Parting Waves

Chapter 10 is up! It is the longest one yet at almost 9,500 words, so I hope it's worth the wait lol. Here is a small part from the chapter titled, Disaster!

Tommy heard Evan's voice over the radio.

“We have a female victim, 30s, who has severe smoke inhalation and probably second-degree burns. She says her 4-year-old daughter is trapped in an office on the b-side of the 14th floor. Please advise Search and Rescue that it is office 14-31.”

There was a pause as more orders were relayed to the correct search and rescue teams. 

“This is Velazquez from the 133 search and rescue team. We have reached the hallway where the office is located but the fire is too big for us to get in for extraction without getting a line on it first. Which means it’ll be another 15 minutes before we can get to the kid.”

“Buckley to IC, I can use the winch and be down to the exterior window of the office in less than 5.”

“Buckley, this is Deputy Chief Robertson, do you have rope clearance down to the floor.”

“Right now yes. If the fire breaches the offices on that floor, it’ll cause issues. If I’m gonna go, it needs to be now.”

“Do it.”

Tommy knew Evan was capable of doing his job, but this was the first time he had to watch and hear him in a particularly dangerous situation. They were grounded until he completed the rescue since they didn’t want to disrupt his descent with the wind created by the helicopter blades. So all he could do was wait and hope that Evan was able to execute the rescue quickly and safely.

If you really wanna go all in, Angel can't have sex with Buffy because he's in love with her and that'll give him his one moment of bliss again. But he's not in love in Faith, he can have sex with Faith without losing his soul and Buffy can even be there and everyone involved hates this solution to varying degrees but because of that it is a solution. And it's only fair if one of them is having sex with Faith that the other does as well, then it's like they're having sex by proxy but once again without the possibility of him losing his soul. And for Faith this is terrible great because there's so much distance between her and Buffy legitimately hooking up there's so little chance of it becoming real and her messing it up like she does everything else in her life.

This is honestly the outline I have had in my head and you and I are totally on the same track. He's not in love with Faith. And then it's only fair!!

Now reading your description I am pretty sure your version is about "trying to be good and faithful Angel" but I see 2 versions.

It works both ways, he can be Sadboy Angel (credit to this post for that name) who wants to be intimate with Buffy and this is the only way it works without him losing his soul. OR it can be lusty Angelus who for some reason can't really harm Buffy (*hand waving, hand waving*) but he's happy to get some nookie on the side and look who just happens to be there? A very different vibe to both but the end result would be the same.

In my HC this would feel slightly familiar to Faith, going along with something bc it feels good or good-ish AND she gets something else she wants. (past trauma ahem.) and hey let's admit it Darla-trained Angel would be a decent lay.

Faith would pretty much do anything to watch Buffy get fucked, but that goes double for getting to do the Buffy fucking herself. So Faith planting her face between Buffy's legs and hearing her cum while Angel is railing Faith from behind? Pretty much heaven.

And Faith can't really imagine what it would be like if it really was just her and Buffy, with Angel not there and no pretense of them fucking ONLY bc of the soul-curse-situation.

Bc Buffy would never want her by herself right? bc she doesn't deserve that and Buffy doesn't love her - Buffy loves Angel. But sometimes Buffy looks at her while they are all fucking and Faith has to close her eyes bc it feels like Buffy loves her. And she can't believe she's worthy of that.

And important to note here that for Faith - Buffy isn't the icing on the cake. She's the cake. Angel fucking her good is the icing, and she is really only going along with the icing bc the cake wants the icing to be there.

To keep it canon compliant we have to stick with version 1 with Sadboy Angel (no lusty Angelus). Faith still DOES try to seduce Angel on her own - 40% bc her dad pimps her out and it's not the first time The Mayor suggests it, 40% bc she wants to hurt Buffy, and 20% bc she wants reassurance that her sexually aggressive entrapment skills still work. bc what is she if she can't seduce a man to get what she wants?

It doesn't work, which frustrates Faith to no end.

Oh bonus! it's always bothered me how good Buffy is at lying in the lead up to the "Psyche!" bc she canonically is not a good liar. Maybe the toxic threesome fun includes some roleplay and that's part of why Buffy is able to convincingly lie in that episode (ep: 3x17 enemies).

There's so many good ways to work "bondage looks good on you B" as a comment referring to a past conversation, but in this specific HC it is that Buffy did want to try getting tied up, but the three of them hadn't gotten around to it yet. So when Faith mentions it - she is actually thinking of their past threesome conversation about it.

So you see the plot hole filler we needed all along was letting Buffy fuck in S3.

(personally i HC Faith as bi, but this prob still works and is more angsty with a comphet Faith reading. i vibe with pretty much all reads of Faith btw.)

I'm sure I'll have more thoughts on this later but that's it for now.

Loki was invisible as he stood at a distance. He was also just as annoyed. Though it was due to the fact this man fancies himself as a ‘God’. For a True God like Loki, it was an insult not just to him, but to basically every god pantheon he was well aware of. The world he and Lloyd ended up thrown into was his old home world before he left it.

Loki left Earth after the events of Ragnarok wiped out the Gods and most of the human population. The elves used to live on Earth too, but he took all of them with him to find a new home. Now that he found himself back here, he noticed a lot had changed and then the rules of the afterlife had drastically changed.
