Los primeros pasos: Calculadoras mecánicas: La historia de las computadoras se remonta a cientos de años atrás, cuando los seres humanos inventaron las primeras herramientas para realizar cálculos. Las calculadoras mecánicas, como el ábaco en China y el astrolabio en el mundo islámico, fueron los precursores de las máquinas de cómputo modernas. Sin embargo, fue en el siglo XIX cuando se produjo un avance significativo con la invención de la máquina de calcular mecánica de Charles Babbage.

Our recycling drive was a resounding success, thanks to all who brought in items for #reuse and #recycling. A lot of great items came through our doors last week, especially these two behemoth #IBM PC Series #desktop computers. The older of the two, the IBM Personal Computer 350-P75, was introduced in 1994 and as its name suggests it is powered by a 75MHz #Pentium P54C, has 48MB RAM, and a 540 MB HDD. The 300XL was an upgraded version released a few years later in 1997 and it is powered by a Pentium II (MMX) clocked at 233 or 266 MHz with 64MB RAM and a 4.2GB HDD. What we are most impressed with is the fact one of our customers went though the pain of bringing these in so they can be recycled properly - these things are heavy!
