this is a bit embarrassing but for me, it was jake and the neverland pirates. i was like...6 or 7, maybe 5 or 6 when i saw that show for the first time.

from the very first episode i saw, i was really drawn to hook. maybe it was because i had always liked villains as a kid, maybe it was because i thought he was just a silly guy, or maybe it was because my two favorite characters at the time were also pirates, (it was probably all three, actually) but something about hook just made me love him as a character. he wasn't exactly a great villain, which was to be expected since he was from a show for toddlers, but he was different from most of the villains i had seen at the time.

my obsession with hook got REAL bad after i started watching jatnp 😭 i won't go into detail, but i will say that i had multiple daydreams abt him during school which totally had me distracted for a good portion of class 😔 i had entire stories thought out where i would defeat peter pan and win hook over, i was on this man like white on rice

it was only during middle school that my love for hook was reignited, since we watched peter pan in spanish class (in english, for whatever reason). i was geeking to my friend SO HARD abt hook to him, he was so done with me 😭

now im in my third year of high school, and my obsession with hook is at an all time high. im probably more into hook now then i was as a kid, tbh

Alright, I’m curious… For my fellow fans of the traditional Captain Hook (not OUAT’s Killian), what was it about the character that initially drew you in? Which version first caught your attention? At what point did you look at him and go, “Okay, yup, adding this guy to my list of favs”?

For me, it was when I first watched the Disney film around age 12. In particular, I think it was the scene following the events at Skull Rock when Hook is sick in his cabin that really got to me. We don’t often see scenes in the earlier hand-drawn Disney films that show the villain in a sympathetic light. But Hook? In that moment, he was very broken, very human. And I was intrigued. I read Barrie’s novel shortly thereafter and found that the original character was also interesting and complex. Before long, I was checking out any new form of Peter Pan media I could get my hands on…and the rest is history!

I HOPE YOU CAN STILL REMEMBER THE QUESTION ABOUT THAT YOU ASKED ME WHAT IS MY FAVORITE JOHN WICK PART- all of the sequels are amazing and the action scenes gets cooler and intense as always and hello- KEANU REEVES is the best! I love the first one, it's just so great and the suspense about "The Boogeyman" scene is so freaking awesome like I remember my dad was geeking out while he's showing this film to me when I was 13 or 14 and I became so obsessed with it! I might be biased about it because Willem Dafoe and John Leguizamo is in there like I know they're just supporting actors but I just really like how it is written- it's so iconic- AND ALSO THE DAMN DOG had me gasping for air 😔✋🏻 I'm such a nerd about films like I could talk about it all day lmao

OKAY, LEMME JUST RANT ABOUT THE NEW CHAPTERS OF PRICE OF FAME?!? IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER ON EVERY PART THAT YOU JUST RELEASED?!? THAT WHOLE SERIES?!? IS LITERALLY MY LIFE RIGHT NOW! anyone else feel a little iffy about the whole “we have a duty thing” he was saying to Ahsoka? maybe I just wasn’t paying enough attention, but it felt a little to me like he meant she had to/was obligated to join the Rebellion. it doesn’t seem very in sync with Bail in general, but if someone has a different interpretation that makes more sense, please share with me.

the only other thing is I’m just confused and a little irritated about the section with the farmers and the Inquisitor. like, when in the timeline exactly did that whole encounter take place? and if they wanted to show a storyline like that, why didn’t they just animate some key moments from the Ahsoka novel? I feel like it sort of gives it more weight in a way to have Ahsoka’s big return to the good fight and the Rebellion set two years after the end of the war, and given how similar the setups are, I have to say I would have much rather had at least some scenes from the book in animation than a whole new separate thing that kind of replaces it.

Oh hell yes, i was a big cr fan since the shitty geek n sundry studio (i still remember the adrenaline i felt staying up at fuck o'clock for the kevdak fight live, what a feeling) but kinda fell out of love with the show for the past little while, im gonna go cry about gay hubris while getting over the whole mother glory ordeal

the kevdak fight...... perhaps the best episode of cr there ever was... i still love that one so much aaaaah!! yeah i haven't been disliking the show (if it was actively not fun for me i wouldn't watch it) but i used to be a lot more into it and calamity is such a rush of those old feelings that it's like Oh Right, I Love This Show. It Can Be This Good.
