While walking near Cliff and Starfish Street, a cute building catches your eye. While Sam's place has undoubtedly been around for as long as you can remember and has always been regarded as one of the best cafes in town, you've heard about the place you now stood in front of. An up and coming themed cafe called Whisker Wonderland. Whether or not the cutesy aesthetic appealed to you, you had to concede that the owner really knew how to stay on brand.

You curiously looked through the glass doors to see that it was actually quite busy inside! Not only that, but you saw a Help Wanted poster. Deciding that it was worth a quick peek, you entered the establishment.

Bells chimed overhead as you entered and a chorus of voices welcomed you "Home". A little stunned by the reception, you hardly had time to process one of the wait staff had already bounced their way towards you. A little cat boy in a pink lolita style maid dress beamed at you expectantly.

"Hellooo~ Welcome to Whisker Wonderland, Meowster!" Again, you blinked in mild shock. This hadn't been what you were expecting, to say the least. "There's a wait on tables inside, but if you'd like we can seat you outside! Will Meowster be joining us all alone today?" He pulled what you suspected was supposed to be a cute pose, his hands curled like cat paws beside his face.

You explained that you had just been passing by and saw that they were hiring. The maid nodded and clasped his hands together.

"Oooh, why didn't you just say sooo~ nyeah, I can grab you an application! Are you good with cats? This is a maid slash cat cafe, so you gotta be good with people and cats!" However you felt about this turn of events, you figured it wouldn't hurt to at least see what the pay was...

a (noncanonical) cat cafe has opened up! while i'm making this for my own enjoyment and fun, anyone if welcome to partake in it ^^ if the idea appeals to you, please feel free to read on! if you have your own ideas for a similar cafe, please don't let mine stop you from having fun and making your own. you're free to ask questions, give your pc a job here, etc!

the cafe's appearance isn't 1 for 1 with the sims example, but i wanted to try and at least get a visual idea together for it! the sims has spacing constraints (didnt wana use free move, i do know about it) so its a liiittle cramped in the images, but i imagine theres enough room in the actual cafe for the staff to move around easily!

not pictured is the cats' room, where the actual cats stay. meowsters and mewstresses can book half an hour to an hour in a private cat visitation room should they want one on one time with a specific cat for adoption purposes. theres one or two well behaved cats that usually free roam in the cafe for a brief time each day.

the schedule for the cats is pretty routine and set. theres a bulletin board with the information listed in the cafe for anyone to look at! theres also a chalkboard outside of the cat visitation room that lists out any booked times!

This of course wouldn't be DOL if there wasn't some amount of trouble the pc could get into while working...

maids/butlers take care of the human visitors as well as the cafe cats. this means that theres a chance for harassment from both/either group. the cats are usually well behaved, but some may be ornery and pounce (beastpeople style, not as an animal) when alone with the pc. there's a chance for clients to get handsy, just like in Sam's cafe.

The pc may also acquire fans during their time as a maid/butler, with the chance for both good encounters and bad outside of the cafe.

When inside the cafe, if anyone should try to assault the pc, they can bring it up to the owner, Max, who will immediately have a word with whoever is causing trouble. Should you call for help inside or near the cafe, Max will also be the one to come to your aid.

When the pc asks about a job with the cafe, they're given an application but ultimately Max will greet them himself and say theres no need for all the paperwork - they're always looking for maids/butlers! He warns that it can sooometimes be a demanding job, with the fact you're not only working with people but animals - and that you'd be expected to follow maid/butler etiquette while serving, but he hopes the pay and experience is worth it!

Max pays hourly, at £15 plus any tips you make. And of course, an employee discount on food items, you get to be around adorable cats, and you're allotted free midday lunch and a drink while on shift!

At 30% Love or higher with Max, and a Housekeeping rank of B and above, he may ask for your help in the back. The pay for working in the back is £20 but you also get the chance to learn new recipes from Max! This event can happen once a day and after 3 times of working in the back, the pc will have learned a new recipe from the cafe's menu that they can make in any kitchen (provided they have the needed ingredients)!

much of the food is (of course..!) cat themed. Max's cooking lessons will start with the set meals then the sweets. for each recipe learned, he'll give the pc an additional £10 on a job well done!

maids and butlers are expected to do the maid cafe "moe moe magic beam" thing on the food ok. its just part of the gig.

the cafe is closed on sundays, thus friday and saturday tend to be busy days. on saturdays Max sells various takeaway items as a means of consolidating ingredients and making way for the new week. the stock is limited and sells out pretty fast!

Max would count as a NNPC - and a nonromanceable one at that. hitting on Max will result in him brushing the pc aside and acting like its a joke. if they keep pursuing him, his Love % will decrease by -1 for each flirtatious interaction.

a little bit of a ditz outside of the kitchen. max is very go with the flow and doesnt seem to pay attention to the uglier side of the town, similar to other more "normie" NNPCs.

some misc. things:

the pc can visit the cafe as a guest! spending time with the staff or the cats will yield a -stress and -trauma, even without the food. the power of cute staff and adorable kitties can't be underestimated..!

in case you're wondering.... the only virginity max has intact is anal.

maid/butler uniforms can be of whatever design you want, if you'd like to make up your own for your pc! just try to incorporate some pink and make it "kawaii" haha.

"koy is max REALLY not kissable :( ?!" well no, technically anything is pawsible with the power of tenacity LMAO just know that it would be an uphill battle with him bc he treats all the staff like nieces/nephews and hes the Chill UncleTM (i wouldnt call him dadcore exactly... hes more uncle vibes)

"Are the cats actually cats or are they catpeople?" whatever. whatever suits you. its funky dol grey area. whatever fits the scene ig.

"is there pervy stuff going on with the staff?" not really, but this is up to the pc and whatever you want them to do! like in Sam's cafe, if you want your pc to strictly keep it sfw they can. if you want them to go fuck a customer in the br or suck them under a table, they can. max WILL side eye you and make mention that you should tidy yourself up a little but otherwise he wont say anything about it (in nnpc fashion). just so You know tho! yes, he knows. he knows the pc fucked if they do it in his cafe. and hes shaking his head at you/them.

working early hours at the cafe (6-7am) or immediately after the cafe closes (9-10pm) can net the pc more chances to be paid (at the standard £15) while simultaneously raising their Tending skill; the hours before open and after close are spent tending to the cafe cats alongside Max. if you choose to work after close, Max will offer to drive you home.

the Whisker is also another place the pc can gain the cat tf! simply working there or frequently visiting will net you points towards the transformation.
