Gideon Taaffe at MMFA:
After former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt at a campaign rally, right-wing media have claimed that Democrats and others should tone down their supposedly inflaming rhetoric and President Joe Biden should pardon Trump. Meanwhile, right-wing media have repeatedly used overheated rhetoric when discussing Democrats, framing the 2024 election as a âpolitical warâ and âthe end of the republicâ if Biden wins.Â
Right-wing media are deceitfully using the assassination attempt on Donald Trump to tone police Democratic rhetoric against Trump warning about his threats to democracy as âout of controlâ, even as right-wing media continue to make unhinged attacks against those opposed to the Orange FĂŒhrer.

older gf!tashi is invading my mind⊠doing something for her birthday, making it a whole day affair like starting with a bike ride and then going to her favorite cafe. snuggling at home with a movie on and then going out for a nice dinner. giving her presents and with every one her face is heating up more and more because no one has even known her so well.
sigh. forever thinking about her
hi iâm so happy you guys love older gf!tashi so much because i love her so much and she wonât leave my mind!! i could write about her forever!! and i just might!!
sheâs been talking about this bike trail along the side of a mountain for what feels like months now. you donât trust your biking skills nearly enough to do this, but you love her, so whatâs a broken rib? waking up bright and early to set out her first gift â a brand new zip up, one of those tight ones with the thumb holes in the sleeves. she loves those things. a matching pair of leggings folded on top. waking her up with a kiss to the forehead and a quiet âcâmon, birthday girlâ. she comes out of the room with a bright smile and sleepy face, her hair pulled back into a ponytail that flips around when she does a little spin for you, her hand grabbing under your jaw gently to pull you into a kiss.âi love it, thank youâ she mutters before kissing you again and grabbing her water bottle to fill up.
before you know it, youâre following close behind her up the side of this steep mountain, yelling at the back of her head about how this is making you want to shit your pants from how nervous you are. the second you get to the top of the trail she takes out her ten year old digital camera, snapping pictures of the sky, your profile, your shoes, her eye, anything that she thinks might look nice in a scrap book one day. sweet lady.
after more than a few kisses and a long talk by the summit (never too close, youâre too nervous), itâs back down the mountain and to the car, off to her favorite little mexican cafe. she gets a hot chocolate because of course she does. youâd swear she changed her life the second you introduced her to abuelita. she never finishes her concha, always more than insistent that you share with her because she wonât eat it later. you never share, she always eats it later. you pay, she complains about it, you go home. all the biking and talking and hot cocoa drinking got the both of you sweaty â you shower together. running your hands through her hair, massaging shampoo into her scalp, kissing and nipping at her neck and chest and cheeks, telling her how lucky you are. you get so caught up in feeling her, in practically worshipping her kiss after kiss, that you donât even process that sheâs washing your hair while you do so.
after the shower itâs robes and wine, some cheese from trader joeâs that she says sheâs too full to eat while stuffing her face with it. she leans into you all curled up, her brows furrowed while she picks a movie. you both fall asleep thirty minutes into the waterboy. the grating sound of your alarm startles the both of you, but itâs the fact that youâre bound to be twenty minutes late to your reservation that gets you on your feet. she wears a her prettiest jewelry and fanciest knit sweater, you wear some skirt from the bottom of your drawer and the boots she got you last week. more kisses, more giggling, one smack on the ass from her trying to get you out the door.
she loves martinis. god, why does she love martinis? whatâs worse is that she gets you to take a sip every time, then you end up chugging half of your mai tai to try and chase the olive taste out. she orders steak fritz, you order truffle ravioli. you laugh about your friends and how dysfunctional their relationship is, how bad that pie they brought to thanksgiving was. you never tell the staff itâs her birthday; youâd rather spare her the awkward song and sparklers and just pay for whatever dessert she wants. she wants some lemon ricotta pastry, but she wants you to get the german chocolate cake so you two can share. she tells you that she wants to read the midnight library, you tell her youâve heard good things about it. she wonders if she should get into pottery, you wonder what mugs and bowls her pretty hands could craft. after forks scraping frosting and a weird lemon dessert that you both hated, itâs back home.
youâre all too eager to get her in the house, all giddy as you unlock the door and drag her into the room, pulling out all her gifts from your side of the closet. sheâs always sort of hated gifts. sheâs used to perfumes and heels and lingerie â shit she doesnât need and âshouldâ want. a card, three boxes, and a bag. she goes for the card first, reading the lengthy message you left in there before peeling open the piece of folded paper inside. a cooking class in the heart of the city. just for her, you didnât even bother booking a coupleâs class. âyou donât like sharing the kitchenâ you laugh softly, ânâ i figured it would be a nice personal thingâ. the woman likes her solo hobbies, who doesnât? you watch with warm eyes as she starts ripping at the brown parchment wrapping of the first box. brand new hokas, the ones sheâs been refusing to buy herself because it seemed like a waste of money. after that is a brand new film camera. she mentioned it once at some point, and youâre sure of that by the look on her face. the box after that is just rolls of film and a little book about photography.
lastly, her bunny. that is, her stuffed bunny from when she was like⊠six. she hasnât stopped talking about the thing pretty much since you met, always complaining about how it had to be somewhere in her momâs attic. it was â it was ratty and faded and hers, a popped off eye and loose stitching. you sent it to one of those people on etsy who revives stuffed animals, now itâs nearly new. you canât tell if itâs the lighting or the three martinis, or maybe sheâs just genuinely a little emotional, but you canât swear you see tears brimming in her pretty eyes.
iâm so sorry this is so long wow. wow wow wow

After a report implied many voters of color in swing states are souring on President Biden, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, sparked outrage for implying they are only doing so because they are uninformed and blinded by their feelings.
CNN's "State of the Union" host Dana Bash spoke to a panel on her show about a recent report from The New York Times, "Trump Leads in 5 Critical States as Voters Blast Biden, Times/Siena Poll Finds." The report included polling that claimed, "Black voters â long a bulwark for Democrats and for Mr. Biden â are now registering 22 percent support in these states for Mr. Trump, a level unseen in presidential politics for a Republican in modern times."
Bash addressed Crockett and read an excerpt from the report, "In a remarkable sign of a gradual racial realignment between the two parties, the more diverse the swing state, the farther Mr. Biden was behind, and he led only in the Whitest of the six."
"Itâs really scary for me," Crockett replied, before going on to explain why she thinks this shift appears to be happening.
"Hereâs the deal, perception is reality, and so when you look at the data that was provided in this poll, it talks about how people feel⊠it is all about how you feel in that moment," she said. "While the facts may not align with their feelings, their feelings are dictating their reality and their reality is that they feel better or they felt better when Trump was in office."
Crockett added that Democrats have been "trying to push back" against this, even as "some very popular African American artists out here saying things like âOh I got checks when Trump was in office. I want those checks again,â not understanding that really came from Congress."
"So we have got a couple of things, the perception issue and then we also have an issue as it relates to civics in this country and people not understanding exactly how any of this works," she concluded.
As footage of Crockettâs statement shot across the internet, commentators condemned her rhetoric on social media.
"âVoters are too stupid and they don't understand their bettersâ is probably not a great campaign message for Democrats," The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway wrote.
"The utter disdain these elitist lawmakers have for their own constituents is really mind-blowing," commentator Joe Concha wrote.
"Where did she get such a sense of superiority?" journalist Miranda Devine wrote.
"Pre Obama the Democratâs stock response to dropping numbers in a demographic was, âweâll go and listen, and try hard to earn that support,â" columnist David Marcus wrote. "Today it is, âthey are wrong, and somewhat ignorant, weâll show them why we are smart and right.â"
"Imagine being this dismissive of your voters? Democrats seem to think the people who they need to elect them are all stupid and incapable of understanding whatâs actually happening," radio personality Mike Opelka wrote.
"Oh really," Fox News host Lawrence Jones III wrote.
Many commentators, especially Black conservatives, scorched Crockett for appearing to underestimate Black voters' ability to grasp politics.
"In other words, according to Democrat @RepJasmine Crockett, Blacks are too stupid to understand how much better they are under Biden," conservative commentator and former 2024 presidential hopeful Larry Elder wrote. "Not too bigoted! If Trump said this, Democrats would be drawing up another article of impeachment."
"Once again telling the Black community that we are not intelligent enough to see whatâs going on and understand it," former Republican congressional nominee Jeffrey A. Dove wrote.Â
"Democrats: Blacks are too emotional to think clearly. Smart pitch," HotAir associate editor David Strom wrote sarcastically.

By J.R. Dunn
There is a tide in the affairs of men, as Shakespeare said, and now, two weeks before election day, that tide has swung decisively toward Donald Trump. Forget the establishment polls. The betting sites show him leading by nearly thirty points. Heâs ahead in every last battleground state, according to RCP. Embattled Democrat senatorial candidates, including Bob Casey, Sherrod Brown, Jon Tester, and Tammy Baldwin have abandoned Harris and allied themselves with Trump. Both the LA Times and WaPo have refused to endorse Harris. There are more registered GOP voters today than at any previous point in history.
As for Mrs. Harris-Emhoff⊠well, âcollapseâ is the polite word. She has lost the Teamsters, diehard donks since the days they actually drove horses, along with the firefighters and the border patrolmen. She has lost the male Hispanic vote, and is losing the male black vote. The southeastern U.S. is in a collective white-hot rage over her flippant response to the hurricanes. Lilâ Timmy Walzâs debate performance, intended to pull her out of her tailspin, was a debacle of historical proportions. She canât open her mouth without generating controversy and disgust. A week ago, she had four for four: four scandals in four days â missing the Al Smith dinner, producing a video insulting to Catholics (with the cardinal present, to boot), insulting religious believers at a rally, and her âI worked at Micky Dâsâ story being revealed as bogus. Sheâs even been blowing (can I say that?) the most supportive venues. As Joe Concha put it, sheâs âthe only Democrat on record who fumbled an interview on âThe View.â
Trumpâs chief challenge remains cheating. Weâre not going to debate whether cheating in fact occurred in 2020 â the only ones who dispute that at this point are the bought, the braindead, and the comatose.
We see many claims that the big cheat will inevitably defeat Trump in the end. This is usually put as âThey [otherwise unidentified] wonât allow him into the Oval Office ever again.â This is generally heard from doom and damnation types who canât see a cloud in the sky without predicting the Deluge. But the question remains: if in 2020, why not in 2024?

Not satiređ€Šââïž Salon Magazine: "MAGA Republicans & Christian Nationalism âBigger Threat to America than Hamasâ "
When Hillary Clinton called for the deprogramming of Trump Supporters, it was evident that Big Brother plans to imprison any American who refuses to relinquish love for God & love of country.

Todayâs Republicans, as well as Christian nationalism, are a greater threat to the United States than the Hamas terrorist organization, which is responsible for scores of terror attacks including the most recent massacre of over 1,000 civilians â according to a recent Salon piece that is drawing fierce backlash for the âgrossâ assertion.
Following the deadliest attack on Jewish people since the Nazi Holocaust, Salon magazine published an essay declaring MAGA Republicans and Christian supporters a âbigger threatâ to America than the Hamas terrorist perpetrators.Â
The Thursday essay, titled âMAGA and Christian nationalism: Bigger threat to America than Hamas could ever be,â was penned by columnist Brian Karem, the former senior White House correspondent for Playboy.
â while forcing the rest of us to worship the way they choose,â he asserts, accusing them of appearing âhellbent on returning to the Middle Ages, driven there by the first Christian nationalist House speaker.â
He also claims that modern Republicans are unconcerned about the possibility of theocratic threats to freedom.
âThey revel in their own chicanery. They despise free thought and independence, and are happy to play games with a government shutdown â the modern equivalent of fiddling while it all burns,â he writes.Â
The longtime White House correspondent concludes with a reflection on President Joe Bidenâs dwindling popularity and the broader challenges facing the country, from climate change to the potential of widespread violence and political turmoil.
In response, many took to social media to express outrage over the essay.
âGood grief,â remarked Tesla CEO and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk.âYep. Some editor at Salon actually signed off on this piece by Brian Karem, who somehow is a credentialed WH âreporter,ââ wrote columnist Joe Concha.
âIn a sane world theyâd be out of a job in about 30 seconds. Instead, Salon is actually promoting it,â he added. The U.S.-designated Islamic terror group, whose charter calls openly for the murder of Jews and the elimination of the Jewish state through relentless jihad, perpetrated the worst terrorist attack in Israelâs history last month, in an operation stemming from its radical beliefs.Â
Hamasâ attack last month, which drew parallels to scenes from the Nazi Holocaust, saw some 2,500 terrorists burst into Issrael by land, sea, and air and gun down participants at an outdoor music festival while others went door-to-door hunting for Jewish men, women, and children in local towns who were then subject to torture, rape, execution, immolation, and kidnapping.
The attack resulted in more than 1,400 dead inside the Jewish state, over 5,300 more wounded, and at least 242 hostages of all ages taken.
The vast majority of the victims are civilians and include dozens of American citizens. On Tuesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned of heightened threats in the U.S. due to the Israel-Hamas war.
âWe assess that the actions of Hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration the likes of which we havenât seen since (the Islamic State group) launched its so-called caliphate several years ago,â Wray told the Senate Committee on Homeland Security.
Salon has a history of smearing Republicans and Christians.
In March, a Salon piece insisted that Republicans are in the midst of waging a âfascist warâ against freedom and democracy.Last year, an article in the progressive publication described the GOP as being a âde facto terrorist organizationâ as well as the âworldâs largest white supremacistâ group.
Previously, Salon published an interview in which âthe Republican fascist movementïżœïżœïżœ was referred to as âobjectively evil,â and âwhite Christiansâ were accused of embracing lies, terrorism, white supremacy and fascism.

Fin.

Formerly Fired CNN Windbag Brian Stelter Steps in It Once Again, Can't Stop Politicizing Tragedy

The formerly âmost trusted name in newsâ outlet CNN made a rare quality decision in August 2022 when they summarily fired âReliable Sourcesâ misinformation king Brian Stelter for his repeated stetching of the truth, but for reasons known only to themselves, they rehired him in September 2024 as their âchief media analyst.â
Frequently referred to by critics as âTaterâ for his uncanny resemblance to the widely consumed starchy edible tuber known as a potato, the gaslighting pundit quickly returned to his misinformation ways and was at it again Saturday regarding the tragic and horrific shooting of two Democratic lawmakers and their spouses in Minnesota. As we reported, former DemocraticâFarmerâLabor Party (DFL) Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman were killed in the attacks, while State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were injured and are currently in the hospital. The gunman is still on the run.
But Stelter didnât need to wait for the facts to come in; he already had a hot potato take ready at hand:
What direction, exactly, Mr. Stelter? We know very little about this deranged assassinâs motivations, and like so many of these nutjobs, his political leanings seem to be all over the place. If youâre trying to lay this atrocious act at the feet of Donald Trump and the actions heâs been taking, youâve once again failed miserably, as you so often do:
Heâs not the only one jumping to conclusions:
Fox News media critic Joe Concha (fairly) nuked Stelterâs biased take, as did others. Here is Stephen L. Miller, not to be confused with the Trump advisor and fierce White House defender of the same name, but a prominent critic in his own right:
He is referring to ABCâs Terry Moran, a veteran reporter fired Tuesday by his appalling network for his unhinged attacks against⊠the other Stephen Miller. I know, it gets confusing.
How about just for once, liberal media pundits wait for the facts to come out before âpouncing?â But that would be journalism, a job most of the lamestream media seems no longer capable of doing.
For a minute there, under the direction of ousted CNN CEO Chris Licht, the outlet seemed to be at least making an effort at returning to honest journalism. But they quickly gave up that attempt and scurried back to their biased, nakedly partisan coverage. Itâs unfortunate for America, becauseâeven if you donât watch the Misinformation Networkâentirely too many do, and itâs one reason we got Joe Biden for four horrible years. Itâs inexplicable why they rehired the Tater, and as he continues to BS the nation, it becomes yet another in a long line of stains on a network that once, unbelievably, was proud.Â
Now theyâre nothing more than a joke.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu raised eyebrows over the weekend after she expressed condolences to the family of a knife-wielding suspect who was shot and killed by an off-duty officer after he allegedly tried to stab two people on Saturday night.
The suspect, whose identity was not released by police, brandished a knife near a Chick-fil-A on Boylston Street, a busy part of the Massachusetts capital. He was fatally shot by an off-duty police officer who saw him targeting the two victims, police said.
During a Saturday night press conference, Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said that the officer identified himself to the suspect and asked him to drop his weapon.
"The individual was trying to stab the two individuals in the store, and the off-duty officer identified himself as a police officer, instructing them to drop the weapon, at which point the individual did not comply," Cox explained. "The officer discharged his weapon to stop the threat, and the individual was struck. The armed individual was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead."
Cox added that he was "proud of police officers who activate themselves, whether it's on duty or off duty, to try to save lives."Â
After Cox and Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden both expressed some sadness over the loss of life during the incident, Wu notably did not express sympathy for the two people who were nearly stabbed by the suspect, just those "impacted" by the incident, which happened in "one of the busier parts" of Beantown.
"My condolences, and all of our thoughts, are with the family of the individual whose life has been lost," Wu said. "And I'm also thinking of all the people who were impacted here today in one of the busier parts of the city with this tragedy."
"I'm glad that the officer is safe and very grateful for a quick response from all of our first responders here again," she said.
Wu's remarks were called out by critics across the country on social media shortly after she spoke. Journalist Jonathan Choe wrote that "[i]t's all upside down in Boston."
BOSTON COUNCILWOMAN BACKS OFF AFTER RIDICULING TOM HOMAN'S EMPLOYMENT HISTORY IN FIERY POST: 'I UNDERSTAND'
"When is the last time you heard of a mayor apologizing to the family of a knife wielding attacker who allegedly tried to kill multiple people?" Choe questioned. "What about the people who were nearly killed?"
"Boston, Iâm going to say this as simply as I can: You desperately need a new mayor. Trust me," conservative commentator Charlie Kirk said in a different X post.
Fox News contributor Joe Concha, a former Boston resident, also weighed in on the incident.
"How exactly did Boston vote for this again?" Concha wrote. "I lived in the Back Bay area. It was one of the safest parts of the city. And sheâs offering condolences????"
"Condolences from the mayor of Boston - wait for it - to a knife-wielding man trying to kill people!" Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., said. "Thankfully this guy was stopped in his tracks by a brave law enforcement officer."
The incident came as Boston officials, including Wu and Cox, have attracted criticism from conservatives for implementing sanctuary city policies. Catherine Vitale, a former city council candidate, told "Fox and Friends" last week that she believes Wu "doesn't care" about crime in Boston.
"There's tons of crime almost every single day. There's a shooting. We don't always hear about them, but we hear them because we're there. I don't think that most of the crime actually even gets reported on. People don't get arrested. Charges don't get pressed on people who are looting stores," Vitale said.
Wu is expected in Washington, D.C., this week as one of four Democratic mayors slated to testify before Congress on sanctuary policies.
Fox News Digital reached out to Wu for additional comment but did not immediately hear back.
