Here's the very first MeTV Toons schedule for Tuesday, June 25 to Sunday, June 30. With the network being co-owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, I felt covering the network was within my remit.

And what an interesting first week it is. 4th place is a tie between Rocky and Bullwinkle, Underdog (which both make sense)... and Police Academy: The Animated Series? I legitimately had never heard of the show before seeing it on the MeTV Toons teaser website.

There is obviously a vast amount of shows on here, timespans ranging from Popeye to Duck Dodgers. Some truly iconic IPs, some super deep cuts (Marine Boy, The Mask, Ed Grimley, Mister T, the ALF cartoons, The Greatest Adventure, and the Gerry Anderson stuff that isn't Thunderbirds), and, again, too much Police Academy. But I mean when the most aired show takes up only 30 half hour slots and is freaking Looney Tunes, which has 1000 shorts (maybe 75%-80% of them airable)... great job.

Note how I had to alter how my sidebar appears. I just wanted to have slightly more room just in case Weigel adds more to the lineup. Hope they don't go too crazy... if they add more than 5 shows to the lineup at a time, I'm screwed.

I'm not entirely sure if I'll keep posting these weekly. Might be easy to at least, Weigel schedules stay consistent and I already got through the hard part by color-coding everything.

Well 1, love your work! This AU is so cute and full of potential trauma it makes my mind flow with ideas... one of them being REALLY trauma heavy that has me in a vice grip rn...

So anyways- your post where you showed how in your AU catnap removed dogdays legs... were the murders of the hour in the same way? Because I just- Imagining Catnap dropping an anvil on some poor soul and them getting crushed slowly after the initial impact while catnap watches in apathy- has not left my mind. It's just Saw death traps at that point.

And about the whole "Going back to the cartoon" thing catnap wanted... would that not be suicide? A fully fledged, free thinking being going back to being with a world bound by a script and it's existence only continues if it's makers wish for it seem like killing yourself with extra steps. Again- this Au has so much Trauma potential I just HMMMMMMMMMMM-

And Oc's... well who do you want to hear about? I got a few lying around... well only 2 poppy playtime ones at the moment (and like one is kinda hard coded for another AU)... not to mention all the ones I have not drawn up yet that lie within my mind.

You have no idea how much I've had to edit the scripts and drawings I make for the blog, because I go too dark too quickly for this toon AU.

I'm gonna go on a long ramble. Bear with me.

Like - there's this one script I still need to rewrite. But the premise is that Angel and DogDay are in Home Sweet Home, striking up a conversation - though Angel is injured.

Angel: ...Do you ever just... Stop? *[Angel eyes DD, as DD is in the process of sniffing like an actual dog, walking along the walls]* DD: What do you mean? *[He pauses to look at them, his tail wagging]* Angel: This. *[They gesture to his whole self, which causes him to finally fall on to the ground with a yip]* Angel: We're being hunted by a monster, close to death, and you're acting all... *Looney*. DD: That's what I do, Angel. I was brought here to make people feel happy. Safe. *[His tail begins to wag again as he makes his way to Angel]* Angel: Great. *[Unamused]* At least we'll die laughing. DD: You know, laughter is stronger than you'd think. *[A little "Uh-huh" from Angel.]* No matter how bad things get, you just have to laugh! Even if you feel like you've lost all hope, unsure about tomorrow... Not knowing what you did wrong, wondering how the world collapsed around you... *[DD grabs on to an ear, his smile turning more upsetting. The background getting darker. Maybe emphasize some of the in game model]* DD: Knowing that deep down, it's your fault for their deaths and already missing your chains because you deserve them --- *[He immediately switches back, sunshine and smiles]* DD: A laugh can chase away the gloom! Angel: *[Disturbed]* ...You want to talk about it, Pup?

So, they're all thoroughly traumatized, that's for sure!

I plan on drawing a comic that takes place during the Hour Of Joy, but yes. CatNap has killed some humans with falling anvils, endless pits, trapping them in repeating hallways until they go insane. Humans cannot survive the same punishment a toon takes, you know. >u>

But you know, he's not entirely heartless. Just angy. A poor lil meow meow

Oh, it's just CatNap being unable to cope, being ripped out of his comfort zone and never being able to adjust with the horrible things going on in Playcare. Though the Critters in this AU are not the same as the In-Game Bigger Bodies, there's still been human experiments. CatNap would much rather take scripts and limited freedom over what he was given... You are right though. That is one of the themes I wanted to try and hit with him. Especially if I follow through with an ending of Angel adopting the Critters. Then the aftermath of the trauma can really sink in.

what's your favorite rolf line, and favorite kevin line?

I mentioned some lines in the past and I guess the favorites always change around, so here's a few favorites I can think of at the moment (it's hard with Rolf especially cause everything he says is gold)

For Kevin one line that sticks out is "this show needs subtitles". I love the idea of Kevin's own brand of fourth-wall break naturally being sarcastic and unfazed (it also makes me wonder which other characters apart from the Eds directly broke the fourth wall, can't remember now. Was there anyone apart from Kevin? Not surprised he's the one to do it tho haha), would have loved to see more Kevin glancing at the "camera" with a puzzled/annoyed look 🤨

Another one (not necessarily the line but the delivery) is when Eddy accidentally swallows him whole and he just says "no really, I'm pouding ya, dork", like he's not even horrified or disgusted, just absolutely done with Eddy's shit 😂 (btw when he drops the piano on Eddy as revenge that's such a Looney Toons rivalry gag between the two of them, Bugs-Daffy coded)

Also with Rolf in Boom Boom Out Goes the Ed, "this pageant thing's got you tied in a knot." Don't know why I like it, the deadpan delivery just rings out so well, it makes me imagine older Kev getting very good at those off-handed remarks, hopefully he loses his more unfunny jokes and develops his dry sense of humor (also that particular exchange makes me imagine KevRolf daily life, like the bit where Edd's in the sewer and you can hear them bickering about the generator, but nevermind this is another topic)

A Rolf favorite lately is when he's sharpening Victor's horns and he's all joyful and gleaming, "Rolf's eyes sting with your beauty!" lmao calm down Rolf it's just a goat's horns. Or the scene in Wish You Were Ed where he speaks in his language, I love how it sounds even if it's silly gibberish. Not to mention all of the silly noises he makes, especially the one where he's just humming/mumbling to himself, he really sounds like a furby 🤣

Then there's the bit from Dueling Eds when he's donning his sea-cucumber suit. "The fittings were excruciating... but that's another story." Also from Truth or Ed, talking of Eddy's shouting, "His shrieks rip through Rolf like Nana's cabbage stew!" How does a cabbage stew rip through you? What does it mean? Sounds uncomfortable. I assume he's talking about a terrible gas attack lol.

Finally I always love the gem, "Shall Rolf rub Kevin's belly with the oil of fermented figs?" I love that he just takes Kevin's words literally and thinks he's got a belly ache or something so he offers some... help lol. It's kinda cute apart from being funny (recently I thought about how the storyboards were run through scene-by-scene in front of the whole studio crew when they were working on an episode, commentary and criticism encouraged... I can only imagine the reaction to that joke haha).

SEPTEMBER 7TH

I don't recall anything too important happening today. I fixed an assignment for a class that my teacher had trouble downloading.

When it came to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, I spent some time in Ramanas Park to earn more slates. (And to train a certain Pokémon.) While traveling, I found this cave rested far from the other dungeons. My curiosity persuaded me into the cavern, where I found myself in the Distortion World.

After I inserted the Distortion Plate, I was greeted with the Glistening Platinum experience.

Thanks to Shining Star, beating Giratina was a breeze.

Now I have a second Griseous Orb that I'll probably never use.

After all of that, I went back to training Squealer. By doing so, I was able to get some new statues for my Secret Base and evolve him into a Grumpig.

If only that statue were as beautiful as this one:

Then again, nothing can be that perfect.

SEPTEMBER 8TH

Work was practically non-existent today because of how polluted it was. Most of the day was spent playing Pokémon Violet. I focused on training Grand Orchid to evolve into Dolliv.

Besides Pokémon, I also watched the first episode of Tiny Toons Looniversity. I was reluctant to watch this show as I feared it would be just as bad as the Animaniacs reboot. Even with my doubts, I was still a little hopeful for this show as I remember having more experience with Tiny Toons through the HUB Network. It also helped that the franchise had heavy ties to a valuable property like Looney Tunes, and the video games released up to 1995 were of incredible quality.

When I DID watch Tiny Toons Looniversity, I may have ACTUALLY enjoyed it. I was a bit skeptical while watching the episode. But some of the jokes got to me, and there wasn't anything I would call bad or horrendous. I'd say Tiny Toons Looniversity is an enjoyable cartoon for what it is. I'll have to see future episodes to decide whether or not I can stand by that statement, though.

SEPTEMBER 9TH

After a week of TERRIBLE air quality levels, things finally went back to normal. So normal, that I was able to improve my artistic abilities.

I was able to come up with ideas for future art pieces, and I'm close to completing an important one that's due next month. I'd like to draw more traditional art pieces. But I'll have to wait until the air quality becomes permanently safe again to do so.

After I ate dinner, I went back to Pokémon Violet Version to train Grand Orchid. I needed to fight Oricorio to increase his Special Attack. Despite the type disadvantage, I was able to beat them with his new Weather Ball attack and Kyogre's Drizzle ability.

The latter of which proved to be incredibly helpful. I also found a Mystery Gift code that gave me a Cetitan. A Cetitan that apparently came from the "Pokémon animated show".

I don't think this species appeared in the anime yet. (Then again, it could refer to ANY animated piece of Pokémon media.)

And I've been getting so heavily into watching A. Computer reviews and assembly, and B. Pokemon cards, which is incredibly stupid because I'm not looking to build a computer any time soon (although I would like to) and I've never bought a Pokemon pack in my goddamn life and don't even LIKE the games, but there's something about both of them that have grabbed me by the throat Looney Toons style in terms of what I'm vaguely interested in rn. Computers are fucking weird man, and there's so much that goes into building them that's so interesting, and as someone who has only really done software engineering, it's cool to see the flip side.

So Husk has always been a bit of a dog coded freak but now it's even worse and they're doing dog things subconsciously after becoming a werewolf XD they've probably started chewing on bones when they're bored and making high pitched whining noises when they're put in a Situation or dilemma they don't like XD as for favourite activity, I think it's picking up new scents on things and tracking (their ass is Not beating the little freak allegations ;u; )

I would draw this if I didn't both desperately need to finish something and if two... I felt I could even draw Rodger in a way that he would still be recognizable? Haha ( Much respect to the looney tunes style, it is one I do not know lol )

But Joli works with toons quite often! And she does like to take her full toon form when around them. I feel it's natural to want to take the shape of whatever crowd you're in, a strange sort of code switching for her, lol. Even if in her story all toons are colorless ink creatures.

Roger has such a sweet personality though, I'm certain he'd make her feel comfortable no matter what form she's in, honestly!
