i don't usually point out tags but i keep seeing remarks like this and i feel like i have to rebut them, especially as someone who still doesn't entirely understand how this cutscene asset has become so many people's idea of the mastermind behind everything. if you'll revisit their dialogue with me for a moment; neither swatch nor spamton mention hair color as being part of spamton's plan – spamton mentions hair in a more general sense, but swatch mentions spamton is copying their black suit, not their black hair.

and both spamton and swatch state directly where spamton's current look came from, particularly the glasses – it isn't just bias from one party or the other.

there's heavy evidence outside of their words in spamton's actions with regard to trying to get into the basement to see neo during the events of the game, too. we don't even know if spamton was aware of image_friend, or even if it's something important enough to his story or the story of deltarune itself for him to have seen it at all. spamton happening to look like it is what seems most likely to be the coincidence.

in general, i feel like a lot of characters who have textually been stated to have done certain things get set aside in favor of image_friend. but image_friend isn't even an entity yet – we don't even know if it does anything. there are characters like swatch who are, and who are important parts of the story that people like me are invested in. just because they aren't as "mysterious" or popular as image_friend doesn't mean their actions can be credited to it.
