POV: A silly star man stares into your soul while ur studying

Imma use this post to yap abt Reverie and show some of his relationships with other characters. Hopefully this post can help yall to figure out a love interest for him 😭

If you didn't know, Reverie is twisted from the star from wish! He also has some motifs of the genie from aladdin and the sun flower from tangled, but the star is his main inspiration.

◇ Reverie Daydream ◇

An optimistic and slightly mischievous young man with exceptional magical prowess. He's the son of RSA's headmage, and as such, he tends to get special treatment from staff, and even though he does mischievous acts at times, he always gets away with only a slap on the wrist.

Rev strives to one day be able to grand people's wishes. Even though he can't yet, he still helps people achieve their dreams through other means. Whether that'd be through giving them gifts, sending them on vacations, or even paying off their debts. Rev is a magical genius and could even defeat Malleus.... if he wanted to. Rev usually doesn't like fighting, especially when it's against people he's supposed to rival against. Rev simply wants everyone to live in harmony, no matter how powerful they are.

Reverie's hair is very special. His father said he was blessed by the stars and was given hair that was partially made of stardust. Due to this, Rev is very bad at hiding from people. He has a very bright glow that he can not turn off. The only way to get rid of the glow is to cut off a piece. Then, that piece will lose it's glow. Reverie's freckles are also made out of stardust, and they glow, but only when Rev is flustered/embarrassed.

Relationships:

Rev really wants to visit NRC, yet he is still slightly scared of the people there. He has met certain people, but he doesn't know them much at this point.

Malleus: Reverie and Malleus have a very.... strange relationship. A lot of people speculate that the two are enemies since Rev's father has stated that he wants him to be the ruler of Briar Valley. As such, Malleus dislikes Rev and refuses to speak with him unless told to. Rev, on the other hand, really respects Malleus and thinks he's cool. He has no intent to become a king and simply wants peace, yet he's scared that Malleus will snap at him if he attempts to speak with him.

Leona: Rev has only met Leona once, and that was at the culture festival. Rev had unintentionally eavesdropped on a conversation Leona was having with Ruggie about defeating Malleus in Spelldrive. Rev was intrigued at Leona's distaste for Malleus and wanted to help him in some way, but Leona found him snooping and immediately yelled at him, causing Rev to flee.

This spell allows Elena to summon a bubble that shows her the Past, Future, and Present of a specific person.

Each time setting has a different requirement. She can see whats happening in the present anytime without any issues, while looking into the past and future are much trickier.

But, a common requirement is that Elena must personally know the person to use her spell on them. And, the better she knows that person, the easier and much clearer the visions are.

She cannot use the spell on herself.

Since this spell is so powerful, it accumulates blot quickly if not used wisely.

She can only look into the future once or twice a month. She can only look into the past a few times a week. But she can see the present anytime.

After looking into the future and past, though, her magical abilities are drastically weakened.

A rather short girl with a pear body shape, Elena has pretty Opal hair with a pretty rainbow shimmer, and almost pearl-like eyes that reflect color beautifully.

She looks like she doesn’t have pupils— but she does trust me !! She has a sweet, round face as well as soft facial features. Big, shiny eyes and cute lashes, as well as notably plump lips. She has she sweetest chubby cheeks and fluffy hair and eyebrows ! Notably quite pale, and her skin is somewhat glittery.

Well, a leech is a leech, right? Trouble runs in their blood, and even if she is adopted shes still one of them nonetheless.

The sudden increase of success the Monstro Lounge has gotten is no coincidence, in fact it was all planned from the very beginning. Elena is no damsel in distress, not a pawn used by Azul. No, not at all. Shes never needed saving.

Don’t you know? Back home, everyone’s terrified out of their wits because of the big, bad, scary siren swimming around. And no one can do a thing, how could they when shes under the protection of the Leech family? No one wants to get on their bad side.

Azul’s most trusted friend, his very best friend. And Monstro Lounge’s best informat. Their spy, if you will. Her charming little act is nothing more than that, an act. A well-crafted facade to gain the trust of unsuspecting students, after all Azul’s reputation doesn’t do him any favors when it comes to the trust of the school body— so who better than the cute, new bright-eyed student to come in and steal everyone’s hearts?

They have no idea all the little secrets they let slip around Elena makes it way to Azul. Elena always updating him with all of the lastest info regarding the student body.

Shes a master of psychology, studying everyone around her constantly. A silent observer, everything she does and says has a purpose, drawing people closer and closer, getting them to trust her. She has files upon files written by herself, dedicated to analyzing and memorizing everyone’s indivual traits. Psychoanalyzing personalities, studying their body language, the way they speak, their tells for lies…

She knows exactly what to say and how depending on who shes talking to, and everyone is blissfully unaware of the fact its all been completely intentional.

In truth, she doesn’t really care about anyone other than her brothers and Azul. Why would she? She knows theyre only kind because they only know this version of her, she knows they wouldnt be as welcoming once they knew who she really is, what she really is.

Its not her fault that people choose to trust her. Dont they know the laws of the sea? Its kill or be killed down in the depths, and ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves. One shouldn't be surprised to get bitten if you so willingingly stretch out your hand to a beast. A monster is a monster, and nothing will ever change that.

Elena at her core is deeply sensitive, shes emotional and loving— but shes closed off her heart from the rest of the world a very long time ago. There are layers upon layers to peel when it comes to her, but maybe one day there would be someone new to find her vulnerable heart shes hidden from everyone so desperately.

She loves so deeply for the people closest to her, but even then shes scared to ever say a word about it. The last thing she wants is to be seen as weak. But, no matter how hard she tries to hide it, she’ll never be able to fully cover up the fact she cares so deeply about her loved ones.

But her loyalty comes to the point of self sacrifice. She’ll do anything in her power to make sure they remain untouched, unharmed. She doesn’t care how or what to do, she doesn’t care how many people she has to use or hurt, she doesn’t care if it’ll cost her own life and dreams, she’ll do it. Because she does it for them, and only them. When others are your everything, nothing else matters. Even if she’ll end up giving up everything she has, and more than that.

To summarize it for now, Sirens are seen as monsters and lacking of empathy and morals. She was adopted by the Leech family after her lil’ egg thingy drifted off to their doorstep (???), and grew up as one of them. It was only later in her life they, and she, began to realize she wasn’t a mermaid, but something else. When everyone came to the realization she was actually a siren and not a mermaid, she was shunned by everyone else— except her family and Azul.

○˚.• — NOTABLE RELATIONSHIPS !

Elena ♡ Jamil — Hatred At First Sight. || When Elena first saw Jamil during Book 2, she immediately disliked him. It was probably because she couldn’t immediately get a good read on him, and she hated that. She knew there was more to him than the “average student” facade he kept up, but she didn’t know what, and it drove her insane. It was almost to the point of obsession, really. She tried everything she could to get him to crack after that. Following him around, purposefully annoying him— anything, just to get him to drop the act she knew he was keeping up.

After the events of Book 4, their mutual dislike of eachother was obvious to everyone. But… When the lines of love and hate begin to blur, and those glares turn into longing glances, they’ve begun to realize, maybe the other isnt so bad.

Azul & Elena — Bestfriends! || Elena is Azul’s best and most trusted friend. She’d honestly die for him, and her loyalty to him is admirable. Always standing behind him, Elena quite literally always has his back. She sees him like a little brother despite him being older, and feels a sense of protectiveness towards him. Shes always looking out for him and doting on him, making sure hes taking care of himself and eating well. Despite how much she teases him, she of course cares for him a lot, and will never tolerate anyone else teasing or talking bad about him. Will literally dropkick anyone that dares to try.

Elena & the Tweels — Family! || Her literal brothers. Growing up with those two, there was never a dull moment! They all care for eachother very deeply, and even if Elena never says it outloud they know she loves them dearly. Elena is always looking out for Floyd, scolding him whenever he does something reckless while panicking to take care of whatever injury he has, Elena always eats Jade’s dishes, despite not really wanting to. She doesn’t want to make him sad, after all. And even though she knows that its probably just to guilt her into eating it, she can’t handle seeing him pouting.

Jade likes to carry around her things for her, and Floyd likes to let her tag along in his little adventures. Elena loves her brothers very dearly, and also does not tolerate any badmouthing of them. Will actually go feral if you try to in her presence

Elena & Trey — “Suspicious…” || Yeah. Elena is scared of Trey. Its literally only because he baked a dessert so good she almost broke character. Ever since shes been wary of him, and he doesnt know why…

Elena & Ruggie — “So Cool…” || Elena really admires Ruggie!! Shes always admired hardworking people, really. And after the events of Book 2, shes been looking up to him a lot! Although she gets too shy and nervous to strike up a conversation with him, she often leaves him coupons for a free meal at Mostro Lounge. Of which Azul never actually approved of— but he can’t really do anything, because its Elena. So, he supposes he’ll let it pass…

Ruggie, however, isn’t at all aware of her admiration for him. She never directly gives him the coupons either, usually just leaving them wherever she knows he’ll find them. So, he doesn’t have a notable opinion on her for now.

Elena & Malleus — “Damn… Just like me fr!!” || Initially, Elena only joined the Gargoyle Appreciation Club in hopes of gathering information on Malleus. But, she ended up genuinely enjoying her time there, and Malleus’ company. She enjoyed learning about Gargoyles, and trying her hand at creating some. She discovered, Malleus… Wasn’t as scary as she expected. And then she realized, she was looking at Malleus the same way other merfolk back in the Coral Sea looked at her. And she felt terrible about her assumptions.

It was because she realized they were actually so very similar that Elena gained a soft spot for the fae. And so, she ended up never bringing back any info to the Lounge. Because yes, she is loyal. But she is loyal to everyone that deserves her loyalty. And Malleus is definetly one of those people.

Elena & The First Year Gang (+Kyra) — “Idiots… But theyre MY idiots.” || Although Elena only stuck around them for the sake of gathering information, she ended up getting attatched to them. Some how, some way, against everything— she.. Actually saw them as… Friends??? EEEWW GROSS!!!! She couldn’t BELIEVE herself. Shes sunken so very low. She felt terrible, almost like she was betraying Azul and her brothers by getting attached to them. So she tried to deny it, tried to ignore it. But, Elena cant ever hide how much she actually cares. She ended up not giving Azul much of the information she’s gathered from them, and even looked the other way when she noticed them sneaking into his office.

She didnt expect to make any friends when enrolling at NRC. But the world is a mysterious place, and it has funny ways of doing things. And slowly but surely, they’re tearing down her icy shell and tall walls. Maybe one day, she can let herself be vulnerable.

○˚.• — FUNFACTS / TRIVIA !

Elena is Twisted from Ursula’s Bubble!

She loves spicy food!

Elena is actually very physically strong! She can easily carry something 10x her size.

She also has the biggest appetite ever, she could easily beat even Ruggie in an eating competition. This is because Elena is a Siren, and has a much different diet than both land-beings and merfolk.

Sirens actually eat much, much more than you'd expect, as the other creatures in the deep sea where the sirens live are freakishly big and absolutely packing in protein and nutrients (that, and the fact they eat humans and other seafolk).

Because of that, Elena eats much more than you'd expect without gaining weight or height, since its barely enough for her body.

Elena was a biter as a kid.

Elena is adopted, yet has no desire to know about her real parents.

She can't use her signature spell on Kyra for some reason. And as of late her predictions have been getting blurry whenever she gets involved.

If Jade usually stands at Azul’s right, and Floyd stands at his left, Elena stands behind him. Somewhat as symbolism for her involvment in the Mostro Lounge’s shady business being hidden.

Elena is very interested in ballet, and is a ballerina!!

Elena is freakishly strong, and could easily carry her brothers 😭 she has a nasty bite and while Azul doesn’t let her do any of the dirty work for the Lounge and instead likes to keep her close by, she definetly could handle the dirty work if it came down to it.

^^ Like her brothers shes also trained in self defense. She may be on the shorter side, but her hits are no joke! She loves a good fight, as it lets her let out all of the pent up frustration she has.

🥩 Gang members started to raid the shops and demand tribute, "keeping the roads safe of robbers" they said.

🥩 No luck with cops either, they were always bribed to keep their mouths shut.

🥩 Not only that, but one day as you were rushing to pick said pieces for the party, a noble appeared in the shop.

🥩 Count Nornstein? No... Something with a F maybe. You are not deep into politics.

🥩 What you saw in your shop was instead a very frazzled, sleep deprived man that probably hasn't seen the sun in weeks.

🥩 Of course, you treated him with the utmost respect, no need to get in trouble with the bobbies. 

🥩 "I need some meat, and a pig's heart" he stated "the freshest you can give me. Name whatever price, it won't matter, I'll pay it."

🥩 More money quickly? Lady luck has blessed you. You rushed to give him what he wanted and he left.

🥩 Next day was when chaos began. It was a Thursday night, you were getting ready to separate the pieces the duke servant's would pick up in the morning

🥩 When you discover the inventory missing.

🥩 No no.... They weren't missing, you accidentally gave them to the noble, the count! Yes you remember now, this is a nightmare!

🥩 You don't want to imagine what could happen if you fail the duke, or even more, failed to pay the "rent".

🥩 With no other option, you tread towards the count's mansion. 

🥩 Maybe you could seduce a guard to let you in the kitchen? Tell them the meat was a spoiled one and you need to change it immediately?

🥩 Gasping for air you reach the mansion at the end of town, only to find it.... Empty. Maybe it's late and everyone is asleep already?

🥩 No time to think about the logistics or criminality, you find yourself soon jumping over the fence and peeking around the estate.

🥩 There is a trapdoor near the garden, almost at the forest that closes around the county.

🥩 Some smoke seems to emerge from it. It must be the kitchen! Or the storage room!

🥩 Surprisingly, it has no locks. 

🥩 Opening it, you find not a kitchen, nor a storage, but a study, how annoying.

🥩 A sound emerges from the darkness, a silhouette soon being shadowed by loads of books. 

🥩 You see one sole amber eye, watching you.

🥩 And you run. 

🥩 Shaky legs barely got you inside the foliage of the forest and you let out a sound that seemed like a cough, but could reminisce a sob.

🥩 "I can't hunt. How am I supposed to get quality deer meat in a few hours?"

🥩 Then a rustle. Some cracks. You see a deer, with it's beady eyes looking at your soul.

🥩 A hand grasps it at it’s neck, a wail leaves it for a millisecond, before...

CRACK!

🥩 It's neck is broken.

🥩 That same amber eye appears from the dark, a huge man holding the deer as if it was a small rabbit.

🥩 Time to accept death, you wonder briefly, before he.... Offers it to you?

🥩 ".....?" The man... Creature? Tilts his head to the side, and shakes the corpse of the poor deer towards you as if it's an obvious gesture.

🥩 Not wanting to anger him, you try to hoist the deer on your shoulders. It's heavy as hell. 

🥩 You look at the man again. His hands are bigger than your head.

🥩 He blinks. Then gives what seems like a really awkward smile.

ACANTHUS ; PRINCE OF HEARTS {oc introduction}

{acanthus’ masterlist}

Acanthus is the eldest of eight children, of which he is the only son. He is also the only one interested in being the heir, while his 7 sisters have plans for far different futures. One wants to be a baker, while another wants to live a quiet life in cottage with her spouse for the rest of their days.

But out of all of them, Acanthus is by far the one who took after his mother the most. He’s extremely irritable, hotheaded, and quick to assume. He can’t handle the idea of anybody being better off, happier, richer, more liked, etc etc than him.

Most avoid him at all costs, given his… nature— on some level, Acanthus is aware that his behavior is what drives people away from him. He doesn’t care, he enjoys people being afraid of him; it means they won’t try to ‘one up him’.

Acanthus is 25, and his birthday is somewhere in mid to late October. His birthday is celebrated like a national holiday, as is the rest of his immediate family’s.

As expected, he is incredibly self-serving and spoiled, but that doesn’t mean he can’t hold affection for anyone. He adores his sisters, and spends as much time as he can with them.

On the other hand, he looks up to and idolizes his mother— but thinks she’s a bit too soft on her subjects, if that tells you anything about how he plans to rule when he takes the throne. Acanthus is generally indifferent to his father, but often finds him annoying more than anything.

He had some friends growing up, kids of other nobles in the kingdom. Since then, they’ve grown apart, or maybe they just matured and realized Acanthus wasn’t the kind of person you’d want to be friends with.

Really, Acanthus doesn’t care at all to hide his less than ideal traits, and if anything he flaunts them. It gets people to do what he wants immediately, under the threat of prolonged torture if they disobey in any way.

See, that’s the thing about Acanthus. He can be rather impatient with some things, but when it comes to punishments; he differs the most from his mother in this regard.

She likes the punishment to be quick and swift, off with their heads and all. Acanthus loves prolonging it, loves dragging out the pain until they either keel over— or make it to the end, and he lets them go, but they have to live with the memories of what happened.

Everyone knows how sadistic he can be— except for you. Darling, exceptional little you, who’s a bit wary of him at first— but soon come around after he smothers you with half-performative charm.

He’s charismatic when he wants to be, when his goal is important enough for him to mask the more unsavory parts of his personality from sight.

Honestly, he’s never wanted anything more than he wants you— just you, in your entirety. It was love at first sight, he tells himself, he tells you.

But you know the truth, eventually you come to realize it wasn’t love. He saw something in you, whether that be physical or otherwise, that made him attach to you like a leech. Sucking everything good out of you, until you’re nothing but an empty husk.

Obsession— and it’s an obsession that keeps him from actually helping you with your goal. Getting home; and he never outright says he won’t help you, but he never seems to make any progress on getting you out from Wonderland.

He’d much rather drive a dagger into his own heart rather than willingly let you go, or unwillingly, even. Once Acanthus thinks of you as his, he won’t be able to fathom a world without you. He won’t know how he managed to go as long as he did without you by his side,

His darling little canary, songbird, dearest, better half— Acanthus really has a thing for petnames when it comes to you.

Jester's signature spell allows her to change anything considered a “rule” or a “law”. Whether it be as small as the rules written in a book, or as big as the laws of gravity, as long as its considered a law, she can change it!

But, before changing said rule, she must first know exactly how it works. Think of it as a safe lock. If she knows how the machinery of the inside works, or figures it out, she can change that rule of how it opens. But if she doesn't, then she can't do a thing.

Her most notable feature is that her face is constantly hidden behind an enchanted mask that changes depending on her expression.

She has long blonde hair with beautiful, almost perfect curls. She wears lots of accessories in her hair, and there is often confetti that gets stuck in her hair.

She has a very slender bodytype! Shes very athletic and despite her body seeming rather skinny, her legs and arms are very strong, and her muscles are no joke!

Underneath the mask, she is very pretty. She has a doll-like beauty, and two notable beautymarks, one located under each eye. She has long, thick blonde lashes and pretty purple eyes. She has a gap between her front teeth. The rest of her body is littered with beautymarks, and her face also has some several other beautymarks but they are much lighter than the two under her eyes. But, no one other than Riddle and Vil has ever seen her face.

Jester moves like a cartoon character. She often appears out of thin air, usually whenever someone calls her name or is talking about her. She appears whenever people need her, and its awfully convenient.

Shes extremely EXTREMELY animated! Despite wearing a mask, it changes according to her emotions so shes actually my most expressive oc! She has this funny thing where her hat jumps off of her head whenever shes surprised.

Very bouncy! She likes to jump around alot and only skips. Never walks. Just. Skips. Like a joyful little lad. She often uses her magic to emphasis the things she says. Think of Genie from Aladdin as an example of how he uses his magic with his dialog. Thats basically Jester!

Jester also talks very fast! Its hard to keep up what shes saying. She jumps from one topic to another, and the best example I can think of that isn’t Genie, is Pinkie pie!

Her presence accompanied with the playful chimes of her bells, Jester makes it her job to keep everyone as happy as can be! The #1 party planner at NRC! (After Kalim, of course.)

That being said, even with as reliable as she is, theres no denying she has a wicked mischevious streak!

Simultaniously both Heartslabyul's best party planner, and Heartslabyul's worst troublemaker- Jester is undeniably Riddle's biggest headache, especially with that troublesome UM of hers...

With an obvious disregard for the rules, Jester goes left and right spreading her wings of chaos as she pleases And she finds herself in a constant Cat and Mouse chase with Riddle from these shennanigans.

Despite her rebellious nature, Jester is incredibly intelligent! Secretly a magical prodigy and a genius when it comes to academics, Jester’s dislike for sitting through classes stems from the fact she probably already knows whatever topic is being discussed.

Although she is RIDICULOUSLY smart, talented and full of potential— Jester… Doesn’t care about any of that. She likes to stay in the background of things, and gets through school by keeping her grades average in order to not stand out academically, so she can do whatever she wants instead. Many of the Heartslabyul students wonder why, as rhey are well aware of how intelligent she is as she hosts dorm study sessions to help them with whatever subjects theyre struggling with.

This also ties into the fact Jester also doesn’t like to get directly involved in anything troublesome. She’d rather not put in any effort into anything, and only does the things she likes. She’ll watch the chaos from afar, and run away from any punishments for her shennanigans.

Currently tweaking and editing some aspects of her lore. But the important things you need to know is shes actually a child superstar and her real name is Arlene Adalyn! Shes first cousins with Vil, and ran away from home the year he enrolled at NRC. She enrolled a year later, and it was only halway through the semester he found out it was her. He keeps her secret, and no one knows of their connection just yet.

Jester ♡ Riddle — Enemies, But Not Really. || Despite everyone else thinking there must be bad blood between the two— thats actually not the case at all. While Riddle may scold Jester for her pranks and shennanigans, they’re actually pretty close friends! Behind closed doors, they’ve gotten a routine of hanging out whenever hes studying. While he wasn’t a big fan of this at first, he got used to it eventually. While Riddle has a lot of trouble with his developing feelings towards Jester— It was love at first sight for her! She speaks of him very highly and isnt shy about her admiration towards him, often saying hes the “Best housewarden she could ever ask for”.

Jester & Vil — Cousins! || The cousins ever!!! While no one else is aware of their relationship, they’re very close and act more like siblings than cousins! Jester likes to sneak into his room to chat, and Vil dotes on her a lot. They like to have self-care days together, and theyre totally the kind of cousins to have sleepovers and gossip the night away.

Ever since hes started coming to her for extra help on subjects hes struggling with, shes gotten rather attatched to him due to the time theyve spent together. That, and the pride that swells up in her chest when he comes running to her to show him how well he did on a test or quiz. She cant help but ruffle his hair and praise him!

Jester & The Octatrio — “H-H-HELL NAWH💥” || Although there was a time she was more indifferent towards the three— that immediately changed when Azul tried to rope her into a deal. You see, they somehow figured out what exactly her UM was, and Azul of course wanted it. She never ran out of somewhere so fast, she was dodging the twins like her life depended on it! Never again. Jester & Kalim — Besties!! || The best party planners EVER!!! When they come together, theres never a dull moment! They match eachother’s energy perfectly, and are two peas in a pod! As thick as thieves, and they’re always hanging out together! Jester also helps him up with academics whenever he needs it :3

Jester & Lillia — “Haha! Im adopting you.” “What.” || Lillia has always been amused by Jester, and likes to watch her and her shennanigans. As they’ve gotten closer, Jester always shows Lillia the new pieces of machinery shes made! Rambling about the blueprints and showing them off like a little kid proud of their crayon drawing. He finds it so cute, and has gotten rather attatched to her and her eccentric self. Hes honestly like one step away from just straight up adopting her. And honestly I dont think she’d mind—
