Fruit Infused Ginger Ale (No Sugar Added)
This post has been Sponsored by Zevia, but all opinions and text expressed here are my own. Thanks for reading! #SugarFreeLife #Sponsored
Bubbly and carbonated, this Fruit Infused Ginger Ale is crisp, refreshing and perfectly sweet (but, shhh, it has no added sugar!) The perfect drink to cool down at family picnics, bbqs and parties and easy enough to modify based on your own preferences.
April is more than half way over and and Spring is in full bloom. While it has felt as though northern California has been lacking in sunshine this month, you wouldn't know it if you spent any time outdoors today. Curious to see if these sunny skies are here to stay or stopping by just to tease me, I checked the weather forecast. You guys! SUN! Every single day (except one) for the next ten days!
thank you. thank you. thank you.
Naturally, with the warmer weather comes more time outside, more overall activity and (hopefully) lots of fun family-friendly parties. You guys, I love the Spring, but I live for the Summer.
We all know I'm addicted to coffee, love my wine and drink tons of water because I have to, otherwise I'll probably die. Ok, I probably wouldn't die (at least not right away), but I would definitely pass out. But what you don't know is I also love sweet carbonated bubbly drinks (aka, soda). Given the crazy calories and chemicals in most sweet soda, however, I save my pop drinking for times of absolute desperation, or rebellion (since I know it drives my husband crazy).
For all those in between times I'll drink simple plain carbonated water or get fancy and drink, Zevia.
What is Zevia? Zevia is clear in color, Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, kosher, gluten free and naturally sweetened with stevia.
Zevia. Stevia. --> See what they did there :)
Ooook...and what is stevia? Stevia is a small naturally occurring shrub originally found in Paraguay. Stevia provides 200x the sweetness of sugar (WHOA!) but has zero calories (SAY WHAT?!?) and does not raise blood sugar levels.
Zevia comes in all kinds of different flavors like Mountain Zevia, Black Cherry, Cola, Dr. Zevia and TONS more. No, seriously. It's a little crazy. See for yourself (their website is actually kinda pretty, if you're into colors, that is). They also make some energy Zevia.
ALL SUGAR FREEEE!
Anywho, I thought it would be fun to take this sugar free bubbly drink and kick it up a notch without adding ANY artificial sweeteners or sugars. After all, that would totally defeat the purpose...right?
A huge fan of fruit infused water and a forever-fan of Ginger Ale, I combined the two. Easy peasy. Bubbly, sweet (but not in a crazy gross way), refreshing and fancy (in just 5 minutes!)
Fruit Infused Ginger Ale (No Sugar Added)
Prep Time: 5 minutes | Cook Time: 0 minutes Total Time: 5 minutes Yield: 6 servings Category: Drinks + Smoothies, Spring + Summer, Sponsored
Ingredients
4-6 (12 ounce) cans Zevia GInger Ale 2 oranges, sliced 1 blood orange, sliced 1 grapefruit, sliced 1 lemon, sliced 2 limes, sliced 6-10 strawberries, sliced 1 small cucumber, sliced 6-8 fresh mint leaves 2 cups fresh orange or grapefruit juice (optional)
Instructions
In a large pitcher or punch bowl combine the ice, sliced fruit, mint and the sliced cucumber. Add the contents of all Zevia Ginger Ale cans and mix well. Add fresh orange juice or grapefruit juice, if desired.
Distribute equally among glasses and scoop a few slices of cucumber and fruit into each glass,
Best served immediately.
Enjoy!
*note: wash all fruit well (I soaked mine in a giant bowl of water with a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar for 5-10 minutes- this is especially important for strawberries).
