Super Smash Bros. Is Not Canon And Is Unreliable For Mario Lore Part 2

Part 1

Continuing on from where we last left off.

SMBM's Wario Trophy calls Wario "an old acquaintance of Mario's."

This is incorrect Wario is Mario's childhood friend not acquaintance.

SMBB's Goomba Trophy says "they're not the toughest creatures and can generally be defeated by jumping on them, which makes them disappear."

Meanwhile in game Goombas just simply get flattened when stomped on as I mentioned in a previous post.

SMBB's Piranha Plant Trophy says "a vicious, plantlike monster that typically hides in pipes."

The usage of plantlike means it's a simile implying they aren't plants but something else. However, in the Mario Canon they are only ever referred to as plants as I talked about in a previous post.

SMBB's Birdo Trophy says "a pink creature of indeterminate gender that some say would rather be called Birdetta."

Now outside of the unsavory treatment of Birdo over the years, Birdo is indeed female. Thus referring to Birdo as a creature of indeterminate gender is inaccurate.

SMBB's Waluigi Trophy says "while the nature of his relationship to Wario is a mystery, the pair have hatched some devious schemes together."

This is incorrect and Waluigi's relationship to Wario has been known for a long while. I've addressed this in a previous post.

SMB4's Wario Trophy says "a living embodiment of gross, this villain hates Mario and loves money. He claims to have known Mario since childhood, but who can tell if that's true?"

Wario being Mario's childhood friend is a well known fact and not just a claim of Wario. I plan to go further into this in a future post. In addition Wario isn't a villain but more of an anti-hero. Wario also doesn't hate Mario but is more of a rival to Mario.

SMB4's Peach Trophy says "Peach uses her dress to float above the fray, suddenly descending and attacking with numerous weapons."

This is inaccurate, as I mentioned in a previous post Peach does not use her dress to float but rather magic.

SMB4's Wendy Trophy says "She's bold, bossy, big headed, and sees Peach and Daisy as her rivals."

This is something as far as I've seen has never been stated in the Mario Canon.

SMB4's Toad Trophy says "It's not like they're very good jumpers. Captain Toad can't jump at all! What's that?"

This is shown to not be the case because Main Toad, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, and Toadette have all been shown to be able to jump.

While Captain Toad is unable to jump because of his heavy backpack.

SMB4's Shell Creeper Trophy says "with a name that implies silently sneaking up on its prey, the Shellcreeper might be considered cooler than your average turtle. The Koopa is apparently an evolved form of this veteran of Mario Bros. We'd recommend not jumping on this one like you would a Koopa, though…"

The problem here is it's Shell Creepers were rename to Koopa Troopas and are meant to be the same thing.

SMBB's King K. Rool Trophy says "his brother, Kaptain K. Rool, made an appearance in the game Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest."

This is clearly incorrect, and Kaptain K. Rool is intended to be King K. Rool in the Mario Canon.

I guess I should formally make a post here about this, even though it’s been out for a while now:

HISTORY: This project is something that I’ve been actively working on for the past 2 years and I am very proud to be able to finally present the fruits of my labor! Growing up, I’d always been a massive fan of the Donkey Kong Country titles. I remember finding “Legend of the Crystal Coconut” on VHS at my local video rental store and pleading with my parents to rent it for me. I was blown away, finally being able to put voices to kharacters- and while the overall quality of the animation and writing was rather dubious in hindsight, most of the vocal performances always stood out to me as being THE definitive voice cast. For an awkwardly-animated cartoon of the mid-90’s, the writing was fine for what it was and touched on the normal ‘Saturday Morning’ kids block tropes. However, I’d always felt that there was something more that could be brought to the table in terms of storytelling if things were more kongsistent with the games. Here’s where I come in. Fast-forward 25 some odd years and I’m now living out my childhood dream, as ko-producer, kreative kongsultant, kasting director and voice actor of my own little motley krew of Kremlings!

I hope you all will have as much fun watching this as we did making this!

The only King K. Rool fight that I never beat was King Krusha K. Rool...

So many big boys to choose from… I want them all!

A glitch that can make Donkey Kong Country 2 unplayable can occur during the battle against Kaptain K. Rool if a team throw move is timed in such a way that it completes while K. Rool tries to hit the active Kong with his blunderbuss. The active Kong (Diddy in the footage) will be stuck in the "eyes bulging out" shock animation indefinitely, requiring the game to be reset to continue playing.

Note that Diddy is blue as a result of one of K. Rool's earlier attacks that colors the Kongs while giving them undesirable status effects, and is not part of the glitch.

Going down a very deep rabbit hole of Donkey Kong lore and researching King K. Rool for something and Jesus this lore is so weird and so obscure. Who the hell is King K. Rool’s younger brother K. Lumsy. Why is K. Rool’s motive for stealing the bananas to starve the Kongs to death so he can steal their treehouse. His trophy in Smash Bros Brawl says that Kaptain K. Rool in DKC2 is K. Rool’s brother, but he looks nothing like K. Lumsy so either there’s a third brother who looks identical to K. Rool or Brawl is lying to us despite there being no reason to lie to us? Or they’re stupid idk man?

Today marks the 6th anniversary of King K. Rool's debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so to celebrate, I got some headcanons ready :D

He positions his bed directly into the sun's position, so that he won't have to wake up cold

He embroidered the pattern on his cape himself and will brag about it any chance he gets

When he loses a game and can't cheat his way into victory, he'll lie to save face! If you found him in a game of Hide and Seek, no you didn't! He wasn't even playing anyway, how dare you! If you tagged him in a game of tag, no you didn't! He was just, uhhhh, warming up! If he touched the floor in a game of The Floor Is Lava, he was actually wearing lava-proof boots the whole time

When absolutely nobody else is around, he'll lay down on some rocks and bask in the sun

He has mixed feelings about jesters; on one hand, having a funny little guy around would be a nice change of pace from the weight of his duties, but on the other hand, he hates being mocked and knows that jesters can mock freely without any legal consequences because it's part of their job

If he wins at something, he'll brag about it for weeks, won't shut up about it, and will count it as solid evidence that he's better than everyone else

If he's feeling down, he won't show any visible signs of it; he'll do whatever he can to avoid hinting at it or even implying it! He'd rather get glitter in his eyes than let anyone see that he can be just as vulnerable as anyone else

He doesn't remember anything from the events of DKC2 or DKC3; He does have some vague, spotty memories of DK64! If someone were to tell him about Kaptain K. Rool or Baron K. Roolenstein, he'd deny it and ask who they were, out of confusion

After the events of the Joker reveal trailer, he has decided to take up boxing as an outlet for his rage and other personal issues

So I've been listening to Alestorm recently and I got inspired to finally draw King K. Rool as Kaptain K. Rool.

Only problem, I'm not good with coats and swords. I would've done the blunderbuss, but I can't draw that within my life...

So hope you like it.

While it's unlikely Wart will show up in the new mario kart game. I am hoping we get it's Super Mario Bros 2 mini bosses like Mouser and Clawgrip as kart racers since they are bosses known for throwing items at the chosen player character.

I hope not, Triclyde would be interesting to see his left and right snake biting heads toss around items. I'm not super familiar with SMB2, but it would be pretty cool to see some characters cameo from older games. Some Super Mario Land stuff could also be cool; we basically never see anything Sarasaland related outside of Daisy. Some Kremling Krew would also be greatly appreciated

I can't speak from an animation standpoint since I don't have experience with that, but given how much they've been bragging about the hardware, I highly doubt technical limitations would be an issue.
