Brief Synopsis:

Desperate for stability following the Blitz, fleeing from mistakes in her past, and hearing nothing of her brother serving on the frontlines of an increasingly violent war, young newlywed Aurora Finch must find out who - or what - is killing those close to her and why spiders have come to infest all of their corpses. As paranoia mounts after being named a suspect in the murders when her husband suddenly falls ill, and fearing that she is haunted by a literal shadow of death that has followed her all her life, she is driven to find security and companionship in the company of her cold, mysterious housekeeper, a woman who has watched Aurora from the dark corners of Webb Hall ever since her arrival to the estate as a bride.

hi anon my apologies u sent this a while ago but the movie announcement has me Thinking things so here we are ! (adding a read more here so heartstopper enjoyers can feel free to scroll without being bombarded by my Thoughts)

to be honest, i don’t dislike the show *that* much! i thought the first season was super cute, but around s2 i started getting bored with it. it’s nothing against the show itself or people who do like it, and i haven’t read the books so maybe there’s a facet of it that i’m missing out on because of it, but it’s very much a show that’s designed to outline as many different lgbtq and mental health topics as possible and explain why It’s All Okay 👍 😃 which is fine! i understand why for a younger queer person still figuring themself out, it might be really helpful to see those topics actually talked about on tv. however, since i’m not at that stage of life anymore, i start to get annoyed by all of the Perfectionism of it, because what i want out of media i engage in is a story that is Interesting, and heartstopper just isn’t that to me. everyone is too understanding about everything, and can express their feelings in perfect Therapy Words, and like, i don’t know. my favorite book is the goldfinch. i want stories about gay people who suck and are mean to each other and go through decades of homoerotic angst before they even begin to try to unpack it. i want the story to be about something Besides just the fact that the characters are gay and mentally ill.

“but it’s good queer representation!” yeah, it’s representation and it’s important. but i think queer people deserve to see themselves represented in stories that are complex and meaningful and actuallt feel Real, too, and i think that people who act like this show is the end all be all of gay rep need to take a second to think about how maybe it’s Not a good thing for the only media about gay people we have to be About Being Gay. i think heartstopper has a very clear message that many people need to hear, but for me personally? i don’t like when my media tries to teach me something. there’s a difference between having themes and messages that make you Think vs having a Moral Of The Story that is shoved down ur throat from day one.

-Goes by the nickname Leet. Which Chance chose it for him…

-He is a clone of the real Guest 1337. And was created by The Spectre, because they decided against teleporting the real guest for some reason… Only begs the questions; Why did it let him escape without a fight, if it made him? Isn’t it a waste?

-Depthization somehow made him a quieter than he already was.

-It was, and still is, uncomfortable suddenly having horns and a tail, post-Depthization. He feels they just get in the way…

-His tail moves stiffly, and likely will for a while.

-Wouldn’t admit it, but he’s more impulsive than he thought. (Nothing compared to Chance though—Bud needs to chill out💀)

-Still, he is one of the most (seemingly)-calm out of the group.

Feelings about the Other’s:

Noob - One of the Robloxian’s he swore to protect. Would say they remind him of something, but refuses to think about what. He’s glad the kid kept some of their ‘whimsy’, after escaping Forsaken. (//Note: Noob is an adult, but Leet sees them a bit like a kid.. which is ironic but- 😶‍🌫️)

Chance - Genuinely doesn’t know how he’s alive. Knows he has skill, but gets worried for him…

Elliot - They help keep the others in check. Leet wishes they would let themself relax sometimes.

Two Time - If he’s unnerved by them, he doesn’t make it obvious.

Misc Facts:

-Has tried to convince Chance to use a reliable gun on multiple occasions. Did teach Elliot and Noob how to fire one before the Spawn Cult-Situation, though.

-Was left with some nonphysical scars, after the whole ordeal with the Spawn Cult.

-Vaguely remembers details of things that happened while he was br- *Gets crushed by 37 piano’s*

-Doesn’t remember the faces or names of the real Guest 1337’s Friends or Family.. but knows their voices, and blurry details about how they were.

-If it weren’t for the fact he’s a Clone, he likely wouldn’t have stayed with the group.
