One of my first figures, and the one who inspires me! Etrigan the Demon from DC comics. His design is an amalgam from the many cartoons.

You can see it's one of the first due to having an improvised base.

He's also a Pokémon trainer and proud owner of a Slugma and a Litten.

Apologies as it's been a while since my last contact, and to be fair you were right on more counts of those Pokemon than you know! However the reason there was a longer delay was because of the fact that there were poachers with a mix of Pokemon that moved into the area. Between the slugma, grimers, Arcanine, and two voltorbs they were dangerous. I only know this because they approached me as rangers and refused to show anything to signify them as such, then when I bailed on the ATV with everyone and the Mawhile, they burned and ruined my house and lands. I also know they had those Voltorbs self-destruct in my home too as there is a few craters. I did manage to get away to alert the Rangers and a few trainers too, but now I've got pieces to pick up and a new, but reluctant, friend

Wow I’m so, so, sorry for what happened! That’s awful! I’m really glad you got out of there okay! You absolutely do not have to apologise for something like that, I completely understand.

Thank you for getting back in touch again. I’m glad my advice was able to help you somewhat. You did the right thing getting out and alerting the Rangers, I’m just so sorry you were paid back with something so terrible. Hopefully, those people will be brought to justice soon. That kind of reckless endangerment goes far beyond the norm for poachers.

More importantly, I hope you’re in a safe place and you’re looking after yourself too. All I can really do is wish you and your pokémon the best on the road ahead. <3

Emerald! Gym 4!

January 19th

Oof so the emerald experience is kinda stressful. I don't like how blind I am in this as a game I'm unfamiliar with but am also kinda rushing. I am making mistakes because I'm playing on speed mode like accidently making swellow forget wing attack and other nonsense. I really need to chill out a bit and just enjoy playing. Losing a pokemon is so punishing as well which when I know theres back ups and can plan ahead its fine but here I'm losing my nerve...

Yet onwards! I am absolutely loving the variety of locations in Hoenn. I feel like the remakes didn't do some of them justice! Mt. chimney and route 113 were very cool. I easily managed to battle through them and on the way caught a new friend! A Numel in the fiery path who I named Papaya. I should have got one on route 112 to maximise encounters but this is fine. He has a calm nature and the ability Oblivious which will be useful for Flannery!

After running around the map I also catch some other pokemon which I box like a swablu, spinda and solrock!

After meteor falls its a quick trip up Mt. chimney and a very uncomplicated battle with maxie. Honestly Haryama dealt with most of it with swampert coming in to finish off Camerupt. All in all a win. With a quick trip down the jagged pass I make it to lavaridge town and the next gym. Now initially I wasn't worried about this fight because of Pelliper and Marshtomp... I should have been.

I trained up against the trainers here and begin. Starting with pelliper who can outspeed and prevent sunny day set up, I water gun numel, slugma and even camerupt taking them all out before sunny day can go up. Torkoal comes out and things go wrong. I start with one final water gun as she finally set up sunny day. That's fine I am ready for this. I switch into Marshtomp who can dig to victory. Unfortunately while I get decent chip damage it goes down to red hp as marshtomp come up and uses overheat. Marshtomp takes far too much damage for my liking form a body slam so I switch into numel for some magnetudes as she heals back up... the next mistake. I end up taking a strong overheat hit switching and then another and another all sunboosted only able to do chip damage as she heals. Eventually swellow is defeated! This does allow me to switch into lime who finishes it but it was honestly a really poor show and so disheartening to lose Swellow who is supposed to be brilliant in these games. I don't feel I'm doing a great job here but hopefully I can bring it back.

Honestly in the end I am doing this blind so mistakes like this are to be expected. I almost need to do a trial run of the game first so I know the tripping points. As watching nuzlockers on youtube well... kinda sucks because they are not beginner nuzlockers so already know and have made the mistakes in the past. Still I will not be disheartedned and keep soldiering on. There are plenty of pokemon in this region and I have only used 6 so far! Next up is norman which should be fine thanks to Lime's protect and swamy's dig!
