath against your shoulder.
"And I don't want you to guide anyone else," he murmurs.
You stroke his nape. "I know. I'm sorry. You'll find your Guide soon enough, and then you can have each other all to yourselves."
His grip tightens. He braces you against him -- instead of a heady tightness, you're constricted.
"I already found my Guide," he whispers into your throat.
Then he bites.

Muse | MYG

Plot: What happens when the man you practically simp over in high school, is right now, sitting across you after almost 10 years of not seeing him? Worse? You're here for an appointment for therapy and he's your psychologist.
Available on WATTPAD (click here)
Pairing: SeniorStudent!Yoongi x JuniorStudent!Reader ---> Psychologist! Yoongi x Artist!Reader
Genre: Fluff, slight age gap, slice of life, a bit of angst, schoolmates to lovers(?)
This is a work of fiction. Events, characters, and depictions are entirely imagined and do not represent the real-life actions or personalities of any real individuals, including the idols mentioned.
Warnings: talks about mental and death...erm lemme know if you found any disturbing heh
Word count: dunno
A/N: This is...actually some sort of based irl looll (only the high school scenes, most of it) This is my first one shot work! Let me know if I'm lacking something. The current series that I'm still working rn is still not even half finished T_T T_T So I thought I might give it a try---write a oneshot heh I just started here to write in tumblr so I still don't know that much stuff. Feel free to comment so I can improve!! Ik some of those thing weren't even a thing at that time...
"Shit..." I muttered right as I saw the man in a white coat, a clipboard in his arms while his hair softly falls down in his brows, reading his next patient's data. Just like the last time I saw him. Weird, huh? It's been years, yet... he still looks just the same.
Our eyes met, for the first time in a while. He frowned, it was so subtle and fast, no one would even know. But I did. Every little actions that he did, I always notice it. No matter what. I keep saying that the Y/n who just hit her puberty is no longer me, yet with my emotions right now, I can feel like my hormones are all over the place.
"Sit down," he smiled, gesturing the seat across him.
His voice so deep it sounds like soothing lullaby... Eyes so tired that I can tell he works so well... The warmth in his smile makes my heart skip a beat, forgetting why am I here in the first place...
Snap of it!
It took me a second to realize that I stared at him for too long. I cleared my throat, wishing my embarrassment would also go away. I smiled as I took the seat.
Our session ended without him saying that he at least recognize me. Did it made me upset? Yeah... sort of. I mean, I didn't go there and paid him to reminisce our high school days, but still...
I huffed as I crumpled a paper.
"Ugh! Really? Y/n? Still drawing him?"
I uncrumpled it and stared at the newly drawing for a while. I leaned back in my chair and sighed... "I'll give it to him. He looks hot in that coat." I chuckled and stuck the paper back in my notebook. "I'm keeping it because I drew him too good, not that I still like him or anything. That would be just so stupid."
Ha! Right! Nothing else. I smiled, pleased with how I gaslight myself.
I stretched my back and arms. My body ached for having a shrimp position for a long time.
And before I know it, I fell asleep (again) in my studio.
Summer 2010
Our last subject just finished and it's still raining heavily. I have no umbrella so my friends and I were forced to run. Reaching the covered court, I groaned. "Why call it summer when it rains this heavy??"
"Do they really think—us—high school students are waterproof?" Exclaimed by Sana while Chaeyoung just chuckled beside us. Our clothes were pretty wet but not that drenched.
We went upstage since there's some chair in there. Putting our bags down, we wait for the rain to stop. Us juniors only have to spend half day in the campus. Lucky, huh?
"Stay here, hm? You both can't leave me just because you guys have umbrella to share and your house are close." I glared at the both of them while they just snickered. They won't leave me otherwise, I know that.
It's been an hour, yet the rain don't seem to plan on stopping. It's about 1 now, we think. Seems like we're the only junior students in the campus. Suddenly, the seniors from the front building went outside. They went in the cover court. They were wearing some sort of costumes. It was ridiculous—Okay, not really. They seemed like they're going to dance.
We sat still from above across them and watch them prepare.
"Hey, Chae, wanna play?" I grinned as I whispered. Sana was too occupied with her phone that's why it was just the two of us who played.
We played Smash or Pass with every senior guy that I pointed. Until finally, I pointed it to the guy who's wearing a Thai hat(?) The gold ones, it seems like part of their costume.
"Hm... Smash!" Chaeyoung laughed and I did too. Cause miraculously, SAME.
We had a great laugh realizing we'd say smash.
We watched them dance and sing along with the music that were playing. Thinking about it, we might actually look like idiots. They can practically see us sing and dance with them since we're upstage.
After a while, I asked Chae, "What nickname should we give him?" It's our thing. Giving nicknames to people whether they look good or annoying. I think it's every friend groups should do.
"He looks like a cat and his eyes disappear too when he smiles... Kitty?"
"Kitty...?" Sounds weird so I proposed to change it. "What about Neko? Same meaning but doesn't sound weird." She agreed and since then, we called him Neko. With his sharp eyes and pale tone, he does looks like a kitty.
Few moments after, we planned a scheme. We went down to compare our height to his. We walked towards him as if we were just passing by and about to go to the canteen instead.
My and Chae's eyes went wide open. Gasping and staring at each other, the signal were sent.
Gosh, he's tall.
Oh gosh, he is.
A day or two passed since that. We randomly saw him when we went to buy in the canteen.
Then again.
And again.
And again.
Untill a few days have been passed and I keep on seeing him. To the point that... maybe... just maybe, it wasn't really a coincidence anymore.
New character unlocked?
When we were about to go back in our room, we met Hani. My bestfriend in elementary days.
"Y/n! Come here! Imma show you something. Actually—no—It's a someone." Hani dragged me and Chae went along with me.
Hani rant about how this guy looks so good, that in the first time in a while, they found someone who actually looks good in this campus.
Chae and I eyed each other. Were we thinking who we're thinking?
As we reached the third floor of the first year's building, across it was the senior's building. We stopped our track right in front of the exact room. The windows were open and from our spot, we can literally see him studying.
"Neko?"
"You know him?" Hani asked in which I nod.
I think we just found our sweet spot.
Chae and I sometimes went up there just to catch a glimpse of him. It was stupid and fun.
Until that day came.
As usual, Chae and I went to the third floor once again. We stayed in the balcony that faces their room. It was break time so everyone was all over the place. Then I felt it. Chae poked my side and pointed my front. I frowned and followed her finger. There was it, his teacher raising her brow at me. Then his classmates turned their heads toward me... 'till lastly, he did. Everyone was looking at ME. I noticed Chae was hiding on the wall divider of the balcony. I looked back at the teacher who's still looking at me.
"Do you need anything, Ms?" We were quite far but it was still audible.
"H-huh..?" That was all I could muster. It was even barely a whisper. My mouth was slightly open due to not knowing what to do nor say. It lasted like that for a few more seconds. Until I mustered all the courage and pride I have left in my body and shrugged it off and walked away. Frowning as if they got it wrong and I was simply hanging out there.
Walk
Walk
RUN
I went back to our room as soon as I noticed Chae was following me. When we get back, we were panting and sweating. Our classmates looked at us with weird looks. Not that I can blame them. One of our classmate asked us and we did tell the story.
It was our last time going in there.
I felt someone flick my head. I groaned in annoyance.
"Noona, wake up!"
I grumbled as I sit up straight, realizing I fell asleep in the studio again.
"You know you don't have to flick me. Between the two of us, I'm the light sleeper." I mumbled while my eyes were focusing on the big guy in front of me.
He rolled his eyes at me. Up to this day, I wondered who did he got it from. "Eomma wants you to eat lunch with us."
I chuckled. "Your mother did? Wow, what a pleasure." I sassed.
He groaned and plopped himself at the couch. "Can't believe you still resent her."
"Kook, what kind of a daughter am I if I don't?"
Jungkook threw a pillow to me as he stood up. "Still. Eat with us."
And just like that, he walked away.
Life goes on, that's what they say.
I must've been nuts for going to therapy yesterday. It's not like, I'm seriously depressed.
Right..?
Living alone in the house that came from the paycheck of my drawings must be really the best accomplishment I've had. Who would've thought the high achieving in academics girl would end up in this job. It was pure mystery.
I stared at my empty fridge. I smiled. The only thing that kept me sane nowadays is this...
"Looks like, I need to go... shopping."
I grinned ear to ear while I spent my fortune.
"Who needs therapy, when you can go and do your grocery."
I picked out the foods I knew I'd eat while I finish the new dramas. I was about to get the last stock of my fave gummies until someone practically snatched it. Fast.
"H-hey-" I cut off myself from shouting when I realized who it was.
It was him. In normal clothes. Am I dreaming? Impossible. He wouldn't have clothes in the first place if I am.
"Oh, Ms Jeon." He smiled.
Smiled?
He has the nerve to smile after taking that gummy?
But... then again, who need those gummy bears when his gummy smile is practically the sweetest.
He cleared his throat. "Seems like we'll be seeing each other more often."
Uh...what? Is he trying to say that I have a severe mental illness so we'll literally see each other more?? This fucker...
He probably noticed my frown as he chuckled and shook his head. "Uhm, that might've come off the wrong way. I meant, I just moved in in this neighborhood."
Sorry, what..?
I laughed my nervousness away. It's not like we'll be neighbors. This neighborhood is way too big for us to see each other.
Is that why it was my first time seeing him in this grocery store?
"Well, welcome to the neighborhood." I chuckled, probably awkwardly and excused myself.
Damn it. It could've been my chance for us to talk and stuff, but I refused. I mean, with my looks right now? No thanks.
I skipped my lunch and didn't go to our family's house. I plopped myself on my bed and took out my old sketchbook.
Staring at my old drawings of him, it sure did bring back of the memories.
2010
It's been a month yet we still don't know his name. We already did a lot of different shenanigans just to know it. He must be really like having a low profile. We found his classmate's account yet his are nowhere to be found. Maybe he doesn't go online...
I was staring at my computer, scrolling on whatever stuff pop up, then it hits me. Her sister. Hani's sister!
They're in the same year, so maybe, just maybe, she knows his name.
I quickly typed in to ask her. A girl from our year had a picture with him posted. I sent it to her.
"Hi eonni, can I ask u a question? Is there a chance that you know him?"
*Photo sent*
It took a while for her to respond.
"Uhm yeah, he's from our year"
"Can you tell me his name?"
"Min Yoongi"
"I think that's his name"
Min Yoongi... cute. It suits him.
Hours and hours later, I still couldn't find his account. Then as I was searching, there was this account, he was friends with Hani.
My eyes widen. "Min Suga? Could it be?"
I stalked the account and it was really him. No wonder I couldn't find his account—he wasn't using his real name! Likes to keep a low profile? Bullshit. He has more than 5k followers!
Moreover...he really...looks good.
I wonder if his face reflects his personality.
I added him as a friend and waited for the request to be accepted. I told Chae that if he didn't accepted it within 24 hours, I'll delete my request. I still have pride you know. Don't want to be one of those girls in his inbox.
It hasn't even been an hour and I got the notification. He accepted it! I squealed and danced in my room.
This is what being a youth, right?
I clicked my tongue as I chuckled bitterly. "Youth is never coming back."
As I turn the pages more, my bell ringed. Jungkook never ring first, he just comes in whenever he wants to. I should really change the passcode. As for my mom, she never really bother coming here.
Expecting no one, I opened the door, only to gape at the man in front of me.
"You...like pies?"
Min Yoongi, in front of me, holding a pie, not just holding, but giving..?
"Uh...how close is your house exactly?" I didn't mean to sound rude, but rather genuinely curious.
He hesitatingly pointed the house across me.
The Kim's house?
"It was my friend's grandparents who lived there. He took them to take care of them and then he sold this house to me." Yoongi explained. His face going like this :]
"So you really did mean that we'll see each other more often..." I mumbled in which he caught. He laughed and gave me the pie.
"My mom kept on nagging me on giving pies. She really worked hard on it. Hope you like it!"
She's here?
I nodded and thanked him. He went back and I did too. The smell of the freshly baked peach mango pie really did things to my stomach.
For the first time, Min Yoongi gave me something.
Spring 2011
"Let's go hoomeee. Forget it! I'm not going to give it to him!" I murmured while we wait in the senior's balcony. A few steps away from him, we waited. "I knew it I shouldn't have contact him." I mumbled. "He didn't even read my text..." I mumbled. Chaeyoung was practically dragging me. "Look, he seems busy too."
"Would you rather let your drawing and efforts be wasted then?" Chayoung argued.
Then for the meantime, we waited. We walked towards his classroom but he was nowhere. He was just right there few seconds earlier.
"Stupid text."
Should I really text him? The classes have been cancelled. I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to do it now. Should I make myself known? Or should I keep it anonymous? But I really wanna take a picture with him...
Ugh! My head hurts. Forget it, I'm just gonna do it.
"Hi uhm... So I just randomly draw one of my mutuals and it happened to be you.."
*Photo sent*
"Perhaps you like it?
"I was about to give you this at school tomorrow but they cancelled the classes so... Hope you like it<3
Was I too formal?
It took him hours to reply.
"Oh wow, what a nice piece!"
"Yes I like it, thanks!"
HE REPLIED!!! I muffled my squeal with my pillow as I looked back at his text. It took me hours to see the message and reply too.
"Guess... I'll just give it to you when we bump into each other, maybe(?)"
"Ugh goshhh how am I going to give you this at schoolT^T"
"Just don't give it yet if you're still not ready^^"
End*
I went home feeling defeated. Not able to give him the drawing.
I stared at my bedroom's ceiling before deciding to go online.
2+messages
It was sent an hour ago. I quickly opened the message. He replied to my text earlier in the morning, when I told him to meet up.
"Sorry, I just saw your text message"
"I don't have an internet at school, that's why"
"It's fine, so,I'll just give it to you tomorrow?"
"Okay, sure"
Saying it was fine when I was literally sulking in my room like a child. But that's when I haven't read his message.
Min Yoongi apologized to me.
I giggled like an idiot in my room as I stared at the text messages we shared.
The next day...
"AAHHHH! Let's go hoomeee. Forget it! I'm not going to give it to him!" I whined, it wasn't just Chae and Sana was there for me, but some of my classmates too. They were waiting for me—like usual, we go home altogether. "I knew it I shouldn't have contact him. This is really a stupid stupid idea!!" I ran around the court in attempt to go home.
We're here, in front of the senior's building. Waiting...again.
One of my classmate proposed that they'll just call him to go down. Two of them went upstairs to his room.
Why does he always keeping me on waiting. Does he think he's some sort of a king?
I huffed and were literally losing all my shits. Till I heard them.
"He's here!!" They squealed. Too much of an opposite, I composed myself and cleared my throat. Thank God he's tall so when I'm looking forward all I can see is his chest. I gave it to him and our hands brushed. It was so quick and subtle, yet it already made my heart warm.
As practiced, Chaeyoung smoothly asked him if we can take a picture—for business purposes. I felt too stiff. This is too good to be true. Then I felt it, he leaned closer. Our arms touching, he smiled to the pic.
My heart was about to get off my rib cage. My insides were going crazy, yet, thankfully, I look completely normal outside.
When I got home, he texted me, thanking and saying that he really appreciates it. A warm feeling spread across my whole body.
The next day, my classmates and I talked about the event yesterday. They were bitching about how Yoongi didn't even thanked me and just left. I laughed so hard when I heard that. Because he did. Yoongi did thanked me before leaving, it just happened that it was loud enough for only me to hear it. Now, it felt more special.
"Have you ever thought of the probable major reason for what you're feeling?"
Here we go again.
How can I focus on what's wrong with me, when you're right here? Worse, as my doctor.
3 more appointments with him. I paid for this, I should at least gain something.
"Maybe... because up to this day, I still blame myself for his death." My head hung low as I mumbled it.
Why do you always have to see my flaw, Min Yoongi?
This infatuation is slowly turning to hatred...
"You know it wasn't your fault."
I turned my head to him with a frown. So, he does remember me?
A tear fell from my cheek. I wiped it before he can even notice. I turned my hands into fist. 6 words. It was only 6 words yet he can already open my bare self.
"I-if I wasn't stubborn. He'd still be here. He followed me. You saw that. If only he didn't. He'd still be here."
I felt a lump in my throat. Those memories. It was too vivid as if it just happened yesterday.
Spring 2012
"I told you, I don't want to!"
Another day, another argument to have with my mother.
Why is she so pushy on making me go to states?
"It's for your own sake! Studying here at this campus will let you go nowhere."
"What? So eager to get rid of me?!" I yelled while we drive to campus.
"Jeon Y/n! Don't you dare shout at your mother." My father said sternly as he drives.
As we were near the campus, I lost it.
"Drop me off." 1.. 2.. 3... "I said, drop me off, dad." Keeping my voice low yet so stern it could cut apples.
My father stopped the car and I get out of it.
I was mindlessly crossing the road that I didn't notice a four wheeler truck coming at me.
Then I felt a pair of hands pushed me hard, and before I knew it, screams were heard. My mom's loud cries were ringing in my ears. Tears were coming out of me uncontrollably. Blood all over him. I crawled, oh so slowly and trembling. Before I could even reach him, my mom pushed me aside and called for help.
Minutes later, I heard the sirens of the ambulance. I was just there. Staring at him. No words coming out.
It started raining. It was a light rain, yet even with those subtle touch, it made my whole body flinch and freeze.
Till I felt someone's embrace. Someone was covering me with their jacket. Who could possibly care for me if it wasn't my father.
Slowly, I turned my head towards the person.
Why it has to be you?
"Everything's gonna be okay. The ambulance is taking your father already."
He spoke in a soothing tone. Yet no matter how warm or soft his voice is, I can't somehow get out the ice cage I'm in.
"Do you think your father would want you to think that way? It's been years Y/n, what happened that you're back at this again?"

Here There Be - Director's Commentary
Chapter 1 - Part 2 (pages 5-9)
aka I had a dream about the turtles being hurt/sad/scared limping through a sewer being chased by something and it made me sad so I decided to inflict it on everyone else ( owo)b

MINI-SHELLDON!!! Donnie and SHELLY are completely running offline at the moment. Despite being disconnected from his larger mental server, the little guy is doing a good job scouting ahead and building a rough map for the turtles.
Pizza Rat <3
Page 5 - Panel 5 is where I first experimented with the painting style for the comic. I wanted a watercolour look, but a thicker paint look comes more naturally to me. Finding the right colour to fit the vibe took some time. I was originally going for a more sickly colour, but there is a lot to be said about the struggle of putting characters with green skin in a green environment.
Mikey walks ahead alone, impatient, pulling them forward. Leo supports a struggling Raph; by no fault of their own, the two dictate the slow progress forward. Donnie drifts behind, disconnected. Or maybe they are just walking in a sewer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
In the movie, Leo wears his swords over his right shoulder, but here he has them at his hip and out of the way so Raph’s arm can rest over his shoulders. This is only partially because I kept forgetting to draw the weapons.
THIS PANEL ^^^ made me feel dizzy while I was working on it >:( I'm not quite satisfied with the final effect here, but I'm not really sure how I could have done it differently? I look forward to solving that puzzle someday with more experience.
Page 8 - The page where I felt bad \( T^T)/ what kind of monster would hurt them like this? Raph is trying his best to not worry his siblings, but oh buddy... Anyway, do you know how scary it is when your older sibling is injured? You can know that they are human and capable of being hurt, but that doesn't stop how earth shattering it can feel to see them fighting tears and down for the count. (my older sibling I know you just followed this blog, don't even worry about it, ilyyy)
In the series we see that they are all capable of lifting super heavy objects, Mikey in particular is comically strong, so the struggle here isn't being unable to lift Raph up, but in trying to support him while he struggles to stay upright despite his injuries.
I prefer stories where the characters get equal attention and screentime. Each and every turtle is going through multiple things the same time even if it's not stated outright, don't even worry about it :)
Page 9 - OH boy, some of the faces on this page are so rough and off model, but redoing the first chapter is the comic killer. Returning to improve the beginning of a story is an endless cycle of perfectionism and the reason many web comics and fanfics end. Plus! I think its cool to be able to look back and see the progress! To watch page by page as a comic artist's skills grow over time!
My storytelling style, while frequently lighthearted and silly, is a bit more down to earth than ROTTMNT's usual high comedy tone. I'm glad folks seem to be vibing with it so far!
#HTB-TMNT ⭐️ Directors Commentary#htb-tmnt#i loooove using visuals to imply stuff :)#third and last ask/post of the night

note: This is my first fic ever guyss, its not that good yet as I'm just starting out but its worth reading.
Reblogs and likes are really appreciated.
Enjoy your read!.
Heeseung was annoyingly pretty.
Not the kind of pretty that made you weak in the knees, but the kind that made you want to punch a wall out of pure spite. He had a face that could’ve been sculpted by artists who hated modesty — sharp jaw, smooth skin, eyes that looked like they always knew more than you did. And he walked like the world owed him something, like confidence was stitched into his spine.
I hated that he was tall. I hated that he smelled good even after gym.
I hated that no matter how much I tried, he always got under my skin.
I hated how his smile always made my heart flip.
And the worst part?
He grew up next door.
---
We weren’t always like this.
There was a time when Heeseung was the kid who’d sneak bugs into my backpack just to make me scream — and I’d chase him down the street with a plastic baseball bat. Summer evenings meant chalk drawings on the sidewalk, dripping ice cream cones, and lazy dares on the swingset.
How we were always joined by hip, going anywhere and everywhere together.
Until...until the day we weren't.
“Why Do You Hate Heeseung So Much?”
People ask me that all the time.
Usually when we’re out — surrounded by too many snacks and too few brain cells — someone always turns to me with a grin and says,
“Come on, Y/N. Be honest. Why do you hate Heeseung so much?”
And I always have a list ready.
“He’s insufferable.”
“He thinks being tall makes him superior.”
“He flirts with waitresses then tips like a grandpa.”
It’s become a bit. A running joke.
But the truth?
The truth is I don’t actually hate Heeseung.
I just never forgave him.
Not really.
Because back when we were fifteen, there was this one night — the kind you don’t really forget.
The kind you carry with you even when you’re trying hard not to.
It was warm out. Sticky, quiet. One of those summer nights where everything feels a little more honest.
We ended up in the treehouse behind my backyard — the one we used to play in when we were kids. It wasn’t planned. Just one of those things where I looked out the window and saw him pacing his driveway, and he looked up like he was waiting for me to.
So I went.
And we talked.
About things we didn’t talk about with anyone else.
His parents. My insecurities. Feeling stuck. Feeling… seen.
For a second — maybe longer — it felt like something changed.
Like maybe we weren’t just neighbors. Or childhood friends. Or that weird undefined space in between.
There was a pause.
A moment.
I swore he was going to kiss me.
He didn’t.
And that was fine, a little disappointing because I always wanted him to be my first kiss… but it was fine.
But the next day?
He ghosted.
No texts. No calls. No “you up?” late-night window knocks like usual. Just… nothing.
Avoided me at school. Like I had made everything up in my head.
So when my friend asked about it, I said it was nothing. Just a “weird night.”
I laughed it off. Pretended I didn’t care but I did.
Pretended it didn't hurt but it did.
I waited. I gave it a day. Then another. Then another.
And eventually, I got tired of waiting.
I kept thinking: Was I wrong? Did I imagine it?
Maybe it hadn’t meant anything to him. Maybe I’d read it all wrong.
So I got angry. At him. At myself. At all of it.
Until one day….
“…Y/N, what do you think?
I blink out of my thoughts, realizing Professor Kim is looking directly at me — marker in hand, pausing mid-diagram.
Crap.
I glance at the board. Cellular respiration. ATP. Glycolysis. Okay, not too bad.
“It produces a net gain of two ATP molecules,” I answer, trying to sound confident.
Professor Kim smiles. “Exactly.”
And then from across the room — like clockwork — a voice I’ve been trying to ignore for the past three months speaks up, slow and smug:
“That’s… technically wrong.”
My head snaps to the right.
Heeseung.
Of course.
I clench my jaw. “No, it’s not.”
He leans back in his seat, arms folded, looking so pleased with himself.
“Pretty sure it’s four ATP, not two. You might want to actually read the textbook instead of skimming the summary.”
The class collectively exhales — that quiet, anticipatory hush that means oh, they’re fighting again.
I don’t even hesitate. “It produces four, but the net gain is two. Because you invest two in the energy investment phase.” I say it slowly, like I’m talking to a toddler. “Try to keep up.”
Someone near us snorts.
Heeseung’s smile twitches — the fake one he does when he’s losing. “Wow, look at you. One correct answer and suddenly you’re Bill Nye.”
“And yet, still doing better than you.”
“Is that what you tell yourself to sleep at night?”
“No, I use the thought of beating you in literally everything.”
“Dream big, Y/N.”
“Oh, I do. And you losing is a recurring theme.”
Professor Kim clears her throat sharply.
“That’s… enough. This is a biology class, not a debate club.”
The room awkwardly shuffles back to silence. But the damage is done. The tension — electric and unmissable — simmers between us.
That was the day we stopped just not talking.
And somehow, we turned into rivals.
Every answer. Every grade. Every seat in the library.
We competed. We snarked. We fought over who got the front seat and who picked the movie.
And it stuck.
It wasn’t just silence anymore.
It was a war.
Now we’re that pair. The two people in the group chat who always have beef.
So when people ask, “Why do you hate Heeseung so much?”
I shrug and give them a new fake reason.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
By high school, we were fluent in mutual loathing.
Group projects? Nightmare.
Game nights? Constant sabotage.
Truth or Dare? Always dare — always dangerous.
Still, somehow, we had the same group of friends.
Which is how we both ended up in a shared cabin during a seven-day mountain trip planned entirely and suspiciously by Sunoo.
Day One:
It’s already golden hour by the time we pull up to the cabin.
The car ride was long, filled with stupid games, backseat arguments, and the occasional off-key group karaoke moment — but stepping out into the pine-scented air makes it all worth it. The place is beautiful: tucked into a clearing with string lights stretched across the porch, wooden stairs leading to a wraparound deck, and big windows reflecting the soft amber sky.
The cabin was charming, in a murder-in-the-woods kind of way.
“This is so cute,” Sunoo says, hopping out with his phone already out to record. “Everyone say ‘cabin core’!”
“Cabin core,” the group repeats in half-hearted unison, dragging their bags toward the porch.
I grab my duffel and start toward the stairs, only to hear the trunk slam behind me — and him right on my heels.
Heeseung brushes past like I’m not there, earphones still in, hoodie hood up despite the warm breeze. I resist the urge to trip him. Barely.
“Wow, look at the view,” Jake says from the porch, gazing out at the lake shimmering through the trees.
“I can’t wait to not move from this place for the entire week,” says Jay, stretching like he just completed a marathon.
The inside of the cabin is even prettier. Wood paneling, cozy furniture, a fireplace that Jake immediately tries to light (and is immediately banned from touching again), and the smell of cinnamon-scented something already in the air thanks to Sunoo’s overprepared weekend grocery bag.
Heeseung and I don’t say a word to each other.
We never really do anymore — not unless it’s sarcastic, competitive, or accidentally laced with heat we both pretend isn’t there.
It’s been like that for years.
Still, when I catch him looking at the bookshelf in the corner — the same exact way he used to look at my bookshelf when we were ten — I look away before I feel something stupid.
≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾
The fire crackles.
Sunoo’s managed to light a proper bonfire outside, and we’ve all dragged blankets and folding chairs around it like a cliché summer movie. Someone’s speaker plays soft lo-fi beats, and the marshmallows are already melting unevenly on sticks over the flame.
It’s peaceful. Easy.
Well, mostly.
Heeseung’s sitting two spots away from me — too close to ignore, too far to fight with. He’s wearing that gray zip-up I hate because it makes his stupid collarbones more noticeable. The firelight dances across his face, and he’s chewing on a marshmallow like he owns the place.
I pretend to scroll through my phone. But I hear it — his laugh, low and lazy — when Jake says something dumb. The kind of laugh that used to be directed at me.
Now it just pisses me off.
“Alright!” Sunoo suddenly claps his hands together distracting me from my thoughts. He was oddly too excited for someone assigning sleeping arrangements.I know that look on Sunoo’s face. That scheming glint behind his sparkly eyes “So, for the rooms…”
“I already claimed the bed near the big window,” says Jay.
“Sunghoon and I are bunking,” Jake adds, poking his marshmallow. “I sleepwalk. He’s scared of ghosts. It balances out.”
“Then…” Sunoo smirks like this is the highlight of his night. “Room two… Heeseung and Y/N.”
And just like that—
“No.”
“Absolutely not.”
We speak at the exact same time.
Heeseung throws a hand out toward Sunoo, like he can reverse time. “I’m not rooming with her.”
“Yeah, same,” I say, arms crossed. “Put me with literally anyone else. Anyone who doesn’t roll their eyes every time I breathe.”
Heeseung scoffs. “You’re one to talk. You hum like a microwave at 2AM.”
Room with him for an entire week??
God~ I won't survive.
Sunghoon, lounging on a log nearby, sips his hot chocolate and shrugs. “Too bad. All the other rooms are full. Unless you want to sleep outside with the bugs.”
I narrow my eyes. “What about the couch?”
“The couch is LAYLA’s bed,” Jake says sweetly, referring to their golden retriever who’s currently curled up like royalty on a throw blanket inside. “Sorry.”
Heeseung turns to me with a blank look. “This is your fault.”
I blink. “My fault?”
“You pissed off the universe somehow. And now I have to suffer.”
“Oh my god,” I mutter, grabbing my bag and stomping toward the house.
“Don’t snore,” he calls behind me.
“Don’t exist,” I shout back.
≻─── ⋆✩⋆ ───≺
The room is nice. Cozy. Wooden cabin aesthetic, warm lighting, one queen-sized bed in the center.
We both stop at the door and stare at it.
“Nope,” I say first. “You’re taking the floor.”
Heeseung tosses his bag onto the dresser and raises a brow. “Excuse me? You’re the one who talks in your sleep. I’m not risking my life.”
“I do not talk in my sleep.”
“Sunghoon has videos.”
I glare at him. “Well then good. The floor will hide you from the sound of my ‘threatening’ sleep murmurs.”
He drops his bag to the floor with an unnecessarily dramatic thud.
“Fine. I’ll take the bed.”
“No, I’m taking the bed.”
He turns. “You just said I should take the floor.”
“Yeah, but I remembered you’re insufferable, and I’ve suffered enough.”
He walks over to the bed and sits on the edge slowly, locking eyes with me like it’s a silent dare. “Call dibs.”
I scoff. “Seriously?”
“Dibs.”
I fold my arms. “I will smother you with that pillow.”
“I bet you dream about doing that every night.”
The stare-off lasts too long. His knees are still touching the edge of the bed. I’m still gripping my hoodie like it’s a weapon. The silence stretches thin — until we both huff at the same time and speak in unison:
“We’re not sharing.”
Another beat passes.
“Fine!”
“You’re not touching me,” I say flatly.
“Like I’d want to.”
“Good.”
“Great.”
We both exhale.
Then, reluctantly — like it physically pains us — we mutter, almost at the same time:
“We’ll build a pillow wall.”
The cabin is silent except for the soft whisper of wind outside.
I’m barely asleep, the pillow wall between Heeseung and me standing like a fragile fortress.
Then—thud.
The pillows tumble.
I freeze, heart racing.
A soft curse escapes from the other side of the bed.
Heeseung’s voice, low and barely a whisper, breaks the quiet.
“Dammit.”
I swallow, eyes adjusting to the dim moonlight filtering through the window.
He shifts closer than expected.
I hold my breath.
“I’m not moving,” he says, voice rough but quiet. “You can move.”
I don’t say anything. Instead, I inch closer too — just enough so our shoulders brush.
It’s accidental. It’s terrifying. It’s... comforting.
The warmth of his skin seeps through the thin blanket.
For the first time in years, the space between us feels less like a battlefield and more like home.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s enough.
──✩₊⁺⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧──
Day 2:
Sunlight seeps through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the cabin. The group stirs awake, groaning and stretching, dragging themselves toward the kitchen for breakfast. I’m still half-asleep, but the looming day ahead is impossible to ignore.
Sunoo’s voice cuts through the sleepy haze. “Alright, everyone! Zipline park today! Get ready to fly!”
Heeseung shoots me a look as if daring me to back out. I glare right back. “Chicken,” I say before anyone else can.
His smirk is all the answer I need. “You’re going down.”
The car ride is loud with music and chatter, but between Heeseung and me? Nothing but cold shoulders and barely concealed glares. I catch him stealing quick looks at me, and I pretend not to notice. The air between us is taut, like a wire stretched to snapping.
Arriving at the zipline park, the thrill buzzes through the group. Harnesses click on, helmets are tightened, and the guide’s instructions fill the air. I stand beside Heeseung on the platform, my heart pounding.
“Ready?” he asks, voice low, almost a challenge.
“Yeah. You?”
He jumps first, smooth and confident, and I grit my teeth before leaping after him. The wind roars past, and I land clumsily, trying not to look like a mess.
“Not terrible,” Heeseung says, barely hiding the teasing edge in his voice.
“Thanks for the compliment” I snap, brushing past him.

Later, in line for the next zipline, Jake and Sunghoon joke nearby, and I laugh at one of Jake’s dumb jokes. I don’t notice Heeseung’s gaze tightening on me.
“What’s so funny?” he says, voice casual but sharp.
“Jake told a joke. It’s funny.”
He snorts, but there’s something almost possessive in the way he looks at me — maybe jealousy? — before he masks it with a shrug. I roll my eyes, but it stings more than I want to admit.
---
The hike back is tense. Heeseung falls in step beside me, but there’s an uncomfortable silence between us.
“You’re annoying,” I mutter, bumping his shoulder.
He scoffs. “Right back at you.”
We bicker over who’s walking too slow, who’s taking the wrong path, and who’s responsible for ruining the snacks. The others laugh and tease us relentlessly.
Jay winks and calls out, “You two should just kiss already and save us the drama!”
The group bursts out laughing, and my face heats up instantly. Heeseung’s jaw tightens, and he looks like he’s trying not to laugh — or maybe not trying hard enough.
“Shut up, Jay,” I say, but my voice is shaky.
Heeseung smirks, shaking his head. “Yeah, shut up.”
The teasing continues, and every time someone drops a “Maybe you’re secretly in love” comment, we both look away, cheeks burning, pretending not to hear.
By the time we reach the cabin, the tension hasn’t eased, but something under the surface has shifted — a quiet, uneasy awareness neither of us wants to admit out loud.

The sun dips low as the group settles outside by a crackling bonfire. The air smells of smoke and pine, the sky painted with streaks of orange and purple. Everyone’s chatting, roasting marshmallows (which Sunoo managed to convince everyone should be a night thing of this trip), and joking around—but between Heeseung and me, the silence is almost deafening.
Sunoo nudges Jake, nodding toward us. “Hey, you two look like you’re about to start a fight or make out. What’s it gonna be?”
Jake laughs, “Honestly, just kiss already. We’re tired of this back-and-forth.”
I glare at both of them, cheeks heating up, while Heeseung shoots a warning glance my way.
“Shut up, you idiots,” Heeseung mutters, but the slight smile tugging at his lips betrays his embarrassment.
Later, as the group heads inside, the reality hits: We are still sharing that bed.
Sighing, I get ready to sleep.
The cabin is quiet except for the occasional crackle from the fireplace. The pillow wall between us still stands—though now a little worse for wear, more lopsided than before. We’re both lying on our sides, backs turned, eyes fixed on opposite corners of the room.
For the first time since we started sharing this bed, Heeseung’s foot nudges mine—a brief, accidental touch.
I don’t pull away.
Minutes stretch on.
His voice, low and hesitant, breaks the silence.
“Your jacket… it’s cold.”
Without looking, I shrug it off and toss it toward him.
He doesn’t move it back, just lets it lie there—on his side of the pillow wall.
Later, as I reach for my water bottle, my hand brushes against his. We freeze.
Neither of us says anything, but the awkwardness is different this time—less like a challenge, more like a question.
The pillow wall shifts again, wobbling precariously, and I laugh softly.
“Guess this thing isn’t very strong.”
Heeseung snorts, the sound almost like a smile.
“Yeah, neither are we.”
My heart skipped a beat. What does he mean by this? Did I hear it right?
We don’t say more, but the tension feels... lighter. The fights still come, but somehow, sharing this small space makes the distance between us just a little less unbearable.
As sleep pulls us in, the quiet between us feels less like a wall and more like a fragile bridge.

Day 3:
By morning, something is different. Not drastically, not in a way anyone could really name — but it’s there.
Heeseung doesn’t rush to the bathroom before me like it’s a competition. He even holds the door open. And when I come out, he’s sitting on the edge of the bed, tying his shoes with a calm I don’t quite recognize.
“You snore,” he says flatly.
I scoff. “I do not.”
“You do. Tiny snores. Like a cartoon chipmunk.”
My pillow hits his back. He throws it right back at me, and for a second, we’re laughing — real, genuine laughter. It's strange. Light. I almost forget I’m supposed to hate him.
---
The group decides on the amusement park today. I should’ve known it’d be chaos — Sunoo bouncing with excitement, Jake challenging everyone to ride the tallest coaster, and the teasing? Nonstop.
“Oh, you two again,” Jay drawls as we climb out of the car. “Still alive after sharing a bed?”
“Barely,” I mutter.
“She kicked me in her sleep,” Heeseung says with mock betrayal.
“You deserved it.”
But it’s... gentler now. Even our bickering feels like a game we’re both playing, testing the boundaries of how far we’ve come since that first bitter night.
---
At the entrance, we split into smaller groups. I end up next to Heeseung in line for the haunted house. Typical.
He smirks. “Scared?”
“Of some fake zombies and fog machines? Please.”
“Should I hold your hand?”
His voice is casual, too casual — like he’s joking, but the heat crawling up my neck says otherwise.
“I’d rather hold a chainsaw,” I shoot back.
But he doesn’t stop smiling. Not the usual cocky kind, either. It’s softer. Like he’s not laughing at me — just enjoying watching me squirm.
Inside the haunted house, something grabs my ankle — one of those dumb animatronics. I shriek.
Heeseung’s arm wraps around my shoulder instinctively. It’s solid, warm, a little too comforting. I stiffen. So does he.
“Sorry,” he mumbles, pulling away like I burned him.
“No... it’s fine,” I say, almost whispering. I think we’re both too aware of how easy it felt. How natural.
---
By afternoon, we’re drifting in a carousel of games, rides, and too much cotton candy. I notice the way Heeseung lingers when I walk ahead, subtly slowing to match my pace. When I can’t finish my soda, he grabs it and without hesitation drink it from the every straw I drank from.
Is it a indirect kiss?
I slap myself out of that thought
Control y/n he’s your enemy. But he’s so handsome.
“Y/n…” Heeseung’s voice pulls me back to reality
“What?” I snap unintentionally
“You were staring” he teases
Before I could say anything my heart skips a beat again.
When he wordlessly pulls a strand away from my eyes when my hair gets tangled in the wind.
None of it feels forced.
But the moment that really hits me?
It’s a small thing. A game booth. One of those dumb ring toss games. I try three times — and miss every single one.
Jake jeers. “Y/N, do you have depth perception issues?”
“Watch and learn,” Heeseung says as he steps up.
He nails it on his second try.
The prize? A silly plush fox.
He turns and hands it to me without a word. Doesn’t even look at me.
I take it, trying not to blush. “I didn’t ask for this.”
He shrugs. “Didn’t say you did.”
But I don’t let go of it all day.
—
Later, the group settles in a food court, swapping stories and photos. Sunghoon and Sunoo scroll through pictures on Jake’s phone — most of them candid. I see one of Heeseung and me standing near the carousel. We're not touching. Not even close. But we’re looking at each other in a way I don’t remember doing.
“God,” Sunoo says with a dramatic sigh. “You guys are ridiculous. Just kiss already.”
“Not this again,” I groan.
Heeseung leans back in his seat, all casual confidence. “Maybe she should just ask.”
I blink. “Ask what?”
He shrugs. “Whatever’s been sitting on the tip of her tongue since that cabin night.”
My heart stutters. I hate how smug he sounds. I hate even more that he might not be wrong.
Jake raises a brow. “Wait, is this... flirting? Is Heeseung Lee actually being obvious for once?”
I nearly choke on my drink.
“I am not—he is not—ugh,” I stammer.
Heeseung just grins, eyes meeting mine across the table. There’s something in his expression — not teasing, not taunting. Just... open.
It shuts me up faster than anything else.
—
We leave the park in the golden hour, when everything glows a little too soft and a little too slow. I trail behind the group, lagging with Heeseung without meaning to.
“I forgot how fun this could be,” I say after a long pause.
He doesn’t answer right away, then quietly: “Yeah. Same.”
I glance up at him. The light hits his profile, and for a second, I see the boy I used to be best friends with. The one who used to sneak me his last grape candy because I liked it more. The one who used to race me home from school.
“Do you ever think maybe we...” I hesitate. “Misunderstood each other?”
His hand brushes mine. Just once. Barely.
“Sometimes,” he says. “But you were still insufferable.”
I scoff. “And you were still a smug little—”
“You liked it,” he cuts in, grinning.
Maybe I did.
Maybe I still do.
---
Back at the cabin that night, the pillow wall is still there. But smaller. Just two cushions now.
I lie in bed facing him, our shoulders almost touching.
“Heeseung?”
“Yeah?”
“Thanks. For today.”
He doesn't speak. Just shifts a little closer. I feel the edge of the bed dip beneath him.
Then his voice, soft and almost sleepy:
“I’d win you another one. The fox.”
I blink.
Maybe we’re not enemies anymore.
Maybe we never really were.

Hi!! I just had a thought for Clayton or Kess that I had to share. Reader who either has a concussion or amnesia after surgery forgetting that they’re dating and being so flustered when he’s acting like a boyfriend. Sorry if this didn’t make sense. It just came to mind and I had to share! 🫶🏼
Requests are currently closed while I work through current ones <3 (We're nearly at request reopening time though) Writing Masterlist
He was warned that you might be a bit confused when you finally came round from your surgery. Specifically he was warned that the anaesthesia might make your memory a bit fuzzy. You might not remember that you'd come in for surgery on your knee or that you had a problem at all in the first place.
So when you wake up to him sat next to you, your hand clasped in both of his own and stare at him like he's an alien, your mouth open, eyes wide, he doesn't take it too personally.
"Hey, baby..." His voice is sickly sweet, soft, oh so soft, and you're so confused because Clayton Keller did not call you baby...he barely even talked to you. Your cheeks grow hot, blood rushing to your face. "How you doing, sweetheart?"
"I...what happened?" You try not to let it get to you, the pet names, the sickly sweet tone, the soft eyes. You try not to think about how your hand is definitely growing sweaty and clammy from nerves where Clayton is holding it because when did he hold your hand? When did Clayton Keller even look at you, let alone touch you? Last you checked you just happened to exist in the same circle as him, just that girl who happened to be friends with Michael...why wasn't Michael here instead?
"You had your knee surgery, baby, remember?"
"Wha'?" You're getting so confused that you're starting to get emotional, tears coming to the surface, bottom lip wobbling and it has Clay shushing you, moving from his chair to the bed with you. He tugs you into his arms and you freeze like a deer in headlights.
"You okay, baby? What's wrong?" He knows you don't remember the surgery, that bit is obvious, but you're not acting like you normally would around him. Your face is fully flushed, nervous breathing, muscles tense like being this close to him is making you nervous. You haven't been nervous around him for months now.
"Why are you calling me that? You never call me that..." You tug away from him, enough to put space between you because Clayton Keller does not cuddle you. Not in your wildest dreams.
"Baby...I call you that all the time?" He's a little hurt actually, confused too now, because he calls you baby all the time. He barely calls you by your name anymore, in fact you tell him off if he calls you anything but a pet name. You get offended that you've been downgraded to your actual name.
"No you don't. You barely even talk to me...."
"Y/N, I'm you're boyfriend. We live together." It's like a bomb has been dropped, your face paling, body freezing up even further because that's not possible. Clayton Keller barely talked to you, let alone dated you. You still lived with Michael as your roommate...
"No you're not. No we don't..."
"Yeah, we do, see..." He gets his phone out. The lock screen is the two of you, you kissing his cheek while he grins the goofiest, widest smile possible. His dog is at your feet. He unlocks his phone and goes to his camera roll and each photo confuses you even more.
Pictures of you in your PJs on the couch, pictures of the two of you cuddling, kissing, holding hands, pictures together curled up in bed...Pictures at the beach. Pictures at dinner. Pictures upon picture of you and Clayton clearly together, clearly in a relationship. Not something he could just fake.
"You're my boyfriend?"
"Yeah, baby, have been for 8 months now...you don't remember?"
"Noooo..." You're starting to get teary again, drawing out the word, "Why don't I remember?" Your distress is from your sudden realisation that you've forgotten 8 months or more of your life.
"Hey, hey, baby...it's okay...the doctors said you might be confused for a bit. It's just the meds, it'll wear off." He tries to reassure you but he's also reassuring himself a little. A tiny bit scared you might actually have forgotten him forever...although if you have he's determined to make you fall in love with him all over again.
"You promise?"
"Of course, baby, c'mere..." Clay's quick to pull you back into his arms, cheek pressing against the top of your head as he rocks you. "You're going to be okay...oh, baby." He's babying you, he knows he is, but he also can't comprehend how scary it must be for you. You can't remember nearly a year of your life and even if that's temporary that's scary.
To add to that he's here. To him you're his long term girlfriend, but to you? To you he's a guy who could barely talk to you for months and acted disinterested because he liked you so much he got too nervous to talk to you. To you he's the unapproachable captain of your friend's hockey team. He's a guy you barely speak too...and he's here calling you sweet names and telling you you're living with him.
So yeah, he babies you, and yeah when you start to cry he holds you tighter...because this isn't about him, it's about you and how scared and confused you are right now. His job as your partner isn't to get upset or angry that you can't remember him, it's to help regulate you, to help you feel safe when everything you know is unsteady and unstable.
