Today was another stressful day for Evren of dealing with patients and running around like her head was cut off. She took a quick moment to sit at the nurses station next to Zahria. She pulled out her phone for what felt like the hundredth time today.
"You been checking your phone all day," Zahria turned from typing on the computer looking at her.
"Nothing, it's-" she hesitated, trying to figure out if she wanted to tell her best friend or not "well you know how last week you joked saying I needed to write someone in jail"
"yeah-" Zahria eyes widen slowly "wait, you did it?!"
Evren nodded her head, Giselle letting out a squeal "Girl it's not that serious"
"Who is it? Did he write back?" Zahria was now completely turned around facing her, eager for her to answer her questions.
Evren chuckled lowly at her friend, "his name is Josh and no he hasn't wrote me back yet"
"How long has it been since you wrote him?"
"It's been a couple weeks. I've been checking my messages everyday since"
"Maybe something happened," Zahria shrugged her shoulders "do you have a picture of him?"
"Yeah" She pulled up a picture showing her, whose eyes widen.
"Damn sis he is fine" she grabbed her phone looking at Josh's profile "what the hell he do to land him 15 years?"
Evren shrugged her shoulder a bit "I have no idea, I wanted to ask when I first sent the message but I didn't want to seem pushy. I want him to tell me on his own" soon the familiar chimes of the intercom came on, paging Evren
She grabbed her phone from Zahria sighing, placing it back into her pocket. "Hopefully he writes back soon"
Evren nodded in agreement before walking off in the direction she needed to go.
Tumblr media
Evren sighed as she walked into her house, taking her shoes off at the door. She dropped her keys onto the foyer table, bypassing the living room and kitchen heading straight up the stairs. She went into bathroom turning on the shower.
She hopped in taking a quick shower and doing her night routine. She threw an oversized shirt and put her bonnet on. As soon as her head hit the pillow her phone dinged. She was going to ignore it but she felt an urge to check it.
New Message from: Fatu, Joshua #1759
She sat up quick, in disbelief he wrote back. She clicked on the notification reading over the message.
What's up ma
I apologize it took so long to write back, shits been real hectic in here. I appreciate you writing me. Evren is it? You'll have to tell me how to pronounce it one day. My name Josh but I go by Jey.  I'm 39, I'm from Florida but live out here in Georgia and I'm a twin.
Now that we got most of the basics out the way, I hope to hear about those cliche things soon. I'll be looking for it.
Jey
She felt like a high school girl who just got a note from her crush. She quickly typed a reply back to him before locking her phone and letting sleep wash over her.
Tumblr media
It was another day in the cell block, everyone sitting in their own space in the common area. Jey sitting with his usual group he hung around. Sami, Xavier and Kofi.
They were playing cards while Jey sat back observing everybody.
"Yo Uce you hoppin' in on a game" Xavier shuffled the cards preparing for the next game.
Jey shook his head slightly "nah I'm good" his focus landed on somebody walking over and standing right in front of him.
"Well look who's back from the hole" Jey looked at the young dude, who goes by Bron. He crossed his arms as he stared down Jey.
Jey sat back unphased keeping a straight face "and look who's back from the infirmary," he eyes the fresh cut and bruise on the side of his face "how's your face feeling"
Bron expression soon turned sour taking a step towards him. "You think you're funny huh?"
Jey slowly stood out his seat, coming eye to eye. "I don't think I'm funny, but if you keep testin' me that black eye ain't gonna be the only thing you gon' worry bout"
Bron gave him one last look before huffing, walking away. Jey shook his head before a guard came up to him. "Fatu, it's your time to go check your mail"
Jey nodded before being escorted over to the area they can make calls and send messages to family.
He sat down at the computer putting in his information. He saw he had a few messages, a couple from his brothers and a new one from, from Evren. He opened hers first reading the message.
I'm glad you wrote back. For a second there I thought you wouldn't. I know you said you wanted to hear the cliche things about me so here's a few. I like to read, I love traveling and experiencing new things. And I love flowers doesn't matter what kind.
I love that you're a twin. I don't have any siblings, since I was adopted at a young age. And before I forget I am a nurse. I work in the O.R. helping out with surgeries, and oversee patient post-care afterwards. I think that covers everything for me. Now what about you?
xo, Ren
Jey couldn't help but be intrigued by Evren. It was something about her that he couldn't put a finger on quite yet. He didn't even know what the girl looked like.
He typed out his message to her before replying back to his brothers. They were just sending him updates on certain things back home. Once he was done he headed back to the common area before they released everyone out to the yard.
Tumblr media
Evren was on her lunch break with Zahria. The girls were at their favorite taco spot.
"I swear if Dr. Rhodes don't stop hitting on me, I'm reporting his ass to HR" Zahria rolled her eyes as she took a bite out of her food.
"His ass is a creep," Evren shook her head "I had to tell him bout himself the other day. Just kept flirting while doing a surgery, like focus on the patient not me"
Her attention went to her phone signaling her she had a new message. She knew immediately who it was and grabbed her phone so fast.
"Damn girl," Zahria couldn't help but laugh "who got you grabbing your phone like that?"
A wide smile bloomed on Evren's face as she read the message. "It's Josh," she breathed, angling her phone so Zahria could see the screen.
I won't go that long again without writing back. Damn, you a nurse? How's that life? I know it gotta be hectic. I don't like to do much, but I definitely like to travel. That's the first thing I wanna do when I get out.
Having a twin ain't all that. His ass be getting on my nerves but we close at the end of the day. I got 5 other siblings, my twin and I the oldest. We come from a big ass family and we all close with each other.
Jey
"He seems really down to Earth and really interested in you"
Evren looked at Zahria slightly blushing "You think so?"
Zahria smacked her teeth "Damn right, he would be crazy not to"
"I don't know Zah," she slightly shook her head "we just started talking to one another"
Zahria shook her head no "I'm not saying y'all getting married tomorrow, just feel him out and see where it goes" she shrugged her shoulder, focusing back on her food.
Evren blew out a breath nodding. Sending Josh a message back.
Glad you're ok. I can't imagine having 5 siblings. It must have been fun growing up. Since it was just me and my parents, never really had a large family.
Being a nurse has its days. I enjoy what I do. The people I do it with, that's a whole different story.
Is there a specific place you want to visit once you're released?
She locked her phone putting it away in her purse. The friends enjoyed the rest of their lunch together before heading back to the hospital. Hours later, when Evren started her next set of rounds she felt her phone vibrate, seeing she had a new message from Josh.
Growing up in a big ass family has it challenges. I love everybody in my family, but they get on my damn nerves sometimes. So you ain't missin' out on nothin'.
I hope you ain't overworkin' yourself. If anyone fuckin' with you just let me know. But to answer your question, I would love to just go where my family from. Samoa.
Evren smiled at the message. His last comment not going unnoticed. Putting her phone back in the pockets of her scrub. She had another surgery she had to scrub in with Dr. Rhodes. It was quick and simple and they were done in no time. She checked the time and seen it was nearing 7 as she scrubbed out.
She felt a presence behind her, a hand being placed on her lower back. She quickly turned around seeing Dr. Rhodes, already smirking at her.
"Can I help you Dr. Rhodes?" She removed his hand from her back. Lifting and eyebrow at him.
"Please, I told you, you can call me Cody," his smile sent shivers down her spine, and not the good kind.
"I rather call you Dr. Rhodes" she tried to side step him but he got in her way again "Is there something I can help you with Dr. Rhodes?"
"Why in a rush? I know you're getting off early tonight and it just so happens so do I. I was wondering if you wanted to get dinner together"
Kairi politely smiled "Thank you for the offer but I will have a decline"
"Oh come on," he tried grabbing her hand but she pulled away before he could "don't be like that"
"Dr. Rhodes I hope you can understand," she narrowed her eyebrows a bit looking him up and down "this is strictly professional. I appreciate the invite but no thank you" She gave him a once over before leaving out the scrub room.
She stopped by the nurse station to say bye to Zahria since she was staying her whole shift. "I'll see you later girl"
Zahria noticed the look of irritation on her face "You good?"
"Dr. Rhodes on his b.s. again," she rolled her eyes  "I swear I am about to report him to HR for harassment"
"Girl I will find him myself and cuss him out. Can't take no as an answer like the creep he is"
Evren shook her head "he's not even worth it so don't waste your time" she checked the time seeing it was a quarter pass 7 "let me get home, I'll see you later"
Zahria gave her a nod, giving her a hug as Evren made her way out. She quickly got to her car, making the quick drive home.
She got inside, leaving her shoes and keys by the door. She rushed upstairs to take a quick shower, changing into an oversized shirt and shorts. She threw her bonnet on and getting in her bed before slowly falling asleep.

The gritty expanse of the rec yard was a familiar cage, the chain-link fence a constant reminder against the bruised twilight sky. Basketballs thumped a ragged rhythm, punctuated by the strained grunts of men pushing their bodies. Jey, usually a coiled spring on the makeshift court, found his focus fractured. He moved through the drills with Sami, his body going through the motions, but his mind kept snagging on the thought of Kairi.
Sami, ever the perceptive one, noticed the shift. He snagged the errant basketball, its worn leather familiar in his calloused hands. "You're off today, uce," he observed, a knowing glint in his eye as he watched his friend wipe sweat with the edge of his faded t-shirt. "What got your head in the clouds? Finally dreaming of that gourmet prison grub they keep promising?"
Jey scoffed, but the corner of his mouth twitched with a private amusement. "Nah, nothin' like that." His gaze drifted for a fleeting second towards the distant, imposing walls before snapping back to Sami.
"Something's got you distracted," Sami persisted, his tone laced with playful curiosity. "You missed that pass I teed up for you. That's like you missing a free meal."
A small smile touched Jey's lips. "Just something happened the other day."
Sami's eyebrows arched. "Random in here usually involves contraband or a new set of rules from the guards. Spill it."
Jey hesitated, a flicker of something unreadable crossing his features. "I got a message from someone."
"A message?" Sami bounced the basketball idly. "From who? Your lawyer finally remember your name?"
Jey rolled his eyes. "Man quit playin'. Just… someone."
"Ooh, 'someone'," Sami drawled, his smirk widening.
A hint of defensiveness entered Jey's voice. "Nah, nothing like that. I won't expectin' it."
"Oh really?" Sami leaned in conspiratorially. "Somebody caught your attention, huh?"
Jey let out a soft sigh. "Look, I put up a profile on one of those pen pal sites, you know? Didn't really expect anythin' to come of it."
Sami's eyebrows shot up. "No way! You? Mr. 'I don't need nobody' actually put yourself out there?"
Jey shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "Shit, I was bored so why not? Anyway a girl reached out." Jey sighed, knowing he fucked up letting it slip.
"A girl?" Sami's smirk widened. "Well, well, well. Look who's finally making connections. What's her name?"
"Aye keep your voice down uce," Jey said quickly, looking around. "But I can't tell you all that. We been talkin' for a minute now."
"Talking how?" Sami pressed, his curiosity piqued. "Letters? Or you finally figured out how to work that dumbass computer in the library?"
"Messages, mostly," Jey replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "but that's all I'm tellin' you, already told yo' ass too much"
"Messages with a girl you met on a pen pal site," Sami repeated slowly, a playful glint in his eyes. "Protective already, huh? You haven't even met her in person, and you're already guarding her like she's the last phone call you get this month."
Jey shoved Sami playfully on the shoulder. "Shut up, man. It's not like that."
"Alright, alright," Sami conceded, raising his hands in mock surrender. "My lips are sealed. For now. But you know I'm going to be all over this later. A pen pal! You sly dog. You gotta tell me more bout her."
Jey shook his head, a small, private smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he bounced the basketball with a renewed focus, though his thoughts were clearly elsewhere. Sami watched him, a knowing and amused expression lingering on his face, the unspoken questions hanging between them in the fading light of the rec yard.
They continued playing ball til they heard the familiar whistle being blown. Signaling their time in the rec yard coming to an end.

Guilt and Grudges, Prologue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The awaited time is done! 52 000 words later, aka 88 pages, plus a couple of months and you get results! I'm finally posting the first chapter of the Chris x reader game based story. Thank you all to those who have supported me through this time! Anyways, I'll be making a taglist for this one (didn't do it on the Josh one), so please send me a message or comment if you're interested in being on it.
There'll be a total of 12 chapters. 1-10, as in the game, but also a prologue and epilogue included. There'll be one chapter posted each day. Please keep in mind that I'm not a professional writer, and there will be mistakes here and there. This story will also feature less smut than the Josh one, as to complement the characters correctly (Don't worry, there will be some, and it will be hot and heavy. Bear with me!)
Tumblr media
The night was icy and cold, but the fire in the lodge kept us all warm inside. The annual winter getaway to the washington lodge was upon us, and the dark snowstorm outside made the mood much cooler and mysterious. I loved it. I think we all did.
The party was barely beginning, everyone drinking and having the time of their lives. Sam was sitting with her drawing pad, Ashley and Matt were joking around, and Mike and Emily were going out in the hall every now and then to make out, Jess interrupting them regularly to steal Em away. They did that many times throughout the night, sly smiles on their lips as they came back into their room. I don’t know what they were planning, but considering the girl, it was going to be nasty.
I sat on the couch with Sam, Chris, and Josh, everyone joking around and laughing. Chris has had a few too many beers, making him stutter and slur his words. Josh was even worse, sentences being completely backwards and laughing at every little thing that was said.
I look over at Sam, giving her a tight smile. These guys were going to drink until they laid flat on the floor. She nods over to Chris, signalling for me to talk to him. She knows about my crush, how I yearn for his attention and presence. But I was never brave enough to tell him that. He’s a jokester, a smart and funny guy. He’s incredibly pretty, his eyes sparkly and vibrant. I feel completely hopeless when imagining him. She knows all this, and has several times tried to make me confess, but I refuse. Worst case scenario, he doesn’t feel the same, and everything will change. We have a good, friendly dynamic, and I don’t want to ruin that.
I signal back to her with my eyes, saying “No way, never gonna happen”. She smiles kindly, as if she’s trying to say that it’ll be okay. I shake my head in response.
“Is this that type of girl-language us men can’t understand?” Chris asks, looking back and forth between us.
“I would say it’s an exaggeration to call you two men” Sam responds, a smirk playing on her face.
“Oof, hard one. And why would you say that?”
“Because you need a brain”
“Hey, I get the best grades in my class” Chris defends, and I laugh at their banter. Josh is paying close attention, well, as much as he can in his state.
“Well, maybe there’s other things you should be smart about” She says, looking over at me. Panic rises in my chest at her boldness. Shit, shit, shit. Chris looks over to me, confused by her statement.
“Do you get what she means?”
“No idea” I answer, killing her in my mind. God, was she going to get yelled at later. Maybe I would sneak in while she took a bath, stealing her clothes and hiding them somewhere in the lodge.
Josh shifts his gaze between me and Chris, thoughts battling in his mind. I look at him weakly, unsure about what he’s thinking about. Suddenly, he gets a realization.
“Omg, Chris, she has a crush-”
Sam quickly covers his mouth with her hand before leaning in and whispering in his ear. My heart falls by the words, the panic rising once again. This can’t be. Why can’t this man keep his mouth shut? He turns her head, whispering back, and she laughs. Chris furrows his brows, not understanding what’s happening. Finally, Josh turns to us again, taking a deep breath.
“Well, didn’t you hear me, Chris?”
“You just said she has a crush? On who? What is happening?”
“Dude, chill. I just said that this girl has a crushing need for more alcohol” he raises his hand. “Look at her, almost sober. Serve the lady, Chris, be a gentleman” he continues, smiling at his own cleverness.
“Jesus Christ, well the lady can ask me herself, can she not?”
I laugh, the saving being a tad funnier than anticipated. Chris rises, taking my glass in his hand.
“Does anyone else want something?”
“Six shots!” Sam shouts, and he sighs loudly while walking back to the kitchen. When he’s out of earshot, I focus my attention back on them.
“Are you guys insane???”
“Not only you Sam, but you too Josh? You almost made me friendless!”
Both of them laugh, not taking me seriously. I give them a smack on each knee before leaning back on the couch again. These people were monsters. And Josh almost ruined me.
Chris comes back, a couple of shot glasses, spirit, and a drink for me. He puts everything down on the table, and Sam is quick to sit up and start pouring the alcohol. I give a smile and thank him when he hands me the glass. Fingers brushing slightly against each other as I grab it. The small contact colours my cheeks, and I turn away in embarrassment, afraid that he’ll see.
“Drink up!” Sam shouts, handing everyone a small glass each. There are still two on the table, and give a look.
“The last ones?”
“Just drink”
We all clink glasses before gulping down the liquid quickly. Gosh, how horrid this night was about to be. The nasty aftertaste lingering in my throat. I grimage, unable to stop myself. I look up to Sam, who does the exact same thing. Josh is unphased, having drunk so much that he can’t feel the flavor anymore.
“And two more!” Sam urges again, filling the glasses and placing one to her lips and giving me the other. Just for the girls I guess.
“You’re going to be the death of me”
“I plan to”
The guys cheer as we drink down the liquid, letting it down our throats and further. A wave of nausea hits me, making me reach for the drink Chris brought and taking small sips. The drink tastes good, too good. I could drink this for breakfast.
“What is this?” I ask, turning around to face him.
“Orange juice and some other stuff”
“I can’t taste the booze”
“That means it’s working”
I take another sip, trying to feel the taste, but still can locate the strong contents.
“Fucking hell I’m going to throw up” Sam exclaims, pushing past Josh and running to the bathroom. All of us laugh, seeing her try to climb the stairs while holding herself. Poor girl.
“So” Josh starts, looking over at us again.
“When are you going to sleep with Mike?” I choke on the drink, starting to cough. Chris places his hand on my back, giving small pats to help me. I compose myself, looking up at a smirking Josh. Chris opens his mouth before I can.
“What kind of question is that?”
“Didn’t ask you Cochie”
I look back and forth between the two, Chris being tensed up, his hand still on my back. I try not to think about it, how his fingers grace over the hem of my bra.
“I agree with him, why would you ask that?”
Josh leans forward, his smirk still going strong.
“Nah, the man just gave me a vibe when he looked at you. How could you say no?” I shake my head in response, he knows who I like, why would he bring this nonsense up? Unless he's trying to unleash something, trying to make me confess on my own. What a sly move.
“Not only is he dating one of my friends, but he’s also not my type”
“Okay, then what is your type?”
“As if I’m gonna tell you”
“Oh, come on”
“Fine” I sigh, laying back on the couch. “Someone kind”
“Everyone can be kind”
“Well, I’m not fucking done am I? And we already know that you’re not on the list Josh”
Chris laughs, giving his buddy a nudge. God, what else am I going to say?
“Someone smart and caring, someone big, like body-wise, right?”
“Right”
“Um, I don’t know, someone funny who I can easily get along with. And can fuck me senseless of course”
Both of their eyes widen at my statement, surprised by how forward I can be.
“What? If we’re talking about a romantic partner, can’t I have sexual criterias?”
Josh laughs, shaking his head. Chris’s hand is still on my back, more tense than before. I hope I didn’t scare him away.
“Maybe Sam needs help in the bathroom” I stand up, taking the drink with me.
“Watch out, she might fuck you senseless” Josh shouts after me. I give a sarcastic laughter in reply, showing him the finger. God, what a long night this was gonna be.
***
I walk over to Beth, slightly struggling to keep myself up as I do. I sway from side to side, gripping chairs and the counter to stop myself from falling.
“Hey, too much for you?” Hannah laughs, hands coming around me. I lean on her, letting her take me to the kitchen counter and sitting me up.
“Never enough”
“When are you gonna stop drinking?”
I take up my cup, filled with whatever the other guys mixed. “Not until dawn”
Beth comes just as I gulp down the liquid, giving Hannah a side stare as she notices me.
“If you survive until then”
I give a snicker in reply. This wasn’t bad, and with Chris being passed out, I didn’t need to be careful. Before, I was terrified of getting drunk in front of him, scared that I’d say something I didn’t mean, but not now. I could lose control, and no matter what I said about him, he didn’t hear it.
“When was the last time you drank this much?” Hannah asks, hand coming to steady me yet again.
“That’s a good question, I don’t know”
“At least we get a good show” Beth comments, giving me a tap on my back. I smile in response, looking back to the living room. Jess and Emily are fidgeting with Chris, I don’t know what they’re doing. I try to make out what they’re holding, but my blurry vision fails me.
I’m blasted, I know that. Everything spins as I move my head, dizziness and heavy heartbeats overtaking me.
“You good?” Beth asks, suddenly worried. I try to form words as I feel something acidic in the back of my throat.
“Shit”
She runs over, grabbing hold of me and running through the bathroom. We make it to the hallway when I black out.
***
My body is slumped upon the bathroom floor. The cold and hard tiles make contact with my back and head. I try to open my eyes, groaning from the raging headache taking over. How long have I been here? Where’s Beth? A large shadowy figure is in the corner of my vision. “Chris?”
“Yeah, still alive” he answers, sitting against the wall. He gives a cheeky smile, looking me up and down. His face is full of scribbles and writing all over his face. He isn’t wearing his glasses, instead drawn on ones and a red heart. I smile at him, trying to hold my laugh.
“I’ve already seen it, you can laugh”
“Don’t know what you’re talking about” I giggle, unable to stop. He rolls his eyes, holding out a hand for me.
“I don’t think I should sit up”
“I think you should drink some water”
He helps me up, my back supported by the bathtub. He hands me a glass, and I grab it with both hands. He doesn’t let go, instead helping me pull it up to my face and letting me drink. The cold liquid makes it in my mouth, washing away the awful lingering taste which was there before. I signal for him to pull the glass away.
“Where’s Beth? What happened?”
He smiles, eyebrows rising as if surprised by my question. “You don’t remember what happened?”
“And why are you awake? You were passed out”
He only laughs in response, putting the glass up to my lips again. I drink up, and he puts it down beside the sink. His body falls down beside me, sitting and letting me lean on him.
“Beth helped you throw up”
“Oh no”
“And I woke up”
“Oh no”
“Oh yes”
I look up at him, my pleading eyes making contact with his orbs.
“Please tell me you didn’t see anything”
“I saw too much”
“Nooooo” I whine, burying my face in his big shoulder. I feel my cheeks heat up from embarrassment.
“Beth left like, five minutes ago to check on the others”
“So she left me on the floor, ready to choke on my own puke?”
“Hey, I’m here, I’ll make sure you don’t die”
“Oh? The big, brave, handsome Christopher will make sure I lean over the toilet it I must”
“Handsome huh?”
I hit him in the arm, not feeling how hard. Judging by his laughter, it wasn’t that hard.
“If it helps, she brushed your teeth before she went”
My tongue automatically feel around my mouth, maybe that was the slight taste of mint. I hum in response, head fully relaxing on him. His arm goes around my back, holding me tight. Maybe to stop me from falling? I don’t know, I just know that I like being in his embrace, benign close to him.
“Why aren’t you sick?”
“You know I never get hungover”
“Lucky”
“But I do pass out. If I didn’t then this wouldn’t be on my face” he points a finger to the scribbles and I laugh. I can’t help it, this warm and cozy feeling overcoming me. He’s kind, funny and smart. With or without his glasses he was handsome. And he’s much more attractive than he gives himself credit for. I’ve seen his arms, and I’ve seen him in tight shirts before. That thought alone gets me going.
“Want to wash it off?”
“Tried already”
“I’ve got some makeup remover in my bag”
I stand up, surprised when I don’t immediately fall down again. I look at him, and his arms are lifted around me, ready in case I fall.
“I’m fine”
“Just making sure”
I see my bag on the counter, and of course my toothbrush is on the top of it. She’s too kind. I must remember to thank her in the morning. I grab a couple of pads, drenching them in the liquid before making my way over to him. I sit myself on his lap, grabbing hold of his chin to move his face.
There’s a slight blush on his face, his mouth is slightly ajar and eyes blank. He grabs my thighs with both hands, letting me sink completely down on him. I start rubbing, first slowly, but it ends up rougher and rougher to get all the ink off.
“You’re gonna rip my skin off”
“Almost done”
I take the last line, and his face looks good as new. A little red maybe, but that’ll fade. I hold his cheeks with both hands, staring deeply into his eyes. He does the same, breathing heavily and looking down on my lips. I don’t know if it is the alcohol, the intimacy or just the surroundings of the cabin, but I lean in, carefully connecting his lips with mine. He responds, opening his mouth and letting me go deeper. He tastes like alcohol, but I’m not bothered by it. One of his hands goes to the back of my head, gripping my hair and pulling me closer. My arms go around his neck, fingers messing up his hair. The kiss gets wetter and sloppier as we keep going, breathing uneven and difficult. We both pull back, surprised by the encounter.
His cheeks are red, hair messy and eyes lustful. He looks magnificent, and I want to do something more about it. He looks me up and down, hand gracing my thigh up to my waist. He doesn’t know what to do now, and honestly, I don’t either.
“Maybe we should stop” he finally says. My heart falls, but I just nod in response. I take a deep breath, standing up, getting off him. Shit. I pushed the boundaries too hard. He didn’t want this, he was caught up in the moment and so was I.
“Um, yeah”
“No, no, I didn’t mean it like that-” he starts, but is interrupted by a loud yell.
“Hannah!”
The yell roars through the night, like it’s being screamed outside. We take a look at each other before running through the hall and down the stairs. He’s right on my heels as I occasionally skip one or two steps. What’s going on? We arrive at the entrance of the lodge, everyone standing outside without their jackets.
“You know, I think you’re the last person she wants to see right now, Mike”
“What’s going on?” I ask, looking around confused. Everyone but Hannah and Beth are here.
“It was just a small prank, got a little out of hand” Mike replies. I still don’t get it, what prank?
“Where’s Hannah and Beth?”
“Hannah overreacted, just ran out into the forest, Beth ran after her” Emily comments dismissively. She walks inside again, pulling Mike with her.
“There’s a fucking storm outside!” I yell. Both of them can be in danger, and you could barely see a few meters in front of you because of the snow. I grab Sam’s arm hard, pulling her into me.
“Try to wake Josh, let’s just make sure they get back okay” I state, and she gives a nod, walking inside again. I look over at Matt and Ashley, both of their faces covered with guilt. I don’t need to talk to them right now. I turn on my heels and start running down the snowy trail.
“Wait!” I hear Chris yell after me, but I don’t wait. The faster we find them, the better. No one should be out in this weather alone. I run down the path in the freezing cold. I should’ve taken my jacket, but there's nothing to do about it now. The occasional animal sounds scare me, especially in the dark. The path has lights, but they’re far apart. I jog just to keep my warmth, arms going around myself for that extra bit of comfort. I look down, noticing some fresh foot marks. They must’ve gone this way. The snow is still heavy, and the footprints are getting less and less visible as I continue. Out of all the days to pull this prank, it had to be today? I jump over a couple of fallen branches, almost slipping on the snow-covered ice when I land. I take a right, hoping to find them around the corner.
“Hannah! Beth!”
I’m met with a flock of deer, some of them running away as they notice me. Shit. I put my hands up, carefully walking backwards to avoid agitating them. A loud inhumane scream is heard throughout the forest, making me stop in my tracks. What the hell. I keep walking slowly backwards, each step taken carefully. Please don’t let a bear come out. Maybe Hannah and Beth are already back at the lodge. I decide to think positively, and take one last step backwards before turning.
My chest immediately hits a large figure in front of me, and instinctively I scream. Chris’s hand goes over my mouth, muffling my yells.
“Shh, stop, it’s me”
I calm down, my heart raising so much I feel it in my throat. I feel tears threatening to fall in the corners of my eyes. I need to get a hold of myself.
“Have the others come back?”
“I don’t know, I came to get you first”
“They could still be out there”
His hand goes to my arms, feeling my cold skin. When he does, I realise how warm he is, or maybe how numb I am.
“Shit, you’re freezing”
“Chris, what if something happened?” He takes off his jacket and puts it on me, forcing my arms inside the soft sleeves. He’s still wearing a thick sweater underneath, not being too cold.
“They’ve basically grown up here, they’re probably back at the lodge right now”
I nod. That makes sense. They know these woods like they know their backyard, but why haven’t I heard them? And what was that horrid scream?
“Have you woken Josh?”
“I don’t know, come on, let’s get you back”
I look behind as we walk, the previous footsteps now being invisible to the eye.

Round 3. Round 3.... Babies are crying in the streets. Fields of soldiers lie dead, having comfort in knowing they fought till the end. What I'm getting at is that this round was very eventful and a lot of fan favorites have fallen. Perhaps even more than anyone expected. Let's do the round recap/ in memorial thing.
I feel it would be a disservice to start with anyone but Ángel. When he came into this tournament he was just a rookie. But the Beebites fought with a ferocity that wasn't seen anywhere in the tournament. It felt like they were gaining momentum as the tournament went on. No one knew if they could even be stopped. And then they met the flower. To be fair, the flower is a strong contender for winning this whole thing. He's in the sweet spot of being a very complex character from a super popular source, and that's something that very few in the tournament can claim. But that does not make the loss of Ángel sting any less.
We similarly saw the exit of Noel, who also was an underdog who managed to pull off some upsets. But Niko had a bit too much star power. However debates over if Niko counts as being in a timeloop have been raging so we'll have to see if that hamper's their future performance.
We also lost the last joke character, that being "when you really really suck at a hard game". Honestly it got farther than I think most expected... I wonder if Bill Murray could have won if he had been against the same opponent.
I would argue the most surprising loss was definitely Hatchling. Like both characters are quite similar, being silent protagonist I feel it would really just come down to which source was liked more. And while LoZ is by far the more well known game, I feel like Outer Wilds is one where people who have played it REALLY like it. So I wonder if it's just that the group that has played Outer Wilds is smaller than expected, or maybe people feel more attached to Link's story than expected.
And of course... the moment you all knew was coming, the mourning of Mr Arimnaes. I have kept it no secret that he was the one I hoped would win it all, so to see him go is very sad. There is also something I must reveal, and you all will not like it.
You see, at the beginning of this tournament ISAT characters were banned from submissions due to them having too big of an advantage. However given the history of this blog I wasn't just going to NOT have siffrin. So I told everybody that I had a plan for him. Many people assumed that this meant that whoever won the main tournament would get to face off against siffrin. This was partially correct... Mr Arimnaes, would you please step to the side?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You see, Arimnaes and Siffrin chose to join this tournament as a duo, sharing one bracket spot, but so as not to make it too easy, Siffrin chose to make himself hidden until now. And you see there can still only be one winner, so if that bracket spot won the tournament there would have needed to be one more tie breaker between Arimnaes and Siffrin. So that is the ONLY scenario in which Siffrin would have gone against the winner. So I'm sorry to say... Siffrin has been eliminated from the tournament.
Oh and one last thing; I didn't get to use them so here's a bunch of miscellaneous funny sprites of Mr Arimnaes;

And with that I bid you adieu, have a good day, see you in round 4, Drake and Josh.

⚠️CHAPTER WARNINGS⚠️
[self-harm mentions/references, in-patient setting, blood, mental health issues]
Tumblr media
An in-patient facility was not the place you were expecting to spend your month, but it's not surprising considering your track record of mental health problems. Ever since you were young, you had a bad habit. Self harm. The feeling gave you a blissful relief, and seeing the red left you distracted from the outside world.
It was the easiest and best way for you to cope. Sure, the medications your parents got your doctor to prescribe you helped somewhat. But the anguish and depression that constantly consumed you didn't ease up much. And after a severe manic episode, your parents had enough and admitted you to the Ocean View mental hospital.
That's how you found yourself in a month stay. It was really bad at first. You were screaming, crying, begging not to be taken there. The whole intake session you were inconsolable, asking how long you had to stay there. When you first heard '30 days' come out of your assigned therapists mouth, you felt like fainting.
It wasn't all bad though, you met a guy around your age. His name was Josh. He'd just arrived there the day before you. Before meeting him, there was a whole process of frisking you by staff and making you strip to check for any previous wounds or sharp objects. They give you a fresh pair of the hospitals clothes to change into afterwards.
You say goodbye to your parents and hug them when you're done; they each kiss your cheeks with a tearful eyes and wave farewell. One of the staff leads you through hallways and into the 'day room' where all the other patients are put in during the day to have some freedom and relax.
Necks are broken and voices quiet to look at you when you enter, countless eyes boring into your soul. They were interested to see who else was damned here. Your anxiety starts to fill your nerves as you walk over to an empty table, avoiding all eye contact. You just wanted to be left alone to calm down.
The chatter starts up again, only now a few eyes were on you. A specific set in particular however, found you. Intriguing. The stranger strolls up to your table, not even asking if he could sit with you and takes the empty chair beside you, a lopsided smile adorning his lips as he speaks in a deep and somewhat slurred tone.
"Hey, nice to meet you. I'm Josh." He says as he extended a hand out to you.
He was a fairly built guy. Short, brown locks for hair and an interesting shade of green for eyes. His skin was a olive toned, brownish shade. He looked tired, and exhausted. Eyebags hung underneath his eyes, but who's wasn't in this place?
You stare at his hand for a second, contemplating if you really feel like making friends right now. But considering the fact that you'll be there a while, you decide on being friendly.
"Likewise, I'm [Y/n]." You return his handshake, finding it hard to keep eye contact. The only thing you could think about at the moment is how much you didn't want to be in the hospital to begin with.
"So, what's it like here?" You ask with curiosity. "Best to know what's in store for me, right?" You add on in a light joking tone, causing Josh to crack a smile.
"Yeah well it's no luxury hotel, I can tell you that much. I haven't been here long either, only since last night." He admits which makes you visibly deflate, the fear of the unknown starting to get to you.
Josh notices and tries to save the mood.
"Hey hey it's not all bad, on the weekends we get to play games and let loose." He says and is only left with silence. His eyes look around the room for a bit before speaking again.
"Yeah this place fucking sucks." He admits, earning a laugh from you and causing him to smile wide.
Thus, you began sprouting a friendship with Josh in the mental hospital. It mostly consisted of you guys hanging out in the day room, sitting next to each other, cracking jokes, and talking about life at home. That's when you found out why Josh was in-patient in the first place. The death of his two sisters, Hannah and Beth.
Josh was really good at hiding his mental problems, using jokes and dark humor to cope with his trauma. There was only one time where his facade slipped, and it wasn't even in front of you. It was during the middle of your stay. You could tell Josh was acting different that day too. He was a bit more quiet, talked lower, and zoned out a lot more than usual. When he was eventually called away by his therapist to have their daily session, you felt instant bordem sink in.
There wasn't much you could do on weekdays. A TV was mounted on the wall, but the movies you could watch were very limited. You zoned out, thinking about what events in your life led you here. That was until you heard an agonizing scream from outside of the day room, down the halls. A scream that you could only recognize as Josh's voice. A lot of the words he was saying were muffled and inaudible, but you could make out a few words like 'fault' and 'prank'.  You couldn't quite understand what was going on and you could tell he was distressed. An hour later, Josh was back from his therapy session and he walked out like nothing happened. You tried not to act awkward about it, but it was a weird moment. You brushed it off and didn't say anything related to it since you assumed he'd tell you if he was comfortable with it.
He never went into detail about what happened with his sisters. It was so vague, you had to piece together that they were dead in the first place. You never pressed him about it though. You knew it was a very sensitive subject, since it's the cause of him being here in the first place. On the other hand, you didn't mind opening up to him on why you were there.
You would show him your scars when no prying eyes were looking once you got comfortable enough with him to share. They were, gruesome. Is how he'd put it lightly. The first time he saw them he made a pretty clear surprised face you mistook for disgust, your insecurities flaring up a bit. But he quickly apologized and carefully caressed your shaking arm with a calming gentleness.
"I-I'm sorry, [Y/n], I just. I've seen some nasty stuff from the other patients but yours takes the cake." He tries to joke with a nervous laugh. It doesn't make you feel better though. He sighs, and retracts his hand while you two sat in silence for a few moments.
He speaks up hesitantly, trying to figure out how to lighten the mood when a thought comes to mind. "If it makes you feel better, even in the slightest. I think they're beautiful." Your eyebrows furrow in confusion. "What do you mean?" He sighs, lowering his eyes to the ground while rubbing the back of his neck trying to gather his thoughts.
"It's like. It just shows that no matter how much pain and suffering you've been in, you're still here. You're still living. You exist. Your scars show what you've had to endure and that you made it to another day." His capturing green eyes look up at your [e/c] ones, trying hard to convey the sincerety in his voice.
"I just find your strength admirable, ya know? I hope that makes sense.." He smiles anxiously, hoping to the Gods he didn't make himself look like a bigger idiot. He waits a few seconds for your response-when you finally manage a small smile at him.
"Yeah. It makes sense." You softly say, appreciating his words. His grin widened at your smiling face and you two continued chatting about whatever came to your minds the rest of the day.
Both of you became close, as close as a mental hospital would let you. If the staff found out you were sharing your last names with each other, you'd get in trouble. It was strongly discouraged because 'you're here for treatment, not to make friends.' That didn't deter you and Josh though. You ended up learning his last name, 'Washington', and he told you about how his dad is a popular movie director. You kinda had a hunch his family had a lot of money but you didn't expect them to be that rich. He explained how he owned a mountain as well as how him and his friend would go visit their lodge for a few days to a week in the summer and winter. The way he explained the getaway trips made it sound so fun, leaving you longing for an experience like that.
"That sounds amazing!" you'd exclaim everytime he talked about the lodge.
"Next time we go, I'll invite you. I promise." He'd always say, you both making a quiet promise with your pinky fingers. But you never knew how serious he was. You never kept your hopes up about seeing him after you got out, you knew it was a small chance since both your hometowns were hours away from each other.
That was until he slipped you his phone number on a tiny slip of paper. He gave you a playful wink, indicating that you know what to do with it when you get home. It was the last exchange you guys had before Josh was discharged, leaving you to stay there one more night. The last day without him was the hardest. It's like he brought life into the place. You were practically spending everyday with him for 29 days straight, and you got used to his playful presence. It would be a lie to say you didn't develop a small crush on him during your time together.
The second you were out of the hospital and made it home, you just wanted to run up into your room, lock it, and text Josh-clutching the small piece of paper with his number on it close to your chest; brimming with excitement. But alas, your parents wouldn't allow you a moment to be alone. They showered you in love and affection, presenting gifts to you left and right the second you guys stepped inside. You tucked away the paper with a sigh, reminding yourself you'd be able to talk to him soon enough.
After a few hours of hanging in the living room and talking about your stay at Ocean View (only barely mentioning Josh as you didn't want them to question you for another hour) you tell them that you're exhausted and that you wanted to sleep. They reluctantly agree after they insisted you sleep in the living room with them so they could keep an eye on you, which you shut down immediately and reassure that you'd be fine alone.
You hug them goodnight and lug up all the gifts into your room, swiftly locking the door and hurriedly pulling out the notepaper and your phone-punching in the digits a little too eagerly. You already craved his ridiculous jokes and teasing. Once you added his contact, your finger hesitates over the typing section. 'Would he respond?' 'Would he want to talk?' 'Did he actually care about you?' 'Was he pretending the whole time to be your friend just to hurt you in the end for his own entertainment?'
Countless worrying thoughts filled your mind, and your anxiety begins to build. You felt the urge to self-harm to help deal with the stress you felt, even if it was something so minor. It's just how your brain processed these things. But you manage to suppress it somewhat. You take deep breaths, using breathing exercises like your therapist suggested to do when you got like this. Once you calmed down, you began to shoot him a simple text:
You: "Hey Josh, it's [Y/n]. Sorry it took me a bit to text, my parents were talking to me for what felt like forever. How've you been?"
You contemplate if this was a good text; if it seemed too desperate or corny. But you close your eyes and hit send anyway. Conflicting thoughts ran through your brain if this was a good idea or not. You were told it was strictly forbidden to ever become friends with people in the mental hospital by the staff and your therapist because it might be dangerous for both parties. You didn't care during that time, thinking: 'It can't be that bad, right?' And now, you weren't too sure, your overthinking thoughts swirling around like a typhoon.
Until a few seconds later you heard a 'ping' come from your phone. You immediately open your eyes to see what it was; hoping for Josh. And your heart raced when he responded.
Josh: "Well if it isn't Ms. Marbles finally remembering about lil' old me. Took you long enough"
Marbles was a nickname Josh gifted to you so generously in the mental hospital in reference to you quite literally losing your marbles-the cause for you to get admitted. And ironically enough, you really enjoyed playing a marble game with him during game nights so it was a two in one combo.
You roll your eyes with a sigh, relieved that he texted back and also the faint annoyance at such a cringe nickname, but it still made you smile nonetheless.
You: "Marbles? Really? Couldn't keep that dumb name back in Ocean View?"
Josh on the other side of the screen was smiling wide, happy to finally talk to you again once more. He missed your company and voice dearly.
Josh: "You wound my ego, Marbles! I'll have you know I'm the greatest nickname giver in the whole world. So be honored that you were personally given one by me ;)"
You scoff at the text. He was always such a complex and interesting guy. But his shenanigans were amusing to you, so you often didn't mind them. You kinda got used to the name overtime anyways when he'd see you in the day room and call you over by it constantly. Even though you acted like you hated it, deep down, you felt special the moment he gave you a nickname.
For the next 9 months you and Josh continued to stay in contact. You would text, call, Skype, and even play games together like Minecraft from time to time. You got close to each other over the months you spent chatting. He even finally confided in you, albeit the tinest bit, about the death of his sisters.
And you were growing on Josh too. The one thing he'd look forward to everyday is a text from you. Even if he didn't tell you that, even if you didn't know, it still meant a lot to him. He cherished the time you spent together, it didn't matter it was through a screen.
Some time at the end of January he invited you to his 'Anual Blackwood Winter get Away'. You were honestly excited to see him again, and you couldn't wait to hang out with him without having staff breathing down your back 24/7.
So of course you said yes and accepted the invitation. You knew it wouldn't just be you and Josh, his friends would be there too. You also knew that his friends were the indirect cause of his sisters deaths. You honestly didn't know how he was still able to hang out with them in the first place, but he said they expressed terrible regret for their actions which is fair. Only 2 of his friends weren't in on it, which you guess is a comforting thought. It's not like you already hate his friends, you just thought the prank was in bad taste and resulted in a terrible tragedy that no one saw coming. You just felt bad for Josh the most, he's the one who had to face the repercussions of his friends actions; losing both his sisters. You could definitely see it still affected him. No matter how much he insisted he was over it, you could tell he was still grieving.
You were there for him as much as you could be, through a screen. It seemed like he had a friend, Sam, who has been helping support him through this tough time in his life. You're thankful for that.
The day arrived when you had to get ready to go to leave for the trip. You woke up extra early, making sure you had enough time to take a shower and go over everything you packed the previous night. You texted Josh after your shower, asking him about the details of transportation. He said you were supposed to take the same bus as Sam to the mountain, since she was one of his most closest friends, he wanted you two to potentially bond and already have a good connection. You were a little anxious to meet her, but he's told you a lot about her and she seemed to be a really cool person you'd get along with.
You start getting dressed, choosing a warm yet stylish outfit. You slip on black thermal leggings, white leg warmers and black snowboots, a blue and white pleated skirt with a matching blue sweater, a cute black leather jacket over, and white earmuffs. You put the earmuffs around your neck to stay until you reach the mountain.
After checking all your essentials and making sure you had everything, you place your duffle bag over your shoulder and grab your phone-putting in wired earbuds to listen to music while on your way to the bus station during the car ride. Your parents dropped you off, making sure you packed your meds and your charger. They hugged you tightly good bye and drove off. You sat on a bench and began scrolling through your phone as you felt a tap on your shoulder.
"Hey! [Y/n], right?" You look up and recognize the blonde haired girl as Sam, from pictures Josh would show you. You give her a polite smile and nod, taking out an earbud and offer a hand for her to shake.
"Yeah, that's me. Nice to meet you." Sam shook your hand, it was soft and warm.
"Likewise, I've heard lots of things about you from Josh. And I mean a lot. He really likes you, you're a good influence on him." Your heart skipped a beat at her words. You didn't think he'd talk about you that much to his friends. But it made you feel happy he thought of you like that.
You two sit and talk for a fat minute, until your bus arrived. Sam and you step aboard, taking a seat close to the back together and continue chatting, talking about each other while the bus drove off to start the journey to your destination.

Top 5 (or 10) things the books did better than the movies?
i am not the person you should be asking this. you have given me way to much power to shit on the movies. i already do that enough unprovoked.
if you love them please block my tag thg: movie criticism (or just block me😭). and trust me no one is happier than me if you enjoy them. i wish that i could too. but it's not happening.
THE BREAD SCENE - i know that time doesn't work the same way in a movie and in a book. i know that. but when a scene in a book is as well written as this one, as important as this one you can give it more than two fucking seconds. find a way for it work i literally don't care. that's your job. this is THE moment that established who katniss is/was who peeta/is was. their connection. asterid's mental health issues. and honestly maybe there is no way to do it justice in a movie format. BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE A SERIES. cause the timing would work so much better. you could basically do an entire episode with how detailed this scene is.
the seam/merchant divide in d12 - which is yet another thing the bread scene established that isn't just not done well but doesn't even exist in the movies. and that's not okay. suzanne plays it safe honestly by not explicitly stating that katniss is not white and i really dislike that. cause she can't be white and she isn't white. obviously this is a story set in future and race is a socially constructed thing. it changes with time. who knows what is going to be considered non white or white in the future. katniss or anyone really isn't even aware of race as a concept but that doesn't mean the effects of it don't exist. they just have a different name for it. the seam people work in the mines but merchants have shops. seam kids take out the tesserae and because of that are more likely to be reaped. i mean peeta's mom treatment of katniss in the bread scene *is* racism. and considering the american history and the fact that d12 is in appalachia katniss should be played by a native actress. then we have the coveys being obviously inspired by romani people. and the fact that after the "new" panem is established almost all of them are killed. it's a literal genocide. and while i really loved rachel zegler's portrayal of lucy gray she, and all the rest of the coveys, should've been played by romani people. it was the decent thing to do. and ignoring race in a story that is set in what is left of america feels wrong. is wrong.
katniss and peeta feeling like actual teenagers and being compelling as characters - they are immature and they're petty and they're impulsive and they are kids. katniss does try to appear and treat herself as an adult but she truly rarely succeeds. cuting out her crying after shooting the pig was so incredibly stupid. and i really dislike jennifer lawrence's performance. is it the script or the director or her i don't know but there isn't a single moment where i feel like i get katniss from her. the acting isn't bad it just isn't katniss. because katniss - she cries... a lot. she leans onto peeta... a lot. she's sensitive and soft inside. she's also often more vulnerable with him than he is with her. and it's the same shit with josh. his lines were so often changed into things peeta would never say and instead of a complex interesting kid we get that stalker from the cave. he doesn't get pissed on the roof, he doesn't get hurt on the train, we don't see him with a black eye after the bread scene. he doesn't throw a lamp and a statue when angry which isn't good but it opens up his relationship with anger. which is a very heartbreaking one. and then his hijacking looses its narrative value.
haymitch's alcoholism being treated as a joke most of time is awful. it's just so sanitized. any pain and trauma is. maybe i'm remembering it wrong but doesn't katniss trial last a day instead of weeks in the movies. the games are to clean as well. especially the aftermath of the first ones. it's not supposed to be pretty.
on the topic of the first games - katniss and peeta not being back to back and putting the berries in their mouth. i know people love him touching her braid but it's wrong. in the movie they are really amping up the difference between the two katniss is looking up and he's touching her but in the book they are a team. and they trust each other. they.are.back.to.back. AND PEETA IS THE ONE SAYING HOLD THEM OUT I WANT EVERYONE TO SEE. and just in general everlark's dynamic is awful and boring. they don't fight on the roof, they don't challenge each other, they're not kids playing catch with the force field, katniss doesn't fall in love with his eyelashes and peeta doesn't fall in a love with a song. not really. the magic is gone. the music is gone and i'm watching a soulless action movie. and i hate it.

Question the group?
Prologue
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Wait what are we talking about?"
Everyone's attention suddenly snaps to you as you mumble out words, no one thought you were anywhere near sober enough to hear them.
Mike, ever the leader, speaks first "Nothing y/n go to bed."
"No don't brush me off I wanna know!" You huff and Sam has to adjust her grip on you.
Jess rolls her eyes and walks closer to you "Look y/n all you need to know is we're playing a little prank on Hannah, she's been trying to get with Mike and needs to be taught a lesson."
You frown "But that's mean, Hannah- Hannah invited us all up here, this is her place, we gotta be nice invitees." your eyes are starting to slip close and more and more weight is being leaned onto Sam.
Ashley steps forward now "Technically it was Josh who invited us, but anyways it's nothing bad, just a small little prank." She smiles at you in a way that reassures your drunken mind.
You giggle, "Okk then, I'll help her dye all your teeth blue later in revenge." You are humored by your own joke and start giggling and laughing more.
Sam lets out a sigh and starts to drag you away. "Bye guys, I hope you make the right decision."
You close your eyes and lean againist Sam trusting her to take you somewhere as the world spins beneath your eyelids. By the time you open then again you are in a room lit by a fire that you can see Beth standing by and a couch in front of it that holds your boyfriend.
"Joshhhh" you break off from Sam and stumble to the couch, nearly tripping over the edge of it before flopping down on top of the man already laying there.
"Y/n babyyy my gorgeous amazing other half." His words were also slurred and his arms clumsily come up to curl around you tightly as he buries his face in your hair. You giggle and turn your face towards the fire to find Beth looking at the two of you fondly.
"Hiii Elizabeth, Bethy, my lovely friend." You reach the hand closest out to her and she takes it and gives it a little squeeze.
"Hi y/n. Partied hard?" She's smiling in a way that says she's already taken pictures of the scene to use as blackmail later on.
"Ugh yes, and just give me like thirty minutes and I will be ready to party again." As you say this your eyes drift further closed and you feel yourself relaxing more and more into Josh.
"Mhm sure." She snorts and lets go of your hand which you wrap around Josh. "Sleep well y/n, we can party tomorrow night."
You hum contently and close your eyes. You nestle your face into the crook of Josh's neck and settle further into your comfy human pillow. Between the heat of your boyfriend and the fire, you find yourself drifting off to sleep to the quiet crackle of wood, and breathing of Josh in minutes.
ʚїɞ
The way you wake up isn't quiet.
Instead of soft fire glow it's harsh red and blue lights. Instead of soft breathing it's loud voices and the crackle of walkie-talkies.
Those sounds stay for weeks until suddenly it's quiet. Quiet as in feelings of regret and grief. Quiet as in sobbing over a closed case and two graves.
You think you prefer the sirens.

End of Prologue
Chapter 1
OBaC Masterlist
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Prologue is finished! Sorry if this isn't accurate to how you personally would act drunk. Featuring a little fluffy moment with Josh and Beth before the bad stuff. :( Did all the talk of seeing Hannah and Beth later make you sad hehe. I felt evil putting that in.
Anyways I'm putting the text for the beginning of Chapter 1 above but I need to rewatch some of the game first so I can write everything accurately. It will be linked when it's done which will most likely be later this week or early next week!! As always likes, reblogs and comments are appriciated!

winners are grinners c.f
Tumblr media
plot: arsenal women are asked to join the sidemen for a collaboration video and you and your girlfriend are asked to come.
warnings: none really, might come out with a harry version later for fun
Tumblr media
You had your arm around your girlfriends shoulder when they pressed the record button and one of the seven boys who's named you found out was JJ started yelling at the camera.
You had known about the sidemen, you did live in London after all their fans were everywhere and almost all their videos went viral.
You smiled when you felt Caitlin laugh at one of their jokes and looked at her "ya happy we came?" you whispered and she turned to you "I reckon we smash em" she smiled and you laughed at her enthusiasm.
It was early in your relationship and you hadn't made anything public yet in terms of media-wise, you tried to keep it a secret from the team but the captains clearly latched on to your closeness and beat it out of you.
When they were discussing the 'discount code' you slipped your arm off Caitlin and started playing with the soccer ball underneath your feet "What about Gunners" you said when they didn't like their first word.
"Oh yeah Gunners!" KSI said with a shrug as Josh celebrated behind him.
You all went to your spots as one named Ethan just explained the first game. "Someone throws the ball in, touch it once, and then kick for a goal," he said and you all agreed.
"I don't think we need to ask if we're partners right?" Caitlin joked, her Aussie accent popping through as you laughed "yeah but you're going first"
JJ went first, kicking a fairly easy shot but your goal keeper and friend Manu must have been day dreaming cause she watched it go through without moving.
"Manu babe!" you called out "You just watched it go in!" you called out to her which made the girls laugh "I'm warming up" she defended herself and all the girls laughed again.
You were happy you agreed to come now it seems more fun than you thought.
The boys were still celebrating as you patted Ruby "your turn Rubesicle" you told her as she and Noelle went over.
You looked at Caitlin whose competitive nature had taken over her as she started to squint around "You're going to get lines if you squint Catie" you teased and she shook her head "Shut up".
You smiled, proud of yourself as Ruby took her shot and Toby caught it, next was Harry who had an impressive kick but Manu shot up and tapped it away which left you speechless.
All the girls erupted in cheers at your friends talent and all the boys clapped whilst complimenting her save.
"Care to do that against Chelsea next time?" you called out and smiled when you saw Manu look at you with a deadpan expression.
Noelle went next and also kicked an incredible shot but Toby blocked it in the same mannerisms as Manu.
Everyone went into shambles again and Noelle went to her knees, you got so excited that you clung on to Caitlin that let out a loud gasp.
"That was the save of his lifetime!" Noelle yelled and everyone laughed.
Next was Ethen who hit the post and you and Caitlin walked up to the camera which you smiled at.
"Hi my names Caitlin Foord" Caitlin introduced herself "I should score but we'll see" she shrugged, you laughed at your girlfriend as you repeated her words to her "C'mon Caity" you encouraged before throwing the ball up and watching as she touched it with her knee and kicked it into the middle and straight into Toby's hands.
"Caitlin!" you yelled knowing that she could kick a better goal in her sleep "It is scarier than you think" she defended herself to you as you both laughed going back.
You watched Josh go next as he tried to do something cool but failed...miserably.
You couldn't hold in your laugh as he whipped his head around to see where the ball was and Simon who was next to you laughed harder from your reaction.
"We brought grandad with us today, sorry" Ethan yelled out and for a second you felt bad for the man but he was also laughing at himself so it seemed fine.
You and Caitlin walked up again as you looked into the camera.
"Hi my names y/f/n but if I miss it's Caitlin Foord" you smiled before Caitlin yelled out a 'hey' as you smiled cheekily at her.
Caitlin threw the ball as you touched it with your right foot to keep it on the ground but went back a little to smash it, it seemed like it was going to go in before Toby stretched out his leg and hit it out with his foot.
You groaned as Caitlin laughed at you and grabbed you to take you to the line.
"You almost made me do the splits!" Toby called out and you laughed "be more flexible then" you defended with a smile.
A couple more shots later and a failed trick shot the whole fourteen of you were smiling ear to ear as you all had fun. Simon got another one in and now you and Caitlin were going up "I reckon low corners he's expecting high shots" you told her as you looked at the goalie.
"hey, no team chatting!" JJ called out as you both laughed and separated, you threw the ball and Caitlin touched it before kicking back left corner which he thought would go high, just as you predicted.
You cheered for Caitlin before she opened her arms for a big hug as you ran back to the girls "on the map" you sang out to them.
It was your turn soon enough and you did the same thing as Caitlin but switched to your left boot so it would go the other way which Toby got confused by and dived the other direction.
"Oi she's strategic!" Simon yelled out towards you as you gave an innocent smile to them which they laughed at. When you were walking back Caitlin whispered in your ear "such a smart girl" she praised as you blushed.
Once it was your turn again you completely smashed it with your left foot making the ball go fast so Toby wasn't quick enough to stop it as it hit the net.
"Let's go!" Noelle yelled out from her spot on the side and Ethan clapped "beautiful!" he hyped as a smile formed on your face and Caitlin laughed.
The boys ended up hitting 5 before the girls and next was a crossbar challenge which Caitlin ended up being a gun at, scoring three of the five you and Ruby being the other two to score one.
You looked at the camera before sighing "something about the boys crying out in defeat is empowering" you shrugged and walked off, you didn't know that clip of you would become viral in a couple of days.
Penalty's were next and you put yourself up second in line, before Caitlin, you were first to get one in for the girls and Caitlin quickly behind as you both clapped hands.
"They're like a dynamic duo" JJ whispered out loud "if only you knew" you joked back and Caitlin pulled you away before you could see the look on their faces.
Your next one you ran towards the left but kicked it to the right making Toby confused and go to the left making your shot clear and easy.
"I'm quite proud of myself there" You smiled at Caitlin who smiled "You're too adorable," she told you before going up herself.
It was now 9 - 7 and you only needed one more goal for the girls to win the round and it was your turn.
"This is really nerve-wracking" you admitted before the boys started yelling things out about 90-minute goals and champion leagues.
You winked at Caitlin before taking your shot when it hit the net all the girls came running at you with cheers and you jumped up and down.
Next was free kicks and everybody kinda sucked at it but the boys eventually scored three, even if you accidentally hit Harry in the chest and had to apologize six times as he said 'It's fine' with a clearly winded voice.
It was two all and we decided to end it on rock paper scissors which you elected Caitlin for.
"Why me?" she asked "Cause I will end up forgiving you if you lose," you said as the others nodded Caitlin just rolled her eyes and went against Vik.
Vik went rock and Caitlin paper so we won and all the girls went into cheers and you jumped on Caitlin's back "Oh yeah!" you yelled out as she laughed at your excitement.
When she put you down she covered her microphone "Am I going to get rewarded for this miraculous win" she said with a smirk and you just smirked back at her.
"maybe".

mike as ghostface and yall doing that rp in the bedroom PERHAPSSS🫣
ahh i've always imagined josh in a ghostface costume but mike.. oh mike..
mike who suggests to watch scream with you because josh recommended the movie, he expects it to be good, but not THAT good
after the movie is over you joke with mike not expecting to actually spark something inside him
"you know what? maybe you should get a mask like that"
"oh yeah? you'd like that wouldn't you.."
after that you just kinda forget about it and don't bring up that damn mask again
but mike doesn't forget. for days he thinks about it and what he would do to you while wearing it
and then late one night he's scrolling on his phone and sees an ad from a costume site. it must be a sign, right? and before he even realizes he buys the mask
he waits so eagerly for it to come and when he finally gets it he cannot wait to surprise you with it
he has everything planned out for the night. he invites you over to watch a scarry movie and asks you to go and prepare some popcorn
and while you're busy in the kitchen he gets his shirt off, unbuckles his jeans and puts on the mask then lays down on the bed and dials your number with no caller id
you hesitate at first but decide to pick up not expecting your boyfriend to call you when he's in the next room waiting for you
"who is this??"
"whatchu doin'?"
you recognize his voice even though it's a bit more.. breathy? and muffled by something, almost like his mouth is covered by something. you feel a little smirk creeping up on your face before you answer
"oh.. just some popcorn"
"you're makin' popcorn?"
"yeah, i'm about to watch a scarry movie with my boyfriend"
you decide to play along with his little game while making your way towards the door of your bedroom
"you like scarry movies..?"
"uh huh"
"what's your favourite scarry movie?"
"well.. let me think about it for a second"
before he can respond you open the door and lay your eyes on him laying on your bed wearing only his unbuckled jeans and a ghostface mask
in the dark of the room you can notice the bulge in his jeans when he drops his phone on the bed and you can't stop staring at him
"you like the view darlin'? why don't you come sit on my lap, huh?
that's all it takes for you to forget about the movie and the popcorn you were preparing
now you're sitting in mike's lap with your back towards him while he has his hand in your soaked underwear
"if i knew how wet you'd get from this mask i would've bought it a looong time ago.."
you can't even respond to him. you're too focused on his muffled breathing and the denim covered bulge that keeps poking at you
you feel the plastic of the mask digging into your shoulder from behind as he starts rubbing at your clit in slow circles
it's safe to say that you did not get to watch any scarry movie nor eat any of the burnt popcorn forgotten in the kitchen 👀

Hii, can you write a story about my theory for the bathroom couches
"...ty-one!"
There was a series of frowns at that, the gang momentarily lifting their heads from what they'd been doing to shoot each other suspicious glances. Clearly it hadn't been any of them who'd done the talking - the voice was strangely distant and, somehow even more strangely, excited - but still, the sentiment remained.
"I-I'm sorry?" Hannah said after a moment, glancing up towards the ceiling as if it'd been some higher power to shout at them.
And then, making all the noise of a suit of armor come to life, Mike came barrelling down the lodge's staircase, sock-sliding across the great room's hardwood until he bumped against the sectional. "Thirty-ooone," he repeated, bracing himself against the back of the couch. "That's how many fucking couches you guys got in this place, you know that? What gives?"
Hannah's head was instantly in her hands. "Oh God."
"Yeah, y'know...I've been wondering about that too," Sam said slowly, setting down her big book of crossword puzzles to glance around the lodge instead, the tally in her head almost visible as she counted couch after couch. "I mean. I guess I figured it was because, uh...ski lodge. Company. That kind of thing. But...you guys do have a lot."
"And the one in the bathroom?!" Emily cut in. "The one in the bathroom is pretty heinous."
Instead of bothering to deal with their chatter individually, Beth heaved a sigh and raised her voice, speaking up over them as if she didn't care. She also continued smashing buttons on her controller as if she didn't care. And her eyes? On the tv, baby. Like she didn't care. (Spoiler: She didn't). "Once upon a time," she began, "there was this wormy little kid named Josh."
"Wormy, huh?" he asked, offhandedly at best, hunched over with his elbows on his knees as he pulled off another sick combo on-screen. "That's a new one."
"The thing about Josh," Beth continued, paying him literally no attention as she wrung his health bar dry, "was he never slept."
"Still don't! It's one of my fun little quirks. Gives me personality."
"And it took Mom and Dad forever to figure out, but - " she paused long enough to wrench her body to the side as if it would help her character dodge, and, miraculously, it did, " - eventually they noticed he'd conk out on a couch even if he wouldn't fall asleep in bed."
"Know where monsters like hiding, B? Under beds. Know what you never hear about? Monsters hiding under couches."
Tapping her pencil against her crossword book, Sam scrunched her mouth together. It was a good point. She didn't say that part out loud. A quick glance around the great room told her the others were thinking the same.
"So," Beth kept saying, "Mom, being the worry-wort she is, filled this place with couches just in case little Joshy needed a little nappy-nap. And Dad, ever-resourceful, used the ski lodge excuse every time so he could get a tax write-off or something, I don't know. It sort of snowballed. Our family isn't really known for, like, restraint."
"No," Emily pretended to gasp. "The family that bought a whole goddamn mountain? You don't say."
"...and the one in the bathroom?" Mike repeated, his emphasis clear. "Please...please don't tell me you were napping in the bathroom, dude. There...there have to be limits."
"Tub takes an awful long time to fill, my man. Anyone would get sleepy waiting for that shit."
On the other side of the sectional, having until-then been silent, Jess let out a huge, whooping sigh of relief. "Oh thank Gawwwwwd," she groaned, dramatically slumping across the cushions. "I was so sure it was gonna be some weird pervvy sex thing."
"It can be both," Beth and Josh said in unison, deadpan and only half-paying attention as they kept playing their game. Joke or not, it was too much for poor Hannah, who slid off the couch altogether, moaning and groaning and huddling onto a ball of mortification on the floor.

Do you think there was a plan for Josh and Sam to have a romance in Until Dawn? I feel like it was implied that they at least have feelings for each other by Josh's "joke" about helping Sam with the bath/specific mention of her being there and Sam's comment at the end of the game, but if so i wonder why they didn't give more lore or moments between them. I mean the big obvious reason is that Josh was playing his elaborate prank on the others and he was obviously not in a good mental state and just lost his sisters and would be gone the majority of the game. But idk i just wish we could have had more knowledge about them or scenes with them. Josh gives the vibe that he talks more game than he has. I believe when he truly likes someone he is quite smitten and sometimes surprises himself with the things he may blurt out. Honestly, i don't think Sam didn't want to "take advantage" of Josh considering the events going on so she was being very careful and considering her feelings but this traumatic event was bringing them together *cough what Josh said Chris and Ash needed* so it was getting hard to deny those feelings.
Oh I like this question! I’ve mentioned it before, but Josh x Sam is my favorite ship.
I don’t think there’s much evidence they were originally intended to be a couple or that the devs see it that way. Even so, I definitely got the impression that Josh cared for Sam more deeply than anyone but Chris. His stats show that Sam is 3-way tied for second with Ashley and Jess, and Sam’s have most people equal (Mike and Jess are lower), but there’s a lot of lore connecting Josh and Sam.
Josh comes across as kind of girl-crazy to me, because of his comments towards Sam, Jess, and Ashley. But there are several things that jumped out to me about him and Sam:
There’s dialogue where Josh tells Sam that he’s happy everyone could make it to the lodge. Then he emphasizes the fact that he’s happy Sam could make it.
Sam says in her interviews that Josh had told her that he felt a special bond with her. Josh had claimed that Sam understood him more than anyone and that they had a connection.
Josh talks a ton about finding her pretty. Again, he does this to other girls, but there’s quite a lot of it during Sam’s psycho chase.
There are some little gestures and statements the characters make that I find sweet too. If Sam is nervous to explore the sound in the basement by herself, she’ll hold onto Josh’s arm when they look together. When Josh and Sam get chased by Chris in the monk costume, Josh will hold out his arm to prevent “the masked monk” from getting to Sam. Sam, if she finds the psycho lair, can tell Josh she thinks he’s crying for help which is very empathetic and caring, considering what he put her through.
Finally, I did write an analysis for Reddit at some point, just unpacking Josh’s motives, and I did find it interesting to reflect on Josh showing Sam the tape of him dying, particularly because (as you also noted) he admits/hints a few times that his prank has been intended to bring people closer, and the game gives a lot of indicators that it was meant to be psychological manipulation.
Josh is deeply disturbed, obviously, and it’s not always clear what his exact logic is— but I do get the sense/headcanon that he genuinely wanted to see what Sam and Chris would do in situations involving his death. His dialogue towards Chris while he’s “dying” is very much “we’re still friends, right?” and he’s legitimately pissed later if Chris chooses Ashley.
Josh: Bro! Bro, we've been through so much, come on... I don't wanna go out like this...!
Josh: I know... I know we haven't been the best of friends lately... and I've been kinda messed up and everything... but I'm getting better, man... I swear!
Josh: I thought we were FRIENDS man! I thought we were FRIENDS why would you DO THIS!?
Josh: NO! OH GOD WHAT DID I DO!??
I mean, this can be read a few ways, certainly. Josh is definitely trying to terrify and mess with Chris, and the last line could also be fake-directed at the psycho. But some of this dialogue sounds like it has a grain of truth in it. Josh may be safe, and he does want Ashley to ultimately think Chris saved her, but he is genuinely learning whom his best friend loves more and truly does have to make sense of why Chris doesn’t choose him, if that’s the case.
Now, with this context, I feel like he plays a similar game with Sam. He, as the psycho, asks Sam how she feels about seeing Josh die.
Sam turns back around to see Josh getting cut in half.
Sam: Josh!
Psycho: How does it make you feel?
I sense there’s a level of dark curiosity Josh has with Sam and Chris. And my interpretation here tracks with how I view their relationships. I believe he cares about what Sam and Chris think. He wants the whole group, particularly the couples (DOUBLE particularly to Chris and Ashley), to get closer. But when he goes about attempting this bonding for himself— it’s most clear that he might be trying to do so with Sam and Chris.
All this said, I do think there’s less canonically indicating that Sam has quite the same level of feelings for Josh. Sam is very independent while also being something of a “Team Mom.” I think she’s known Josh a long time due to her friendship with Hannah, and it’s evident that she spent a lot of time talking to him after the twins vanished. Josh just has a bit more indicating he loves Sam as more than friends than vice versa.
So uh TL;DR—
I think it makes a lot of sense that Josh has a crush on Sam. It’s unconfirmed, but there are many things that caught my eye and made me interpret that. The reading that feels the most accurate is that it’s a bit one-sided, because it feels stronger on Josh’s end. That said, Josh and Sam as a ship fascinates me and has SO MUCH GOOD about it given their defined history. Also, the conversations they can have feel less superficial than how most of the couples talk. I like it a lot.

D&D
Pairing: Dalton Kincaid x Rockstar!Readet, Dawson Knox x Rockstar!Reader
Summary: Being Tom Brady’s daughter has always put her in the spotlight, but now, she’s at the center of the NFL’s biggest off-field rivalry. After a viral video of her, Dalton Kincaid, and Dawson Knox filming a Super Bowl promo sparks dating rumors, things escalate when she’s spotted on a romantic night out with Dalton. The internet goes wild, and the Bills locker room isn’t far behind—players roast Dalton while Dawson Knox refuses to back down, playfully declaring he’s still in the race.
A week after he appearance on Dudes on Dudes, the internet explodes again—this time over a video that goes viral of her, Dalton Kincaid, and Dawson Knox filming promo for her Super Bowl Halftime performance. In the clip, she’s effortlessly charismatic, laughing and playfully nudging both tight ends, and the chemistry is impossible to ignore. The way she interacts with both of them has people buzzing—flirty glances, inside jokes, lingering touches.
At one point, Dawson jokingly throws his arm around her shoulder, calling her "the real MVP," while Dalton smirks and quips, "Careful, Knox, she might have higher standards than that." She laughs, pushing them both playfully before shooting the camera a knowing look. The moment sends the internet into a frenzy.
It doesn’t take long for fans to start speculating: Is she dating one of them? Both?
The rumors hit a fever pitch when she’s seen out on a date with Dalton Kincaid a week later. Paparazzi snap pictures of them leaving a high-end steakhouse, her laughing at something he says as he opens the car door for her. Inside sources leak details—he had flowers waiting at the table, they shared a bottle of wine, and lingered long after dessert, lost in conversation.
During the date, Dalton leans back in his chair, swirling the last sip of wine in his glass. "You know, I've been getting texts all week from guys around the league asking how I pulled this off."
She smirks, resting her chin on her hand. "And what do you tell them?"
"I just say, 'She likes winners,'" he teases, grinning.
She rolls her eyes but laughs. "Oh, so that’s the game plan? Win, and I’m automatically interested?"
Dalton leans in slightly, voice lower. "Well, it certainly doesn’t hurt."
She raises her eyebrow, playing along. "Good to know. Guess we’ll see if you can keep up that win streak."
Meanwhile, in the Bills locker room, the moment the pictures hit the internet, the roasting begins. Josh Allen holds up his phone, showing one of the paparazzi shots. "Kincaid, you smooth bastard. Flowers, wine? Man went all in."
"I respect the effort, but the real question is—does he have the stamina to keep up?" another player jokes, causing the whole locker room to erupt in laughter.
Dalton groans, shaking his head as he ties his cleats. "You guys act like I proposed or something. It was one date."
Dawson Knox smirks from across the room, tossing a towel over his shoulder. "Yeah, yeah. Just know, I’m still in the race."
"Oh, you think so?" Dalton fires back.
"Oh, I know so," Dawson grins. "She hasn’t shut the door on me yet."
The entire locker room breaks out into cheers, turning the love triangle into a full-on NFL-wide spectacle. And the internet? It's eating up every second of it.
Meanwhile, in a post-game interview, Dawson is asked about the viral pictures. He grins, shaking his head. "I mean, I thought we had something special, but I guess Dalton had the better game plan. No hard feelings—yet."
Dalton, on the other hand, is caught off guard when he's asked about the viral moment in his own press conference. He chuckles, running a hand through his hair. "Look, we had a great time. She's an incredible person, and, uh... yeah, I'm just trying to play it cool before I get absolutely roasted by my teammates. But hey, may the best man win, right?"
The internet goes wild. Memes flood in. Fans pick sides. Suddenly, #TeamDalton vs. #TeamDawson becomes an ongoing NFL side plot.
And she’s just sitting back, watching it all unfold, perfectly aware that she holds all the power.

Dropout Does Nerdy Prudes Must Die
I am a massive Dropout and Team Starkid fan (if the latter isn't obvious enough from looking at my reblogs) and I feel like there's a lot of overlap between the fandoms. My criteria for being considered a "Dropout Person" is anyone who has appeared on a Dropout show at least once, excluding guest appearances (so for example, Monet X Change counts because she's been on one season of D20 and an episode of Um, Actually, but Laganja Estranja doesn't count because she was only a guest on one of the Legally Not Survivor episode of Game Changer)
I will be trying to factor in voice types where I can, but there will be some instances where I just assume the person can sing the part, because I don't know if the person can sing or not. Also, I will be casting each of the individual parts, I know the actors in the OG cast play multiple parts, but there are so many talented people in the Dropout roster that I can cast each part individually.
Please enjoy. Also spoilers for Nerdy Prudes Must Die, I don't think I can talk about this without them. And also for Dimension 20's A Court of Fey and Flowers.
Max Jagerman: Grant O'Brien
I'll be honest, my main motivation for this one is that Grant looks a bit like Will Branner. He does play the heel really well, and I think he would do a great job playing Max, especially his more Freddy Kruger-esque quipping when he's dead.
Also, this is pretty niche, but in an old College Humour year-end video, where they all pick their favourite skits of the year (I think it was like 2018 or 2019?), Grant talks about how he thought it was really funny that in the Jocks and Nerds Both Think They're The Underdogs sketch, he was the closest thing the College Humour cast had to a jock, and this feels pretty similar to that.
Grace Chastity: Anna Garcia
She has a very unhinged "I am short and I will make that everyone else's problem" energy about her that you really need to play Grace. I think she would also do great with the physical comedy needed for the part.
Peter Spankoffski: Omar Najam
Awkward, nerdy guy who falls in love with the baddest bitch in the cast and would die for her. Am I describing Peter Spankoffski or Prince Andhera from A Court of Fey and Flowers? Also I want to hear Omar sing Cool as I Think I Am.
(This is a joke, love Binx but clearly Delloso De La Rue is the baddest bitch in A Court of Fey and Flowers)
Stephanie Lauter: Surena Marie
I don't have a real explanation for this one, this is vibes.
Richie Lipschitz: Ross Bryant
Watching Ross work his way through all the possible nerdy white guy rap options in Game Changer Karaoke cemented for him that he needs to play one of the nerds.
Ruth Flemming: Izzy Roland
A part that requires the performer to be deranged and horny? Call Izzy Roland!
Solomon Lauter: Brennan Lee Mulligan
Any Dimension 20 (or Critical Role: Exandria Unlimited) fan knows, Brennan is amazing at playing callous, cruel and manipulative characters, so Solomon Lauter is right in his wheelhouse.
Wiggly: Josh Ruben
Josh is so good at voices and playing weird characters, I would love to see his take on Wiggly.
Blinky: Erika Ishii
Erika Ishii is absolutely unhinged, I had to cast them as one of the Lords in Black. They could honestly be any one of them, but I picked Blinky because the voice Lauren Lopez does reminds me of Erika.
Nibbly: Lisa Gilroy
This one is also just vibes, but the vibes are correct.
Tinky: Zac Oyama
I am the head of the Zac Oyama As Weird Little Guys fan club, and what is Tinky if not a weird little guy? (who is also a chaotic evil eldritch being)
Pokey: Mike Trapp
I mainly just went off the vibes of the "What do you want Steph?" line, I think Mike would do well.
Detective Shapiro/Female Reporter in Hatchet town: Rashawn Nadine Scott
This is the only one I'm casting two parts, because they're both relatively small (and also I fully forgot that Bryce was not playing Detective Shapiro in Hatchet town until I checked the Genius page lol). Anyway, I think Rashawn would do great at acting as Detective Shapiro, but the main motivation behind this choice is that I want to hear her sing Bryce's part in Hatchet town. She would murder it as hard as Max murders nerdy prudes.
Officer Bailey: Jacob Wysoki
You need someone to chew scenery and throw props? Call Jacob Wysoki, he'll eat it up and go back for seconds
Brenda and Stacy: Jujubee and Monet X Change
I want to see them do the Go Go Nighthawks cheer, I think it would be amazing.
Jason and Kyle: Zeke Nicholson and Ify Nwadiwe
They both seem like the kind of guys to give butt slaps (consensually of course).
Mark and Karen Chastity: Zach Reino and Jess McKenna
They both have Awkward White Parent energy, and I think they would be very funny in this part.
Miss Tessburger: Vic Michaelis
Watching them play Vic Michaelis in Very Important People makes me think they would be great as the haughty assistant.
Miss Mulberry: Katie Marovitch
Katie just has "That nice teacher who lets students eat lunch in her classroom" energy.
Dan Reynolds: Lou Wilson
You need an icon to play an icon.
Emma and Paul : Emily Axford and Brian "Murph" Murphy
Dropout's iconic married couple to play Hatchetfield's iconic couple.
Hard Cuts:
Ify Nwadiwe as Max Jagerman:
He would have slayed the acting, but I assume based on his speaking voice that he's a baritone on the lower end of the range. However, if I am wrong about this and he could sing the tenor part, please treat him and Grant as tied for the part in my eyes.
Ross Bryant as Solomon Lauter
Vic Michaelis as Detective Shapiro
Erika Ishii as Ruth Flemming
Tao Yang as Peter Spankoffski
Jess Ross as Karen Chastity
Jacob Wysoki as Max Jagerman

thinking about how josh always tries playing around WITH other teammates, but always interacts with diggs as if he is something extremely, extraordinarily precious to him. I'm not saying he doesn't care about everyone else, he cares about everyone, but when you're in love, the person you're in love with happens to cross your mind more times than a few.
Like. Josh throwing snow on Gabe Davis and not on stef (even tho he knows Gabe is very protective of his birkin !!) And just letting stef walk by snow-free while he and Gabe banter (in front of stef) (very important to note). Now, diggs was also wearing fancier things than Gabe in cost comparison. He had more than a birkin bag to protect.. Josh knows Stef loves living lavish, and his outfit was probably brand new bcs he also knows stef loves trying new things.. so Josh respects the boundaries that he knows and only plays around with Gabe, who's a little materialistic too but not as much as Stef.
Josh sees Stef coming, he stops talking to his teammates and does a little dance. He knows Stef finds his dancing funny, so he does some dancing!
Thinking about how they were paired during the pandemic, and had to bond literally over call of duty. Thinking about how Diggs was new to the game and how Josh never exploited him for it in the game, or complained about his skill level. Thinking about how Diggs recalls Josh always stopping to heal him as if the silly little call of duty game shenanigans were a honeymoon worthy of forever memory.
Stef keeps headbutting him in the middle of his pregame pep talk, instead of playing off that, Josh keeps his focus and doubles down on his leadership position by continuing his speech unphased. It's not ignoring, though, it's providing a stable foundation for Stef to bounce off of and keep him grounded. Stef's constant touches to allen during his speech let's him know he's doing good in what he's trying to accomplish: being inspiring while also being strong. Josh's strong composure let's Stef know that even with every headbutt, he's not budging, he'll always be right there for Stef to hold and remember who's there in his corner. There's someone stable in his corner, someone who isn't tired or intimidated by his energy, someone willing to observe the options and choose the best one without Stef having to even advise him on it
Although he's talking to everyone, he keeps his hand on STEF'S helmet to let him know He knows he's there, and He appreciates him being there. There's no joking about it. When stef pushes his way into the middle of the huddle just to be by Josh, it's not to hear how funny he can be or how serious, and while he can be either, it's just not the focus right now. The focus, the Need is simply to be By Josh.
And you don't get that kind of devotion from Diggs by playing around with his emotions, his wants, his needs. You don't get that kind of devotion by not being devoted yourself.
Josh Allen is 110% dedicated to loving his teammates, to loving football, and to loving Stefon Diggs.
Thinking about how much Diggs needs that .

Ok, finally watched Deadpool and Wolverine. Thoughts:
spoilers ahead
Things I liked:
-Cavillrine. Wade should've name dropped "those shitfucks down the street" as warner bros execs specifically but I know it wasn't viable. Henry you're my true superman (and Geralt) forever.
-Hugh Jackman, obviously. He always puts his everything into this character and it's beautiful.
-Backstreet boys' Bye bye bye in the beginning (cheeky nod to Wade swinging both ways? Or all the ways actually)
-Soundtrack in general. I have the impression that they tried to use songs that were popular at the time the fox films they referenced were released and that was sweet. Pure nostalgia.
-Is it just me or the fights between Logan and Wade felt a lot bit homoerotic at times? Especially the car fight. Not just the coreography but like.. the camera slowly panning away while showing the car shaking up and down as the daylight fades? Like, damn. okay. I see what you did there..
That and the other little moments where they weren't fighting but were in close proximity/contact with each other bc reasons. Good job u guys. 10/10 👍🏼
-X23. I'd really like to see her back as the main timeline x23 but i don't trust Disney to not fuck this up.
-All the cameos really. Channing Tatum was avenged too by finally being able to play gambit which is good tho I wish he had the black and red eyes from the cartoons that would've been cool. But yeah he was really funny. (My fancast for main timeline Gambit is still Josh Hartnett tho, that being said Channing was still a good Remy)
-Cassandra was a nice surprise, I didn't know that character or the actress and she made a surprisingly fun creepy villain.
Things I didn't like or threw me off bc im too much of a nerd to not notice:
-Vanessa being fridged without actually being fridged. She was in this movie even less than in the movie where she got killed?Someone really "didn't want to share the spotlight" this time lol
-No but seriously, the reason they broke up wasn't clear/didn't make much sense to me, although I have to praise the acting. I think they just wanted an excuse to make Wade spiral again but they don't know what to do with a no-powers character in a superhero movie unless they're a male comic relief?
-The staples on the head gag. It was funny at first but. regenerative powers. His body should have pushed them out at most a couple seconds after, like it does with bullets. They could still have made a joke out of it.
-And I actually only realized this after watching the film but shouldn't Wolverine also not be able to get drunk bc of his powers? In Deadpool's game Wade can't get drunk bc of exactly bc of that and in Catfa Steve can't get drunk while mourning Bucky for the same reason. And I'm pretty sure his regenerative powers are pretty mild compared to Logan and Wade's.
-They missed a chance to throw in a zip it Mr Darcy. or Tom. Both would've worked. Personally I'm partial to Mr Darcy cause I'm a 2005 p&p stan and I haven't watched Succession yet but yk either would've been good.
-A lil peck between Yukio and Negasonic would've been nice 🥺
-Things I wished would've happened even though most of it can't bc Disney, but a girl can still daydream dammit:
-Gwenpool
-T-rex-pool
-Mention of Logan being poly with Jean and Scott (it's my hc regardless)
-Pyro having had a enemies to enemies who fuck thing with Iceman at an earlier point in time (also my hc regardless)
-Mention of how ooc and creepy and completely nonsensical cap's "ending" was.
-Mention of Stucky
-The tva actually being evil
-Domino. I miss her. Actually all the X-Force members that were missing except for the vanisher for obvious reasons. Fuck that guy. My hc is that Wade saved all of them anyway. Except for, again, the vanisher.
-The timelines get fixed to keep existing when their franchises die. They keep on going we just don't see them anymore. I think implying that they die when hollywood doesn't make movies about them/they are not canon anymore is dismissive of fanworks. The multiverse should be infinite and all the stories imagined about a character whether it's "canon" or not exist somewhere no matter how terrible or ridiculous or wonderful it is. We just so happen to get to see only a handful of them in live action.
-Karl Urban as an alternate Wolverine (he's my fancast for the main timeline logan).
-The fact that if Ben Affleck got a subtle jab, Brad Pitt should've gotten 2. Non subtle ones. At all. Idk about you but I think physical abuse is a liiil worse than cheating. Just saying.
-Vanessa having powers. Hear me out: I know that her powers in the comics are basically the same as Mystique's (she's even blue too) BUT they could've made her be like that chick from Heroes that could do anything she saw other people do just by watching them. I would've been different enough from Mystique AND it would've still made sense with her superhero name being Copycat.
-Vanessa and Wade being polyamorous too
Conclusion: I think I might prefer deadpool 2 a juust a tad bit but I still really liked this one :) . It's definitely much better than anything mcu has being releasing lately
Ps: Johnny sweetie ilysm but you're a fucking idiot
Ps²: Wade sweetie ilysm but you absolutely were responsible for it, you didn't have to quote him on that.
Ps³: RIP nicepool I'm sure you were good papa to dogpool no matter how jealous prime deadpool was. Also I loved The Proposal.
