Were there any fairytales you liked as a kid? What were they about? Can you retell it from memory?

My mum always told us stories of Ho-oh and Lugia!

Basically, it's said that long ago, Lugia was in charge of overseeing the weather, keeping Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres in check!

But one day, Lugia was careless with it's power, and it powerful wings forged a vicious storm, that ravaged the Johto region. It is said that this storm is the reason the bell tower burnt down.

After witnessing the destruction it caused, Lugia banished itself to the bottom of the ocean, only returning should the legendary birds grow out of check...

anyways heres my tier list of all the movies i've watched thus far (i watched black and white first for nostalgia and went completely off the deep end btw, thats why those movies are here)

(list under the cut, there will be spoilers for movies 1, 2000, 3, 4ever, white, genesect and sword of justice)

1. The First Movie / Mewtwo Strikes Back . it made me very sad it was so much more upsetting than i remembered . also Mew was there and thats one of my favs soooooo

2. 4Ever / Celebi: A Timeless Encounter . Literally the cutest yet most gut wrenching shit ive seen ao far in a POKEMON MOVIE. Sam is one of my favs hes so sweet <3 bonus points for Suicune btw !! Suicune was always a fav when i was younger and now i know why

3. White - Victini and Zekrom . get cold loser THEY FR GOT ME I THOUGHT VICTINI LEGIT DIED but it didnt it was all fine. I felt so bad for Ash that must have been fucking terrifying dude☹️ but its ok they all got macroons at the end

4. Genesect and the Legend Awakened . the runt genesect was so cute i loved it Also congrats to Mewtwo for its transfem transition im so proud of it🥳

5. Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice . Virizion stays winning🗣️🗣️🗣️ also kyurem chasing keldeo around made me giggle a bit im so sorry

6. 2000 . The fourth wall break at the end killed me . Team Rocket coming to help Ash was so sweet <33 i have to admit i might have to rewatch this cus i was like half asleep when i did but Lugia is one of me and my brothers favs so WOOHO . Lugia's one of the chillest mfs out here next to Suicune love that for it

7. Pokémon 3 . What was even happening in this movie😭. Anyway, was NOT expecting childhood trauma/grief to be handled in a POK��MON MOVIE but they did do a fair job at it in my opinion. The entire movie was legit insane and let me tell ya i was NOT expecting deliah to get FUCKING KIDNAPPED?? BY ENTEI???? but you only live once ig so good on her (spoiler alert i do not like deliah very much...!!! )

Tournament Report, 2 League Cups and 2 League Challenges (It's been a minute)

Hey y'all, it's been a minute so I felt it's time to make another tournament report. I've been in a bit of a depression lately and lost motivation to do pretty much anything, so sorry for the long hiatus. In the month or so I haven't posted, I went to two league cups and two league challenges, and I managed to earn championship points in three out of the four tournaments I went to. Here's how they went.

League Cup #1, September 16th, 2023, 8/24 +25 Champ Points

For this cup I played Miraidon ex with Path to the Peak, which was a break from the norm of me playing Lost Box in these types of tournaments. Honestly, I wanted to play Lost Box before tournament, but I just decided on a whim to play this instead. There is no other reason why. With that out of the way, lets get into my matchups.

Round 1: Single Strike Lugia w/ Dunsparce. WW, 1-0

At first glance Single Strike Lugia seems like an auto-win, but good players will always find a way out of that loss. Fortunately for me this round, my opponent just couldn't get set up at all in both of our games, so I took an easy 2-0 victory. Dunsparce was a little scary to see, though.

Round 2: Single Strike Lugia LL 1-1

Round 2, I hit another Single Strike Lugia player, but this time they were able to set up and were also able to minimize the amount of Lugia in play, so I was always taking a bad matchup against either Stonjourner or Tyranitar V. I don't have Zapdos in my list, so my Miraidon could never take a ko onto a Tyranitar, which is a huge boon to my opponent. Game one ended up being really close, but game 2 was a bit of a loss.

Round 3: Miraidon w/ Path mirror, LWL 1-2

In my opinion, the mirror is very unfun to play sometimes, especially if you lose the coin flip and go second. Whoever goes first has the opportunity to straight up win on turn one if they start Miraidon and get Path down on the first turn. There's not much the player going second can do in that situation other than to hope they have a Research in their hand. Unfortunately for me, I lost the coin flip and went second. Not much I can do. At some point I hit 0 Lightning Energy off of 2 Electric Generator and couldn't attack in game 3. Very unlucky game, but I still had a chance to make it into top 8 if I won out.

Round 4: Gardevoir, WW 2-2

In this round I ended up playing against the one Senior division player in the room. TPCI tournaments uses age divisions to try to prevent children from playing with adults, with the youngest division being Juniors (think elementary school), then it's Seniors (think middle school), the it's Masters (think high school and beyond). Since there was only one Seniors division player, they had to play against either the best performing Juniors division player, or the worst performing Masters division player (me in this instance). In our game this round, I ended up winning 2-0, not much else to say other than my opponent wasn't the best. We take those though.

Round 5: Chien Pao Baxcallibur, WLW 3-2

This matchup is heavily favorable for me, so I was very happy that I hit it. My opponent, however, was very disappointed since this was both of our win-and-in round. I did make it a little too close by miss playing quite a bit. During games one and two, I would use Miraidon's Tandem Unit ability to put two Mareep into play, then they would immediately be ko'd by Radiant Greninja. I adjusted in game three by only putting one into play, and I ended up winning pretty convincingly afterword. I was a little nervous of bubbling out at 9th, but I ended up being the 8th seed, guaranteeing my top cup berth and some championship points!

Top 8, Single Strike Lugia (round 2 opponent) LL

I hit the same opponent as round 2 in top 8, and unfortunately my games went a similar way. Game 1 was super close, but I just couldn't close it out. Then, in game 2, I started a Raichu V and Squawkabilly. I used Squawk and Seize, and drew zero playable cards on my first turn, and then another on my second. Unfortunate way to go, but that's the game sometimes. I was just happy to make it to top eight and earn some championship points.

Overall, I had a blast! It felt great being able to do so well with a deck I hadn't had much practice with, so I'd say this tournament was a huge success. In my next post, I'll write about my second league cup I played in this past month, so stay tuned!

In honor of Pokemon Day, I'm just gonna answer some questions and talk about my own Pokemon journey and all that fun stuff 😀

First Pokemon Game?

--Pokemon Pearl!! My parents bought it for me for Christmas in 2007. They also got me a pink Nintendo DS Lite as well 🥰 I still have it. In 2009, my parents bought me Pokemon Platinum for my birthday. I remember that day well. They took me to Cheddars to eat, then when we got home my Mom gave me the game 🥰

First Starter Pokemon?

-CHIMCHAR!!! I named him Fireball 🔥! I know...10 year old me was so original lmaooo. He's now sitting in my game all alone 😪 Also...Fireball had pokerus??? He spread it to my whole team so that was pretty cool.

-Favorite Starter Pokemon?

-....fuck that's a hard one. I'm going to say Snivy because she carried me throughout Pokemon Black and White.

-List all the starter Pokemon you've had.

--Favorite Pokemon Companion/Friend?

I loved Shauna! She was a lot of fun! Brendan was cool too...and I left my heart on Iron Island with Riley 🥰

-Favorite Pokemon Rival?

--Barry 🥰

Silver and Gary were also fantastic rivals and they always gave me a good challenge. Hop is also my favorite and I actually felt bad for beating him 😅

--Favorite Pokemon Champion?

-The only one that have really made a impression on me was Cynthia. I don't know the name of the other Champions lmaooo.

--Favorite Antagonists?

-Team Galactic. Always and Forever. I miss their ugly ass bowl cuts 🥰

-Favorite Eveelution?

-Vaporeon! I got a Evee in Pokemon Pearl and named her Cerulean 🥰 she was super strong. Second favorite is Sylveon. My Sylveon was super OP in Pokemon X.

-Favorite Pokemon Game?

-Pokemon X. It was the first game where I could design my character and choose to be black. Not only that, I just loved that I had SO MANY childhood friends and that they could have a nickname for me. I spent a good chunk of my money on clothes, and then I couldn't buy potions for Gym Challenges. At least I looked stylish 😎 Plus, I loved Mega Evolutions and the story of Pokemon XY in general. (I'm still pissed we didn't get Pokemon Z)

--A Pokemon Game I could appreciate more?

- Definitely Pokemon Black and White. I wish I had played Pokemon BW 2, but at the time it was announced I was particularly interested in it. Not only that...I was struggling in school and I knew my parents weren't going to buy it for me so I never asked...now that I'm a adult I guess I can play it xD

--Least Favorite Pokemon Game?

-Pokemon Sun and Moon. I don't even want to get into it 😕

--Pokemon Game I wished I finished

- Pokemon Yellow is sitting in my Nintendo 3DS...I don't think I've booted it up since high school or my first year of college 😅 I hacked the game to get Mew, so that was cool!

--Pokemon game you're currently playing?

-Pokemon Sword and Shield! I just got to the top of Rose Tower to see what Leonand Chairman Roseare up to 👀! I'll buy the DLC in a couple of months. I seriously love this game. It's so much fun. Some of the newer mechanics did irritate me at first, but I looked past and as a whole it's a good game.

And whenever I think about it...I play Pokemon Soul Silver too. Same with Pokemon: Let's Go Evee!

--Favorite Pokemon Movie?

-Pokemon Movie 2000!!! The Celebi movie was fantastic too! Actually all the Kanto/Johto/Hoenn movies were good.

--Favorite Pokeani Season?

-Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. I loved getting up early before school and watching a few episodes.
