So I’m going to call my isat modern mess-up au “Strange Times Think Alike” and I’m currently working out major plot lines, but it’s distracting when I keep getting caught up in the little scenes and scenarios that are possible. Imagining how they get sent to a place just outside of a small city, how each character panics in their own way at all the new weird shades that are too vibrant, too disorienting, too much. Wondering how they’d communicate with the citizens, would there be a language barrier? What culture shocks would they feel at craft not working? What about when things start messing up and it suddenly does work?

hey han thank u so much for asking OKAY so its a rework of an old idea based on ironic by alanis morrissette specifically "meeting the man of your dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife." its an au where eddie joins the 118 wayyyy later like after bucktommy break up and hes Out and very gay and also best friends with lena bosko, lesbian bc they worked together before she was promoted and he was transferred. so, eddie joins the 118.

buckandeddie immediately hit it off ofc and have insane chemistry. eddie does not hide that he is gay and everyone else knows but somehow buck misses this fact. so its been a few days maybe one shift cause theyre insane and buck is thinking about asking eddie out when he sees a picture of eddie and lena or smth and eddie makes a tongue in cheek joke about her being his wife, thinking it's obvious that they are both GAY. this goes totally over bucks head and he takes it seriously and he thinks they r actually married. cue angst and pining and misunderstandings and eddie flirting HARD and buck thinking: why is he flirting with me he has a WIFE why am i into him hes STRAIGHT but oh god hes FLIRTING with me i SWEAR and hes SO HOT!!!!!!!

so then buck goes to a gay bar to drink his sorrows away and try to move on but then he sees lena kissing a girl GASP and he goes to eddies house at midnight to tell him his wife is cheating on him. the conversation goes something like this

buck: i saw lena at a gay bar

eddie: and?

buck: she was kissing a WOMAN

eddie: shaved head and a bunch of tattoos?

buck: .......yes

eddie: fucking FINALLY

buck: (extreme confusion) so are you guys like....poly? or......

eddie: dying of laughter.

Obsessed with the idea of working class pokemon world stuff, like, not everyone can afford to go on some grand adventure as a trainer and stuff so obviously some people have their partner pokemon and just do day to day life stuff like,

“Sorry i was late to work, some kids were having a battle in the middle of the road”

“Yeah I got today off work cause the charmeleon that works at the stove was sick”

And also pokemon partners in buisnesses, like- fire types helping work at resturants, ice types at ice cream shops, water types in the fire department

Rewatching the first few episodes of fhjy because i guess i have nothing better to do and the way you can see how kibblespilly was supposed to be a counter to riz is so fucking funny. Its all there from the very beginning- the attitude, the tactics, the way she interacts with the party and everything- this is supposed to be riz's counterpart to run against him for student body president and have a terrible battle of wits and barbs

But in a twist that is perhaps THE most befitting to her ideal story of running against the boy she chose to be her antagonist, the intrepid heroes just straight up not taking the bait resulting in her instead having to go toe to toe against her idealized perfect rival's aggressive near-flunkie unsubtle chaotic friend is SO FUNNY.

Like I know some people are disappointed we dont get the riz vs kipperlily presidential whatever, I know it doesnt make tons of sense in that specific narrative way. But the fucking hilarious meta that even this didnt go her way is so funny. Because instead of rogue sneaking and behind the shadows plays and spy vs spy shit, we have just outward schoolyard taunts and shit like kristen exploding and jumping over the school and the exact kind of play that baits kipperlily into rage every single time and its so fucking funny. Kristen runs naked through the school and does party stunts and is STILL BEATING HER. She even clearly constructed her party to mirror the bad kids perfectly and craft each of them their own nemesis/counterpart and for the most part it like kind of worked EXCEPT FOR HER.

It must drive her fucking crazy that her cute little plot of rogue vs rogue didnt pan out at fucking all despite ALL the signs pointing to that making the most sense. This was something she just couldnt predict, couldnt mastermind. She got up onto that metaphorical stage for a debate and instead was met with a clowning act. Its so funny. I love fantasy high. Nothing you could have done would have changed this, fourdogs. You never had any power at all.
