Dearest Friend
Tumblr media
Pairing: Spencer Reid x fem!reader Summary: Spencer feels overwhelmed after you confess something when you're tired. His solution is to, well, obviously, pretend it never happened and suffer in silence. That is, until the problem knocks on his door. Well, you, knock on his door. WC: 4.6k Warnings: Idiots in love, mentions of jemily (I love them), reader is bicurious, they don't know how to talk to each other, Spencer is obsessed with reader to the point of watching her (in a healthy way, I promise), he gets jealous, Garcia is a sweetheart but that's canon, I love the team, no use of 'y/n' A/N: I'm so frustrated! I was about to post this fic and then I lost the draft. Tumblr sometimes I hate you Masterlist
Spencer Reid often felt proud of being able to focus on his tasks. After all, that was also what had helped him through the years he spent dedicated to his education. He was quick on his feet to put his mind to whatever he had to do and today was not different; some reports needed to be done and he did it effortlessly. You, one of his coworkers, on the other hand, had a hard time focusing at some times. You felt like you always had to be moving, doing two or more things at a time. Sometimes, to him, even looking at you was overwhelming with the amount of things you tried to do at once — there was one time he saw you talking on the phone with your friend, while sketching something on your notebook and skimming through some details of the case you were working on then. Simultaneously.
One of your favorite objects to fidget with, though, was your necklace. It was a beautiful yet simple accessory: a silver necklace with a small pendant. Spencer noticed that you often had it between your fingers, rolling it, pulling a little to the side, simply holding it or adjusting to keep it out of the shirts you wore. You always had it on, no matter where you were, even if it didn't match your outfit — as he had heard you once tell Penelope. He figured that someone you love must have given it to you. And he felt so jealous.
He felt jealous because he could never give you such an amazing gift, because he felt like he could never be important enough for you to use something he had gifted you at all times. It ached. He was now being tortured for 7 months, 3 days and two hours with a small crush he had developed (or noticed he had) on his cute coworker and hadn't a single clue on how to act on it. Or how to get rid of it.
7 months, 3 days and two hours since you had given him the most beautiful smile he had ever seen in his life. And the most sincere, romantic (but, sadly, fleeting) moment of his life:
The team had been working relentlessly on a case. You were nothing but a puddle of exhaustion, tiredness almost seeping out of you, having read and translated all the journals written by the unsub. Spencer was reading your translations at breakneck speed, as he always did, because at that point you didn't trust your tired mind to come up with any more interpretations. So, after helping the best you could, you busied yourself with staring at him. It was obvious that you'd get caught, of course, sooner or later, but you didn't have the courage nor the will to pull your gaze away from him. You also didn't feel like depriving yourself from the absolute view you had. The way his hair framed his face and the way his eyes (and his hands, oh, those hands were crafted by God himself, you were sure) ran through the pages was suffocating, to say the least. He also had his glasses on, so you'd hit the jackpot that day — had you weak in your knees and didn't even know it. Silly, ignorant, wonderful boy.
You only realized that you had gotten caught when you heard the soft thud of the book being closed. "Is everything okay?" He asked, a little nervous, eyes curiously meeting yours. "I'm halfway through, don't worry,” he said, noticing how tired you looked. “I can talk to Hotch and see if you can go home to get some rest.”
You shook your head, and, then, unable to stop the words from coming out of your mouth, you answered him in a heartbeat. "You're around." Then, you gave him the sincerest and sweetest smile of all times, which got his heartbeat going ballistic. He wasn't aware of what was going on within his ribcage, but decided it would be better to cover it by reading, even if he wasn't absorbing anything, really. Not the way he was paying attention to how he was feeling towards you at that moment, anyway.
He felt curious when you reached for his hand, but he didn't dare to look away from the notebooks. With your marker, you scribbled on his palm: You've become my dearest friend.
And that feeling never really got away in the first place, which made him feel uneasy around you. He got so lost whenever you were around that he never got so close to you again, scared that you might do something to him, scared that you might try to show him whatever that was again, that he failed to notice that he had grown a little distant from you. In the middle of his daydream, he didn't notice you approaching him. What he did notice, instead, was your face closer to his than it ever was. "Reid, um, Hotchner said he wanted to talk to you." You announced, voice almost a whisper. To make sure you would be heard by him, you leaned down after placing your hands on his desk. Strangely, he looked right at the pendant of your necklace.
You didn't mean to make him uncomfortable; you purely wanted to make sure he heard you, not disturbing anyone else in the process — there weren't many people in the bullpen, but it made sense in your head nevertheless. It wasn't in your nature to want people's attention solely on you, but something about his gaze made you think twice about it for a moment.
Not having other's attention, of course. Having his attention.
Sometimes, you would have long conversations with yourself to convince yourself to enjoy his company without letting your thoughts about him go a little further. Thoughts of being something else with him, to mean something else for him. You berated yourself over and over for the lack of self-control when you had that answer ready to roll out of your lips some time ago, but you were also blessed by his gentleness of not addressing the situation. Either that, or he was a really dense man whose self-esteem needed a little raising. You still tried to talk to him, of course, but he never seemed to let your conversations go far after that moment — you tried your best to ignore it, but sometimes it made you feel like your presence was unwanted by him.
"Okay. I, um... thank you for letting me know." He answered, glancing up at your pretty face. He almost felt embarrassed for being caught in the act of staring at your necklace (or bosom, if he overthinked it), but, mostly, people were too focused on their own tasks to notice your interaction. Despite trying with all his might not to care about what others thought, he strongly wanted, seeked, even, your opinions and approval. He didn't feel embarrassed because he knew you well enough to tell you wouldn't tease him like the others would.
"Anytime." You gave him a tight-lipped smile, going back to your desk, leaving him hopeful and flustered.
He desperately wished you wouldn't.
Tumblr media
After an unusual quiet Friday mainly spent on boring reports, the BAU team decided to go out for drinks to let off some steam. You weren't the biggest enthusiast of drinking, but you enjoyed the company of your coworkers. Plus, it was fun to see them come out of their shell, you included. It was one of the few times you accepted the invitation, coming from Penelope. You had a sweet spot for her, because she was really kind to you and exceptionally welcoming towards having conversations with you. You appreciated her and made that clear whenever you could. And, deep down, you knew you had accepted the invitation because you had hopes of interacting with Spencer by having more time by his side.
Currently, what you didn't appreciate was your lack of filter. A couple drinks in, surrounded by your coworkers who thoroughly enjoyed that more honest version of you, and there goes your sense of embarrassment through the window. The current topic was... well...
"I mean, don't you ever think about it, Pen? Some women are just crazy attractive. Like, look at Emily." You gushed, looking at her. Right beside her, you saw Spencer, apparently gulping. "She is soooo hot. I'm gonna tell ya a secret,” you declared. “I spend some fair share of my time wondering if I want to be her or if I want to be under her." You revealed, sounding so candid that made everyone laugh. JJ glanced at Emily.
"Aw, thanks, baby. But I don't like them young." She chuckled, not meeting JJ's gaze. Huh.
"Your loss. We have very much to offer." You declared in a playful tone — it told everyone that it was all just friendly banter.
"We? You and boy-genius are the younglings of the team, princess." Derek took advantage of the topic to, of course, tease Spencer, who was now blushing. You looked at him, humored by Derek and waited to see his reaction.
Unlike most people, you didn't care about lack of experience in the dating field, let alone if it was Spencer. You thought it was almost sweet, how a grown-up man hadn't had the time to get used to all the sex talk between other grown-ups that happened casually. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he was always far more concerned about his family and education and didn't have much time to go on many practices of said subject. You both were alike in that aspect, even if you've had your share of encounters.
Spencer didn't know how to react, so he chose to do what he does best: ramble. "Actually, younger individuals often report higher levels of sexual desire, influenced by higher testosterone levels and fewer health-related problems." He said, earning your attention. Looking at him, you giggled, because he was proving your point with scientifically accurate data. Adorable. "Older adults, though, may experience a decline in libido due to hormonal changes, medical conditions, or medication side effects. However, many older adults still have active and fulfilling sex lives, and some studies suggest that sexual satisfaction can remain stable or even improve with age, depending on emotional and relational factors. But, generally, sex drive can change with age due to various factors, including hormonal changes, health status, and psychological factors."
Even if his rambling often annoyed people, he was now glad for his ability to spill facts like an encyclopedia. If they knew about the thoughts running through his head after your playful banter with Emily, he would be dead. The thought of you having very much to offer was making him feel a little funny, to say the least.
"Thank you, Spencer," you breathed out, unable to speak anything, because your head was filled with thoughts of someone that wasn't Emily. Oh, definitely not Emily. Looking away from him, you gulped the rest of your drink, trying to disguise the obvious something by making another joke. "And, yeah, that's it. When you're done being prejudiced, Ems, you know where to find me," you gave her an exaggerated, ridiculous wink and she rolled her eyes playfully. "I'll be at the bar." And then, left, almost if someone was chasing you.
Maybe it was true.
"Wow. I didn't imagine princess over there to be so unrestrained," Derek said, laughing.
"She appeared to be shy when we first met." Spencer added, not wanting to be out of a conversation that involved you. "She still is, actually. Maybe it's the alcohol. It can make someone feel more relaxed and sociable due to its effects on the brain. It lowers inhibitions by impacting neurotransmitters, which promotes relaxation, and reduces the activity of the prefrontal cortex, the area responsible for self-control and decision-making." He said, unable to turn off his computer brain, still desperately trying to hide how he was actually feeling.
Garcia shook her head, laughing. "Yeah, boy-genius. She basically turns into someone else when she's a little tipsy."
"Okay, but we all know to whom she wants to offer something." JJ breathed out a laugh, looking right at Spencer. Derek promptly joined her banter, clinking their glasses in agreement.
Spencer quickly dismissed them, worried about you instead of being upset that he was, once again, the butt of the joke. Well, one of the parts. "Hey! You can't say things like that about her." He stuttered, tone a little high-pitched, but willing to get his point across. He could tolerate the jokes and the suggestive looks he got from his coworkers, but not disrespect, especially towards you.
"Come on, kid, take it easy. It's just a joke." Emily replied, looking at him once again.
"And, to be fair, it's pretty clear that she has another target." Emily said, grinning. She leaned towards JJ, who only watched the interaction and laughed every now and then.
Spencer tried not to let his thoughts wander too far. From where he was sitting, he could see you waiting for your drink, leaning a bit into the bar counter. Seemingly out of nowhere, a man approached you and you turned to him with a big and surprised smile, quickly engulfed by his arms. Oh. His mind started to go on a spiral of negative, self-conscious thoughts.
Did you know him? How? What if he was your boyfriend that no one knew about? Was he good to you? What did you see in him? If you were in a relationship, he now had a reason to avoid thinking of you altogether, because even if you were out of his league, it never stopped him from thinking about you in a different way, but if you actually had someone, it changed a lot. If it wasn't the case, he was still as hopeless as ever, a million scenarios playing in his head: you talking to that man, liking him enough to keep in touch, going on dates, eventually becoming something more. Not one of the scenarios involved him.
Well, if watching from the sidelines as you kept your life going as he longed for you involved him, then, yes, sure.
Deciding that torture was not getting him anywhere, he quickly drew his eyes away from that direction, not even realizing you had left the bar. When he came back to his senses, you were back. A gleeful glint in your eyes. "Who was that, sugar?" Penelope asked. Thank goodness for her. Or curse her. Spencer didn't know which one to think yet.
"Just a friend from college. We were both TAs during the same time, so, you know... Office hours were also bonding hours." You said, sitting back down, next to Spencer, fiddling with the straw on your drink.
"Just friends?" Emily teased you. Spencer was looking at his glass like it was something much more interesting than finding out about you.
It most certainly wasn't, but he was afraid of the way he would feel, or react, to the answers you'd provide.
Maybe that was the whole reason why he's been avoiding talking to you after his sudden realization. What if he actually let you in and this crush (that already felt a little too overwhelming at times) developed into something much more?
"Yes," you answered. She sent you a questioning look. You laughed. "Yeah, okay. I kinda... liked him," you chuckled. Spencer's stomach dropped and he looked right at you. You looked back at him, but quickly looked down, bashful. "But I had no idea of how to talk to him, so I mostly talked about school in general. We'd also walk home together when it got too late, sometimes. Oh, and he was also in a relationship with another girl, so there was that." You finished. You were trying to look at everyone while you spoke, but you found it incredibly hard from how intensely Spencer was looking at you. You had your fidget toy of a pendant in your hands. He sighed quietly.
"His loss, princess." Derek chimed in, looking at a girl that was checking him out earlier. You chuckled.
Tumblr media
Spencer didn't mean to eavesdrop, but, oh, well. It happens to the best of us. "Yeah, he gave me his number. I'm really glad because I remember that I genuinely enjoyed spending time with him," you said, sounding sincere. He instantly thought of the guy from the bar.
"Ooh, that's nice, princess!" Penelope answered. "Are you planning on calling him?"
You looked down at your coffee, thinking. "I might, yes." And that was enough to fill his brain with images of you having a good time with someone that wasn't him. And he didn't like it one bit, but it wasn't a option to tell you how he felt. He felt delusional for reading so much into that single moment that you shared a few weeks ago.
He couldn't focus on anything else that day. Hotch had to check on him.
Tumblr media
After working the courage needed to call your friend, you ended up being invited over to his apartment to catch up with him and what he was up to lately. You didn't have hard feelings (or any, by the way) over what had happened in the past, but you were scared that he might still see you as a lovesick college girl, so that's why you took a little longer than necessary to reach out for him. He didn't, though. And you were so grateful for that.
"Good morning, princess! You seem happy today," Garcia commented after seeing you enter the bullpen with a bright ‘good morning, guys’ rolling off your tongue. You smiled at her. She was leaning on Spencer's desk, right next to the genius, while they shared a conversation with Derek.
Spencer was getting ready to say something when you appeared, so he shut his mouth. You looked exceptionally good that morning. Shit. "Oh, yes! I had good company yesterday," you answered genuinely, but your face fell after their expressions changed, suggesting you were doing something else.
"Oh, did our lovergirl finally get some action?" Derek laughed as you finally reached them.
Your cheeks reddened, embarrassed. "No, Derek," you pushed him playfully with a shy chuckle, "I called my friend, the one from that night at that bar. I went to his apartment to catch up. I was really happy to see an old friend."
"I like seeing old friends," Spencer blurted out, catching everyone's attention, including yours. To be honest, he didn't even think through what he was going to say, but he couldn't deal with the nagging feeling of you talking about spending your night with somebody else. "I, uh, it's great to see old friends who truly know you, that must have made you feel really comfortable. It's nice to see them."
You gave him another sincere smile and his heart nearly stopped beating. He was so thrilled by your reaction that he didn't even have the time to feel embarrassed for butting in your conversation. "Yeah, it is, Spencer," you agreed. "To be honest, I mostly spoke about you guys, since we basically live together now," you chuckled, "and he said that he was happy to know that I found another family." You finished, rolling the pendant of your necklace between your fingers.
"Aw, you're a cutie." Garcia gushed.
"Don't go all soft on me, lovergirl." Derek teased.
"Well, it's true." You simply answered, now standing next to Garcia, basically sitting on Spencer's desk. He desperately wished you'd stay there all day long for him to watch you. In a totally healthy way, of course.
Tumblr media
The next week came to an end sooner than you expected, plently of work to do and you were exhausted. You were tidying up your desk when you heard Morgan. "Hey, princess, you're leavin'?” He asked you. Sometimes he gave you a ride to your apartment, but you were going over to your friend's apartment again to watch some movies.
"Sorry, Derek, I already have plans." You declined, politely as ever.
"Alright. Have a fun time with your college boyfriend!" Before you could answer, he dashed out to the elevator, where Garcia was probably waiting for him. You rolled your eyes at his antics, but smiled to yourself either way.
What you failed to notice was that Spencer was there with you. "Oh, hi, Spencer. Didn't know you were still here," you gave him a small smile.
"Hi! I was just leaving," he answered, quietly.
Truth was, he felt undeniably defeated by the thoughts of you and said 'boyfriend' plaguing his head; Morgan's comment only rubbed salt in the wound. Sensing that something might be wrong judging by his tone, you stretched your hand out to him. "Come on. It was one of those weeks." He took your hand in his like it was second nature.
Neither of you seemed to remember — or care — about his germophobia. Holding his hand, you both walked to the elevator. His mind got a little quieter with your touch, like nothing else mattered. "So, um, how's your relationship going?" He asked, out of the blue. He instantly regretted it; knowing about it would make his skin crawl, but he asked in hopes that it wasn't like that and that you actually meant what you told them about the guy being just a friend.
You shoulders shook with laughter. His heart felt warm. "So you heard and believed in Morgan," you mocked him a little. "It's not a relationship. We're just friends finding comfort in each other because we knew ourselves in times when things were a lot simpler. It's kinda nostalgic." You stated. The last thing you wanted was for him to think you were in a relationship.
Even if you felt like he was out of your league, you'd still leave all your doors open.
Spencer felt like he was taking a gulp of fresh air for the first time in forever. To hear you, the person who unknowingly (and probably unwillingly) held his heart in her hands, was not dedicating her own to someone else, was exhilarating. He tried to bite back a smile, ultimately failing. "Oh, I see." He answered, voice nearly cracking. "I'm glad you have that." He couldn't say anything else because the comfort he felt wasn't enough to pour his heart out to you.
As you entered the elevator, it felt like it was the first time your profiling skills worked on him, your judgment no longer clouded by your feelings for him. The moments you shared lately, the comfort of holding his hand (he had not let go of yours yet), the satisfied expression never leaving his face once you revealed the nature of your relationship with your friend... It all clicked. But you were terrified of rejection, so you swallowed down your feelings for him, like you've been doing for what it seemed like forever.
If only eyes could speak.
Tumblr media
"Did you know that I had feelings for you back then?" You saw the color leave your friend's face, so you laughed a little. "No, I don't see you like that anymore! I just, well... Do you think you could help me? I'd, uh, I'd like some advice." You saw him relax and take a sip of his tea.
"About Spencer?"
"How did you know?"
"When you talk about him, you're always a little too passionate," he revealed.
"So...?"
"You didn't change much, you know? You're still the same nerd from all those years ago — not that is a bad thing, don't get me wrong," he grinned when you scoffed, "but you need to be a little more obvious. More explicit. To the point.”
"We're friends. I'd hate to lose him," you confessed. "But it all got so weird after I said something little, but stupid,” you sighed. A pause. A sip of wine. “It was the kind of thing that's meaningful if you dig into it, you know? He didn't talk about it, but it feels like he shut me out for a moment. I keep thinking about it and I miss him so much, even as a friend.”
"Have you actually talked about it with him? You know, to him?" He asked. You froze. “People can't read each other's minds. You are friends, of course, but the environment you usually share suggests otherwise,” he argued, “So, is it better to speak or to die?”
Then, it clicked. Again. The moments you two shared, despite not being blatantly explicit, told you that he had, that he must have, a spot on his heart for you. When you held his hand and he not only allowed you to, he didn't let go of you either. Those longing, stolen glances that you pretended not to notice when you were doing the most ordinary things. The willingness to listen to your rambles about mundane topics — you were sure the genius wasn't even interested in pop culture or whatever happened to a random celebrity that week.
"Sorry, I… I have somewhere to be."
Tumblr media
Out of breath, disheveled form, messy hair and feeling like all the oxygen on Earth couldn't possibly be enough for you from running the five blocks to your friend's apartment, to Spencer's, you knocked on his door — soft thuds, a rhythm that you often performed as you tapped your fingers on your desk, for example. He knew immediately that it was you.
Spencer opened the door, surprised, confused and, most of all, happy to see you. “Hi. Are you okay?” He inquired.
That question was all it took to make the barrel holding your tongue go to hell. “I'm in love with you. Oh, God. I-I didn't mean to be so unrestrained and I know that I look insane right now, but... Um. You have no idea, Spence,” you breathed out. “You have no idea what it's like to wake up and immediately think of you. What it's like to leave work and be sad over it because it means that I no longer get to see you on that day. Do you know how insane it is to feel sad because you're leaving work?” You laughed, sounding like a maniac. “There's so much I want to say to you and I feel that I'm always running out of time when it comes to you, because you're always a step ahead of me, hell, you're always a step ahead of everyone,” you joked, trying to make the situation lighter. He looked dumbfounded, only looking at your face, incapable of saying anything else. You took it as your opportunity to get everything off your chest. “And it makes me crazy because I want to know all about you and what you're thinking about because that's how love works, I guess. At least I think it's like that because I think about you all the time and I worry about you and I want you to like me as much as I do you. You have no idea, Spencer.”
He stood there, speechless. The elevator door opened and a couple walked out of it. His apartment complex only had two apartments per floor, door to door. You totally forgot how to function after rambling about your love for the doctor (with, perhaps, an audience), but you had a mind of not occupying the space they needed to get to their door. So you scooted over to the nearest wall, adjacent to Spencer's door — it was so awkward. The couple greeted you both with small smiles and then entered their own apartment. Looking back at Spencer, he was glancing straight ahead, at the couples’ apartment door. You sighed, defeated, beggining to feel uncomfortable with his silence.
“I came here because I took some stupid advice on telling you how I feel,” you said, voice quiet as an effort to make yourself so small that you'd disappear and never remember this situation ever again. Holding tight to the pendant. “I wanted you to know because you deserve it, Spencer. To have someone... who does know you and loves you the same.” You added, softly, having enough courage to look him in the eye, now that you had his attention back. “I know you, right here and right now. And if there's more, that's even better.”
He blinked. Once. Twice. Almost owlishly. You stood there, not knowing where this was going. You opened your mouth and looked away from him, ready to apologize, to tell him to forget all about it and dash from the building. When you did so, he pulled you in for a kiss: it was messy, teeth clashing, because you weren't expecting it and he almost missed your lips. When you realized what you were both doing, you placed your hands tentatively on the back of his head while he found his on your waist.
“I have so much to tell you.” He said. Relief flooding his body, love crashing into him like a tidal wave, warmth spreading on his chest. Pulling away from you just to look you in the eye with the most serene and loving and sincere expression. Holding your pendant between your fingers, he finished, "I'd like to start by telling you that you are and always have been my dearest friend. And that I have given you a free hand to my heart from the day we met. I was already doomed then.”
His eyes held truth enough for you to know that he also loved you.
Tumblr media
Aaaand... that's it! I hope you enjoy it, my darlings! Let me know if there are any mistakes, please.
Feedbacks are highly appreciated <3

4th Succession War campaign report 2
Game 2 I ran last Friday, a smash & grab mission
Tumblr media
Map: "Forward Base" (Grasslands B battlemat) Time limit: 10 turns from base alert. Primary Objective: 300wp Retrieve EWS schematics Secondary: Sabotage facility operations Secrets: Raven plans, Personnel rosters
Intro: Interrogation of the captured Liao pilot from Game 1 revealed the location of a FOB where Ravens are being stored and maintained. Liao officers are operating out of here and often link up with local Emerald Dawn forces for field operations.
Tumblr media
Goals: Hack the databases (marked in Red on the scan) and find the plans for the Electronic Warfare equipment in one of them (chosen at random). Download it, and escape back East. Beyond that, the Mercs will be paid for every database destroyed and every building collapsed.
Database contents (revealed on scan) 1: Directory (Instant, identify all DBs to players) 2: Personnel rosters* (Scan again to download) 3: Turret access** (Shutoff: first scan. Reverse IFF: 2nd scan.) 4: Jackpot (Jammer + Raven schematics***, 1 turn DL) 5: Backup database (any of the above but 2x longer to activate)
*Personnel Rosters contain ranks, performance reports, and evaluations of pilots. One of the more skilled pilots has a review marked "lacking patriotic fervor" and is scheduled for reeducation. The rosters can be turned in to the Davions postgame for extra money, or pursued by the mercs to hire a veteran 3/4 pilot at a discount.
**Turrets are Immobile Targets 15CF and 1 Medium Laser. They are untargetable while closed until the players walk into laser range, then they open and fire. Start the turn timer when this happens.
***The Jammer schematics were part of a larger file, the complete Raven-3X schematics. Raven plans are only revealed after the Jammer has finished downloading. The players may be scanning the Jammer under fire already so they will have to weigh whether they want to stand still for the next turn to get this and be shot at with no evasive modifiers.
Once the base is alerted, Ravens of various models (starting with a RVN-3X) will exit the large building in the west every 2-3 turns continually raising the pressure on the mercs.
A player mech within 3 hexes of a EW-equipped Raven cannot scan, though a mech with Improved Communications is only jammed at 2 hexes. You also cannot scan through fortress walls.
Optional Rules: Starting fires, incendiary ballistic ammo (half the damage is turned into heat, and counts as a laser for fire ignition chance), inferno missiles, Anti-TSM gas missiles
House Rule: Do not pay level-change MP when following a ramp.
The players' results:
Op. FOGHORN results: Primary objective: ✅ Jammer plans secured
Secondaries: 3/5 databases destroyed 2/5 buildings destroyed
Secret Tertiary: ✅ Full RVN-3X plans secured
Bonus objectives: -Personnel files acquired -1 pilot captured
-2 mech kills (no payment for kills via current contract but enthusiasm noted on Mercenary board review)
❌ Mission timer exceeded: departing Leopard dropship detected by House Liao reinforcements
Tumblr media
The record sheets
How it went down:
The players got really lucky. The Directory came up early so they knew where to look for everything, and the Primary Objective ended up being in the secluded South-East building, where a mech jumped into the tiny corner hex behind it and scanned everything in complete safety. They also popped the first RVN-3X out of the base RIGHT quick with focused fire stripping armor and gas missiles following up, and the #2 Raven after it was taken out by a crazy TAC+Ammo Det on the second hit.
A merc also lucked out after taking two head hits, rolling no head crit, then having ~15 SRMs connect over the next 2 turns without any head hits (any one of which would've killed them).
Despite all the SRMs flying around, the one mech carrying a Lostech AMS only had it trigger one time, which I found funny.
Ravens 3 and 4 survived to the end of the match chasing the mercs out of the base after they'd sacked half of it. Players chose to bring Gas missiles to deal with jammer Ravens, but had no Infernos or Incendiary ammo and did not start that many fires as a result, which hampered base destruction efforts.
3 mercs escaped with various juicy stolen data among them, but the last one was juuuuuust barely 1 hex too slow to escape within the time limit. I would have said they were captured, but it was so close I decided to change plans...
The postgame choices:
-Personnel files used, veteran pilot to pick up from a hiring hall later.
The escaping Mercs have been detected and their Leopard dropship is being tailed! House Davion said they hired you as a deniable asset since they were unwilling to be seen with their fingers in the pie on this particular planet and would not take kindly to being revealed as your employer... But a detour will mean missing the scheduled jump out of system.
Will the Mercs keep the rendezvous with their employer, escaping the system but breaching opsec in the process? Or stay in-system, hide and likely fight on the dark side of the moon, for free since they're still on the same contract?
The players decided to try and lose the tail on the dark side of the moon to maintain their contract's integrity. Tune in next time for episode 3: Lunar Battle!

Lynne Reid Banks, who has died aged 94, hit a jackpot with her first book, The L-Shaped Room (1960), the story of an unmarried middle-class girl, Jane Graham, who takes a dingy room in London to hide her unwanted pregnancy. The novel was a cracking read that caught the cusp of a momentous change in social attitudes. Its profile rose even higher when it became a film in 1962, with Leslie Caron playing its heroine. It sold in its millions and never went out of print.
This success was both a blessing and curse for Reid Banks. In the decades that followed, she published nine further novels (two of them sequels to The L-Shaped Room), two award-winning volumes of biographical fiction on the lives of the Brontës, two books about Israel and numerous books for younger readers. But nothing she wrote ever matched the acclaim for The L-Shaped Room.
Reid Banks was a dramatic and dynamic woman who lived her life with gusto. If the slights of the literary world sometimes hurt her, they never quenched the energy and passion she brought to her work. Stories flowed effortlessly from her pen, characterised by lively dialogue, well-crafted plots and compulsive readability.
The Indian in the Cupboard (1980), a children’s book she wrote for and dedicated to her youngest son, Omri, came closest to her first success, in sales, translation into 20 languages and transformation into a Hollywood film in 1995. That pleased her. But in the same year, she expressed outrage that her longstanding publishers had turned down her latest adult novel. She nevertheless found another publisher and received considerable praise for Fair Exchange (1998), a book she dedicated to her friend Norma Kitson, whose remarkable struggle against apartheid in South Africa infuses its story.
Lynne was born in Barnes, London, the only child of a Scottish doctor, James Reid Banks, and an Irish actor, Muriel (nee Marsh, who went by the stage name Muriel Alexander), and began her education at a Catholic boarding school. At the start of the second world war, aged 10, she travelled with her mother and a cousin to Canada, which she thoroughly enjoyed. On her return to London, she went to Rada, and thence began acting in provincial rep, like the heroine of The L-Shaped Room.
It was during this period that she met and enraged the young John Osborne, whose first wife, the actor Pamela Lane, was her close friend. Osborne’s letters revealed not only his dislike of her, but the probability that she inspired one of the main characters in his own first success, Look Back in Anger.
A combative streak in Reid Banks got her into spats all her life. But she was no less forthright in her judgments of herself than of others. She did not hesitate to call herself a failed actress, failed playwright (of several plays) and failed television reporter, before her true career took off.
In the doldrums, she began writing freelance journalism, and when she went to interview the head of the embryonic ITN for the Radio Times, she also talked him into employing her. She thereby became one of the first two female reporters on television in 1955. This did not satisfy her for long, however, as (she claimed) they only gave her “the rubbish” to do. When she complained, they put her into a cubbyhole and set her to work writing scripts.
Bored stiff, she began using ITN’s stationery supplies and time to start work on her first novel. She later recalled how the newsreader Reginald Bosanquet would read a page off her typewriter in mocking amusement. But the laugh was on Reggie when the Evening Standard later ran the headline: “ITN girl sells film script for £25,000.” The real sum for The L-Shaped Room was £20,000, but that was still princely in those days.
She was not happy with the film, which changed the book’s story. It was a hit, but it took her 30 years to forgive the director, Bryan Forbes. It also infuriated her that people assumed she had written of single motherhood from personal experience, rather than imagination. Although on the crest of a wave of fame, money and success, Reid Banks left the country and did not return for a decade.
She had met the man whom in 1965 she was to marry, the Israeli sculptor Chaim Stephenson, while he was visiting Britain. She was not Jewish, but she went out to Israel and loved it, becoming an Israeli citizen. The couple lived on a kibbutz near the Sea of Galilee, and their three sons were born there.
It surprised but delighted her, soon after her arrival in Israel, to be asked to leave her hot, tiring work in the vineyards to teach English to a class of children. She threw herself into this new occupation with zeal, relishing the chance to use her acting skills, and achieved outstanding results.
But as the years went by, she missed Britain, and in the early 1970s she came back, the family settling uncomfortably at first in the London suburbs, but later living happily in a farmhouse in Beaminster, Dorset, and later still settling in Shepperton in Surrey. Her output of books for children continued (she produced many sequels and series), and she travelled, gardened and wrote for newspapers.
Chaim died in 2016. Reid Banks is survived by her sons, Adiel, Gillon and Omri, and her grandchildren, Daniel, David and Paloma.

How to Debate a Republican
You don't.
Debate is a discussion where opposing arguments are laid out. Republicans don't debate anything.
They can't state what their beliefs are because the second they reveal who they hate, how much, and why they've lost the moral high ground and they risk getting kicked off whatever platform this is taking place on. Additionally all their other beliefs, that aren't based entirely on bigotry, are just bull shit that they go back on the second it's convenient for them. They can't bring up anything without getting a dozen examples of their party doing the opposite getting thrown in their faces.
So what is happening when you start arguing with one? They change the subject.
Repeatedly.
Endlessly.
They'll level personal attacks at you. They'll have an unending list of things to distract you with. "What about Hillary? What about Obama? What about gay frogs? What about pizza place demonic sex ring? What about Hunter?" They'll do everything in their power to change the subject to something they think they can win or drag you into a name calling screaming match. And if you clap back against what they're pushing they'll just change the subject again until they find a subject or incident that you're not strong on. So don't fall for it the first time thinking you'll get them on what they're trying to deflect to. They'll just deflect again. They don't give a shit.
The last thing they want is for you to stay on topic. Every single word they use is a conscious effort to distract you. STAY ON TOPIC! Throw in their faces pictures, studies, clips of what their own media and politicians have said. And, while doing so, constantly mock their attempts to change the subject.
Eventually they'll come up with an excuse as to why they've won anyway and run away.
You can't win an argument against someone who doesn't care about facts. All you can do is make them crawl back under their rocks hissing and spitting when it's obvious their ploys aren't working on you and you're making them look like the goose stepping idiots they are.
Or you can hit the jackpot and they snap! Going into a racist tirade. You then screen shot it, post it all over social media, and then report them. If you're on anything but Twitter chances are they're gonna get banned and you've successfully limited how much bull shit they can spread. But screen shot it first because they're likely to delete the whole conversation when they realize they said the quiet part out loud.

I think defenders also have to cover for each other if one is out of position and so on which will in turn pull them out of position and so on. As you said, it's a team effort since it's a team sport. In contrast, I really couldn't care less about what journalists write about individual performances because I have yet to find a single good reporter in german. It's like an opinion piece in a newspaper. They don't even back it up with much facts which I personally prefer. But to each their own.
I think it's to some extent relevant to discuss the DFB goalkeeping coach and be worried about the future. Doesn't even have anything to do with Ann. Same for the coaching staff in total because they haven't convinced me in a single match so far and I refuse to believe that you can't get more out of these players.
Yes. But even if the defenders cover each other, they have to be careful not to create too much space. I don't read criticism from journalists anyway, because everyone has a different opinion and you can't please everyone. And about Wück and his staff - non of them is a jackpot.

Behind the Scenes: Planning the IPL 2025 Schedule
Every year, when the Indian Premier League (IPL) returns, it takes over stadiums, TV screens, and fantasy leagues across the country. But what most fans don’t see is the enormous planning that goes into creating the IPL 2025 schedule. Behind every match, every time slot, and every venue is a well-thought-out strategy.
In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at how the ipl schedule is made, what factors go into setting match dates, and how this inside info can help you win big—especially if you’re chasing high fantasy points like those earned from the fastest 100.
🎬 What Goes into Planning the IPL 2025 Schedule?
Creating the ipl 2025 full schedule is like solving a giant puzzle. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has to coordinate with:
Stadium availability across cities
Weather forecasts (especially in April-May)
Travel time between venues
Security arrangements during elections or festivals
International cricket schedules
TV broadcast timing for maximum reach
Each of the 10 IPL teams plays 14 matches—7 at home and 7 away. But arranging this is not as simple as taking turns. The ipl match schedule must balance fairness, avoid too much travel for teams, and also give broadcasters high-profile matches at prime time.
📅 A Quick Look at the IPL 2025 Full Schedule
This season started on March 23, 2025, and the final is set for May 29, 2025. Across these two months, there are 74 matches, including group-stage games, qualifiers, eliminators, and the final.
Want to stay up to date with ipl all matches dates? Keep an eye on match blogs and updates from fantasy platforms like Vision11. One good example is their preview of Match 62 between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans. 👉 Check out DC vs GT Match Prediction & Fantasy Tips
🧠 How Knowing the IPL Schedule Helps in Fantasy Cricket
If you're playing fantasy cricket seriously, the ipl 2025 schedule can be your best tool. Here’s how:
1. Plan Teams in Advance
You’ll know which players to select based on the venue, opposition, and form. For instance, if a batter is playing at a small ground like Chinnaswamy or Wankhede, there’s a better chance of a high score—or even the fastest 100.
2. Manage Player Rotation
Some teams play back-to-back games. Players might be rested, and if you’re unaware, you could end up with a non-playing member in your fantasy team.
3. Track Weather & Pitch Conditions
By keeping up with the ipl all matches dates, you can check weather updates in advance. Rain-affected games often reduce overs and fantasy potential, so knowing which games might be risky is helpful.
💥 The Fastest 100: Your Fantasy Jackpot
In IPL fantasy cricket, one of the best ways to grab big points is by picking the player who scores the fastest 100. It's rare, but when it happens, you get a huge point boost.
Here’s how to spot a potential fastest 100:
Flat pitch + Small boundary = Best chance
In-form aggressive batter = High risk, high reward
Weaker bowling attack = Bonus opportunity
By checking the ipl match schedule, you can predict which matches are likely to be high-scoring. Matches in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata usually give batters a great platform.
In Match 62 (Delhi vs Gujarat), the pitch report favored batters, and fantasy experts suggested picking top-order strikers. You can read the full analysis here: 👉 DC vs GT – Match Preview & Fantasy Insights
🏏 How BCCI Balances Big Matches in the IPL Schedule
Not all matches in the ipl 2025 full schedule are equal. Some are marquee clashes—like MI vs CSK or RCB vs KKR. These matches are strategically placed during weekends and evenings for max viewership.
But here’s the trick for fantasy players: Big matches mean big crowds and more pressure. Players who usually perform in calm situations may underperform. So you might want to choose aggressive batters for easy fixtures instead—these are your fastest 100 chances!
🧩 Behind the Final Weeks: Playoff Calculations
As the league progresses, teams start calculating Net Run Rates and win margins. This affects how aggressively they play. You might see a batter going for a quick century to improve the team’s NRR.
Use the ipl match schedule in the final weeks to predict such breakout performances. Keep tabs on the standings and motivation of teams.
📊 How to Use the IPL All Matches Dates to Win Big
Let’s say you're preparing for Week 7 of the tournament. Here’s what you should do:
Day
Action
Monday
Review the week's matches using the ipl 2025 full schedule
Tuesday
Identify high-scoring venues
Wednesday
Watch for weather updates
Thursday
Track any international player exits
Friday
Finalize your captain (pick a top-order batter)
Saturday & Sunday
Join mega contests and stay active during toss updates
🎯 Final Thoughts
The IPL 2025 schedule isn't just for fans—it’s a fantasy goldmine for those who know how to use it. Understanding how the ipl match schedule is planned, keeping track of ipl all matches dates, and preparing for each match day can put you miles ahead of other fantasy players.
And remember—big wins often come from bold picks. So when you're eyeing the fastest 100, check the match venue, form of the batter, and pitch report. Use expert guidance from fantasy platforms like Vision11 to make better calls.
Start here: 👉 Read Vision11’s Match 62 Fantasy Preview
Plan smart, play smart, and let the ipl 2025 schedule guide your way to fantasy cricket glory!

Sport mega jackpot prediction,
Sport mega jackpot prediction,
Sports betting enthusiasts often find themselves eyeing the big prize: the sport mega jackpot. These jackpots, offering huge cash prizes, attract players from all over the world, hoping to turn their predictions into life-changing winnings. But how do you make accurate predictions to increase your chances of winning?
In this article, we'll dive into the strategies and tips for boosting your odds in sport mega jackpot predictions.
Understanding the Sport Mega Jackpot A sport mega jackpot usually involves selecting the outcomes of several games or matches. You may be required to predict the winners, the scorelines, or even specific events like goals, assists, or penalties. These jackpots often cover various sports, including football, basketball, tennis, and more, giving you numerous opportunities to place your predictions.
Study the Form of Teams or Athletes One of the most crucial factors in predicting outcomes is understanding the current form of the teams or athletes involved. Check their performance over the last few games, injury reports, and head-to-head statistics. A team on a winning streak is more likely to perform well, while a team struggling with injuries or poor form may be at a disadvantage.
Consider Home and Away Factors Home advantage plays a significant role in many sports. Teams playing at home tend to perform better due to the support of local fans and familiarity with the environment. However, away teams can sometimes surprise, especially if the home team is underperforming. Always factor in the home and away aspect when making your predictions.
Analyze Head-to-Head Statistics Looking at the historical performance between two teams can give you valuable insights. Some teams have a psychological edge over others, and previous matchups may suggest which team tends to dominate. Head-to-head statistics can also reveal trends, such as one team consistently beating the other by a significant margin.

Tumblr media
SANTA BARBARA, ILOILO -- The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) commenced 2025 with a series of fortunate events, as four (4) individuals clinched jackpot prizes in the first week of the year. This streak of luck coincided with the transition of the PCSO Lottery Draw's broadcast from the state-media broadcaster PTV-4 to IBC-13 and D8TV, effective December 31st, 2024. As merely recalled that the final PCSO Lottery Draw broadcast on PTV-4 aired on Monday night (December 30th, 2024). The program transitioned to its new platform on IBC-13 the following evening, per reports by CETV Philippines.
On December 31st, two (2) winners shared the Lotto 6/42 jackpot of PHP25,351,115.00 (approximately U$D433,597). The winning numbers are 27, 26, 9, 41, 19, and 20 were matched by tickets purchased in 'Naga, Camarines Sur' and 'Lucena, Quezon Province'. The winners have been identified as 'Aurea B. Cavallo' and 'Estela A. Olivares'.
The inaugural draw on IBC-13 and D8TV on January 1st, 2025, proved auspicious for 'Harold C. Sy' of 'Quezon City, Metro Manila'. The following day on January 2nd, witnessed another win as 'Francis Joseph P. Bernas' from 'Sta. Barbara, Iloilo City' claimed the Super Lotto 6/49 jackpot of PHP18,445,722.00 (approximately U$D315,489.46) by selecting the numbers 19, 48, 15, 11, 7 and 24.
Subsequent draws on January 3rd and 4th respectively, saw no jackpot winners. The Grand Lotto 6/55, Lotto 6/42, Mega Lotto 6/45, Ultra Lotto 6/58 and Lotto 6/42 draws all had no winners during these dates.
The biggest transition of the PCSO Lottery Draws (PCSO) to its different state-media broadcaster 'Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation' channel 13 and DWKC-TV 31.7's D8TV (in Mega Manila) is intended to broaden its reach, allowing more Filipinos to participate in at home to watch LIVE drawings on television -- pairing in with your lottery ticket. Viewers can tune in via digital TV, which syndicated nationwide on free radio, including flagship AM station in lotto draw over DWAN 1206khz AM (also in Mega Manila), as well as official livestreams on their social media streaming platforms.
To claim your prize, winners need to sign at the back of their lottery ticket and proceed in person to the PCSO Main Office located at 'Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, National Capital Region'. Winners must have to come forward to claim their prizes, and is valid for one (1) year from the lotto drawing date; but any unclaimed funds will be directly allocated to PCSO's charity fund projects.
The successful transition to IBC-13, BEAM's D8TV, and DWAN 1206khz AM, combining with the immediate jackpot wins in the Luzon and Visayas regions, demonstrates PCSO's commitment to improve its services and reaching a larger audience with a fair, accurate and responsible gaming, resulting in increased public participation in its lottery games. Date Night (?) Part 3
This street, apparently, was where most of the game stalls had been placed.  Some food called out with alluring smells, but neither of the men were particularly hungry after having engorged themselves on the treats on the last street, and the smells were far less empowering than the sounds of laughter and play.
“Jackpot!” Hikaze exclaimed.  “Alright, now we can really start having fun!”
Anastasios rolled his eyes.  He acted like the last hour and a half had been such a slog.
“C’mon Stasi!” Hikaze said, smoothly entwining his hand with his.  “Let’s see who can win more!”
Anastasios couldn’t help but chuckle.  “You know half of these are rigged, right?” he pointed out, knowing that wasn't about to deter him.
“Against us?  That's hardly even a handicap,” Hikaze retorted.  Kazuya and Esaias had swept stalls at festivals in Kanto more than once, and the Ofthalmós eyes offered them a more than sufficient advantage.  Anastasios matched his grin, equally as eager for their upcoming competition.  “Same rules as always?”
“I have no idea what you're talking about,” Anastasios said despite the nostalgic smile on his face.
“You brat, when are you gonna quit that?” Hikaze asked with an exasperated smile.  “The secret’s already out, and it's just the two of us.”
“It’s the principle,” Anastasios replied.
Hikaze rolled his eyes but couldn't suppress the smile on his face.  “Okay, so, to make it fair, we both gotta know how it’s rigged, but we each deal with it our own ways.  If something can or can’t be done, you have to tell me, but I can't ask you for direction.”  Those were the rules he and Esaias had played by, and it'd always worked out well for both of them.  Esaias still won most often, but Kazuya occasionally slipped by him with skill and speed.  But both of them won more than the stall owners, and that was what was the most fun.
“Sounds fair to me,” Anastasios replied with a grin.  “Now, who should our first victim be?”
“The pull lottery?” Hikaze offered, motioning to stall behind them with an abundance of ropes hanging from the ceiling.
“You want to crush the best one first?  Come on,” Anastasios jokingly chided.  “I personally think we should get them last.  It'll be way more fun.”
“But what if we forget, or we get bored?  Come on, let's get the best one done first,” Hikaze tempted.  “It’ll be a good warm up too.”  Anastasios didn't need much convincing- either way, it'd be a fun time.  After all, the pull lotteries were the only ones they worked together on.  No skill on anyone’s end could help with those, so those never counted as part of their competition since they relied solely on the Ofthalmós eyes.
“Fine, fine,” Anastasios laughed.  “Might as well put some wind in our sails.  Why don't we find out if my eyes are better than Esaias’?”
Hikaze couldn't help but laugh.  Anastasios being this cocky reminded him so much of Esaias before a performance.  He acted so professional, but underneath it all, he had an unshakeable ego and loved using his skills to humble liars and swindlers.  The fact that this was a side he let out almost exclusively with Hikaze only served to get the boy even more riled up.
The two made their way over to the stall and looked over the possible prizes.  Mostly small trinkets, some vouchers for various stalls and businesses around the festival, and a few higher ticket items like stationery, soaps and accessories made from wood, leather, or bone, but apparently the crowned jewel of the stall- the item everyone probably pulled out their money for- was a jewel-encrusted dagger.
“I don’t need your eyes to know that ain’t winnable,” Hikaze pointed out.
“It’s not even real anyways.  Someone just slapped a cabochon on the hilt of some basic dagger and gussied it up,” Anastasios whispered back.
“Ah, festival game booths,” Hikaze sighed whimsically.  “So, since we can’t take down the big prize, we’ll just have to go for the next best things.”
“And I’ll submit a report to Lady Aria about this vendor tomorrow.  I’m sure she’d love to hear all about a dishonest merchant in her country.”
“Hearing you call her that still confuses me,” Hikaze sighed.  “Alright, which one am I aiming for.”
“Pull a blank first.  Let’s get his hopes up,” Anastasios cackled.
“Dude, when it comes to this stuff, you’re even worse than me,” Hikaze laughed.
“If they don’t want to get scammed, then they shouldn’t try to scam other people.  Basic common sense,” Anastasios fired back as he fished out four large copper coins from the satchel at his hip.  A play was 5 copper pieces, and one large copper gave them two each.  That’d be plenty enough to swipe any big ticket items and put the fear of Arceus in the stall owner.
The two walked away with a small armful of goodies after a lot of begging and pleading from the stall owner.  None of it was stuff they actually wanted- they’d only taken it to upset the stall owner, but, if they kept this up, toting around their winnings was going to get very tiring.
“We’re gonna have to find some way to unload all this,” Anastasios noted.  The satchels at their waists weren't as convenient as the backpacks of old with their seemingly infinite luggage space.
“Yeah, may not hurt to rethink how we go about this,” Hikaze added.  “Otherwise we're gonna get buried.”  They couldn't just teleport back to the house either to drop stuff off as they pleased.  “Hey, how about we-… Stasi?” Hikaze looked over to see that, in the moment he hadn’t been looking, Anastasios had vanished.  Well… not so much vanished as stopped.  “Stasi?”
Anastasios turned his attention back to Hikaze as if remembering they were actually on a date.  “Sorry, just thinking.  Gimme a moment.”  He turned his head back to the stall he’d been staring at and Hikaze’s gaze followed.  It was a stall with a ball-throwing game, and there were two kids at it who were clearly aiming for something that was a bit outside their skillset.  The stall itself seemed rather fair, as far as Hikaze could tell, but, from their conversation, they were trying to win a present for their mom, and it just wasn’t going well.
“ ‘s not like we need any of this right?  Let’s just give it to ‘em,” Hikaze said.  No psychic powers needed for that mind reading.
“You sure?”
“Yeah, besides,” Hikaze said as he walked over and leaned into Anastasios’ ear, “I’ve already got what I came for today.”
Anastasios bolted back and covered his ear in a flustered rage as Hikaze cheekily pointed at him before snatching Hikaze’s winnings out of his arms.  “Gimme those!  Stay here.  And not a word out of you!”  Hikaze obliged, but Anastasios still nearly slugged him for the smug grin on his face.  By the time Anastasios trotted back with empty arms, his smile was a lot warmer and he wrapped an arm around Anastasios’ shoulders and just barely stopped himself from messing his hair- namely because of the glare the older boy was shooting him.
“You can just say you’re a softie you know, no one here’ll get mad,” Hikaze teased.
Anastasios huffed and pried the arm off his shoulder.  “It served both our interests.  They wanted something to bring home to their mother, and we needed to unload.  We should be more considerate of what prizes we’re taking home from here on.  We can’t afford to do the kinds of competitions Esaias and Kazuya did.”
“But you remember what those competitions were like though,” Hikaze teased.
“Not at all, I can simply infer from our earlier conversation the lengths to which those two might have gone,” Anastasios replied stubbornly.  To drop the ruse at this point would only serve to invite even more teasing from the other boy.  His heart was still calming down from the last one.
Hikaze rolled his eyes, but his smile never faltered.  “Fine, whatever you say Your Stubbornness,” Hikaze quipped.  “How about just 5 stalls then?  We don’t have to completely sweep ‘em, just play for kicks and whatever we actually want to win.  Y’know, like normal people.”
“Oh, so you’re saying you don’t want my advice?” Anastasios asked with a smug smile.
“Hey, I never said that.  I just meant less of the actively using your powers to screw them over bit.  It’d be no fun if you’re the only one who knows how to win,” Hikaze insisted.
“Geez, you’re so demanding,” Anastasios scoffed, although the smile on his face betrayed his true feelings on the matter.  They couldn’t go as crazy as they used to, they knew that now, but they could still have fun.
They played at a few other booths, trying to pick games that didn’t resemble the ones from their past lives as closely to make their brief jaunt in this section more fun, but, in the end, they spent more time walking around arguing over which stalls to do than actually playing though.  Since they’d agreed on five and they’d already done one, they wanted to be sure about the other four they picked and walked up and down the street to see their options before deciding, which, in the end, resulted in more arguing than playing.
“Okay, okay, I’ll pick two and you pick two, how about that?” Hikaze said finally.  They’d spent the better part of ten minutes bickering after nearly an hour of walking, only for Hikaze to be reminded that this was supposed to be a date, and this wasn’t what you were supposed to do on a date.
“Finally, a reasonable proposal,” Anastasios spat.  “You have way too many you want to do.  You can’t possibly have all of them!”
Hikaze grimaced and tittered.  He couldn’t tell Anastasios he saw that many prizes that he thought would suit him and was hoping to earn point with that.
“I’ll be magnanimous and let you pick the first one,” Hikaze replied, forcing down the urge not to try and bite Anastasios’ head off.  No fighting today, he reminded himself.
Anastasios responded with a smug smirk that made Hikaze want to put his fist right in the center of that pretty face of his and began looking around, trying to remember any places he’d noted.  Anastasios’ eyes were drawn to a booth where you could shoot prizes off of a shelf with a cork gun.  One of the prizes, Hikaze noticed, was a bright red leather cuff with a spin-lock clasp and a black feather tooled into the hide.  He hadn’t seen it before, but that was probably because he’d been arguing with Anastasios.  It was obviously going to be one of the least winnable prizes, probably weighted down by something he couldn’t see, but damn if he didn’t want it, and Anastasios definitely saw that.
“Wanna give that booth a shot?” Anastasios asked.
“I mean yeah, but I don't need your eyes to know that cuff ain't winnable,” Hikaze said with a resigned scoff.
“Does that mean we’re not gonna play?” the smart-ass asked with a teasing grin.
“…No,” Hikaze replied with a smile.  “Were gonna knock their socks off!”
“That’s more like it,” Anastasios said with a grin as he got out his pouch of coins and laid down one large copper on the table.  “Let me handle this one.  I’ll give you the next one in exchange.”  An offer too good to pass up for Hikaze.  A free booth with Anastasios’ help was sure to be a good time.
“What're you gonna aim for?” Hikaze asked, seeming a bit hopeful.
“You'll see.”  The man behind the counter handed Anastasios the cork rifle with a smug sneer.  Contrary to Hikaze's hope, Anastasios took aim at a small stuffed animal.  Without missing a beat, he knocked it down and reloaded.  The next was a box of snacks.  Then a small accessory made from beaded shells.  All small, cheap trinkets.  But by the time Anastasios had used ten of his shots to take down seven prizes (missing some on purpose to avoid tipping the vendor off that he was using a cheat), the stall vendor was starting to get it.  Five more prizes later, he had his hand shoved over the cork in the barrel and was forcing the muzzle to the table.
“Alright!  Alright!  You're gonna clean me out at this rate.”
Anastasios handed the rifle back, the same smug sneer that the vendor had been wearing before now on his face.
“How'd you know which ones are weighted?” he grumbled.
“A bit of guesswork,” Anastasios replied.
“I’ll give you anything you want up there, so just don't tell anyone.”
“The wristcuff,” Anastasios said, pointing to the bright red accessory.  The vendor grimaced, but Anastasios could already tell he was relieved that he hadn't picked the actual nicest prize there- a jeweled necklace.  The man handed over the wristcuff, and Anastasios eagerly accepted.  “You can keep everything else, including the change,” Anastasios cackled.  The cuff was definitely worth more than the coin he'd paid, but Anastasios had no doubt he'd already swindled more than half its worth out of others before the two even came into the street.  Anastasios spun the cuff around his finger and turned to Hikaze with a grin.  “And that's how you do it.”  He gently took Hikaze's dominant wrist and wrapped the cuff around his arm.  Hikaze turned his arm and looked it over, a big smile on his face.
“Thanks, no way I would’ve been able to get that one myself,” Hikaze admitted, continuing to admire his new accessory.  While he could have done what Anastasios did, it would have required a lot of instruction from the Seer on what to aim for, and that no doubt would have tipped off the vendor.
“Yeah well, you have to give me some chances to look cool too,” Anastasios answered gently pressing his lips to the cuff on the underside of his wrist.  Anastasios grinned as Hikaze turned red.  It was his turn to be flustered now.  “And just to be generous, I'll let you pick the freebie.”
“Couldn't ask for better presents,” Hikaze replied, slightly out of breath.  Apparently, this was Anastasios’ response to the earcuffs and the honey from earlier.
By the time the two boys had finished their self-allotted games, the sun was dipping towards the horizon, and the growl of Hikaze’s stomach reminded both of them that it was time for dinner.
“Didn’t you eat enough earlier?” Anastasios asked, incredulous.
“Oh, don’t act like you aren’t hungry,” Hikaze spat.  “We’ve both been doing a lot of walking and playing around.  You may have stopped growing, but you still have a teenager’s metabolism-”
Hikaze was cut off by the sound of Anastasios’ stomach agreeing with him.  A grin plastered itself on his face as the older man scowled and turned bright red.
“Not a word!  You hear?  Not a single word!”
“Wow, Stasi, I didn’t know our Young Patriarch was such a glutton,” Hikaze teased, completely forgetting his earlier attempts to not pick any arguments.  Anastasios’ fist moved to come down on his head, but Hikaze managed to dodge, setting the pace for this confrontation in his favor.  “Hearing that, you’d almost think our little Seer Prince was human and not some stuffy perfect doll.”  Hikaze couldn’t help but cackle as Anastasios grew ever redder, the only thing stopping him from actually taking Hikaze out being the crowd around them.  Of course, as soon as Anastasios managed to guide him into an alley, they’d end up in a tussle on the ground, but it was rare that Hikaze got the upper hand when it came to teasing, so he couldn’t help himself.  While he was laughing though, the end he feared came to pass, and Anastasios shoved him into a dim alley and up against the wall, mounting a box as he did so in order to get the height he needed to bring his fist down on the taller man’s skull.  “Ow!  You used your knuckles on that one!”
“Yeah, and that’ll teach you to make fun of me,” Anastasios sneered, quickly clambering up two more boxes and out of Hikaze’s reach- or so he thought, but Hikaze leapt up, managed to grab him by the ankle, and pulled him off, successfully toppling the boxes in the process.  “Happy with yourself?  We almost got crushed!” Anastasios scolded.  Hikaze had just barely managed to use his legs to brace them from the boxes, but, in turn, the arm he hadn’t used to hold onto Anastasios had taken the brunt of their fall.  Anastasios shoved the boxes off of them and helped Hikaze sit up.  “How’s it all feel?  Any broken bones?”
“Sure hope not.”  Getting his arms or legs broken on the first date was not going to make this end well.  He took inventory of his limbs.  His legs were probably a little bruised, but they didn’t complain when he stood up.  The boxes had felt pretty empty, which was good news for him.  His arm, on the other hand, was scraped up from wrist to elbow from bracing their fall.  He wasn’t sure if he was glad he’d worn a sleeveless hakamashita because that meant that he didn’t get it all torn up or annoyed because now his arm was dripping blood.
“Arceus, what are we gonna do with you.”
“This wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t been a little brat in the first place.”
“Or maybe, you just need to learn to reign in your appetite,” Anastasios spat back as he fished a roll of gauze out of his satchel.
               “Why do you have that?”
“It’s a better question to ask why I wouldn’t,” Anastasios replied in disbelief.  “Hold out your arm.”  Hikaze complied, scowling as Anastasios spread a poultice on the gauze and slapped it on his arm before wrapping it up.  “How long have we known each other now?”
“I stopped counting after the first hundred years,” Hikaze replied.
               Anastasios glared at him.
“We’ve known each other six years now,” Anastasios spat back.  “And we get into so many scuffles, it’d be irresponsible of me to carry this sort of stuff around.  One or both of us is getting beat up on a weekly basis.”
Hikaze thought that over a minute and came to a frustrating realization.
“Aren’t I the one constantly getting beat up by you?!”
“Well yeah, I stopped going easy on you years ago,” Anastasios replied with a smirk.  Over the years, Hikaze had grown bigger than Anastasios in terms of both height and muscle mass, but the smaller boy was lithe and acrobatic with a deadly knowledge and ability to exploit the weak points on the human body.  If he chose to settle things with a Pokemon battle, it was a courtesy.  “Plus, I can’t afford to show up at a meeting with nobles covered in cuts and scrapes like some child, can I?”
“But I’m the one escorting you to those meetings,” Hikaze pointed out.
“Oh, the wonders of makeup,” Anastasios cackled, lightly slapping Hikaze’s cheek as he crimped the gauze in place.
Hikaze snorted in displeasure but didn’t retort.  Admittedly, as much as he wanted Anastasios to get his, the idea of Anastasios’s pretty face getting beat up left a foul taste in his mouth.
               “Now, how ‘bout some dinner.”
Hikaze sighed down through his nose and noticed that all Anastasios had gotten out of this was some mildly disheveled hair, several stray golden strands slipping out of his meticulous braid.  Hikaze brought up both hands (which were gritty and dusty as hell from the ground) to Anastasios’ head, and, before the man could process what was going on, Hiakze violently ruffled his entire scalp, making a complete bird’s nest out of the resplendent locks and earning a loud howl of frustration from Anastasios.  Hikaze pulled down on one eyelid and stuck out his tongue like a child, mocking him, before running off to go find some place to eat, Anastasios charging angrily after him to return the favor.

The Big Picture: 2024's Bollywood Latest Collection Report Card
Hey movie buffs! Buckle up for the most exciting deep dive into what's making waves (and money!) in Indian cinema this year. The bollywood latest collection figures are breaking records left and right, and we're here to spill all the tea! From cop dramas to ghostly adventures, 2024 is turning out to be a blockbuster year that's got everyone talking.
Singham's Roaring Return
Let's kick things off with the biggest cop universe expansion yet! The Hindi movie box office collection for Singham Again has sent shockwaves through the industry, amassing a spectacular ₹192.5 crore in just its opening week. Ajay Devgn's iconic character is back with more swag, bigger action, and those signature sunglasses flips that we can't get enough of! The bollywood latest collection reports suggest it's racing towards the ₹200 crore club faster than you can say "Aata Majhi Satakli!"
But what's making this cop drama such a massive hit? Well, imagine Rohit Shetty taking everything you loved about the previous films and cranking it up to eleven! The hindi movie box office collection proves that audiences can't resist the perfect blend of high-octane action, emotional drama, and those flying cars we've come to expect (and love!).
Double Trouble in Horror Town
Speaking of breaking records, the bollywood latest collection numbers for our favorite horror-comedies are giving accountants sleepless nights (pun intended!). Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Stree 2 have both hit the jackpot with approximately ₹210 crore each! Who knew ghosts could be such good business?
The hindi movie box office collection for these spooktacular entertainers shows that the horror-comedy genre has found its sweet spot. Kartik Aaryan's Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 continues to charm audiences with his ghostbusting antics, while Stree 2 proves that social commentary mixed with scares is still a winning formula. The bollywood latest collection success of both films hints at a bright (or should we say dark?) future for this genre. Let’s wait and watch how far Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 goes as it’s still in the cinemas.
Future Perfect: Kalki 2898 AD Takes Flight
Hold onto your seats because the bollywood latest collection figures for this sci-fi epic will blow your mind. Kalki 2898 AD has transcended expectations with an astronomical collection between ₹1,100-1,200 crore! This perfect blend of mythology and futuristic elements has created box office history, proving that Indian cinema can dream big and deliver bigger.
The hindi movie box office collection for Kalki 2898 AD isn't just impressive - it's revolutionary! With stunning visuals, a star-studded cast including the legendary Amitabh Bachchan and Prabhas, and a story that bridges ancient wisdom with future technology, this film has set a new benchmark for Indian cinema.
Comedy Ka Twist!
Let's talk about Bad Newz - the surprise package of 2024! While its bollywood latest collection of ₹60 crore might seem modest compared to our other blockbusters, this quirky comedy has found its audience through word-of-mouth publicity. The hindi movie box office collection proves that sometimes, content is king, and audiences appreciate fresh storytelling.
The film's unique premise about pregnancy confusion has struck a chord with viewers, showing that the bollywood latest collection isn't always about massive budgets and explosions. Sometimes, all you need is a good story well told.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Let's get analytical about these bollywood latest collection figures:
Box Office Giants in 2024:
Kalki 2898 AD: ₹1,100+ crore (Setting new records!)
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: ₹210 crore (Horror-comedy magic!)
Stree 2: ₹210 crore (Matching its spooky competitor!)
Singham Again: ₹192.5 crore (Still climbing!)
Bad Newz: ₹60 crore (Steady success!)
The hindi movie box office collection trends reveal some interesting patterns. Big-budget spectacles are still crowd-pullers, but genre films with strong content are equally capable of striking gold. These numbers suggest that audiences are more discerning than ever, rewarding both scale and substance.
Final Thoughts
As we wrap up this bollywood latest collection roundup, one thing's for sure - 2024 is proving to be a landmark year for Indian cinema. Whether you're a fan of high-octane action, spine-chilling horror, mind-bending sci-fi, or heartwarming comedy, there's something for everyone, and the box office numbers prove it!
From small-town horror stories to futuristic epics, viewers are embracing diversity in content like never before. The hindi movie box office collection trends suggest that we're entering a golden age of Indian cinema where there's room for every kind of story.
So, which of these blockbusters have you watched? Are you Team Singham or Team Rooh Baba? Or are you still processing the mind-bending visuals of Kalki 2898 AD?
