Ren: Yeah it's what every alien species in the galaxy does.

Jaune: Yeah, basically every species has what they call a 'reproductive cycle.' But, us humans... do, and don't have a reproductive cycle.

Ren: You don't?

Jaune: How do I explain this... Okay... Does your species has a cycle in your bodily development called puberty?

Ren: Yes, it's when our species changes from children to teenagers, and eventually to adults. It starts typically when we reach our species our twenties.

Jaune: Yeah well, humans enter puppetry in our teens, typically it starts around thirteen, and ended in our late teens, which would be around nineteen.

Ren: Okay... so?

Jaune: So... Humans are fertile by the time we enter puberty.

Ren: What...?

Jaune: And, while human females do have a monthly cycle where their bodies are most fertile, this only last until the reach about seventy fives years of age.

Ren: S-S-Seventy five years...?

Jaune: And, human males are basically fertile until the day we die, we just lose our potency as we get older.

Ren: U-Until the day you die...?

Jaune: So... the reason why human males are so promiscuous is because we're always in season.

Ren: W-W-W-W-WHAT?!

Jaune: So, to explain things better, we humans aaaaaarrrrrrrrnnnnnnnd you fainted...

Jaune: I was going to say mingle, but that works too. But, you have to understand, while it is easier for the females of various other alien races to get... sexually aroused. It's neigh on impossible for the males of their species to becomes sexually aroused until they reach their representative reproductive cycles.

Jaune: Of course you wouldn't understand that... It's a feeling you get when your bodies hormones go into overdrive. You'll understand when you reach your 'Legacy Sowing.' It's a by product your species experiences when they enter it.

Ren: Okay...? So... the reason humans are so promiscuous is because of the fact your biology allows you to fulfill the sexual needs of different alien species females?

Jaune: That's pretty much it. Although these needs typically don't happen in species such as the Elvian for example until after they've passed through they've gone through their own 'Legacy Sowing.'

Ren: Which is how you got together with the Lady Duchess Kachina of the Isleen Currents...?

Jaune: Uhh... no that was mostly her way at getting at a guy name... What was it...? Ahh yes, the Lord Duke Agie of the Einri Crest.

Ren: So, the Lady Duchess Kachina slept with you... to get at the Lord Duke Agie? B-But he is the Lord of the Aglintinz Fleets?! She slept with you just to spite the man?

Jaune: Yeah, she didn't like all of the advances he was making at her he at this dinner gala. They were... pathetic to say the least. Mine on the other hand we... as Kachi described... 'Intoxicatingly invigorating~!'

Soft Reboot

I think I need a soft reboot on this blog. I haven't been feeling the drive to write here for a moment and I think it's partially tied to my ideas for what I want this blog to be changing. If anyone wants their muse's relationship with Eath, Hax, and Grimbright to remain please let me know, otherwise I'm retconing or altering the following:

Hax doesn't have Taygete anymore, the person I used to write with who muse was the other parent presently (as far as I'm aware) is no longer writing on tumblr and I simply don't have the muse for her / an unsure how to develop her further. I might bring her back later as more of a different character, but for now Taygete has been removed from the blog.

Hax has not entered their inner demon form, the scar on their face will be removed to reflect this and they did not gain back their tail. It's a plot point I'd like to redo eventually.

The above two in mind, Hax's mother and father never came to visit. They'd have no interest if there wasn't a grandchild that she could try to manipulate. This means, unfortunately, both Hax's parents are still alive.

Eath also did not enter her (half) inner demon form. Not much has come of that event to need this to have happened.

Eath & Hax's cabin is once again hidden. Unless they have explicitly in character taken a muse to the cabin, it's nearly unreachable.

Eath is going to go back to not knowing how her powers work / that her powers are related to Souls and not just the Dead and Dying.

Eath, Hax, and Grimbright are going to be using their human disguises more. They live in a world where daemon are seen as myth, where the history they learned growing up was that humans hunted them out of their own world into the mirror one. So showing themselves as daemons to other humans is a high risk that they're not willing to take unless they're in another muse's world / realm.

Things that I am keeping / adding / changing slightly:

Any of the Seasonal Balls, all those can be more or less canon to the blog

Hax did lose their arm, and it was Grim who did it. That was an important moment of character development, and was foreshadowed too much for me to retcon. Hax's bracelet didn't activate due to the inner demon though, instead it was a constant signal Hax had to find ways to disrupt that got too frequent & difficult to do- which is when Grim decided to intervene.

Grim was possessed, and did receive help from other muses (w/o Eath) to regain control and have their old master ousted... but it's more unclear if that malicious spirit is still around or not.

Duchess Agares did still try to kill Eath, but did reveal she was Eath's grandma afterwards. They very rarely talk however for Eath's safety.

Eath works at the Hilbrook Library now (volunteers, really), and Hax works at a local Cafe so they can have money for groceries and other things Eath's garden can't provide.

Grim still takes assassination contracts, but if asked what he does he'll claim he has a work from home office job. He also still does have the official protection contract with Vassago.

I've already stated this but daemon lifespans have been updated so that every 10 years = 1 year for a daemon. This will alter timelines for past events for the daemons (Hax's late wife, how long Eath's been in the human realm, etc)

Please give me some time to implement changes (I need to make new icons for the daemons to account for a few things / Using human forms more)

I'm also going to be adding / updating a Verse page so that there are actually more versions of the muses to interact with instead of just the one verse.

Okay okay let's try to map it all again

1) Placidusax was an Elden Lord, so his 'god' that was fled, was likely the same as Marika was a God. There is a very humanoid statue of a lady surrounded by triple wolf under depiction of primordial Elden Ring though

2) The lady has same Slavic aesthetic as Rauh people

3) Area where we find the Gelmir's Serpent-God's Curved Sword also has Rauh connections: Makar is a Slavic (Russian) name, Makar is literally fought in the area full of Rauh ruins and architecture, the unique bat lady wearing a kokoshnik (again, a Slavic headwear) is found in this area too

4) Magma Wyrms are people that do Dragon Communion, ie eating hearts of Drakes. There are four Magma Wyrms; one is Makar, another found in the mountains of Gelmir, another found underneath Gelmir mansion, the last one is a troll Theodorix. That makes 3 out of 4 Magma Wyrms be connected with Gelmir, Makar is a middle point

5) Dragon Communion is the practice taking roots from Farum Azula

6) Now-extinct Gelmir Cult has Temple of Eiglay with a Godskin Noble in it, and one of the man-serpent variants straight up copy GEQ's Godskins style

At the same time, Gelmir has depictions of a half-serpent half-bird

6) Birds, specifically hawks, are allies to Farum Azula, same as Stormveil

7) Eiglay and Winged Serpent appear to be related, as eyes of Winged Serpent and man-serpents are the same kind of green:

*According to the person that datamined textures ( x ), man-serpents do all have green eyes, but those except for Rya have the additional filter going over their eyes to make them darker

You can see with Melina's purple eye as an example that sometimes additional filters are used

8) Winged Serpent has dragon wings

9) Godskin Apostles turn their flame like a whirlwind, similarly to Banished Knights and all alike

10) Godskin Apostles and Nobles are both half-serpents; Apostles stretch and spin similarly to man-serpents and Nobles not only have a snake tail, but also they are not actually "just fat"! They are very long snakes that simply coil underneath rather than stretch in and out:

11) GEQ is consistently depicted as serpentine, and is the reason snake is seen as traitor of the Erdtree as it could not have been Messmer (snake traitor is addressed by Godfrey's Duelists, and Messmer with his knights were clearly on good terms with Godfrey)

12) Unlike in Dark Souls, in Elden Ring, snakes are not genetically connected with dragons

So how about this:

Placi's God was a Rauh royalty, who was fled to hide in Gelmir (escaped Bayle's wrath?) along with multiple other people, and discovered Eiglay in there! Perhaps, Eiglay ate her (which is why Placi's wait is futile), instilling fear into people that now bent their knee and formed the sacrificial cult around her. Fear can turn into reverence very easily and faith can be a fickle thing!

However, some cultural aspects as allyship with Stormveil and Dragon Communion remained in this new culture. Female monarch would be a kin to Eiglay, birthing serpentine people and, as ideal result, the Winged Serpent. It inherited wings as genetic trace of Dragon Communion. Gloam-Eyed Queen was the last kin to the Gods Devourer, though seems like not quite like Rykard as her depictions are obnoxiously humanoid and her Godskins are half-human. Maybe she had smaller Eiglays as part of her body, same as how Messmer got small Winged Serpents as part of his?

After being chosen as an Empyrean by the Two Fingers, she mirrors Marika, owning Scadutree that was planted together with the Erdtree, and "proper" Death Flame that is "gold accompanied by shadow". Upon creation of the Golden Order, Rune of Death, ie Shadow, was separated from the Elden Ring, severing GEQ from the equal position from Marika as Marika had no interest in letting Death have its natural power in her Order and intended to live forever. Expecting GEQ to do her own thing and be no longer of a threat backfired, so it took Maliketh to further severe GEQ from even her fragment of the Elden Ring, the Death Rune.

+ I suppose it makes my shitpost ship of GEQ and Stormlord unnecessary for the lore fhshdfs Thanks a lot, Makar...... Though, why not, if they both have descent of allies of Ancient Dragons?

MY shitty NOTICINGS ABOUT SPAMTON

Most of these are things that were noticed ages ago and all of this is just me rambling about shit that probably doesn't mean anything and I'm just delusional

Spamton - Kris

Spamton just like Kris is puppeteered by some higher being.

Both seek freedom.

Both seem to have issues with expressing their true feelings.

Both seem to somewhat stand out from the rest.

Spamton was hiding the fact that benefactor was behind his success just like Kris is hiding from their friends that they are working with the Knight.

Both seem to struggle with their looks (and their looks make them stand out from their kind - Spamton is small colourless Addison and Kris is human in a goat family).

They both struggle with finding their place to belong.

They're both very determined.

And while Spamton doesn't have a soul in Neo form one of his attacks is a heart on the chain - this parallels Kris having soul that is their chain at the same time.

Both are also little mischievous gremlins.

Spamton - Noelle

Was Spamton trying to lure Noelle with [fr33 fr13nd f1ndh3r] mails?

Or was he trying to help her find Dess?

Noelle seems to like Pipis or at least she seems to be a bit fond of them - is it because of that one Pipis Spamton gave her?

Spamton seems to maybe not exactly like Noelle but be a bit fond of her because he wouldn't give her Pipis especially not for free.

In Snowgrave route

Both have angel motifs.

Noelle seems to be parallel to Spamton during his fights with Tenna and also during his worst when he was more and more obsessive over the phone.

Spamton - Dess

Spamton repeats dialogue of missing person in the code who is more than likely Dess.

This dialogue though reflects Spamton's situation quite well. No one could hear Spamton's pleas for help and he couldn't escape drakness even after obtaining Neo.

What does it imply? Does Spamton know what happened to Dess? But is it because Spamton is (probably) puppeteered by Friend? Or did he saw too far, saw something that he shouldn't? Or maybe he can/could hear the person trapped in the code?

Also does it mean anything that during Tenna's crush out one of Spamton's theme plays during music stage part where normally Fun Gang performed Dess' song there earlier? it probably means nothing weird coincidence though

Spamton - Friend

Just like Friend's eyes are pink and yellow Spamton has pink and yellow glasses.

Spamton has permanent smile just like Friend.

Spamton is a puppet while Friend looks like a hand - Friend is more than likely the one who puppeteeres Spamton.

When Spamton looks directly at us in his shop his eyes resemble Friend's eyes.

Friend is implied to lure kids to the Shelter. Was he the one who lured Dess to Shelter? Did Dess actually go there hence why she's missing? If Friend was behind Dess' disappearance did Spamton see that? Or at least know something? Cause how else could he repeat missing person dialogue?

Some people claim that in forgotten Spamton battle theme (unused) they could hear friend in me which is interesting.

Could Friend be inside Spamton?

Spamton - Gaster

Garbage noise that was heard from the receiver from the phone that Spamton used to communicate with the sponsor (benefactor) is the same one that is heard when Kris tries to call someone in Dark World which is associated with Gaster - we could hear it in Undertale.

It implies that Spamton was in contact with Gaster - shelter also has the exact same sound bite like so called garbage noise which implies that Friend is also related to Gaster if Friend is the one who lure kids to the Shelter. My personal take on this is that Friend is Gaster's hand.

Gaster was most likely completely erased from the world he was living in and oddly enough Spamton was met with similar fate - everyone treat Spamton as if he never existed; all of them made sure to erase every little bit of Spamton's existence in Cyber World and even in TV World the only characters that mention anything about Spamton are Tenna (obviously) and Ramb (indirectly).

Could G in Spamton G Spamton possibly hint to Gaster? Probably not but we still don't know what this G stands for.

The flavor text during Spamton Neo boss battle He is his own worst invention. while not the same as what is told about Gaster "fell into his creation" and "his experiments went wrong" gives oddly similar vibes especially cause that flavor text from SNeo fight stands out from the rest like a sore thumb.

Other things

These things aren't something that I noticed by myself. Please read @/cat-mermaid posts cause there are many interesting Spamton mentions like:

Spamton unused battle attacks resemble some of Titan attacks.

In unused Spamton battle there appear hands - please read cat-mermaid post about hands in Deltarune.

Spamton unused battle has a disco ball hanging above and they seem to fight on stage as if it was associated with music - not exactly the same type of music Dess was into still odd coincidence.

Despite these things being unused it's odd that these things resemble some of other important stuff cause why Spamton??

The honorable mentions:

Spamton's Neo suit resembles Delta Rune.

The part of prophecy about hearing heaven's call - while many people think it's about thorn ring it reminded me of Spamton because he got phone calls from heaven. And Spamton is the only character that talks about Heaven a lot.

Spamton also talks a lot about Angel (he calls Noelle Angel) and seems to be aware of the player because he notices that Kris' soul seems like nothing he's seen before.

Spamton's little healers have angel features and SNeo seems to resemble angel who later becomes a fallen angel due to cut strings. As SNeo Spamton is quite powerful opponent with interesting abilities due to his awareness of being in the game (which again is interesting considering some similarities to Titan's attacks).

The part of prophecy about first hero - soul with human parts (this is something you can find in one of cat-mermaid posts as well) - Spamton is a puppet which resembles human just like any doll - Neo suit also resembles human body (sort of) and while Spamton didn't have soul he wanted to get it from Kris but then again oddly enough one of Neo Spamton's attacks is heart on a chain.

Also Spamton seems to be the only character that glitches - my personal take is that it's due to corruption of his data caused by benefactor either changing or deleting some of it or it's due to attempt at deletion of his data caused by Lightners deleting spam emails.

Also Spamton uses manholes to get around places - he seems to be the only character to do so? Does it mean anything? Can he do that because he's a spam email?

Most of this probably means nothing but it's weird how much of important stuff we see in Spamton. Does it mean Spamton might be important? Or maybe the mystery of what happened to him is important? If not than why Spamton?

LISTEN TO ME. the thing about castiel is that the show wants us to see him as "other," right? But the way the show intends for this to come across (and the way many interpret it) is very different from the evidence that is actually presented to us on screen. Castiel is introduced to us, intended to be a representative for angel kind as a whole, as an unfeeling machine of heaven, no positive OR negative emotions, and no will of his own. It is the fact that Castiel DOES feel, does doubt, and does develop a will of his own (to help the winchesters) that the show clearly intends to set Cas aside from every other angel.

BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT IS ACTUALLY DEPICTED ON SCREEN!!!

Every major angel character we see, specifically in the early seasons but really throughout the show, DOES show emotion, DOES have their own will, and makes really no effort to hide that.

You have Zachariah, who is petty, vengeful, holds grudges on his OWN behalf (not heavens!) and while he does serve heaven, he interprets orders in whatever way will serve him best.

Then there's Uriel, who obviously doesn't even serve heaven, has a sense of humor, and whose whole argument for leaving heaven is based on emotion!!!

Then we have Gabriel and Balthasar, which are very similar. Both display want and willingness to act solely in their own interests (and against others) to achieve those wants, they hold grudges, they have a sense of humor, both show the full range of emotion thought out their course on the show.

Metatron is a big one, deviating from this supposed divine nature earlier than everyone other than maybe Gabriel. He wants to create, he wants power, he not only experiences the full range of emotion he also enjoys sharing it with others!!! He is of course also petty and self centered (which if you exist solely in the service of another would be impossible).

Then we get the fallen angels, all of which show anger at Cas and his allies, all of which act in their own interests when picking sides in the S9 war, and ALL of which demonstrate their capabilities to act as individuals.

All in all, Hannah is probably the closest angel we get to displaying the same 'soldier machine' persona Cas is introduced as, but even that has more to do with a similar confusion about human society than anything else. She shows emotion AND her own will very quickly.

SO MY POINT IS, CAS ISINT DIFFERENT BECAUSE HE FEELS. CAS IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE HE WAS SO RESISTANT TO FEELING!!!!!

Is his unfailing devotion to Dean perhaps out of the ordinary? Yes! But not because he is an angel and angels are incapable of it, we have absolutely seen angels devote themselves whole heartedly to causes before, it's because their relationship is a little intense by ANY standard. Humans are equally as baffled by it!

So this gets into WHY? Why was Castiel operating as a soldier machine for so long? And what about Dean (& the apocalypse arc) was enough to finally allow himself the personality that his peers had been displaying all along?

And that my friends is when I start nitpicking at Naomi (another angel who could be added to the list above) and her comments in relation to brain washing and 're-training.' She mentions that he has been in her office more than anyone else. Maybe Cas could never live a long enough period of time (relative to his unimaginably long life span) between brainwashing to start developing the personality that the rest of the angels had eons to form. And the 'retraining' pain experienced anytime he started to make any sort of progress was enough to be afraid of growth, all under the obviously false guise of being the nature of being an angel.

I think a lot of this fandom tends to misrepresent what happens on this show because of not understanding the time period. The Wheelers are abusive and neglectful to people who have gotten gently parented. But that was just what life was like back then. Parents didn't track their kids every move. They couldn't. Sure sometimes this was neglect. But the Wheelers as they are depicted on screen, are not shown as neglectful. They are just shown as normal parents of the time. It's relatable to a lot of people watching. I had a similar upbringing and I personally don't think gentle parenting is great. I see a lot of kids still struggling with emotions when that type of parenting was supposed to help make kids emotionally intelligent. I think there is something to be said for giving kids a little independence and letting them figure things out for themselves. I don't really think parents being constantly involved in everything their kids do is going to lead to well rounded adults. I think it leads to a lot of young adults who can't handle their problems without their parents. I think that's where the confusion comes from with the teens and young adults in this fandom. They aren't familiar with being given freedom and independence and it seems scary and dangerous to them. Not all parents are great at talking about emotions and sometimes it's better for kids to work though those things on their own. I see people confused about the AIDS references too. This was impacting a lot during this time. So I don't like when people in the fandom are so dismissive. And an extension of this is people comparing Reagan to Trump when they aren't comparable - at least the reactions to each of them aren't comparable. A lot of people loved Reagan. It's why we have a cast of outcasts. They are all people Reagan didn't like. They are people who didn't fit in and they are shaped by the time period. The time period on this show is important and isn't just for nostalgia. So it's not just that the fandom struggles with figuring out how Mike and Will are showing IH. They really don't understand how much each of these characters don't fit into their town in different ways. You have to understand the setting of the show. It's like a character itself. I think some of the young people in the fandom like to assume the younger characters are relatable to them and are there for them. But I don't think they understand them as well as people who were actually teens in the 80s.

As a history buff - all the analyzing and historical context for everything really is a big part of what intrigues and interests me about the show. Even moreso than the deeper "theories" that people otherwise get into! Why the characters might act the way they do, why the sets are the way they are, the references and how they are integrated and reformatted for a modern audience, the music, the costuming, the character arcs and motivations, what was actually going in real history at the time, the culture. Ahhhhhhh. The 80s. My focus eras have always been fixated on the 80s and 90s so that's what drew me to this show in the first place - and not quite a nostalgia factor, it's just what I feel is a very interesting era in modern history, even how close it feels in context of humanity. But it's important!!

The Wheelers are such a worthy topic. I think a misunderstanding is definitely whewwwwwww as you've detailed, some validity there. Definitely cannot hold them up to some of today's modern parenting practices. And the "well, it was normal and commonplace and that's The Way it Was" as I state myself is not something incredibly praise-worthy, but it's realistic. The way it was isn't always Right, but it's not all Wrong - there's nuance and consideration. Are they the best examples of parenting???? No. But, neither is Joyce. Clearly both Karen and Joyce love their children. In different ways. With different lives. I don't think it's useful at all to be like "oh Joyce loves her children more than Karen loves her children." That's not really fair. I do think it's fair to say Ted loves his kids more than Lonnie loves his, however.

Anyway, I think you hit a lot of engaging topics in your ask about parenting styles and a greater conversation is to be had about the whole era context and differences but I'll leave this as is. You made interesting points!!

And ooohhhhhhh yes!! The other contexts - the societal pervasiveness of the fear of the AIDS crisis and the differences in the conservative presidency, then and now. All to be considered for the show - and you cannot completely use modern sensibilities, caveat to the writing and creation happening today, so there is a retrospective and commentary angle as it's not a true product of the times.

Rambling about Shoemon's evo line and how good it is. This probably makes no sense but here you go.

OK SO

Shoemon's line is so cool and so well thought-out it's crazy. Having it start with the shoe motif then suddenly jump to a fairy tale theme and culminating in a Cinderella inspired digimon was genius enough as it was, and then they threw in Puss in Boots too, it's so good. And the best part is all of these fairytale-inspired digimon are consistent in being specifically inspired by Charles Perrault's tale collection. I noticed that straight away with Chaperomon and Cendrillmon because of their names (based on "Le Petit Chaperon Rouge" and "Cendrillon", the french titles of their respective tales), but somehow it never occurred to me that they could add another Perrault tale to the mix that would continue the shoe theme, I almost screamed when they first revealed Nyabootmon. Y'all don't get it I was going insane.

It's also really cool how Shoemon and ShoeShoemon are both rodent-like puppet digimon with this raggedy look to them, I don't think they're supposed to take inspiration from any fairy tales (at least definitely not the Perrault ones) but it makes the eventual transition to Cendrillmon feel all the more meaningful. Of course in between those there's still Chaperomon, who kinda combines the shoe and puppet motif with the fairy tale motif. Now, Little Red Riding Hood has nothing to do with shoes, bue she is named after an item of clothing that she wears which fits pretty well with the previous theme (especially considering how Shoemon holds a sewing needle, IT'S ALL CONNECTED).

Also as an aside, I love Chaperomon's reference book lore, especially the whole thing about hunting down wolf digimon and making them into shoes. Especially considering that the wolf in this tale is meant to be an allegory for a different type of "predator", I'm always up for retellings that allow the heroine to get her revenge.

It is probably also worth noting that Perrault's version of Little Red Riding Hood is the one that ends with her being eaten by the wolf, followed by a moral in verse about how beautiful young girls shouldn't trust "wolves" that act nice to them. Chaperomon being a puppet with no actual flesh and with stitches both on her face and her hood (as well as the mouths on the wolf shoes) might be related to that tragic ending somehow. Maybe. Perhaps.

But aah, that gradual transition is so good, and I love how Cendrillmon gets an army of lil puppet mice and birds, keeping up with the theme despite her much more human appearance. And man she has such a gorgeous design, I love how they made the glass slippers into these huge pointy thigh-high crystal boots. Speaking of boots...

AND THEN THERE'S NYABOOTMON. One interesting detail I recently found out about Puss in Boots is that in earlier variants of the tale (specifically the ones by Straparola and Basile) the cat was female. In Perrault's version it was changed to a male, and while this is clearly the one that inspired Nyabootmon (as evidenced by the attack name "Carabas Special" being a reference to the fictional Marquis de Carabas in the story), it's a curious fact considering Shoemon's other evolutions are all feminine looking. Nyabootmon's more masculine appearance may feel a little out of place at first (or not, this is Digimon after all) but when you take that into consideration it actually fits quite well! Of course, I have no idea if the people behind it were even aware of this, but it's still a fun coincidence.

And oh, I love how the line starts with a mouse-like creature and ends with a cat. Feels like there's some form of symbolism in it too, it could probably be interpreted many ways. But it's such a nice touch, especially since we start with an animal form, gradually transition to a humanoid one and then go back to animal. So, so good.

Anyway yeah sorry that's kind of a whole lot of nothing but hopefully it makes some sense. I just needed to yell about this because I've been thinking so much about this whole evolution line ever since Nyabootmon was first revealed. There's a lot more going on in my brain that I can't quite put into words and stuff that I won't get into because it would make this thing so much longer (I especially have many thoughts about Chaperomon) but this should get most of my point across hopefully. My point being that IT'S SO GOOD. Ugh.

EXACTLY! I get how people can enjoy the trope of understanding why a bully character is the way that they are, because it's nice to see a level of humanity in someone. But Jax does such vile things that the fandom passes of as either being funny or god forbid, attractive. (Not trying to shame anyone who likes him btw, this is more so in relation to when people excuse his actions).

Gangle's nominee video actually broke my heart. People who shame your interests and passions are the absolute worst, and having experienced that before, it tears at your self-esteem. There is no world where Jax losing his only friend should excuse (or even make understandable) him making Gangle believe she isn't worthy of love. People really want Jax to be this tortured soul, but at the end of the day he's still inexcusably awful.

Kinger lost his wife, and Ragatha, having been there the second-longest, has definitely seen many people come and go (given how many of the funerals she's gone to). All that, and they are still decent people with genuine hearts.

Absolutely agree with the Pomni thing, by the way. And I genuinely intend this as zero hate to Funnybunny shippers, but I think perceiving Jax's interactions with her in episode five as something kind or romantic is giving him way too much credit. He complained to her, then proceeded to use her the rest of the episode in his personal back-and-forth with Ragatha.

Also have to mention that Jax gaslighting Ragatha into believing she "told Gangle to kill herself" immediately after she opened up about her abusive childhood is absolutely vile. Haven't seen anyone bring that up but that rabbit needs to be humbled.

Just a healthy reminder that Jax losing Ribbit isn't an excuse for any of his actions. Kinger lost his wife, and he's the sweetest soul to the others. Everyone copes differently, and that's part of the beauty of Digital Circus, but people excusing Jax's actions because of his grief but shaming Ragatha for being a child of abuse is just fucked.

( a note about shipping.

i am very open to shipping and i enjoy it a lot! however, i want to make a quick note that shipping guizhong with humans is something that will be difficult and will take time - i'm not saying that it's impossible, but she would be very selective and would probably only entertain the idea of a relationship if she knew someone very well.

guizhong adores humans. she thinks that they are incredibly precious and important. she has a great deal of respect for them, and she wants to protect them. she sees it as her duty as a god to guide and nurture them. but she doesn't entirely see them as her equals.

while she doesn't look down on them, she's very aware that there is a large gap between her and humanity. she isn't one of them; she is their god. when she looks at them, she doesn't see people that she could have an intimate relationship with; she sees people who are vulnerable, people who worship and venerate her. she would see a relationship with them to be breaching her duty as their god.

if she developed a close friendship with a human and had some of her beliefs challenged, she could come to see that person as her equal. there are probably other circumstances where she could reach the same conclusion. that's why a relationship with a human isn't entirely off the table - but it would have to be slow-burn.

all of that being said, guizhong really does love humans and humanity, and i'm looking forward to all of the different dynamics we can write together! )
