It's actually so nice when there's two guys who love a lady and it's not a romantic love triangle; one of them leans towards familial love. It's great. It's fantastic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Idek why this feels revolutionary, it's not like all the stories in the world are love triangles but it still makes me go YESSSSSS when it happens.
I get so sorely disappointed when the other guy goes "I've (also) always loved you (romantically)...." Like, writer, one man is enough. Writer, caring about the lady in a familial way is also fun! I guess I'm just tired of love triangles lol
Yesss he's your lover and the other guy is your best friend. Or from another perspective, it's the fun brother in law and sister situation! (And the other guy and lady is not related by blood)
And I don't mean like the other guy is just there as the male interest for another girl, I meant like he's actively in the main lady's life who also cares abt the main lady Not in a romantic way. He's not family.

Under the Queen's Umbrella
Tumblr media
This is a beautiful series. I smiled, laughed and cried. This is the story of a mother who loves her children and will fight to the teeth to protect them. As a mother myself, I could understand her feelings and her actions. Queen Im Hwa Ryeong is an intelligent woman, street smart, and she has learned to play the politics game to protect her five sons. He eldest, the Crown Prince and his own wife, little boy and his youngest on the way are her pride and joy. He is the model child everyone would want to have. She worries about his health.
When the king decides to look for a substitute for the Crown Prince's assistant, the Queen will have to prepare her other four carefree sons so they can show they are just as worthy as their other half-brothers. But as she tries to do so without alarming them, she runs around inside and outside the palace looking for them.
Her second son, Grand Prince Seong Nam, was taken away from her when he was born. She was able to bring him home after years of living outside like a commoner. He feels like an outsider inside the palace and likes to train outside, but he loves his brothers, and cherishes his relationship with his older brother.
Grand Prince Muan is a young man in love with a woman of low birth. His mother is constantly getting him out of her home and bring him back to the palace.
Grand Prince Kye Seong is a quiet young man who brings peace to his mother but carries a secret that could kill him.
Grand Prince Il Young is in his early teens and too young to care about politics.
As the political intrigues unravel, we see her relationship with her sons strengthen. This a woman who will protect, not only her children, but the king's other sons. . . She is strong and flexible, accepting and a problem solver.
I liked her relationship with her sons. How she interacts with each and gives them the support they need while also giving them wings. I also like her relationship with the King. Out of all his wives, the audience can see a special bond between them. He values her opinion and respects her. She respects him, although there are things she will always keep away from him in order to protect her sons. She is indeed her son's secret keeper and their support.
I really love what the title symbolizes. The umbrella she puts over her boys' heads when it rains and what it all means.
I truly love this story!

Ep1 and Ep2 Blood Free Short review
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I was not planning to watch this drama due to no romance ..and I was right after watching ep2 as the main lead guy is married and with child😫
Tumblr media
I thought it was just a random family die picture but they were alive and texting him too
But the chemistry between hyo joo and ji Hoon ..can I root for them to be together depsite he's being married man ?
Tumblr media
So far the story progressed is average but fast..also there are some familiar faces from other drama I watch..so I'm seated
Tumblr media
From 39 and do bong soon guy
Tumblr media
From killer Paradox.
So onto the drama..so much test even destroying his house
Tumblr media
But when he's back at night, the house turn fine again..I guess they clean it up after making the mess🤣
The hacking is so intriguing that I will just watch and see as I also don't know who did it plus with specific timing..maybe the glasses guy
Well not this guy ( a mystery man ) which I'm sure he got something to do with the suicide.
Tumblr media
So let's wait for next ep on Wednesday☺️ 2 more day left as I watching on monday
Please stop making me shipping them together ..or at least make his family die😅😅so I can ship them confortably

THE MATCHMAKERS
GENRES: Historical, Comedy, Romance
SUMMARY: A Prince with an unfortunate reputation and a noble lady moonlighting as a matchmaker find love for the entire village--and themselves.
THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING: Quick costume changes, wedding-night poison, secret attic erotica, sass-mouths, old bachelors, heart palpitations, minister scheming, temples, donkeys, god-tier matchmaking, and learning to love your fate.
HOT TAKE: Dammit, Rowoon has done it again. Despite the fact that the only kiss the main leads had was top-tier terrible, this show was clever, adorable, refreshing, and just overall an excellent watch. Everyone's chemistry was great and the plot fake-outs were funny. Would totally recommend for someone looking for a lighthearted drama that will make you smile.

knock, knock, who's there?
cho hyun-ju x f!reader with mentions of platonic!kim jun-hee x f!reader
Tumblr media
this is chapter thirteen for my BLOOMING FLOWER SERIES
synopsis: you've made it so far, and lost too many.
warnings: major character death, s*icide, graphic descriptions, the fifth game, angst.
Tumblr media
a harsh blare of an alarm pierces the quiet of the dormitory.
it sends you awake, pulling you from the fragile sanctuary of sleep.
you rub your eyes, the pain from exhaustion clinging to your lashes. you glance beside you to see hyun-ju stirring, her dark hair splayed across the thin pillow, her brow furrowing as the noise intrudes on her rest.
confusion clouds your mind as the bright overhead lights flicker on, flooding the room with a sterile glare that stings your tired eyes.
the heavy clang of the door unlocking follows, a metallic groan that sets your heart racing, and you sit up, the bunk creaking beneath you.
your gaze shifts toward the entrance, where a group of circle guards...faceless in their black masks and pink-accented uniforms...files in, their boots echoing with a synchronized menace.
they carry a black coffin, its sleek surface marred only by the stark pink box accents that match their attire, a decoration that sends a shiver down your spine.
another body?
you think, your breath catching as the realization dawns.
are they bringing another alive player into this already haunted space?
you remember when gi-hun came back inside of a coffin, alive, after the rebellion. hell soon followed.
who else could they be bringing in after such a display?
hyun-ju rises beside you, her movements swift but cautious, her eyes tracking the guards’ path with am intensity.
she stands at the edge of the bunk, her posture tense, and then a sharp gasp breaks from her, her hand flying to cover her mouth as her eyes lock on something in the distance.
the sound sends a fear through you, and you leap from the bunk, your broken shoe thudding against the floor, your heart pounding as you follow her gaze.
the sight nearly fooled you.
at the back of the room, near the metal stairs, geum-ja hangs lifelessly, a blanket twisted into a noose around her neck, the fabric cutting deep into her weathered skin.
geum-ja's body sways slightly, the metal railing creaking under her weight, her head tilted at an unnatural angle, her eyes vacant and staring into nothingness.
suicide.
the word crashes into your mind like a sledgehammer, and a sob tears from your throat, raw and uncontrollable, as tears blur your vision.
your breath shakes, a ragged inhale that catches in your chest, and you stumble back toward the bunk, your legs trembling beneath you.
hyun-ju, junhee, and sunhee's cries join yours, a haunting chorus that fills the room. all of your wails echoing off the concrete walls as you all process the loss.
you sit heavily on the edge of the bunk, your hands pressing against your mouth to stifle the nausea rising in your throat, the bitter taste of bile threatening to overwhelm you.
the memory of your own failed attempt a few nights ago floods back. the rope you’d fashioned, the despair that drove you, the intervention that saved you...and the contrast with geum-ja’s success twists the knife deeper.
why were you stopped, but not her?
the question burns, a searing ache that radiates through your chest, a physical pain that makes you clutch at your heart.
all of those circle guards move with cold efficiency, their gloved hands untying the blanket and lowering geum-ja’s body with a gentleness that feels mocking given their earlier brutality.
“ms. jang, why?” you cry out, your voice breaking as you watch her limp form being carried away, her gray hair falling across her face like a shroud. the ache in your chest intensifies, a throbbing agony that feels like it might split you open.
you fall back onto the bunk, your head hitting the thin mattress with a soft thud.
above, the mechanical piggy bank clatters, paper wons dropping with a hollow chime as the game tallies its latest profit from her death, the sound a cruel punctuation to your grief.
hyun-ju sinks beside you, her tears streaming silently down her cheeks, her hands clenched into fists as she stares at the spot where geum-ja hung.
why, geum-ja?
why?
the question repeats in your mind, a relentless echo, but you know the answer lies in the death of yong-sik.
she couldn’t live without him, the bond between mother and son a thread too fragile to withstand his loss, and now that thread has snapped, leaving a void that mirrors the one young-mi’s death carved into your soul.
the speaker crackles to life, its feminine voice cutting through the sobs.
“player 149, eliminated.”
walking upstairs to the next game, you support junhee with a gentle but firm grip, her arm draped over your shoulder as she leans heavily against you.
junhee's body trembles with the effort, still recovering from giving birth just one day ago, the strain evident in the way her breath comes in shallow gasps.
the mother's ankle, swollen and discolored with a deep purple bruise, hangs awkwardly with each step, the broken bone causing her to wince with every movement.
the makeshift bandage wrapped around it which was torn from a spare tracksuit sleeve of yours, offers little relief. the fabric is stained with faint traces of blood.
you adjust your hold, careful not to jostle her too much.
your own broken shoe is now abandoned. you walk with only one shoe on, hoping that you don't step on anything sharp.
the broken shoe is back in the dorm, and you hope that having only one shoe wouldn't be the cause of your death in the next game.
ahead of you, hyun-ju cradles baby sunhee in her arms, the infant’s tiny form swaddled in a scrap of blanket, her small hands waving aimlessly as she coos.
hyun-ju’s lips curve into a light smile, her eyes softening as she gazes at the baby, a fleeting warmth breaking through the tension etched into her features.
the three of you trail at the back of the line, the other surviving players moving ahead, their footsteps echoing off the stairwell walls, a stark silence enveloping your small group.
a quiet stretches on, heavy with unspoken fears, until junhee’s voice breaks through, soft and hesitant.
“thank you guys,” she mumbles, her words barely audible over the shuffle of feet.
you catch them, your heart giving a small tug, and you shake your head gently as you help her limp forward.
“you don’t have to thank us,” you reply, your tone warm but tinged with exhaustion, “it’s the least we can do for you.”
hyun-ju leads the way, her steps steady despite the weight of the baby in her arms, her head tilted slightly as she listens.
junhee’s confession continues, her voice trembling.
“i was afraid i’d end up on my own again if i didn’t keep the baby…” she trails off, her words hanging in the air.
hyun-ju’s frown deepens, her brow furrowing as she adjusts sunhee against her chest, while you glance at junhee, your hold on her softening as you guide her up another step.
the vulnerability in her voice pierces you, and neither you nor hyun-ju respond, the silence a shared acknowledgment of her fear.
“i thought the baby was going to be my family, someone who’d be with me forever,” junhee says, a single tear slipping down her cheek, catching the light of the colorful staircase as it falls.
your heart aches at the past tense in her words, the ‘thought’ a grim reminder of the uncertainty that looms over you all. the truth screams at you...none of you know when your end might come.
it could be in a few minutes, when the next game begins, or tomorrow, or perhaps you’d survive only to carry the scars of this nightmare for life.
junhee’s voice breaks again as she continues, “no matter how hard it might’ve been, i thought having my own baby would make me happier.”
the mother's sobs begin to surface, uncontrollably, “but because of me, both young-mi and ms. jang… because of me…”
the guilt in her words twists your stomach, and your own words catch in your throat, a lump forming as you struggle to respond.
hyun-ju turns around, sunhee cooing softly in her arms, and her voice cuts through junhee’s despair.
“it’s not your fault,” she says firmly, her eyes meeting junhee’s with a steady resolve.
junhee looks up at you, her tear-streaked face searching for confirmation as you hold her, your hands steadying her trembling frame. y
ou nod, your throat tight, knowing hyun-ju’s words ring true.
yet a darker truth festers within you.
if anyone’s to blame, it’s you.
the thought whispering that your actions, your failures, might have set this chain of loss in motion. but you keep it locked inside.
the guilt of yours is a silent burden as you help junhee take another painful step upward.
as you reach the doors of the next game, your heart clenches. a cold dread washes over you as you catch sight of that stupid doll again...the same eerie figure from the first game.
its towering twenty-foot frame looms ahead, its back to you, the painted fabric of its dress the same. the artificial air around you feels like poison.
your stomach churns with fear as you glance around, seeking distraction. above, a painted sunset stretches across the ceiling, its vibrant oranges and pinks a cruel mockery of the danger below, while the track ahead draws your eye.
a narrow path with a gaping hole in its center, plunging into an abyss.
at the far end, another doll stands, a boyish counterpart to the girl on your side, both gripping a thick rope that stretches between them.
your heart stops as realization dawns...jumprope.
you step closer, peering over the edge, and a floor finally comes into view, a dizzying 400 feet below, its distant surface a lethal drop.
the thought of being knocked off by that rope freezes your breath, your throat tightening as if it might close entirely.
you’ve always hated heights, and no game before has tested this fear.
now, it looms as the ultimate challenge.
“what the hell is this?” player 100 mutters from the front, his voice laced with disbelief.
you have no answer.
your mind is racing with panic.
you retreat to hyun-ju, her presence offering the only reassurance you can get. you’re fine, you’re healthy, and so is she.
yet your gaze shifts to junhee, her condition a stark contrast.
the mother's broken ankle and postpartum weakness make jumprope across this chasm an near-impossible feat without support, and the thought tightens your chest further.
the feminine voice crackles over the speaker, shattering the tension.
“welcome to the fifth game,” it announces, confirming your dread, “the game you will be playing is jump rope. you must cross the bridge as you jump over the rotating rope and get to the other side within twenty minutes.”
the voice pauses, then adds, “you may decide on the order amongst yourselves.”
junhee’s scared look pierces you, her eyes wide and you guide her to a bench behind the group. “sit down,” you urge gently, and she complies, sinking onto the seat with a wince.
you turn back to the track, the rope beginning to move with a low rumble, its speed increasing until it swings in a blur.
a childish jingle starts....“knock, knock, who’s there? your little friend”...its eerie melody sending a collective gasp through the players as they witness the rope’s fast pace.
“i’ll help you, junhee,” you say, turning to her, her nervous energy palpable behind you.
you kneel, taking her hand in yours, offering a comforting squeeze.
“what about my baby?” she asks, her voice trembling as she glances at hyun-ju, who kneels beside you with sunhee.
“the game will be over in twenty minutes,” you reply, your tone steady despite the fear, “you can leave the baby here until then and pick her up afterwards.”
before the words settle, a guard’s voice cuts through, sharp and authoritative.
“all players must make it across the bridge within the time limit,” he declares, stepping closer.
panic surges through you, and you rise, turning to face him with a glare of disgust. “any player who fails to cross the bridge within the time limit will be eliminated,” he adds, his masked head tilting toward sunhee.
“my baby is not a player,” junhee protests, her voice shaking as she shifts to shield sunhee with her body.
“everyone here is a player,” the guard retorts coldly.
“don’t be stupid, that baby didn’t sign a consent form on the first day we all came here,” you snap, stepping up to him, your face inches from his mask.
hyun-ju moves quickly, pulling you back as a rifle reloads with a menacing click.
you turn to see another guard aiming at you, while the first raises a pistol toward sunhee. junhee curls protectively around her daughter, and hyun-ju steps in front, shielding them both.
you stand your ground, exhaling in frustration as the guard repeats, “any player who fails to cross the bridge within the time limit will be eliminated.”
a minute later, you swallow hard.
“i want to go first,” you tell hyun-ju, your voice firm.
she shakes her head, concern etching her features, “maybe we should wait for someone else to go, just to see how it is,” she suggests, her strong and manicured hand resting on your arm.
you turn toward the jump rope, positioning your body to practice the timing, jumping as the rope dips. not yet on the track, you outline a plan.
“you or i jump with the baby across. whoever doesn’t have the baby helps junhee.” junhee’s plea cuts through, “please help me,” her voice desperate, and you nod.
you and hyun-ju begin tying sunhee to you with the green jackets, fashioning a makeshift fanny pack around your waist, her tiny form secure against your chest. its better for hyunju to help junhee and you with the baby.
as you finish, a sudden thud draws your attention.
namgyu leaps onto the track, jumping toward an object glinting in the middle. that stupid necklace, you think, recognizing his obsession.
he snags it, pausing to open it, but the rope swings back, knocking him off.
you gasp, watching in horror as he plummets 400 feet, his scream fading into silence. it happened so quickly.
“player 124, eliminated,” the speaker intones.
all players stiffen at the grim reminder.
hyun-ju pulls you into an embrace, her voice low.
“be mindful of the gap in the middle,” she warns. you nod, steeling yourself, then step forward.
“move,” you call, pushing past the players in your way.
you approach the track, baby sunhee secured against you, biting your lip as you study the rope’s rhythm. mentally timing its full loop, you kick off your one shoe, the broken sole clattering aside, leaving both of your feet barefoot for better grip.
with a deep breath, you run onto the track, jumping as the rope descends, a grunt escaping as you land.
your balance holds, and you complete a second jump before sprinting forward.
reaching the middle gap, you leap over it with precision, sunhee crying softly against your chest.
your teeth clench so tightly your jaw aches. everyone watches you as you play for two.
players gasp as you wobble near the end but regain your footing.
one final jump carries you to the platform, and you collapse to your knees, safe and alive with the baby still in your arms asleep.
“player 112, pass,”
the speaker announces, and you unzip the jacket, revealing sunhee’s sleepy, unharmed face.
you smile tiredly, holding her up for junhee and hyun-ju to see from the other side.
a cheer erupts from the players, relief and hope mingling as they witness the baby’s safety and your success, proof that this game is survivable.
more players venture onto the track, their figures a blur against the painted sunset above, some leaping with desperate precision while others falter, their screams piercing the air as they plummet to their deaths.
a sickening crunch of bodies hitting the distant floor echoes faintly, a symphony that tightens your throat in fear. however, your focus remains fixed on hyun-ju and junhee, still stranded on the starting side.
hyunju and junhee's silhouettes look small and fragile against the looming dolls from this distance. you can tell that there is a disagreement between them, the tension palpable even from afar.
junhee’s head shakes frantically, her expression a mask of terror, while hyun-ju’s gaze darts to the clock on the wall, its red digits ticking downward with merciless speed.
the sight makes you anxious with a cold dread pooling in your gut.
you cup your hand around your mouth as you hold sunhee with the other.
“come on, please hyunju and junhee!” you yell.
the plea hangs in the air, unanswered, as the rope swings fast.
suddenly, you see player 333 approaching them. you squint, trying to decipher the exchange.
junhee’s voice rises, sharp and angry, her gestures wild as she confronts him, while hyun-ju watches, her face shifting from upset to shocked, her hand pressing against her chest as if to steady her racing heart.
what is happening?
you wonder, your mind racing with possibilities.
you are unaware about 333 being sunhee’s father, a truth hyun-ju is only now grasping, her eyes panicked and somewhat upset with the weight of it.
the timer dips below one minute, and junhee’s voice carries across the gap, a desperate beg for hyun-ju to go.
hyun-ju hesitates, her gaze lingering on junhee with a mixture of guilt and resolve, then steps toward the track.
she leaps, the rope whistling past, and lands beside you with twenty seconds remaining, her breath ragged as she steadies herself.
panic seizes you, and you go closer to the edge, calling out, “junhee, do you need help? i’ll come back for you!” your voice trembles, the promise something you’re willing to risk your life for.
junhee rises from the bench, her movements slow and pained, her broken ankle dragging as she limps toward the edge.
for a moment, you think she’s about to attempt the jumprope, hope flaring briefly in your chest, butshe stops, teetering at the part where no track extends...just the painted void below, its floral pattern a cruel mockery of life.
“junhee, you have fifteen seconds, please try!” you scream, tears streaming down your face, your voice full of desperation.
hyun-ju, now holding sunhee again after you passed the baby to her, cries out, “no! no, junhee, don’t!”
the ex-marine's plea is a wail, her arms tightening around the infant as she watches in horror.
“I'm coming, junhee!!” you shout, stepping forward. junhee’s voice cuts through, “no! stay where you are, y/n!” she cries, her face contorted with pain and resolve.
you freeze, a tear slipping down your cheek, the familiar ache in your heart reigniting...a dull, throbbing pain that mirrors the losses of young-mi and geum-ja, yet feels uniquely new.
“if you and hyun-ju don’t survive, my baby will not make it either,” junhee sobs, her voice breaking as she clutches her swollen postpartum belly, the aftermath of birth still etched into her frame.
the truth of her words sinks in, a brutal reality that leaves you shaking your head, refusing to accept what she intends.
“you promised ms. jang that you’d both protect my baby no matter what,” she trembles, her breath heaving, and your eyes meet hyun-ju’s, a shared love and grief passing between you like a silent vow.
the connection steadies you for a moment, but junhee’s next words shatter it, “that’s what i am trying to do right now,” she breathes out, her voice a whisper of sacrifice.
“please help me,” she adds, her plea a final, desperate cry as the rope continues its relentless swing.
“jun-hee, please don't!” you wail, stretching out your hand as if you could hold her with the impossible distance, your fingers trembling with the finality of it.
hyun-ju glances at the clock...nine seconds remain...and her sob catches in her throat, her body shaking as she kneels, sunhee’s cries mingling with her own.
you stand on the finishing side with nine other players, junhee is alone on the starting edge, the chasm between you a physical manifestation of the growing void within.
your breath trembles, each inhale a struggle, as you watch her step closer to the brink, her broken ankle wobbling precariously.
then, with a final, shuddering breath, she jumps.
not toward the rope, but into the void.
junhee's body arcs briefly against the painted flowers, a fleeting silhouette, before disappearing into the darkness below.
hyun-ju collapses to her knees, sobbing, “junhee, no, please come back!” her voice cracks, her pain too much to handle.
you stand frozen, a silent cry tearing from your lips, your body numb with a pain too deep to process as you hear the baby coo.
the impact below is muffled, a sickening thud that reverberates through the track, and you force yourself to look down below, your vision blurring with tears.
junhee’s body lies twisted on the distant floor, her leg bent at an unnatural angle, the purple bruise now a grotesque testament to her fall.
the sight is a scar on your already battered soul, and the grief crashes over you...not the sharp, searing pain of young-mi’s death or geum-ja’s suicide, but a dull, numbing weight that seeps into your bones.
you’ve lost too much in the last week.
young-mi’s laughter, geum-ja’s warmth, now junhee’s fragile hope. with each loss, a piece of your sensitivity erodes, replaced by a growing detachment.
“player 222, eliminated.”
the words cement her death, a final nail in the coffin of your faith in humanity.
the numbness deepens, a protective shell against the tide of sorrow inside of your mind.
hyun-ju clutches sunhee, the baby’s cries a piercing wail that mirrors her own sobs, her face buried against the infant’s swaddling.
you look down, your eyes hollow, the hopelessness settling like ash in your throat. the rope slows to a stop, its motion ceasing as the alarm beeps, signaling the game’s end.
“the game is over,” the speaker announces, its tone indifferent to the tragedy below.
you survived, hyun-ju survived, sunhee survived...but the victory feels hollow, a bitter pill coated in guilt.
if your survival meant junhee’s sacrifice, you wish you hadn’t made it across.
the thought lingers, a dark whisper that you can’t shake.
junhee should be here, holding her daughter, not you.
the woman's final act, a mother’s love twisted into self-destruction, haunts you, and the numbness grows into your fading hope.
humanity’s cruelty, laid bare in these games, erodes your belief in kindness, leaving hyun-ju as your last anchor.
you’ll do anything to ensure hyunju doesn’t leave you for death. the woman holding sunhee is the only light in a world that’s grown increasingly dark.
hyunju's safety is your singular obsession now, inside the ruins of your darkened spirit.
next chapter will be linked here

isn’t it devastating? the entirety of squid game season 2-3. sure, the storytelling was bad and the plot was horrendous, but the realization of what happens to them now.
hyun ju died not knowing who killed her and not knowing if jun hee and geum ja and the baby escaped. she died thinking she was the reason why the rebellion failed and that she should’ve been more cautious. she died thinking that she could’ve saved everyone, but she didn’t and that it’s her fault.
young mi died knowing she was a burden and that she wanted to have a home. she finally found the people that she could laugh and be safe around, but she won’t even know if hyun ju and the others made it.
yong sik died wanting to save him and his mother. he died with the thoughts that he wanted to leave with his own mom and that he was everything to her, so he wanted to kill jun hee to be with his mother. that’s a son’s determination.
geum ja died after killing her own son. thinking that she couldn’t protect him. thinking that she couldn’t convince the people to vote to leave and that’s why jun hee suffered too. she killed her own son, the boy she saw after birthing, raising, and loving. even in the midst of abuse, her son was her light and she turned it off.
min su died knowing that he couldn’t ever be anything more than dust and that he was the reason why semi died. he died wanting to be appreciated, but he was called a fucking bitch instead. his last thoughts in mental instability were all about semi. the one woman who truly loved him as him.
nam gyu died in a frenzy and chaos. drugs that intoxicated his mind in a state of anxiety. he died violent and fearful. the drugs that rotted his mind so badly. he was constantly called by the wrong name and mocked. he still hears the voices and he’s aching til his last breath.
thanos died with fury and desperation. he was forced to live even after losing his career and his entire life savings. he wanted to die, but he was forced to live, and even then, he was killed by the man that ruined his entire life, even if it was indirectly.
semi died not knowing if min su even made it. she genuinely cared about min su and wanted to help him out, but she was betrayed by him. she felt betrayed by the boy who she supposedly ‘loved’ and appreciated and she was killed by the man who hated her deeply.
gyeong su died thinking that thanos and the others abandoned him. gyeong su died wanting to be accepted and seen by his dream idol and celebrity role model, but he was abandoned and killed for being too trusting and too loyal.
jun hee died thinking that her boyfriend left her and not even naming her own child. she died knowing she was a burden and that she couldn’t have survived anyways. she purposefully fell, hopeless and lost. she wanted to live for her child, but for her child, she had to die.
dae ho died afraid and angry. he was scared, he wasn’t even in the marines. he doesn’t know how any of this works and he was forced into the situation due to the toxic masculinity he implanted in himself. he died thinking that he killed everyone and that nobody will ever forgive his fears.
jung bae died, not knowing what was happening, and calling out to his best friend that he cared so much about. he died thinking that gi hun was going to die too and got so scared when he wasn’t involved in any of the plans in the first place—he just followed through to help his best friend’s smile return.
gi hun died with questions unanswered, all of his friends dead, his mother gone, his promise unfulfilled, goals unachieved (since american squid games are a thing), and his own daughter abandoned. he died with so much raw human emotions and pure guilt. he died sorrowful, angry, tired, depressed, lost, wise, guilty, regretful, and glad. he always wanted to die; he was suicidal, but god did he die with not enough. a billionaire who could’ve won squid games again, but he was too good of a heart. he was too human to kill the baby.
the unnamed baby doesn’t even have parents. jun ho still thinks that his brother abandoned him without knowing the reason why. in ho still lives separated from his family and thinking that gi hun did something that he couldn’t do. all of those families are hopeless, thinking that their broke daughter or son or father or mother or friend got drunk and passed out again. nobody will know. the games are forever a mystery; that’s the worst part about it. no one will remember them anymore. they’re all truly gone.

ৎ HOW SQUID GAME CHARACTERS WOULD REACT IF YOU GAVE THEM A COOKIE (S2&3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Contains almost all Squid Game season 2&3 characters and a whole lot of crack !!
Content: super unserious piece of literary fiction (CRACK GALORE); mentions of the Lorax; mentions of 'Crumbl Cookies' (I never had one of these a day in my life.); mentions of therapy in Gi-hun's part; Seon-nyeo calls you a fatass; indirect mentions of maybe-canon-maybe-not PTSD in Dae-ho's part (food for thought tbh); reader is gender neutral except for Semi's part
Let me know if I missed anything 🫶
A/n: honestly I've been inspired to write this literally after watching a 'squid game s3 rant' by korean comic on YouTube and it was the line he said about Jun ho at 19:17-19:37 that made me inspired to write this ♥️♥️ not edited btw, wrote this all in one sitting
GI-HUN'S TEAM
Gi Hun / Player 456
"Hi sir! I noticed that you were sitting there kinda just zoning out into space so I tho-"
"FREEZE!"
"🧍‍♀️🍪❓"
"I HAVE PLAYED THESE GAMES BEFORE‼️‼️"
You walk home that day confused and finding yourself flippantly dialing the contact number of your therapist.
Young-il / Frontman / Player 001
It depends on how you meet him.
If you're in the games with him as Player 001, then he'd probably respectfully think you're ludicrous before genuinely thanking you for the treat.
If you meet him as the Frontman? It's either a genuine 'good luck for the next games, I'll be watching you' or an elimination on the spot for even GETTING to his HQ.
If you meet him as both in that same order, then he'd probably donate some CGI baby to your house along with 46.5 billion won, idk.
Jung-bae / Player 390
Reminisces about how he remembers buying the exact same cookies back in his childhood days, and then you guys sorta got each others backs the rest of the games.
At some point, maybe even in a melancholic tone, you'd ask him, "What was that cookie place called? The one that you mentioned two days ago?"
And he'd eye around nothing in particular with a slight shake in his voice: "Crumbl. I got those cookies off of Crumbl..."
Dae-ho / Player 388
don't even talk to me.
*ahem* I mean uhh yeah! Cookie-lover Dae-ho is so canon haha!
Would probably ask if you have more but not in a forceful way, my guy just loves a good snack... I wonder if chewing on food was one of his coping mechanisms.....
(please give him nine more cookies, I as the author am begging you to give this man more cookies.)
Kim Jun-hee / Player 222
Refuses refuses refuses but then you give a pep talk about how it's good for the baby while Geum-ja rubs her back in agreement and so she accepts it while staring down Player 333 from far away like a hawk.
HYUN-JU'S TEAM
Hyun-ju / Player 120
You DID NOT JUST GIVE HER A COOKIE SHE DESERVES THE ENTIRE BAKERY SHE OWNS THE DAMN BAKERY DKABSHLAGSKAHUAJAH
*sobs* my queen </3
Anyways I think that after that moment onwards she protects you like a monk protects his shrine 🙏🙏🙏🙏 you'd be winning EVERY game for sure with her on your side
Young-mi / Player 095
You guys became best friends that day and attended each other's wedding days and drivers test days and even traded dogs once without ever returning them back.
Yong-sik / Player 007
Gives it to his mom. (Because he loves his mom but he's probably also lactose intolerant)
Jang Geum-ja / Player 149
Gives it to her son.
Wait, actually, no, she'd give it to Jun-hee.
"Cookies are good for pregnant women because pregnant women need to eat, purr 💅💅"
Seon-nyeo / Player 044
"the gods of heaven and earth did not plan for me to get high blood sugar at age 53."
"🧍‍♀️... 🍪....?..❓..?"
"Fatass, be gone."
And she leaves you wondering if that comment was meant for you or herself.
TEAM THANOS
Thanos / Player 230
"WHOA THIS IS SO F⭐ING AWESOME MANNN, I OWE YOU MY WHOLE LIFE MY BRO!"
Proceeds to hesitantly enlighten you with the newest gummy called 'special edition The Lorax jellybelly collaboration'.
Nam-gyu / Player 124
Nahhh cuz why do I think this dude would either scoff, chuckle at yo goofy ass and eat it anyways or secretly develop feelings towards you so strong it defeats the tension between whatever's going on with Semi and Minsu in Minsu's head.
Semi / Player 038
Low-key develops into this soft gl on the side if you're her type, otherwise would completely ignore you afterwards unless it is needed by the game for you guys to stick to each other (example being mingle)
Minsu / Player 125
Starts hyperventilating about a girl he just met 3 days ago that may or may not have accepted a cookie from a stranger whom she may or may not like more than him (ESPECIALLY after mingle.)
Gyeong-su / Player 256
My chillest homeboy 🤟🤟
Would ask if it's oat-free before continuing to eat it anyway
OTHERS
Myung-gi / Player 333
Refuse the cookie 100%
You think he's got time to eat a cookie?
You think he's gonna spare you a chance at a FREE cookie?
No
Nonononono he's got two eyes and two eyes only, one of which is for the money, the other for the money, and a mouth to yap about MONEY with his baby mama JUN-HEE
You wouldn't even have the time to offer him a cookie dawg
Turn away for one second and he's in the other corner of the room all like "Jun hee think about the MONEY for the babyyyyy 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩"
The Salesman
You didn't offer him a cookie.
He offered you a cookie.
And you refused.
So he takes that cookie out in a near by park and smashes it on the ground for the birds and maggots to feast on
Oh how caring he is 💖💖
Kang No-eul / Guard 011
Hesitantly begrudgingly takes the cookie from you as she nibbles down the finest culinary craftsmanship only a work of god can suffice to
but would never admit it
Probably forgets about it the next day ✋😭
Park Gyeong-seok / Player 246
Gives it straight to his daughter and even offers you a 20% discount for a mugshot portrait to which you kindly decline and offer to pay full price
Jeong-dae / Player 100
"You have a good head on your shoulders" ahh grandpa LETS BE FR HE'D PROLLY YAP MONEY-HUNGRY NONSENSE TO YOUR FACE EITHER WAY
Would probably steal more from you like the weasel he is.
Either don't give him at all or give him just enough to keep that yappinator mouth of his ziplocked shut.
Hwang In-ho
He firmly trusts you on his next year-long mission to find his missing first born child
and when people think he's nuts for trusting some rando like you, his very reasonable morally complex sense of reasoning is "pff, no way! That person gave me a cookie, there's no way they're evil, not in a bajillion years."
Woo-seok / Mr Choi
FINDS OUT YOU'RE THE REASON BEHIND THE FOOD POISONING OF CRUMBL COOKIES IN 1987 AND WAS THE FORMER CEO OF JELLYBELLY AND THE VOICE ACTOR OF THE LORAX FROM THE LORAX WITHIN THE SPAN OF 2 AND A HALF DAYS

saw someone else point out how the characters' subplots in squid game s3 exist in a narrative vacuum and how disjointed the narrative feels as a result from the minimal overlap of character conflict
imagine if instead of restricting no-eul's confrontation to the masked officer, we'd gotten to see in-ho's reaction to how she successfully snuck one of the players off the island. naturally, after realizing gi-hun's stubbornness and ideology will never change course, a frustrated in-ho enlists no-eul to smuggle gi-hun off the island. but of course gi-hun refuses to take the easy way out without rescuing the other x's as well. with no-eul's help, the other x's make an escape attempt (including dae-ho, whose personality is not assassinated and instead provides a thoughtful exploration of the effects of ptsd and trauma).
gi-hun being gi-hun chooses to remain on the island at the last second, leaving the others to escape without him, in order to confront the vips, try to save the o's, and deliver his "we aren't horses" line. luckily jun-ho arrives on time with explosives and actually impacts the plot in a tangible way by blowing up the island himself. when the vips are cut-off from the escape routes, the power dynamic flips and the remaining o-players surround them and force them to play the games for their survival.
gi-hun and in-ho have a tense, emotionally-charged discussion about their opposing views. gi-hun asks in-ho why he helped him and he replies that gi-hun won their battle by convincing him to still have faith in people. jun-ho and in-ho also finally have the confrontation that was built up from season one instead of a lame "brother, why?" copout of an interaction. gi-hun learns the two are brothers and about in-ho's motivations as a fellow former winner
the korean games are brought to an end. the baby is raised by jun-hee, geum-ja, and hyun-ju. gi-hun shares his past earnings with them before returning to america with in-ho as his escort, in case any of the vips are still after him. the ending is bittersweet: they still witness the recruiter for the american games, but it's tempered by the hopeful reunion between gi-hun and his daughter.

TOGETHER (fluff end)
READ FIRST
Hyun-Ju POV
The shot came from the gun and a scream made me freeze when I heard that familiar voice
Y/N..? -I whispered looking around- YN? - I screamed trying to find her in the dark - Turn on the damn lights
Player 120, get back to your position… - the speaker repeated over and over while pointing the gun around me
TURN ON THE DAMN LIGHTS - I screamed hearing a bang at the door, the lights turned on and I could see two dozen people with masks watching us behind a glass
HANDS UP, WE ARE POLICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SOUTH KOREA - I could barely notice the men dressed in black entering armed when my gaze was fixed on a pink guard lying on the floor
Y/N… - I screamed as I got up running towards her removing the mask from her face watching as the tears ran down her temples disappearing into her hair - calm down, forgive me… forgive me…
It hurts… - she could barely speak looking at me with her lips trembling
I didn't mean to, please forgive me- I took her in my arms checking her body noticing how the blood ran from her left leg - fuck
Hyun-Ju..- her tired eyes looked at me while she took off my sweater and tore a piece of cloth- Hyun..
Calm down… please calm down I'm going to stop the bleeding.. and… and everything will be okay I promise - I looked at her nervously tying the piece of cloth over the wound making a tourniquet
Hyun..Ju… I'm cold..- her voice seemed to get quieter and quieter as she blinked slowly
Please trust me… please don't close your eyes - I could notice the shots around us, my body hugging hers trying to create a shield
Hyun-Ju.. what happened? - Gi-Hun knelt beside me looking worried as he lowered his gun
I…I shot her, it wasn't my intention I swear…I didn't know it was her…- I looked at him unable to hold back my tears with fear
Calm down, this is over, I'll ask Jun-Ho to help you, don't move from here..
Gi-Hun will go for help, calm down, we'll get out of here and everything will be okay, I promise - I smiled at her taking her hand as she laid it on my legs - don't fall asleep please
I'm..sorry if…I caused troubles…I just wanted…I wanted to help you - she looked at me with his tired eyes
I told you not to leave there, but you never listen to me - I smiled at him wiping my tears - when we get out of here are you going to listen to me understood?
Y/N POV
Thailand was not achieved.
After several weeks in the hospital I finally got out with a scar on my leg, Hun-Ju kept apologizing and crying and I had to take drastic measures to get her to stop the drama (I actually just threatened her that I wouldn't let her into the room anymore if she continued).
One morning when I woke up with her next to me asleep in a chair next to me I could see a briefcase at the foot of the bed.
Hyun-Ju… - I whispered moving her a little - wake up… - I moved her again making her blink slowly while she looked at me disoriented
What's wrong?.. - she looked at me sleepily - are you okay?
I just nodded looking at her and then looked at the briefcase.
We both looked at in silence and after a few seconds she approached her, opening it slowly, looking at her face that seemed to have seen a ghost
What is it? - I looked at her worried, trying to get up - Hyun-Ju…
She remained silent, taking a note from the briefcase, reading it to herself, drawing a smile on her face
Hyun-Ju, what's wrong? - I looked at her worried, complaining a little about the pain when trying to get up
Gi-Hun left us something - she smiled at me, taking the briefcase, showing me the money that were inside, I couldn't count them with the naked eye, they were thousands, millions of won
Is it… for us? - I looked at her in disbelief, receiving a smile from her nodding excitedly - but…
She smiled at me kissing my forehead making me feel that everything was finally okay, Gi-Hun make his promisse
---
As soon as I left the hospital Hyun-Ju was already waiting outside with a taxi smiling excitedly
I hope you don't mind - she looked at me shyly while we both traveled in the back seat of the taxi- I bought a phone so you can communicate with your family and tell them that you're okay, in the same way with the money from… you know, I was thinking of buying you a plane ticket so you can go back home and you…
Hyu-Ju… - I smiled at her taking her hand- I don't need to go back home, for now I'm fine here with you
Little by little Hyun-Ju stopped being the shy and fearful woman who always went everywhere looking at the floor to become confident and comfortable with herself even though there was still a long way to go.
We could finally sleep without fear of being hurt in peace even though sometimes nightmares would catch her and she would wake up scared and agitated looking around.
We both had long talks where we talked about the future and what would happen once she finally achieved her purpose.
The months passed and despite being comfortable and happy in a place far from the big city, the uncomfortable looks and comments continued towards her and grew even more when we accidentally discovered that someone would come into our lives.
The place was not the right one to continue living So we decided to talk to my parents and telling them the situation, they both agreed to support us to leave the country, a place where her rights were not respected and they did not understand what freedom was.
Little by little we packed everything, the little we had and what we could not take we gave away to the people who needed it near us, despite the difficult moments, the happy moments were seen from time to time.
The weeks passed and before leaving to never return to where so much harm had been done to us, we both decided to say goodbye to the one who took care of us during those difficult and lonely days.
The bus ride was as always uncomfortable with stares and after getting off at that strange place we had no choice but to ask for the woman who helped give birth to the children there… Jang Geum-Ja
Geum-Ja, the old lady lives at the end of that street, do you know her? - the curious (or maybe gossipy) woman looked us up and down
Yes, she is our family - Hyun-Ju smiled at her taking my hand walking while we looked at the houses and the details of the place, little by little the street came to an end until we noticed a small house decorated with plants
Is this it? - I smiled curiously hesitating a little to knock on the door, then giving a couple of light knocks waiting
Damn, that boy, I told him he had to come quickly - we both laughed listening to Geum-Ja's screams waiting while she opened the door with a bang, freezing - but… but what…
Hello Geum-Ja, we came for the kimchi you promised us - Hyun-Ju smiled at her letting go of my hand to receive it in her arms giving it a strong squeeze
But… my god what are you doing here..- Geum-Ja laughed jumping hugging her tightly - you took too long where had they gotten into - she hit her arm making us laugh then let go and hug me tightly - holy god you look so healthy and full of life - she smiled looking at my belly feeling it against her after the strong squeeze- you..
We came to introduce you to your future grandbaby Geum-Ja - I smiled taking her fragile hands while She smiled with her eyes wet
I'm going to be a grandmother…finally!! - she laughed hugging me again- but please come in, go ahead Grandma Geum-Ja will prepare something delicious for you to eat
The hours passed while we talked and laughed about the stories she told us about Yong-Sik and how she had to work now, the promised kimchi was served on the table as well as other dishes she forced me to eat
eat it all, it's good for the baby and for you, also eat eggs - she served me one thing after another filling my plate excitedly
Geum-Ja, I would like to stay and have you be the one to bring our baby into the world but…the circumstances would not allow us to raise them well in this city…it is still not well seen that a woman like Hyun-Ju walks freely and we also do not want to cause any harm or problem to our baby when he grows up so…we have decided to go live in my country…
Oh…but…- she sighed looking at the floor sadly as she sat down- I understand, you are right… I just hope they are very happy and always Remember that you have Grandma Geum-Ja here to take care of you and your little one
We will keep him in mind, one day we will come back and you will meet our little one so he knows how great his Grandma Geum-Ja is
You are right, I will be his bravest grandmother - she laughed patting Hyun-Ju's arm sighing - I will miss you so much my girls,
It's time to go home…
